Sleep Amongst The Reeds

A prickly world envelopes
The subtle Emerald skin,
One so delicate as can be scorched
By an Irish morning sun.
Low gulls crying overhead
Keep me idle amongst the reeds,
Eyes wide, sucking in the expanding blue,
Sporadically streaked with white.
Rose dances with Ray
Along the celestial path, and
A blushing glow is born.
Deep breaths.
Salty air caresses and travels
Down into a spongy soul.
Hand to cheek, a rose
Returns to blue, but Ray
Will forever twinkle around
The dusty pink until
The crimson lakes again flourish.
The shriek of wings down the shore
Are now a distant echo. Lids heavy,
The siesta forcing me to sink
Further into the hot sands of the coast.
Light as a feather, eyes dimming,
I see it all as the tide chases me.
Through times of trouble she has guided;
In sadness, she did listen; once again
She draws closer and prepares to lead me
From the woes of the city, the faults of society,
And into a world that is real: the salt of the earth.
I want to swim into unknown, bathe
In the life of her vessel, and have the soothing
Waves wash over me and rid me of the false pretences.
But for now, I will listen to her:
A soothing voice that one must never vex,
Swooshing in and sneaking out.
A light crash of waves against the rocks
Swooshing in, sneaking out;
The drama from days gone by
Swooshing in, sneaking out;
Money and bills swooshing in
“To hell with those” sneaking out;
Swooshing in, sneaking out;
Swooshing in, sneaking out;
Swooshing in, sneaking out;
Swoosh—
Out!

Trip

Dawn’s arms rock us awaken
First light guides our eyes open
A minute or two we bask
Before we rise to the tasks

Buzzing we go, all duty
Not missing the melody
Of plans laid out well in war
When the battle cry did warn

Signs were posted in plenty
In aches of flesh past groaning
Clocks ticked too fast to keep up
We sensed the call to the Sun

Finally armed and fueled
We three and the engine revved
Taking routes always farther
Away from the walled master

Warmer becomes flesh and heart
As we steer like movie stars
Heads high to catch the sun’s drops
Eyes shaded in blissful lost

Soon we are flying through air
Passing green-eyed rooms with cheer
Bucolic scenes blaze colors
How beautifully they merge

Tempo slows as deep blue nears
Silent, the wait comes to bear
Descent is smooth, toes sink in
Digging in grains so golden

It is here we recover
Here, we let go of the war

Can you feel me

Feel me standing there
on the draw bridge
that stands stubburn and erect
over the rushing waters blown by the wind
back and forth.
I listened to the crows
posted on gargoils designed
of eightenth century Gothic architecture
singing their death songs,
when the sun is setting in the far.

The voices of women passing
startle me with a feeling of sorrow
I can't breathe, I am dying.
Feel me, can you feel me rot away?
Slowly but surely rot away
as time passes with ease,
and taxi cabs take smiling, intoxicated faces
to wayward cafes, oh how they screech to a halting stop
and wave to me to get in.

"No thank you, I'd rather walk." I say to the smiling faces
highly intoxicated with the thought of the birds and the bees
rattling around in their empty minds.
Then they drive off, into the city lights and turn a darkened corner.
I look at the rushing water
and feel myself rot away
slowly but surely rot away.

Can you feel me?
Can you hear me?
Can you see me?
Feel my heart thump with slow paces
that manage to keep up with fast melodies.
Of songs that play in your mind
only the ones that make you sigh
and think those one days in Spring time
as you walked over the draw bridge
and paid no mind to the water underneth.
I hear no more talk of you and me, I hear no more talk
of the good old times we all shared.
Time has passed, as I take my last breathe
and hold my chest and shead a tear.
Feel me, can you?
If you can, put your hand to my weak heart
and feel it thump away with every second wasted
on useless items.
Now, see me a man of one time greatness
reflect his life with a reflection in the water below.
How I sigh and cry and breath heavely,
as I feel myself rot away.

The voices of woman pass me by.
Tomorrow is a new day,
for the smiling faces in taxi cabs will go home
and soak their raging hangovers with cool, wet rags.
As I still stand on the draw bridge singing with the crows,
feeling myself rot away.

Can you feel me without you, rotting away?
I surely can feel myself rot.
Such a heavy word, "rot"
So vulgare, yet a great description of me,
without you.

I pull out a shawl you once wore and I kiss it.
As the wind gusts and the sun rises and my shadow
comes to meet me, the wind shall take my last memory
of you away.
And I shall weep no more.
Then what will I do? Shall I walk the streets
and think of you.
Yes you, still rambling all throughout my head
like a lose screw.
Can you feel me? Feel me rot away
feel me think about you, and all your works.
Can you feel me?

The Bright Summer Day

Sun is just above my head, far above the ground in the sky
My spirits are getting high
Sun sprinkling it all over and filling those rays within my bones
Now sitting in the corporate chair is hurting my hipbones
I didn't come out of this box for so long
Now I want to sprint away from this plastic place
Somewhere far, where no one asks me where you come from, they just embrace
I want to be an enlightened soul, where I’m my own boss
To breathe in the valleys and amuse myself with lacrosse

Rain Man

we got a lot of rain man's wearin ray bands tryin to shake hands
with baked fans it a staged plan to get carly rea pants in front of a video tape.
stumblin mumblin bumblin fools trying to get paid
To say f this chick and f that one
whatever absurd word that flows right off of this tongue
got a dirty mouth, here is some orbitz gum
im sweatin bullets and i cant even afford a gun
but its so free if i want to abort my son then take his lungs
so i can be one hundred and forty one
and be here to see the thwarting of the sun

mr. obama who've worn out your welcome
But what do I know? I'm this republicun
who thinks all girls and boys should become
either a monk or nun and never cum
and pay for all of our condoms and pregnancy prescriptions
Or am I christian who cant have fun
because I know hun its wrong to drink coke and rums
till i am drunk and wait for the ring to get buns
then go condemn kids with weed and pokemon

And its sad to think this what our kids believe
cause this what they preach on the MTV
and their heart beat beats to each tweet and re-tweet
till a pick leaks online then they move on to vines
whatever better trend setter that stimulates the mind

My Shadow

Blackness, a dark version of me, badness, negativity.

No matter how fast i run or were i run too your right behind me.

Even the brightest sun doesn’t destroy you, you only exist because of me.

All i know is when i face the darkness you disappear, but to only return when the sun rises.

The Sun

I sit in disbelief of what I've become....
I drink a toast to the evil, setting sun...
I am nothing but treading on being done...
I've run out of clichés, yet I've only begun...
What has happened can never be undone...
No worries, I can't find my gun...
I can't remember my dreams, not even one....
I snear at my nemesis, the sinister sun...
