Help Is On the Way

Help is on the way
Although it seems like forever
Help is on the way
Now or never

I wonder where they are
Help is on the way
And they couldn't be far
Gladly I was with a smile

Help is on the way
Although I thought it would take a while
Here they are to rescue me
Help is on the way

I thought I'd never see
Now I'm happy to be free
Help is on the way
And I didn't believe that it would be

It's a good feeling to be alive
Help is on the way
And I thought that I would die

Innocent Child

Creeps I call them

Kidnapping our innocent children

Predators lurking with no conscience

Victimizing our little ones

As servants and slaves

Their privacy is violated

By these disturbed human beings

Parents continue to hang onto hope

And God's amazing grace

Their child will be found

As they hold on to their faith

Never knowing if their child

Will come home to stay

The Tiny Box Under the Tree

I could see the snow falling outside the window
As we cuddled on Christmas right near the tree
Drinking egg nog and watching our favorite shows on tv
Anxiously I couldn't help but wonder
What my sweetheart had wrapped up for me
He must have read my thoughts
Because suddenly he gave me a surprise gift
And immediately got on his knees

To see what my expression would be
Nervously I stood in shock
But couldn't wait to unwrap the gift
That was a very tiny box
To my amazement it immediately caught my eye
Sparkling and shining from the opened box
Stood a very large diamond ring
Just as beautiful as it could be

At that very same moment he then stood up
And said, " Will you marry me?"
Without a doubt thrilled and excited
I immediately answered back with a yes
We then smiled and intimately embraced one another
Finally ending the night on Christmas was even more special
And one of my best Christmas holidays ever
Because I became newly engaged which was a gift like no other

Time Is Running Out

I want you
But you don't want me
I'm tired of wondering
If this would ever be

You claimed you love me
But I can't tell
Love is more than words can't you see
As I wondered about this love

Which made me feel lonely and empty
You ignore me all the time
Saying words that are never kind
I'm tired of feeling in the way that I do

When all I want is to love you true
Your time is running out
And you'll miss me when I'm gone
In this relationship I never felt so alone

It's time to say goodbye
And I wish you well
I hope you find someone true
That would be good as I was to you

Hello January

Its been a long time
Since I've seen you last
Beginning the new year off
Is what makes you even more special
Along with the cold weather
You bring in reminds me
Even more of your existence
Unlike the other January's

This year you've been extra wonderful
By giving me the strength
To leave the old behind
And embrace the new
I've also discovered
"A brand new me"
Leaving behind past
Hurts, insecurities, and doubts
All have been a delight
As you have approached

A new love interest,
Financial blessings, and
A new outlook on life
Although it's just the beginning
The first of the year
Is always the best
Simply because my expectations
Of you never seem to amaze me

It's Summertime In July

It's summertime in July
Kites are flying high
Children are playing side by side
It's summertime in July
Picnic's are in the park
People are jogging and taking a walk
Swimmers are in the pool
Relaxing and trying to stay cool
It's summertime in July
Flowers are blooming everywhere
It's pretty to see
Even honey coming from a bumble bee
It's summertime in July
School is out now
Trips are being taken out of town
It's time to have fun
Sun tanning in the summer's sun

Secrets In a Marriage

Secrets causes one to mistrust
The love doesn't feel the same anymore
Instead of feeling happy
You feel lonely and sore

All you do is argue and fight
It last through the morning
And carries into the night
The smile has disappeared off my face

When I think about this marriage
I feel nothing but disgrace
In hopes that things would change
I stay looking to God's grace

Instead of looking for space
The love feels empty inside
Sometimes when I think about this marriage
I want to go away somewhere and hide

I don't know where our love will go
But deep inside my heart
I'm wishing that it would last
Hoping that the hurt
Could be left in the past

A Good Man To Me

He's everything that a man could be and more
when it comes to him the heart adores
the love that he gives is like no one else that you know
his love together with yours is better than the winter's snow

There's no mistake about his love and feelings for you
he only wants to do what's right and make you more true
a good man is this you see
when he encourages he makes you feel like there's nothing

On earth you can't be
uponing seeing you he often cracks a smile
Being with him is always worth the while
he gently holds you tight in the middle of the night

This good man unlike others
will make sure that everything's alright
he gives you love that you just can't resist
a good man believe it or not

Will always exist
even when it's cold outside
he will do his best to keep you warm
a good man will not cause arguments or bodily harm

My friend as the love of his life you are
a good man would not hesitate
in making you feel like a star
ladies you dream of him even in your sleep

A good man you will always strive to keep
remember that he's more than words can ever say
a good man no matter what
unlike others he will never go away

A City Once Without Hope

I would have never thought I had a chance after wanting to stay behind
The devastation swept up my city
I constantly cried at the vision I had seen
People were dying everywhere and what a shock it was
Seeing majority of my city floating under water seemed as if it was only a dream
However reality made everything so true
Young and old, sadness filled the hearts of many
After being led away from our home of plenty
Displaced and referred to as a stranger to some
Desperately wanting to go back to what we once called home
Only to be told that it was temporarily gone
I survived to tell all How hurricane Katrina went down in making history
As one of the deadliest hurricanes that fiercely attacked, leaving many dead in her path
Even after many years her memory still lingers on
A city once without hope continues to surprise
A strong people we are destined to survive

My Country

A test has come our way
We are not exempt
Just looking forward to seeing a better day
Hard times has fell on us all
We are only hoping
We can stand strong and not fall
Jobs are being lost each day
Bills are getting higher to pay
We now have a tendency to pray
Asking God to make a way
Businesses are crashing down
Our lives are too
I only pray that my country
Could see this through
