Adedoyin Blessing Poem
Two-faced,
Yin and yang,
I'm neither this nor that,
Benevolent and serene to some,
Vengeful and spiteful to others.

Adedoyin Blessing Poem
Ever wondered how memories spring,
Or how a sad moment flips to the good side,
Days that seem boring and mundane,
Spurs life tracks that we look back and view.
Ever wondered if an embarrassing scene in the present,
Might be the cause of laughters in the future,
Sitting around in cozy circles,
While recounting tales of an adventurous past.

Adedoyin Blessing Poem
Olodumare crowned you,
Like the daring obas of old,
Undaunted and unshakable,
With hearts sculpted out of gold,
Ase and oro were their best friends,
Dangerous yet mellow,
Empathetic and in-depth analysts,
Meekfaced like the proverbial lamb,
In all they were the brave ones,
Laying aside their troubles and ills,
Alase ekeji orisa they were called,
Due to their daring feats,
Eki Oba Alase.

Adedoyin Blessing Poem
Staring at the world through albino lenses,
Sat a frail and delicate lass.
An epitome of beauty and grace,
With a pure heart of gold.
Tiny yet strong,
Fascinating and dangerous,
A deadly combination of beautiful and lethal,
A vessel full of kind intentions and joy to friends,
And a wrecking ball of danger to her foes,
She is called Rose.
The most alluring flower when handled with care,
But unpredictable in her ways.

Adedoyin Blessing Poem
Roaring waterfalls,
Musical sounds for a nap,
She succumbs to sleep.
Wednesday 30, December.

Adedoyin Blessing Poem
I look forward to days,
That I'm free to shed my cheerful facade,
Free to wallow in self pity and gloom.
Days that the darkness that has been shut in my dark cupboards are free to roam,
Serenading me with their exotic tune of despair and self loathing,
Where I'm free to revel in my darkest hours.
A place where no warmth of love and comforting words can reach me,
I long for those days, twisted as it sounds.

Adedoyin Blessing Poem
We lived or should I say we died slowly
Living a day more is a blessing,
To right the wrongs, sculpt out lasting monuments with our blood, sweat and tears
It's also a countdown timer, ticking clocks signalling how close the end of our short life is.
We phased in and out, between each waking moment,
Reality and fiction got entwined,
Caught in the raving madness of survival
As we toil and cuss and sigh and move on breathless,
All in the name of living life.
Chapters by chapters of existence got flipped out,
Some with unwritten episodes, some unfinished,
and yet some with finished episodes with unintelligible inventions,
Yet again, we had chapters with happy endings in their finished episodes,
All in all, it ended, however it did.......
Now, gears of existence are being oiled again,
Puffing out smoky entrails of fresh resolutions to be penned down,
New chapters to be written and lived,
As our short existence roll out before us.

Adedoyin Blessing Poem
Remembering days that we felt loved,
Concerns etched on caring faces,
Wrapped in the comfort cocoon of hugs,
Became tracks that were played on repeat modes.
Days that we made new relationships,
The goofy conversations and awkward beginnings,
Tacky photos and hilarious memories,
Became the backdrop of our life's gallery.
The normal days and the exciting ones,
Days that the world seem so cruel,
And days that we felt on top of the world,
Are all part of our life tracks that we lie back and replay.
