The Silvery Night

The Silvery Night
       Above is a canopy
Studded with many thousand glittering stars
       The vast sky
The rays of the golden ball
Gild the darkness of the night

       Greener surroundings
       Appear to be in black
       Yet decorated with many
       Flickering lights
       The fireflies

       Mysterious sounds of the
       Night creatures
It is a melody with no lyrics
       The cool breeze moves around
       With much ease
       Words don’t come easy
       For me to explain
The beauty of the silvery night.

Hope Is Life

Life is like a vessel without a sail.
Neither a compass nor a harbor to anchor
Just a voyage
Without hope.

Life is like a kite.
Broken from its string
Moving aimlessly
in all directions with the wind
Without hope.

Life is a pen with nothing to write.
And a blank book, with nothing to read.
Without hope.

He who embarks on the vessel of life.
Holding in his hand the compass of ego and hope,
Will reach the harbor of his goal
And will wind up his voyage.

It’s he who flies the kite
With a strong string of hope
Will move in the direction he wants.

It’s he who will write
With the pen of hope
In the book of life
Will leave something for us to read.

The Poverty of the Night

When the sun goes down
She comes to town
Gazing all around
Yet no one has found
fireflies lit the darkest night
cry of cricketers in their hideouts,
break the silence at night.
Her hope chased every
Nook and corner
Her gaze sets on a shadow
Emerged between an ill-lit alley
They whispered to each other
Both souls met together
Laughter and groans
Echoed the darkest aisles
He bid farewell
Just with a coin
And a half a loaf of bread he had
She got mad and felt so sad for both
Toss the bread on her feeble mom’s plate
tears pouring down
Empty belly roaring
She retires to bed with a sob.

An Invitation

If you are genuine
                        You could sail
                        In my stream of love
                        If you are true
                        I could follow you
                        To the valley
                        Where Adam and Eva lived
                        If you are right
I would leave all my rights to you
If love and faith are your wills
                        Please hold my hand
To cross the stream of love
Until we reach the golden age of our dreams
Then shall bid farewell to each other
                        And embrace death together.

The Ring

The Ring
   The love between two
Seal with a Band of Gold
   To be secure and strong,
   With the blessings of all,
   The instant symbol of marriage
   Is the Ring…
The beginning or end is hard to find.
Right or wrong within the ring will be pardoned.
It will be hardened even if it’s right out of the ring.
   It’s a thorn on a finger.
For a pair, who is always in anger,
For those who hold love in their hearts,
   Till death they do part,
   It’s the same blessed thing.
   The Golden Wedding Ring…

Live For the Day

Live for the Day

       Yesterday was history
       which brought today’s victory.
       Tomorrow is a mystery.
Which could lead to a contingency…
       Never think of tomorrow’s mystery.
Within this short span of life,
       Make use of the day.
       Take today as yours and
       Leave tomorrow to the others.

Victimized Animals

Lying in the street
Bleeding to death
Pleading for life
Not any Medicare
Or Inquiry
Offender at large,
No burial or cremation
An innumerable number of tires
Run over the dead body
Justice is beyond the reach
Of the loved ones
The life of every animal matters,
be the motto of the motorists.

A Tribute To My Mother

Some instances
Her beautiful face is covered
With a governing growl as a mask
over us,
our sickness or defeat makes
her heart melts and tears roll down her face before ours,
Love, care, trust, and cleanliness were the key factors
In her syllabus for us,
We were kids and it felt like we were in a boarding house at times
At later ages, we realized it was the basis for our future
It’s too late to appreciate all of her dedication to us
Mom’s love was unconditional and divine
She was the living goddess of our lives
Our mom will live in the deepest place in our hearts
Until we depart.

A Betrayal

Like dew on a mountain,
Like a swan on the river,
Like a star from heaven,
You came into my life,
Like a thorn, you pierce my heart,
Like a storm, you shake my mind,
Like an unknown, you take your leave,
Like a dream watching you go,
Hand in hand with my best friend.

A Diminishing Youth

He was a man in his youth.
           covered his manhood.
With a musty piece of cloth.
Dangling hair with mud and dust
Darkened skin with so many scars
As he strolls sheepishly down the road,
           came to a standstill.
Bent over a muddy pot-hole on the road,
           Greedily drank the muddy water.
           and quenched his thrust.
           He looks so despondent.
           In dismay, I thought
Once, he would have been somebody’s son.
Surrounded by so many loved ones.
           Now he belongs to non.
           Lonely under the burning sun.
