Danny Grantham Jr Poem
With eyes closed
And arms open,
Unbalanced conjoinment leaves souls hungry for that which they so deserve
Yet do not receive
This starvation
Blended with desire and need
Creates false perception
That lives hidden still-,
When eyes open
And arms closed,
Emptiness and anger inundated by fatigue fuel this hunger
As the balance slowly returns
And the slavery comes to an end.

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
Longing
Joy
Sorrow
Impulses
Immediate responses
To a need that goes unnecessarily unfulfilled.

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
Permanent are the stains so short in their making
Lasting from one's eclipse to the others' next,
Yet, this union,
Coming at the most perfect of times
As well as from such different places,
Lives on, lasting always.
The sharing, varied and multidimensional
Opened doors, while forging, what was, until then
Uncharted brings of newness
Experiencing very much, inside and out
Balance needed was created,
This and so much more...
Now, that time has passed
And, while things have changed,
As they always do,
Vision is clearer, far, vast,
Endless---
As far as the eye can see
As wide, hard, and deep as the heart can feel,
After the storm,
Tumultuous and crystal, still.

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
UNEXPECTED
AS IF NOT SAID
BUT THE WORDS
HOW THEY WERE SAID
SO LOUD AND CLEAR
STILL, A REPEAT HAD TO BE HEARD
ONCE AGAIN
JUST TO ENSURE THAT THE WORDS WERE BOTH HEARD
AND UNDERSTOOD CORRECTLY….
BACKTRACKING,
TURNING THE CORNERGOING BACK TO THE VOICE OF THESE WORDS
LOOKING EYE TO EYE
THEN RESPONDING SIMPLY BY SAYING..
“HOW COULD HE NOT”!

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
An unexpected kiss
Caught of guard
Taken so by surprise…
A gentle kiss
So soft, almost seeming to not have happened
But the exchange of sensuality
The touch of a hand upon the leg
Made it real
And brought forth an uncontrollable need for more…

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
A blank space
Unkempt
Overgrown
But, so full of happiness and future
With the nurturing that only time can bring
Change, new and innocent
Full of wonder and inexperience-
Almost childlike in nature,
Springs up slowly because of attention and patience-
As knowledge leads to a wisdom that only experience and maturation bring,
The ups and downs of continual trial and error
Erode the possibility devotion and hard work once brought about
Dry dusty earth is what is left of soil,
Once so dark and rich.
Birds chirp and flock about no longer
Squirrels do not feel welcomed
Those who once shared time and space peacefully,
Now find themselves caught up in a silent war
Full of stares that try unsuccessfully to hide confusion, sadness, and dispair
As the once beautiful garden is now, sadly, lifeless at best,
Struggling, all the while, to hold on.

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
Heart pangs
Beats skip
As breaths become irregular
Calm resends to foreboding fear
While emotions are sorted and maintained deep within the core
Will all this continue?
Will ways merge and move in time?
Or, will they continue on the bipolar orgy of confusion, lies, and regret?
With fears increasing
While ways become more severed than the ones before.

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
Often are the times where all appears but such
And yet, between the lines, the extent to which this is true
Lives endlessly
Thick like fog uncommon
Mist is left to remain
On exteriors once dry and barren.

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
Whispers in the night
Into ears open
Words flowed so, without thought
Into hearts once closed, now sharing
And so, love was made
Within the purest of ways
Nothing given
Everything else done,
All, at once
Heard softly are the whispers in the night..

Danny Grantham Jr Poem
I am searching every part of you
Inch by inch
Starting with your stare
To find me.
I know I am there
Where it is, I don't know
But my stains penetrated your interior
Where I remain
Still searching
Every part of you
I am, hoping to find,
Every part of me.
