Three Course Day

Breakfast

Appetizer of the day,
the morning fried egg sun,
yolk pulp and burnt crisp around the face,
pumpkin fries like sun rays shoot sharply downward,
the air dispersed everywhere like ketchup,
Durant street is straight as a bacon
and Telegraph bacon cross-sections Durant,
the clear sky wheat bread drenched in white milk.
it is 9:30 my morning class,
feels like breakfast to my mind,
so filling.

Lunch

Twist,
open Diet Coke
open reader spill some drops
wait for to-go at Kimchi Garden
Terriyaki is so quick
but beef is tastier than chicken I guess.
write notes on tissues because of the forgotten notepad
essay, presentation, essay, reader, midterm
check cell phone to-do list
sip diet coke
check list again
"Beef Terriyaki to-go"
Grab food, forget diet coke on table
run to room and get ready for the last class.

Dinner

Whew.
walking out of the rusty Sather Gate
in memory of the late Peder,
Almost 7 PM, feels like prison break.
The burden of a vertebrate,
Exhausted legs leaking battery acid,
Red eyes need some varnishing.
On the way home, I stop by Yogurt Land
a weary lion scavenging for fresh blood;
NY Strawberry cheesecake flavor
Dessert of my day, of course
the stars taste so sweet after hard work.
What a day.

A Smurf, a Dragon, and a Cygnet

I am blue,
So very blue.
Maybe, I am literally blue,
Like that unhappy little Smurf.
I want to have some real friends.

He is red,
So very red.
Maybe, he is literally red,
Like that anger-reddened dragon.
He needs to learn to listen a bit.

She is white,
So very white.
Maybe, she is literally white,
Like that poor frightened cygnet.
She needs to learn to talk a bit.

Hold on a minute, we can all become best friends!
We could definitely bring our grudges to their ends.

My blueness blends well with your redness, mister.
My blueness blends well with your whiteness, miss.
We would become colorful like them rainbows later!
We could help each other and then all be in a bliss!

Our souls have different colors for each individual,
We must learn to appreciate them; it's always vital.

L.O.V.E.

We almost had it;
Almost a love story.
We could have had,
All the four letters,
Of that very word.

Loneliness is where I live without you;
Opposing me are the memories of you;
Violent nightmares come on through;
Everything seems so dead and blue.

Now in dreams we meet,
Although not so merry,
It is not so much sad.
I should ask the painters,
To paint you my world.

Love me like I love you right now;
Only then, shall we find out how;
Vicious hatred and curses we can escape,
Even if our hearts for each other they rape

Compass

You are my compass in life;
Your love decides.
It decides what I am,
It decides where I am,
It decides who I am,
It decides how I am,
It decides why I am.

But without you,
I am lost.
Lost in the vast oceans of love,
Lost in the crazy jungles of love,
Lost in the deep caves of love,
Lost in the sharp icebergs of love,
Lost in the hot deserts of love.

I may seem too passionate a lover,
I may seem too enthusiastic a lover,
But it's all so true.

Love and Trust,

A Starry Night

Among those twinkling stars,
One just finds me and stares.
Among the many crowded people,
I look at the star through the water ripple.

As the night goes on and on,
The star uses its shine to don,
In order to hide from me,
As I disappear into the sea.

I wander how we will ever,
Again come to see each other,
By the night of this very river.

In a single star, I find memories.
In a single star, I find love.
In a single star, I find loneliness.
In a single star, I find respect.
In a single star, I find poetry.
In a single star, I find my mother, my only mother.

Poets Speak of Us

Poets Speak of Us

Shakespeare once said,
"Such is my love, to thee I so belong,
That for thy right myself will bear all wrong."

Blake once said,
"So when she speaks, the voice of Heaven I hear;
So when we walk, nothing impure comes near;
Each field seems Eden, and each calm retreat;
Each village seems the haunt of holy feet."

Auden once said,
"If equal affection cannot be,
Let the more loving one be me.”

Housman once said,
"I shall not vex you with my face,
Henceforth, my love, for aye.
So take me in your arms a space,
Before the east is grey."

Lawrence once said,
"Since I lost you, my darling, the sky has come near,
And I am of it, the small sharp stars are quite near."

A Beast once said,
"Do leave me by your side,
And no one shall ever recite while you speak.
Do leave me by your heart,
And no one shall ever hurt your soul so meek."

We Shall Be Remembered

Oh, happy memories,
Never you fade away.
For without your stories,
My life would be so gray.

I can remember everything;
From the first to the last,
But time would not allow such a thing,
For he is mean and aghast.

But from time to time,
I shall remember each one,
And mock the clock's chime,
Until my time is already done.

To turn back our past,
I would love to do so.
But if so, my conscience would not last,
For no fun exists with no woe.

Let us be satisfied with us now,
And let us make most of things to come,
Then we shall again be happy somehow,
 And we shall all come under one home.

All of us were beautiful lovers,
So were we trustworthy friends.
One day we shall pick up some clovers,
And sing together again, until our ends.

Sonnet 1

Sonnet 1

Thou makest my day a true insightful day,
My night a genuine night of the Star.
If thine love would come to rest, I shall die;
No day nor night would I survive afar.
Fact of this thou knowest with thine heart's blood;
No man can last to breathe without love's air.
If this knowledge thy brain has understood,
Know that my rotten lungs need thine scent of hair;
And mine sickly heart thine touch of woman's hand.
Like rain, dost thou water my organs of ill love.
Worth of thine soul, I now do understand;
Parted from it, I can not look above.
A Love once insignificant kills me;
Shall not I lose thee for eternity.

Love & Trust,

A Curve

Straight ahead,
Then you'll bump your head.
Curve a bit,
Then you'll avoid the pit.

Curving is to be in coincidence;
You pass by in mere accidence.
In that curve, there lives happiness.
In that curve, there lives sadness.

The curve comes slow at times,
But too fast to realize sometimes.
Just like that butterfly,
A flower it does pass by.

Who passed by me yesterday?
Who curves by me today?
To curve, to pass, is to be 'un heavy';
In that lightness, I live in you and you in me.

So, curve a little, pass by a little.
But very lightly, so not to belittle.

To My Dearest Jolly

To My Dearest Jolly

She barks like a lion,
She runs like a cheetah.
But she's my dandelion,
She's a little Madonna.

She stares like a tiger,
She cries like a big wolf.
She's far more than fair,
I love her cute little arf.

Love & Trust,
