The Year of Rats

2020 is the year of lassa fever
Or the year of rats as I've heard somewhere,
For as innocent as they might seem They are now reservoirs,
Of these dreaded virus Causing lassa fever
That  has spread widely in Africa
In Nigeria benin ghana
And now Sierra

To avoid lassa you need to take care,
Of your surrounding leave no holes
For entrance ,
When you feel ill Don't say it's just a fever a symptom of malaria  typhoid or yellow fever
Don't hesitate it might be the silent killer
By that I mean lassa hemorrhagic  fever

Don't be blinded by phrases  common in Africa
Like the popular saying *Small disease no dey kill Africans*,
Alas African man too can be killed with lassa fever,
Within days it can bring his death near,

So don't be foolish enough to draw your death near,
avoid lassa by Maintaining hygiene in the household areas,
Rodents aren't best friends to humans in these era,
So keep them of your home as a preventive measure,
Avoid contact with infected individuals
Don't only bullet proof your doors get yourself a rodent proof food containers,
Or get a beautiful cat thatll rid them off your area.

To avoid lassa we must be vigilant
Not just you and me
But all those working in health centres ,
Working hard day and night to provide us with care,
Thier kind of devotion and love is so rare,
If they died if lassa we'll be in despair,
So let's remind all of them from far and near,
To take proper precaution in patient care,
Google's and mask shoul always be weard,
Hand hygiene shouldn't be forgotten before and after each procedure,
And proper disposal technique shoul be ensured,
So they don't fall victims of lassa fever.

I Am Positive Mindset

I am positive mindset
I'm your rescuer
when you are in distraught
Lifting you from the ground
So you can touch the cloud
And see what lies beyond

I'm like a soothing balm when your heart breaks
Covering the broken pieces like  a duvet
To prevent you from diving in the ocean of hatred
So you can embrace forgiveness
And see your ex past their own mistakes

I'm your comforter when you are in distress
When you are down near to your grave
I make your heart beat in gratification of Allah's  grace
So you can embrace the inevitable  end and cherish your remaining breaths
Seeing your death as a change in phase
Not as existence unjustly erased

When you feel ugly and out of place
I quickly fill your mind in a haste
changing  your  mindset
To what will serve your interest

I am a fully armed soldier
 your knight and unfailing saviour
Fighting to free you from your negative ideas
That have suffocated your mind
Killing your dreams with asphyxia

Some people call me
Self love others self esteem
But I say I am none of them
I am their backbone The master of all
I am positive mindset
I am an art
As well as a science
I'm not a rocket science
But can alter natural miene
I can transform a lousy mate into a mighty  lioness

I'm neither fair nor black
Not a Nigerian or a native of any  clan
My kingdom reign in the minds of men
I am faster than a lightning wave
I can make worthless feel worthy
Mindless turn mindful
Hopeless turn hopeful
I can even turn
A pessimist into an optimist

I make people draw strength out of their weakness
Unlock mysteris our of their myseries
I am what makes baba buhari contest to be the  president of Nigeria despite  a record of three consecutive  failures
I am what made Bill gates invest in his ideas  ,thanks to me you have an iPhone that makes your life easier

Don haka ku riqeni Dan banida tamka
Inkun riqeni kun kama tudun dafawa
Zaku daukaka dukda sharrin maqiya
If you embrace me success will chase you
If you repel me sadness and failure will French kiss you
Without me you'll be in despair
Without me the world is going nowhere
I am positive mindest

February

February is a month of bliss
A month in which love spreads
When every Adam tries to find his eve
And red roses are given as a gift
As a sign of love meant to be kept
Or a proposal if coupled with a ring

February is a bipolar indeed
In which others unify while others split
It brings smile to others while others weep
All In quest to find partners with whom their hearts beats

So dear February please be nice
Let only your good side suffice
So we can all go through you with a smile
And welcome you with open arms when next you arrive

Dear Father

We never get the chance to say goodbye
Not even our regular high five's
Like a vanishing star or a wisp of smoke
You took your lonely flight to your eternal home
As if a reverie a constant nightmare
I lost the only person I call home

If my tears of sorrow could bring you home
If would've seize you from the grasp of death
Keep your body from getting cold
Or even make me whole

Wandering in solitude I seek for a resolve
For peace and fortitude strong enough to
steer  my lost soul and resurrect my heart
Buried 6feet under pain

For in that heart you've carved yourself
a place, full of love and memories that
Will never fade
