Don'T Let Anything Pass You By.

I dare you to swing from the monkey bars
I dare you to try and touch the stars
I dare you to chase your dreams
I dare you to rip the seams
I dare you to find the key
I dare you to kiss me
I dare you to hold me tight
I dare you to start a fight
I dare you to win a race
I dare you to set the pace
I dare you to sting a bee
I dare you to marry me
I dare you to stop the war
I dare you to go explore
I dare you to become rich
I dare you to miss a stitch
I dare you to rescue me
I dare you not reluctantly....

Why does it seem that everything has to be provoked? Just explore the unknown, no this isn't a joke. Keep
trying new things and never stop trying because you don't want to have any regrets when you are dying. Look
at all the things that you can try, I just listed them there, there are no limits, just fly!

Money Can'T Buy Happiness

When all of your hope hangs in a 2 percent
You set out on a mission to find out where the other 98 went
It lies in the hands of something sweet has honey
As dangerous as fire, of course its money
It brings you up and takes you down
It will buy you a fancy house in town
It will destroy your life if you don't have enough
You'll leave your wife when the getting is tough
You can buy things with it that are illegal without fail
but don't worry if you have enough it can get you out of jail
It can make you look pretty when your really not
It can get you out of winter and too a tropical spot
It can save you and give you an education
It can get you out of a sticky situation
It can buy fake affections and desires
It can rebuild things destroyed by fires
but unfortunately for some it has no affect on people who are real
People who have extreme emotions and can actually feel
To keep people in my life forever I would give my every penny
But honestly, I don't think I have that many.

Boring Class But Saved By the Bell!

Clock ticking like crazy while my teacher is explaining
Scribbling on my paper during the time that is remaining.
Watching the clock religiously as if time would speed up
the teacher takes a sip from his big blue coffee cup.

Due to his monotony I have no idea what hes speaking about.
as he writes on the white board I try to tune him out.
Interrupted while thinking about what lunch is today
my teacher asks about the topic and if I have anything to say.
He stares at me rudely as a smirk spreads on his face
I know hes secretly excited that he gets to put me in my place.

I stutter as I try to remember what exactly he was asking
I wouldn't be in this dilemma if I was good at multitasking.
Press my lips together and hope the bell will ring
but I feel as helpless as a baby bird with a broken wing.
Maybe my facial expression will make the teacher think I'm pondering
even though he knows this whole time my mind has been wandering.

Teacher bows his head in complete and utter frustration
I knot my eyebrows together in false concentration.
The teacher clears his throat but its not heard very well
because at this moment I have been saved by the bell!

Essential Questions

“Why?” I spelled out with my finger on my bathroom mirror
A pair of green eyes glared back at me through the wavy letters
I looked behind me but when I turned back the steam from my shower had washed away my essential
question, and the eyes.
I raised my hand and felt the cool mirror on my open palm as I cleared a space hoping to find the eyes under
the thick layer of gray haze
There they were again, the pair of eyes, but this time a small pink mouth accomplanied it and a blurred vision
of the rest of the face.
Suddenly a cloud of thick steam englufed the farmiliar look.
I raised my palm again, and with a circling motion I could see the green ovals sparkling
I breathed in deeply and felt calmed as I inhaled a cloud of steam, clearing my throat I stared into the eyes
until they faded.
I was curious
“Who?” I spelled out with my finger on my bathroom mirror.
Hoping to see the face again
I stopped my running shower, and as if this were the answer the face reappeared.
This wasn’t enough.
“Why?” I tried to write over the face.
This didn’t work.
 I asked it out loud.
I screamed it out loud.
I whispered it to myself.
Could this question not be answered?
Such a simple question
Yet another?
Such a complicated answer
“Who?” I tried again
The face stared back at me in frusteration, she knew something that I knew as well.
I realized
I nodded at the face and the face nodded back to me
We both knew.

Never Be Afraid To Speak Up

Big brown eyes and long brown hair
Shes so beautiful it isn't fair.
With every step she seems to glow
she's so pretty but she doesn't know...

High school jock with long strong legs
hes wasting his years drinking down kegs.
The beautiful girl stands near by
but she can't approach him she's far to shy...

Watching this girl for many years
scrawny boy with large round ears.
Big huge glasses that cover his eyes
want's to talk to the girl but hes far to wise...

Scrawny boy with the large round ears decides
hes going to overcome one of his fears
he walks up to the girl and asks her her name
just as the jock scores a goal that wins the game...

He tries again but she sends him away
she says she doesn't want to see him any day.
He walks away with his heart broken
shut down just after the moment he had spoken....

Beautiful boy with the golden skin
every girl want's to be with him.
After watching the jock break the beautiful girl's heart
all he could do was watch her fall apart....

Beautiful girl looks his way
This was what he'd wished for every day
but now many years later, looking back
he remembers himself the scrawny boy
and how she made his heart crack....

This is a message to give everyone a chance
don't judge people with a once over glance.
Treat everyone right because its the best thing to do
You'll live your life happy the whole way through.

Fairy Tales Gone Askew

It all started when Sleeping Beauty slapped Cinderella
Then Snow White retaliated and hit her with an umbrella
as Ariel the little Mermaid's tail turned into legs
Prince Erick and Prince Charming stole the Easter bunny's eggs.

As Alice from wonderland grew five times her size
Hansel and Gretel attacked her by surprise
While Puss in Boots fought Peter pan
Captain Hook and Ursula produced an evil master plan.

Rapunzel chatted with Red Riding hood
and the three little pigs were up to no good
Thumbelina still aspired to grow
and Rumpelstiltskin has a name he thought no one would know

Jack climbed the beanstalk which was later cut down
by the woman in the shoe who stole Cinderellas wedding gown.
The wicked witch of the west set the woman's shoe ablaze
and Dorothy clicked her heels but didn't return home for thirty days.

When fairy tales get messy this is what well never see
but this is what fairy tales would be like if it were up to me...

Ode To Everything We Take For Granted

We all know what living is
We all had our lives given to us.
On a silver platter, a road for life mapped out for us,
but we aren't always serious
about the people near and dear to us,
because we're usually delirious about the life we take for granted.

When we have roofs over our heads
and sheets on our bed
then how come on the streets people
are frozen with defeat and have to compete for some food.

How can we watch people's lives fall when they stand against a wall with a sign?
No use at all, praying to god as their pride crumbles.

We watch them stumble with their heads down low and nowhere to go and I think,
Where is the kindness planted?
Why do we take our lives for granted?

How could we stoop so low while we live in houses they have nowhere to go
- couldn't we lend them something...
Oh no, one person could make a difference if they spoke out loud
show their faces to the crowd.
A difference could be made
all of us could be of aid.

So dear reader I hope you see
the message that coming from me
and as I've gone on and almost ranted
Why do we take our lives for granted?!

The Weight of Beauty

Maybe I was naive to overlook your faults
Your looks were blinding I got caught up
I should have just ignored you yet
I turned your way, unfortunately
Desire of something I thought I couldn't have was so intriguing
Unsurprisingly, not lasting long
I managed to keep it going
Until you turned me away
How could someone so beautiful be nothing more than that
I never believed looks could be this deceiving
Then I met him
Maybe I was shallow to overlook his soul
I actually took time to get to know him
No one understands why I turned him away
Such a hard thing to do but
Looks can be hampering
A huge roadblock
Sometimes too hard to push past
But why should they matter so much?
Such a hypocritical question of me to ask when I myself can't get over it
Why does someone so good have to be only so on the inside?
But maybe being naive and shallow teach me something
Terrible qualities lead to mistakes which can lead to wonderful lessons
If only I had savored the time, lived in the moment and not rushed it
I would have been able to enjoy and appreciate what I had just then
Looks shouldn’t matter as much as they do
Once you find a beautiful person, love them from the inside out for everything they are
After all, don't you want the same thing?

R.E.S.P.E.C.T

Reach over and grab my hand.
Eat up every moment we have together.
Spend all of your time as wisely as if you don't have any more.
Place your other hand on my knee.
Enter my world, it can become yours.
Comfort me when I need you, I will do the same.
Tell me everything, what more can I ask.

Angels In My Dreams

Angels deliver me the message in my dreams,
Once my eyes shut
I'll be waiting for you.

Angels tell me what I’m supposed to know,
stop my subconscious mind from wandering
to places it shouldn't go.
Curiosity is spreading like wildfire
come and take me away before it destroys everything.

Angel give me your wings and teach me how to fly
so I can spread messages in the night
and be one among you
because once my eyes open
I know you will be waiting for me.......
