The Message in the Sun

I went to the sun for a favor
and asked it to shine only for you
to grant you happiness though you may be sad
bright yellow 'midst so much blue

but when the day decides to end
and the sun sinks and goes away
I give you the moon as a reminder
that my love will never fade

though i can't tell you how much I love you right now
and I can't show you what's in my heart
i hope when you look at the sun and moon
you'll realize we aren't that far apart

When The Sun Sets

When the sun sets, The stars shine with no regrets. Darkness fills the air, The moon gives light with every care. The darkness is easier to walk through, Every light shining is so pure and true. Guidence forever are the stars in the sky, With them we find our places lifted so high. Forever is the moon to cast light upon us all, We become encouraged to stand firm and tall. The stars shine with no regrets, When the sun sets.

When the sun sets, Shining its powerful light it never forgets. Though light fades to darkness, It comes about with alertness. Shadows before the eye can see, The little shining light is enough to set us free. Sometimes we are afraid to walk alone in the dark, From which we were given a caustic remark. Guidance Forever is the changing of dark and light, It helps us to be strong and make one last fight. Forever are the shadows lurking at every turning point, If we give in it is ourselves we disappoint. Shining its powerful light it never forgets, When the sun sets.

When the sun sets, The sky is filled with wonderful colors that the ocean reflects. All the animals of the sea, Come forth creating a musical harmony. The waves crash upon the shore, Washing up new sand to the ocean floor. Its a beautiful site to see, The ocean sounds are calmingly free. Who's to say the ocean isn't peaceful get away, Its a calming place to relax and stay. The sky is filled with wonderful colors that the ocean reflects, When the sun sets.

Yum Yum Girl

Who said the sun rises in the East?
That's not true in the very least....
The Sun rises and sets in the West
Where does dwell the very best...
My Yum Yum girl
Sweeter than molasses
Shining and brightening my way
Oh, I do bless
The very day
I set my eyes on my Yum Yum Girl
My heart has ever since
Been aswirl...
For my Yum Yum Girl
Tasty love beyond belief
Oh, what a relief...
To recapture
My Yum Yum Girl
My Yum Yum Girl

A smile that beams
Golden hair that gleams
How I love the laugh
Of my Yum Yum Girl
My Yum Yum Girl
Oh, my, oh my,
My Yum Yum Girl.
My Yum Yum Girl.

From The Glowing Embers

You glow deeply like a warm summer's night,
while I shine brightly as the sun -
opposite puzzle pieces of dark and light,
complementary pieces that fit just right,
causing time itself to come undone.

Through thick and thin,
virtue and sin,
you could be poor, you could be rich,
you ease the edge, you ease the itch.

I will love you more than power and money,
breathe in the essence you emote,
taste your mysterious honey,
sweet and golden down my throat.

When you're right, when you're wrong,
this is all part of our love song.
You satiate my appetite,
leaving just enough room
for me to sip up your tears,
sip up your remaining gloom,
until we have conquered our fears,
and there is nothing left but light.

When the temperature turns colder,
as we become frail and older,
from out of the glowing embers
of our Autumn, late September,
there will appear a most precious gem,
causing me to reminisce all over again
about that long-ago fateful spring,
when we began our passionate fling.

And after all these years, I still sing:

"You glow deeply like a warm summer's night,
while I shine brightly as the sun -
opposite puzzle pieces of dark and light,
complementary pieces that fit just right,
causing time itself to come undone."

Feelings My Feelings

26th &27th January 2012
By Sashi Prabhu (zeauoxian)

Alone I sat on the wet sands, Of the Sernabatim beach lands. The sun reflected blue sky, On the greenish grey waters it looked so dry. A sweltering sunny afternoon, With the heat I began to swoon. Alone, I moved myself into the waters warm, The breaking waves look to me like many a lifeless form. Warm waters I sense splash unto my waist, Cool salty breeze sting my moist lips and chest, sweat erased. The frothy waters seem so white, Feral imagination within me is beginning to run regressive and makes me feel all right. Alone I am rooted on the sandy shore, I have within me, coming to the fore, Feelings… deep feelings inside ignite, Need to hold on to them tight, The feelings incite, A poem in my mind’s eye I feel and now see, that I would have to write, Without any spite. Alone, I am in the waters warm, The breaking waters lash against me and quickly change form, To myself feelings that turn to spirity words I begin to recite, As I cast my eyes on nature around me from within springs delight, And in its own right, The poem begins to rewrite. Alone, I am in the waters warm, My feelings have begun to rewrite, In my mind without any spite, I am now filling myself with delight, As expression is flowing freely in its own right, And will transcend on to paper in black and white. Alone, I now sit, drenched, To the sands entrenched. Melts the noon, And evening falls attune, The sun reflected blue sky, Has now swooned away and I turn a blind eye. Alone, I now sit, drenched, Content in myself and with no feelings wrenched. Gratified….soothened…satisfied…pleased, Relaxed…happy….at ease and contented……eased.

Longing

Longing.

if time heals all wounds,?
my cure lies in patience,?
if sadness makes us stronger,?
sorrow lives as my acquaintance,
the sun rises slowly but has to set again too soon,
the sun brings us the light but is only shadowed by the moon,
the sun shows our imperfections, and the moon leaves them transparent,
but if i speak truth let me be a declarant,
true beauty shines through when under darkness, moon or sun,
your beauty stay true, equalled by none,
time will heal not being by your side,
and the sorrow will give me strength to be proud that i tried,
one day you will find a love much greater than I,
i just long for the chance to say that your mine.

A Poetic Revalation

It sometimes bogles the mind, these things we
   somtime write.
When we get a moment alone to smoke a fine cigar,
with the serenity of a moon-lit night.
Times when the imagination take us to far off and
    different places.
Where beauty is abundant and the fragrances of
    nature fills empty spaces.
Wiiithout the noise of traffic from restless children to
   say the least.
Just the sweet sounds of serenity mixed with solitude and a
    slice of peace.
No telephones can be heard and not a door bell will ring.
Even the birds are asleep so you can't hear them sing.
Just the strenght of the wind to bring a cool breeze.
As it pushes through and creates a harmony with leaves.
With a million pounds of diamonds and the worlds' largest pearl
    to provide the light.
As with the elegance of angels streaks of ink begin to take flight.
As I kick up my feet and begin to write.
About thoughts of all things done in yesterdays' life.
Things like the happiness of children and the mythical nature of a beautiful wife.
Just when a puff of blue smoke fills the air.
To help keep focuse and the inner-poet very much aware.
Where Pablo Picasso and Vincent VanGough unite to reign
    as king.
Where thoughts of a better life give life meaning.
Where the kindness of love or the harmonic symphony of a kiss.
Compare to the ectasty of a womens' touch, when met in tenderness.
Yet when we're alone, that we can't get becomes that in which we miss.
Like the way her eyes sparkle as she begins to smile.
Her superior grace and exquisist style.
As light begins to fade,it's the end of night and the sun returns from it's
  hiding place.
I stand in awe ,as the sun rises and creates a Reimbrant of her face.
Then with a roar from the family beast.
The silence will be broken and bring a end to peace.
From the heart of armantic and thesoul of a poet.
Locked away inside and I didn't even know it.

REGRETS

There's a feeling inside, I can't explain
Somehow good intentions have ended in pain
Its not what I wanted
Its not how I planned
But somehow true love has slipped through my hand.

You were my true love, My kindred, My life
Its hard to accept you won't be my wife
Destroyed and in tatters, beyond all repair
But never forget girl, I'll always be there.

Its sad and unfair how we fell apart
But although its in pieces, you still own my heart
With each sun that rises, with each sun that sets
My prayers are for you, the girl I can't get.

We'd laugh, we were silly, we'd sulk, we'd forget
But when bed time came round, I was so glad we met
Your face in the bath, when your hair it was wet
Your perfume, your toothbrush, I'll never forget.

I've paid for my crimes for what I've done to you
I've paid with my heart, for its broken in two
I love you my sweetheart, my breath of fresh air
The best part of my life with you I once shared.

Always Within My Heart

Shut your eyes, listen

Can you hear the waves rolling in

The sun feels so good

As it dances on my skin

The air, freshly scented

Like a soft summer rain

Takes me to places

Far away from the pain

Warm breezes caress me

Gentle, like your touch

Reminding me of what

I’ve been missing so much

While I watch the sun rise

Then slowly it sets

I think of the things

I’ll never forget

The birth of my children

The smile of a friend

The way my soul feels

When touched by your hand

The taste of your lips

Sweet as honey wine

The melodies I see

When we combine

The distance doesn’t matter

When we are apart

You will remain forever

Always within my heart

Swept Away

Mid afternoon, the sun slams down,
On the shifting sands of a coastal town,
The monument points with a gun to the sky,
The heat haze displaced by a seagull’s cry;
On the quay I sit and look out to sea,
At the distance between the horizon and me.

At a quarter to four I have not moved on,
Wearing haunted looks that I thrive upon,
An ice cream melts in a splitting cone,
Seeping through cracks to a twilight zone.
I take a deep breath and rise to my feet,
So cold and alone in the sweltering heat.

At the closing of day, the sun settles down,
The night muscles in on a coastal town,
I drift to the bar and the sea licks the walls
Of the harbour without where the darkness falls.
I look to the dusk for an answer or two,
But there’s no sign of life, and there’s no sign of you.
