Another

People ask me why I wear black
And bitterly I shall snap back
Lack of color helps me conceal
How it is I truly feel
A colorless life, harsh situations
But no fear of implications
There is no color, can be no blame
I can hide in the dark, free from shame
Colors only distract attention
From the reality, the pure intention
I am broken, I am insane
I feel a never ending pain
Now I ask you, go away
So I can cry another day
Another day of hurt and sorrow
An endless day, awaits tomorrow

Why I'M a Poetess

I'm just a kid, and life is a nightmare
I'm forced to be mature beyond my age
Using my writing as my therapy
Scrawling my thoughts across the page

Every couple days or so
a poem or two I write
I can't sleep while my thoughts process
So i scribble throughout the night

I give you all my thoughts and fears
this is the reason that i write
so that i can clear my head
giving me the strength i need to fight

In this book i write the things
that i cannot say to their face
but letting it all out on paper
helps me to keep my place

writing poems calms me down
and puts me back in control
I have been writing poems for a while no
since i was twelve years old

Writing puts things in perspective
shows me another point of view
it helps me work out what was done wrong
and shows me what i need to do

If you look closley at what I write
I think that you will find
That exposed on these many pages
is the darker side of my mind

Everything i feel, i write
my thoughts are a tangled mess
I write to clear my head and keep myself sane
thats why i'm a poetess

Slow Down!

In this fast paced day and ag
all anyone has in mind
is finishing school, growing up
leaving childhood behind

regardless of the circumstances
and regardless of what they needf
parents push their kids too hard
the key emphasis is speed

"Quick quick! hurry up! Learn faster
are you out of your mind?
You can't afford to move that slow
your going to be left behind"

Pushing children to act like adults
expecting matruity beyond their years
never listening to anything they have to say
not their questions, doubts or fears

Underage we have no voice
we are neither seen nor heard
but the things you expect us KIDS to do
are really damn absurd

a generation of adolescants
pushed ahead and forced to compete
fighting in the adult world
attempting to find their feet

Listen, we are not ready
to act and think like you
when we grow up, we will go on
and do the things you do

You have CHILDREN in the workforce
struggling for their wage
with the whole world on their shoulders
before they are of age!

Give us a little more time
before you put us to teh test
let us learn just a little bit more
before we have to compete with the rest

Worth Fighting For

I don't know what to tell you
You're all driving me insane!
The last three weeks are the last two years
Starting all over again

I don't have all the answers
to the questions you're asking me
How am i supposed to know
When i dont know where i will be?

I simply cannot handle this
it just keeps becomming more
You're doing it all over again
just like you did before

i'm cracking under the pressure
i'm struggling don't you see?
I'm trying to do the best i can
so that you are proud of me

Cant you hear me yelling
that i dont know what to do?
i am really sorry
that this time i cant please you

i am not your servant
this is MY life to live
i dont care about the insults
nor the criticism thay you give

if you keep treating me this way
things wont turn out right
you had better stop pushing me
if your not prepared to fight

I wont give in, i wont give up
i've been here and done this before
I'll pull myself together, keep moving on
because my life, is worth fighting for

Into the Adult World

Thrown into the adult world
With not a word of warning
All of a sudden everythings changed
A brand new day is dawning

Like a dog thrown into a pool
You better learn how to swim
You better learn pretty damn fast
Your brand new life is about to begin

Time to test your talents
find your weaknesses and your strenghts
see if you can cope out there
see if you have what it takes

I know its really scary
to be pulled from your comfort zone
it takes a really, really long time
to adjust to living alone

But try to welcome the challange
don't try to run away
Just do the very best you can
and happiness will come your way

Proud of Myself

Don't judge me
You dont know who i am
I know what i cant do
I know what i can

You dont know who i am
or what chords i have hit
So dont try to push me
Cos' you know i'll fight it

I'm a stronger person
Not a doormat anymore
I have more determination
that i ever had before

take me to my limits
push me further on
you dont know what i can do
you wont believe what ive done

i know that i can cope
no matter how hard the strain
i'll live to fight another day
then start the fight again

nothing is out of reach
nothing is to hard
I know I've got a long way to go
but i know i;ve come so far

I took the past
i forgot about it and let it go
and now you will see
im stronger than you;ll ever know

anything i want to do
i'll do it on my own
i am proud of how far i;ve come
and how much i have grown

the dreams i had so long ago
migh one day come true
it will depend on how hard i work
and what i am willing to do

and i WILL do anything
to be the best that i can be
But im not trying to please you anymore
i'm working only to please ME

Untitled- About Life

Just when you think you know
The direction you're heading in
The path you are on splits into more
And your plans end up in the bin

Life is full of many choices
Many avenues you can take
don't let others decide for you
these are YOUR choices to make

Calculate all the risks
Beware of the unknown
Which ever choice you decide to make
Make it on your own

Don't let others pick a path for you
it seems much easier, i know
But they have no idea what you want
or where you want to go

Balance what your head is saying
with what you feel in your heart
Remember, you, your friends and family
Will one day be apart

Don't look where you have been
Yesterday is history
Try to think of what might be to come
Tomorrow is mystery

Work your hardest every day
oneday you will be thankful that you did
and you will sit back laughing
at what you were like when you were a kid

Savor every single day
time is too important to waste
life has so much more to offer
So far, you've had but a taste!
