You created me from nothing
Where the Universe births new stars
I was one of a billion new souls
That were formed in your eyes

Such love and light and joy
You gave to every being
May we all realise that we
Are angels yet unseen

Thank you for Your blessings
Your compassion and Your grace
Your peace and mercy save us
Your love is greater than all space

For from nothing we were created
And to You we owe our souls
May we represent Heaven
As part of the Universe's knowing

Each soul perfect in itself
Each destiny unfolding
We are all from one place
Where the Universe was dawning

You created us from nothing
Using starlight and stardust
May we spread light and love and joy
Until the Universe is perfect

Broken Hearts Can Be Mended

Broken hearts can be mended
By Michelle Morris
16/10/2020

Broken hearts can be mended
Shattered pieces to love surrenders
Happiness in time embraced
No more loneliness engaged

Broken hearts can be mended
Soft words and gestures friendly
People generous and kind
Frees hurts from souls left behind

Broken hearts can be mended
Hugs and kisses shower heaven
No more emptiness within
When love eternal gives us wings

White Horse

White horse
By Michelle Morris
27/12/2022

You always wanted
A knight on a white steed
You always hoped that he'd
Sweep you off your feet

But, then you became wiser
You realised your own strength
You didn't need a hero
You'd be your own instead

That image of the white horse
With a strong warrior mounted high
It is a reminder for both genders
That we have dreams to which we aspire

For men long to be heroes too
They want to feel strong and sure
They want their partner to accept them
For all the good things that they are

It doesn't really matter
How we learn our roles
It doesn't even matter
What beliefs in hearts were sown

What truly matters
Is that we achieve balance within
That we realise that we are strong
But can be vulnerable at times

Relationships don't need to be
About power and control
They should be about friendship
Compatibility and honour

Sprinkle in love and passion
Kindness and good sense
Wildness and freedom
A chance to be yourself

Whatever works for you
It's important to feel loved
To feel that you're supported
For who you truly are

May you be your own hero
May you find a love that's noble
May you experience enchantment
Like a white horse from Heaven's stable

I Row My Little Boat

I row my little boat
By Michelle Morris
23/02/2023

I row my little boat
Out onto the ocean
I know boats are meant
To be free to explore

Harbours are safe
For ships to hide
But that's not where
They earn their stripes

Likewise, we humans
Need to meander
Through valleys and over hills
Experience the joy and happiness

The fears and discomfort
The growing pains for our souls
We need to take the tests
To learn the lessons of old

So, I put my faith
In God above
I pray for guidance
I pray for love

I row my little boat
With faith and hope
I live my life
With God's grace and love

Your Life Through Stages

Your life through stages
By Michelle Morris
13/08/2020

In the morning of your life,
You'll feel like you have
All the time in the world;
You'll be enthusiastic and
Fearless, and without any
Limits unfurled...

Simultaneously, you'll be
Surrounded by people who
Want to mould you,
Shape you into boxes
That fit their world view...

Don't allow anyone to break
Your stride, limit you or
Harm your pride;
You need to take pause and
Focus on the type of person
You want to be -
Hopefully good and kind and
Generous will be your legacy...

In the noontide of your life,
You'll be looking back at how
Far you've come
And looking forward to see
If there's still time for
Dreams to run...

Don't be thwarted by the
Limitations of time or age -
You're never to old to learn anew
Or with life to re-engage...

No matter your circumstances,
You can always start again;
It just takes dedication and
Willpower that never ends...

Don't be put off by
Whatever challenges you face;
The race is not yet done
And the demons you've got to face
Won't be the best of you...

If you focus on
Always choosing good,
Because good always wins
And allows a conscience
Clear of sin...

In the evening of your life,
You'll be looking back upon
Your path, and hopefully wonder
If you changed many hearts...

To improve the planet
And life thereon
Would be the best of lives lived
And worthy of a song...

Let's Go Back

Let's go back
By Michelle Morris
04/03/2023

Let's go back to the beginning
Before it all went wrong
Stop the mistakes in their tracks
And never hurt each other again

Let's go back to what was working
To the fun and magical happiness
The good we created in our hearts
Never a sad day to ruin the bliss

Crossing Lines

Inspired by the TV show, "Chicago P.D.". Being a police officer is more challenging than ever in the world. As much as there are valid concerns about issues, overall, we need our police officers.

Crossing lines
By Michelle Morris
11/01/2023

There are lines drawn
By law and order
By society's norms
And states and countries

They can sometimes
Contradict each other
They can sometimes
Be confusing

But ultimately
Each of us needs to
Be guided by a
Higher calling

There's honesty and honour
There's good and there's truth
There's peace and justice
There's hope and faith

Our integrity is crucial
Our choices become actions
We move forward on our life path
By experiences and knowledge

Crossing lines
So easily done
With good intentions
We hurt and we shun

Lines invisible
Lines so real
Society exists
Through laws and traditions

But the law isn't always
About what is purely good or bad
It is more often about
The lines drawn by Legal's hand

For a law in one place
Might be allowable in another
And those laws won't have anything
To do with ethics or good governance

Ultimately it's up to each and every one
To be the best person they can be
In the Universe that surrounds us
For all law abiding human beings

Like a Sunflower

Be like a sunflower
By Michelle Morris
04/01/2021

Be like a sunflower,
Turn your face towards the sun;
Embrace the light and the warmth,
And let it become part of
Your soul.

Be like a sunflower,
Stand straight and tall and
Bloom brightly;
Be your truly gorgeous self; and
Become part of heaven's adored.

The Swans

The swans
By Michelle Morris
06/02/2023

Two swans swim on the ocean
Beautiful, gliding together
Love and light highlighted
Nature's infinite blessings

The waves reflect back blue cool
The sun echoes down yellow warmth
The swans are white purity in motion
The sand blending black, yellow and white stripes

The swans swim on, uncaring of labels
They just exist in this moment
Living their lives with exuberance
Embracing the seasons and tides

This pair illustrates love and devotion
Showing us all that loyalty is a blessing
Life goes on without human intervention
Nature free to flourish in glorious ways
