Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

What can I tell you
That you don't already know?
That I know how rain looks
When I'm standing on my head?
That the clouds on Friday
resembled ice cream?
That is takes approximately one minute and thirty-two seconds to swim the
border of the town pool?
Or I forgot my locker combination and cried?
Or that I ran out of shampoo from washing my hair three times a day?
Maybe you'd care to know that I'm now an expert at crosswords, and I've learned
how to spell your name in four different languages?
What can I tell you that would make you see?
That breaking up really hurt me?

Go Away Baby

One night long ago
I felt as though
You were nothing to me
everybody tried to make me see
I went to a clinic
Where they took you away
Gone forever
You didn't have a chance to pray
I didn't know you
You were to young
You could have lived
You could have clung
You had two feet
And ten tiny toes
You could see
Until the harsh blows
You're dead now
I chose the wrong way
I made a mistake
And you had to pay!

Forever Baby

She was there for his first
She held his hand with his last
The breath that was in between
Seemed to be taken away so fast!

Twenty-seven years later
Justice Seems at hand
Not God's judgment
But the courts of this land.

He took our little Ricky
Without a second thought
As horrible memories surface
We all know it hurts a lot.

Seeing him walk by
With a smile from ear to ear
Still haunts us all
And it's been almost a year.

Praying for this family
Every night it seems to me
Because I know they need God's help
No matter what the outcome be.

Beautiful little Ricky
I hope your death is finally "solved"
And I wish nothing but peace
For ALL the families involved.

You were here for a short while
Now we think of you daily
It's been twenty-seven years
But you are our..."forever baby"

Drunken Nights

The night we met
We said no words at all
That didn't really matter
Because we were dancing, drinking, and having a ball!
I watched you all night
And then we shot pool
Your bod was so fine
I started to drool!!
The looks you gave me
I couldn't stand
I wanted you bad
I'm so glad you weren't on demand.
We had one night together
Now you are gone
I'll wait on you
Till forever's dawn.

Key To My Heart

I had closed the door upon my heart
And would let no one come in
I had trusted and I'd been hurt
But it would never happen again
I had locked the door and thrown the key
As hard and as far as I could
Love would never enter there again
My heart was closed for good
Then you came into my life
And you made me change my mind
Just when I thought that tiny key
Was impossible to find
That's when you held out your hand
And showed me I was wrong
Inside it was the key to my heart
You'd had it all along!

Little Boy

Oh please little boy, please don't cry
Mommy went away
Daddy's here to stay
Please little boy, I love you so
Mommy's coming back
She didn't go!
Oh please little boy don't go away
Mommy will cry
While we go play
Please little boy won't you stay?
Gone forever
Still this day

Abuse

Trying to forget what she's seen for years
She starts to cry
She's 13 and ready to leave
Without even saying good-bye
Her parents have beat her black and blue
Not saying or telling her why
She looks around the room one last time
And lets out a little sigh
Leaving this time would bot be harder
Since she's done this thing before
She picks up her bag
And walks right out the door
She doesn't know where she's going
She doesn't care
But she knows one thing for sure
She's never coming back
She whispers a soft good-bye

Can'T You See?

The Love that you have is not for me
I've seat and wondered, wondered why
Why this love can not be?
The rears that fall when I see you
Are tears of pain
I've learned to live with the rejection
That you have given me
You've always made the girls feel so great
They trusted you enough to give you their heart
But you took their love and tore it apart
I thought our love was different
But now I know
I still love you, can't you see
Please tell me why, why this love can not be?

Ricky

His name is Ricky
He's gone for good
He was so beautiful
No one understood!
She went to work
And when she came back
He was laying there lifeless
He had suffered a smack
She cried and cried
Her little Ricky was gone
She could not help him
The damage was done!

Grandma

I've cried many tears
For many different reasons
But when you left is when I cried the most
You watched over me
You loved me
I was growing closer to you everyday
You told me stories
You never told me lies
I trusted you
When you went away I didn't want you to
I knew we'd all miss you
Everyone said you were in a better place
You were in pain
That you couldn't carry-on
I miss you
I'll always miss you
But in a funny way, you'll always be here with me.
