I saw you once,
and the thought of you refused to leave.
The day was fleeting,
yet I wished the same for the night,
just to let the echo of you stay with me a little longer
I wrote you poems,
scattered my heart across notes,
believing I had mastered the assignment.
But no.....
it was your love language
I was only beginning to learn.
This is different.
Unpolished, unborrowed
Its raw from the depths of my heart.
Oh, when I met your eyes,
heard your voice,
felt your touch,
I thought I had tasted life’s sweetest wonders.
Then you smiled
And the world itself seemed to pause.
Damn.
The world confessed,
This girl is out of this world.
Beauty beyond dispute,
grace beyond argument.
Love at first sight?
Perhaps.
But whatever it is,
it feels eternal,
& to me it feels just right.

....................................................
Tingly skies full of surprise oh how I love when with surmise,
the little rascal aims his dart as if it were, poetic art !
His countenance reeks of admiration, which speech can't disguise—
but much of this—his antics—I'd known quite well from the very start.
The cold air in the room is too tempting to chase away love,
yet I choose to be oblivious to what my heart is saying.
No soothsayer need tell me our feelings fit like hand in glove—
yet still I must conceal the tale my restless heart keeps portraying.
He thinks I’m playing hard to get—or fears he’s not quite good enough,
though approval glows on my face—the same he's on both knees for.
Perhaps he believes my "yes" won’t come so easy, or off the cuff—
but truth be told, I might… though not before he pleads a bit more.
My heart is too fragile for love to easily find its way in,
so the longer he talks, the more it begs him for a breakthrough.
My lips tremble when he kisses me, to seal what he calls a win—
When cupid's arrow aims for you, there isn't much that you can do !
Each thread hums —
drawn by patient hands,
dyed in storms and thaw.
The base is pale as morning frost,
fibers holding winter’s quiet breath.
Across it, ribbons of shifting hues
wind like rivers —
green bending to blue,
violet bruised into pink.
At the center, twin knots gleam —
changing under every flicker of light,
tidal glass or meadowstone,
never the same twice.
Edges fray softly,
not from neglect
but from touch repeated, cherished.
The whole cloth sways with a living pulse —
a work forever becoming,
never complete.
Comment toucher une fleur
et la faire éclore
en la pénétrant du regard
jusqu'à ce qu'elle s'épanouisse
sous le sceptre de ton regard
but with a gentle sway
parades her beauty
and so we bow
AP: Honorable Mention 2025
She wasn’t just beautiful—
she was the pause between two heartbeats,
the way the moonlight lands softly
on a world too harsh for light.
Her eyes held galaxies,
but not the loud, burning kind—
the quiet ones,
where stars learn to listen
before they shine.
Her smile wasn’t just a curve—
it was a promise,
a soft unraveling of every storm
I’d ever carried.
She spoke in silences
that only I understood.
The way a flame knows
when to flicker
and when to hold.
And I—
I loved her in all the ways
the world forgets to love.
Not for how she looked
but for how she stayed
when the sky changed colors.
For how she made sadness
seem like something worth surviving
just to hear her laugh again.
If beauty was a place,
she was home.
And if love had a face—
I saw it every time
she looked at me.
In the quietness of the night
I can hear my heart beating just right
In the dark you are my souls light
Thinking of you my vision at first sight
Your imprint on my heart leaves an everlasting trace
Not to mention the smile on my face
God has blessed me with you through His Grace
With you in my life I will run the race
Whatever it takes even at your pace.
A moment in heaven is what I experience with you
Wish you could experience my heart to have a clue
My love for you as strong as super glue!
Admiring you from a distance,
wanting to feel your breath upon my skin,
Looking through your eyes to your heart,
but you don't let me in,
Holding my eyes to yours,
not wanting you to go away,
just sitting here starring at you,
not knowing what to say,
I know you are the one for me,
i'll tell you how I know,
please give me the chance to show you,
I Love You,before you go,
This admiration is just so strong,
I can feel my heart beat fast,
knowing what I have with you,
just wishing it will last,
Babe,I hope you understand this,
all of this is true,
my heart is overflowing with Love,
I have ,for only you......

When I gaze into your eyes,
I see a void down in your soul.
I feel this tender longing,
to give my heart and make you whole.
Your mirrors whisper softly,
"Please come to me, share your touch."
My heart is being summoned,
I want your loving very much.
Words that flow from your spirit,
caress me gently with a kiss.
Held captive in your essence,
why can't love always feel like this?
Tenderness springs from your heart,
pouring in tears from saddened eyes.
I long to quell your sorrow,
bring back bliss, restore warm sighs.
I’m moved by that certain look,
the one that says, "Oh baby please!"
Breathing deeply, pulse racing,
I feel high and weak in the knees.
How your eyes enchant my soul,
with every gesture of your love.
Spellbound by each sweet nothing,
My dreams soar to Heaven above.
Each time your eyes look at me,
I know my hope for love's alive.
I’m pulled inside your safe place,
where romantic truth can survive.
I felt our hearts drowning in the sea of Love,
I tried to cover them with my palm's cozy glove,
Yet they drowned and I could feel it,
I am indeed privileged to see it.
We tried to manage in our mind's raft,
However, both our hearts finally drowned in that sea- Forever and Ever!
There's something about you
that glistens like glass.
I'm not talking of diamonds,
to put a price on it.
Nor the heavenly bodies,
for I have shut my window
even on the moon and stars.
But for you,
I have kept my eyes
and my arms open.
Like a devotee,
I follow your sunlit trail,
tiptoing around
your jagged edges.
I wish I could see what you see.
I wish I was as strong as you seem to be.
You seem certain in all that you do,
I wish I could be that way too.
I Rolled over Upon Clover
Like the Softness of Dreams
And Lo did They Become.
One eye awe the other inspired
To Meet Beneath
The Streetlamp of the Sun.
There you grew Amidst
A Field of flowering Love
Stand revealed; No word concealed,
Within this Perfect Moment ever Sealed.
I can feel your breathing in my heartbeat,
In between the beats, You are inhaled;
The Beating and the Beat become the same.
Our Rolling Dream, Life's Thundered Skies
To Tame.
And you Appear.
An apparition felt without intent,
Heaven sent.
To Be before.
Passing only through the Senses
God Himself, has Wore.
You are the Memory God Invokes
When Beauty Be His Way,
And I am Blessed to Share with You
The Joy of Each New Day.
I drew you today,
your butt came out too big,
your arms weren't as broad as I wanted them to be,
your hair is fine.
There are no hands and feet,
there is no face.
I wanted to show your chest,
your hair that grows there,
I wanted to show your muscles,
I wanted to show more,
but I didn't.
It didn't come out as good as I wanted it to,
abstract is fine.
Maybe one day you'll pose for me.
