Soul mates solace

When my final shadows cling on desperately
Where I fight formidable battles
to merely hold the light
I send you loving vibrations
and soul sustenance
Deep from the cathedral
of one heart to another
where today no choirs sing
nor symphonies play
Yet it is here where we meet
in spiritual solace
here to surrender
and exchange inestimable treasures
recollecting memories
like unopened letters
Galaxies are stretched
over chronicles of shared history
Nebula birthing stars
will be exposed
in forth-coming conversations
bringing short-lived fulfillment to you
Hungry to feast
now will be the time
to approve your blood art vision
and with my own haunting surrender
as dappled shades ink stain your chest
I will reside with you and share, mesmerised
pens - by branding
as this will be your written reams to me
your artist's pallet or brushed canvas
no need for words
and yet creating
mysterious magical moments
Bitter-sweet the music
that dances taut guitar strings
but now blood approved
please go kick your heel up
return to your laughter
and ride on the breeze
for not all are lost
change not
for I am with you always
to love, listen and comfort as one
with you in me and I in you
as masterpiece

I'm my Daddy Made Over

Dedicated to my Dad Jerry W. Niday 3/20/1952 - 6/18/2013

I am who I am because of him
He’s the reason for my son’s name
He gave me my courage & my strength
To stand tall even when standing wasn’t easy
Stand for the ones who can’t
To think and fend for myself
I’m my Daddy made over

Taught me to fight back
To never back down
How to pick myself back up
When I’ve been knocked down
Fight for what I believe
I’m my Daddy made over

He gave me my stubbornness
Gave me my pride
Gave me my temper
Taught me not to take crap
To speak my mind no matter who
Work for what I want
I’m my Daddy made over

How to keep my emotions in check
How to handle large amounts of pain
When in trouble he always had my back
He knew how my mind worked better than anyone
I got it from him
I’m my Daddy made over

Even though he’s gone
I’ll stand and continue on
I may stumble I may fall
May even get hurt along the way
But I’ll pick myself back up
I’ll dust myself off and stand tall
I’m honored and proud to say
I’m my Daddy made over

Dementia

He was always so happy
strong and bold.
He'd give you the shirt off of his back.
Tough.
Independent.
He had a rough life
growing up through the depression,
but like he always does,
he got through it.
He has two boys, of whom he is so proud.
Moved from Regina, to Victoria.
He had the best life anyone his age could have wanted.
But ever since his wife died,
he has not been the same.
Sad
Lonely
Empty.
But like he has always done,
he got through it.
Mind slipping,
just a little forgetful.
That's how it always starts out...
But like always, he powered through it,
until now...
He is not the same person that I used to know.
He been sentenced to the prison in his own mind.
Possessed by the thoughts of his dogs ashes.
He likes to play the blame game,
but we know he doesn't remember that it was him.
He wakes up in the night
shaking with pain,
tears streaming down his face.
There is nothing we can do,
Oh well...
Two more tylenol.
Hold on to hope
for as long as you can,
It's only a matter of time now.
He gets vocal, a very loud tone.
He'll block you in your room
and make false accusations
But we know that it's the pain induced monster in him.
Tick tock, tick tock...
You can't handle the stress anymore
you have to leave.
Just hope for the best,
maybe it will get better.
Surprise, it doesn't.
Your denial is foolish, everyone knows
what happens next.
Sedation
Medication
Anger
Hurt
All results of
dementia

Bill

R.I.P. William Dale Eubanks
d. July 1, 2012, aged 68 yrs., Tennessee Ridge, Tennessee

Death came as no surprise
the first Sunday in July;
it claimed you, on a ridge in Tennessee,
with kin who took you in and waited with you
through the last hard days.
You kept what fears you had well hid,
did not betray with loud complaint
the fate you could not but know awaited.
A smile, a joke, a hug – exotic meals –
And genuine interest greeted all you met.
And you were, certainly, never boring
but well-traveled and smart
beyond the telling.
We’ll miss your wit, your bright demeanor,
and will remember all you freely gave ---
and what you took from us
with your passing.

He Loved You

He loved you too, you know
Loved you like his very own
In away you were
You came into his life as my friend
Through the years you grew to be my brother in arms
Along the way you became the son he never had

He loved you as a friend
He loved you even more as a son
A son he never had
When things began to spiral out of control
You stayed when so many others ran away
You helped when I couldn’t

You meant a great deal to him
You never looked at him differently
Nor did you treat him differently
You stood by his side
When he fell, you stood by his side and mine
You were willing to help me fight his battle for him
You were there from the beginning
You were there until the bitter end
Always remember my friend, my brother
He loved you more than you’ll ever know

Dedicated to close Family friend Rodney Howard. He loved my Daddy just as much as I did/do.

We Lost More Than a Dad

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost half of how we came to be
We lost we four girls first love
We lost our Best Friend

We lost more than just a Dad that day
Our Mom lost her Soul Mate, Her other half
Our children lost their Papaw
We lost our family’s foundation
We lost the glue that held us together

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost the Strongest man we ever knew
We lost the man we looked up too
We lost we four girls Teacher of many things

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We four girls lost our Hero
We lost some of our Light
We lost part of our Heart
We lost part of our Soul

We lost more than just a Dad that day
We lost some of our Courage
We lost some of our Strength
We lost some of our will to fight back
We lost some of our will to carry on
We four girls lost more than a Dad
We lost more than just a Dad that day

Let Him Go

This poem I wrote. I call it " Let Him Go "

Sweetheart don't cry
Don't let him make you feel like your nothing
You do have family even though we are not close by
I know your heart is crushing
Don't harp on the past
Don't let him play with your head
You need to get over him fast
His feelings for you are dead
Over 2 years and you still don't have a ring
Your not the one he calls his wifey to be no more
Take a seat and listen up girl here is the thing
He's playing with your feelings and using you like a two dollar whore
I know you were smart once and can be again
He has you so brain washed it's not funny
I know hearing all this is a strain
Think of the example your setting for you little ones honey
Hold your head high and walk away from that loser mama's boy
Show him that your the one that is too good for his sorry ass
Hell he's such a mama's boy you can find better pleasure in a toy
Your related to me so come on show your sass
Let go of the past and look to a new future
Let go of the pain and the control freak
Say bye bye Looser
It will get easier one step at a time week by week......

The Lament For an Angel

All in one faded-black day (but let None forget) In my arms, her body lay (my life was the price to pay) A tragedy, through the lack of humanly shame (do they know pain) My darkly colleen has to suffer no more (Robert nor do you) Let me die (please hear my haunted cries) If I can not see Sophie tonight (live on with my grey) I'm just a mess of despairing words And broken nerves Another mourning, afflicted sight (through decay, love can remain) Solace, sympathy are just more lies She is all I need Until you decide she is just another sadist's toy My Angel, why did you have to fly so far away My Angel, just let one feather stay My Angel has flown away My Angel, why did you have to fly so far away My Angel, just let one feather stay My Angel has flown away (My body is amortal, die I may, Together, our hearts will forever stay)

Grandma

There's not much to say.
I knew her, know some things,
but certainly not all.

I know how little she put up with fools,
how her cooking surpassed so many others',
how simultaneously sweet and hard she could be.
I know about her smoking,
about her jewelry, her faith,
all these I'll hold close to me.

Every single spark, every star,
shines with such a glow, such a marvelous radiance,
that we can't gaze too closely at it,
lest we cause ourselves pain.
And yet, despite ourselves, again and again,
we do;
because it's not within us to resist
the sheer beauty of it all,
of stories and of life.

A bouquet of tulips for you.
We all miss you already, Grandma.
I miss you.
I know Heaven's got you, taking no guff as always,
making sure we're all doing alright.
I love you.

The Angel We Gave To You

The Angel We Gave To You...

He could have taken anyone
But no one really knew
Of all the people in this world
God had chosen you

Your little face so beautiful
We loved you from the start
Every tiny part of you
Engraved upon our hearts

Every precious moment
Every hour that you gave
Every time we held you
Was a precious memory made

We’ll never see you smile
We will never watch you grow
Which makes the time we had with you
More precious that you know

Everyday we'll send you
Love and kisses up above
For nothing’s greater in this world
Than mummy and daddy’s love

In times of pain and sadness
When we feel all hope is gone
We’ll know that in your sister, and our hearts
You will live on

And when we go to bed each night
We’ll close our eyes and pray
We’ll put our hands together
And this to God we’ll say

“You’ve taken someone special
Who we love more than you know
So brave, but very fragile
So with you she had to go

Please wrap her in your tender arms
And love her like we do
And cherish every moment
The Angel…we gave to you”

Goodbye Granddad

Gravity pulls my tears into pools.
Im sinking in sorrow -emotional fuels.

Just turn back the time, I just want a moment.
To say goodbye once, to cherish and own it.

I loved my granddad - a man more than great.
Paired with my Granny as the perfect mate.

A montage of memories that rush my soul.
My eyes fill with tears, I'm losing control.

Just keep it together, it's what he would want.
They all say the same, but I stand in front.

Happiness swells, yet sadness prevails.
Like Christ on the cross, with hands full of nails.

Life has a reason, and death isn't treason.
-It's moving on up.. A lifetime's a season.

I look to the sky and say my goodbye.
The time won't turn back, I gave it a try.

I close my eyes and imagine this-
Paradise in a place full of bliss.

World peace in a piece of the world.
Without loss and bombs never hurled.

Snow that falls that doesn't freeze.
Sun that shines that doesn't cease.

A land where "The forever" is real.
A scene where the sick always heal.

Life with infinite love, like gusts in the wind.
Two little doves, with eternities to spend.

God has a plan, fool-proof to the core.
Now Granddad's with him, a reward of much more.

-Yours Truly

Where are you

You flourished and blurred
like a spark on wind

Gracefully and quickly like a frightened hind
in pursuit of light

You harvested through bushy meadows
taken by blight

In struggle with plight
had you lost your might

And gave out
although never you gave up.

Where are you?
For you must be still there.

For I still can feel you
somewhere in the air.

We Miss You Uncle Herman

When we think of our friend Herman Weeks.
We think of a person very gracious and sweet!

He was always a pleasure to be around!
And brought laughter to his side of town!

From everyone that’s had a chance to meet him.
He was special! We’ll never forget him!

He was very humble, gracious and kind!
People like him are special! And hard to find!

We knew from the day that he met Snow.
She helped to make his empty life whole!

The creations and many things he made.
Were wonderful works of his hands displayed!

His service to the country and fellow man.
Is a beautiful gift that few understand!

Over the years, he’s brought joy to our hearts!
We’ve all loved him from the very start!

Thank you Lord! For blessing us from above.
For Herman and his heart filled with love.

We know now he’s in a better place.
Filled with God’s presence and his grace.

Our lives have been blessed to have him with us!
We’ll miss him! He sure has blessed us!

To Herman we give our hearts filled with cheer!
We love you very much and wish you were here!

Home of the Slaves

Land of the free
Home of the slaves
The blood, sweat and tears of my ancestors resonate
Amongst the soil where they were slain
I’m hearing their struggle
I’m feeling their pain
I can’t imagine being forced to part from my family
All for massa’s gain
So I pay homage to those who promoted change

People like every slave who tried to escape
Nat Turner, Ms Carlotta, Harriet Tubman
And the safe houses who were in accord
And peg leg Joe with his song
Follow the drinking gourd.

People like, the disregarded - those thrown overboard
And who was dismissed and defamed
The ones who were stripped of their soul, their pride, their names

The list could go on
The full will never be told
So I pay homage to others who were bold
Like John Brown, The Freedom Riders, Sojourner Truth
Ida B Wells, Phyllis Wheatley, Maya Angelou,
Langston Hughes and Charles Drew

George Washington Carver, Ruby Bridges
Booker T Washington and Mary McCleod Bethune
Charles Houston, Ralph Bunche, Fredrick Douglass
WEB Dubois, Paul Robeson, Ralph Abernathy
Benjamin Banneker, Marcus Garvey and Crispus Attucks
Who’s death by the way
Symbolized the American lie
You cant declare the rights of all men
While the people of African decent rights get denied
But still we rise

Thanks to Dr Martin Luther King, Malcolm X,
The Black Panthers, the Buffalo Soldiers and Tuskegee Airmen
None who were showed any love
Yeah it’s an uphill battle,
But obviously greatness can be done.

We can rise above this stigma
That blacks are lazy and daunting
That our worth is null and void
And in essence minus nothing
And of all the names mentioned
And the greatness of their successes
No one has been able to erase the evil transgressions of a racist mind
And once you have experienced just a taste of it
It changes your perception of time
The oppression beats like the drum on the chariot
Of when it was finally time to escape to freedom
It's mine

Solitude: To Yoda, An Ode

Green bark a prism creates,
Feel the pull of earth, you must.

Rotates, a slime of endless hates,
Can hold me not, this world’s crust.

Friendship’s ties, isolation Deflates,
Succumbs, my spaceship, to bitter rust.

Mist, my soul forever permeates,
Lift-off, booms the rocket’s thrust.

My spirit when light returns, elates,
Swamps swell, swallowed hope’s swirling dust.

Trapped, I am, until student from fate
Arrives to learn; Cloud City or bust.

SUNSET AT NOON

The day becomes night;
As a comrade transcend
To true world beyound.
Oh! Finally, a jolly good fellow drops the baton;
A justice of peace with unstained character,
A sacrificial giver who neglected his needs.
Death, you never cease to amase
As you drive home valiant colleagues.
Death! Hope you know?
Here a while we must be parted
Because
For a while the tired body
Erupt in sleep.
Soul and body reunited.
Thence; death, nothing shall divide
Father, mother, child and brethren.
Nevertheless, the dead, you were great while alive
And great in death.
The pens, sleep till we meet and part no more.

GROUND ZERO

GROUND ZERO Today as I stand here, With your name engraved not just on stone But in the hearts of millions who thank you For not letting them cry, I feel proud that it was you… We wish you were here, There’s not a day we don’t think of you. There’s not a minute we don’t miss you. But we’re glad you ran into death So that a thousand others could walk into life. It was not your duty, You weren’t meant to be there, But you took it up, Did what you had to do As a citizen of the global world. The little ones will never know What a wonderful person you were. But they’ll always know that You were a hero… How you died for the greater good… Tears, grief, pride, longing - a blend of everything. Its been ten years, ten long years But the memory’s still fresh and cutting. It still hurts to know That you could be here had you stayed back. But you didn’t and that’s made you a hero. You ran straight into it While a thousand others were running away. Your death is history…. Millions died with you But you stand out ‘coz you made your choice. As I stand here, I know that a decade ago, today You were here somewhere, Running into a cloud of dust and ashes Searching for the smallest sign of movement To bring them back to life. Somewhere between the despair and hope You forgot to breathe… I pray every day that History would rewind itself Back to that fateful September morning, Not because I want to hold you back… But because I want to come with you… It would have made a difference. I know it would have… I know you’re with me In my dreams, in my daily life Laughing at my blunders, Guiding me through hardships. My guardian angel… On this September morning, Not exactly the same as before, Here I am telling the world That my twin brother died Saving the victims of 9/11.

When I grow old

I will grow old
I tremble in the cold
None to care
I have nothing to fear...

But my love is alive
Though I strive
Beautiful roses to pluck
Yet I am stuck..

I grow old with wrinkle
Yet I will kinker
You will always remain in my mind
This is how you will find...

The Women

The Women

(for the countless women, names unknown, who bore the brunt of Apartheid, and who fought the racist system at great cost to themselves and their families, and for my mother, Zubeida Moolla)

Pregnant, your husband on the run,
your daughter, a child, a few years old,

they hauled you in, these brutish men,
into the bowels of Apartheid's racist hell.

They wanted information, you gave them nothing,
these savage men, who skin happened to be lighter,

and white was right in South Africa back then,

but, you did not cower, you stood resolute,

you, my mother, faced them down, their power,
their 'racial superiority', their taunts, their threats.

You, my mother, would not, could not break,

You stood firm, you stood tall.

You, like the countless mothers did not break, did not fall.

You told me many things, of the pains, the struggles,

the scraping for scraps, the desolation of separation
from your beloved Tasneem and your beloved Azad,

my elder sister and brother, whom I could not grow
up with, your beloved children separated by time, by place,

by monstrous Apartheid, by brutish men,
whose skin just happened to be lighter.

You told me many things, as I grew older,
of the years in exile, of the winters that grew ever colder.

You were a fighter, for a just cause,
like countless other South African women,

you sacrificed much, you suffered the pangs,
of memories that cut into your bone, your marrow,

you resisted a system, an ideology, brutal and callous and narrow.

Yes, you lived to see freedom arrive, yet you suffered still,
a family torn apart, and struggling to rebuild a life,

all the while, nursing a void, that nothing could ever fill.

I salute you, mother, as I salute the nameless mothers,

the countless sisters, daughters, women of this land,
who fought, sacrificing it all for taking a moral stand.

I salute you, my mother, and though you have passed,
your body interred in your beloved South African soil,

you shall remain, within me, an ever-present reminder,

of the cost of freedom, the struggles, the hunger, the toil.

I salute you!

(for the brave women of South Africa, of all colours,
who fought against racial discrimination and Apartheid)

Sunken Tears

                                   He stood bravely before me
with a medal of honor in his right hand
and a bandage of agony around his left knee
It seemed like he had struggled to stand,
his crutches lay useless on the ground
I found it hard to understand why,
a soldier in pain didn't even frown
With a voice firm but dry
his words shook me like thunder
"You're now the man of this house"
he uttered like a worn-out hunter
quivering up my legs like a terrified mouse
Drowning my mind through cold ears
he passed his sincere respect and sunken tears

My Great Grandpa

Great Grandpa Zerbst, I wish was here
I'd like him still around
He had a herd of Hereford cows
His farmin' sense was sound

He passed away when I was young
I'd only seen him twice
But even though his life was rough
I'm sure that he was nice

At first, he had some horse-drawn rigs
To grow his crop of wheat
A tractor then, in place of them
That had a metal seat

He had a herd of ninety cows
A huge Wyomin' spread
But now a herd of oil-rigs
Are drillin' in their stead

A lot of things Great Grandpa knew
From distant Germany
But now these things I wish I knew
Are buried 'neath a tree

Sad girl rising

Sad girl rising

Let me tell you about this girl I know
My cousin, this girl be
Her life has been so very sad
But how wonderful is she
She was a wild child, till she married
And had her first born child
When she found out that his brain was damaged
It really drove her wild.

She took the Doctor through the courts
Then fought for ten long years
To get the money she deserved
And she cried so many tears
She gained a million pound at last
To help her with the lad
And yet the damage it was done
And it really drove her mad.

Her and her hubby cared for he
And gave their lives to him
It was a twenty four, seven job
But at times it got real grim
She would do just anything
To make his life more sweet
But when she got that Parkinson’s
She was close on to defeat

But no, she struggled with the odds
And though it’s ten years on
Never does this girl give up
When all her hope seems gone
She smiles, and carries on with courage
Like I’ve never seen before
She’s something kind of wonderful
She’s a hero, that’s for sure.

Dedication to Everyone

I feel that I have found a home in this cyberspace
with full of hearts and ideas in a special place
I wonder of all the people in the world to make me smile
with antics that help me grow in every mile
I do want to say to all of the people with respect
because of all of you my mind is not in a wreck
I would lie if I did not get ideas from all of you
without you my poems would not come true
I bless everyone with care
with kindness and without dis-pare
I hold my hands high and put them together
with this I bless you with good weather
I do read some of the poems that people put out
sometimes I feel with out a doubt
I feel the pain in the poems that some has revealed
with hopes that they can read with their mind not sealed
I smile a bunch with every word
it is like a music in my head making a cord
I do want you all to know that you have made my day
to be a better day in every different array
I cherish my time with all the people in my heart
the words flow in my mind is just but a start
I'm happy with everyone in PoetrySoup.com
with hardship that came this cyberspace makes me calm
I cannot choose five cause if I do I don't think it's right
just to tell you that is just my own insight
I thank all for helping me grow with all the poems that are shown
with faith and humor, with views of kindness this site has grown

If I had to say or dedicate my poems to who
would be the first five who reads my poems with a point of view

Baby Shalom's Shattered Dreams

Daddy, mommy, why are you laying me down on the grave?
I was dreaming before that you’ll be putting me in my cozy crib.

Are you so remorseful and that's the reason you are crying?
I’m only five months old trying to understand your feeling.

You got married so young and you didn’t know what to do
You didn’t take care of me in your womb but, still I love you so.

I was dreaming and wishing you to nurture me with your love
Give all the things I need until I grow and make you proud.

I am so deeply wounded, but I forgive you with what you did
I’ll just be your little angle to guide you both and your next kid.

As we bid goodbye then , bring with you my shattered dreams
I do plead, to my brothers or sisters make them whole again.

Daddy, mommy, thank you so much for my very beautiful name
Don’t forget your Baby Shalom whose love will forever be the same.

Praying For The Day

I pray for the day,
That my sweet child comes home,
To my loving arms,
So, I can love and hold them tightly,
Each and everyday of their lives,
To be there for them and guide them,
As they learn to grow,
Into a wonderful adult,
That I know they will become,
For they have such a wonderful heart,
And as people will see them grow each year,
Learning along their way,
Having their own imagination,
To shine and guide them,
To be a very unique person of their own,
But they are already very different,
In many different ways,
By their looks and their loving heart,
And of course being very smart,
Their beauty will shine,
In many different ways,
Both inside and out,
And I pray for the day,
They will come home,
To stop these painful, loving tears.

Missing An Angel

I’m missing so much one of my angels
who constantly guided me since birth
he used to talk to me in a long distance
his lovely voice was a real spirit booster

all the other angels have called me up
bringing me all their wishes and love
but the other angel I’m missing now
I want even the silhouette of his voice

dear angel of mine, please hear me cry
will you appear in my dreams tonight
I just want to tell you how I am
like I did with the rest of whom you love

I really miss to tell you a story
whenever I am happy and lonely
and all the love and joys around me
trying all to keep my spirit healthy

but, there’s one thing I want to tell
please continue looking after me
keeping me in your ardent prayer
and ask God to remove the bitter pill

I want to tell you that I’m still fine
as long as I am still kicking and alive
All I need is a constant fortitude
In this temporary world I don’t own

I’m missing you so much my angel
speak in a dream of your sweet girl
greet and make a loving wish for her
may she has a longer life in this world

the strength of death

O death!!! Why is the
reason behind your actions
unknown
Where can our oceans meet
That l may accuse you of
injuctice and wickedness
Why does your action
transform vibrancy to
nothing but dust.
Why, why but why?
Why leaving the
condemned to commit
more atrocities and
montrousness
The just spend but a
moment
This may be because you
don't want them to have a
hard taste of corruption
Through your actions;
Homes are broken,
Hearts are divided,
Tears and pains abound
Think, think, thinkless death

Lucinda

Her name is Lucinda, a mere child, just turned fourteen
This hapless woman child, born of the blood of many lands
Conceived of youthful passion, in a moment of youthful lust
She arrived unplanned, unwanted and unloved, as no child ever should
Like you and I she has her hopes, her dreams, her needs and her plans
Here before us stands, this lovely child on the cusp of a blossoming womanhood
Abandoned by those who should care but who are oblivious to
Her wants, her needs, her dreams
Cast to the hands of fate to drift alone upon these savage streets, alone to face the night
You know they found her early Sunday morning, at early morning light
Lying silently in the crimson blood, the blood that once had held her precious life
Her name was Lucinda, a mere child, a lovely child, just turned fourteen
Cry a tear for her, SCREAM.

Paying back what I owe

Paying back what I owe.

I guess that some are wondering
Why I’m writing all this stuff
About the man John Sherman
Maybe you’ve had enough
But I owe the man so much
He taught me how to be
A man who lives more in the moment
With a heart and soul that’s free.

I was angry, rude and antisocial
I had no friends at all
No one wanted me around
I’d drive them up the wall
With all my foolish paranoid
And the hatred deep within
I tried with everything I had
To quell the nasty din.

But then I read Johns message
As I did surf the net
He told me ’do one little act!!’
And I have no regrets
That I did take the mans advice
For look at me today
My happiness is my success
And joy, it is my way.

Now I’m a very loyal man
I must pay back what I owe
John and Carla changed my life
So I want the world to know
I make me no false promises
I just say look and see
It doesn’t cost nothing at all
But it made a brand new me.

For Men Everywhere One Billion Rising

1 Billion Rising.

For Men Everywhere.

Stop! Listen! Think! Act!

Stop!

Stop the abuse!

Of grand-daughters,
colleagues,
daughters,
girlfriends,
partners,
mothers,
sisters,
nieces,
wives,

all women.

Listen!

Listen to the voices!

Of grand-daughters,
colleagues,
daughters,
girlfriends,
partners,
mothers,
sisters,
nieces,
wives,

all women.

Think!

Think of how you treat,

grand-daughters,
colleagues,
daughters,
girlfriends,
partners,
mothers,
sisters,
nieces,
wives,

all women.

Act!

Act now to change yourself!

Stop! Listen! Think! Act!

The violence,
the abuse,
the rape,

stops when you stop,

the violence,
the abuse,
the rape.

Stop! Listen! Think! Act!

The violence,
the abuse,
the rape,

is perpetrated by,

grand-fathers,
colleagues,
boyfriends,
husbands,
nephews,
brothers,
partners,
fathers,
uncles,

men,

all men.

Stop! Listen! Think! Act!

The violence,
the abuse,
the rape,

stops when us men stop,

The violence,
the abuse,
the rape,

today, now.

Stop! Listen! Think! Act!

Goats

Goats

They’re everywhere
These pretty little creatures
On the serpent road to Exmouth
They be some of the features
Along with Emus, Kangaroos
And handsome birds of prey
These little goats be bountiful
They’re all along the way.

They be domestic goats
Who’ve gone back to the wilds
Where they have bred one million fold.
As one moves along the miles
These little goats be seen so much
In their many shades and hues
Don’t know where they got their water
It be tough country too.

The weather here be hot and dry
As the sun bakes everything
And mostly here no rain does fall
To drinking water bring.
And yet these goats look healthy as
Such nimble little beasts
You’d see some dead there in the road
As the crows do have their feast.

That be the price of progress
That poor beasts have to die
That be the curse of human beings
Sometimes it makes me cry
Yet still they be so plentiful
These handsome little guys
Another little part of nature
That make love in me rise.

THE BLACK TENTH

That day is just another day,
Boarding buses driving car,
Some smile or sleep at hay,
Others chatting while driving far.

Thru and flow those journey,
One's mind will never across,
Death angel is on the hurry,
Waiting right spot for a man's loss.

Impact of dark angel wings,
Thrown and messed every stream,
All those agony brings,
Smash out those living dreams.

15 lives been told,
15 souls turned cold,
15 and 15 themselves,
Will never erased from shelves.

Family of 15 cried,
Shocked till tears dried,
The rest are in blurry side,
Come to known they are still alive.

That black tenth,
15 lost souls never reached home,
That black tenth,
Malaysia's most sour dome.

That black tenth,
Will forever remembered...

R.I.P for those 15 souls

Farewell My Friend

I remember the days that we
spent together in my pursuit to
further my knowledge, you as
my mentor and I as your pupil.

Down through the years we have
had more then just a teacher and
pupil relationship, we became the
very best of friends.

I watched your hair turn grey and then
you watched mine, sadly I received
news today coming from afar that you have
gone on your final journey and we
shall never have those long academic
discussions ever again.

Such news that greeted me gave me
such a heavy heart and tears in my
eyes, for I know I shall never see
my dear friend again.

I will forever cherish the fond memories
of the past years we had shared and
our friendship and reminisce on all the
good times for those will always be
with me.

You will always have a very special
place in my heart, my mentor and
my dear friend always.
A friend that shared my life.

those low down dirty blues again

Those low down dirty blues again remind me ‘bout bad times I knew, when tears poured down like driving rain. Those low down dirty blues again that make me sing a sad refrain ‘cause deep inside’s so dark and blue. Those low down dirty blues again remind me ‘bout bad times I knew. Don’t let them take what’s left of me; it’s all I got, just help me live. So strum it down now, set me free; don’t let them take what’s left of me. Just play it hard, don’t want to see that pain is all life has to give. Don’t let them take what’s left of me, it’s all I got, just help me live.

To The Niece That Never Was

Sweet little girl who snuck upon her mom
without plans already in place to meet,
you’re a tiny hero, a bitter balm
for the wound that left an empty car seat.
A routine visit that ended in tears,
and an operation for the next week.
My sister’s truth was a mother’s worst fear,
never to hold her babe, to stroke her cheek.

After the grim appointment, her eyes glazed
her heart rate jumped high, and her fever raised.
Illness would have stolen her, but for fate.
You had asked a favor at heaven’s gate.
Thank you for saving my sister, sweet one.
I wish though, it didn’t mean your life was done.

Rest InPeace Regan

Rest in peace my charming friend; lo your body is now asleep but you spirit remains with us always. With our constant lively action, everything seems much more still without you here, but we shall remember and cherish you as you were-fun loving and full of life. You lit up the world around you just a little bit more with your perky attitude and bright smile.
Evening twinkles a little bit brighter with a newly gained star. A special one-of-a-kind treasure with your light of burning passion smiling down upon us as you await our arrival
Softly we hum to your memory; as we blissfully play back in our minds all the times we had with you.
Time was cruel, taking you at early twenty-one years, but we took what we could-what we were given and made the best of everything we had. Cherishing every moment and enjoying you and your hilarious antics

Invaluable you were to everyone who met you and knew you. You were an amazing person and wonderful friend who always stood by everyone’s side and helped those who needed it. Knowing how full of life you always were, it’s hard to believe that you are now parted from this life. I still see you with that glorious smile upon your face filling your eyes with a deviously mischievous twinkle…
Never did I imagine I’d be having to say my final farewell so soon; the way you were burns in my mind as I whisper my love and goodbyes to you one last time...

Rest in sweet peace my dear friend; never will you ever be forgotten- Forever engrained in our minds your legacy will continue one for years to come…
Early morning reality strikes its cold, hard chord as sudden sadness as despair finally sinks in… you have been removed from this broken world where we mourn your loss; the pain hitting each person deeper than the one previous
Goodbye my adventurous dream, the spark of memories hold together the shattering pieces of my cracked heart that sorrow threatens to crush in the grips of its mighty claws tightly surrounding my aching, bleeding heart…
Angels rejoice as they gather you in hugs and welcome your coming, leading you to your place beside our lord, residing with him as you patiently await the rest of us to join you
Nostalgically I smile and watch as you fade into my dreams; I will never forget you my friend, remember me as we wait to see each other once more…

For the Dying Orphan

I let you die for my name As you reached for my hands Out of waters of drowning What a hypocrite this writer is The Hatred of Solitude Letting an orphan dream Then destroy him with knowledge Of what you have done He opened up to you In new ways But in nostalgic guises The springwinds whisper blithe yore But the winterwinds, much stronger Caress you with the dreams of your funeral sky “It was you… it was your fault… Letting the one who was so open to you Be the laugh… the piece in the game…”

TWLOHA - you are loved

This is a tribute to TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms)

You Are Loved...

Put down the knife
and listen to the song
You can't keep going
like this for long,
Think of all the
beauty inside,
& not of why
youre criticised.
Know your better days
are ahead,
You are more loved
then you'll ever know,
This is not the end
of your story,
You still have
much more to grow!
You are not alone.
Know someone smiles
because youre alive,
So think of them,
& not of
why you cry.

Letter to bereaved ones

I beg your forgiveness for I am not long for this world. Happenstance has led me down this path so crooked and forlorn. Misery has preceded my path and darkened my senses all but torn. Mistakes have illuminated my way though their light be a fallacy; an illusion to comfort a tortured mind, riddled with confusion and false fancy. ‘Tis only just to forgive me sisters, I am not long for this world.

An image wreaks havoc with my memory. A picture so horrendous the effects of its trauma echo through the hallways of time. The sight that for all my life I was so grateful to possess, leads me now to curse what gods may be that granted it me. For surely had I never seen the sight of him, cold and lifeless, I would have eventually endeavoured to be healed in my spirit. The fault is mine; it was never him but I that had the capacity to change. ‘Tis only right to forgive me father, I am not long for this world.

My middle name should rather have been disappointment. That is all I have ever delivered to her who brought me into the world and nurtured an infant into a lady. I call her Gaia, that is her spirit name. My existence has put lines on her face prematurely and caused her to despair time and time again. The audacity of me now to leave this earth without ever having produced for her a grandchild. The insolence of leaving only words to counter the preponderance of condolences from rejoicing enemies that shall now assail and abuse her. My soul is repentant, twas never the intent to hurt your heart dear Gaia. ; Tis only compassionate to forgive me mother, I am not long for this world.

As for the empty future that awaits me. No children to carry on the memory of me. No great achievements to render my life the content of legend. No great works to immortalise me in poem and prose. No others to mourn the passing of a life most unremarkable. Nothing but things, regrettable decisions, words left unsaid and the cold sound of silence to mark that most auspicious event. Death finds me waiting and unafraid with only the last words to pass from these lips; ‘tis only fair to forgive me self, for we are not long for this world.

Good Morning, Apocalypse Now : A Tribute to a Vietnam Veteran

Untitled 5
(My Uncle: Good Morning, Apocalypse Now)

My uncle doesn't speak much
about Vietnam or the stuff
he witnessed when he
was just a boy. See,
he likes to drive the back roads fast
and honk at random cars that pass.
His friendly gestures always lead to how
he grew up compared to kids now.

Jumping and racing trains on the tracks
became dodging bullets and carrying his buddy on his back.
The marshes and dirt valleys here
became the forests and trenches of the military frontier.

Last year, my sister donned his jacket
a fatigued fatigue that hung in his closet.
In color and memory darkened,
kept out of sight for fear it would harken
the PTSD he's stuggled to avoid.

He saw his brothers, young like him
to Vietnam succumb
while on American soil
and he promised he would never speak,
for fear his stomach would coil,
when remembering rice - a dish he no longer enjoys.
And there's no orange on his clothes to remind him of the agent that destroyed.

When he speaks a calm
"Good morning", I wonder if he's thinking of Vietnam
or if he knows
that I admire his strength and
bravery and how
he continually fights against
the "Apocalypse Now".

Bullets rain tears

Young and innocent they went to school
 Expecting to learn and play
Never in anyones wildest of dreams
 Did we expect that day
For a rain of tears to shell them
From one lost deep to sin
But heavenly hosts came down for them
 Releasing them from him
The devil he did have his day
But God in end dost win
For noubt will be lost but these young lives
Will not be gone in vain
The laws of the land will change in ways
For it must not happen again

Those who reign must stand on this
Take stance and make a difference
No one should be able to take a life
 With intent nor mindless innocence
For even when with madmans mind
You cannot be left to mingle
How can you be able to walk in shop
Purchase guns and not be liable
Actions speak far louder than words
And if we let just one slip through
 Without accounting for their sin
It might well be me or you

For on anyone these bullets
Might be named to fall upon
So make a difference – make a change
 Add your name – petition
The whole wide world mourns in shame
An Amnesty is long past needed
Write your letters – use your vote
Act now while it is fresh
And pray for the souls of all those lost
That each by the Lord be blessed
Also for those who’ve lived through this
That they might find a way
To find the strength and courage
To step out further each day

Voices From The Sky

So sad So very, very sad Those voices from the sky So little time So much to say, In those Moments before they die So few So very, very few The words that said goodbye So far away So very, very far away… Yet heard…every whisper…every sigh So many… I love you’s so many stifled cries So many pauses…so many tear-filled eyes So lovely So very, very lovely Those precious words from on high So silent So very, profoundly silent After that last goodbye Those last “I love you’s, Tell the kids I love them too We’ll meet again… me and you” Phones gently So, so gently Laid down and moved aside So hard So very, very hard to leave Those voices from the sky Let's Roll!!

A man called Bob

A man called Bob

I met a man some years ago
A man with so much soul
He was a Maori warrior
And he seemed so very whole
We used to play Guitar together
And we’d talk of mystic things
Whenever I think of my friend Bob
Such sadness does this bring.

Bob he was a ‘one off’ man
He stood there all alone
Most folk they just worshipped him
For never was he known
To hurt someone in anyway
With mouth or foolish act
He was a total ‘gentle man’
With courage, style and tact.

Old Bob, he taught me how to live
Though I’m not there quite yet
He died of cancer of the brain
And I will not forget
How I watched his essence leave his shell
On that day so long ago
Now in, my deepest vastest depths
A part of him does glow.

So Many

So many surviving,
Desperation is driving
Impulsive decisions
In need of emotional circumcision,
So many astray
In a world of disarray
Polluted by deception
In need of a spiritual resurrection,
So many sedated
Zombies that have mated
Domino effect
When the substance causes havoc
So many in a daze
From their lies and heathen ways
False comfort, counterfeit light
Consuming all their appetites
So many in chains
From years of hurt and pain
Paralyzed by the one
Who was cast out of the sun
So many bleeding
Yet they are doing the leading
Cannibals are feeding
Not listening to those who are pleading
So many, so many, run away
Traded their birth right for moments of gray,
Tranquilizers to disguise
The torment they hold deep inside
So many forgot,
That blood was shed to remove their spots
Tormented souls who have fallen down
Those who found out no one was around
So many isolated,
Infected with self-hatred
Pride comes before the fall
There is only one who can save them all
Only God can make them whole
Give them a purpose and a goal
So many drowning in their fears
In pure ignorance they don’t see clear.

An Unforgiven Tune

Scanting, ranting, seething persona provides –
the confinement and hatred inside you hide.
Screaming, steaming, aggressive overtones –
provide a key witness of a relationship unknown.

Shivering, quivering, the innocent will crumble,
to a raving lunatic with a malicious mad stumble.
Convicted, addicted, to the same vindictive game,
this romance conceived within lies and shame.

Silently, violently, cursing the call of creation,
vowing to avenge this marital bond castration.
Pawing, gnawing, at an open bloody wound,
strumming, and humming life's unforgiving tune.

My Big Brother Is Watching You Too

"My Big Brother" up and down the street
He could be anyone you meet
Spying on you from the street
  Looking in from every beat
"My Big Brother" isn't that sweet

"My Big Brother" and I don't know why
Casting in from above the sky
"My Big Brother" the commie spy
  Listening in do or die
  Bringing his book in
  Taught within
My Big Brother, 1-800-LET-US IN
Caught with paper and a pen
All because, "My Big Brother" let himself in

The Difference My Life He Did Make

The Difference My Life He Did Make

Precious are the memories which lift my soul
Soring to heights of remembered laughs
The joys having made eternal will always last
Good experiences for the lessons I did learn
This life of a man who shared in kind
For in his living day by day
This man helped me in showing the way
A way of living as a better husband father and man
A way of living that I might stand
To stand tall for family friendship and right
That from this day-forth his trodden path reflects light
Light to shine when worries I do care
Light to glow my path when in despair
I rejoice to know the difference my life he did make

Chair of Death

On a cool afternoon for tea,
She sat in that chair,
Humming for our silence;
Her bones quivering the instrumentals
Within the ruffles of the skin.
When her tune came to an end,
She took time to turn our way.
Not because she felt obliged
That she had all the time in the world,
But because her youth had shredded
To make her nothing but one
Who hoped for time.
For the painstaking moments passed
And we locked eyes.
She fought her raging wrinkles to smile
And nod my way.

Perhaps she tried too hard
To say a decent goodbye.

One would think he keeps it
Because he has to.
We'd sit on the floor first
Before we touch that chair.
For it encases you,
Tightens its weight upon you
And hums so sweetly between the ear and soul,
The sounds of a sour, unsaid farewell.

The Passing

A faint glow dribbles 'neath his door,
and clamours of construction mutter,
bellow and insinuate, his broken voice
belies an old man struggling with a stutter.
He comes and goes in dead of night,
I mark his shuffling pace,
his wheezing terrifies and taunts me,
nervous as I am to peek,
to see this stranger's face.

The sounds persist for several weeks,
relentless, with a purpose,
still I'm reluctant to confront
this man, anxious and desirous.
Then all at once the banging stops,
the faint glow disappears,
I'm left to wonder what he built
'midst stammering and tears.

Overwhelmed with curiosity
I wait for his return,
his latchkey kills my modesty,
his secret soon I'll learn.
Elderly, his shoulders bent,
palms pressed as if to pray,
a penitent upon his knees
with not a word to say.

For in the stark and silent room
an altar is revealed,
intricate and fine beyond compare,
with flowers and still photographs
a child is honoured there.
I took his arm and knelt with him in prayer.
The line stretched down the hallway,
those offering respect,
the passing of a little girl
brought many to reflect.

she wonders

She wonders what you’re doing
and how you're living life
what new things did you learn today
and how did you sleep last night
did you feel raindrops on your face
or sunshine in your eye
of all the questions left uknown
the biggest one she has is why
why can’t you be together
why can’t she watch you grow
why can’t she guide you through this world
this she just does not know
but she promises you’ll be together
no matter how long it seems
just know your always in her heart
and always in her dreams

Poem is dedicated to a dear friend of mine
P.G Always remember sweetie true love is never lost, you will meet again someday.

Beloved Friend I Have Fallen

An angel, cradles me, in her motherly arms
I have fallen, I am venerable
I told myself, I would not do this, no more
I have failed to keep my promise, to you
I have not stayed true
Tears flowing, as I smile, just, for you!
Remembering the times, when you cupped my face, in your hands
Your blue eyes, gazing into mine
Telling me with sincerity
‘I am the sunshine, that lights up your world, each day that dawns’
My heart aches, it rains with love, having fond memories of us
Wash me clean, being human, is challenging me!
Emotional bondage, creating blocks
I need to move on, you are dead and buried
Your time here, over
My heart struggling, accepting this reality
“Forgive me”
I pray to be free!
“I Love you, my beloved, friend”

bloody red roses part 2

She lies in a pile of bloody red roses

She left a note to her folks saying

" I cant go on im sorry"

      It didnt say why

But still we cry

      We are all very sad

some of us are mad

       none of us are glad

She'll b greatly missed

To me she was like a sis

But when will the rumors stop

Noone knows the truth not even the cops

My pain is great

I wish we hadnt been late

But when we got there

        there she lay

on her already made bed of

Bloody red roses

A Rich Tribute

Mother Teresa been a historical,
and an important,
and a humble figure,
as she had dedicated her life for the poor and the needy indeed,
the best tribute one can give her is by quoting a single quote of her,
out of the many though,
the one mentioned below seems to be more precise,
in today’s world,
“Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God-the rest will be given”
Today,
in the rush of acquiring money,
many have forgotten this lovely aspect,
the aspect of love,
which is much greater than money,
and had crossed a number of boundaries,
from times immemorial,
today jealousy, selfishness, greed have taken over love,
wherein money is not that great,
than love itself,
as love is like a ‘Can’,
which can be filled from the top to the bottom,
unlike money,
which needs to be filled from the bottom instead,
love is greater than money indeed,
as we do love our Gods,
our wives,
the children,
whether they be ours,
or of others,
without distinguishing between their caste, creed, colour,
Love is indeed greater,
as we love the newborns born into this world,
our friends ,
wherein love can also help us to defeat our enemies too,
without love,
no one can progress on,
and neither the countries too,
Therefore love is greater than money indeed!!

'Quote and Author':-
“Let us more and more insist on raising funds of love, of kindness, of understanding, of peace. Money will come if we seek first the Kingdom of God-the rest will be given”- Author: 'Mother Teresa'

R I P

Time stood still,
Darkness seemed to overcome me,
When I received that call,
I made frantic calls to my relatives,
Trying to breathe out the sadness,

You had been hospitalized,
As the family gathered around,
we were busy like bees trying to seek the best treatment,
My world seemed to turn upside down,
Every day I had to visit you ,
Trying to make small talk,
Conversations in whispers,

Time stood still,
As days became nights,
In my eyes seasons seemed to come and go,
As we arranged for the surgery,
You woke up from that coma,
Only for a few seconds and minutes,

Sprayed tears, seemed forever in my eyes,
a thousand voices in my head,
I was in my own world,
As the day turned into night,
As the blue moon emerged,
You passed away,
Gone forever from us,

My tears soaked my pillow at night,
I could see your pain, but could not let you go,
Now its been years,
My mum is not yet over your lose,
Sometimes vivid dreams come to me,
Remembering those old stories about our tribe,
Outside the fire place,

When the night was young and silence filled the air,
If wishes were horses,
I could wish to see you again ,
So you could brighten my smile granny,
These memories will remain painted in my mind,
What a sweet soul you were,
It’s sad the lord called you home,
To live grandpa behind,

Today I visit you once again,
To remember the good old times,
I can still feel your presence as the wind blows my sad tears away.

Baby Girl Of Mine

I wrote this to help someone special to me:

I lost my daughter today.
Sadness threatens to overwhelm me.
Grief consumes my every thought.

Pain fills my entire body.
The words send a shock to my heart.
My legs fail me as I fall to the floor
Knowing it was to come,
Realizing it is in God’s will,
Nothing makes it easier to deal with.

My heart crumbles under the weight
I know all the pieces will never be found.
A wound created that will never heal.
A constant reminder of what is gone.

Desire to become a forever family.
Hope of taking away too much pain.
Dreams of her eyes filling with child like joy.
Plans of everyday growing up and learning
All cause to mourn, all things I won't get to again see.

I long for the comfort others might have,
Joy her in the arms of someone who truely loves her,
Peace in knowing she is being properly cared for.
The knowledge that we will be together again.

I lost my daughter today.
There are no kisses to brighten my soul.
No grave to visit and seek refuge at.
The rest of the world will never notice,
For the daughter I lost was never really mine.

She is alive somewhere else
Not by my choice but by theirs
For it is not I that gets to kiss her good night
I lost my daughter today at yet it is like the world does not care
Really she was more mine than theirs...

I lost my daughter today...
I lost my daughter today...
Don't worry baby girl we will be together ....
someday..!

Eric -RIP-

Why did you leave?
Oh companion of mine
Why did you leave?
Twas it really your time?
Did you see no point in staying
another measly day?
By my side if you were oh the
things I would say!
Judge you, I would not
Tis not in my nature
The emptiness I feel from your
passing measures to that of a
crater
A bullet took your life
One blast and it's through
What pains me to know is the
gun was held by you
All you left behind was a note
for family and friends
Inscribed were many ' I love
you's '
And your deep heartfelt
amends
No need to say sorry
For you lived a full life
I shall always remember this
through the pain, struggles,
and strife
'You don't know what you got
until what you got is no more'
Oh how this saying is true!
As the tears stream my face
and I reminisce of you
With anger in our eyes and
pain in our hearts
We lay you to rest
Hoping that solace will
overflow in our lives
We miss you Eric
This is in plain black and white
Had we the power we'd wish
you back to life
I take comfort in knowing one
day we'll meet again
Beyond the pearly gates
reunited  as friends
This is NOT goodbye
Only a brief farewell
When shall we meet again?
Only time will tell

Still with me

My dear beloved friend,
I feel you late at night,
Curled atop my feet,
And keeping my heart alight.
I see your sweet smiling face,
Everytime I close my eyes,
And feel you rub against me,
With all the love you have inside.
My loving baby girl,
I feel you here beside me,
Comforting me of all my pain,
Your close to me once more,
And I have not to weep as much,
When I feel your tail waggin against my legs.

RIP My Puppy Camille <3
I love you babygirl

The Sea Blue Eyes I

Once in a while I meet a person whose eyes tell their story
The story is like the sky reflection on the seas of glory
The eyes are all the wonder of the world
It sees the future, past, and present
The eyes give us knowledge of the world and reflection
The reflection of sadness and weakness of each creature
The wonder of each individual being has a present
To the world who has lots of false images
To arise the moment of that one glance
To follow the heart in romance
Just the reflection that gather in your eyes of blue
What a man and a woman should view
Life is such a pain without stopping to see each eyes
Its like roses you have to enjoy each passion in side
When that moment collides with mind and heart
Nothing in your soul can keep your love apart
Join in the fun look in every eyes of a person beside
With passion and romance I bet you, you would cry
The luster of all the things to come
A bounty of life long needs to be given by just the wonders of the eyes
The blue seas reflects the different depths of our feelings
And it should become revealing
Come to your senses with ravaging hormones of lust
The sea can take you and even the reflection in the eyes of the person
The beauty is not held by one it is held by everyone
Such looks with fear for no relief
Is almost a dreadful part in our human nature
Beware of what can happen when emotions are held
Held to the core of an individual
No such thing is kindness when you find yourself in the Sea Blue Eyes
Calling in your soul by just looking
With ignorance you play around with such futile emotion
Gush away the fear and do not go insane with life so dear
The grasp of the titans comes to reveal
The evil within your heart is so obscenely noticed
You want the sea and you want those eyes to look at you with wishes
The rage in the heart are waves that cannot stop
It pushes and pushes with no regret
The heart falters and there is only one thing in your mind
The idea of one soul to be with is the ocean
The rifts that is trying to break to end the wants of desire
Cannot be trusted in a human lier
The beauty of man is destruction
The beauty of women are commands
The eyes of each does not matter in the sea
Because all emotion and desire is given to those who are true
Command of a person is just one thing
The desire to destroy is another
The Sea Blue Eyes will see no bother cause it bares it all
Even the utmost desire
To be continue.

A Toast, a Canticle, a Living Requiem

Here's a toast to the ones you leave behind.

To the ones who time carries you past,
spending a while with comrades
until the rivers drag you away.

To the ones who sail their own courses through life,
a far, far cry from your own.
And yet, that cry is always heard,
in the end,
for companionship ever beckons.
The lanterns on their prows
shine a light for you, always;
whenever they're near their fellow in need.

To the ones you never fail
and who never fail you;
to the ones whose separation
marks the end of an era.

Yes;
a toast to the ones you leave behind.

The ultimate price

THE ULTIMATE PRICE

Duf, duf, duf., echoed drums and trumpet sound,
And military farewell salute highly visible too,
As the body was lowered into the ground,
The final destination for the son in dignified blue!

In the darkness of the quiet, cold and rainy night,
Paramedics and nurses battled in vain to fight,
Working very hard to bring him to life,
Before his weeping children and wife.

On that fateful day, shots rang out,
As the fugitive turned about,
Hitting him in close range on his face,
From the lurking danger, he met face to face!

With his unconquerable drive to win the fight,
Against crime an oath, he did not take light,
As a selfless individual, he made the highest sacrifice
To serve but dearly, he paid the ultimate price!

He should be remembered for always triumphing at the end,
Though many trials and tribulations leading his component,
While exercising leadership, he was more gentle and more diligent,
And was prepared to take orders from superiors until his untimely end!

Behind the Badge

To those behind the badge, who have paid the ultimate price
To serve and to protect—a tremendous sacrifice
To defend and shield the blameless you presented us your all
The struggle against corruption, you answered every call

To those behind the badge, who committed to its cause
The danger and the perils never gave you the slightest pause
For the risks didn’t measure against the peace left in the wake
Of a battle against wrongdoings, your beliefs didn’t shake

To those behind the badge, for your loyalty we are grateful
Dedication to the mission—more than a job—ever faithful
Whether uniformed or not your ethics remained the same
Ever watchful for corruption, your principles sustained

To those behind the badge with high regard we shall reflect
On your allegiance as peace officer, you have all our respect
Your attitudes, your way of life, your values and your creed
Sustain us to protect and defend and accomplish every deed

To those behind the badge, a noble legacy you leave us
Courage, strength, and bravery a necessity to those who need us
Your valor and heroism we never shall forget
The cost of the tour of duty, you paid the final debt

To those behind the badge, we stand in remembrance this night
A badge worn with privilege of an honorable fight
With respect and admiration your devotion we remember
In our hearts your memory will be a constant burning ember

Brandon

Today I learned, once more, the lesson of loss.
Today I learned of a brother gone.
Tonight I pay my respects, in what words I can muster;
forever he is one of us.

I didn’t know him for all too long,
and never got all that close,
when it really comes down to it;
yet he was family to me.

He was a religious man, and one
that always had a huge grin on his face.
Without fail, he tried to make the rest of us
get along when arguments arose among friends.

He was the first one at my side
when my mother's mother passed away.

He volunteered as a firefighter, before all of this –
he had the strength to offer himself up
both to fight fire when he could,
and get in firefights if he had to.

I remember one day, late last year,
when he came to us and he wished
to lead us in saluting the half-masted flag
on the eleventh of September.

These were his words, on that day:

“In honor and remembrance of all the victims of the 9/11 attacks.
Class BCE 31-13 stood in formation saluting the American flag
in remembrance of everyone who … was associated
with what happened 12 years ago.
May we never forget what went on today
and that we will keep our country safe.
Honoring those who’ve passed before us.
We will stand our ground,
fight for our country
and fight to sustain our freedom.
For our friends, family, and strangers.
Oorah and Semper Fidelis to all.”

To follow something like that, all I can say is this:
almost nobody sees themselves as heroes,
and we never think we’ll get to meet
those who truly are.

We rarely see them as heroes either,
while we still could say our thanks;
it isn’t until they’re beyond our reach
that we realize exactly who has been taken away.

I count myself lucky to have known him.
For what they're going through,
I want to send my best to his first family;
and I'm glad I could be a part of his second.

I don't have his faith, and could not say for sure
if he'll ever read these words;
but I hope he knows exactly how much
a hero will be missed.

Bleeding Love

Bleeding Love
Curled in a ball
Not knowing what to do!
Knees against my chest
Cradling oneself

‘Soothing my soul’

Memories of you
Flooding my brain
Your words
Left as lingering whispers
Your smile
Imprinted, upon my mind's eye
High light of my day!
Electrifying my nervous system
Jump starting my heart
Punishing me
For loving you
‘Bleeding love’

Arlington

An army in green
fields,
ever vigilant, ever
silent, ever still.
Their honor ever
their shields,
falter, they never
will.

They've fought their
fight,
served how and when
they were needed.
They've earned their
reprieve from the
harsh, glaring
light,
but their post,
after all this time,
they still haven't
ceded.

Stones, shaped to
stand and dressed in
white,
mark where they lie,
mute through the
years.
Not voiceless,
though, for there
are those who
remember their
fight;
when called on by
one such in need,
their steadfastness
appears.

Carrying on their
legacy, are those
who continue to add
to their venerated
ranks.
Some call them
soldiers, some fools
and some heroes;
some see the endless
marble formation and
give thanks.

Down the somber rows
reflective feet
tread,
seeking friends,
family, or simply to
respect those who
gave all.
Regardless of race,
gender, creed,
religion, or
homestead,
ever onward, kin
they are; ever
together they stand
tall.

Never forget why
they're in those
green fields; the
battlefields they
crossed,
the kin they left
behind, to grieve
and remember.
Regret young and old
gone too soon,
innocence and family
forever lost,
but don't begrudge
their sacrifice -
with our lives burns
their eternal ember.

Almost Lovers

Almost Lovers
Now, loveless romantics
Loveless
With only sadness in our eyes
A fresh new hole
In our hearts
Without each other
Being by each other’s side

I am trying not to think about you
Though images of you
Still haunt me
Flooding, my mind
I hear the sound of your voice
Echo through the air
I see you ‘smile’
I can smell you, everywhere!

And when I watch the stars
Light up the sky at night
When I stroll the streets
Without you by my side
I watch lovers enjoy each other’s company
Reminiscing about ‘you’

Almost lover
I still feel the beating of our two hearts
Becoming One
Even though you are gone
Goodbye, almost lover
Thank you for making my heart warm!

Speak Soft

Speak Soft

Speak soft- a generational shift
The experienced age versus foolish youth
A war waged between generations
For one side has lived through life
Endured hardships and mistakes
But the other simply ignores wisdom

Speak soft- here today, gone tomorrow
The dove was flying so high yesterday
But now roosts with a broken wing

Speak soft- words of hate are like knives
Drenched with acid and poison
And once the knife cuts
There is no way to repair the damage

Speak soft- A demonic image hides an Angel
It's always a golden heart that endures the worst
But the worst brings out the best

Speak soft- the world continues to turn unaware that
Tragedy strikes deep within your heart

Speak soft- even concrete can hide a diamond
If one puts forth the effort necessary to mine
Indifferent one day; in tears the next day

Speak soft- care for those who care for you

finish line

Finish line

(Boston marathon bombing)

The race has begun, runners on their way

People from around the world waited for this day.

They prepared for years to finally have a chance

Some crossed the finish line and did their celebration dance.

There were others who also waited for this day,

They to prepared but not in the same way.

They made their bombs and strategically placed

And before others could finish they finished the race.

Two bombs went off one right after the other

Killing and wounding fathers, mothers, sisters, and brothers.

The first pictures shows a 76-year-old man fall

But the killing of the eight-year-old boy is the saddest of all.

We pray for the families of the wounded and killed

They have holes in their hearts that can never be filled.

The bombers are cowards but we will shine,

Because we will all once again cross that finish line.

His Gift of Love

I have a very special gift.
One you may long to see.
From the Christ who died so long ago
for the souls of you and me.

He didn’t have to do it.
No wonder that we cried,
To know ‘twas for our sins
Dear Jesus that day died.

As he dragged His cross up to that hill,
knowing all the while
the price he’d pay was for our bill
He somehow trudged that mile.

A crown of thorns upon His head;
nails driven in His hands and feet.
All the wounds oh, how they bled.
What torture He should meet.

Hanging there upon that tree
while we looked on in shame.
Dying there to set us free
He never placed the blame.

Knowing it was He alone
who could save us from our fates,
He looked upward to the throne
far beyond Heaven’s pearly gates.

For our mercy He was pleading.
The pain was oh so grand.
For us He hung their bleeding.
Reaching for His Father’s hand.

The Heaven’s began to thunder
as the sky went black.
There we watched in wonder
as the Father turned His back.

Upon His Son he could not look
as our sins to Him were cast.
Each was stricken from the Book
our debts were paid at last.

Had not He come upon that day
and died to set us free;
what a price we would pay
for all eternity.

The gift that He has given,
meant for each of us to share,
is a home up in Heaven.
He’s waiting for you there

All your sins now pardoned.
Making the path to Him so clear.
Please let not your hearts be hardened,
by the evils oh so near

The time has come to stake your claim.
No longer should you wait.
For you’d have only you to blame
if turned from Heaven’s Gate

Dear, Mother

You were the one that I called to when I was feeling blue or just when I needed you
You were the one to raise me who showed me how to be a lady
You tried to show me who was flaw and who would stay
But when I needed you the most, your gone and are no longer my host
I lost my best friend I also called my mother
Please god watch over me and my little brother
Now I just take a breath and look at the clouds because I know shes always looking down
Watching you staying true and doing you
But I cant help it every now and then I get blue
But you would want me to be happy, so this life I live is all for you

War

the pictures like torture
an explosion in my veins
a troubled poison running rounds again and again
and I could hear them breathe

the pictures, black and white
they look at me.
there is no colour in the negatives
there is light, and yet I cannot see.

light touching a thing so dark
it really shines
a meaning, it makes me cold
like atoms in the atmoshphere
it really glows.
