Malta

Mediterranean island, where one finds so much to do
Abundant days of sunshine and the sea is limpid blue
Lavender, thyme and laurel; history spreads in rich galore
The temples, feasts, devotion bring religion to the fore.
Acclaimed for fruit and honey and the fish that’s brought to shore.

This is a friendly nation; you’ll be welcomed by a toast
To the best of health intended to last long while she’s your host.

She gave me a dry idea
Then asked me if I wanted to join her
To go dancing in the rainwater
Only for me to wake up
And find she lived in my slumber
So let me close my eyes again
And sleep the night and days away
To be with her all through this time
With rainbows
in the raindrops
in her hair that Shine

I'm stuck behind moving willow trees
Who are stuck behind a line of white taxis
Wipe my eyes from the wind and water
If you would want this to seem shorter
Don't these stares aim for you?
I've been facing them for a month now
All because of a point of an opinion
On how much worse the sun has shone through

We sat on the grass
And looked out to the floor
500feet below us maybe even more
She told me who she was with tears in her eyes
Her sadness forced me to open mine
Once again she was gone from in front of me
along with her tears and her shame
Pull the sheet over my head and remind me again
Calling out in my subconscious
To her silhouette
To turn when I say her name

I'm stuck behind moving willow trees
Who are stuck behind a line of white taxis
Wipe my eyes from the wind and water
If you would want this to seem shorter
Don't these stares aim for you?
I've been facing them for a month now
All because of a point of an opinion
On how much worse the sun has shone through

For my life
For my love
You make me struggle
You've made me break
But just like stone
I'm not leaving this point
not until the sea washes me away
I still have plenty of time left
To watch the dreams
As my days float on by
For my life
For my love

Friendship

A friend like you is worth much more
Than all the treasures earth can store
Your worth I measure not in gold
But in the beauty of your soul
I think about you when we met
And there I knew my sun had set
A friend so true I then did find
A friend so gentle and so kind
I saw the beauty in your eyes
And then I came to realize
When you placed your hand in mine
My heart in friendship you did bind
My eyes you opened and just then
At last I knew I had a friend

Discovery

  i cannot count enough stars
   to tell how many shine in your eyes
     nor can i gather into one
     the brilliance of the sun
      that your warmth brings
       though the sun and stars pass
        beyond and beyond
         all things that last
          i'll meet you in that discovery

When The Sun Rises

Dear God, when the sun rises,
I can only wish for a better day.
I'm not looking for consolation prizes;
I know life can't go entirely my way.

I just want to love and be loved,
To have hope and a great faith.
Sometimes the choices in life are tough,
After sunrise creates a new day.

Rainbows

Rainbows are for hope.

Raindrops splatter 'gainst my window
Music from the sky;
Each crystal drop a mellow bell
A gentle melody to tell
me ...that your love is mine.

 Sunlight scatters thru my window
Warm touches sent to me
Each photon beam a kiss from you
Sent to me across the blue...
 A comfort wished here tenderly.

 April winds caress my window
 Breath from clouds above;
Daring me to share the passion,
Give my heart in wild abandon,
 Drinking deeply of your love.

 Rainbows Bless my Open window
Sun-drops & rain combined.
The ends connecting us together
Distances no longer matter...
Out hearts are intertwined.

Together We Laugh

Together We Laugh
Walking slowly we see the little creatures in the ocean and the sand. Fish dart from
spot to spot as the sea gulls glide above. Crabs rush along the shore looking to
hide. Arms waving up at us we laugh and watch as they find their spot.
Together we play and have such fun. Laughter flows like music on the waves. Life
here and now is like magic with treasures to offer and things to explore. We savor
each moment and somehow know there will be more.
The sun is warm and the breeze is refreshing. We swim and play in the waves
jumping each one and laughing. Waves splashing and the sun shining soon we
notice some dolphins playing close by. What a sight to behold another moment to
treasure as they too frolic and play!
As the sky fills with color we walk along the shore. Then suddenly I have found a
treasure! A beautiful smooth green piece of glass washed ashore. We laugh and
joke about the treasure I said I would find. The real treasure was how it made us
laugh. The laughter still echoes in my mind.
The moon feels alive as it lights the night showing us little fish swimming in the
waves. The waves themselves seem to be aglow. We listen as they roar and
somewhere a seagull calls out in the distance. Along the beach we see the star fish
and tiny crabs scurry about in the night. We laugh at how funny they seem to be.
 I savor the beauty of those times we shared for such moments have brought such
joy and laughter. The moments we spent with nature in childlike awe remain
nearest and dearest. Today I still hear the laughter.
                                                                                        Debbie Knapp

Scarlet Moons and Indian Suns

Written August 29, 2013

She could have had my son
As we'd spell our names as one
On scattered ocean shores
Beneath that Indian sun

I loved my ma
And I loved her well
I loved my pa
And that musty smell

I hope to see them some day soon
I hope to see them smiling too
This Earth they left a bit too soon
Much thanks unto the scarlet moon

Some day well all be joined as one
Under scarlet moons and Indian suns

I love my family
How I miss this feeling
Of constant embrace
Awaiting at my feet

So come and pray for rain
To wash away our pain
Before the winter stains
What autumn left to drain

I hope to see them some day soon
I hope to see them smiling too
This Earth they left a bit too soon
Much thanks unto the scarlet moon

Some day well all be joined as one
Under scarlet moons and Indian suns

My Friend Sona

My love shines on that gentle smile
Like the morning sun that scatters clouds
That unexpected tenderness
As warm as sun kissed ray

My love shines on that special kindness
That tender smile of that beautiful heart
Like the morning that somehow always says
Scatter clouds of those dreadful days

Those unexpected patient ways
Tenderness a priceless gift
As warm as that sultry and misty
Sun kissed ray on the ground

My Birthday Card for Linda Marie

          ~~~ Happy Birthday~~~
May Spring flowers bloom especially for you
and birds sing you awake on your special day.
May the morning sun kiss the newly born dew.
May the sun shine bright 'til the moon's on it's way.
Your birthday should be as beautiful as you
and nothing less than a perfect day will do,
so I wish you a Happy Birthday, my dear.
May love and joy be with you thoughout the year.
Just another day
Mornings brilliance
lets the sun spread it’s grin
Slowly warming the beds
awakening the flowers
as they raise their heads
birds chorus dawns delight
melancholic tunes contrite
Nature’s charms begin to stir
Doors slam shut and engines whirr
A shout of ‘Hello’, or ‘Good morning dear’,
Friendly waves and nods of cheer
Then traffic jams and people queue
Paper stands sell the daily news
Off to work the adults go
mums to school with kids in tow
A lovely day is off to start
Fulfilled with joy ‘till sun departs.
YESTERDAY HAS GONE BY
I believe that yesternight has gone by,
And this is another day,
A brand new day,
A very beautiful one.
All I could see is the rising of the sun,
with its beauty and energy,
Ready to beautify,
And illuminate this day.
All I wish is to be like this sun unto you,
lighten up your angelic face to a lovely smile,
And a source of encouragement to launch you,
Higher unto greater achievement.
The Heart of my Friend
The Heart of my Friend
The wings of the butterfly are painted so unique
With God painting them how am I to critique
So vivid and beautiful as they float on the air
Showing off their beauty but nothing to compare
The mountains out west are so majestic and tall
The colors are beautiful especially during the fall
When the sun rays hit them they show all their might
The colors so crimson when the sun goes down at night
The colors of the rainbow before and after the rain
Figuring out how God made it makes you wanna go insane
From the red to the purple I know God had a plan
He’s painted the world with a perfectionist hand
The heart of my friend is as beautiful as can be
Like the wings of the butterfly it shows her beauty
Like the mountains out west her colors so pretty at night
Like the beauty of the rainbow it’s reflected by the light
God’s touched my friends face with the tip of his brush
Her smile like a monet and her voice is so plush
You’ll understand one day if she ever lives in your heart
But I’m not sharing she’s more precious than art
There’s no other heart like my friends this is true
Her smile so amazing and her eyes so imbue
She’s one of Gods wonders and God sent her my way
I’m so blessed to have her in my heart every day
Stay
She said baby I have to go,
I said girl you don't need to go,
Because baby I want you to stay,
'Til the sun rise,
'Til the end of the night,
I said baby I'm feelin you,
And I'm fallin in love with you,
Which is somethin I never thought I would do,
But, I did today,
So girl, Why don't you stay,
Chorus:2x
Why don't you stay, 4x
'Til the sun rise,
'Til the end of the night,
She said baby I have to leave,
I said girl I don't want you to leave,
My darling please stay with me,
'Til the night end,
Then come back again,
Because baby we have a chance,
For us to have a great romance,
So, girl take my hand and dance,
You don't have to go,
Baby don't go,
Chorus: 3x
'Til the sun rise,
'Til the end of the night,
Pleasure Is
Pleasure is.
So sweet the seasons sounds,
That makes for those summer days.
Skies make for a back drop of hues of blue,
Sweet mowing grass now sheared as hay.
Upon my face the beads of perspiration,
As I wipe my fevered brow.
The days now long as I swing forth the scythe,
High above the sun beats down.
A shout breaks my concentration,
For it is Mary who is my love.
Under a large oak tree she shelters,
Truly a pure vision from above.
For with her a wicker basket,
Its contents now lay out before.
She beckons me come forward,
Asl my senses cry out for more.
In her tender arms my head gently lies,
Beneath a canopy of green.
 Dappled sun light highlights her flowing hair,
For the world id trade, for these moments gleaned.
Loving touch
Your hands are like sunshine that
warms the inner parts of my soul.
The rays warming my inner being,
keeps me thinking of how the colors
of the flowers are so vibrant and
powerful in  their activity.
As the flowers dance in a slight breeze,
the sun gives way to darkness and the night sky embraces the stars so numerous,
so shiny, so many.
As the night fades, the sun  warms the day,
The breeze picks up the flowers in a dance, and your hands warm my soul again,
with the rays from the suns warmth and the shadows of the colors show the love inside your touch.
Unspoken love
Under layers of sheets against the biting coldness of early mist
in between soft, cuddly comfort of my pillows
and an unseen blanket of warmth all over me
An unnamed waves suddenly washed me
and swept me to the unknown abyss of darkness
unknown abyss of lost hopes, dreams and wishes.
My hands are flailing, searching for something to hold on to
hoping for never-ending hope that I will be swept back ashore
for I'm losing, drowning and on the verge of giving up soon.. anytime!
Like any other dreams that I dream't before
Is it worth dreaming for? Or should I wait a little more?
Would it be a dream come true someday? anytime?
I heard a thumping, so loud it brought me back to where I ended up last night
cushioned in the familiar scent of my bed, I'm awake now;
deaf in my own heartbeat, waiting for the sun to cast his light, soon, anytime!
Mind racing in a speed of light, in a morning Sunday rush!
whilst heart is taking it's pace in a leisure Sunday morning walk
distance covered, places conquered, end of the line will be reached anytime soon.
And from where the sun rises, a secret wish was blown into a kiss
all the way up, up against the course of hands of time
may the faith favor the odds and let that wish be granted... anytime soon!
Just the thought of you
What am I to do can't shake this thought of you if so I'll be blue can't stop thinking
of you
Just the other day I was lonely feeling sad never thought this feeling I would have
now
the sun is shining on my face the blues is gone I can go on just the mention of
your name
your sudden charm has taken the lonely space in my heart I feel I have a brand
new
start when I think of you the sun shines through the hours of the day are gone
away
like magic I'm so glad to have you as my friend a new relationship is about to
begin
I know all is new when I think of you no matter what comes my way just thinking of
you makes a brighter day.
may memories of a dolphin sighting boat ride
Those wooden meant to for all season, Blue painted motored boats beacon, Us to calm green sea waters, To sail on and that’s all that matters. The calm green waters dolphin rides, Deep inside when the tide subsides. Eight pals and two sailors sailed on On a boat with the rent haggled upon. Two and a half miles have gone, Into the waters we sail on, Squealing and giggling in delight, Adrenalin pumped up and over excite. The motor the sailor cuts off, Over and over with a bit of scoff, The dolphins they say swim and are gone By the dull sounds of the motor whirr &drone. Waves they splash frothy sprays On the bodies bathed in hot sunrays, Shrills cries of joy erupt, From us sightseers eight on a glimpse of dolphins seen abrupt. The wet bath suits and sun tans, Some with hand held beer cans, Watch the dolphins frolic in the sea Cavorting in graceful curves both she and he. The sailor maneuvers you to the place Of marine life ,pelagic birds his boat with grace, The sight of these magnificent mammals, Feeding and playing their bodies look coated with enamel. The thrill so great just to watch, These mammals is just top notch This pod of dolphins swim away, We watch through misty sea sprays. Salty breeze seep in our hair, Smiling sun shines on our burnt backs bare, The dull sounds of engine power, The enchanting sounds of rythimic waves in my ears still hover.
Angels in The Form of Friends
The road may seem tough right now like an endless uphill climb.
And you may feel that all lifes struggles is one big waste of time.
Everyone around you seems happy and not stressed
Yet each and everyday you can’t help but feel more depressed.
Even though the sun may shine and the day is really bright
All you see is dark clouds looming with only moonless nights.
Looking all around, you see people who pretend to care
And when you wana speak it feels like they wish they weren’t there.
You build up hate and anger and get frustrated with everyone around
You isolate yourself from the world and in your own sorrows you begin to drown.
You feel like you are all alone and there’s nobody that you can rely on
It seems like another endless battle that just can’t be won.
You feel like giving up and so start losing all your faith.
Wishing that your life would somehow end without the entire wait.
This is where you have to believe and restore faith in yourself again
And realize you are not alone, there are many who will help ease the pain.
I know you’ll find it hard to believe that what I’m saying is true
But when the dark clouds break away, the sun will shine right through.
They will make that up hill climb easier for you to take
and then u will find a smooth road that will cause you no more heartache.
They will be there to hug you tight and listen to all you have to say
Even if you don’t wana speak, they will by your side each day.
You don’t have to be alone or pretend that you’re okay.
They can see your fears and help to end the feeling of dismay.
They will never let you go through another difficult path.
But should you cross that way again, they’ll carry you from the start.
So my dear friend, whenever you feel really down.
Remember you have people here to help you keep strong.
They are no superheroes or have powers of any sort.
But they are just ordinary people, who will be here to always support.
They are people who genuinely care and will bring those tears to an end.
Sent with love from God above, they are Angels in the form of Friends….
You
Before you came into my life, the sun shined, the breeze blew, the birds flew, and
people mingled. Day after day, I witnessed life's splendor through my window. I had
an urge one day to venture outside my captor. The sun still shined, the breeze still
blew, the birds still flew, people still mingled, and I was life's spectator. Suddenly,
then came you, you entered my life like the sunlight that interrupts the dark, like the
music that fills the silence, like the supernova that brightens the sky. Our hearts
spoke an inaudible language that only two lonely souls know; thus, faith has
become our liberator. Now, we are inseparable. As we frequently strolled through
the ravine, the sunlight paraded her beauty laminating our path, birds gracefully
glided through the air as if they were been choreograph, the summer breeze burst
with fragrance caressing our souls, and consequently we became a part of the
cosmos. like a well-deserved gift that is torn from one's arms, so is my heart, faith
has torn us apart. Instead now, we are kindred spirits separated by distance, so, I
retreat to the familiar to witness life's splendor. The sun shines, the breeze blows,
the birds fly,and people mingle.
A Grey Day Brightens
The day is grey, no sun peeks through
But then again I heard from you
A comment here a comment there
In fact comments almost everywhere
The sun is shining in my heart
The greyness of the days depart
You lighten up my cheerless day
Can’t wait to see what’s new today
Your Love Is My Eternal Dream
Your love cuts through me, this power controlling me is surreal
not realizing the buttons you push, and how you make me feel
an inner beauty unmarred, like a magnet, you drew me so close
mere sight of you was my healing, like vitamin C, my double dose
Take my hand and I'll show you, a world where you've never been
it is a perfect world, a world no one has ever seen, absent of sin
eyes to glimpse pure angels of light, as bright as the sun at midday
above space and beyond time, where unhappiness has no sway
Then I awoke and came to find, behold, it has all been but a dream
misled thinking we were in that realm, the realm of the supreme
reminded once again, with a heavy heart, that to love it takes two
but all I have found is a temporary escape, a lost love I once knew
remembering the tenderness of your voice, fond memories I did recall
running barefoot that night, hand in hand, with your rain soaked shawl
as the sun rose it revealed the beauty in your eyes, and then I could see
how captivated I was by your smile, waiting for your lips to set me free
I'm a prisoner of your love, a love that has me bound, it was meant to be
trying to free myself, chained by this sole desire, if you would now see
a chance to pledge my love, a love that only now made me understand
a way to become your soul partner, and enabling me to finally withstand
Release me from the confines of a lonely heart, and let those memories renew
days of the past give new life and meaning, with my love, for no one but you
so let the stars and moon be witnesses, for this pact that we will now forever make
and then once again I will close my eyes and dream, my love to never again forsake
Maybe Tomorrow
The Sun had left the horizon
Far behind when I awoke
To face another pointless day
Being destitute and broke
Got up off my friends sofa
Went and made a cup of tea
Had a look through an old paper
Just to find a place for me
Saw a few that might be ok
But I could never pay the rent
Without job and accommodation
I’ll end up living in a tent
Maybe I could have tried harder
In the classroom years ago
I did not think I’d end up here
How the hell was I to know
I even served my country
But that does not mean a thing
Only when I need some shelter
I can some old mates ring
I don’t want to be a burden
And it fills me up with shame
That I have to seek their help
When they are not to blame
I keep looking on the bright side
At least I still have legs to walk
Unlike some other poor soldiers
Who are too shell shocked to talk
Maybe tomorrow I can beat the Sun
And wait patiently to see her rise
To fill my life with her warm embrace
And her ever changing endless skies
Once a Lonely Warrior
Mysteries of the great colorful sky, your body’s aura maybe seeing
Noticing the birds flying above, feeling the earth’s entire being.
Of the warm bodied bright sun, upon feeling the beautiful rays
I could be staring off in space, being here feeling them for days.
Knowing I might not come back, I reach up in the air so high
To endeavor touch the white clouds, clear as the open sky.
An inspired free willed warrior, the greatness of the open
The pleasure to be free as him, the sky’s rule to be golden.
With the blazing sun shining over, space where he was born
Space which has been timelessly frozen, he was created to lorn.
Left aside becoming quite lonely, this warrior made up his mind
To leave it as it was, the world leaving him to search and to find.
Upon the great discovery of himself, this sun warrior in space
Leaving loneliness aside, the warrior now maybe scoring an ace.
The fire compassion from within, this warrior that came to be
The sun inspired warrior of truth, has come to make it history.
Freely roaming this open space, this warrior coming to realize
Being free with out some one, the space now hearing his cries.
This warrior now wishing for a friend, maybe just like you
His lonely wish to have a companion, came undoubtedly true.
Not so alone with his buddy, traveling space joined together
Not with any care in the galaxy, for he’s not having any more anger.
Once a lonely warrior, making the very best of the smallest things
Now becoming free together, spreading the most beautiful wings.
The saga of the dusty road
The Saga of dusty roads of Utah
(To the memory of Don W. Esplin, father of Kathryn Esplin-Oleski)
= =
There he was playing with some mild explosives,
in his own backyard, a resolute boy he is;
the June month had swelled like the taut belly of
a neighborhood lady; the boy wanted to be
a scientist which he became. He, of course could not
envision that all these sepia dust of Utah,
the noon backyard and a young scientist’s narrative
would be remembered by his explosive daughter
and a strange Indian was going to pen a saga.
Alfred Nobel was smiling from a page of a book
The boy rolled a cigarette, the smoke’s curlicues
swirl up to grain the picture. A blast almost choked
the bright blue jays and robins. Defused sun slanted.
The end of the road was just an end of the road
where sun could meet earth, warm grass shook off the heat
and the covert window of the farm house would yield
a father and son talk. Strong argument on
future, on an university, on money
on a world that could differ in generations;
of course the boy, as a father, understood
his girl, then living apart. But distance is in heart.
He would grow up midst dreams. A quirky wind would blow him
here and there; navy, marriage and science,
pharmacology and marriage again; a gust
of wind would take him on a ride that, if he could
read this he would have said, resembled his truck rides
down the roads of Utah. But at that point of time
he was wide awake inside his misty night’s sleep
and an American novel is shooting up
its multiple heads in search of fresh oxygen.
The waves of moon were enjoying a full tide.
Why...Jenny?
the sun plays hide and seek with the clouds
sometimes it shines with full brightness then
like a lightbulb that has expired
loses it's brilliance...
insects,create their own brand of music
click...click...click...
all around is quiteness-
you can even hear your own breathing.
the day is almost over
the sun is getting tired with it's plays,
starting to set...saying goodbye
and suddenly-
your shadow exist behind me
white and black-like a smoke.
it is not easy to get rid of the pains.
inoperable.incurable.
seems destined to stay.
i lost my jenny...
WHY...JENNY?
love fell apart on the same continent
'the sun has ascendant between us,
between two pinched,
that bow to each other;
love with the sun ascendant,
has red on our orgasmic ally
stem;
we are now like a shadow, thy
set, in the same continent;
but kiss the air husbandry.
Sometimes life is okay
Okay to be normal
Okay to be average
These are my Black and white days
My days that marked black and white
Sometimes it’s alright to be okay
Sometimes it’s okay to be alright
Sometimes it’s okay to be alike
He’d clean the parking lot
He really didn’t ask for a lot
He walked with the rain
Drenched he didn’t complain
He lived in a tent
Really was the last to comment
He didn’t play the blues
It was just another day without shoes
He didn’t need faith to know his place
He never mumbled
Pick up debris and marked subtly
Now Jon-boy saw the sun rise
He saw the sun set
He was thankful for whomever he met
He went to help a man in a nice suit and tie
He lie there on the pavement begging to die
As he reached out the man nearly cried
Leave me alone you stupid man
I don’t need help from homeless dude
To help me stand
His days were never saddened
But sadly on this day it had to happen
She saw a broken man
She took his hand
She and her purple curls
She was right there where you were
She told him
Sometimes life is okay
Normality’s alright
but it’s okay to be average
And if average isn’t enough
Then it’s alright to be normal
These are my black and white days
My days that are marked black and white
Sometimes it’s alright to be okay
Sometimes it’s okay to be alright
Sometimes it’s okay to be alike
She said
It’s the spool of yarn life strings you
The value of having less
This image before you is surviving stress
Why are you trying to cripple me with time
I’ve shaded blinds
Sang through chimes
Stepped away from my mind
A time or two
Made giants fall
Hugged empty walls
Picked myself up
and once more crawled
I’ve prayed and failed
I’ve failed and not prayed
I’ve seen the spoils of belief
I’ve been full and never got enough
Been hungry and could not eat
Been clean and messed up sheets
Been impure and could not sleep
"been on the other side of a persuaded mind"
I sit by a window.......
i sit by a window,
waiting for the sun to shine.
life is usually sunny,
full of laughs and smiles.
but now i just don't know.
i'm just so confused
about so many things.
what should i do?
i know that if i hold out,
things will get better.
sometimes i am in a tunnel.
and theres always a light at the end.
its always my friends and family.
they are always there for me.
i will always and forever love them.
i sit by a window,
my sun is shining through.
i know that i have made it
through the darkness and the pain
i guess what i am trying to say is that,
i love my friends and family with my whole heart.
i hope that they know this.
cause i know that they love me.
ill survive another day.
thanks to my friends and family.
october heat
October Heat
This October boil has turned into a shocking corps of a tramp left in
the unholy heat for days. Last time someone a had touched him was
when a bairn in his mother’s arms. Those who handled him now wore
gloves and facemasks. On the walkway old tourists sit they came here
for a cheap holiday, been lucky, going home with a tan. But if they die
alone at home, those who touch them will wear gloves and the coffin
will be closed…what we know we do not need to see. Deluded sun is
an actor who wants to speak all the line in the play and refuses to leave
the stage. The public is restless, curtain is coming down, but this is his
moment. Slow clapping and he says” I gave you summer so why do you
forsake me now?”October sun is an old person who tries to be young
feels he has much more to say, but do not see he is repeating himself.
Give way now, let rain fall and clean the slate of the past, look out and
enjoy how much of what you planted thrive.
Chemical Sun
Bad deal today, at times confusing but always harsh.
I may be lying in the mud, but I’m starring up at the stars.
Catching my flight to bliss, trying to ease the pain.
Watching from my semidetached state, the city flame into day.
Chemical sun rising over me, burning pure truth.
I think I’m falling apart again, but you always help me through.
Everyone was on me all day, now its over and I’m audi.
The flaming fury of the day, slowly going out across the city.
Mysteriously beautiful night, I just wish she could see,
through all the floating thoughts, just what’s happening to me.
Chemical sun rising over me, burning pure truth.
I think I’m falling again, and I believe its for you.
You’re so open, never fronting, always straight.
Talking inhibitions, and decisions about soul mates.
We are now, not tomorrow, these thoughts are not ours to think.
I truly know your pain, sweet Isabelle, you don’t have to speak.
The Days When Sun Came to Play
It amazes me what warmth is set free,
On long summer days all spent in play,
By a smile, and chuckle and a promise to stay.
Standing in awe at the amber sea,
Are father, mother, daughter and son,
Staring out where all day, Sun had shone.
Before it hides away from the night,
it glares forth a challenge to Family,
"Can you make the very most of me?"
Sun peaks through the windows at dawn,
Waking Family with a chuckle and smile,
"Are you awake, making the most of my wiles?"
Sun follows Family's cycles to the forest  as well.
Guarding them with warmth, kissing well their city skin,
"Are you playing a game by going in and out of the dim?"
At lunch time Sun is high in the sky,
Joining in, stealing a little of Family's ice cream,
"I'm sorry, I don't mean it to seem mean!"
In afternoon Sun follows Family to sea,
Warming the water and highlighting the rocks,
"Can you see me greeting boats at the docks?"
Evening creeps in, chasing Sun away.
But as it dips down it says it's Goodnight,
"Bless you all 'till tomorrow, I'll wake you early and bright!"
She's Like Headlights
Red
My face burnt under that stare
Shame
How could she possibly guess?
No one else
No one else would ever guess
No one else could ever tell me what not to do
No one could ever affect me like that
Burning
I have sunshine always at my back
It blurs my form and no one can see the truth
But her eyes are shaded
The glaring, staring light holds no sway for her
I can’t hide in the sun anymore
I’ve tried moonlight
When she’s not around
Lunar, no one sees me
The joke is silent
Quiet jester, silent clown
I am changing like the sky
I hid in the sun clouds and air
The moon reveals me in gently cruel light
She is insatiable
She demands a proper answer
Asks to see, asks to know
“Why?”
Over and over again it’s “Why? Where? How?”
I don’t have an answer
I’m caught in the headlights
Once again, in class, unprepared
Interrogation
That’s what it is, by all rights
Can I stop?
Can she stop me with just a word?
Is there a point?
I had questions of my own,
But then even she never remembers that
I could always ask before,
There was always a maybe before
What can I say now?
I can’t even move the words through my throat
I could always ask her
But I always question everything
I question her questions to me
A past setting Sun
A day has passed with a setting sun risen once more
Washed away all traces of last night it did
When stained across the leaves . . . one tear from my eye unbroken
Fallen in a screaming one million times over again through teeth shut tightly
Again all over once more it falls
Falls and tears asunder the earth beneath my feet
Leaving a gaping maw behind
Hungry to swallow all of me it does, has done, will do if I dare to sleep
If I . . . if
Wherein did the night go, if at all? I ask
For still beneath this sun holding its light fast and tightly
I stand above the broken earth in shadows deep
Born of lavender run to deepening sorrows
As if the air all around me could speak, would speak, will speak
Already has cried out to scream like this wailing soul stuck inside my chest
Scream to echoing everything!!
Everything that I am, have been, will be, ever was . . . could ever be
To pay and spare this pain I see yawning before my brother’s broken life
And there it is,
The why of the darken cloud
Hanging above me weeping tears across my soul
Echoes, echoes really, just echoes
Of the shrieking in my heart
The crying unwashed tears breaking across my waking mind
Thundering like a thousand waves crashing across the sea
To . . .
To smash through my unconscious mind like . . .
Like a past setting sun
When it will rise no more
Well again
What is wrong this morning?
I know something is not right
The sun and the moon together
And not letting go of the night
And the flowers look so sad
And the birds don’t want to sing
Just a dark gloomy shadow
That’s covering over everything
Ever the rain refuses to fall
So the trees can quench their thirst
But no one else can see this
It only exist in my universe
And the world stuck on pause
And at that moment I can tell?
That beautiful my sweet heart
Got the flu and not feeling well
She’s such an angel to me
Just a joy to the world
A gift to humanity
And still such a down to earth girl
I try to got out side
And the day just stands till
For how can you go about life?
Knowing the one you love is ill
I saw on the news storms here
All the roads are blocked off
But I’ve more important things on my mind
Like did she takes her Vicks 44 for her cough
I wish I was there to take care of her
To make some chicken soup Trinidad style
To chase away that bad cold
And bring back her beautiful smile
Hey you don’t look at me like that
I know all of you will do the same
For when the one you loves feels down
You, ill do anything to make them well again
So I will try to survive these days
Through the snow, storm, and shivering
Until I see the blue sky, the sun and the rain
It’s how I know my sweet hearts feeling well again
Swamp Idyl
Somewhere off by a stream,
an old Rabbit told a tale
to his forty eight grand kids
and great grandkids,
Under the sunny sun they sat,
the oldster under the shade of a willow,
all of them had honey and bread,
each waiting to hear the tale.
A Butterfly floated lazily by,
and a Mockingbird chirrupped in the ferns.
Momma Rabbit called on out,
and the oldster said
"No, stay awhile!"
so the mummy Bunny sat on down,
in the mossy grass by the stream,
folding her floral apron neatly.
No cloud in the sky disrupted the tale,
and the forty eight little ones
all were smiling,
the mummy Bunny was too,
as the day slowly went by.
The Mockingbird came to listen,
as did Ole Mister Tortiose,
and Stork Dan,
who came with Panther Rose,
who was always with Cub Fen,
And Fen's friend Hawk Clay,
who carried in his claws Snail Clem,
who begged Adder Serpenz to help,
and soon all of the Swamp was there,
to here the oldster's fine tale,
under the sun in the glade by the stream,
with the breeze so gentle
and the grasshoppers buzzing,
until the story was done.
When it was done, the rest were gone,
but little Snail Clem was still trying to go,
so the oldster picked him up,
and took him to the water's edge,
set him there and took up his cane,
and walked away in the woods,
still telling himself the tales of old.
White Wine Emparado Sun Shine ( 2007 )
White Wine Emparado Sun Shine ( 2007 )
The frosted glass
Trickles in the shade
Little rivulet’s marking times smiling
Hazy cool sips
Of the second bottle
Shared with talk and laughter
While Costa Del Blanca heat
Bakes the dust devils
Dancing at the seas edge
Shared bread of the day
Tuna olives and jalapenos
Spell their twang
While giggling on some silly joke
Its smells like goats cheese
And tasty trinkets of fishy squid
Cold crisp vino blanco
Hazy cool sipped
Of the third bottle
Cork’s popped
Tourist frying in sun tan oil
Unaware of the benefits of shadow
We kick back
Souls replenishing in lazy skies
Friend filled eyes
Enjoy the silence of company
Lilting with Spanish guitars
And the dusky Arab “looky looky” man plies his wares
The sleepy heady slows
Bodies stretch comfortable with tans
And cigarette smoke
Drifts hours to the soft washing
Sighing Mediterranean salt
Away for the duration
Left back somewhere the cold chill
And rain of England’s
Dismal lowered damp grey
Shrugged from these shoulders
And forgotten
We kick back
Any further back would lead to snoring
Souls replenishing in lazy blue skies
Young Love
June 17, 2006
How sweet, how serene,
Delicate inside a core,
A flower I have bore.
Such a magnificent scene!
Blossoms in bloom are what you bring.
I couldn’t ask of you for much more,
I even find you shining on the Seashore.
You make my heart dance and sing!
The Sun shines down on me,
And the Moon leads my way.
The Stars shine and I can see,
A beautiful Sun shiny day!
You come from somewhere up above,
Tender in my heart is a Young Love!
Send Me A Shout Out
Send me a shout out
Through the window
Light..
While the sun rain
Down and my mind
Soars..
Upon the wind the
Embers rise..
Filling my heart with
A song much like the
Soul serenade by King
Curtis Blue..
Just sip thy nectar of
The remnants of life..
While the sun rain
Down and my mind
Soars..
BtVS: Shadows of Four
Four individuals come into view,
Ready and able to do what they do.
Each one is small, and each one is proud.
In the hours of night, they wait for the fight.
Ah, who but the slayer could stand at such ease?
With strength and with courage she faces the breeze.
A lead into battle, as quick as you please.
She is the hand, she’ll make you believe.
The witch, so friendly with red hair divine.
Her wit and her charm; she is simply sublime.
Bright-eyed and able she follows the lead.
She is the spirit, and magic’s her deed.
The loyal, the commoner, construction supreme.
He’s more than he looks, he’s more than a dream.
Laughing through heartache, and smiling through pain.
The heart keeps on beating, there’s so much to gain.
And what’s to be said about the eldest of these?
Wonderful, wise, so full of surprise.
A watcher, librarian; mentor, and friend.
The smartest and kindest, stalwart ’til the end.
Always keeping the forces together,
The mind’s eyes stay open through all sorts of weather.
The sun rises slowly, to welcome the fight.
Our four able heroes awake in the light.
The sun shines down on each handsome face,
Their shadows fade into each other’s place.
A new being is made from the shadows of four,
Able and ready to win the last war.
The Ways of the Sun and Moon
As the sun shall set another days at end
And the moon shall rise knowing we'll always be friends,
I sit and listen to silence from the night
When everything sleeps until daylight
The moon is shining with stars aside
The dark night covers with clouds and hides,
The night is so patient with its calmness stare
In the morning the sun shall be up there
The moon has left, the stars went too
The sun came up and there was you,
You come to my side at the break of each day
You come to see me and what do you say?
The first words I hear are good morning, dear friend
This day has brought another night to an end,
Remember as you lay in bed tonight
The sun goes down and brings moonlight
Remember another day comes soon
When the sun leaves our friendship up to the moon
don't go
i looked into your eyes
i saw the future in your face
you broke my heart when you said those three words
the only thing i say is baby please don't go
you bring the sun in the morning
you bring the cool of night
you have a sun shining face like the light of day
you make me happy when i feel blue
you make every thing right when i am so wrong
i cried when you said those three words
and all i can saw is baby don't go.
Insanity in the Sunlight
As The Sun Goes Down, My Eyes Go Wide,
Day's Exuberant Colors Dwindle And Hide.
New Moon Tonight, Rebirth Is Blissful,
No Stars To Shine From The Clouds Non Dismissal.
Birds Retire, Becoming Dormant In Flight,
Brings Upon A New Distinguished Life.
Cold Air Dancing To The Melodious Wind,
My Own Insanity Is My Only Nocturnal Friend.
Keeping Me Pleasured From Dusk Until Dawn,
Until The Sun Comes Forth, Old Friends Spawn.
As They Arise I Quiver With Constant Fear,
Pondering On Who Will Activate My Tears.
Away To My Throne, I Proceed In Thought,
My Heart, Content With The Morning, Distraught.
Eyes Go Closed, My Brain Stirs With Hope,
Knowing What The Suns Decline Will Provoke.
A Nighttime Of Wonderful Uncharted Trips,
And Goodnight The Final Passing Through My Lips.
Rose of Thorns
Bound by love, your prisoner, distraught and lonely, I wait for you. My present
being, yearning for us, tortured, time stands still as our acquaintance subdue. At
the beach, nigh to the dunes, was our Eden, where you, my flower bloomed.
You were the pain, my last chance-dire. From my whole, you remained at our
wake, the caroling water of dreams. We're shoreline deep, and, in the sand, our
bodies remain. This is our sanctuary, or so it seems, until we bleed away.
 In our youth, the sun smiled upon us, two innocents among the sinful tide. Your
smile, the true sunrise to my days, awoke me from a dream. Shy and timid, I
waited for you under the setting sun everyday. Holding hands, we confided in one
another, confessing our fears and pain. As the evenings gently caressed the
days from their stature, the moon lit our nights and the stars caught our eyes as
they fell towards each other.
The moon Shone like a precious fire on our wounds endless ires.  And, to be
frank, I could not speak. From my lips to your cheek, seconds that were
moments, I was afraid.  Like a child visiting the ocean for the first time, my touch
refrained. I steadily explored your currents pull. Its strength consumed my
tireless whims.  Like a blade, smooth and clean, we sunk core-deep and fell into
each other until only one remained.
Precious memories, so long ago, fallen from Eden, I can’t let go. Into the sea, my
eyes gaze at what was once a boundless beauty to I, but now as gray as a
wounded soul, it beckons me towards a watery grave.
My head is a specter lost in a maze of lies looking for you.  It gazes at paths once
walked in the light of innocence.  Now, subdued, I float, sometimes in rage.
There's only one thing that remains true.  Your beauty makes me want to lose my
virtues.
Waves of memories break in a hypnotic pattern; times of frolic betray their first
intentions, spiraling my heart downward. Words of infidelity stain the paper in my
hands, telling me to wait for one last dream, a nightmare. So as I read, I wait, like
I had done so many times before, for you, not a flower, but a rose of thorns.
In a mirror, much like a pool, my fingers scratch the surface and sink through.  I
can touch our times and look back on them, but I can't explain why I can't fall in
love again, not with you.  You whispered my name and turned away.  Until the
end, we were friends, until the end, over and over again. Like a flower, I've wilted,
wilted in shame.
Summer's Sun
The summer sun brought a new kind of love into our lives,
And it made us both shine -
something neither one of us had done
In a long time.
We both fell too hard,
Discovering something that was unknown to us.
We found joy, happiness, and even love.
It was so beautiful.
We went through so much together in the short time you were here.
We had fun-lots of fun.
We laughed and cried together,
sharing secrets with one another.
I can honestly say you were the first person I ever fell in love with.
But we just didn't make it.
What went wrong?
Were we too serious?
I loved you so much and we were so happy together,
But it just wasn't enough.
What is enough?
More love? More laughter?
We never had the chance to find out.
You're gone now, I'm sorry to say.
You've begun a new life and
I'm still here picking up the pieces-
Still living for yesterday
When you were here with me -
Loving me and needing me.
So what now?
I still love you very much and
There will always be a special place for you in my heart.
Winter's coming on now and
I must leave the memories behind and
Begin a new life of my own,
And wait for spring -
The dawning of a new love.
I hope we have the chance to meet again
So we can pick up where it ended,
But until then just remember
I love you and please be happy.
God bless the summer sun
And all the love and happiness it brings.
Lonely Road Shady Trees
Walking down
A lonely road
With trees on either side
The light is dim
And the sun is hidden
Behind the graying clouds
Rain is falling
The mud is thick
And loneliness
Surrounding
The trees ahead
Outlined in fog
Are dark and looming
Shadows
The path goes on
And never ends
On this lonely road
But up ahead
The sky is clearing
The sun is peaking through
The sky turns blue
And the mud dries up
Three feet ahead of me
A friend is standing there
And  joins me on
This endless road
Not lonely any more
Ollie and Emie
He carried her like the lazy, in her champagne, satin dress
and slipped her soul on the mattress bare, as her soul was quite a mess.
She woke with the sun in her eyes as the sun always has it's way
She woke with a moment of hope that he had changed all his plans and decided to stay.
He carried her name on his lips, through the have's and every have not
and wished she was thinking of him at the moment, and if so, he wondered just what
She lacked all the zeal for the world's success, she slept in his t-shirt at night
She lacked all the courage that she should have had to dismiss him without such a fight
He wore out his "plans" with realities rub, he siphoned the winds on a whim
and whisked her away for a week and a day 'till he was filled right back up to the brim
She laughed as they held hands in goodbye, between tears as she tried not to cry
She laughed as she knew she would see him again, though in words she could never say why
He sat at the stars one clear night, in their sleepy twinkling light
and dialed her number with the thought to hang up, to fall into sweet bless-ed flight
She answered: "What took you so long? I've been waiting for you all my life..."
She answered like the mirror to his long strung out soul and changed all his plans as his wife.
Summer Days
There we were speeding along
the warm leather seats of the golf cart
asphalt hot under the wheels.
The sun shines down
ever radiant above
the sky is as blue as ever
The occasional shout heard by all
as someone is hurt or excited
the happiness and joy in our hearts
Small waves hit the shoreline of Lake Michigan
the screams of swimmers as the water hits them
the smell of sun screen in the heat.
Little children laughing in the pool
the random parent shouting "don't run"
all good times wraped around us like a blanket.
The dazzaling sunsets
the golden ball falls to its daily death
as the stars begin to shine
There's only one word to describe summer
those longs days, wonderful days in St. Joesph, MI
"AWESOME"
Then summer days fade away
fall hits with a resounding boom
and the hope for more summer days.
You never know
You never know exactly what you have until it's gone.
You never really know the value of something until you lose it.
You need to cherish lifes every little moment.
You'll never know what will happen tomorrow.
You'll never know it the sun will keep shining, or if the moon will still glisten in the night .
You'll never know if the person you love will be gone tomorrow.
Since you will never know what tomorrow will bring, end every night with a good thought.
Tell the sun that your thankful for the warmth and the light.
Thank the moon for itz beauty in the nights sky.
Then make sure you don't forget the most important one of all...
Tell your family and friends that you love them.
Just because you will never know what tomorrow will bring.
Fades
I watched the red red sun set
& listened to sunny day play
all i'm missing in this sad sad setting
is some coffee and cigarettes
the thought of you crosses my mind
as my hand moves across this page
& your bracelet catches my eye
there wasn't anything i wanted more in this (very) moment
than to feel your hand in mine
instead, i stand in this cold cold room
watching from my window sill
& as the light fades
in this sad sad setting
& sunny day continues to play
i think nothing but of you
& how i hope your sunny day fades into the night
just as beautifully as the red red sun (did)
Smile, Be Happy
Remember the sun today
Remember the sun tomorrow
Remember the sun just from yesterday
Always keep that smile
That is always on your face…
Because I want you to be happy!
Do you know what brightens up my day?
And I'm sure everyone else's
It's just your attitude
So whenever you're feeling down
It affects me as well
And I don’t ever want to see you sad
Oh I'll do anything in my…
Power to make sure… that you're happy
Oh I'll push myself beyond…
My limitations, if it is to keep you smiling
Remember the sun today
Remember the sun tomorrow
Remember the sun from just yesterday
Even through rainy days
I still want to see that smile…
Because I want you to be happy!
If at the sacrifice of myself
Simply everything of me
I'll give it all up, if it would make you happy
Whenever you need to be cheered up
Just call on me…
I'll be there, and quickly change the mood
Oh I'll do anything in my…
Power to make sure… that you're happy
Oh I'll push myself beyond…
My limitations, if it is to keep you smiling
Remember the sun today
Remember the sun tomorrow
Remember the sun just from yesterday
Always keep that smile
That is always on your face…
Because I want you to be happy!
