Girls Are Amazing

I am a girl whom everyone think low,
But oh no, oh no I am not low.
I too can do everything like boys,
From reading and writing to making noise.
I can become a great dancer and do ooh la la,
I can be an astronaut just like Kalpana Chawla!
Doesn’t matter whether I speak Bengali or Hindi,
I can become a famous prime minister like Indira Gandhi.
Equality between boys and girls is the biggest matter,
You don’t have any right to make our dreams shatter!
Grown-ups, please treat us equal,
When given a chance, we can do things wonderful and unusual.

The Little Pup

On the red roofs,
We heard pattering hooves.
When we looked up,
We saw a little pup.
It was so cute,
No matter how we became mute.
Its tiny nose,
Was as red as a rose.
It stared at us with its black eyes,
Which looked as cool as ice.
Then it looked at me and with one huge jump,
On my hands it landed with a bump.
It was so small,
It loved to play with a ball.
Then it licked my face,
And pulled my shoelace.
Then I went in and got some milk,
And a small shirt made of silk.
We became the best of friends,
And this is how my poem ends.

Nature Is Beautiful

Plants and trees,
Animals and bees.
All belong to nature,
So we have to be mature,
To care for our plants,
And not trample over ants.
Trees we should not cut,
There should not be any if or but!!
We should use as much solar energy as we can,
Non-renewable resources we should ban!
Walking to nearby places will be better,
To the government, we should write a letter.
To stop building factories,
Then there will be victories.
Mother Earth gives us everything we need,
But to her betterment we pay no heed.
