The New Nigerian

Chosen for a reason
In a season
Not by the dozen
But individually
To be born
A Nigerian
One who can run
Through the thorns of life
Without being cut
By its spikes
Into a family
By a parent
Who will not relent
Making fervent prayers
For the child
In anticipation
Of the tribulations
That lay ahead

The New Nigerian:
One with talents
Silent but efficient
More active than motives
Helping to live
Above the perception
Of corruption
Making him strong
With a song
Above the spiral trials
Of the general material beliefs

The New Nigerian:
One who chose to oppose
The misconceptions
Of the strives of life
Living a purpose driven life
And being juxtaposed
From the affairs
Of the wicked
Through dwelling
In the secret place
Of the Most High God

The New Nigerian:
One who goes
Against the law of gravity
Moving beyond escape velocity
Living in the sensitivity
Of the spirit
Going in the right direction
Of Righteousness and True Love
Facing his challenges Head-on
With strength
From the Almighty God

Are you this New Nigerian?

Death

With instincts
Distinct in its' precinct
It lies low
Flies above
And remains aloft
Full of power
It moves about
To and fro it goes
Until it finds its prey
Rich or Poor
Cowardly or Bold
Master or Servant
Weak or Mighty
In its physical form
It was defeated
In its abstract
It was unseen
And hovers
Around its prey
Until the time is come
The die is cast
And the command is
given
The soul is taken
As the line is cut
That connects
Life to the body
DEATH!!!
A tear to many
A joy to others
A curse to some
A blessing in disguise
It is to you
What you choose it to
be

The African Attire

Borne
from
the
heart
Of
Africa
An
attire
Unique
in
design
With
a
fashion
Made
from
a
version
The
fraction
Of
a
nation
With
a
vision
An
inscription
Of
passion
Not
a
notion
But
an
unction
To
provide
wears
With
favourable
colours
And
a
flavour
To
savour
Being
created
From
a
fabric
Slick
and
meek
Not
from
the
attic
But
From
the
Latin
word
"PULCHER"
meaning
BEAUTIFUL

Fathers' Day

In a time
When men stood out
Being courageously stout
I saw a man
Raising his children
He was not perfect
But was Gods' elect
He had some flaws
Concerning his laws
But with help
From the Lord
The children grew
And were made new
Becoming Men and Women
Fulfilling Purpose and Destiny
A chosen generation
Sent to the nations
From God above
Just like the dove
Through one man
This man is YOU, Dad
HAPPY FATHERS' DAY

The Line

Like and Love
Dislike and Hate
Good and Great
White and Bright
Sleep and Death
Bad and Evil
Sin and Iniquity
Religious and Righteous

Between these primes
There is a Line
Once crossed
You become Bossed
By the very nature
That becomes your culture

I Am Not Afraid

I am not afraid of lack,
Because I know I enter excess!
I am not afraid of not being loved back with the venom that I love,
Because I know I am genuinely loved!
I am not afraid of failure,
Because I know that I am a success story!
I am not afraid to take the steps,
Because I have an understanding of the end!
I am not afraid to lose,
Because I know I gain more!
I am not afraid of death,
Because I know I live forever!

If Choose I Am

If choose i am
Between two Fairlies
I will choose the Darker

If choose i am
Between the Darker Fairly
And a Chocolaty
I will choose the Chocolaty

If choose i am
Between two Chocolaties
I will choose the Fairer Chocolaty

If choose i am
Between the Fairer Chocolaty
And an Ebony
I will choose the Ebony

If choose i am
Between two Ebonies
I will choose the Cutest Ebony

It doesn't matter
What you think you know
About what i want
What matters
Is what i know
About what i want

Nature

The art of creativity
In the heart
Of the Master designer
Never got
The appreciation of men
Until It was
Brought into the reality
Of sight

Nature:
First nurtured
By the creator
Of the creatures
Bringing to existence
A work an art
Never
To be recovered from

The Rising of the sun
In the morning
The Beauty of the flowers
In the garden
The Uniqueness of the animals
In the fields
The Connectivity between the trees
In the forest
The Superiority of the man
Through God
Above all these

Nature:
Made active
In the culture
Of the creatures
Serving the purpose
Of its creation
Producing a beauty
Through its existence

The Awesomeness of the Mountains
In their place
The Humility of the Valleys
Beside the mountains
The Wonders of the Grasses
On the hills
The Remark-ability of the Clouds
Atop them all
The Joy of the man
Above other creatures
Recreating the created
Bringing the art
Of the Master
To full view
Of all creatures

The Beauty of Nature
No more resides
In the heart
Of the creator
But
In the admiration
Through the view
Of the created

The Mentor

In life's' living gutter
I stutter and mutter
Eventually i falter
And did alter
The very life's' meter
That controls the matter
A bitter - like better
That butters the fighter
And makes him go higher

I needed a master
Who'll help my desire
And make me grow
stronger
Who is not a quitter
Even though i falter
And litter my letter
With words of a gloater
He'll bring me hither
Oh! just like a father

But i found another
Relative or father
Linked to my ancestor
Acting as the elevator
Taking me to the apex
floor
Terminator of the
imitator
And Creator the
inspirator
In the Orator
I found a MENTOR

The New Life

In you I found
A new Beginning
In you I found
A new Friend
In you I found
The new me
Thank you
For giving me
A New Life
