So this is us standing on the bridge
We've fought through hell, sometimes jus' to feed
Last year was ill, we had to sail on the knees
Work for food, we could hardly make some G's
Damn, we could barely pay the bills
My mind hoping we'd be walking on the greens
Head on, we had to meet the bees
Sometimes stung, it made us feel the heat
Hustle strong, even if it meant we were beat
Work hard, a brother couldn't afford to sit
Sweat hard, but never could rip the sweets
Hey - I mean - the year had so much to teach
I'm staring at the stars, I'm about to make the wish
New year's come, I've to put it on the list
I'm done living like this, like I'm among the least
This life's a gamble, win to earn the eat
System's glitching, I need to hit the switch
My hands twitching, I need to be on the win
Y'all - do you even feel how i feel?
Like I've been robbed of my entire will to live
Why can't I when I'm tranna win for real?
Will I lie? when I'm tranna live the deal
Leave my mark in the stars, this has been the dream
Life's tough tho, will I leave the streets?
I need to be on top, what the hell am I doin' in this silt?
Feels like I'm sinking, though I wanna swim on the beach
I've been fishing my entire life, but never caught some fish
But I'm crushing the system, I'm gonna pimp the wheels
I ain't asking for permission, I'm gonna use the whip
This year's my year, Imma take it for a spin.

I wanna be free
Must I pay a fee
Maybe I must flee
Or just drown in the sea
I just wanna be
Sometimes live in a tree
With ease, dance in the street
In peace, paint the wind
In spring, wander the East
