LONGING FOR FATHER'S LOVE

I am not a father
Nor I am a mother
I am just a daughter
That is growing better...

Father, you have been away
I truly wish you have stayed
Hugging me as I lay
I don't need much penny...

All I have been missing is you my daddy
Your love and your real company...

Look, how I am now
I pursued my little vow
Hoping always, You'll be proud
It's alright if you'll not be loud...

All I want is for us to bond...

Yes, I am neither a kid nor a child
Ever anymore
But still, there is that longing
I cannot deny...

I miss you much, daddy...

HANDS THAT DIPPED ME

From your hands that dipped me in cool tubs and soft morn wakes, you were the gentle lion taming my bohemian strains; the lamb of summer rain catching me like a feather on your palm... always, your balm poured moon glow of bliss, erring only when my restless flowers needed to bend: from where pictures stood, time bowed shaping night talks, life’s edges, and paused faces. Then the gas light dripped on lacquered frames, silhouettes fading as I collected our thoughts— marbles in my pocket—to keep me safe from cold winds, rough dreams. And tonight, my breath grows wild, noting the fabric of revelries as I click past lenses : you smile; you laugh. Just when evening’s done, you reach your arms in slow motion to hold me close again...hands that dipped me then, gone, without saying goodbye from a wave of coma when I was only 24. Yet among old photographs, we embrace through love's eyes. Daddy, you're my special treat every day! Happy Father's Day Contest Sponsor: Carol Eastman by nette onclaud

Strings Attached

Carved from tree.
Perfect
dreamy face, sadness not a trace.
A wood carver dreams of having child.
A spirit wistful running wild.

A hand to hold, a mouth that smiles.
He sits there thinking for a while.
Each piece of wood he cuts away,
one step further from that day.

Strings attached to arms head and back,
the image perfect only a soul he lacks.
He looks at his puppet and sheds a tear,
if only he had a real boy here.

No Fairy Godmother to hear his plea.
A dream unfullfilled will never be.
A carved puppet with little button nose,
perfectly formed fingers and little toes.

He looks at the puppet hangs him high.
Takes a deep breath wipes his eyes.
All his hopes cut away with a knife.
Cancer took the dream from him and his wife.

Today Tomorrow Forever

                                 This day has come
                                 The day I've dreaded
Dad I wish I could be
                                 in your arms once again,
But I can only sit here
                                   and think of you instead,
                                I think of all memories
                                 we've once shared
                               I remember all your laughter
                                your love and your care,
                               when I needed someone you
                              were always there,
But know my life is full of
                             Emptiness and despair
                            Oh dear Dad you've been
                             gone almost a year
Still this pain is so severe
My heart is drowning in all
                              these tears
                          Consumed with all these
                           Rage and Fears,
                            wishing this was all
                              a horrid nightmare,
Your truly gone this I know,
I just want to tell you that
I still love you so, and I'll
                         hold on to your memories
                         I'll never let go,
                        For you were my Hero
                         You were my Dad,
you were one of my best friends
That a daughter could of ever
                              had,
Now I know you're up there
                        and watching over me
                        with your beautiful spirit
                        soaring so free,
                       I can feel your presence
                       always surrounding me
I just want you to remember
                             Dad
                    That you'll always be
                    Today, Tomorrow, Forever
                    A Cherished part of
                                             ME.....

I STILL LOVE YOU DAD....HAPPY FATHERS DAY

A man i'll never be

Growing up
My father and me
He did the best he could
Because once we were three

Events happened
And then we were two
His rise and demise
As his life withdrew

Looking back, to the memories we had
They never lasted for years
Some great, some sad
For an ill man he did his best
And in me, I have his zest

He never recovered from the loss of his son
To say goodbye to the elder one
He was hospitalised for months and years
On the day he was taken, uncontrollable tears

The years we shared
Fifteen in all
In every one
He helped me grow tall
To appreciate, what life will give
Remember your past, let your future live

He's all around me every day
For on the wind I hear him say
Enjoy your life, live happily
I hope you get to the land of the free

My reply to you Dad
As you look down on me
The Aura around you
The man I hope to be

I'm my Daddy Made Over

Dedicated to my Dad Jerry W. Niday 3/20/1952 - 6/18/2013

I am who I am because of him
He’s the reason for my son’s name
He gave me my courage & my strength
To stand tall even when standing wasn’t easy
Stand for the ones who can’t
To think and fend for myself
I’m my Daddy made over

Taught me to fight back
To never back down
How to pick myself back up
When I’ve been knocked down
Fight for what I believe
I’m my Daddy made over

He gave me my stubbornness
Gave me my pride
Gave me my temper
Taught me not to take crap
To speak my mind no matter who
Work for what I want
I’m my Daddy made over

How to keep my emotions in check
How to handle large amounts of pain
When in trouble he always had my back
He knew how my mind worked better than anyone
I got it from him
I’m my Daddy made over

Even though he’s gone
I’ll stand and continue on
I may stumble I may fall
May even get hurt along the way
But I’ll pick myself back up
I’ll dust myself off and stand tall
I’m honored and proud to say
I’m my Daddy made over

Life in 4 stanzas

With each life
Comes mouldable clay
Make it, break it
Or do okay

With each day comes
A slice of joy
Simple pleasures
Make our stay

With each light
Comes a shining beacon
That beckons wisps
To come its way

With each will
There is a way
We'll then do more
Than just okay

Dedicated to my father on Father's Day :)

We Lost More Than a Dad

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost half of how we came to be
We lost we four girls first love
We lost our Best Friend

We lost more than just a Dad that day
Our Mom lost her Soul Mate, Her other half
Our children lost their Papaw
We lost our family’s foundation
We lost the glue that held us together

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost the Strongest man we ever knew
We lost the man we looked up too
We lost we four girls Teacher of many things

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We four girls lost our Hero
We lost some of our Light
We lost part of our Heart
We lost part of our Soul

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost some of our Courage
We lost some of our Strength
We lost some of our will to fight back
We lost some of our will to carry on
We four girls lost more than a Dad
We lost more than just a Dad that day

My Father's Footsteps

I can see you up ahead of me
I am following
in your footsteps

no matter how fast I walk
I cannot catch up

your footsteps are bigger than mine
but they were warm
and safe to step in

you turn around
and smile encouragingly
then return to your journey

thank you for your footsteps
when I can no longer see you
they will always be here
pointing me in the right direction

I Hate You Cancer

Dedicated to my Dad who lost his short battle w/ Colon Cancer on June 18,2013

I hate you Cancer
Your vile evil and cruel
You don't care who you hurt
I'll never forget that day
I'll always hate you for it

Your heartless Cancer
You took someone important from me
Someone important from others too
Took people who didn't belong to you
I hate you for it

You disgust me Cancer
You had no right to take him from me
He mattered more than my very own life
I hate you for taking my Daddy
I hate you for taking others too

I hate you with a passion Cancer
You took part of my heart with him
You took part of my soul that day too
I hate you for it
I hate you I hate you I hate you

I hate you with every fiber of my being
Go back to Hell where you belong
I hate you, others hate you
Your not welcome or wanted here Cancer

I hate you more than his doctor's
I hate you more than God
I hope I get to witness that day
Witness the day you fall
And you will fall Cancer

You're gonna lose the battle one day Cancer
I'm gonna laugh and dance around your grave
You'll finally get what you deserve
And you'll never be able to take another soul

10 Things to Eat Instead of Red Meat

Is your go-to lunch roast beef sandwich?
Tomorrow you might want turkey instead
Here is why
In gen. red meat- such as roast beef

Not as healthy as other kinds of protein
Tends to have more cholesterol
Often has more saturated fat
Both things are bad for your heart

Eating too much red meat
May linked to colon cancer
This does not mean
You should never eat beef or other red meats

Just go easy on them
Tasty Swaps
With
Tacos

Try
Fish or chicken
With hamburgers
Try Veggie burgers

With Stir-fry
Try Fried tofu
With lasagna
Try Eggplant slices

With salad
Try tuna or broiled egg
With Breakfast
Try turkey or soy links

With Casserole
Try lentils and rice
With Chili
Try beans (canned or dried)

With Dinner entrée
Try Roast turkey (baked or broiled)
With sandwiches and wraps
Try grilled chicken or hummus

Daddy

"Daddy" the way I call my father
The man who loves my mother
The man who gave life to me
And the man who will risks his life to protect his family.

He's not showy about his feelings
But I know he loves us unconditionally
He gets angry when his siblings were hurt
And he makes us laugh the way he dances and tells us jokes

Now..he left us already
His silly jokes, crazy dance moves now were gone
Coz he went to a far away land
In a place where hurt and sorrow has no place in man

I miss my daddy a lot
His voice,
His jokes,
His crazy dance moves
And his being father to us
I miss everything about him!

I know God has a plan
And I give everything into His merciful hand
Pls.take care ofmy daddy in heaven
Coz someday we'll see him again
And continue the sing and dance with him again...

FATHER

FATHER
Which love is not a struggle to the mind?
'tis easier to think love glides along,
regardless of a road not there to find,
or never caring what is right or wrong.

One love, of child, a father's steady hand,
protecting innocence, through many years
as if he knew the way, and had it planned,
to heal each mortal wound as it appears.

As if all things begin with his okay,
the good, the joy of life to build upon;
demanding right, and hoping in some way
he's always with you, even when he's gone.

The banged up knee, your losing of a friend,
are yours to feel, but his to comprehend.

In Memory of My Dad

It’s already been three years now since you passed away, Yet, those mem’ries of you are alive, in my heart you’ll forever stay; Every time I think of you, I smile with pain, And wish that I can see and hug you once again. My childhood years with you were so much fun, I can’t recall any moment when you hit me with your hand; You always took care of me with so much love, ‘Til I dreamt of Jesus on his bike, showing Himself like you-a loving Dad. You were a very loving father who sacrificed everything, When mom was away for work, you crossed rivers if I get sick; You’d played the biggest role in my grade schooling, You’d always fetched and brought me to school through biking. I remember when you asked my teacher’s permission, I was sick and I couldn’t attend my Kindergarten Graduation; My teacher didn’t agree for I’ll be given an honor, Wrapped in blanket, you brought me up on stage to pin my ribbon. From my secondary to college life, You gave your financial, moral and spiritual support and guide; You’d honed your house-painting skills and you became well- known, A big help for mom and your three children’s education. December 2010 to January, 2011 was the happiest moment for me, You and mom visited me in a place so far away, A happy reunion of only four (with your sis/my aunt) but I was so happy We enjoyed your natal day… I never thought that was your last, Daddy. You went back home and suddenly you got sick, No matter how everyone climbed a mountain, you’d a remote recovery; Despite the pain of losing you as my eyes blurred with tears, I finally let you go to God, in Him you’ll find the most soothing relief. Today is your death anniversary and I’m writing my poetry, To express how much you are missed my ever dearest daddy; I offer you flowers and candles on the altar where I’ve placed your photo, Through my prayer to God, I’ll send my loving messages to you. Dear God, please tell my dad that I dearly love and miss him so much, Hug him for me and through the breeze, please send me his loving touch; Among the most beautiful flowers in heaven, please pick one for me, Give it to him- a symbol of my great love and forever he’s my best daddy.
Feb. 27, 2014 5.20pm A poem requested by my relatives for my dad’s Third Year Death Anniversary on this March/14. He was 64 when he died. It was sent back home through mail and will be read by my 11-yr. old niece on his memorial service day at church. >>Pls. click about this picture. TYSM

My uncle my dad

This is for my Uncle Steve

17 june 2012 10:13 am

Happy fathers day Uncle Steve
I was not yours but you raised me

It was a very confusing time
and most of the time my heart was blind

As I grow older with children of my own
I understand more of you and our home

It was a great responciblity and charity from you
As you took me in, it was the right thing to do

Children of your own and a son passed on
You worked day by day and made me your son

It was hard and I threw my fits
but still you kept me and never called quits

I am sorry for the bad things I did and said
I am sorry for the times I caused you to bow your head

The grouchys and the tired times the stress lines on your face
I understand now very clearly as I run my own race

As dad we do the best we can
to provide and protect with a steady hand

But things go wrong and we make mistakes
but such is life those are just the breaks

We fall we fail
We get back up and prevail

But good time are priceless and preciouse in heart
They give us incentive to make a fresh start

Just as you did time and time again
I push on as dad husband and freind

Thank you so much for being my dad
The best Uncle to have and could have ever had

I hope that you are resting in peace and I hope to see you with our Lord in the east

MORE THAN WORDS CAN SAY, PAPA

The first guy who kissed me by my lips Tickled me down to my fingertips Careful to handle me with every grip Selfless love without a director's script You are my first ever boyfriend Guarding me, every now and then Always ready to mend and defend ''My ideal man'', you set the blend Your strong arms have held me dear My shield through raging storm of fears Same wide open arms keep me on cheer Every time there are thunder rolling tears A gaze likened to a tiger's eye Strict and firm with my cry Yet, tender daring me with tries Letting me free to soar and fly Although now, I'm more than twenty Father, your patience is so plenty Providing me both love and penny Even when things get so messy Us, your family, is your sweetest cherry With every ounce of life's' chevy You remain ready and so sturdy My love grows for you each day Father... My ever dearest Papa. Thank you for all love you display I am sorry if by chance I disobey Do know that I love you More than those words (above) say

LEAVING CANADA

I'm thankful not to be in Canada
Where sad memories live
it asked me for and demanded more
of what I could not give
if you ask what was it worth
for me to have taken the lower berth
I will not hesitate nor eplicate
the answer would be yes.

SYNOPSIS
The lower berth is America.
I love this country and it gave
me the opportunities I needed.

COIN TOSS

Wrong-right, being equal sides of the same coin
when tossed ends up blown by a blast of wind
and falls out of sight.

So who won the toss? Did it matter?
Knowing and not knowing,
questions and non questions,
to the flipped coin each has a truth all its own.

Love, Death, and Rebirth

The signs started in December
When she started waking up in tears each night
She was a normal girl with dark brown hair and darker brown eyes
She had plenty of friends and a loving family with just one thing missing
Her father.

Days passed by and turned into weeks but only felt like a few seconds
Her life just whizzed by faster and faster until it was just a whirr in front of her eyes
Darkness filtered into her heart and mind until she didn't know if she could go on
But she had to. She couldn't let her mother and her sister drown in this same pain
She wouldn't let them.

She pushed all the darkness into the depths of her own heart
In hopes to save the hearts of the two people she had left
Because what else was there to live for now?
The rest of her world had crashed and her mother and sister was all that was left
She wouldn't let them drown in pain too.

She watched as they started to heal in her loving arms
Their hearts started to lighten up once more
But hers was just as dark as it was before
And growing darker day by day
But she wouldn't let that stop her.

Suddenly a year had passed... and then two
It only seemed like seconds to her but everyone else started moving on
Her mother and sister no longer needed her nurturing care
But she needed someone to hold on to
Anyone...

With nothing left for her to take control of, the dark pushed past her boundries
It found a way into her soul
Until all she could see was dark and no light
But her mother and sister were healed now
They didn't understand

The tears came back and engulfed her soul
Bit by bit until she wasn't sure why she was still alive
The grief took over like knives
Piercing her skin over and over and over
It hurt so much.

She started to wonder what it'd look like to be dead
She could see him again if she was
Wouldn't it be so much easier than having to endure this pain?
Wouldn't it be so much easier than having to live knowing she'd never see him again?
It would.

So she started to hate herself
All that negative energy was starting to take toll
Everyone around her was breathing while she suffocated more and more by the second
She wished she'd just choke already instead of living in constant pain
If no one would put her out of her misery, she'd have to do it herself

She couldn't see any light anymore
So she grabbed the pill bottle off the shelf and just hoped it wouldn't take long to die
Deep down she still had a spark of light, but she just couldn't find it
And now it was too late in her mind to change, to turn back and try to look deeper
She was done living.

That's when people started to notice that everything wasn't as peaceful as it seemed
They started to see how deeply depressed she had become
They wanted to help her see the light again before it was too late
So they sent her away to see doctors and to take pills to make everything better
It was a start.

She didn't see a change at first but suddenly she could think clearly
Maybe what they were doing was actually going to help her see the light again
Yes, she still wanted to die, but maybe that wasn't the only option anymore
They cared, and behind all their own problems they were trying to understand
They really were trying

Six months longer she would be treated and cared for
Until suddenly she was sent home from her treatment and care with a smile on her face
She had a new perspective
Someone had helped her ignite that spark in her heart until it was a glowing ember
She had been reborn

Sometimes you have to be able to experience the worst of it
To come back shining brighter than before
And if she had died that cold day in October, she wouldn't of ever seen the best of it
Or known that it would get better
and it did!

And she now sits at her laptop, with a smile on her face and warmth in her heart
It's never been an easy road and it won't ever be
But at least she knows she's lived through the worst
And it can only get better from here

So whenever she feels lonely or gets back into that dark spot again
She can look back on what she's learned and can read this poem
And remember that she survived the darkest depths of depression
And she will continue to survive it as long as she lives
Because she is stronger now than she ever was before ?

The Brook of Memories

Today, a storm blew through
And tears with rain drops fell.
Out of nowhere, thoughts of you
And a pain began to swell.

Yet in my still reflection,
In this somber introspection
A little brook of bubbling joy
Flowed in, as I remembered as a boy...

When God knit a common tether
Through our daily ways and means.
He bound our lives together
As we courted common dreams.

While storms will always be,
And times of loss will sadden.
There is a Brook of Memories
That will always serve to gladden.

Above the loss of those departed,
Is a solace never leaving.
Held dear within the heart,
A brook of joy is heaving.

To sooth the pain of loss
The God of comfort sent a stream
To wash away our hurts beneath
The Brook of Memories.

Fathers Day

Every June it happens,
Big celebration that never ends.
This is their sunrise-to-sunset,
Should us to commemorate.

An attendant at night,
Attentive parent at light,
Presence never leave us,
In every challenges we have.

Greatest gift of all,
A huge thanks for all,
You're our and my loving father,
And I must say I love you.

Rejection in Love

I never hide anything from you,
Told you nearly everything about me,
Just wanted your appreciation,
Instead my angel why gave me rejection.

Just like a kid cry for toys,
Just like a poet cries when being rejected by publishers,
Just like parents cry for their children’s pain,
More then just like that, I cry and cried for you.

My angel now I can’t eat,
I can’t even drink properly,
Days and nights are passing,
But still I am in love and thinking of you.

Please come back,
I will be always yours,
Just give me one chance to prove myself,
Why you have rejected me without giving any chance.

You are so pretty my angel,
But let me tell you something,
I would have still loved you,
If you were not that pretty.

GRANDDADDY

What an honorable man.
Dependable.
Dedicated.
Up Right in his stand.
A beautiful man who is the gate keeper for us all.

He has provided the love.
Support.
Also wisdom to his young prince.
His young princess's applied individually.
His Role as King in our lives.
Rightfully deserved from all us who knew him.

He taught us to be accountable for one another.
Grandaddy did not play with you.
When it came to being angry with our sister or brother.
He held on to us all.
Grandaddy make it perfectly clear.
This is how he showed true love for us all.

He spent more time in our character building.
Teaching us about:
Honesty.
Not to steal.
To stay away from drugs.
True life survival skills is what he taught.

Granddaddy knew we would have set-backs.
Plenty trials.
Granddaddy would always say. “When you fall”.
“Get back up, brush yourself off”.
He never spent time downing us.
Granddaddy's time was dedicated.
To showing us how to get back up.
Again and again.

Visionary who saw the future long before it got here.
Granddaddy prepared us well.
He was perfect in our eyesight.
Spectacular role model.
Granddaddy guided us through.
With plenty of grace.
Plenty of wisdom.
He was our daddy who always had the time.
He was our Hero who always provided us,
a home big enough to hold us all.

Larger than life was our granddaddy.
His beautiful smile.
His very kind heart was the cord of love that kept,
our family together.

Granddaddy we will always love you forever.
Granddaddy you were our everything.
Granddaddy thank you for being our King.

Dedicated: To my granddaddy.

happy fathers day big fat dad

Happy Fathers Day Big Fat Father!

Happy fathers day big fat Dad
I forgot to get you a card but don’t be sad
Its not that I forgot, more that I got distracted
You know what it’s like when you’re mean and tight-fisted

I said to myself as I left the house,
I’ll get him a card but I will use my nouse,
What would dad do, let me see
I know, he’d try and get a card for 20p

But when I got to the blasted shop,
Wide eyed and in amazement I had to stop,
For you see the cards were very expensive
Something I knew you would find offensive,

So after spending my money on myself,
I decided to give you something of far greater wealth,
I know, I thought, I will make him a card,
All sentimental a real colourful work of art!

But then it occurred to me while I was trying to be kind,
You wouldn’t appreciate it because your colour blind,
Not only that (and this broke my heart),
You wouldn’t understand it, being a silly old fart.

So after thinking and pondering all of the night
I didn’t know what to do, try as I might,
I was starting to worry and with seconds to spare
I wrote you this crap poem and I don’t even care!

Words

Words are only not a collection of Alphabets
Words are only not letters used to write a language
It is not only an expression of intellectual knowledge

Words are thought, words are destiny
Words can stab you like a knife
“The Words I preach to you are spirit, and they are life”

Words are the architect of your life
By words the world was frame
It never took His Power or fame

Words can guide the sword
Words can destroy a nation
Words can repair a nation

Words are weaved by the state of the mind
For by thy words thou shall be judged by them
And by thy words thou shall be condemn

Words conveys a message, good or evil
They are the cause and cure of discrimination
Words can indeed bring transformation

Words are blessings from above
They are poems which we compose and write
More importantly, it resonate in our heart at night
