Troubled Times

Troubled Times

In troubled times, I have the sea
It's soothing sounds bring peace to me.
An ocean breeze,salty climes
I have the sea in troubled times.

Gulls swoop and dive, we wouldn't dare
unless a safety net was there.
We fish safely, to stay alive.
We wouldn't dare, gulls swoop and dive.

I've seen sunfish, seals and whales.
Smoked some kahawai, told some tales.
But this is true, it's not rubbish,
seals and whales, I've seen sunfish.

A quad bike ride, along the beach,
search for treasures lying in reach.
Changing contour, shifting tide,
along the beach, a quad bike ride.

When times are bad, the ocean calls,
kids go swimming, kick beach balls.
So many happy times I've had,
the ocean calls when times are bad.

My Musings

My Musings

To those below, I'm just a star
that twinkles in the night.
So many million miles away,
I should be out of sight.

Producing my own heat and light,
I twinkle down to earth.
Inside my core the gases churn
through my celestial girth.

My night sky world of beauty is
amazing to behold,
and unlike those who live below
I'll never feel the cold.

The time will come-we stars do die,
and others born to light the sky.

Kjndness

She comes again, to dress his wound,
straggly hair but packed with kindness.
I wonder where she's going next
and who she treated just before.
Of course no alcohol involved
he slipped on wooden steps at night.
Deft hands measure, clean the wound,
replace the silver dressing.
"Keep it dry and elevate," she says agai..
I know he won't unless I nag.
She checks blood pressure, much too high!
then heads to small white car outside.
I thank and bless the District Nurse for
her service, skill and patience.
