Eternal Soul

The soul's forever—
As an eternal spirit.
Leaves this mortal coil . . .
	 Again to the spirit world
And home to Heaven’s Kingdom!

Chasing you or myself

Am I chasing you
Or the moonlight of my dreams,
Like a pair of twins
Upon landing on the moon
I expect to see you too

Lonely Traveler

Lonely traveler
Searched for light in dark of night
Toes, like gavels, pound
ice covered asphalt. Poignant
cry echoes behind closed doors…

Inside, warm bodies
nibble cake and sip hot tea
as sojourner seeks
a smidgen of sympathy.
Lights on, but its dark inside…

Journey: Tanka Sequence

remembered lines
of poetry from youth
just pretty poems
the adjectives and adverbs
hypnotizing my heart

the poetic spell
almost consuming my life
from houseman to frost
and back to shakespeare
and dying inside for truth

so simple and silent
devoid of actual words
so memorable
useless dreams of prized stuff
carried away by wind and stars

Soon I was looking
at real stars and mountain crests
without prettys rosy fins
looking really looking
without judgement try to be

The Journey of Beauty, Fourth Generation Born

From egg to pupa and then to caterpillar - its life has started. When squeezed from its chrysalis, the miracle has blossomed. Flitting through meadows, Beauty seeks its nourishment beneath August skies, delicately alighting on a spray of goldenrod. Petal to petal and stem to succulent stem, the monarch fills up on the nectar that it needs for its ultimate journey. For hundred of miles, an orange flurry of wings crosses southern skies. Reaching its destination, Beauty falls to long slumber. The butterfly wakes with one purpose to fulfill. New eggs must be laid because the journey back home cannot be this monarch’s own. For one final time, this fourth generation born flits among gold blooms, reveling in its last days - its measure of creation. Written by Andrea Dietrich (I learned some interesting facts about Monarchs researching for this poem. Fly By

Past the layby fly
Cars with petrol in their tanks
Going home for tea
We're not going anywhere
Pancake flattened battery

Long Journey

On the mountain path
I walked on and on and on --
At the great cliff's edge
I stepped onto the moonlight,
A traveller in space

Creating art

Don't be discouraged
Every canvas starts empty
Touched by the paintbrush
Turning from ordinary
Into magnificent art

Journey Home

Peace love and faith is what makes a soldier a man. Serve with heart and soul. Now it’s his time to come home with an eagle watching now.

A lovely journey

With a knowing smile
I've set out on a journey
Along your heart's walls
Planting tulips as I go
Why? You will see when they grow

Changes Receptivity

Changes are one of
The things that are real in life
Flow with the events
If you stay inflexible
Petrifying would reach you

Newborn champion

Doubtful? Look ahead
Every newborn champion
Didn't surrender
Losing all the days before
But never staying in them

Long haul

You think I'm sprinting...
This is just the beginning,
Not even sweating
My heart is barely beating
Living for long-haul loving

The search

Looking for the one
I would choose over the sun
The search was no fun
Until we met on a run
And my heart knew it was done

Misguided cartography

Looking at the stars
We play life's cartographers
Hastily naming
Which ones we're meant to follow
And which to pass in wonder

Fearless loving

It's irrelevant
Who I was, am or will be
Till I am for you
The man you won't fear loving
As I don't fear loving you

The third way

Déjà vu crossroads,
What is right and what is left
When love is not there;
Free of self, you lift your gaze,
A third way opens ahead

Not ideal, but the best

Realization,
Wishing for the ideal,
Finally hits me.
Not ideal, but the best,
Life knows where to put you at

Celestial journey

To light up your sky,
On a celestial journey
Of collecting stars
A dreamer adamantly
Won't return empty-handed
