Those Were Golden Days of Splendor

Those Were Golden Days of Splendor

Rushing clear water splattered over the rocks
melding into a huge spraying white foam
The sounds made sent heavenly tastes to my ears
the sight pierced my heart with love's stab

Stab that melds heart to a gentle Soul
a sweet pain born again and again so happily
Fast running stream in my mind's eye endures
stamps images with a clear splash of life

Just a swift stream from my youthful forays
days spent exploring Nature, the world anew
Memories time stamped , precious cargo aboard
faces of family waiting home for my return

Rushing water, a life in a bubbling brook
A memory, a love , a mental picture I took!

Robert J. Lindley, 08-26-2014

note: Looking back at the greatest time of my life.
I was ten years old, rambling the fields and woods
like a roaming gypsy on the prowl. My father was still alive,
my mother young and in good health and best of all my
baby brother was two years old, destined to live 12 more years.
A happy family of 11 children and two parents. Life was good!

I love rain

I love rain

It's a month now into spring
And still the rain pours down
Hey, is it ever going to end
There's many here that frown
They want the sunny weather
That will come soon enought
But right now, I'm enjoying it
Rain, I love the stuff.

Next week we're off on holiday
Now it really does rain there
And I'll love very bit of it
As it soaks up everywhere
To hear it's rhythm on the roof
It makes me feel so grand
Though many think that I am strange
They just don't understand

We don't get much rain in WA
So when it comes, for me
It makes me so excited
I guess it's how i be
So keep that rain a coming down
Let me feel it's soft, wet touch
I don't know what is wrong with me
But I love rain so much.

Willie Wagtail

Willie Wagtail

Willie wagtail wakes the morning
With his song outside my room
He tells me that the day is dawning
And sings away all shades of gloom.

Lovely bird, back black and shiny
With his belly creamy white
He sits there on a roof so finely
Giving my Soul sweet delight
\
‘Morning’s here’ his song is singing
Every note so loud and clear
As his song to me is bringing
A feeling oh, so sweet and dear.

The Petal

The petal has floated into a new vast world
The wind of harmony uplifts the petal
The petal is drifting with serendipity
The petal is in love

Bliss is all I see, floating on winds that freed me
Dancing with others in a swooning flurry
How long will nirvana last without my tree
Time, please do not hurry

Pity the perennial
They are isolated from winds of passion
Never taking a chance, never will they see unknown beauty
Why are they watching us while we explore all of mother nature's creation

Fading, the sun relinquishes my mortal soul
Withering away, the earth is reaping me
Crumbling, winds spread my ashes into the sunset
I am ready, sweet death

Dreaming Of Spring

Dreaming Of Spring

Myth is the breath of memory
Fables of spring's awakening
Things are watching we cannot see

Here in the garden’s treasury
The magic of spring is hastening
Myth is the breath of memory

Colors to spark a rainbow’s envy
Every meadow and glade adorning
Things are watching we cannot see

Flowers dancing in reverie
Bluebirds and butterflies on the wing
Myth is the breath of memory

Spring is transforming dormancy
Now as days are brightening
Things are watching we cannot see

Painting a picture of harmony
At last a result for all our dreaming
Myth is the breath of memory
Things are watching we cannot see

Wildflowers

Standing out in a field alone, a little white flower named Daisy longed for someone to share her world.
One day a blue flower named Bachelor Button entered her world they became friends.
She knew by his name that he was not the propagating kind, but that didn’t stop their relationship she called him BB short for best bud.
The seasons of Spring & Summer they enjoyed the sun, laughed in the rain and held on fast in the Fall.
Winter came it was long and hard they were both covered in a blanket of snow, not knowing whether they would ever see each other again or even survive .The snow fell then came the ice, this went on for months.

The Sun shone brightly the first day of spring. A few days later warmth of the sun melted the snow, Daisy popped up .
I’ve been waiting days for you to come out, said BB, they both chanted hooray!
The snow was completely gone in a few days, the birds started building their nests , bugs were crawling around ,butterflies began to visit the two flowers. I wish there were more of us Daisy said, to BB.

They laughed as the sun and wind blew through their leaves. Then it started the sun and rain took turns until one morning the air & field was filled with the smell of flowers.

Daisy and BB looked at each other and asked what kind of flowers are these ? they’re not white like daisies they’re not blue like bachelor buttons. They did not know the birds and bugs carried the seeds from the two of them and the caterpillars buried them under the soil.
The seeds from the new flowers were then carried by the winds many miles away, they landed in fertilized gardens and flourished, although they faced danger everyday.
as they were called WEEDS ..
The Gardener pulls weeds out of the garden so they don’t choke the flowers, which cost a lot of money and require lots of maintenance.

However there was a Gardener who saw her friends spending hours weeding their garden , that they didn’t have enough time to admire and enjoy the labors of their love
So she set out to give a home to all the weeds ,she provided a place where they could fit in and multiply, they required no maintenance, rain provides their water .

The best part of all is their beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Ask my granddaughter-- What are those flowers in the garden ?
She will answer "WILDFLOWERS " their parents were Daisy and BB

Come Spring

Pods appear upon the sprigs of green reaching skyward
covered in early morning dew.
Soft yellow petals open and fold down forming a blanket
upon which the trumpet center will rest.
The sun shining down on the daffodils give a feeling of
daintiness to the flowers.
One of the most beautiful flowers seen swaying in the
spring breeze.

A sign that spring is indeed bursting at the seams to be
born again.
As the spring season arrives and Easter approaches the
daffodils will be in full bloom.
The trumpets reaching to the sky in a wonderful display
of beautiful colors.
Again year after year these precious flowers return to us
once more to admire.

A Flower's Funeral

A sweet flower's funeral
displayed in the cold months
of snowy weather and bone chilling shivers.
A sweet flower burned away, dried up;
buried six feet under.

Oh, my sweet flower,
how you once bloomed with no remorse,
like a madman blooming with beauty
and a glorious halo over your head
shinned with such power and blinding glory.

Oh my sweet flower how you have gone now,
resting in peace in the land of paradise.
Oh, my heart it is weak when I see your face,
of once beautiful smiles and warm embraces.
I can hear your crying out to be free.

Snowing and bone chilling cold ripes at my soul
and feelings of sorrow rage through my blood,
boiling my hatred to the world, for losing your
sweet and ever glorious beauty.

What I would give away, if I could be with you
one last night, one last night together
to hold you in my arms, to smell your sweet perfume
that brings back sweet memories of you and I.
What I would do to be with you,
such romance travels through my heart in the highways
of my veins in my body, love is all throughout me,
and my heart breaks when pictures of you start to collect dust.

My love for you, my sweet flower,
is still ingering through the air,
as I travel and look upon a tombstone
which shows your beautiful name.

Come to me my dear flower,
when spring comes,
come to me my dear, sweet flower.
And bloom once again,
twice as large as last year,
and ten times more beautiful then last year.
Come to me in the first months of spring
in my dreams, so I could sit and talk with you.
I miss you already,
and my heart crys,
my eyes flood with tears of sorrow.
I miss our love we shared.
Long walks,
cosy talks,
warm cuddling embraces
and beautiful displayed in a picture frame.
Now I hear the tapping of raindrops on my window pane.
That is all that keeps me company,
that and the rose you gave to me
and a picture of you and me.
Love is endless, even when blue eyed Death comes to visit
and play a game of chess with us,
we all play our game, my love.
I shall go tonight
in my sleepy slumber
and dream of you in the times of our height in our love for each other.
My lost love, you are gone, resting in paradise,
but never forgotten my sweet flower.

The Storm

And the storm calls to me in ways you'll never understand
A gentle call that urges my soul forth
The lighting guiding a path for my feet to walk
Between the stones and ash of all that once was
I stand in the echoing silence of the rain
It drops down upon my skin like the blessing waters of heaven
Soothing me, lifting the weight from my body
I feel at once as if I am home
Standing amid two dimensions
Caught between two skies - here and there
The night wraping around me in warmth
The gentle wind lifting me off my feet
Drops from the clouded moon washing away my body
and I am left just a soul, an essence
The storm calls me forth from beneath my roof
Beckoning me into its depth
I stand among the reeds in the basin
They dance and sway as if welcoming me
And I sway with them back
Caught up in the power that charges the air
That threatens to sweep me away
If the ground will just loosen its hold
The thunder rumbles a low welcoming growl
And I get pleasently lost within it
I am so small compared to its vastness
I close my eyes and succumb to the skies wishes
Rising higher until my feet no longer touch the ground
My fingertips touch the liquid color of the stars
A sigh drifts from my lips
There is no need of thought to stay afloat
There is no demand to breathe in air
No crushing weight upon my chest
As my lungs struggle to survive
There are no struggles here
I make my bed on blackened clouds
And give in to the call
The storm has claimed me as its own
It was such a struggle to stay upon the ground
When the storm would call me home

The Four Seasons

There are four seasons in a year. Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. In the Spring time, you can enjoy the outdoors and go for a walk. And look at the trees turning beautiful colors, you can also enjoy raking the leaves into a big pile and jump into them. We also know the New Year is coming with Winter. Winter is a cold month with snow, now the children can play outside in the snow. And everyone else can enjoy the snow also.

She is like a Rose

She is like a sweet, smelling rose
blooming in the month of May.
Blooming with large, red peddles
sprawling and conquoring with beauty.
She is like a Spring Rose.

Her heart, like the rose is beautiful.
She stands there, blooming mad.
Her hair flowing, like the rose's peddles growing.
Standing tall and posterious, like the green, stern stem of the rose.
She is glorious and beautiful, just like the rose,
the sweet smiling rose, in the month of May.

Glorious and brave.
as the rain washes her peddles away,
and the gardener coming with his rusty clippers
to cut her away. I hold back and slowly burst to tears.
For I do not want to see my love go away.
But, like the rose she will grow and bloom once again.
And she will come back bigger, brighter and taller.

She is like the rose.
She is beautiful, like the May weather roses.
She is the red, ruby hearted rose,
that sparkles with the afternoon raindrops,
slowly dripping of the peddles.
She is like the rose, for every time I touch the rose,
I get stabbed by her pointy torns.

She is just like the May Rose.
Perfect for admiring, but not for touching.
She is like a rose.

Am I Crazy, to Love You

Am I crazy, or am I just talking to myself?
Look at yourself,
Crazy maniac
dacing through twilight suns
in sunshine colored dresses.
And you say I'm the crazy one.
Please, don't make me laugh,
I am too much annyoid with taught lessons,
of life and death and love is a magical thing
but I am not impressed till my Gypsy Queen
comes up from the shoreline of the Middle East
and comes and lays next to me, as we watch the ships sail
through the Golden horn of Old Istanbul
into the bay of Asia Minor.
You say I am crazy, Am I or am I just talking to myself.
I believe I am having a conversation that has no end about your beauty,
I talk to whomever has an open ear, and even if people listened,
Who would care about what I have to say?

Since I first laid eyes upon your beauty,
I melted and you took my sanity away from me,
you took my innocence away and turned me into a worried monster.
I love you, and you take me home with you
to meet your father and mother,
both poets who made love and created a beautiful poem called you.
I am in love with you, your songs you sing,
sounding better than a nightingale in the midst of the twilight.
Walking the seashores with your mother as I talk to your father.
He isn't listening, all though he is a good actor,
for he acts if he knows what I say to him.
I talk of you and marriage,
throwing of the rice, exchanging of the golden crowns,
the tolling of church bells, and a happy reception afterwards.
The honeymoon, meant for the first born to carry on the family crest.

As we grow old, I want to grow old with you
Nothing now, a few thousand miles of ocean and sea
seperates us from each other.
Do not worry, for I shall come one day
in the month of May, your mother's favorite month
and I shall bring along a golden ring, a pearl necklace and two roses.
We shall walk the streets together hand and hand,
and wait for the wedding guests to arrive and see us on our way
to new beginnings in holy mantrimony.
Care for me,
I ask you one question, Am I crazy, or am I just talking to myself?
Talking to white walls that don't responed with life.
I need you, too give me a straight answer, to love me
embrace me with your beauty and let me drink from your knowledge.
For my sweet Persian Bride, I shall love you for eternity.
Now, come off the beach and cross the crossing paths
of mortality and morality and join hands with me,
as we sing the nights away, along with the sweet nightingales.
As we look into each other's eyes
I ask you, am I crazy to love you?

LET IT RAIN

It's raining today - dreary it may be
The imagery of the raindrops in my view
Dripping ! In my brain I visualize
The dark clouds surrounding me
Thus I see - will there be sunlight
I look, I ponder! I watch and I surmise
the sun may peak in these predominant skies
Mesmerized - sun rays gleam in my eyes
Those beautiful hues - and yet the spectrum
The iris - that beautiful rainbow
It feeds my soul - I look at beauty
And thus blooms the flower - I know
It rained today and thus I say
The gardens grew - if you only knew
I woke - I had beautiful thoughts
Raindrops danced on my life this day
And yes! I saw a bud flourish petals
It's spring - and the rain doth bring
With a little help from the sun , my flower
Blooming in my head I visualize
Look what I saw when I looked at the skies
Imagery in my head, I thought
Imagine it - and the bird it may sing
Music to my ears - I listen - I see
That spring - it's really blessing me
Enlightened I saw the dead rose then grow
And I sit, I still ponder , it's roots I know
And the rose once posed- still life - of art
Prominent are the skies to make you wonder
                                    The rain might start!!!!!
                                        Again & again

My Wishes are Simple

My Wishes are Simple

My wishes are simple,
my desires few,

to gaze upon an ocean,
and marvel at a solitary drop of dew.

My wishes are simple,
my dreams not too grand,

to feel the waves teasing my tired feet,
with no footprints left in the cool, wet sand.

My wishes are simple,
my thoughts serenely gentle, calm,

my heart resting beneath a swaying palm,

healing my being, caressed by nature's soothing balm.

Nature's Sigh

The Black butterfly waves away her adorations
All she seeks is seclusion, subsuming slave to mortification
The Dear Air is all she can breath, captive of imaginary dreams
The Beacon resonates, but the hope isolates
The Wasteland's silky fingers caressing the virgin's face

So she is now, the covet of the damned
Programmed to every victim's pain
Carrying the weight of every sorrow
Drowning in wrongs she does not know
But paradise is at loss; she must go

Nature sighs after the bite
All my hopes fading
Don't look at me with those sorrowful eyes
How do you know exactly what I'm feeling?
I'm just the ghost flower passing by
And you can hear nature's sigh

Spring is coming

Spring is coming

Spring is coming
I can feel it in my blood
The days, it seems are warming up
And feelings like a flood
Come gushing through me like a river
Oh Lord, it’s almost spring
Oh what love is in my heart
What joy to me this brings

Hallelujah, it is coming
The birds are getting frisky
The canaries sing a lovely song
And the dog he runs so briskly
All around the garden
Seems he knows that spring is here
The fish are chasing all around
And the sky is blue and clear

No one understands it
This thing spring does to me
No one could ever feel it
So wonderful it be
But when I know the spring is here
It makes me feel so sweet
Twenty eight days away from now
Then the spring time we will greet.

September Weather

Ah, the september weather is here,
the trees turn firery red and orange,
and the leaves gently fall to the surface.

Fall is here,
and the grass turns from green to yellow,
the souls of many change their ways.

From going on beaches in sun
to walking on wet streets,
with jackets on.

September weather is here,
too most it is depressing to see,
such change in the world.

But I love it.
The girlfriends and boyfriends go away,
and that makes me happy.
Then I go apple picking.

I pick red apples,
from low, hanging apple trees.
and I eat one, while walking down the trail.

Fall is here,
the time of death,
the last of sunshine.

I don't argue,
I love fall,
it is so cosy and it gives me hope.

Hope that a day will come again,
when the sun pops its head out
and the warmth returns.

September weather is the best,
when summer is gone, but not quite,
and the cool breeze sweaps through your open windowpane.

I love fall,
it gives me hope,
that with death comes life.

You, Me, Us, Everyone

Flowers
Not named
Unknown to those with no curiosity
Buds, that dream of one day blooming
Being, more than they are
Flowers living
Being
Thriving
Touched by those who love
Protected by those who wish to love
Wishing to be more than they are
Buds, not truly knowing if they are ready for the world
Hoping they are strong enough
Wishing to be the best
You, Me, Us, Everyone

Seasonal Poem

This poem is dry/
Free from liquid tongues/
It cries out loud as the misty words blown reflects winter/
Hearts cold /
This poem is mine/
Re-read it after a while/
The message turns warmer in time/
You are told/
It carries old expressive survivors who died in the future/
Marry words that lose leaves but surviving the bitter cold season/
Words that bought blankets for them lyrical branches/
This poem is sweet/
Dry poems have rights to be pleased/
This poem is sweet/
Rhymes shelter on the sentence's rooftop before engagement parties/
Rhyming sessions/
Cut and paste scissors blur the vision/
Not true expression/
Bees group hug in mud of resurrected angels to echo this poem/
Echo this poem/
Spread the word in this cold world/
We will all get warm/

Spring is coming

Spring is coming

Six more weeks, that’s all there is
The Spring is on her way
Even now some shrubs make buds
It’s a lovely winters day
And all the birds seem more alive
Like something’s in the air
Soft green branches through the window
Say Spring is everywhere.

Tomorrow will be cold again
Perhaps they’ll be no sun
That’s the way it mostly goes
When the winter knows it’s done
It gives a little then grabs hold
Then slowly fades on out
Yet soon the Spring will hold on tight
I feel it all about.

There’s something special about the Spring
That gets into my soul
A kind of live ness in the air
That makes me feel so whole
I cannot wait for spring to come
There’s a tingle in my spine
Just to walk in the Springs warm sun
Makes my essence feel divine.

The Green River

She slips from the sleeping ice.
Green, fresh, free to flow
through the great fjord.
Past the blue mountains.

She glides smoothly
over the rocks with glee,
covering them with her cool touch.
Tall evergreens cheer her on.
Waving as she courses down her chosen path,
carrying life.

All the while never tiring!
Surging forward to join the others like her.
This vast journey ,
will not end till she reaches
The Great Shores.

Her journey is joyful.
Touching all on her banks,
leaving the gift of life in her wake.

Springs Arrival

The calming sounds of birds chirping fills the air, The smell of flowers just beginning to bloom, The sight of the green coming back to the grasses life, The feeling of being engulfed by a blanket of sun, Spring has arrived. The sound of lackluster lawn mowers starting back up, The smell of fresh food being grilled on the patio, The sight of sun rays beaming through the sky, The feeling of riding around with your windows down, Spring has arrived. The sound of wood crackling in a toasty bonfire, The pleasant smell of freshly cut grass, The sight of waves crashing along the shoreline, The feeling of having a slight breeze on a nice day, Spring has arrived. The sound of children back playing outside, The smell of fresh rain caked to the air after a storm, The sight of birds darting through the crisp air, The feeling of cold lake water touching your feet, That's when you can tell, Spring has arrived.

SPRING

SPRING

Spring,
Unfrozen dream of a bitter
Cold night
Sprung at the heart of
Despair,
Daughter of winter,
Mother of summer,
Herald of hope!

Your beauty unsurpassed
Your youth incomparable,
Your vigor, unimaginable becomes,
Under
The caresses of the caring
Sun.

Spring,
How much I yearn into
Your arms for ever to
Be,
To hear the melody of:
The joyous birds
The murmuring brooks
The playful leaves,
Trumpeting your glorious
Rebirth,
Incarnated by the spouts of
The devoted seeds,
Servants of immortality.

Oh spring,
Let me drink from the dew
Of your youth,
Thus
Young myself to become
Again!

Spring

A little bit confused was beautiful Spring,
She had to choose for life a bridegroom.
Who will give her a wedding ring?
Three men wanted to be her happy and bloom.

March, April and May vied with each other.
About their great love they quietly talked.
April was for Spring like a brother,
With March she just often liked to walk.

Timid March gave her beautiful primroses,
Out of snowdrops he made a wreath,
He didn’t want to know any losses,
He promised her the whole world’s wealth.

Delicate and sweet was April.
He gave her a necklace of brilliant drops.
The life with him could be stable, - he said,
She’d be rich and would get good crops.

A wonderful May pleaded Spring:
You are my love! Take my wedding ring!
Be quick, Spring! Be my wife!
We’d be happy together the whole life.

And Spring trusted the handsome May.
Without any delay she sewed the white dress,
For the veil she took the apples blossoms.
That was her best and the happiest day.

The whole world was whirling in the dance.
May was getting married with Spring!
The Earth was full of love and romance,
Happiness to all this marriage would bring.

A Beautiful Spring Day

A Beautiful Spring Day

There is a warm breeze coming from the West,
Creeping in forcing the landscape to get dressed.
The warm breeze snuggles against our face,
Then slowly holds us in a warm embrace.
With the warm breeze come the May flowers,
They have been enticed to bloom by the April showers.

The long cold winter has gone at last,
We look around and see the tender sprigs of green grass.
We see rabbits, squirrels and all kinds of birds,
To express our love of spring, we can find no words.
We see the lovers strolling down the lane,
They’re not anxious to see winter return again.

God has brought us this beautiful spring day,
The hint is to put all our winter things away.
To lie in the hammock, basking in the spring sun, so warm,
The tan on our face begins to transform.
God is among us, it’s easy to tell,
He brought us the warm breeze, and the flowers to smell.

Fallen snow will remind of me/ it is snowing ...
Slowly as in the dream/
Boy word-beads/ with signs on his spine/
He kisses fine/
Your eyelids /

And it snows ... It snows /so slow/
It does/ and you're thinking of me/
'Coz it's warm/ it's better to stay in warmth/
Waiting for summer dim/
It is snowing/ slowly like in the dream/
Flakes/ go round/ playing the music theme/
You've been looking for rescue/
You searched in wine/
But it's in me/
all the rescues are mine/
It is snowing/ the snow is fluffy and white/
If you see darkness/ I'm deaf and blind/
there's the cast of time/ on the arm/
But I discern the light/
Dreams/ upon your eyelids tips/
Prepare you for winter drowse/
And it snows/

Fallen snow/ will remind of spring /
it will crumble and crackle in vain/
It will snow / fluffy /white/ and slow/
And you'll become whole/

The Garden

The night air is cool and collective,
Running through my hair and face.
Even when I’m with people, I feel alone
In this cold blooded space.

It’s like walking through a garden
Of all your favorite foods,
But none of which can substantiate
For that one so special mood…

That mood,
that beautiful frame of mind.
I only go there with you,
And only you can make it unwind.

I discovered a passion unlike any other
And in my finding I opened a world,
A world I did not know existed.
I’m on cloud nine every time I think of you,
Just the thought of you brings joy to my heart.

This garden holds many beautiful things
Many delightful pleasures,
Many cold nights,
Warm nights,
Difficult frights,
Ecstatic times and unsystematic times!

But they mean nothing to me,
While I’m alone…

Walk with me through this garden.

SPRING

Spring
Spring is being born in the early morning... The glades are awakening into gentle green, The dawn songs of bashful blackbirds Are echoing through the woods... I am listening to the warbling of blackbirds, The harmonic singing of black choirs Lead by an invisible conductor. The chattering of the blackbirds' chorus Is getting ever louder And now uttering their songs are others too. A heavenly melody of birds' choirs has emerged Which - off the slopes of a forest glade - Echoes in the pleasant Symphony of a blissful morning.

Spring Has Come

Spring Has Come

Spring has come to my home town,
The rabbits and squirrels are playing all around.
As I walk down Union Street,
Everyone is friendly that I meet.

Concord has welcomed in the spring,
It’s like God reached up and made the church bells ring.
All the trees and grass have turned green,
It’s one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever seen.

The azaleas are showing their best bloom,
While the bees are laboring for more room.
I see a beautiful monarch butterfly,
His colors are gorgeous against the Carolina sky.

Look for the signs; you’ll see the spring rain,
Because now the flowers can drink once again.
You will hold all these many wonders so dear,
When once again God sends us spring next year.

Zalia

You could have been a beautiful soft-spoken song.

A wonderful view of a snowy mountain fawn.

A sunset off a smooth coastal calm.

A sunrise bursting it's light upon a spring flowers a colorful delight.

The fresh mountain air, on a morning after a seasonal rain in a northwest dew.

The rainbow in the spring between the sunshine and the rain.

A hymn that touches the soul and makes even the strongest of men weep.

In a picture of a palace, with golden steps surrounded by heavenly angels.

The smile upon my face, as I watched you as a child.

The lead horse running across the field and up the hill, a galloping thrill.

A beautiful sunny day, that warms up all things to make them happy and gay.

For you could have been anything beautiful, and you are.

Your you.

My youngest child of three.

For I truly love you, for your everything beautiful to me.

I love you Zalia

As I rise this day

As I rise this day,

thoughts of you go through my mind.

I thank you for another day,

I pray I can do things your way.

The winter is in full bloom Lord,

the chill in the air today is cutting

through the trees,

The branches are crisp and the sky is cloudy,

I pray the day is warmed by your touch,

Lord,I love you so much.

The day is beginning now,

help me to live a life today

that glorifys thy name.

A Silent Wave

A silent wave rushing inside my heart

Your hand leading me so far we won't depart

Your voice I heard in away that's taking me far

Into a silent wave rushing inside my heart.

Oh the thrill it was to hear

your voice so silent as I opened up to you

so wonderful this silent wave rushing inside my heart

I was searching for a answer to a question for so long

there it was a silent wave rushing inside my heart

Your voice Lord, in ways I never found

a silent whisper so very loud

inside my heart the silent wave replied

to me your love is so divine..

So when the shattered dreams are filling your mind

please please listen to the silent wave rushing inside your heart.

THE TRANSMOGRIFICATION OF THE UNICORN IN THE WARLOCK S GARDEN

THE TRANSMOGRIFICATION OF THE UNICORN IN THE WARLOCK’S GARDEN
Sabien, Sr. gathers his weapons to join his son. In his quest to depart knowledge, he must be the wise one. His son heard him speak that Sabien, II was the Unicorn in the Warlock’s Garden. Sabien, II slept silently amongst the flowers and the trees. Thus far, he had not been transmuted. His father promises his faith. He would change him into a much grandeur state. As the night became day, Sabien, Sr. finds all the herbs that will be needed for transmogrification. He begins to fulfill his promise. He will sup with the Unicorn. At eleven-thirty a.m., Sabien, Sr. beacons for the Unicorn who was patiently waiting under his favorite tree. He responded by entering the Warlock’s Vicinity. The feast started at noon with drink, meats, breads, berries, and so much more. The Unicorn spoke to his father. He was not aware of his metamorphosis. He had transformed to his human image, which is Sabien Allegra Baldwin, II. The splendor of glory shows his father to be a powerful Warlock. Magnificent are both in their opulence. Sabien, Sr. speaks and proclaims his son as the next Warlock. Sabien, II recognizes himself as a young man. He stands and accepts his position as the Warlock’s Apprentice. They embraced militantly and voiced their creed… Our spirits must be with the heavens and terrain. Our focus is terrestrial. This is our garden that we must protect. A superfluous and superlative existence we have. Sabien, Sr. speaks, “The revelation of your crossing, Sabien, II, is superb. You came, as I knew you would.” __________________________________| PENNED JULY 15, 2014. (For the first part, please read the Unicorn in the Warlock's Garden!)

Clear Waters

The waters clear as I stand by the river

I see the reflection of someone long ago

As the storms come in I know I can't let you go.

Rain pours at times in this life you've given

But the shadows fade when my prayers have risen

Your love for me I've never new until now

When I see the waters clear, my reflection seems so near.

As time goes on I know you are near

Just seeing the way you help me stand

Just seeing the way you remove the fear

It helps my weakness seem so clear

That without you I am small

But as I take your hand, the walls get knocked down

The waters clear, the reflection I see now,

is you in me, this my Lord helps to make me free.

Your Glory inside

When I lay down the night before,
I woke up to find Your Glory inside,

When I woke up to find Your Glory inside,
I bowed down at Your feet,

I crossed over the Jordon and fell at Your feet.
I Praise You now and Praised You then,

When I woke up to find Your Glory inside,

how wonderful now when I woke to find,

Your Hand in mine,
Your my Hope Lord,

Your my desire,
My Savior,My King.

One day, when I lay my head down,

I will wake up to find,

Your Glory inside!

My Madness, Me

My Madness, Me...

Confined by this straight-jacket,
strapped in, numb and dumbed,
a washed-out, has-been, also-ran,

body, eyes, the equilibrium of mind,
rattling like stones in an old tin-can.

Still, I am,

I am,

and I am unchained,

my dreams taking flight, soaring,
above these claustrophobic walls,
of synapses, and dungeons of stone,

swooping through green valleys,
taking a detour to savour the joys,

soaked in torrential, evergreen memories,
of a younger man, with passion in his bone.

I am.

My wings unclipped, unshackled, free,

I am, and though I am unable to see,

I am.

At long last,

me...

Distant African Nights

Those Distant African Nights...

1.

The shadows swayed in your candlelit room,

a cool breeze teasing your bare back,

streaks of lightning forked in the Johannesburg night,

as my hands stroked your hair,

kissing your soft mouth,

holding you,

ever so tight.

2.

You whispered that you loved me,

and I kept silent,

the rain fell,
shadows danced,
thunder rolled,

the breeze teased your naked back,

you whispered that you loved me,
as my lips found yours,

the rain washed over our tender nights,

lightning and candlelight,

etching poems on your burnished skin,

yet,

a fear gnawed at me,

deep within.

3.

We parted ways,
and you could never forgive me, you said,

now, after numberless thunderstorms,

the rain that falls,

echo the countless tears that I have shed.

4.

You are long gone,

far away,

happy, I pray,

yet the memories persist,

those precious moments shall never,
ever,

like the Jo'burg rains,
trickle away,

and I wish you well,
for loving me as you did,

for it was I who was not worthy,

then,

and it is I who is not worthy,

now...

5.

You were always true,

it was I who always,

always,

refused to,

to give myself,

completely to you.

Your Whisper

You whispered in my ear,
a breathy secret, hushed.

“I love you”, you murmured.

I said nothing,
lost, in your arms,
I found a home. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
I said nothing,
lost in my thoughts,
I found peace. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
words failed me then.

They still do.

Spring Showers

when earth cries
its tears fall upon us
not tears of sadness, really
tears to cleanse the horror
that it has seen that year
to wash away the pain
and the blood that has stained its surface
a revival
so it can last one more year
the ugly must be swept away
so the beauty can be seen
or else we might not notice
amazing
we might only notice
fear
so the bad must be swept away
so the good can return
so the showers must fall
so the flowers will bloom

Insignificant

Ah! Spring! ‘Tis announced everywhere!
Grass turns green – birds grace the air
And at our feet, the ground becomes rife
With infant green sprigs – the beginning of Life

Upon a tree, tiny buds are there made
And in coming months will provide shade
To all that may find occasion to be
Frolicking there … under that tree.

Flowers in bloom, their colors explode
Inviting insects to come and freeload.
Sunshine, combined with spring rain,
Funds the eternal growing campaign

Spring’s the time when we can all see
Natures’ renewing of what Life can be
When all is compared to Natures’ Plan
We become insignificant, man.

Happiness Surrounds Me

Happy that I live but more,
That the sky is bright blue.
Happy for summer roses after rain,
And for spring glimmers and dew.

Happy for sunsets and warm days,
And for rain that turns to snow.
Happy trees grow green leaves,
And I get to see flowers grow.

Happy that I more than see,
That whether happy or sad,
Life is luminous and amazingly beautiful,
Now of this, I'm most grateful and glad.

Eternal Spring

With each stone,
A certain size,
A distinct color,
Water flows gracefully
Over each backbone of the brook.

Along the brook,
The water is pristine,
Yet calm and quiet,
Rolling over stones
And pebbles, the water streams into
A natural spring.

The spring dwells
Eternal life,
Once drank,
Life everlasting.
Offering life after passing.

Window

In one corner of my room,
That is shaped like a tomb,
There is a window, where I sit
And see my world through it.

I see the rising sun,
I see the melting dew,
I see the blooming flowers,
I see the sky’s changing hues.

Through it
I embrace the fading sun,
I live the joyous rains,
I feel the flowery fragrance,
I walk those lonely ways.

Through it
I float with the summer clouds,
I breathe the winter breeze,
I touch the autumn leaves,
I celebrate the cuckoo’s springtime songs.

Through the window,
I see my world.
Neither the autumn leaves,
Nor the springtime songs;
Neither the winter sunshine,
Nor the summer rains;
Would have been great
Had it not been through my window rails.

Through my window,
I see the world.
In the window, lies the entire bliss;
Beyond the window is only an illusion.

ADORN

I planted this garden to enjoy.
Photosynthesis comes from the sun.
The white orchids set to the east.
The daffodils are astray.
The roses are a spread on a rack.
The tulips and morning glory are in a flowerbed.
I am relishing nature this year.

I planted these gardens to enjoy.
I sit in my cupola thinking about, therapeutically writing poetry, and reading aloud.
Behind this belvedere are a plot of mustard greens, tomatoes, carrots, and cucumbers.
The radiant energy celestially augments the vegetation.
The foliage is an architectural beautification.

These gardens were planted to enjoy.
No qualms I have, thus far.
I am truly adorned.

A Season's Dance

Bare,
Yet fair,
None can compare.
To the nude silver branches and barren expanses,
That the cool of winter doth bring.
Unless you equate the way the birds sing,
In the start of the fresh, blooming spring.
Or perhaps the warm air,
Filled with crickets’ prayer,
That’s found only in the summer’s afternoon glare.
But then there is the time of the harvest,
With leaves like the paint on the palette of an artist.
Such tender, splendor indeed, in each season is found,
For in Nature, beauty truly doth rise and abound.

A Day In The Sky

The cool air,
blowing in my hair,
the sound of bells ringing loud,
sitting down on the soft clouds.
This down right pleasure,
is what I'll treasure,
that no other dream can measure.
These yellow an red skies,
reveals its moment of time,
sleeping in the mid air as much as I please,
the view of the day in the sky,
as clear as the seven seas.

A Moment of Hope The Invisible Man 30

Sometimes I have the courage to think of the things that made me what I am today,
My memory takes me back to terrible things far away far off into my bitter past,
My mind like a maze of dirty black alleys that smell of waste, loss and disgust,
The losses, the drink ripped away, not happy until it was all gone respect as well.

Invisible thinks of a garden where roses clustered with lilies scent on the breeze,
Bees found stores of honey in the petals of a thousand and one different flowers,
Lovers walked hand in hand along its winding path a beautiful dream of the man,
Bright with the embroidery of nature where children played in new myrtle flowers,

As Invisible thinks of this garden it is neglected but flowers can grow with weeds,
It could put a smile upon his face, a face that had never known any joy recently,
He hopes a gardener can covert this garden get rid of ruined waste, back into Eden,
Tending all the beautiful flowers that spring up with the weeds and smell gladness.

If he helped the gardener in his quest a hand might hold his and guide him through,
Maybe a hand would go around his waist to support him as well as guide his hand,
Dare he wish that the guiding hand and the support would be his angel from heaven,
A dear person to help him clear his garden and walk down the winding path as lovers.

An angel that would smile at him maybe hold his hand and squeeze it so very gently,
Would the angel talk to him and tell him that one day they would be together again,
Her beautiful grace shining warmly as she looks up to him, to her he is her hero,
Not a drunken mess that cannot cope, not a dirty vagrant, but her knight her love.

The tenderness of this beautiful scene in his poisoned mind became real he smiled,
He grinned as she sat down next to him as close a she could get then wriggled closer,
Warmth from her body not only warmed him but gave hope this what he has waited for,
She whispered sweetly she loved him and would be waiting for him and they kissed.

Invisible woke with a start and was she not by his side, was she ever with him,
A dream another heart wrenching let down and how could he have dreamed the dream,
It was so real he still felt the warmth, the impression of her hand holding his,
But it must have been a dream his own mind conspired to deliver the hardest blow.

Lost in a grief so deep, his loneliness complete he talks to Sam his imaginary friend.

These days get worse Sam they really do please help me,
I need to change but I need my drink more what can I do,
But I need to change so desperately Sam can you help?
My world has cracked and I've fallen into the crack,
But what I don't understand Sam that I was once good,
If I had any courage Sam I would be laying in my coffin,
Why does life drag you along with it I don't want to go,
Just a bit of icing on my cake Sam it is freezing cold,
Did you know this is where I was brought up my friend,
Did you know that most of the people that walk past I knew,
Sam! I know many of there people but they don't know me,
Why do they all walk past I wish somebody would help,
Maybe when I have drunk more cider I might feel better Sam,
I can remember being happy but not what being happy is like,

As Invisible sits drinking shoppers give him a wide berth and they look at him with hate.

These people Sam they look at me as if I have hurt them,
The people they are not our sort of people they hate me,
Has the world changed like I have but in opposite ways,
My life is full of sorrow drunkenness and dreams Sam,
Old sorrows wont go away new sorrows should take over,
So we have to face both the old and the new that's bad,
At night I try to close my drunken eyes it all returns,
Sam is that the same as you can you close your eyes,
Can you remember the valleys Sam the ones we used to play,
When we ran about all day Sam in the sun rolling in grass,
The old stream that twisted and turned, it had lost its way,
Floating lolly sticks watching them bounce away on ripples,
Buying bangers in November and throwing them into the water,
What I wouldn't do to go back for just a couple of hours Sam,
Just to feel the innocence and try to bring it back to now,
To enjoy what there is to enjoy and maybe get better Sam,
But that will never happen Sam we are lost on an island,
A well populated island but an island all the same Sam,
People are not like ships they don't bother to rescue people,
They just walk around or just walk away all the nice ones gone,
I remember my school Sam it's now been knocked down and left,
It has all gone, all gone no primroses in spring or bluebells,
Do you remember Sam the bluebells used to nod in the wind,
But they have all been built on, whats the use in talking,
Nothing changes from bad to good Sam remember that, eh Sam,

Still drinking his cider tears well into his eyes his nose runs and begins to quietly
to sob. He sits on the shopping parade seat, shaking as he sobs. His throat has a lump
in it so he stops talking to Sam. Invisible sinks his wet face into his overcoat
hides his misery from the people that walk past he just sat there lost and confused. His
greatest sadness an angel paid a visit to the maze of dirty black alleys that smell of waste,
loss and disgust,

Fall

Fall
Falling, loosing solid footing of the solid ground,
I look out of the window and see a tree.
It’s a marvelous sight to see, a rarity longing to be found.
It had a strong trunk with beautiful green leaves.

The days came and went as I would look upon it every day for inspiration.
One day I saw the leave changed to many different colors, from amber oranges to yellows and reds.
Yet it stood there with full aspirations.
I saw as the seasons took away its beauty, leaving it looking half dead.

I would pass by the window and see the tree in the mists of blizzards of snow,
The tree’s beauty was taken away and now it’s tortured by ice cold winds.
And yet it stands firm against the fury of winter that is bestowed.
It stands there unwavering, waiting for the end.

The months go by as the torture does its worst.
Until one morning, a leaf sprung out.
The days passed and more leaves appeared like a magical burst.
Tree kept its faith through the worst without any doubt.

I came to realize there is much to learn from the beautiful tree.
Just because we fall, doesn’t mean we have lost.
Like the tree when we are stripped of our beautiful achievements and successes me mustn’t flee.
Stand firm and fight through at all cost.

For the warmth of success will soon come and mend your heart that is broken.
Collect yourself and begin to spring forward and onward,
Because a fall doesn’t mean that it is the end,
But a beginning waiting to spring out.

My Old Walking Stick

There are no months as beautiful as early summer months wild flowers make the headlines,
Leaning heavy on my old worn hazel wood stick walking to a wooded meadow out of breath,
Clusters of Primrose and large patches of Blue Bells chat with clumps of Spring Violets,
As I stand wheezing the wonderful smells the dampness of wood and flowers give me air.

Lesser Celandine flowers between March and May heart shaped leaves a glistening yellow,
Now feeling a little better my head lifts the top of some large trees seem so far away,
The Cuckoo flower has leaves deeply toothed with spear stems, shows off all its beauty.
The kindle under my gentle walking cracks loudly so the meadow and trees know I am here.

There is a second spring in the forest wooded meadow Snowy Mespilas with white flowers,
It reminds me of winter snow I once enjoyed these days my legs are not what they were,
The tree of heaven spreads climbing sixty feet and the Alder with soft purple catkins,
Leaning on a tree happy to be here with warm sun finding its way through high branches.

Hedgerows dress in the same vernal-looking hue and a Chipmunk darts across a small field,
The Chipmunk runs up the side of a nearby tree if he new me well he would not run away,
Thick scented heather lives on the moorlands side by side with an evergreen Bog Rosemary,
A furry little face high up on a branch is watching me in the same way I am watching him.

A Judas tree with round leaves clusters of magenta, pea like flowers greet me this day,
I wonder why it is called the Judas tree is it the one Judas hung from with silver coins,
Cornelian Cherry flowers at the end of winter, followed by richest bright orange fruits,
A Japanese Quince shows splashes of color they are so white, or salmon or very very pink.

Weigela a beautiful shrub will bell like flowers and a deep red rose brighten the woods,
Times getting on now and I am tired but standing in this beautiful meadow I feel so alive,
Doesn't matter how old or how well a person maybe that same natural beauty is seen by all,
So leaning heavily on my companion the hazel stick I walk back to my home it's a great day.

The Swaying of the Grass

1.

A path leads,

to where wild grass grows,

sashaying in the summer breeze.

2.

Along the path,
lightness settles within,

feeling the grass,
swooning,
tickling ankles,

swaying to the lilting bird-song,

in a dance of intimate abandon,

brushing the remnants of pain away.

3.

Melodies float across fields of green,

delicately caressing my heart,

teasing emptiness to flee,

comforting the mind,

to silently be.

4.

Walking on,
savouring the peace,

a momentary respite,
from the burdens of the now,

all is quiet,

a stillness cradling fractured emotions,

the grass in the fields sway,

dusk descends,

shadows lengthen,

nudging dimming light to take leave,

of the day

RIVER BANK COTTAGE

River Bank Cottage...............

There are days within my life thus far,
I would gladly leave behind.
Though the day we saw this lovely place,
Will never leave my mind.

River Bank Cottage, is up for sale,
Was the sign we saw that day.
And what I saw before my eyes,
Truly took my breath away.

Ivy covered window-sills,
Tulips by a stream.
Water that sparkled like cold champagne,
Befitting any dream.

Crocus in abundance,
And the daff's bright endless glow.
An old dishevelled watermill,
Where the silent waters flow.

Hearing cuckoos in the distance,
Scents of spring-time on the breeze.
The untamed shadows from the sun,
Danced among the willow trees.

Heaven on earth we saw that day,
Happiness so true.
I knew this place before our eyes,
Was meant for me and you..........

A CASTLE HEARTSTONE MYSTERY

A beautiful girl was born
In secret...
On a spring night
Just before dawn

A girl, so fair
A girl, so pretty
Your heart would melt

As she grew
Everything she touched
She loved too
The inner peace
Made people turn and sigh

In the depths of the Castle
She was kept secret
For the mother knew
The humilation and pain too

For the child,
a father was not known
For the mother,
she carried the secret
In her aching heart
On her face, the pain shown

The father, so they say
Handsome and charming
Took her heart
Took her love
Then went away

A girl, so fair
As beautiful as the day
Often wondered
Of the man
Who took her mothers'
heart away

Her mother in despair,
died
A broken heart
No one could repair

The girl,
such sorrow
Yet everything
She touched
She loved too

A girl, so fair
Accepted with innate grace
the loss
She could bare
Serenity , upon her face

Abeautiful child
Bcame a woman
Eerything she touched
Se loved too

On a spring night
Se must find
Te man who helped bring her ,
in to this world
Eerything she touched
Bcame light

Se sensed he was near...
Smething in the wind showing
Whose ripples she could hear
Her fair hair, blowing

A fair wind came
Warm and sweet
from the South
A Prince to meet

A South Wind Prince confessed
A daughter to love
A girl, so fair
Everything she touched,
was blessed

A tale of love spurned
A mothers' despair
A daughters' love returned
A girl, so fair
Averything she touched
She loved too
With a heart,
Carried in you

The Invisible Man 14

I wrote the Invisible man poems many years ago. These poems, and I have not submitted them all, was for a little girl who died in a road accident. They are a tribute to her memory. It was a dark and very sad time and I miss her so much. The Invisible Man poems are supposed to to show the the darkness of my world, the way I felt. They are very precious to me. Thank you for reading.

The invisible man goes behind the stores looking for some food, by then he has
had enough the bitterness and hate. He thinks if he has happy thoughts he will be happy.

It seems its always a warm spring day when I walk with you down my memory lane,
I remember always holding hands with you as we smile and walk down there again,
The sun is shining brightly with flowers budding along the pathways of the past,
Pointing out little birds and beautiful wild flowers are my memories that last,
No clouds dare to mar the sun's watery glow, which melts into skies of soft blue,
No shadows would dare to mask the sun when I'm walking back in time with you,
From those long ago golden times I remember only happiness and never any tears,
Those were the most beautiful days of my life, the sweetest of all my many years,
For a short while I forget my loneliness the dreadful loss the hurting and the pain,
It’s always spring and happiness when we hold hands skipping down old memory lane.

Thinking of the past makes him so very sad, sadness that comes from deep within,
A wrenching passion that makes him lower his head into his coat to hide his warm,
tears that uncontrollably drip from his gaunt cheeks and splash on his ruined shoes.

Nasty bullying men taunting him and pointing out what he already knows that he is a
cancer on society that he stinks worse than the garbage he rummages through and would
better off dead.He shuffles past these people and leans on a wall Invisible sobs loudly he can't stop.
All the pain and constant sadness is too much so he goes to a supermarket and buys some,
cheap booze to ease the pain. He queues with his bottle of cheap vodka his face still wet
with tears. Everyone moves from his queue to another one Invisible cannot get out of the
shop quick enough. He sits on a bench in the shopping center and begins to drink.
The more he drinks the quieter the taunts are. Darkness hides him in neon light his sadness
is now bearable. He sits with his bottle between his legs and just stares at the floor and
as the booze disappears so does Invisible.

MYSTICAL SPRING

The flowers blossom in the spring,
While the colorful birds their song sing.
Life is as beautiful as it ever was,
Flowers, colors, life and wings buzz.

The ants comes out to welcome the sunlight,
The bats and night creatures welcome the warm night.
It's a mystical time of the year spring is,
With it's pleasant sights as is the spring iris.

From death to life, From dark to light,
It's for the eyes the most beautiful sight.
Life itself flows in all directions during this season,
With no particular worries, abundant for no particular reason.

The Rose In Winter

Once upon a time in the gardens there was a beautiful rose. It's beauty was rapturous. Of to

what could it be compared? Each year in Spring it would cry it's rebirth and announce to all

the world of it's glorious beauty but as with all flowers it's veiled reflection dimmed with

the first snows of winter. Sleeping it layeth to once again with Spring's awakening be born

unto vastness of majestic jewels. A precious gem that rivaled the most wondrous of exquisite

deities. Pious reflections of nature ingrained into the threshold of life's beauty.

It so happened that while walking amidst the flowers a little girl stopped to

admire the beautiful rose. She thought about the differences and looked up to her mother

only to say to her" Mother, always when things are bright and cheerful this beautiful rose

amazes the world with it's colors but in times of darkness and despair you see this rose

wither but it never truly dies as other flowers". "Why is this mother"? Lovingly her mother

replied " The rose is as love. When in times of happiness love is as a shining star but in

love as with rose there are oftentimes thorns which betray the valley's of sadness and to

all outwardly appearances love would seem to wither and die; but true love though not seen

is strongest when definitive bleakness and darkness fill the soul". So the rose when seen

through our eyes should remind us that truest beauty comes not in Spring but in darkest

night in Winters keeping.

THE COMING OF THE SPRING QUEEN

When winter became a Spring day.....
The Spring Queen came ,with out delay
She approached through the Whispering Trees
Everything she touched, turned to green
Fresh shoots,budding leaves.....
Flowers to be seen

The Eastern Wind,
bringer of life and green
Followed the Spring Queen
The awakening...........
The greening..........

The Castle gates opened wide
The Spring Queen walked inside..............
The walled garden grown
Welcomed into Castle Heartstone

Her fingers touched the wall........
Instantly the flowers grew..........
In places not before seen
Such is the power of the Spring Queen

The air filled with the sound of birds............
Birdsong, too beautiful for words
For, there was life everywhere
The Spring days,so fair

The mood of the Castle lifted
The life,the colour
The Spring Queen, gifted

The bare trees filled out,
the welcoming shade
The walled garden transformed............
Colour spilling everywhere............
Spring is in the air

Such joy and happiness..........
Bursting through
The Whispering Trees
The East Wind breeze
The meadow flowers, so blue

Fresh flowers filled the Castle...........
Most of all in the Great Hall.........
Where the Heartstone lay,
on the north wall

The hum of bees,
buzzing on the breeze
Spring honey,so sweet...........
A real treat!

The Spring Queen.........
Giving birth...........
To a new and beautiful earth
The land lay green.....
The flowers, to be seen

These flowers,sublime
The emerging springtime............
All too soon the days grew hot.........
The days grew long.........
The days had new meaning............
Soon it would be Summer Queens' time
the intense greening
