My Little Sister

My little sister so wild and free
Always walking ahead of me
Never afraid to take any test
Papa’s pride, his little princess
You loved a brave as wild as you
And to this day you still do
But there was another who loved you so
And he stepped aside and let you go
You never looked back to see
Another loved him it was me
And now after all this time
The wolf has his doe
And the hawk is mine

Jungle Love

Your sweet nectar
wraps around my senses
like jungle vines
steady drums beating
Your heart near mine

Your strong hands
hold me suspended
by my waist
Just enough pain and strength
against my supple skin
For my taste

The musk of your
sculpted body and the forest
has me going wild
But yet, the tender way you
protect me, reminds me of
Being a child

A safe familiarity
with a strain of animalistic
Your invisible hold over me
leaves me arrow poisoned
Unable to function

My long dark hair wraps you
with smells of coconut and ocean Sun
your locks full of mud and enemies
together, my warrior
We make One

Two Old Friends

Dusty roads and fresh grass
summertime rodeos approaching fast
riding with a friend down on sandbars

A piece of hay hanging out of his mouth
though some trapped water, out the other side
I had forgotten this wonderful life

I still see some twenty year old boy helping me up
now a sixty year old man rides in front
pointing all the changes in the last five years

I could not believe what time I lost
4 am to a cowboy is not early enough
my pants soaking wet my boots fixed

We rode on down to his dads favorite spot
to meet God when the sun comes up
we turned to face it and did not say a word

God's spirit was the only thing we heard
as earth to air, and water to fire, met in the sky
right there two old friends prayed to God

Can You Hear Me

Can you hear me calling you
Don't you feel how much I need you
  Across the mountains and streams
  I whisper your name
I call out to you in my dreams
  And there you came
You'd take me hand so tenderly
And promise never to leave me
You'd speak to me such words of love
And swear your love to me to the spirits above

Little Doe's Farewell

Gone are the days when we were young
Gone is the time when we were one
Through centuries and space I’ve waited for you
And kept my heart true to only you
I may not look the same I you know
But look into my eyes, yes it’s Little Doe
I prayed you’d remember and somehow see
But alas I see you no longer know
The maiden from so long ago
My heart is sad for I know it must be
That once again together we will not be
My heart and soul will go on you see
In my heart you will always be
For someday I will belong again indeed
To Running Wolf, brave warrior of the Cherokee

A Love That Can Never Be

You stand before me proud and free
At first I thought you were a fantasy.
You're smile, your touch so real to me
I need to know what you want of me.
	I try to understand
Why you have come to this strange new land
So out of place in this land today
Yet I want you so to stay
I feel you are a part of me
I feel I need you here and you need me
I hope and pray I can find a way
To make you stay here in present day
My brave warrior proud and free
Take my hand and stay with me
Together a whole new world we will see
Let me give my heart and soul to thee
But alas you are just a fantasy
And a love that can never be

The Stream of Tears

Prisms breaking on the water
rainbows falling through the pines
early morning on the river
skimming light as feathers
in the white canoe....

  In the bow
you breathe the daybreak
Raven hair flys out behind you
here where only love can find you
in the white canoe

Fast the feathers,flowers,flowing
on beside us
through the glowing
lead us on to where we're going
in the white canoe

past the places of the otters
fingers trailing in the waters
faces of our sons and daughters
in the white canoe

as my dream of love grows dimmer
you turn to me and I remember
what you said in dark December
in the white canoe

"I must ever travel on
through these mountains
all alone
until the time that you come home
in the white canoe".

"See me now as I'm before you,
though I leave you,
I adore you,
I'll be always waiting for you,
in the white canoe"

Somewhere on this Stream of Tears
you are waiting through
the years
but in these dreams
you're always here,
in the white canoe.

hand in hand

For you and I to overcome all this,
A neverending uncontolable miserable abiss.
Endless, darkened,no light yet to be seen
We will be victorious in our endeavours,
and get all we dream.

Deserve, we do and suffer as well
Not to be outwitted,
our friendship won't fail
Forever we will be priceless
as our friendship is endless

And in short time all the anguish
will never be the same
Together through life we will remain

a Spirit in Time

   The drums ,
the drums
   You hear the drums
you more than feel their beat.
they taunt you with the past somehow
you know it in your feet.

you see yourself around the fire
dancing 'neath the moon
who you were and who you are
and who you will be soon.

The smoke, the mist the burning flame
how does the rhythm know your name?
you must go back from whence you came
back to that dark lagoon .

Back to the flicker in the light
the instant that must be set right
she's waiting there for you tonight
beside the dark lagoon.

to resurrect a love gone by
the year too soon for you to fly ,
the spirits gave you one more try
to find the Lost Lagoon.

You travel time to find the place
where you can see your lover's face
your memory has found the trace,
back to the Lost Lagoon

Hummingbird - Joy

Hummingbird.. Hummingbird with light brimming Sing a song to awaken flowers that are hiding On the gentle breezes I see you riding Peace to all you bring As if by magic you hover in time The divine quiet of your wings drumming You remind us to be still but never rigid Sending us love to open our hearts Softly you plant a seed in our doubts When the seed begins to bud One by one our doubts fall away All pain dimming Resolving lifes contradictions Imbuing our world with every colour of the rainbow Filling our souls with joy Soothing heart and mind Never wanting to be caged To always fly free Teaching us to live in harmony ~*~
=========================================== Inspired by Debbie Guzzi's newest blogs.. I like Hummingbird because of their magical qualities, Hummingbird feathers have long been used for the making of love charms. It is said that Hummingbird conjures love as no other medicine does, and that Hummingbird feathers open the heart. Without an open and loving heart, you can never taste the nectar and pure bliss of life. To Hummingbird, life is a wonderland of delight! If Hummingbird is your personal medicine, you love life and its joys. Your presence brings joy to others. You join people together in relationships which bring out the best in them. You know instinctively where beauty abides and, near or far, you journey to your ideal. You move comfortably within a beautiful environment and help others to taste the succulent nectar of life. If Hummingbird has flown into your life today, get ready to laugh and enjoy the Creator's many gifts. Drop your judgmental attitudes and relax. Hummingbird will no doubt give you a flash of the spirit, darting here, there, and everywhere. Get ready for a strange new burst of energy which may send your senses reeling. Hummingbird hears celestial music and is in harmony with it. Hummingbird may invite you to an art museum or a concert. Follow Hummingbird and you will soon be filled with joy and experience a renewal of the magic of living!

I know I can Be a Bad Man

Yeah I know I can be a bad man
But I just want people to understand
I do what I must, I do only what one can

I think about life, I think about my everyday strifes
I know I love you girl you the mama of my children
You already like my wife
I know I have cheated from time to time
but you the only one who I sleep with at the end of another long night

Yeah I know I can be a bad man
But I just want people to understand
I do what I must, I do only what one can

I know I like to drink yet it feels like I love that alcohol
This liqour and beer is my number one downfall
If it werent so then the crazy *****in my life now I would have never saw
I would have never ended up sitting in prison for breaking the law

Yeah I know I can be a bad man
But I just want people to understand
I do what I must, I do only what one can

It's alright now though because Im back in school
I know I struggle at times but Im reframing from being another lost fool
I know it bull-*****even though many youngsters think that *****is cool
But they don't know if they been where I been and still want to do what I do

This Blue Moon

This Blue Moon..
This moon is hypnotizing , this moon knows all Truth and lies

it is a rare moon and filled with questions asked
luminous clouds weaving through , knowing all through existence

showing me there is yet true love in the mist

who else has been captured by the Magic that surrounds this Blue Moon tonight ~
pure light and magic that pulls on your soul , instinctively, when called you will go
with all senses enhanced, romancing you
 all that you know

it controls the waters at Sea, as though it instructs all sea life
speaking to the dolphins' and lighting the oceans glow

telling the night owl too take flight and hunt ~
showing a white Owl for the first time seen

this moon is speaking , listening to all prayers
there is more around us, more then the finest of wise Men know

Look at this moon tonight
Tell me now what the truth is
This Blue Moon knows.

A dream comes floating - - -

^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ Spirit, a man in a crisp white shirt, head shaved but for one braid with feathers, his blue leggings enthrall me, his intricate beaded moccasins are beautiful, his leather pouch and his glass jewelry lovely, his is very dignified. I could love him. We are at the junction of the Little River and the Ottawa River, journeying into the Canadian wilderness by canoe, the paddles dipping slowly into the water, paddles heavily incised with vines and flowers. I dip my long black hair into the blue. Falcon, a man with raven hair falling down his back paddles, his feathers are fluttering in the wind, he has dangling earrings, a red cap edged with gold threads, his beads as beautiful as he is, and he is telling me stories of "The People" and smiling at me. I could love him. O, how can this Ojibwa girl choose, I love them both, I truly do, but luckily this is but a dream so I can have both. ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ ^^ Narrative December 10, 2012

The Sound of the Prairies

wheat at its finest.
long before the cut of blade
and grinding of teeth –

it sings through clear wind –
rolling waves, soft in their hush
raising old ones souls,

ingraining lifetimes
     upon the wanderer’s skin –
raising hairs on necks –

recognizing sound
as it is meant to be heard –
wheat is heeded wind.

always, wheat whispers
     hush…(the heart of prairie grass)
through the mouth of wind.

Deep Waters

Knowing defeat I now softly sleep my arms are lighter and feet do not tread deep waters My brain rest from spirits for the time being I do not fight that loss of control and shut my eyes and no man nor beast removes me from who I am I close the gates to my home away from all this life I have reclaimed to be solely mine walking a closer walk with God and his Son I mend my circles and close off my heart from the world peace showers down upon my head I will remember the dead the sacrifices they made for me to live and softly cry all alone

The Man Who Loved Gimewanookwe

He searches her face, scarcely remembering a time
He did not know her; seeing now her dark eyes
Surrounded by age and closed against the pain.

He searches her face, remembering the first time he saw her
Stepping lightly across the river carrying the basket filled with berries.

He searches her face, remembering for a moment the sparkling defiance
Brought about by the choice she made for love.

He searches her face, scarcely daring to hope her eyes will clear
And she will know him again, know him as once she did when their love was new.

He searches her face, willing her to come back,
To lose the demons that return again and again to steal her power
And shut her away from him.

He searches her face, not wanting to look away,
He softly speaks her name, Gimewanookwe, remembering the first time
He whispered her name in love.

He searches her face, smoothing back the graying hair, stroking the lines of pain,
Feeling the faint, weak pulse of her courageous heart.

He searches her face, he speaks her name again, Gimewanookwe, she whom I love,
Gimewanookwe, Rain Woman.

He searches her face, willing her to open her eyes, willing her to remember
And rise up from this bed, rise up and be healed of this crippling fever.

He searches her face, praying for a sign, praying she will return to him
As she was before the white man’s illness.

He searches her face, wondering where she will go when she passes from him,
For he knows she is nearly gone; he takes her gently in his arms.

He searches her face and hears the first drops of rain falling softly upon the quiet land;
He knows what he must do.

He searches her face as he gently lifts her from the bed; she weighs no more than a child.
He wraps the blanket tightly around his only love and carries her out into the night rain.

He searches her face as he lays her down on the grass beside the garden.
Rain falls softly on her face; the quiet touch of God

He watches her face; her eyes widen and brighten.
Once again he searches for life, then softly whispers her name, Gimewanookwe,
Before he gently closes her eyes.

{In Honor of Constance, the Rambling Poet,
in gratitude for inspiring this poem with her contest ‘Rain’.}

Be Still

And the westerly wind,
Will blow a sea of waving grass
And the sea's fine mist
Will breathe drops like dew
And the sinking suns
Will cloak the sky's horizon
And the moons of Autumn
Will beckon the golden fertililty of the harvest
And the violet tinged edge of night
Will cry for the white bursting of the stars
And the carved thrust of the mountain range
Will challenge the forever yielding blue
And the hovering tunes of the dawn's awakening
Will mimic the lullaby of my dreams

Silver Pony Rides

Dry up those eyes my little red rooster,
remember to strut your stuff.
See that silver pony in the clouds
well God put him there for us.
That pony is not like the ones down here,
he was made individually, for us too.

So smile, when they say hateful things,
then say, that's the way God wanted me to be
One day things will be clear,
it will be hard for you,
but you climb to the sky.
Jump on that silver pony, let’s show them how to ride.

Take your time, you have the rest of your life,
my little red rooster.
Someone will see you,
and float on those clouds
riding a silver pony just they and you,
he will be a special guy.
No, it's not fair, you don't fit in anywhere.
Take pride in others, and love will apply.

As hard as it is for you
look to your family,
we are part of eagles flying high.
Be the spunky little girl you don’t think they like,
and show them your temperance
in little cowgirl Cherokee pride. Keep your eyes on the clouds waiting for a sign
great things are worth the wait,
and come in dear time
Things are never what they seem to be,
what you think is a diamond may be only the rough.
As with finding your diamond is made of dust.
Look for a silver lining.
Love the earth and follow the clouds,
know what to keep and what to throw out.

To Wither and Die Not

Peace surrounds me on this day in May as I let destiny have it's own way I smile down on whom I am made grandly by all my yesterdays I will live again and all my hopes and dreams shall not shatter I am destiny's lost prodigal child, May has been a source of pain for me Seeming to harm me with it's innocent days hidden in coy smiles, yes it lied many times but not today, the day after yesterday beginning all my tomorrows We can not always live in the growing fields of flowers picking them and hanging them up to dry somehow in making something beautiful we forgot them and they did not dry, yet died We can not always hold onto our flowers some do not fare well to the process of living dry so today is not tomorrow nor yesterday but it will always be lost amongst some field of flowers No garden to train, yet sheer joy in what is natural for miles as far as the eye can see it is spring and I pat my body down, I lived through the night yes, I am alive, and did not die, as they live their destiny Yet, my flowers have no scent, and not many want them , but what glory can be found in the ordinary flower? the garden of no surprise with many needs to thrive, none, for there is nothing grander than a flower growing in fields wild Next year, it will spread it's seeds in the wind and prosper so much grander it will be each year there after, yes, growing wilder and my prayer is no one will cut them down or poison them ever-after yet someone will love the flowers growing wild tomorrow and the day after May they become a heart's desire, and glory will forever remain in those alive, and wild but never dried, or tamed, for how can we say nice things about something, we set aside to wither and die, in shame and pain, that should always be allowed to grow wilder, to wither and die not tomorrow or the day after
will edit when I get back home. SORRY GUYS!

Two Lonesome Doves

Just two lonesome doves lost in a field full of grain
if one flies one way the other will be lost in the wind
oh, but how those doves wanted to be free but were so scared
holding onto each other until the bitter end

Just a little longer they thought, and we will be okay
no one cared what happened to them in those days
when one cried out the other one fell to the ground
it seemed no one could see what their needs truly were

So they thought it best to relocate them to a better place
have you ever seen doves cry as they hold onto a strange life
their hearts still beat the same, but now they knew what lonesome meant
and night after night they untucked their weary heads looking to the stars

Two lonesome doves dreamed of how things should be
softly they cooed the others name alone in the dark
oh, but the price of the cost to be free was ever-so great
don't ever think one doesn't share the pain the other feels

That field full of grain felt like nothing without the one that they loved
lonesome dove coos go out each night praying the other will fly to them
lost in the wind they have to be, doves have a forever kind of love
until that day, we all watch the tragedy when two doves cry

Grandmother Moon

Grandmother Moon cherishes me,
kisses my forehead with her light.
She reigns supreme over her kingdom,
smiling down upon this humble spirit.

I whisper to her of my dreams, hopes
prevailing in spite of the odds.
A tear forms in the corner of my eye
as I challenge her to answer my prayers.

I extend my hand, longing to touch her,
to soak up her ancient wisdom and beauty.
I can feel her gentle smile, she embraces me,
bringing me comfort, her radiance guiding.

She has been witness to the cruelties
of man, more than I could ever imagine.
Broken dreams scattered into the night
her children gather around her, wink at me.

Nissa, Nissa, I cry out to her. Is all lost?
Is there no more hope for my people?
A voice softly answers in my mind,
there is always a glimmer of hope.

Grandmother Moon watches over me,
ruling the tides of my heart, my spirit.
She is listening to me, tasting my tears,
caressing the delicate tendrils of my soul.

the red wolf's speech revisited

If i could take your hand in mine
and get lost in your eyes
incompatible are we
yet perfect and it buys

me the time to drink in deep
assess my standing point of view
a wolf in the night, a thief in the dark
and always here for you

i gave you all i had
and you took it willingly
a loving kiss upon my lips
in love and so is she

my vampire queen in a house of wolves
dominion over all
and yet i am the one she loves
and cherish standing tall

opposites attract
but then they always fade away
amythist rose, where did you go?
on my knees i pray.

Feather of the Heart

I take a feather from my heart and I want you to take it with you
Then I will know forever more that you will always carry my love, deep inside your heart
May this feather of my heart always illuminate and help you to rise
I pray that on the wings of our love our hearts will be guided, so that our spirits are one
When we are apart, I will try to be strong
When I wish to see your face, I close my eyes, and you appear
I hear the words you speak and placed inside my heart; That my heart will be the greatest feather you could ever earn.
My heart is in gentle touch of your hands, like a feather; as you speak, you call me your loving heart
I am anxious for us to be together once again, my great love
I will comfort your heart by placing my hand over it
For it is within your heart that I will always call home
I take a feather from my heart and I want you to take it with you
By taking this feather from my heart, our spirits will never be apart, for I will always be with you
For all eternity.

Color of a Man's Character

The Color of a Man’s Character
We all bleed
And cleave to
Those we leave

We all smile when we are greeted
And cry when we are mistreated

Why do we choose to abuse others
For the color of their skin?

Why do we think that only
Our own color should win?

We’re all the same underneath
We all deserve peace
When we lay down to sleep

Love one another while you can
Show your son how to be gracious
The color of a man’s character
Is how he treats his fellow Man.

The Petty Posh-WahZee - Liberation and Ostentation

The Petty Posh-Wahzee - Liberation & Ostentation

The Not-So Distant Past:

The fallen fighters for freedom, are unable to turn in their graves,
their battered, fragmented bones, mixed with a handful of torn rags,
are all that remain, a mute reminder of their selfless valiant sacrifice.

They endured brutal Apartheid harassment, detentions without trial,
torture in the cells, and mental anguish when loved ones disappeared,
they left their homeland, to continue the struggle against racial bigotry,
while countless others fought the scourge of white-minority rule at home.

Nelson Mandela and many, many others, spent their lives imprisoned,
on islands of stone, and on islands of the cruellest torture, yet they stood,
never bowing, never scraping, they stood, firm for ideals for which they were prepared to die,

and many, many comrades did die, at the hands of the callous oppressor,
and many, many comrades perished in distant lands, torn from their homes,
while the struggle continued, for decades, soaked in blood, in tears, in pain.

The Present:

19 years have passed, since freedom was secured at the highest of prices,
delivering unto us, this present, a gift of emancipation from servitude,

a freedom to walk this land, head held high, no longer second-class citizens,
in the land of our ancestors, whose voices we hear and need to heed today.

I do not care much for fashion, Lewis-Fit-On and Sleeves unSt.-Moron,
yet the ostentation that I witness baffles even my unsophisticated palate,

our ancestors' plaintive whispers are being dismissed, left unheeded, as
we browse the aisles for more and more, always for more and yet more.

Asphyxiated by the excess of the Petty Posh-Wahzee, we find ourselves,
perched precariously on the edge, of a dissolution of all that is humane,

babies go hungry, wives are battered, our elders left in hospitals for hours,
I cringe as I scribble these words, perhaps too sanctimonious and preachy,

yet I know, deep in the marrow of my brittle bones, I know, I know, I know,
this tree of freedom planted by the nameless daughters and sons of Africa,

needs to be shielded, nurtured, protected from our very own baser impulses,
so that the precious tree of freedom, may bear the fruit that may feed us all,

for if not, then we are doomed, to tip over, and into the yawning abyss, we shall fall.

In My Community

Our Ancestors fought to the death,
Just so we can live a brighter day,
So before you light up that blunt of meth,
Think about what you’re giving away,
It was a glad day in history when Obama rose to victory,
The first black president was all we knew,
Dark skin is in!
Haven’t you heard?
That even in our community,
You can get burned,
It’s a sad day when people would rather stay home and “Crank That Amber Cole”,
Than get up and run to a poll,
In our community,
Rockin’ Luis V is better than having a college degree,
And teen pregnancy is not only a trend,
But the single motherhood that follows should end,
Young girls learn of a wonderful prince to take them away,
Nothing should change thought their mothers prince didn’t stay,
And as the tears fade away,
She grows stronger every day,
In our community,
Fighting is no longer a word,
You argue with someone and shots are heard,
Girls showing places the sun don’t show,
So how do they expect the community to grow?
Where love is a figment of imagination,
Making a young child question her creation,
Young mothers would rather buy the iPhone 5,
Then satisfy her baby’s cries,
While her new man’s eye,
Wander up another girl’s thighs,
In our community,
Where #team dark skin vs #team light skin,
Makes others not love the skin they’re in,
Love, lust, hate, and trust,
Giving a rose on Valentine’s Day is no longer a must,
Where bad is good and good is bad,
Who would think to see their grandmother sad?
Her hurt and pain,
Shows how our community has lost everything her parents fought to gain.

Always the same

I remember the smiles
From a thousand miles,
The crowd that gathered,
The smiling baby to be fathered,
The blessings made,
That their hopes do not fade,
I heard the general chorus,
The strength, the happiness, the force.
But a different group,
Came in a huge troop,
All, new faces of a different birth,
To witness a fallen strength.

The Man Who Loved Rain Woman

She loved him when she was a young girl, stepping softly on the rocks,
Holding her basket close, as rain fell on her dampened hair;
Seeing him across the river, she raised her eyes to his, and smiled;
Looking upon The Man Who Loved Gimiwanookwe.

Her love grew stronger when they first knew each other,
Silently, among the towering pines, hidden from their families,
She reached her hand to his, loving him as rain and thunder raged;
Giving herself to The Man Who Loved Gimiwanookwe.

Her love grew stronger when they defied their fathers and rode away,
Running the white horse full out against the wind, as rain pounded the world;
Laughing as she laid her face against his back, seeking shelter,
Resting upon The Man Who Loved Gimiwanookwe.

Her love grew stronger when she felt the consequences,
Of losing all she knew, all she was born to be,
A woman who chose to live hard and uncertain;
Keeping with The Man Who Loved Gimiwanookwe.

Her love grew stronger when they birthed their child,
He easing the child from her heaving body,
She looking silently to the heavens as rain melted her tears;
Trusting in The Man Who Loved Gimiwanookwe.

Her love grew stronger when their children grew away,
And he became restless, longing for his lands, his heritage;
Leaving her on a day of bitter darkness, rain fell on his bowed head;
Looking away from him, pulling inward, her sorrow met the rain;
Grieving for The Man Who Loved Gimiwanookwe.

On a day when rain softly touched the world,
He returned to her, with fear in his eyes --
She had never seen him afraid;
He told her he had dreamed of the white horse,
Running full out against the wind,
Ridden by The Man Who Loved Gimiwanookwe.

Her tears fell upon his face
And became the rain,
As she held him close,
And the day faded from his eyes.

The white horse thundered towards the heavens,
Running full out against the wind as she leaned against his neck.
Her tears pounded the world as she rode against the wind,
Urging her spirit horse to mount faster towards the sky.

She is Rain Woman, daughter of the spirit god,
Riding upon the white horse, thundering across the skies,
Her tears of pain and sorrow fall upon the earth;
Mourning The Man Who Loved Gimiwanookwe.

I Shall Wait For You My Beloved

I shall wait for you to come my beloved
For you are my white star of twilight
The moon in the sky’s far end

I shall rise up with thee
Lie down with thee
For in my dreams thou art always with me

Oh Great Spirit
When our time has come
Join us together as one in the wilderness of your sacred home
When you look upon us give us your peace and refreshing sleep

For you and I my beloved, are two halves joined together
Each others distant shore
The left and right wings of the bird
Two halves of a seashell

We are apart, yet connected by a greater love
I shall wait for you my love

The sun and moon bless the union of our spirits
Designed by our Creator for life’s endless journey
Joined like a tree to earth, a cloud in the sky
You are a part of me, as I am of you
Bonded by the Great White Spirit

You are my love, my heart’s best friend
Our love will never cease, never end
I know it is thou who moves within my heart
Now and forever my beloved - I shall wait for you to come

she said "what have you to offer me?"
I answered with sincerity.
"my queen, i am humble. i have not much to offer, as i have no money or kin to speak of.
but heed my words, queen, as i come for reasons even god would not understand.
i bring to you, my queen, only what you see.
i offer to you my heart. let the blood it flows sustain you.
i offer you my soul, and may its vitality teach you more than any teacher.
i give you my body, and may its warmth keep you through the night,
so that you may never be alone, my queen, so long as i live.

JAMESTOWN 1607=They ate their horses, dogs, cats and rats

Four hundred years ago high-born Brits sailed to America
Seeking fast fortunes, adventure and fame.
Many would never endure their first year here
Cultivating, foraging, and hunting game.

Arriving in Virginia they came ill-prepared
In search of gold and a route to the South Seas
What they found were hostile Indians,
Insects, starvation, and disease.

“Virginia is Earth’s only Paradise!”
The laureate of England would proclaim!”
However by August of 1607,
Every day there was anguish, and pain.

They ate their horses, dogs, cats and rats
One man ate his wife and hid her bones in the ground.
Despite their hardships, half managed to survive
Becoming America’s first permanent, English town .

'Tis wonderful, I say,
to be a Soup-er, so if I may,

I humbly request you to lay down your pen dipped in fine ink,
and visit my blog which can be found at the following link:

Now if this blatant self-promoting of mine seems rude,
I ask for your generous forgiveness, dear fellow Soup-er,

And wish you a day, that is peaceful, kind, and just plain super!

So cheers from the scribbler for now,
and as I take leave, my fellow Soup-ers,
I, in courtesy, to you all, do bow!

Lovers Dance

Mother earth comes alive
To the pleasing sound
As the sacred drum
Starts to pound
The drum beat flows
Through the meadow grasses
The wind filled with our elder’s songs
As it gently passes
The trees sway in motion
As couples dance about
In reverence to our creator
In his presence there’s no doubt
Gentle footfalls placed
In rhythmic grace
As I dance around the circle
With a smile on my face
Joyous laughter fills the air
But happiest of all, must be mine
Because I’m dancing with my love
To our favorite 49

Great Spirit here come I in humble prayer
child of your Bedonkohe blood and line.
I raise my hands to recognize you there
and plea you recognize this heart of mine.

I know you welcome all into your light
And let my way, as through this death I go,
Be swift and sure, if bad or good or right
As certain as blood of Geronimo.

Look! Is my line not tied to what's his past?
And does this not bring us our only choice
To bide amongst the tribe from out our past?
To gather in your light, and raise one voice

Of this, our song, our voices unified
And handed down through time, where we have cried.

Another very special Sonnet that just wrote itself through me...where do they come from? And how?

My Brave Warrior

You ask nothing in return
Yet I feel a question in your heart does burn
 Are you from my past
Are we together again at last
This is something I do not know
And the spirits fail to let me know
But you my warrior have honored me
 And my people the Cherokee
We share a space and time
But that's all it can be
For with my heart song is where I must be
But my brave warrior know this to be true
You will always have a place in my heart
For I have a great fondness for you

when i close my eyes

When i close my eyes i see peace,in my mind, not war.
when i close my eyes i see the hope and joy that could have been.
when i close my eyes.i see love and unity between people of different raceses.
when i close my eyes.i see myself flying above the mountains looking down,
through the eyes of an Eagle. and as i am flying i can see the sea and iam still
looking through the eyes of an Eagle.when i close my eyes.i see the stars above
when i close my eyes i see children happy Not sad.or scared.
i see them playing together not fighting one another.i see no war.
why cant we all close our eyes and see peace and love and hope and joy?not hate.

I Tell You Now

If there be a day,
When I do not call your name.
Know that I care,
My feelings are the same.
If there be a time,
That I do not sing.
Know that I appreciate,
All the joys you bring.
If there is a moment,
When I glance away.
Know that it is only,
because I wish you to stay.
If my pride keeps me,
From telling you so.
I tell you now,
So you will always know.

Black Love

                 Black LOVE

             My head rested
on the pillow of her smooth skin.
She opened the curtains of her being,
My hands slip into indulgence while
they explored her expansive dark skin.
With half words she whispered moans,
 followed by screams of passion.
With her shadow I bounded, as she
swarmed waters of our endless longing passed.

chance i flew

Like vibrant colors of tradition and customs,
you've got the look to match.
Just one look lost my footing and I've fallen,
dropped my heart, never been good at catch.

Oh dusty winds made up of indian feathers,
the music of dances that predict weather.

Your touch is tragic,
nothing short of magic.

You know these hands
the way indians know the land.

You make me want to leave this house
own nothing but you, the trees and the ground.

You make me want to sleep under the sky
with nothing on, wearing nothing but the night...
With you I want to live without everything I ever knew,
able to say when I had the chance I flew...

Oh you make me wanna be crazy
and yet stable as I can be
and free
like indians,
like you
and say when I had the chance... I flew.

                                      little moccasin and blue moon
for their love was so brand new

                                      high above canyon ridge
                                      little moccasin calls her name
                                      without his blue moon
love would never be the same
so he dances the ring of fire
                                      mounts his horse
                                      and returns
                                      for his ones desire

                                      little moccasin and blue moon
for their love did not come unglued
                                      little moccasin and blue moon
for their love was so brand new

                                      little moccasin's leap of faith
                                      blue moon stride for stride
                                      echoes linger canyons ridge
we'll always's be husband and bride
                                      Navajo and Comanche
they said it couldn't be done
under one God and one indian nation
hunting grounds now they can finally begun

                                      little moccasin and blue moon
for their love did not come unglued
                                      little moccasin and blue moon

Under Ground Cities

A man walks into a new generation gangster town,
there were guns, amoe, drugs, explosives, and allot of bad people, and that's all he found.
He looked around the streets and saw allot of African American people running the show,
he walks into one corridor and into another city, and he welcomed the flow.

The new city, to him it wasn't any different than the one he just came out from, there were Muslims,
they wore gold chains and hiphop music was playing every where, the mostly dealt cocaine, and said fuk them.
there women were so beautiful, they would walk around in heals and panties were ever they went,
the man walked though all the gorgeous women and thought to him self, "no I can't".

The man walks into a new city, he walked into "The Slums" it was the hardest and the baddest outlaws of the nations,
the man looked around and right away he did not like what he saw there, everything was dirty and without and patience.
He couldn't wait to get out of there, the women were nasty and smelled like they haven't showered in years,
The man put his head down and started walking out of the slums with nothing in his eyes but tears.

The man walked into "Siberia" Everyone living there saw the man come in and they all rushed to great him,
at first the man got a little scared, but than he saw there smiles, so he smiled back at them.
Everyone was living there was dancing to a death mettle Hip Hop music, while drinking and sniffing cocaine with a gun on there sides,
The man walks to the bar while looking at all the beautiful women that are dancing and giving him a sexy look.
Than the BOSS of the city comes up to him, pores him a drink and tells him how he is the BOSS of the whole West Coast,
the man looked at him and smiled, he put his hand around the boss, looked at everyone around and said, "Let's Toast".

A woman's body

I dream of a woman's body
and of wrapping it in my arms
and watching as it gets slushy
and as she progressively
becomes more slutty.
I'd like to play with it
like a fishers price toy.
And go fishing until
I've reached the treasure.

With a woman's body the fun
is never really over and I'll
keep scobba diving until
I've seen all four walls.
And pushed each and every lever.

Some women than like to sever
all ties and be the player.
But when I dream of a woman's
body I dream that time is frozen.
And that this one sensuous moment
could last forever.

But I haven't found her body yet.
I regret....

2012 Confession

Have you ever been in a situation when it feels like everyone is against you, and the whole world is pressing down on your shoulders? Well this write is about that.

There is no place to run or hide,
The pain and the agony builds up like a tide.
I want to scream but nothing would come out,
I try so hard a pull so tough that I dragged a gout.

It's not easy for me to express my feelings just to anyone,
There is allot of security issues in me that are not so fun.
I understand everything clearly,
I just wish to get out of this world and be care free.

It feels like chains have bounded me to the fiery deaths of hell,
It hurt and burns, but I can't break though this shell.
I have hidden my emotions deep inside,
Just so that no one would see the monster I have to reside.

It hurts me more than other to see myself turn into something that I am not,
I would commit crimes and other illegal thing and would not get caught.
I would hurt myself emotionally so that no one would see my scares,
It would be better is I would just go back behind bars.

Can no one see that I am also human and need some effection.
Or am I just a toy that people like to mess around with and Be selfish.
At breaking point I stand, looking at the bottom of a cliff thinking,
Should I, or should I not?

But hay, if I do, I am sure that everyone would be left at peace and care for YOU.

Love Tribute to a NATIVE AMERICAN ship's captain in Alaska

Love Tribute to a ship’s captain
                  By Victoria Anderson –Throop

In early May
Black rough seas
Fought stormy skies
The North Sea
Battled the blowsy gusts
Like an angry lover

In early May
My Norwegian madness
Attacked me like a dog
I yearned to feel
The wild motion under my feet
The spray screaming ice on my face
Ships were moored
Dry docked until June

My crazy man
A ship's captain
Loved the stormy sea
Shared Viking blood
  His father,
       A Norwegian ship’s captain
        In Alaskan waters
       Went adrift in a storm
        And never left a sweet
        Inuit's bed.

My man felt it too,
The thrill of the wind and sea.

Doubtless foolhardy
Certainly risky
The smell of rain
And the thirty kinds of snow

We tossed the lines
And let the
Raging rig
Celebrate our
As the sky
Made passionate love to the sea.

Bipolar - The Revised Lyric

Here is the finished revised Lyric for Bipolar. The song can be heard at my poetry website and then clicking the Bipolar link.
Sometimes I can feel a magic like I've never known.
I could run a thousand miles. Run a thousand miles.
Sometimes it's more like I'm dying here all alone.
Sometimes I think I'll die alone.

Sometimes I can reach out for you, but you're made of stone.
I could die a thousand times. Die a thousand times.
Sometimes it's more like you're showing me I'm not alone.
Sometimes I think I'm not alone.

Euphoria. Up and down. In and out.
Up and down. Euphoria.

Sometimes I can feel a magic like you've never known.
I could run a thousand miles. Run a thousand miles.
Sometimes it's more like you're showing me I'm not alone.
Sometimes I think I'm not along.

Up and down. In and out.
Up and down. In and out.
Euphoria. Then I'm down. Down. Down.
Euphoria. Then I'm down. Down. Down.

Choesn For Me

Here where the mountains touch the sky
I stand beside you and can only sigh
You hold my hand and show to me
This land that your eyes see
The snow capped mountains and clearer blue sky
Does one need more I think not I
I want to stay here forever with you
And help you make your dreams come true
Here with you I want to always be
In this country that’s wild and free
When I look in you eyes I see
The love the spirits have chosen for me

Every second passes by me unseen But I can feel the weight of one minute After each hour my mind becomes keen: That these days are adding up bit by bit. Each week my personality alters A year goes by and my mind starts to twist Decades pass and it seems as time falters, My mentality gets lost in time’s mist. Yet when I am with you the clock stands still If only I could exploit these feelings I could stop the sands of time at my will But I’m not capable of these dealings Time now steals what I already forgot My mind starts to fade but our love will not

Brave Hawk

Together we were in a different time
We shared one heart and a love for all time
Our love let us soar with the eagles and hawks
We walked were the spirits walked
You vowed you would never leave my side
And no one would change those feeling
You kept deep inside
Though many have tried to make you stay
By my side you would always stay
So my brave hawk from so long ago
Hold me tight and never let me go

Love is a four letter word, when u feel it,it's like you're stuck in an imgianation, so hard to break away, dont know the right words to say, wondering if you want to stay,so many different emotions you're ready to run away, than you think did i just make a mistake, well no,falling in love is like a drug, you cant stay away, you feel used when that person you loved so dearly is now walking away, love is blind and it hurts like hell, life you have to deal with,a broken heart, you cant with-held.

Passing Through

Meandering through parallel dreams
Sunlight reflecting off sheer cliff
Stonewalled direction of ever river
Flowing onward through time.

Thumbnail scrapes old paint
Where generations of varsol coffee cups
Loosen the hold easily
Bubble and peel
Ripped vinyl booth bench
Duct taped
In true Canadian style.
Grey. And blue.

You watched me
Raptor eyes caught every nuance
That rippled across
But I was never afraid to meet those eyes
Got some of my own
Flown to the sun and back
You did not lack character
Granite cliff
I’ll grant you that

Braids black enough still
Grey came late to you
Like wisdom
Same denim vest I remembered
Doesn’t button over fry bread belly anymore
But the smirk is the same
I dare you
That mouth said in silence.
And I wondered if it remembered the taste of me
All those years ago
When I took that dare.

Just passing through
Like I always am
I get up to leave
And am surprised
To see the disappointment on your face
And the answering echo in my own heart.
“You got a wife and kids now” I reminded you.
“I did back then too, just never told you.
I’m being honest now.”

Highway winds through rock cut
Blasted out of proportion
So the loggers
Could make it home safe.
4 lanes now in some places,
Making way for the tourists,
Like me

Love tribute to a NATIVE AMERICAN MAN
By Victoria Anderson-Throop

In Alaska

By gray sea

Walks a man

Who looks for me

Predator at ease

City burdens cast aside

Grace in every stride

Burnished face of natural pride

Eyes of love personified

As we meet beneath red oaks

Summer sun our golden cloaks

What delight sweet love can be

breathes ecstasy

My Loving Mother

Wiped away my tears when I was sad
Gave me space when I was mad
Hugged me when I needed her embrace
Always put me in my place

Was the one who got me through the hard times
The one who sang me nursery rhymes
Kept me away from the danger
Held me away from my anger

Always told me that she loved me
Never doubted me
I could always lean on Mom
And she could always make me calm

Mommy I love you with all my heart
And I trust you with it because you would never tear it apart
I love you so much
And I know you love me too because I feel it in your touch

Do not look at me because my skin be black
My hair so short and kinky
My nose as broad as the California sun
My mind a mystery to thee
Don’t look at me for my teeth are strong
They will grind because you look at my slender eyes
My breast in bloom the curve of a hip
My lips be red it don’t go to my head
Do you see me like you
I am your sister is it not true?
While you looking at me
I be sly lookin at you
Favoring ancestors I never knew

The seldom other

As I turn the corner ,the freeze of winter kindred hits me ,I makes me feel home
the older and more it blows I am home in for only a few seconds soaring eagerly
high above the earth on a cold winter moon shine light I am numb and happy, I
should be thinking of the other, yet I think of the now bonded other I saw brief and
vanish of rich alcohol in the night twain ,all I think is of the now other shining
brightly ,glistening eyes of walk with me ,I don't know ,how beautiful my god
why ,why, I climb the stairs ,walk to use the key i see the light above shine on me
I remember the other the pain briefly oh arch Michael shine for me, steps. femme
you stole me.

when eyes crawl ...

in words
         grace falls
                     from the page

falling down for quite some time
                every soft silence is falling
                        every flying dream
falls swiftly down

every enjambment
               every word
                       every note
falls down
   your feet

where the beat
           lifts it up

where you dance
                 it up

and feel your heart

where you lift your eyes
from the mud to the skies
looking like a fallen angel or a dirty saint

seeing the words
in the clouds and the rain
in the stars and galaxies filled with dust and fire
in the wars of men and the gathering of moths
in the sweetest honey mead and your broken guitar
in the sea and the wind and the shadows of the street
in the secret in your eyes

where you

                       see the spaces

                                     where my pen gently aches

The Interlude

I am drenched
In a solemn, endless rain of tears
Over the drifting of my sole spring—
Its grace and ethereal splendour

Extricate me,
Now lost in the tangled darkness of cosmic riddle
Fire me,
To the crest of your sublime ripple

In a murderous mob
Hunting down intolerant voices
Let me flourish

Efface that vestigial wilderness
Of towering forest between
So I can hear …

Lavish on me the wealth of your melodic inventions
Closing that desert of distance
That long seems across trillion miles

I, the latest flame in your rising fire
Pull me near your rapid river
Where groves laden with mangoes quiver

I Ask

Oh Great Spirit I ask Thee
To watch over and protect my brave Cherokee
He has gone away I know not where
Yet my spirit is with him there
He must do this task now
And the pain of parting has caused him sorrow
I ask you Great Spirit if it is to be
Bring him safely home to me
He holds my spirit and my heart
Leaving me only sadness since we’ve been apart
Only when I see his smiling face
Can this sadness be erased
Oh Great Spirit I ask of Thee
Bring safely back my Cherokee

Hurricane Katrina

Awesome power is it natures wrath
To devastate all in its path
Twisters, winds driving rain
Leaves no place to look the same
In a way as it gathers pace
Never in a human place
Hidden killer out at sea
Land urge where it wants to be
Building strength, gathers speed
To destroy any breeds
The one i recall in this worlds arena
This phenomenon called Hurricane Katrina
Louisiana, New Orleans
Was subject by one so mean
Her awesome might hammers home
We are not on this world alone
The sights viewed all around the world
Natures torture from her living swirl
To consternate these Southern Lands
The rains and winds spew from her glands
The aftermath and splatter view
Killed so many, survivors few
City blocks submerged and broken
A legacy of natures token
New Orleans Jazz continues to play
Although nature won this day
Resilient folks, awesome place
Human nature won this race
Undercover we will rise
But in mother nature we will not despise
She gives us life, we share her hope
To view her strength, we can not gloat.

What Would Happen?

What would happen to a rose forbidden from sunlight
Bound into darkness alone
Withering cries that cast shadows even in the darkest of places
Desperate callings into the soils so rich and giving
Yet death comes slowly
But it comes

What would happen to a wingless dove still so desperate to fly
Freedom torn from flesh
She lives, but not in life
She is prey for the scavengers of death
She lives, but cannot fly
She watches her death come
And it comes creeping in the dark edges of life

What would happen to a whale unable to swim from shores
Beached and bound to the forces of gravity
Suffocating pressure so inescapable
She can see her life behind her
But cannot reach it
She touches the sands that irritate wounds
She touches another world
A place where she has no place
She slowly dies in the sun
Songs that echo in the pools do not sing anymore
Chords lost
And death comes

What would happen to a wildebeest that wanders away alone
To become an individual, she has to leave
But then becomes vulnerable
To the same scavengers that scream in the night
And loom in the shadows
She becomes one
And yes, death comes
It comes with ripping teeth and razor claws
Tearing flesh and consumption
Her organs in the bowels of a predator
Still while she screams
And she stands beyond death
But for a moment
And then she leaves

What would happen...
I know exactly what would happen...

when i cry

Nature calls from under bush.
Rain floods from the sky.
Wet grass soaks my feet.
Wind carry me as the cold
freezes me to the bone.
Branches scratch my limbs.
Thorns pearce my flesh.
Mountains bang against my
When i cry.
When i cry angels hear my
Foodless stomach, sleepless
Womanless groin
Angels hear when i cry.
Dry thoart, dry tears, cracked
lips, crying spoiled baby
Head on the ground
Angels hear when i cry.

Blood - Brothers

I Hear Drum-Beats Across The Land… Can You Hear It?
All Our Homes Are Handed Down by The Highest Spirit
Long-Ago, The Native Peoples of The Land
Knew… The Earth and Us – Go Hand in Hand

I Hear Hoof-Beats Across The Land… Can You Hear It?
Its Not The Buffalo or Antelope – Who Grew To Fear It
Its Battles of Braves and Soldiers – Both Grim Reapers
Can’t Forget… We ‘Are’ Our Brother’s Keeper…

         Blood – Brothers
… We Are Blood-Bound To Love
         Blood – Brothers
We Are Blood – Brothers Of
All Sons and Daughters of Mankind
The Great Spirit Binds…
      … Blood – Brothers

I Heard Hate – Beat Down The Land… Did You Hear It?
Pollution and Persecution… Its Time To Cure It
End Our Journey On The Trail of Tears
With Broken Arrows and Rivers – Running Clear

I Hear Heartbeats Across The Land… Can You Hear It?
If You Turn and Face The Wind… You Are Near It
It Pounds Deeper Than The Skin, Or A Flood
It Echoes To All … Its In Our Blood !

        Blood – Brothers
… We Are Blood – Bound To Love
        Blood – Brothers
We Are Blood – Brothers Of
All Sons and Daughters Of Mankind
The Great Spirit Binds…
      … Blood – Brothers

              * * * * *
The Eagle Flies On The Breath Of Life
         And So Do You
May The Blue Sky And Your Clear Eye
         See Many More Moons

Keepers Of The Earth… Guard This Turf
        And Each Other
For Every Human Birth… Has Worth
         As A Blood – Brother

For Those Killed and Blood Spilled
         The Ground Cries
Soaks The Dust… And Curses Us
         When A Brother Dies…

          Blood – Brother …

Oink Blotz

Lately I’m beginning to think we don’t have a prayer
What happened?
The only recourse besides rebellion is adequate representation
This country needs to be together and all I hear is divisive
Liberals and conservatives together pointing fingers
The bureaucracy is staggeringly over balanced
Pork Barrels carry Care Package Labels
(For the children)
Even I can see smoky mirrors spin too slowly
Intelligentsia seems to have stolen the supreme court
Who else would usurp home rights
Or separate God and Country
What manner of man would run for office
To try and bring order out of collegiate chaos?
Has no-one seen the disruptive power of French Canada?
Protestant Belfast?
Catholic Terrorism?
Dare I mention Twin Towers
And the divisiveness of how to build a memorial there
A normal Yank would have rebuilt bigger already
Lest I forget
We don’t have a prayer
United States? In a Pig’s Eye Porky

Running Wolf

Running Wolf a brave from long ago
Loved the maiden Little Doe
He loved her with his heart and soul
She made his life complete and who
He vowed he'd never leave her side
But fate had changed for him that day
When he met his death so far away
He left his maiden all alone
And she lost he will to live when she lost her heart song
She loved no other and prayer for the day
He would return to her some how some way
The spirits answered the maiden's prayer
And placed the back again back here
 To make the circle complete
There is one more task she must meet
She must tell him all she now knows
And risk losing the love and friendship they now know

Cherokee Spirit

It was like that of a breeze it carried, that of an elegance it soared.
Through the heavens she roars as she stood among many.
There the eagle soars with lift of the wind.
It’s there on a hunt, its heart begins.
It’s the belly of the soul needs fulfilling as it fly’s for that of grace.
For as an angel this day, has given me that of God’s grace.
Through them canyons the spirits run wild.
It’s there the fox runs, as it is a maiden at play.
She moves with the swiftness of the wind.
That Indian spirit souring through with hollowing winds.
It’s there I was on the prowl through the desert sands.
That to which was beauty and grace came and swept right in.
Though there is a cloud to which shades the moon.
There is spirit that still fly’s the blues.
They come in many, that to which protects us all.
There’s always one with heart that will steal it all.
There is always a light that out shines them all.
Even through the dark side of them walls.
It’s the spirit that watches the soul as they live among that of dead souls.
But it’s there that goodness reins.
As my heart I throw with rings.
It’s there we live to love, is the heart being in love.
That it may be caught and soar with blue winds.
But be protected by that to which stars rein the heavens in the end.
It’s there I would soar with forever more.
As my heart would fly free from that to which is of dark doors.
I would glide with eyes of the spirit as I to would be fulfilled with spirit.
To find my belonging and soar the skies beyond.
That in God we could go far and beyond.
And forever to be loved by what is your grace and eye’s of love.
Knowing there’s a chance of this being true love!
I would glide the heavens with you and like a hearts first love.
Give praise for he has sent me one with beauty and wisdom to love.

Wail Spouting

In my America
The government is elected
The people support the government
Representatives of the people would represent
Partisanship would be reserved for elections
Senators would not act as mine are acting now
New Orleans was flooded because of ineptitude
New Orleans mayor had five days notice
Louisiana’s governor had the same
Bush declared a national emergency before the disaster
Bush asked both to get the people out
My senators know these facts ignore them and blame Bush
In my America this would call for a special election
These senators should be replaced
Louisiana should hold special elections immediately
But in my America the twin towers would have been rebuilt by now
Dissension division second languages Black Pride active atheism
Support of ILLEGAL aliens voting prisoners Supreme Court Idiocy
What floor of this Tower of Babel are we on?
Who will lead us back to reason?
Times like these produced Hitler
What will Kennedy and Kerry produce?
Who can they blame for us to hate?
Hitler had gypsies Jews and non whites
What’s Kerry got? Red States?
“Ask not what this country can do for you”
In my America
People count
I’m counting the days
But what do I know about unity
I’m a Massachusetts Republican immigrant
In my America we had a UNITED States
People who hired illegal immigrants were criminals
My neighbors were Americans first
Not Afro Americans not Irish Americans
American Irish American Africans American Indians
American It means free
It carries a lot of responsibility
More than my senators seem to own
I am ashamed of my chosen country’s ineptitude
Overcome with disgust for terrorist rights activists
And extremely thankful to all dead and living enlisted patriots
God Restore American Freedom’s Fire In Timely Yore

Life Is Light

Light is energies;
Life is light.
Colors of the spirit;
Hope in the night.

A beacon of hope;
For a troubled world.
Can be found;
In the heart of one girl.

Let your spirit shine;
Let your colors glow.
Be positive energy;
And let love flow.

Eye had to put my love in a poem so eye could send it her way she is gone from
me today away and hide eye had to stop play and work of every kind to tell her but
how ? How can a man describe the color of his love and the feelings she
inscribes inside a heart not feeling any pain or gain no just holding ground the
softness that eye feel like a big flowing cloud or the gentle flowing sky seen
breezing bye leaving me alone in a dark cold night waiting for the love to come
again and give me light the lust replaced by gratitude and haste replaced by
need, she speaks to me when eye am hide when eye am waiting for her love.
When eye am free.

A Place Where Love Abides

There is a place where love abides;
Where hearts know not fears.
Come and join by my side;
Let me wipe away your tears.

Trust and take my hand;
Have faith in humankind.
Be you here or in a foreign land;
We shall leave no one behind.

Unite, Warriors of the Rainbow;
To create a world that is fair.
Let our numbers rise and grow;
Please form a circle prayer.

With one common quest;
We are not so different, you and I.
Let all lands from east to west;
Be a place where love abides.

Walking in the Wind for she

Under the sighing sky I stood within the swaying grass
With the rain pelting me like tears of heaven fallen just for us, we the two
And where were you when open these arms did I to the sky and rains drinking of my life
Lost a little bit down by the shore of the teaming river dancing across the turtle
So to it is that I turn from the rains feeding my soul to you and I whisper across . . .

“At times your anger is masked,
A perception made to last a moment in time of thought,
You divide,
And issue your emotions like that of a pedal in the wind,
No direction consistent
It flows in the breeze swaying,
Hopelessly looking for a soft place to land . . .
And when finally a comfort zone appears
You place your moment of emotion down
With caution
Allowing your self to be free,
If only for a moment the protective barriers come down and. . .
Trust appears in the haze . . .”

So my breath falls silent and is lost within the rains streaming down my face
Like the sounds of your bare feet tamping, tamping through the tall grass
That licks your legs and sighs across your dress of downy hide
Beaded in color shied away and wept with tears cascading from the forlorn skies
Awash am I
Now in the past moment barely past this way before when last did I stumble . . .
Across your voice singing like the lute of day breaking across the river’s silent dance

Once more all over again I hear your voice calling out to me . . .

“I do
It surfaces from a place
A place I cannot intentionally visit
For at random the raw emotions take on life and suddenly
The emotions without names
They pump in my veins like that of the thundering sky lit by lightening bolts
Threatening to make they're appearance known,
Then with an unexpected BANG my pen demands
To be in action grasping capturing this moment in time
That will appear and be gone,
A sigh of relief
As I struggle with speediness to write,
Barely catching each emotion that has taken life
But only for a flash of time,
I pause
Frustrated as the glory has gone
The moment now faded
I hang my head disappointed
For when will they surface again,
I need to feel
I can't explain my thoughts
My thoughts
My thoughts have scattered into a wistful breeze
Still silent,
Unmolested silence
With only the distant cries of . . .
Nature singing it's melodious . . . lullaby

A lone pretty Cherokee face
native but alone in the city of The Whitest Men
She knows only a few words of Modern's English
Orphan of the Country
The last Tribe has been vanquished some time ago

She is known by that now(her birth Name forever unknown)
Hitchhiking from city to city, mile after mile, highway after highway
The hours from dawn to dusk, she is walking along
without a want or a need for duty or Blood's Lust
Shining everyday in the the Pit of Life, gone so astray

Lighting up every corner and section of the Western Sky
From time to time, she will stop to pause and begin to cry
Tears silently fall from this Majesty's Face
Open up her Indian Beauty to sketch the world with just a trace
It is the most innocent of all the Innocence left in this Time

I hope to acquire about her when she stops near the Boston Common

Mothers and Daughters

moody and blue
whatever became of you
somedays i can't even
that i know you

how we used to
laugh and play
holding hands
most of our yesterdays

your dreams
were splashes of sunshine
pillars of hope
visions of imaginary time

now, your reality
shivers with fear
you push me away
of my bitter tears

mothers and daughters
like forces of electricity
they unite then divide
streams of love and malicity

without warning
you jolt our being
creating chaos
sorrow without any meaning

lashing out
you yell and stare
spilling your anger
the urgency to care

like a tornado
with a bitter torment
you swirl us around
your apathy and contempt

finally, caressing moments
balance the injuries and the pain
we hold on and hug one anothet
for our love to forever be the same

Color Of My Shadow

Color of my Shadow
Once again the answer to my prayer was me
The thing most taken just for granted
Life itself in the physical was given
The flowers were chasing colors as eye walked
Changing from dark purple back to dull blue
Its when eye turned and thought of ewe
The love GOD gives to us is hidden in our Hearts and my love for ewe is in there
Never ever to depart though they slay me on a thousand hills of skull on a
thousand different planets made of GOLD eye will always have my LOVE she
loves me so she is mye silver and mye GOLD and my GOD above HE still loves
me and makes me understand in shadows given.
The Colors of mye LOVE are different shaded hues of light beams from the sun
catching and reflecting and refracting all to be so bold to be so in the corner of
mye eye to give me LOVE. In the shadow passing bye.
Once again eye found mye GOD and saw mye LOVE. In the shadow passing bye.
She is with me now for ever and a day.
In the shadow passing bye.

Gentle Winds

Gentle winds hear my prayer
And take it to my brave somewhere out there
Tell him I long to see his face
To feel the warmth of his embrace
To walk with him on this land
The brave warrior and his maiden
To laugh and love as we did before
And vow we will part no more
Gentle winds take him back home where he belongs
To all he loves and to his heart song

I had kept them for the moment when I hoped to make you mine.

so you choose the distant vision of the strange and foreign shore
on the great ships you are leaving ,I will see you nevermore.

Confidant am eye the daughter kept my secret. Eye never told a sole of her plans
at all she loves her mother faithfully. A better daughter is not to be found on this
side of the mason dixon line she is the image of the one eye love the image as
the rising son. The life that HE has afforded me came screaming from above the
sky love one another is the message breathed. The daughter is the reason why
eye pray in the morning light. The honey bee came to the cactus patch and got
some food all over her wings to carry home to hive. The flowers barley opened up
she did not stay long she did not give up but she flew away to try some more she
had to make her score. Eye love the mother very much but now eye love her
daughter even more for her abscence from our correspondance has made my
heart grow fonder of her secret kept
in larder full of love.

Some people are just different some people are just blessed
Some people are not better more humble than the rest of people seem
Some people make a stab at things unseen
A simpleton a farmer a soldier and the rest a laborer a warrior a vest
A statesman and a teacher a lion of a man and a little baby lamb
These poets These poets These poets of the land.

A Doctor and a Lawyer and the Indian.
A surveyor when he can find the time makes rhyme.
A carpet layer and a concrete maker the least of these and them.
A forgotten homeless in the corridor of time.
Endless women blessed woman making rhyme.
These Poets These Poets These Poets of the land.

Some people have so many problems stemming from the lust.
Some people have so many journeys starting on the dust.
Every march of a thousand miles begins with just one step.
Every poem written began with just one word.
Yellow and white and black as night.
These Poets These Poets These Poets of the land.

My Simple Task

You can not hurt me nor make me cry
I have built a fortress around me in my mountains in the sky
High above it all I can now see
The true path that was destined for me
It is not in this life that I seek my reward or glory
I am here for a simple task and to tell a story
And when my story is done
I will return to where I belong
Where my heart song waits patiently far beyond.
He knew that his task was to find me
Yet in was not together for us to be
I miss him more than simple words can express
But I must remain here to follow my quest
And so I sit here and think of him fondly
Knowing that one day once again I'll see my brave Cherokee

He left his village miles away
Following a vision the Spirits sent to show him the way
He knows not why he searches so
Yet in his heart when he sees it he will know
For when he does he will no longer roam
He will find his morning light his shinning star
The reason he has traveled so far
A maiden who will end his roaming days
A soul mate to be with the rest of his days
A maiden as beautiful as the sun's light

without a claim to so abound
I sift, but to a memory of one whose care is found
in his fond grace, or sift unto another place.
my thought but bound, to some small hope's impound.

Then sifting not, I so resound with worry

the color of love

Together we reunite hand in hands as we sail
together like waves of the ocean lands not
knowing were this could lead so we just follow
our hearts and make believe that this is the
destiny god lead us to be for u and i who would
of ever knew that ebony and ivory were no
better two for the world really doesnt quite
understand thats why they look at us with such
a cold hand like we have broken the "codes of

open their eyes to see that love is blind and
sees no color only the love that builds among
one for another...

Eagle wings

It’s not just keeping Humpty warm and safe
Until the hatching time
It’s also singing songs of flight
For unborn chicks to want to soar
as lullabies in long warm nights
Before shell walls come tumble down
This freedom is a strange and wondrous thing
To be defended unto death and yet to sing
Of soaring flight on which we wing
Lest we forget the wars our fathers fought
To give us this responsibility
This charge of liberty
That stings of strife salt sweat well earned

Of life with souls eternal in this harder
won fraternal love of living free
To work at flights of fancy
But most of all to work
in working class to build a finer nest
for soaring eggs to hatch and sing
In well earned free flown joy

A Tribute To Mtncheroke

A dear friend has left us today
Our sorrow at times seems to be more than mere words can express or say
A gentler, kinder soul never walked upon this land
A truer friend we will not find in this life time
He honored us with his frinedship, love and loyality
Honor to him was not just a word you see
The tears and sorrow we feel now we understand for it is our time to grieve
But a part of him lives on in each on us
This I do believe
For those who touched him the most and you know who you are
He's never far from you just look at the night sky for his face is in every star
They called you home too soon my friend such a pity we can't changed what was
meant to be
But I know I have been honored to know no braver man than Mtncheroke

Tales from the white canoe;Departure

She had his bracelet on her arm,
his taste upon her lips,
he had a token of her love
upon his fingertips,

They parted at the crossing
of the creek where they first met,
her laughter,
floating feathers,
and he never will forget,

The way the thunderheads
the running buffalo,
and followed close,the pouring rain,
he could not see her go.

If they should meet beyond the veil
of time and wasted pride,
he vowed that he would end his trail,
and stay there by her side.
