Grandma's Sparkling Stardust

Sleep won't come. They toss and turn
I run my fingers through their hair
Reaching skyward, I capture handfuls of
"Sparking Stardust", a shimmering, glittering
Kaleidescope of color. Sparkling silver
Flaming fuschia, ravishing ruby, vibrant
Violet, marvelous magenta and glittering gold.
I sprinkle handfuls over sweet, angelic faces.
With the sound of my voice I paint a picture
Of celestial beauty as eyes are getting sleepy
V-e-r-y sleepy, as Grandma's Sparkling Stardust
Does its magical work. Two six year old twin
Girls are drifting off to sleep.
WOW!! This stuff really works! The power of
Suggestion is truly amazing!! Sweet dreams.

The Night of Betrayal

It was a dark and ominous night
The blackened sky cast a foreboding shadow
The air was charged with the expectancy
Of impending doom as the eerie moon hung
Pensively, waiting for the foretold events to occur.

A lone figure stood by the tree
Struggling, suffering mental anguish
As He thought of what lie ahead.

Soon they descended, encircling Him like
A mad pack of ravenous wolves.
Shackled with heavy chains they dragged Him away
He--like a lamb led to the slaughter--silent.

But He was pierced through for our transgressions
He was crushed for our iniquities, the chastening
For our well-being fell upon Him and by His
Scourging we are healed. All of us like sheep
Have gone astray. Each of us has turned to his
Own way. The Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him. (Isaiah 53:5-6)
