My Darkness

Do I need some kind of gratification,
to feel some type of validation.
To feel this way with no relief,
to dream such dreams in my sleep.
Wanting them to be real, wanting to be awake,
but all I see is a world of fake.
Have no pity for me, for I am weak.
Don't come to me for the answers you seek.
Darkness engulfs my every move,
in a place where there's not enough room.
I try to move, I try to scream.
The darkness has its hold on me.
The loneliest place is inside my mind.
I try to think of better times.
Something just holds my mind and ignores my cries.
'Better days are coming' is what I'm always told.
When in reality I'm just lost and cold.
The darkness getting more bold.
Holding my mind hostage, i have never been more alone.
Making me feel like light will never be shown.
I pick up the pieces and try to understand.
As me and the darkness walk away, hand in hand.
