Where Has Dad Gone, Mama Dear

Where has dad gone, momma dear?
Hush, my little lamb.
Your dad's gone to the thicket dear
And mad old Abraham

That man went early this grim morn, and took his sharpened knife
And with him took his own first born, to offer up his life
With servants and with firewood, both, they journeyed to Moriah
And on the hillside there they built an altar and a fire

And Isaac, when he heard the plan, went willingly, it's odd
That he should let that daft old man, so worship his cruel god.
Your father, he was passing by, and heard but could not see
And foolishly could not deny his curiosity

So closer did your father scramble peering through the thorns
Unaware of how the brambles tangled with his horns
Just to see a crazy man who planned to kill his kin
Your father did not understand the danger he was in

For then again that mad old man started hearing voices
His god was speaking to the loon and giving him new choices
And so his plan to slay the boy came about to falter
And Abraham, he took your pa and dragged him to the altar

But that was never fair, mama, can you tell me why
When Isaac he was all prepared and well prepared to die
And all had been decided on, so what cruel trick mama
Was played upon that grand old ram, who was my own papa?

Life is not fair, my little lamb, nor is it like to change
And fate plays tricks on all of us, both sinister and strange
So you take care, my little lamb, with this advice from me
Do not visit places where you know you should not be

The moral of this story dear, is take heed of the odds
And stay away from two-leggies worshipping their gods

Yesterday Acrostic

Yesterday I thought about the fears of tomorrow
All day I was sucked in that vacuum of sorrow
My worries weren’t grounded in reality
Troubles like these are not an extension of me
Seemed like the dread made sense at the start
So authentic, as if it came from a flow chart
Farfetched though, this assessment that I contrived
Away like some theories that are no more than jive

Now I must tell the truth by stating that fear
It is embarrassing, I know, but I need to be clear
Looks like I’m deathly afraid to step on a crack
As I was told, it’s apt to break my mother’s back
Though how could that be? Well, I never asked
They’re quite certain though, that she’d end up in a cast
Here and now, we are starting the official today
To which I must chance it, by walking a sidewalk all day
Stay in doors? I wish. Oh yes, I wish there was a way!

Oh, I suppose I could walk with a certain cadence
I think that I can step on the concrete in segments
Believe me, it’s been done, coz when I look around
In my own neighborhood, and in our larger town
Yesterday I saw mothers; their outlook is sound

Just Reach

just reach your hand out to the sky
pull your loved ones back to your side

lets get to say one more goodbye
for we never wanted them to go away and die

as now the days and nights lay
in such sweet disguise

so let us once again our lord
stare into their illumating eyes

as we reach out for them
in your broad horizon sky

and get to hold and kiss them
even if their not by our sides

for if this is however feels when we die
then I'd like to be that angel in that sky

so I can just reach out right back
and wipe their tears too from their eyes

Tribute To Our Loved Ones
On The Other Side
May You All RIP

A Political Person

A person who feels about others
And speaks on their circumstances
And offers a better suggesions
To improve the damped system

To delete opportunism aspects
To develop everyone’s share

To build a civil agenda to enjoy

Solipsist

Let the Deicide commence.

You're a voyeur at best!
Your vampiric heart is beating out of your chest!
And you have slayed the ones whom would love you for anything less
Ready to consume the final fragments of innocence,
And for you there is no forgiveness,
On your knees pleading, screaming to a tyrant in the skies;
The father of lies.

I will never be enslaved in your superiority
The people agree: jaded of your false dichotomies.
Know: I will be whomever nature intends to be
Apollo and I will share our dreams,
and you will be forced to see
your failure!

I know who you are...
Readily the first to present your scars
Chained by some despot or mental czar
An emotional homunculus in your mind, behind bars
Reluctant to escape - even when proven fake
Your demented mind - depths no one will penetrate!

...And you see me suffering
Not caring of any casualties
Just as long you recieve your safeguard of sympathy
So very wary of the masses and their Anarchy; Liberious ways

Solipsist - Is there no one you can see?
Even if she was presented burning?
Solipsist - Is there no one you can believe?
Even if Sophia was screaming?
Solipsist - Know you have killed and abused me
Imprisoned in your own personal reality

Healing Words

My mother, my grandmother before has always held a place in my heart.
My father, and my grandfather before has the same part.
I was young and very active with unwillingness to listen fully to what they had to say.
I had a problem, never could be solved without my parents and grandparents till today.
With patience they all come to my aid when I fall on my face.
With little dishonor I listen to them and what they had to say, I embrace.
Over the years I go to them with no doubt a feeling of no dismay.
Over the years I go to them and they help me solve problems that to me is O.K.
Now I am getting a bit more aware of what had happen to me when I was growing.
Now I remember how the ride was in my beginning: it was a trial of not knowing.
With the guided words of my parents and grandparents I survive through them all.
With it some being a problem that I remember I recall.
My mother and my grandmother always said to be patient and it will be easy to solve.
My father and my grandfather always knew that I would grow and evolve.
I could wonder everyday what if my parents and grandparents was not in my life.
I could just think that would be fatal like a stab with a knife.
With knowledge that they had past on to me of what they had experience.
With their proof of teachings they had past on to me is their self existence.
Over the years I grew with life so full of happiness that was because of my families love.
Over the years it showed me the path that led me to all the above.
Now cherish those words that help me through my troubles in my new family.
Now I listen to my parents healing words of wisdom and except them gladly.

THE SEVEN DIVISIONS OF WOMANHOOD

To Shakespeare I give all due respect,
But the world must be a huge theater I suspect.
Woman’s the major player if not the star,
For she influences all with love from afar.
The main acts of her drama as one envisions,
Occur for my audience in seven divisions.

First the helpless infant in her nurse’s arm,
Fresh from God’s hands smiling and warm.
Yet guiltless and untouched by worldly strife,
She is but a stranger to sin in this dawn of life.
In her pink crib she looks cute and pure,
With a smile on her lips so modestly demure.

Next as a tender young girl of school age,
With pigtails and grace she enters the stage.
An innocent young girl loving dolls and toys,
She has no taste for bruises, math or boys.
Her voice is like music whenever she speaks,
Explaining with emotion the desire she seeks.

In the sweet summer age she becomes a blossom,
And weathers the waves in the role of stardom.
Now she’s a young lady with a pure, creative mind,
Nursing dreams of a life moral and refined.
When put into the orbit of heart-consuming men,
Overcoming dying hope, her world she has to win.

As a wife she makes her home a true nirvana,
Winning from the man she loves her merited honor.
She is in hard times his source of consolation,
And in times of pleasure his joy and elation.
As a lover and a mate she continues to perform,
Keeping house and home through every storm.

Now for the most blessed age of female life,
She assumes the role of mother as well as wife.
Like God's miracle, the first is released with a hurl,
Then with tears and a scream from womb to world.
Before long baby laughs aloud and pleads for caress,
And mother love with playful smile grants the request.

Next the vestiges of youth appear a distant dream,
And spring's lovely buds now attest to her final esteem,
As she enters her mournful stage of the widow's woe,
Her glance upon her children falls as her eyes overflow.
She has lost all her young heart once fondly enjoyed,
And in the business of change of life she's fully employed.

With the final division, youth is now a faded flower,
And she can bask in the coolness of the evening hour.
As she enjoys the reflection of her progeny having fun,
She is reminded that maternal pleasures are not yet done.
She continues to impart knowledge necessary to sustain,
As she guides their hopes to reach for the heavenly domain.

Rules in the eyes of a toddler

If it is off, I must turn it on.
If it is on, I must turn it off.
If it is folded, I must unfold it.
If it is a liquid, it must be shaken, then spilled.
If it a solid, it must be crumbled, chewed, stepped on or smeared.
If it is high, it must be reached.
If it is shelved, it must be unshelved.
If it is pointed, it must be run with at top speed.
If it has leaves, they must be picked.
If it is plugged, it must be unplugged.
If it is not trash, it must be thrown away.
If it is in the trash, it must be removed, inspected, and thrown on the floor.
If it is closed, it must be opened.
If it does not open, it must be screamed at.
If it has drawers, they must be rifled.
If it is a pencil, it must write on the refrigerator, monitor, or table.
If it is full, it will be more interesting emptied.
If it is empty, it will be more interesting full.
If it is a pile of dirt, it must be laid upon.
If it is stroller, it must under no circumstances be ridden in without protest. It must be pushed by me instead.
If it has a flat surface, it must be banged upon.
If Mommy's hands are full, I must be carried.
If Mommy is in a hurry and wants to carry me, I must walk alone.
If it is paper, it must be torn.

If it has four legs, must squeeze tight until makes noise
If big person is on phone, must make lots of noise
If tv is not on cartoons, scream until they are
If food is not good, throw it, refuse to eat it and cry until big people give you something good

A Farmer's Eyes and a Sailor's Shadow

A thorough yield
On a farm field of far east
It took me time to realize
How far I am to my far east of coast

Call of my weather
Call of my winds
I sailed further and farther
To my naked coasts
Naive songs, Nimble rains
Nile of rivers, Nascent clouds

Reaching this far
I kissed my earth
Ground of my grief
Glory of my ghosts
Glad is those leaves
However scanty they are

Cast is my shadows
No longer they hide
My colors and my figures
They cast numbers on stars
Measure their light
Scope my winters
Scale my summers
Scanty my rains
Scuttle I wish my springs

Now let me see my greens
Their leveling heights
Their leafy gaze
Their spiderly gesture
Their primordial texture
Now let me be slow
In company of my greens

What youth doesn't know or care to know

Oh, how we keep
adjusting
the level of our
expectations
as, age, sickness, and
loss of dreams
take their toll.
You ask what it matters,
if you do not graduate.
Truth to tell, little,
in these times,
in this society.
School is only one
small measure of success,
imperfect at that.

But for a mother,
whose life has been
a weary negotiation
between poverty
and expectations,
the apparent success
of her children
becomes the last measure
of a life's value.

You, in your determination
not to have anyone
judge the value
of your young life
until you hit your
high expectations
refuse to give
one small gift
to one that has lost hers

The Gracious Woman II

The gracious woman grows through her own self-reflection
Everything she goes through in life is a lesson
Her beauty is of essence such as her presence
Full of integrity, compassion, and optimistic guessing
The courage that she brings
Screams a strong woman destined
With the passion of a soldier at war
She is honorable, respectful, worthy and more
Qualities that must be adored

The Greatest Gift Given

15 years old.
It was a brain tumor, they’d said.

Holding past the current;
undertow of reality slapping
my fragility cold –
(steel bars won’t hold water –
movement always finds its way)

O’, how the lies twist!

Twist like the dusty branches
on an old, gray apple,
holding appraising rooks
from another’s waking nightmare.

Suicide, they tell me now.

A menagerie of years too late.
Oh…and by the way,
he’s not your real father;
your real father was dead to you
the moment he found out.

This guy’s just The Black-Maker –
(mother stealer; innocence taker)
a mass of dark waiting to fall;
waiting to burrow beneath light skin
(so dark, even the sun lost hope)

exponentially surrendering -
stuck on repeat.
The temper of blood lost, melting
my thin ice –
can you sense the coiled, un-leashed?

Like a waking May snake
tasting the indifferent air for the first time
since snow;
out of its burrow, and striking
its own skin ripe;
bleeding my vinegar still, sweet;

distilling a wicked brew (a science
experiment gone bad)
until the steel breaks
and every molecule of unoccupied space
is reduced to motes; unseen in the shadow
of its dying host.

A ticking time-bomb:
Sex, drugs, drinking – all manner
of loose cutting;
memory re-making, recapturing of
her long dead ghost, exhumed
from its protective bed
of lies –

and how that double edge twists
to this day.
Only now, it twists in wind through
my reclaimed space.
The sign across my chest reading,
OCCUPIED, instead of
SPACE FOR RENT.

37 years old.
It was suicide. This I know –
lies all told. But,
it was also her greatest gift –
her young life tolled; my life,
paid in full through the tears of time.

(dried up like an ancient river still baring
the scars of once was…)
From one parent to their child,
the gift of life remains the greatest gift
of all.

Nothing was ever taken from me.
No…only given -
un-leashed; un-bound; un-coiled.
My own struggle baring weight -
her wrongs come to my light -
I am the Light-Maker now,
and as straight and long as the journey
from one star to the next; and the next, and on.

I have stopped fighting my past and embraced it.
Thanks to all, (life/her/them/Him)
I am learned and open as renewed hope
from the heart
of God.

*For Michael's Un-Twisted contest. This is part of how I un-tiwsted what came to me twisted;
how I un-did my knots, and gave thanks for those knots instead of trying to fight them.

As my Mother Slips Away

I called my mother the other day- just to listen to her voice
She answered dear Steve – yes this is me- how are you this day
I said I was fine- it has been some time- I searched for more words to talk
She cantered a bit then came to a halt- as I began to say
Mother dear- this is Mark- how are you today
Mark she replied- I have a Mark- he was the oldest of three
How is school - are you making good grades- are you coming home real soon
I told her I would- If only I could- would she know me anyway
I visited my mother the other day- at a home for Alzheimer patients
Her stare in the air- made it be known- that she could not remember
I sat by her side- we nibbled on crackers- we looked out the window pane
Then I was father- she told me she miss me –I cried a thousand tears
She reached for my hand- I did not resist- I was blessed to make her happy
How are you Tom- I said I was fine- The kids will be home soon
I told her it’s time- I must go home - I have to work tomorrow
I took her hand- I’ll see you soon- Goodbye Steve she told me

As my Mother slips away today- how precious are my memories
For after this world –I can hardly wait- for my Mother to recognize me

growing old

The day when I was a younger Lass
never a thought in my young mind
                  soon evolution takes over
I try with grace and truth
                  overcome destiny
                  trading beauty
                  for wisdom
                  the gift
                  wise.

Witnesses To Sinners

I can't hear the words as they come from my mouth
I can't hear the screams as they work their way out
As I write all is seen is a blur and blank moment and
Once recovered sensed the words were written, not
Even a look to see what was written only to know it
Was there.Sleepless night, taunt filled faces horde my
Dreams.Have this made me fall so low no longer am I
Am I able to stand on my own to feet. How many times
Will you make me cry before claiming only to being a
Witness in a crime, your crime. Putting on that face
Working the crowds with amazing easily, how I hate you
Yes all the thing I think about revolve around you.
How many times have I witness myself wound my self
With your blade? As though under a spell doing as order
Without a cry to the world what made me so diligent ?
But no longer can you be a witness,No longer can I be
A witness to these crimes that been committed.Be us both
Sinners be us both lovers be that we both be cursed
We shall witness our sins become whole and the love in
Which we share spread further and further like the flames
Of hades. May there be peace for sinners in the next world.
We are both witnesses and at the same time
We are both sinners one day to become consumed by our
Own darkness how far will we fall until that moment comes?
May we be good may we be bad may we fall may we live may
May we die or carry on we are the Witnesses We are the Sinners
To this world and the next.

My Angel

I kiss her goodnight, two months to the day, and prepare the van, for an overnight stay.
The plan is, a family trip to the shore No thought of regret, can't open that door
Hours had passed, when I heard my wife's cry, I rushed to that cry, so to nullify
The fear in her eye's, I saw from the door, directing me toward, the horror she saw
Then I'm inside, on my baby's right side, I see she's blue, and I know what to do
The soldier inside, is trained to save lives I pumped her chest, and gave her my breath
I got on the line, all while keeping time, rescue arrives and, I hear SHE'S ALIVE!
We fly outside, to follow her ride, lights flash emergency, on the outside
There is no time to spare, when we arrived, we rush through the door, to be by her side
I Pray that my daughter, fought and survived, no words spoken, I can see from Doc's eye's
My heart hits the floor, and breaks deep inside, facing my wife, I can tell her no lies
We dropped at the door, our daughters no more, for she didn't survive, this ambulance ride
Now she's our Angel, we know this inside My family now four, will have to abide For picture frame contest

A Jading

the smell wafted like a dream.
charred wood and red smoke.
“benjie!” she yelled
as i ran away down the hall
raising my arm against the flickering heat.
“benjie, come back!” she pleaded. “leave him alone!”
i stopped
and coughed.
hot air rushed across my face.
hearing nothing but the roaring smoke
i froze-up --
torn for the first time
between Comfort and Knowledge.

then slowly
out of the choking haze
came a whimper
and a scrape.
and a punch shook the wall.
i peeked inside the sizzling arch.
hot pitch oozed
from an overhead beam
caught fire
and dripped tiny flamelets
onto the hardwood floor.
he was there alright.
shaking
and sitting on the floor in the corner.
i whispered:
“what’s the matter daddy?”
he looked up
through crazed eyes of fire and hate.
“go away boy”.
then he cried
and hugged his knees.

Nothing Matters

Inspired by and based on L’Étranger by Albert Camus

I'm a stranger to you, even stranger to me
I'll pass you by like a memory
Of innocence and ignorant bliss.
I feel nothing every time we kiss

I feel nothing each day I'm alive
Nothing matters, we're all gonna die
When and how, I could not care less
I don't care for the life over which you obsess

It can be changed but should I bother?
This life is just like any other
So taciturn and disarrayed
Oh, didn't Mother die today?

Reflecting the sunshine on the blade of a knife
To turn away or to take his life?
I stopped to think as he hit the floor
His breathless body took four more

Now I'm being punished for refusing to lie
If my life is the price then I'll sacrifice
I am not like you, I refuse to pretend
And if truth equals crime then I will not amend

It can be changed but should I bother?
This life is just like any other
So taciturn and disarrayed
Oh, didn't Mother die today?

But I found myself in this nothingess
And learnt to embrace the indifference
The end is nearing but there is no pain
For some strange reason, I feel happy again

I'm a stranger to you, even stranger to me
My blind rage has washed me clean
Proud to say that in this life so absurd
I never belonged to your condemned herd

I could have changed it but I didn't bother
This death is just like any other
So taciturn and disarrayed
Oh, dear Mother, I'm alive again

Observer

A serpent underneath blue sky,
in shade of man, in twinkle of an eye,
above brick wall, in the structure, at the floor,
venom of white dove; contaminated food, undrinkable water,
misguided youth, pregnant daughter, unfaithful father and hateful son,
mothers do pray while we walk through Babylon;
on teli and in the press, on top shells,
price none the less, in bedroom and at your door..
dawn of a new day seemed to be dark,
after all.

Wisdom of Heights---Climb with Me

This morning
bells toll
a trumpet sounds
but refuses to blare
it just doesn't know
how to harm
what it takes
to infect the living

trees
earth
and sound
survive sadness
out last the past
bond brothers and sisters
of sky
air
mud
and water
as it loses
to a force

some days...

this morning
it wins
because the vibration knows god
and is ONE

and though human imperfections
sit in the shadows of it's path
perfections will
and forever will
prevail

people
so arrogant
we choose to destroy
but how can we concentrate
on methods of malcontent
when god sits at our breakfast table?
urging
as father urges child
"get up!"
"move on!"
"stand on two feet!"
"breath child!"

he tolls the bell
as we lay on deaf ears
he loosens ties with anger
as the path warns and wears
thrusting
driving this cosmic ship
of no loses
only tiny
arrogant setbacks

and he smiles
for he knows
what we yet
have to find...
and all is well.

In this mirror, you can hear the child in a tall grass field and running wild The timothy grass hides this boy from view Your watching, and wondering, is that you Too few summers, with many lessons to learn from earth, deer, trout, eagle and fern As student's we gain and strengthen our voice for the path we follow in life, is our choice Take joy in this journey but, leave no track If Mother Earth cries, then you can't go back I see in this mirror, that the child has grown a man,now stands strong, to hunt on his own As he ventures through this forest of strife making choices that affect generations of life Pray that his choices weren't guided by greed Mother Earth cried, the "Great Spirit" takes heed 50 years of choices, in this generation's reign Tears come to my eyes, I feel Mother Earth's pain Man's greed and arrogance spoiled water, air, sky and land Mother Earth, I see is crying, poisoned by human hand With grand-children sick, from this contamination of earth I ask grand-father's guidance, that he return Mother's mirth Man has stopped listening, he's only guided by greed Are only deaf people listening, I keep planting the seed I need your strength and wisdom to guide me along without fear of what's coming, my relations are strong Now I see in the mirror, an elder in white This mirror fades to darkness, I pray for the light
for "The Rhyming Game" contest The mirror doesn't lie!

If You Think

If You Think...

If you think a love like a mother will exist, there and then
You must have been building castles in the air and thus
Need a medic or an injection to kill that feeling of an outcast-
A shadow of falsehood you’ve been chasing.
Friends like mothers will exist no doubt about that
I'm but particular about if boldly will exist in instant world, where
Sailing through has no backfire or low indignation, where
Right to freedom and possession would not be denied, where
Behind your backs, you would have all sides’ safety
Like the baby in the mother's womb, or the sun in the sky.
A bounty ground, a must be aftermath of the journey on free
Bridge on the cross roads, and lanes, and water, and bushes
Over the mountain; the rock, the valley and the hill, and on the
Troubled memory of liquors, women, demigods and kings of miseries?
Water full of love is only a reservoir for the Creator asides mothers.
I may be viewed as uncivilized or sound barbaric by this logic, but reasons
Will proclaim reality in my tone, stand and modest mood.
“Ease! Be at ease!!” The breeze from the mothers’ bosom’s recollections sway, that
Your mind would seek forgiveness and refuge from her, then the All Forgiver. Then true
Mind will redeem and have the lasting rest of his life, yield to and fulfill mother’s wish.

The soul of the Crab

The soul of the crab

Oh how she hides behind that shell
Lets no one see her feelings
She’s practical in everything
But those feelings have her reeling
She’s sensitive, and hurt easy
And her moods they be so many
And yet she has not one bad bone
Malice, she has not any.

She be the one for queen and country
Digs into history
She’s always loyal to her kin
She loves her family
She’ll protect them with her life
Don’t no one touch her man!!!
She has a brilliant memory
And she’ll get you when she can.

Her mother, she loves very much
But her children more than that
Wherever there be family
That’s where she would be at
And how she loves to entertain
And cook delicious food
And always she will be a mother
In her heart will be her brood

Total Destruction

< Destruction of beautiful mother earth
Will it spin off mantel like head to gawk
Or destroyed by mankind for what it's worth

Floods fires quakes acts from natures own birth
                                     Litterbugs arsonists terrorists balks
                                     Destruction of beautiful mother earth

                                    Illuminate waters that someone hurts
Cleanliness is painted in Godly chalk
Or destroyed by mankind for what it's worth

Man woman and even thy smallest mirth
For thy Father in our Heaven will stalk
                                    Destruction of beautiful mother earth

Eagle that soars a wolf howling from girth
Will thy it's freedom ring out thus like the hawk
Or destroyed by mankind for what it's worth

Like land before time when man walked
Wonder how forces existed and talked
                                   Destruction of beautiful mother earth
Or destroyed by mankind for what it's worth

Is it justice or injustice

If i allow a mother to steal food, in order to feed her babies. Does that make me
an angel or criminal? How do we as people not take responsibilty to change our
own destiny?
For justice is the right of everyone!

If i don't take the time to teach this mother to stand, to be self reliant, to have faith,
to face her fears. If i don't teach her compassion and self respect. Does that
make me part of the problem or the solution?
For any injustice hurts everyone!

If i don't register to vote because i believe the system is broke. How then can i sit
on this mother's jury, with 11 others to deceide if she committed a crime?
For justice is the right of everyone!

If i allow the truth to be silenced by her economics or her up bringing. Am I giving
her an excuse to keep on?
For any injustice hurts everyone!

If i check hispanic as my race because my other choices demand that i deny my
mother. Does that mean that i disrespect my own people?Does that mean i don't
believer in Dr. King's dream?
For justice is the right of everyone!

If i allow the disrespect of another's faith, from one coming of my own. Does that
mean I have no faith in my own beliefs?
For any injustice hurts everyone!

If i adopt a child from a a foreign country. Does that make me heartless to the
needs of the here?
For justice is the right of everyone!

If am a solider supporting my family and I must go to war. Does that mean I
support the reasons behind the war?
For any injustice hurts everyone!

If am a hard working law abiding citixen . Does that mean that it is none of my
concern how the system punishes criminals of differnt races?
For justice is the right of everyone!

If my child is on life support and my insurance won't cover no more treatment .
Who then has the right to deceide if my child lives or dies?
For any injustice hurts everyone!

If i justify my wrong doings with excuses of what was done to me and my people.
Will you tell me what that makes me?
For justice is the right of everyone!

Justice is everyone's freedom to think, feel, love, have no limits in what one can
do. Justice is to receive the respect of everyone. Not to be judged for sex, race or
faith. To have equal opportunities for you and I!
To quote Dr. King's words, " Injustice anywhere threatens justice everywhere!"
end quote.
For any injustice hurts everyone!

A True Credo Of Love

(To All Who Believe It Can Be Achieved)

Caucasoid, Mongoloid,and Negroid
Colour the conscience progression
of Man's ethical Truths...
The cultural aggressions of violence
and ignorance must end!
Extend your heart, hand and life
Towards the Precious Don of Honour...
Freely, keeping the sincere
Brotherly Creed

Comments: Brothers and Sisters it is time that we stand up and let the Love of God in, after
all we are all one in the same under the skin, so why not give it a grand try... One Love and
Many Blessings in Him Always, Adell

My Kashmir Burns (Part 1)

I picture Kashmir through lightened KL. News of another massacre darkens my eyes
Winds are thirsty there. They continue to taste the young blood.
I groom myself with exquisite things,
Sipping ice tea in ac room, I comfort myself
And Kashmir burns. Kashmir set ablaze

I can smell the warm blood of beaten corpse
Where from winds bought this smell. Somewhere Karbala reborn.
Mosques are being slammed
There windows stoned. And the black boots leave their footprints on Mimber
Even God judges on evidence
There is one Imaam left now; he hides her daughters in his shadow
A blunt knife in his hands; soon he will sacrifice them to keep their innocence
Kashmir is burning. Kashmir is bleeding
And I write.

Army jeep chases the tracks. To find the associated bodies
They are alive now. Soon they will be dead
From Patan to Sopor, And in narrow passages of nostalgic downtown
Ghosts of curfew
Haunt the houses for young souls.

From the Kupwara cantonments, search lights chase emptiness
Nothing is left now. Search lights can’t see inside the graves
A boy there went missing for two days. His father starts digging his grave.
I put my earphones on and I close my eyes. I sleep
While my Kashmir is ablaze
“It’s me poor farmer’s son. Kupwara’s charm, I feel no pain”.
I see him so alive in my dreams.
He chants songs of Mahjoor from his burnt lips. My hands shiver. He has no finger nails.
I see his smoke tanned skin. Same as that of Khayam’s barbeques
He stands at a distance from me. I can still smell kerosene
“Tell my mother to let her heart become cold. Her heart will not bear my state.
Tell my mother to let her eyes become blind. Her eyes will not withstand my sight.”
I follow him towards his tortured body. He tells me to follow the spilled blood.
His blood has made its own Jhelum. I row on it. Until it gets lost in black boots
The story will turn into legend. I find his body no more.

On the streets silence prevails. Nobody has permission to wail.
Sisters are beatifying coffins while brothers look for stones.
For bullets there will be stones
Kashmir is ablaze. She is wailing in grotesque tones.
In Lal Ded hospital a new born cries: Father register me at cantonment then take me out
Death is recruiting in dozens at a time.
Tomorrow is curfew. Death has no curfew pass.
How they want to identity you. Becomes your identity
People burn up all you identity cards.
