DETERMINED! By Paul David Powers! It began when I was younger, I truly was a nerd! Then they said not good enough, gotta prove to you my worth! In my teens I was a Hippie, they said Hey cut your Hair! Even as a Christian, they really didn't care! I married rather early when I first became a man! Live for God with all my heart/lost everything I had! Determined went to college earned me three degrees, still they wouldn't accept the person that was me! Looking back I realize I gave it my best shot, now I'm in Retirement Age, True Love I've not forgot! So Yes I am Determined, you can't hold me down, in God I trust, the rest but dust! through Grace I Shall Abound! THE JOURNEY! By Paul David Powers! In the beginning was the question, what life was all about! Though we often lived in peace, dad and mom would often shout! There was struggle for the groceries, couldn't pay the rent, found two dollars on the street, thankful for some bread. I knew I didn't fit in, was a Bastard's son. no matter what I tried to do, the damage had been done! The Hippie Counterculture, Jesus is the Way, til the pastor he got caught, molested boys he preyed! But the Love of Jesus was something of a need, got married at age 21, preached Christ upon the streets. The Blessing of a daughter could this make things right. The marriage it had ended turned my light to night! I could blame it on the preacher, blame things on my wife, It's never been the same again, an old man this I write! 2/5/2023

THE JEWEL By Paul David Powers! At times I think it's all a dream, from love to scammers continually! Who is that person behind that mask, your deception will not last! Am I naive to believe, that True Love remains, to be seen! You want respect it's a mutual thing, it's not all you this story range. We have lost loves innocence, broken souls oh what a mess! Gone are days of Valentines, will I find Love at 69! You might think I be the fool, that I should stand aside, make room. But one thing I will tell you, True Love really is the jewel!

I am willing to Try Again,
to meet a Woman, Lover Friend,
One of Faith I can depend,
Someone close to Cumberland!
I still Believe that Love Prevails,
Life's been hard sometimes like Hell,
theres another chapter to foretell,
Two Lost Souls, Unique to jell!
I don't care if your different see,
Just understand, that I am Free!
I Love my friends and family,
Forever hope our Love will Be!

VAPOR! By Paul David Powers!
Life is but a vapor, flowers bloom and die!
But we have a destiny, a purpose, reason rhyme!
In the beginning is the searching to find the person you
The Beatles and the Stones, Ed Sullivan Show we knew!
The Hippie Counterculture, A Hippie I became!
Christian Hippies came along saying Jesus is the Way!
So, I took the gospel message, to the people on the streets,
Took my wife and daughter, to sow the Gospel seed!
Thought nothing ever shake me, the day it came apart,
My marriage it was over, that day she broke my heart!
I threw myself in study, three degrees from school,
But I couldn’t fix my home, my family it was through!
Now in my late 60’s won’t say again I Do,
But want to find me one last love,
before my days are through,
A Lover and a Partner, someone just like you!

A KING! By Paul David Powers! What could I offer to the King, who rules the earth and everything! Who spoke and all creation done! Who died for our Salvation Won! Who is this King, A Humble Son, not my will but thine be done! A King was born for Destiny, the psalmist many songs to sing! Christmas come and Christmas go, That Eastern Star forever glows! To point to Jesus Christ Our King, Lord of Lords Forever Reigns!
