Jennifer Roberts Poem
Broken Down:
J. Roberts
9/10/08
Lost in this emotion
Confused in this silence
Taken back by your presence
Struck down with words
Broken into pieces
Stolen from truth
Broken down in memories of you
Finding answers in mistakes
Regret from those who take
Taken parts of me, torn them like paper
Glass shattered by being fake
Taken bits of you, into a sculpture of us
Broken down, left without an ounce of trust
Like an explosion ready to bust
You and me without lust.
Time in a frozen bottle
Standing at a stop to no where
Looking for the ride home
No fare to pay the cost
Lying in the battle field
Just the broken parts of our limbs
Bleeding from the outside in
Living day to day, sin to sin
Broken down in the tears that drop
Silently waiting for it all to stop
Broken down, we lye here
Broken down, we stay
Broken down, all alone
Broken down, in the days ahead
Broken by you in each tear that I shed.

Jennifer Roberts Poem

Jroberts
Erase:
Surrounded in the dark, the people stand
Hear the voices in there head
Yelling the words to pretend
Empty there toxic thoughts
Unscramble all of there pain
Find the day in the light
Remove the invisible stain
In this time, in this moment still
Find the answers holding on
Fill the voids pulling you in
See the walls fall beneath
Grab the ground below
Be among the few
Begin a new day, just as you.
Thunder showered in a storm
Rain drops swallowing you whole
Tearing through the current
The tide dragging through the sand
See the rise above
Reaching for a hand
On your knees and stand
Moments with complications
Days with painful time
Fear lying in the arms of truth
Silenced in the eyes of another’s path
Words sharpened with a voice
Taking the difference in front
Stop and make a choice
In this time, in this moment still
Find the answers holding on
Fill the voids pulling you in
See the walls fall beneath
Grab the ground below
Be among the few
Begin a new day, just as you.

Jennifer Roberts Poem

J.Roberts
In the ocean of people the chanting voices rise.
He stands before them a piece of history
grabbing the helm steering us home.
Tears shed of triumph and victory
for the first black man
will lead a nation
as the United
States of
America.

Jennifer Roberts Poem
Conviction:
You make me weak
You make me strong
You make me want
to keep holding on
The time is now
The moment is real
A true conviction
of how one can feel
You’re the journey on an open road
Fearless traveler driving eyes closed
Gate keeper to a heart left trapped
A beautiful gift lying unwrapped
The moment so real
A true conviction of how one can feel
Restored in the company of laughter
Alluring in a single smile
Silent in a timeless presence
Measuring time, mile by mile
The moment so real
A true conviction of how one can feel
Honesty in the deepest words
Passion in the very best way
Touched with invisible touch
Closer and closer day after day
Conviction of a moment so real
A true conviction of me.

Jennifer Roberts Poem
Lost on an emotional coaster
Filled with the fear of stopping
Intoxicated in the idea of more
Tortured with a choice
Listen for the words
Share with me my voice
The truth behind this wall
Answering the obsession
Fighting all the temptation
Building my confession
The weakness within
The story that’s hidden
An emotion so strong
True feelings forbidden
Friendship masked with a lie
Crush beyond ones fault
Secret underneath the skin
Lust inside my vault
Fear of the unspoken
Longing for the real
Journey undefined in today
Escaping just to feel
Presence lost in direction
The truth behind this wall
Answering the obsession
Fighting all the temptation
Hear my confession.

Jennifer Roberts Poem
Unspeakable, un-breathable, mistaken, and lost
Held in contempt with silence trapped behind words
Inhaling each thought and feeling
Losing focus behind this broken lens
Seeing the vision in front, image so unclear
Falling in an empty pool, reaching towards the top
Letting go, giving in, swallowing the pieces of me
Letting go, sharing all, broken branches in a tree
Grasping for air, every moment still
Strength for me, strength within
In every tear that falls, a tear left to catch
Lying here so quiet
Unspeakable, un-breathable, mistaken, and lost
Price to pay, can’t afford the cost.
