Refiners Fire

I am a bar of gold as shiny as can be
At least that is what I see
But inwardly other alloys lie
Seen only by the refiners eye

So intent is he to make me pure
Fiery trials sent, gold will endure
The impure thing to the surface rises
Impatience, pride, and other uprisals

It's not my fault I boldly say
I was shiny 'till that fire came my way
It's the fires fault that I uproar
That ugly was not there before

If you don't send the fire my way
Then shiny I will surely stay
NO! The outward man you look upon
But the pure in heart to Me belong

Patiently He says, confess and then
Forgiven, I will wash away your sin
Mixed in your gold, impurities lie
And they will surface by and by

Do not point, accuse and blame
The ones I use to surface them
Love the ones I chose to use
To polish, sharpen and purify you.

Be thankful for my trials? You should!
All things work for your own good
The purpose? No, not to condemn
But that I might wash away your sin

You see I have come to set you free
From all of the impurities found in thee
The fruits of love will take their place
Lay down your life, I'll give the grace

I'm the pot Lord, You're the potter
Heat the fire all the hotter
On your altar I am a living stone
Mold me, make me, your holy home

Lion King

I was born a child of The Lord of The Jungle
I was loved, the apple of His eye, His joy in a bundle
He had a great plan for me as His child in His circle of life
But, there a lesser power lurked, one of evil and strife

One day he came and took the life of my dad the King
Then turned on me, his plan from the beginning
The kingship, he wanted, so he began to deceive me
He said I was responsible, no good and I was guilty

Feeling more like a rat than one destined and called
I slunk away, head low and on my belly I crawled
Then I ran so far away, that I couldn’t look back
On my calling or son ship, seeing only my lack

I took the identity of my new friends in Accunamatada
I soon forgot where I came from and who was my Father
I forgot who I was, my calling and my true destination
I forgot my enemy and my responsibility to my nation

But my Dad was always with me, without and within
Sent His Helper to me, His comforter and friend
To remind me of who I really was from the beginning
To leave Accunamatada, go home and stop sinning

I’m too far from that life now, that’s too far in the past
I desire no worries now and my new friends are a blast
So He picked up a board and hit my head with a whack!
Said, “No worries my boy, now that whacks in the past!”

See, Scar is a hard taskmaster to your true people today
And the top of the food chain are cowering and afraid
While he has you happy here in Accunamatada Land
Your people are enslaved there by your enemies hand

Turn from your feasting, playing and procrastination
Remember your calling and your true destination
Stop living in complacency here without an scars
While your family is hungry and weary at war

Get up from that couch now and turn off that TV
Your Father is waiting, get down on your knees
Intercede and cry out and show that you care
For your brothers and sisters who suffer out there

Then I remembered, I was the son of the King
And my brothers and sisters were suffering
I turned around and ran back as fast as i could
I had family to save and save them I would

Paid In Full

If your automobile insurance was all paid up to date
And you suffered a loss, just what would you say?
Would you say, “Mr. Repairman, I will pay the bill”
I don’t believe Allstate will do what they say they will

If one paid for your families health insurance policy
And a family member had to have a small biopsy
Would you have the confidence to make a claim?
Or pay it yourself, since they weren’t to blame?

If one bought life insurance for your burial and plot
And you died, would your survivor say, thanks a lot
But I think I will pay for this all out of my own pocket
After all it was not me, but another that bought it?

If you owed a debt so big that you just could not pay?
And one who loves you said He paid it all in one day
Would you continue in futility to pay, in unbelief
And pay for all eternity, a promise you can’t keep?

If you were on death row, for all of yours sins to die
And someone gave their life for you a sacrifice
Would you start a new life, like you were born again
Or continue to live your old life of shame and sin

Jesus paid your debt, Gods word is your guarantee
All you need was paid by Jesus death upon a tree
You can pay the cost, not believing you are free
Or cast all your cares on Jesus, fully redeemed

If you can trust Allstate to do what they say they'll do
Then surely you can trust in the Word of God too
If you can trust when 'you’re in good hands” they say
Then trust the nail prints in His, It's you He died to save

Forgive Me

There we were all tightly fit in a round circle of love
Pipes jointed one to another fed love from up above
Love was flowing through, with fruit each one supplying
Peace, patience, long suffering, we were not denying

Through the pipes a rumor flowed, meant for me to hear
They never liked me, I knew that, so why should I care
I didn't see the enemy laugh, as I became disjointed
I did not love but did uncover, as my finger I pointed

Then that one became offended and kinked up it's head
"I know that I am right and I can't forgive them yet"
Guilt and condemnation came and kinked the other low
It wasn't long before the love there ceased to flow

If I think more highly of myself than them, I am risen
I stop the flow if I don't forgive, and I can't be forgiven
Forgiveness can't flow to me, if I rise above my brothers
To receive the fruits of love, I must humbly love the others

Now I see and understand, "you reap what you are sowing"
If I don't sow fruits of love, it will keep me from growing
If I am to blame for hurting you or causing you to grieve
I ask for your forgiveness and forgiveness you'll receive

His love flows through my rusty pipe with some impurities
But as loving fruit flows through from you to me, it cleans
Humbly forgive my haughty pride that hurts, but don't forget
I am still under construction, God is not finished with me yet

He is using you to wash out of me these ugly impurities
And for you to learn long suffering and mercy, you need me
He cannot come, make us His bride, till we are one indeed
Until the weld of love that flows, brings us in unity

For all our hurts and insults were laid upon His back
All He asks from us, is that we do not take them back
He said, "Father forgive them, they know not what they do"
And to us He says, "Forgive them as I have forgiven you!”

Jesus Is Trump

What you need in your life you will find at Jesus tomb
There you will find the stone has been removed
He did not have to move the stone so that He could get out
But so that we could see inside the tomb and look about

They supposed He was the gardener that Easter morning
They looked and saw the stone removed, in their mourning
Why do you seek for the living in a tomb among the dead?
He is not here as you suppose, He is risen, just like He said

Why do you search among the dead and expect to find life
As if you expect to find light in the darkness of night
You won’t find life in drugs, jobs, sex, or in your looks
By attending church on Sundays or in self help books

See your life as a game of cards, and you have a bad hand
Use the empty tomb as your wild card, and you’ll understand
Jesus name is I AM your hope: I AM your trump over sin
I AM the truth and the life: I AM all that you need to win

Why do you search for what gives you life among the dead
Christ is your life, your living water and your daily bread
In Jesus name loose yourself from every death tie that binds
And give your life to Him as water and He will make it wine

Do You Understand?

My Word Is True

When I said: “Fear not, I am with you always”
Did you think that I meant only some days???

When I said: “I will work everything out for your good”
I thought the word everything would be understood.

I said: “Be anxious for nothing, pray and then stand.”
Just what part of nothing can you not understand?

I said: “Cast all cares on me, I care more that you can.”
Just what part of all can you not understand?

When I say: “Enter into My rest for I have a good plan.”
Can you not enter because you can not understand?

When I said: “I love you, you are safe in My hand.”
Can you believe, when you can’t understand?

I said: “Be still” If you can trust me when you don’t understand
Then you will sing come whatever, and then you will dance.

My Mommy

My Mommy

They say friends are friends forever if the Lords the Lord of them
And that friends cannot say never for heavens without end

But as long as we are here on earth we will always miss her
And if we had her one more day we would all just hug and kiss her

She was almost blind, could barely walk, and her side hurt all day long
But at 86 she still had a good life and to murder her was so wrong

I think that I will call her when I have a minute now and then
I am soon aware that she is not there and the emptiness sets in

There are the things I did not say, that I wish I could have said
I did not even get to say goodbye or kiss her on her head

The Bible says we have those watching, who have gone before us
So she is watching over us and she loves us and adores us

We can’t go back, but it’s not too late to make our Mother proud
She sees us and she hears us with the angels gathered ‘round

Why Do You Hide

My child you are like precious gold to me
While the impurities within you, I can see
Let them bring you to me, not keep us apart
I created you and love you, just as you are

You have always walked naked before me
What you would hide, I have always seen
As you love your child, not yet conceived
Knowing their dirt, you will have to clean

All the gold in my house is as you are now
Not better, not worse, so don’t hide or cower
If you could see their hearts as naked as I do
Satan could not separate them away from you

The refiner of his treasure does not say
Where, why or how did you get that way?
He understands that when he turns up the fire
That sin will surface, against their desire

He sits, not to separate: no, not to accuse
But so that you can see what he sees n you
That you, like the gold can be made clean
But our enemy desires it to come between

What he means for evil, I mean for good
Even when you don’t do as you should
So don’t hide yourself from your brother
I made you one flesh, to need each other

Deny your fears, disagree with satan’s lies
Where are you? The whole body cries
No longer fear judgment, the pointed finger
Or become a judge of them, a dead ringer

Where are you and why do you hide?
Be finished now with fear and lies
Come boldly, my light into the night
I have called you all beautiful in my sight

He In Me

God did not call me to write my own script out
And hand it up to Him to bring it all about
That I produce or direct my life isn’t Gods plan
Or live out the dreams of my mom or my dad

God gave me the gifts and the talents I have
To use for His will, His purpose, His plan
I was created to be in partnership with Him
Jesus in me bringing the world to the King

God’s plan is far greater, it says in His word
The eye has not seen, the ear had not heard
The good things that God has for “anyone who”
This anyone means me and it means you too

Anyone who would love Him and answer His call
To not play their own life, give up script and all
He is the author, producer, director and the star
He is the conductor, the song, and the guitar

We are like the moon, with no light of our own
But we can light up the night, reflecting His Son
We are the only Bible that some people will read
As they see in our face, His love, joy and peace

The airwaves are full of Gods promises to you
But you can tune into waves of fear and doubt too
Their intent is to distort and destroy His perception
So tune out fear and hate, clear up your reception

We are His radio and with our every broadcast
We sing His songs of good news down every path
If our frequency is tuned in to play only His waves
No one will see us, but only this Jesus who saves

We are His T.V. as we reflect Him and His glory
Showing them His grace as we tell His love story
We are His love song to a lost and dying world
Co-laborers with Him to save lost boys and girls

The Web

I saw a man laying down in Gods hand
He was looking ahead, faking a plan
Insecure in his way, he thought to lie
To make sure his way, he justified

These manipulations, spun into a web
He felt cocooned, safe from dread
As he trusted to his own understanding
Forgetting God in his foolish planning

What are you thinking, to fear a man
And not fear Me and you’re in My hand?
Why do you fear, lie and manipulate
As if some mortal held your fate?

I speak to the waves and they do roar
You’re in My hand, do you want more?
Did I say your hairs are numbered by Me?
Is that so impossible for you to believe?

I knew your name before you were born
And from My own hand you can’t be torn
I go before you, make the crooked straight
Yet, out of fear of man, you manipulate?

Remember: When you want to plan ahead
First look at my promises to you instead
You don’t have to stand in fear of any man
Fear Me only and rest in My unseen hand

Book: Shattered Sighs
