Ode To Trevor

We'd really like to thank you
i'm sure you left it here with love,
it really was so kind of you
but we didn't want your bug.

We thought you'd like to know
we really felt the pits
we thought of you quite often
when we had the squits.

Next time you come to visit
please leave your bugs at home,
'cause, when you bring them with you
they sure do like to roam.

So next time that we see you
I hope you come alone,
you can bring Rosie and Katie
but leave your bugs at home.

May your married life be fruitful
and full of color,
And may your life together 
be forever entwined,
like ivy on a wall.

Spring

Springs around the corner
what wondrous things we'll see,
bulbs popping up above the ground
giving joy to you and me,
time to tidy up our plot, lots of digging too,
weeds to pull, beds to hoe
lots of things will have to go. 
 
You have to be a little brave
if that rose you want to save,
but you will learn that over time
you've got to be cruel,  just to be kind,

The flower beds need a tidy
take all that dead stuff off the top,
veg plots being well dug over
hoping for a bumper crop.

Seeds to sow, hope they'll grow !
then the lawn will need a mow.

And when all the hard work is done
you can sit back and be pleased, 
wind , rain and sun you have grown all you need.

Where Are All the Fairies

Where have all the fairies gone
where do they go at night.
Do they take to the wing
and off they go in flight?
I thought that they were down
at the bottom of the garden path,
so when i'm in the garden
I look close down in the grass.
So why is it that when
I am tucked up in my bed
I can hear them laughing,
Or is it in my head?
I wish that I could tell you
just where those fairies be,
But when I go and look for them 
they always seem to flee.
We've even had a fairy ring
upon our lawn appear,
But even then our search for them 
they seem to disapear.
One day I'll find the fairies
but till then, even if I fail,
Il'll always believe in them 
it's not a fairy tale.

My Smile

A good dentist is hard to find
the treatments ok
it's the paying I mind.
The background music
makes me relax,
fillings, extractions
you just have the knack.
I'm glad that I don't need
to come back for a while,
And I'd just like to thank you
for giving back my smile.

25yrs of Love For You

The first time I met you I will never forget,
I fell in love with you the moment our eyes met,
In December that year it was the best day of my life,
when we took our vow's and you made me your wife.

We didn't get engaged,
we didn't need that kind of thing
and 20yrs later you bought me a ring,
When I opened that present what a surprise
I've got to admit it bought tears to my eyes.

Two wonderful children,
a girl and a boy.
Over the years there's been laughter and joy,
there's been times that we'd  fight and argue it out,
but our love for each other was never in doubt.

For 25yrs we have been blessed
with much love and happiness,
and now to make our lives complete
three wonderful grandchildren for us to treat.

The Girl

See the girl living on the streets? does anyone know she is there,
Do you see that girl down in the dumps? and does anyone care.
We don't know the reason that she left her home and do any of us want to know?
She's out in all weathers without any covers in rain, hail and snow.
Does anyone wonder if she's ever lonely when we're all tucked up in our beds,
when she's wet and cold,  and we're warm and cosy does it ever enter our heads.
She might have been beaten when her home she left, she's sad and she's lonely and often bereft. 


Does anyone see me alone on the streets? trying to smile at all that I meet,
asking for pennies for a warm cup of tea, we're not all on drugs, at least not me.
I'm trying to avoid going down that road I try to remember the things I've been told.
Stories of people lying in the gutter, and people passing by all of a mutter.
Do they care, what they see there? I suppose they think it's everywhere !
But I would like to say to all of you . I don't take drugs, I'm one of the few.
So to all of you sat home by your fires, spare a thought for me,
when you pass me by tomorrow, I'd love a cuppa tea.

We only have one life
this is not a rehearsal
live your life

Today ( In Loving Memory of My Stepmum Jem) Who Had Terminal Cancer.

What's most inportant in life?.... today
not tomorow but now,
Now is for living, loving, giving...today
yesterday has memories good and bad
but today is for you and Dad.
You see people rushing, pushing, shoving
everyone in a hurry,
wishing the time away.
If only they would stop and think
they're wishing their lives away,
I want to stop them and say
tomorow is not inportant,
live for ....today
That's what's inportant, 
they should stop and think
It is today that matters,
Every day there is new life
in leaves and flowers
We must enjoy every waking moment
To wake up to the sun shinning through the windows,
the warmth it brings
the birds that sing
children laughing
people chattering
smiling.
Jem you are in our thoughts each day

To Dye Or Not To Dye...........That Is the Question!

It to took me many  years
to find someone I could trust ,
so many different hairstyles
colors black, blonde and rust,
but this time you surpassed yourself
that ash blondes just the job,
and to top it off
you cut the perfect bob.
