Finding Freedom

It’s in a snap of fingers they paint our hearts with stigma
and blame our burning teardrops for a free air and thought;
Was it a blissful boon for society to curse us when we fought?
Or was it their grey smoke of restrictions and impertinent rules,
that we gasped every second, only to suffocate our morals;
They once fell asleep on their mother’s shoulder, a woman
but now they don’t even offer a hand and shut in a castle of ‘MAN’;
Was it the key of patriarchy that we kept in the name of the civility,
through which they locked the gates of our rising equality;
Seventy five years of freedom, but barely any freedom in the country’s air,
when a girl dies before birth or wages are never close to fair
or watching her brother go to school when she sits in a kitchen chair;
But in a cloudless bright sky, let the sun of equality rise,
dapple our land in rays, all reflected in a freedom’s eyes;
Let us all pick up the torn pieces of society’s map,
and rearrange them and follow it to reach a world of peace & calm;
Let the winter turn to spring and ignorance to wisdom,
By fighting for pure equality for finding freedom…

Catch the Rain Where It Falls When It Falls

Those are priceless pearls, the prize of paradise
falling in drops, for the life of all dwellers of earth to rise;
Leaving the castle of clouds, carrying blessings & bliss of living
healing thirsty throats, giving brown leaves a green coating;
But let’s save our life, these drops before nature gives us warning calls,
open your palm & eyes, catch the rain- where it falls, when it falls!
When was the last time we uttered a `thank you’ to rain
as we jumped in puddles, left paper boats sailing in our lane;
But now our little fingers have strong to take an oath
to shield and save every raindrops of some million worth;
So let the voice of our gratitude echo in all the caves and halls,
open your palm & eyes, catch the rain-where it falls, when it falls!
Let the blue of the blue planet stay bright, for a greener shade
as the raindrops caresses every lake, river, ocean and cascade;
The hand of clock is ticking fast, like counting our sins to pay us back
and nature’s cursing us for the inhumanity, humans did back to back,
Now let’s calm its rage & store our plans of protection in our rack;
Let it not flow out, the ricochet and hit of raindrops on rooftops,
Let just save it, harvest it to harvest healthy bright crops;
So let the mission to store these precious wet stones stand tall,
Catch the rain, where it falls, when it falls..
