Goodbye - Hello

Burning, burning, twisting, turning…

Find the key, find the door,
Fate will do the dirty chore.
Down you go, down the hole,
But weep not, it’s not your soul.
Why we laugh, why we cry,
We don’t know, we just die.
After what has been said and done,
The best is all that is left to come.

Flying, flying, soaring, gliding…

They are there, because they care,
That is why they stand and stare.
Moving forward looking back,
Everyone is dressed in black.
Climbing towards the guiding light,
You realize why you quit the fight.
Now you know you are not on earth,
And revel in your new rebirth.

Mother, Father, I am home.

True Friend

A person who enhances your life,
Knowing your accord and your strife.
Respecting both for the individual they compose,
Always watchful for threats of foes.
The sibling not born of your clan,
But knows you like the back of a hand.
Someone who knows your thoughts before they happen,
A relationship most can’t even imagine.
No sea or continent can keep you apart,
Refuse the distance and look straight to the heart.
Here you will find the person you seek,
The voice inside will remind you things aren’t so bleak.
Through joy and sorrow, pleasure and pain,
The true friend is one who will always remain.

Lost In Time

A quiet night beneath the stars,
A man can reflect pasts and futures far.
Expel the turmoil of life, love and desire,
Let it drift away with the smoke of his fire.

Glowing embers and floating sparks,
Flames dance to the orchestra of the dark.
A simple rhythm with wondrous powers,
Ensnaring his gaze for so many hours.

Evening breezes wash over him with grace,
A comforting feeling, like a lovers embrace.
Potent smells of earth, forest and streams,
Primitive and familiar as in his dreams.

Surrounded by nature in untamed beauty,
This is his temple, his purpose, his duty.
Far from technology’s cruel pulling tide,
Existing for a time on the primal side.

Summer's Day Nightmare

The wind speaks softly through the trees,
A cool breeze drifts across my face.
Warm radiance glows brightly through shut eyes,
The mind wanders to strange new places.
A mysterious force pulls me back,
Eyes flash open in terror and fear.
Twisted claws extend violently for my jugular,
I leap forward sprinting toward nowhere.
The demon lazily gains ground in pursuit,
Stinking jowls snapping feverishly at my heels.
A flash of lightning and pound of thunder,
Rain pours heavily down my face.
What the hell? I’m late for dinner!

When I Close My Eyes

When I close my eyes, I see your smile
No matter where you are or how many miles
It’s always there for only me to see
Bringing me hope when I’m in need

When I close my eyes, I taste your lips
Pressed deep to mine in true love’s grip
With a single kiss you fill my soul
Lifting me up when I’m feeling low

When I close my eyes, I hear your voice
An angelic sound makes my heart rejoice
Strong and pure full of love and purpose
Guiding me home as my heart’s compass

When I close my eyes, I smell your hair
A sweeter scent never touched the air
I long to be near you and your love within
You are my rose I need to breathe in

When I close my eyes, I feel your embrace
Driving my blood to pump and heart to race
Your simple touch sends chills down my spine
You are my love, my lady, for all of time

When I close my eyes, you are always there
Trusting in your love my heart laid bare
Call it what you will, destiny, karma, fate
Makes no difference I’ve found my soulmate
