Srinivas Veepuri Poem
Parting moments bring you closer.
The thought of separation
Disturbs your sleep and hunger.
Want to be a winner…
Try to be together.
Take not anything for granted,
If you don’t want to be a loser.
Goodbyes play their part.

Srinivas Veepuri Poem
Terry tried to cross the wall with one bound;
And had his two front teeth crowned!
Near his granny's house, a lake he found;
Not knowing beans about swimming, he drowned;
And gallons of muddy water he downed!
Not sitting quiet, he irked an angry hound;
Catching his calf, it got his muscle almost a pound!
All around, all the time, thus he clowned!!

Helped by his fellow candidates
And blessed by the proctor
He passed the exam
Who is the culprit?

Srinivas Veepuri Poem
Behind every successful man,
As the saying goes, there is a woman.
In my family, they are many.
They are all liberal to the core.
Hence, I adore them more.
My mother is one among them.
Being a woman of great virtues,
She is not only patience personified,
But also, the symbol of our family pride.
She is far too generous,
Though not very prosperous.
Manages everything as a dutiful spouse;
Against anyone she has nothing to grouse.
No wonder, for us, she is a light house!

Srinivas Veepuri Poem
One day I told a friend of mine,
“It’s bad to drink too much of wine”.
“It’s too late,” he replied;
And the next day he died.
To be within limits is fine!

Srinivas Veepuri Poem
I live in a city that never sleeps!
Notice people moving here and there…
Engaged in their routine activities…
Minding not their surroundings!
Those who love burning the midnight oil…
Found busy working night shifts.
Those who are pleasure loving…
Found visiting pubs, nightclubs and theatres.
At night they don’t sleep;
In the morning they don’t wake up.
Aren’t they the creatures of the night?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
In my talk with a tree, I said,
“Sacrifice, thy name is tree;
For us, everything of you is free.
As you respect our every plea,
We find a great friend in thee.
For ages you are in our yard,
We all, for you, have a great regard.
You are as old as our forefathers,
You loved all, and all loved you.
You know not any discrimination,
Be it people, animals or birds.
Whoever came to you,
You hugged them all equally…
Providing shade and shelter.
Nothing of you is yours,
Be it your leaves, flowers or fruits.
Though people pestered you,
By breaking your branches and trunks,
You have complaints against none.
Now, you have become an old one,
And are going to die soon.
Even your dead body will not be yours,
As firewood and funeral pyre, it’s used.
Don’t you have any regrets?”
As an answer, it humbly replied,
“The purpose of my life is to serve…
And I’ve simply done my duty.”

Srinivas Veepuri Poem
Loincloth was his dress;
Truth was his address.
Nonviolence was his armor;
A warrior and a perfect charmer.
A man of progress,
And an epitome of success.
He is the ‘Father of our Nation’;
He is our Mahatma!

Srinivas Veepuri Poem
A friend on whom you can always depend,
To whom your helping hand you can extend.
To you, he is an oasis in a desert,
In whose company you find yourself unhurt.
In troubled waters, he becomes your anchor;
In financial crisis, he is your reliable banker.
To your earnest requests, he says not ‘no’;
He is ever ready to defend you in one go.
Why all this? He is your alter ego!
