Ocean Poems | Examples

Deepest feelings

Let me express my complete emotions
Give all to him who's vast as earth's oceans
He’s handsome and slightly tall
He’s my up lifter whenever I fall
If I can’t spend my days with him on earth
Tell me what’s my life really worth
I’m willing to show him the worst of me
That’s how an undying love should be
He’s my soul-mate for eternity
Together we can embrace this journey of life
With endless sincerity
I love him from the bottom of my heart
And no-one can break us apart
This love of ours will never perish
He’s the man I’ll always cherish
In this world, I may never find
Another man like him who’s one of a kind
I want to give him my all
But words are not enough to say
I rather show him how I feel in every way.

she churns

Premium Member Stormy Blues

Eyes that burrow their way into my soul.
Bringing out what I do not show or share with most.
Hearing the pain in my words before I see it myself.
Seeing the tears well up in my eyes even when I hide them.
Those eyes colored like a storm over the ocean, blue but with the perfect mixture of grey.
Those stormy blue eyes find their way through my secrets so easily.
Calm yet confident, hyper yet sassy. Just stormy blues.

Your Shore

There's a beach where the sand
Won't get in your shoes
Or stick to your skin
When you're covered with sweat.

The shore's always clean
No trash or dead fish
And the water's still
Clear enough to drink.

In your mind, I hope and pray,
There's room for me
To kick that sand around
And be with you on your shore.

you were almost my savior

i'm at the bottom of the ocean
forty feet down
stones tied to my feet
trapped
i'm drowning
air in my lungs
can't breathe
suffocating
vision going black
i feel you
your hands grab me
pulling my up
saving me
thirty feet down
there's hope
a sliver of it
i'm almost gone but
maybe we'll make it in time
twenty feet down
you're still holding on tightly
i trust you now
you'll bring me to the surface
be my savior
ten feet down
i'm relying fully on you
you're the one to save me
i feel safe
which is hard in the ocean
one foot down
so close
almost saved
i could touch the air i crave so badly
if i tried hard enough
but i've already used all my energy
relief washes away the fear
the pain
safety is so close
and then
you let go
after i finally trusted you,
you let me go
and back down i go.

Summer melodies

I remember the summer nights

We were sitting by the sea

Lying on the sand

With the shore's waves covering out feet

While we were looking at the stars

And we were dreaming

Dreaming to free

Young,

And in love

And when we returned at home

Open windows

While the cool summer breeze was blowing in

And in the room flowed the scent of ocean

But we couldn't feel it

We were burning

Under the white sheets...

Premium Member listen To The Wind

Listen to the wind:
it roars, it murmurs,
righteously chants --
In gusty breaths, exhales, rants,
tempestuously pants.
             In tyrants it wails --
             tearing sleeves
             and billowing sails.
It reddens, it pales
the ruddy faces of non compliant seamen
and blithering, pompous beached whales.

Perhaps this poem, too hastily sown
Should have read the rules
before breeze and blown
and not so far from the guidelines would
this pen have wont to roam. But in hindsight,
wind stirs in many out of main focus ways
blossoms beyond bordered-grid of a well centered garden
in orphaned airs, for some, yet, may glisten their sways --

Premium Member The lighthouse at Battery Point, Crescent City, CA

The lighthouse
alone on the hill
just a tree at its side
its beacon
that light

It casts a long light
in a long blink
and then it's gone
in a spin
to mark the shore within

It sits on its own island
only accessible on low tide
the path a bridge
mercurial moat that hides it

The building is lit at night
as well as its beam
presenting an eerie glow
In the fog it seems

Almost haunted
romantic
so substantial

It's survived tsunamis
wrapped around its base
which left no trace
as they ravaged inland

A sight to see
A hike I intend to aspire
up those circular stairs
to peer out through that light tower

Premium Member Drowning In Dawn's Beauty

Dawn's lullaby serenading thy soul

Tranquil waves caress the shore

Morning's golden hues ascend

Light dancing curls and bends

You softy twine the morning ebb

And drown in love in nature's bed

Premium Member Where the Pacific meets the Coast

The beach climbs are harder
the rocks turn my feet
and I find myself walking on my ankles
wading through sand

But the photos at sunset
or as the moon rise
are such a surprise

Like paintings
like fine art
witnessing the beauty of nature
as it shows us all of the basis for inspiration
everywhere

The sea air is so refreshing
the tang of salt
its cool crisp feel
as it laps past me
and blows my hair

The sheen of the sun and the moon
off the water
and it undulates and ripples
It's mesmerizing and beautiful

I seek out the lighthouse
to capture its beauty on the horizon
Its glow too settles on the ocean
and lights the scene in a way
that makes it seem like a painting

A huge downed redwood tree on the beach
a sculpture in driftwood now
but so big as to be a playground

The natural wonders of this place continue to provoke me
and keep me wanting more
from the tiny bits of rock on the ground
to the magnificent scenes in the sky
my senses are always tuned in

And here I share them with you....

Tha 'thela na 'moun English version

I wish I were one of your breaths,
So I could flow through your body and fill you up with life
I wish I were a bead of your blood,
So I could travel through your heart, playful

Oh, to be the moonlight,
So in the nights I could sneak through your window
or to be the summer breeze,
So I could lay on your skin, steal your dream

But your eyes shine to another sky,
more distant,
that make me wish I were a part of your soul,
So I could live alone in Heaven
and be the reflection of all your desires

This way, every time you look at the mirror,
Search deep into your eyes, you'll find me somewhere
I will always be there, even when you cry
'Cause as they say the eyes are the mirror of the soul

But you don't know, oh, how much I'd love
to be a starry sea, to embrace you
To hold you tight, my foam to be your scent
And with my wave to drown you into kisses

A Drama In Two Parts

They left Southampton with a coal fire down below,
Olympic class of the White Star Line, little did they know.
Irish-built in Belfast, one iceberg was all it took as,
with insufficient lifeboats, the whole wide world it shook.
Departing Queenstown, compartments not all watertight,
unsinkable or so they said, until that tragic night...
(almost a six-day cruise).
She was poorly equipped and, as all good Captains do
(tho' that is not his due), Edward Smith
(and fifteen hundred souls or more)
went down with the ship.
And the band played on as the ship was going down,
were they blind (drunk?), out of their minds,
they were all about to drown.
Some thought 'Bravery,' others, 'Stupidity,'
(altho' cold as ice), I can say, quite categorically,
I would have jumped ship if it were me.
Tho' it's a deep subject, rock-bottom at very best,
the play on Broadway (take a bow) you won't see,
of lost lives and broken hearts
is... 'The Titanic, In Two Parts'.

Premium Member Looking for Home

we need adult pants
to confront our dreams demise
before time waves bye ~
moving to a sunny state
might turn our sadness around

no more lush yard land
useful outbuildings scattered
old farmhouse we love
maybe sad byes to willows ~
then hi to palms and beaches

we felt this was home
an old house where we belonged
not our shared fate though
so to sun state we will drive ~
with frowns to wear in some months
