My Dirty Little Stones In a Pouch

my dirty little stones in a pouch
received in a hotel one night
slid them under my pillow
dreamt sweetly
opened the pouch in the morning after breakfast

saw dirty little stones
wondered what they could be
went to smith the jeweller
sat on the couch as i waited for him to wash them
came to me holding something glittery

it was diamonds
i jumped up and down
told him he could sell them on a black market
take his share
i locked them in my safe at home

would you like to hear more
before i do that
i have to go and testify at the hague
diamonds are forever and you too should have them

You Have Been a Naughty Mom

you have been a naughty mom
you put a child on a time-out
no mothers day gift for you
it never wanted to come out of it
it smacked you back

you are a naughty mom
you put a kid on a time-out
no mothers day gift for you
handle it
you started it

you put it there
sole
confined
opposite a wall
it could do no wrong

just kidding
this is yours
a good mom
deserves a good gift
happy mothers day

Hi Mom

hi mom
i came here to let you know
my sister and i have a tough time
she has been passing at school though
has a diploma and is now doing her degree

as for i
i dropped out of college
like the rest of them
i mean
my friends and other township people

it is sad but true
i remember how you worked hard for me to get an education
i have disappointed you mom
uncle frederick cried when i told him
he had prepared me a welcome party

instead of going back home with him
i opted to go to aunty patricia at the botanical farm
her boss treats her well and
had even sold her some of his company's shares
it was wonderful out there

i have just been released from jail
the police identified a wrong face
picture your son's body wobbling at the back of a police van
i would like you to protect me
you used to say the world is not asleep

tracy bore you a grandson
i was shocked to hear her boyfriend christen him alpheus the third
that is pure bad luck
how could they call the child by i and my dead cousin
they should have asked for my advise

i know you are in a good place
abraham and other angels look after you
i am in trouble
i went to the priest to see if he could convince the judge
i am not a shoplifter

by the way
i have to go now
tracy is good looking
i wish she was a girl next door
here are the roses for better days

Since I Have Been Here

since i have been here
i have seen a bunch of useless people
listen
useless
look at that guy sitting against the counter
he does that all the time
he disturbs the cashiers
he is never here when my store manager is here
he knows nothing
he does not even help the cashiers and the manager with the tills calculations when they
knock off
ladies fall for him like he knows something
i do not know why
i am beggining to believe that we pay him for doing nothing
my wife seems to like him
she likes store packers
that one is only a trolley pusher
i asked my wife why he likes him so much
hey you
come over here
i am going to fire him on the spot just wait and see
you are fired
i told you he is useless
he even cries in front of girls
useless
