Night Angel

They needed help
Walking alone in the dark.
The man.
The child.
A broken down car.
The child frightened,
But not understanding
The terror
That would soon
Come her way.
Her parents petrified
That their baby was gone,
Agonizing
Over forbidden images
That crowded their way
Past ice cream sundays
And birthday parties
And wedding days.
A passer-by.
A doer of good deeds.
He stops.
He sees.
He looks into
the little girl's eyes.
Bravely
The girl speaks,
"This is not my dad"
And the coward
who took her,
He runs.
He hides.
The passer-by,
Believing he saved
A child
From a long, cold walk,
In reality
Saved a child
From a long, cold death.

24 PROMISES

24 PROMISES

Waking up in the arms of fire.
Ashes all around, burning picture frame.
I see nothing, the night is dark as can be.
I look up, and see my father crying over me.
At this moment, I'm confused.
"AM I DREAMING!"
"AM I!"

I feel and see the tears falling from his eyes.
Without hearing him talk,
I PANIC ~

~At this moment. I feel my whole world collide~
Trying to talk, he whispers words,
Saying, "It's your mother!"
He mutters, them words I don't want to hear.
"NO DAD DON'T TELL ME!"
"NO DAD DON'T TELL ME!"
My heart drops onto the floor..
One long drop, I can feel everything in me wake up.
My blood is rushing, my bones can't stand still..
These tears, falling from my dad are real.

*I'm not dreaming* ANYMORE!
Without caring to put my shoes on,
I rush into my car, and make it to mother's house.

The hours began to drag.
I got to see her lifeless body on the floor,
The paramedics setting her on to a gurney.
I jump on the ambulance,
Yelling at my mother to wake up.
"WAKE UP!"
"WAKE UP!"
She can't hear me,,, cause I'm crying.
At this moment every minute felt like an hour.
**I actually felt eternity, just by holding her hand.**

Arriving at the hospital.
I try to pull myself together.
Now her body is attached to life support.

I'm thinking she will pull through.
She always pulls through.

I closed my eyes, and told God,
I know I don't believe in miracles, nor will I ask for one,
Don't take her today, or in that way.
Let her go on her own.
My eyes where close so tight,
God allowed a vision in my mind..
"My mother waiting for me on the other side"

I refused to let them remove her off LIFE SUPPORT.
Leaning over her lifeless body.
I whispered one thing into her ear,
I told her, my son's birthday near.
I told her you never where there for me,
Stay for his birthday, than set your self free.

Hours, and hours past, she made it the first day.
Another 24 hours past, she stuck around another day.
Another 24 hours past, now it's my son's birthday.
Not another hour past, she decided to go her way.

She left without saying Good bye...
I cried,
Ever since that day something inside me died.

Just speechless

Mom, Dad, How can i describe you? A friend of mine describes his parents as Clueless and lost Another said they are just mean and brat One who never wanted to hurt hers told me hers are Distant and lonely I met one who spoke in my ears That his mom is silly And his dad a drunkard Others call them evil, sinister, diabolical, and grumpy Though most choose to say it softly kind, giving, hardworking but unapproachable But how can I describe you, Mom and dad? Saying you are loving and caring Its an understatement How can i describe you? You teach me right from wrong, You encourage and support me , You laugh with me and wipe my tears away, when i cry Yes you are honest, You are wise, You are respectful, You are intelligent, You are a blessing, So warm, tolerant but patient, But that doesn't satisfy it all You're the reason why I'm so strong, Because you inspire You are the reason why am smart Because you nurture You are the reason why i believe Because you faith-filled When I need you, you're always there I hate defeat because you taught me victory Though today I have a confession to make When it comes to describe who you are to me I am just speechless
Dedicated to my dad and mom James and Cinda Carter Like with every relationship, they have had their highs and lows But no one can rule out that its the best couple i know so far They love God, they love each other and them love me Sponsor: Poet Destroyer A Contest: A poem you have not entered in a contest Poet: Rodgers Roger Carter Date:7/18/2014 Time: 12:00:00 AM

I sold my Mum on EBay

I have sold my mum on E.Bay.
My god my dad was mad.
He can"t believe i did it.
He thinks it"s really bad.

As to why i did it.
There"s reasons plain to see.
My mother is on my back.
Always hassling me.

She complains about my trainers.
She says they really stink.
Moans about the dishes.
That i leave in the sink.

I never make my bed right.
She gets me in a quandary.
States that i should help.
To do the household laundry!

Then every Sunday morning.
She really goes to far.
I have to help my dad.
Wash the family car.

Yes i sold my mum on E.Bay.
Then looked to far off lands.
To find a good replacement.
Post up the wedding bands.

Dad wont be to angry.
I will soon get him on side.
Because i have sent to Thailand.
For a brand new blushing bride.

At first it was ok.
We got on really well.
Then we discovered something.
That i can hardly tell.

I hope we get a refund.
I still have the receipt.
Let me tell you something.
There has been a big deceit.

It started in the bedroom.
I had to get a fan.
To bring my poor old dad round.
Our Thai bride was a man!

I want my mother back.
No matter what the price.
I am fed up eating chicken.
Along with Thailand rice!

"Will you get out of bed,
It is a brand new day,
It is nearly twenty past."
I hear my mother say.

I start to drift awake.
Then i start to beam.
Relief it surge"s through me.
It was a nasty dream.

My mother cant explain.
Why i changed my ways.
I"m really very helpful.
Not like the bad old days.

But if i am really honest.
I suppose i am quite bad.
I have just logged on to E.Bay.

To try and sell my DAD!

" The Life Of Me " page 1 of 2

My name is James, born 1961
In Inverness, a small Scots town
To my father Andrew, and my mother Beryl
And Billy my brother, a pair of devils

In 67, we woke one night
Our house was ablaze, full of orange light
Our neighbour next door, for whatever reason
Started a fire, it must be crazy season

We had too move to a caravan park
By this time it,s three, to make a new start
My mother Beryl decide to leave
But the three of us left, never bothered to grieve

In the next few weeks, we ended in court
Two small children, in a marriage abort
We were asked to choose either Dad or Mum
But we ignored the parent, who went on the run

As we left the court, to start a new life
We felt sorry for Dad, as his illness was rife
He never told us that he was unwell
It would upset one of his boys, as the future will tell

Then came the night all parents dread;
Being told one of his boys is nearly dead
We were going to a boys club, on a Monday night
My brother was running so far out of sight

I turned the corner to see him ahead
No!! he's been hit by a van, Boom's Boom's dead
I ran to my father, sreaming and crying
I'm finding my life,at 7 - far too trying

After the funeral, and with my father unwell
We left Inverness, our eyes a swell
To go as two, and not three as before
It's like Mother Nature closed a door

So we headed west, to a place called Fort William
Was it in the stars, cause Billy " is " William
We moved there, as the air was so pure
Hoping my father will find his cure

For whatever reason, we left the above
We found no Angel or peaceful dove
So we headed back to Inverness
Fathers health decreasing, life still a stress

Over the next few years, i was fostered and loaned
In couples houses and children's homes
It was really strange in all those places
Different people, different faces

Then on the 16th of Feb - 76,
James, i was told, your dads very sick.
The cancer had taken your father away
To be with Billy, where you'll join them one day

In 77, i joined the Navy, as i promised my dad you see.
I did'nt enjoy it, i decided to leave
Back up north, where my futures to be
I wanted to have, what my parents had lost
And that was my aim, no matter the cost

The Best day of My Life

I always thought that I knew love
How intense that feeling could be
But, you were my gift from above
Just exactly what I'd need

I never thought I'd be a mother
I thought that time had past
It was a shock to believe another
For I was pregnant at last

I was 39 at the time
I felt kind of tired and old
My doctor said that I was fine
And a child is precious like gold

It wasnt always very easy
Being pregnant, working each day
Some times I'd get kind of queasy
But, eventually it went away

Tests, ultrasounds, bloodwork , all were fine
An amnio to see if you were okay
Monthly appointments, filled much of my time
Everything was progressing each day

I worked until the day before
Your grandparents flew out to see
I was very ready, couldn't take no more
Wanted my child for just for me

Finally the day had come, when I was to see my son
I got up early, got everything ready, even checked your room.
Slowly I drove to the hospital ,awaiting for the fun
For this was it what I had waited for, i'd see you before noon.

At the hospital they readied me
A Doctor put a catheter in my back
My Mom and Dad rushed up to see
Their grandchild in a wrap

I told them of my nervousness
How I forgot the words to say
So together we as a family
We were able to pray

I had to wait for a long time
Emergency twins were on the way
They said I was next in line
In the holding room was where I stay

So at 930 they brought me in to the room
They draped a sheet in front of my face
I hoped my head wouldn't zoom
I wanted to start this race

At 9:54 you came into my life
Your Dad ran to the end to see
The child that was bore by his wife
We became a family of three

My eyes filled with tears and I felt joy
It was all so new, I never had felt it before
Here's your child, perfect, handsome, and its a boy
For on that day my love for you grew even more

The bond between a mother and son
Is a story that can't be told
To look into your little eyes, I was overcome
My memories of that first time will never get old

So on this day when you had came
Was the best day I could have ever thought
Never mind fortune and fame
To have a child is a lesson in life that can never ever be taught.

Your My Dear Friend

We have been together
treasured joy now for many years
we trust each other with our
emotions, with affection, tears,

Any day when you are sick or hurting
I feel your pain - significant other,
when eighter-one needs attention
we help one another...

These mutual friendly feelings
for assistance, approval, support
form our tight bonds,
usually never broken

Sharing visions, time together
we respect each other,
regardless of shortcomings
I know you, "I love you anyway"

My Dad

My Dad was Chicagoan.
He would light up a room just like my Mom.
He loved to fish ! He loved his beer .
He also designed a Octagon home in the 70's
Built custom by hand . I was very proud of Dad .

Alcohol hit our Family , a curse .
He left my Mom when I was 14 in Illinois.
To renew in California , leaving a trail of tears .
Meeting my step mom , my sisters age .
My 2 sisters they were accepted in her world .

Not I , I looked too much Like Mom . Told this all my Life .
She a petite Beauty , RN , real estate Broker .
I did not see why it was wrong to be like mom ?

I moved in with Dad, His new Wife , and 2 sisters
eventually . All three women were competing for my Father .
I was kicked out at 16 yrs.

Years do pass , you try and accept people places and things .
At the end of Dads life , he was calling me once a week .
I ordered a Engraved Clock for the Fathers day coming.
This was a issue for the Wife and sisters , never invited to his new home , 2 Decades ~My little Brother & I , never wanted .

Dad passed suddenly one sad Spring Day . Not one word from his wife , all 3rd party, how and when, Dad Died . being denied the right to his address , even to say goodbye .
Not being able to send my engraved clock .

"Dad Passed " received call from sister whom just stayed a week with me , I took her all around the sites here . "1st day I get call , you should come , 2nd Day after , Dad's been cremated already . " It was a lie.

I went anyway , finding the funeral home, the Funeral Director was appalled at the denial displayed.

He insisted I was given 10 minutes alone with Dad , my Birthright to say Goodbye , he was in dismay over the Hostility towards a daughter ~

I get to this room of mean relative's. His sisters , Mine, angry looks , hearing from a Aunt "What is she doing Here ! " I can't give nor reason or rhyme.

Shame to you and all that participated that wicked day.
Are you Glorified with Power? Denied the right to grieve ,

Left with no sane answers to give in hatred received by Blood . Some , just Spouses , telling me I had no right to Say Goodbye to my own Father , My DAD .

My Dad wanted me there , I know he did . I love Him and will never forget , his youngest girl whom looked like Mom . I know in my heart and dreams he speaks.
We all see when we leave . May God not allow any Son or Daughter to go through such Evil.

Thank-you Poetry Soup for returning my voice .

It's not a mask,it's my face

I like to wear mask

I wear a mask everyday

This mask I wear for my mom

This mask I wear for my brothers

This mask I wear for my sisters

This mask I wear for my dad

This mask I wear for my aunts

This mask I wear for my cousins

This mask I wear for my uncles

This mask I wear for my grandma

This mask I wear for my grandpa

This mask I wear for friends

This mask I wear for strangers

I've grown so accustomed to wearing a mask, I've even made myself believe it's my face.

It's sometimes painted.

It's sometimes plain

It's sometimes decorated

But even after all that, when the night comes and I'm sitting alone I remove the mask. And out falls everything that I fear.My scars shows. And the darkness finally is let out.

I can cry, silently

My screams are never heard.

But that's alright, as long as everyone else is happy it's fine right?

To be honest, you just sound selfish.

Solipsist

Let the Deicide commence.

You're a voyeur at best!
Your vampiric heart is beating out of your chest!
And you have slayed the ones whom would love you for anything less
Ready to consume the final fragments of innocence,
And for you there is no forgiveness,
On your knees pleading, screaming to a tyrant in the skies;
The father of lies.

I will never be enslaved in your superiority
The people agree: jaded of your false dichotomies.
Know: I will be whomever nature intends to be
Apollo and I will share our dreams,
and you will be forced to see
your failure!

I know who you are...
Readily the first to present your scars
Chained by some despot or mental czar
An emotional homunculus in your mind, behind bars
Reluctant to escape - even when proven fake
Your demented mind - depths no one will penetrate!

...And you see me suffering
Not caring of any casualties
Just as long you recieve your safeguard of sympathy
So very wary of the masses and their Anarchy; Liberious ways

Solipsist - Is there no one you can see?
Even if she was presented burning?
Solipsist - Is there no one you can believe?
Even if Sophia was screaming?
Solipsist - Know you have killed and abused me
Imprisoned in your own personal reality

The Old Salt

The Old Salt was a special man who came along in a time
when he was needed most.

A time that is now gone forever.
When men believed and sacrificed, when hero’s walked the earth in mass.

When patriotism was not just a word
but,
by what men lived and judged the worth of each,
a man who lived a life most of us cannot comprehend.

An era now gone as this warriors tour of duty ends at this station,
and begins anew in the heavenly fleet.

Sail on Sailor into your unaccompanied tour,
we salute you.

What greater honor, that when a man moves forward,
he leaves behind in each of us the best of what he was.

A defender, protector, supporter, victor, a warrior,
the last of the breed from an era when ships were made of wood
and men were made of steel.

The Old Salt has reported for duty that takes him away from us for now.

Those of us who remain behind,
remember, and will continue to remember,
because he now resides forever in our hearts.

As I look up at night, I envision The Old Salt,
a beret draped just above the eye,
as he draws upon his pipe,
quietly he waits.
The guardian of heaven’s gate.

The Rain and Wind

The wind blew events all over the place.
Intense emotions and it gave chase.
Lightning lighting to show us the sky.
People try to sleep and not cry.
Wisping by the wind keeps us awake.
The time trying to sleep the storms take.
Chills in everyone gives all shiver.
The clouds surrounded by moonlight is silver.
Heavenly prayers that the rain will stop.
The flood stopped a car the person in it was a cop.
People have seen such devastation.
The road that people made was week in creation.
Rivers near by was over flowing.
Trees that were there was not showing.
By the hour it claimed many.
My father woke up and did not see any.
Floating by was a boat.
Keeping people above water and a float.
My father kept a canoe.
That some day we would use it, that he knew.
Time to paddle up and down the street.
The rain water kept getting on our seat.
It was so dark after the moon was behind the cloud.
Still the noise of thunder still covered the ears loud.
The smell of moist water never seem to go away.
My brothers seem to still sleep anyway.
My head was bobbing up and down.
I was so tired that I could not hear a sound.
The wind blew back and fourth.
It seems that my mom and dad paddle their worth.
Till all the people we saw with grace.
Help us out with embrace.
The time was so late at night.
Everyone was so sleepy and losing sight.
The fight with the weather was so hectic.
The feelings of energy was electric.
Losing to such natural disaster is hard to understand.
When people working hard to block the river with bags of sand.
With hard workers like my mom and dad.
They make things happen that is not bad.
Rough with weather they experience more than ever.
Leaders they are they are very clever.
From the night light of street lights to the morning glow.
The wind did not stop so.
Bringing in more clouds that ill.
The people who were still tired still had will.
The rush of water and waves blasting push the wall side.
Pushing and the force brought water inside.
The battle of our hour was getting long.
Backup people came to aid us was strong.
Rested they were to keep everyone with hope.
The people stopped the water with the strength of rope.
Heavy rain and loss of homes bring people together.
It is kind of sad that this was the only time to gather.
Chaos comes happiness how true.
This is why we are human that gives us a clue.
It is our nature to keep rain falling.
To know when it is time for our calling.
The winds bring such pain and sorrow.
That is why rain sometimes fallow.

No Job Can't Pay the Bills TRY JESUS

Here I sit, uncertain of what lies ahead.
I’m still wondering how my family will be fed.

I once had a job that provided a sense of “security.”
Now I don’t… And I have a lot of uncertainty!

I have unpaid bills, and I’m not sure what to do.
I’ve asked for help. But not sure who to turn to!

I get discouraged, and feel life “pulling me down.”
I’ve tried just about every job that’s in town.

The dreams I had, have been shattered and smashed.
At times, I feel like I’m just “a piece of trash.”

My wife tried to support me, the best that she can.
But she doesn’t know me… Or even understands!

Dear Jesus… You’re the only left that I haven’t tried.
There’s been many nights I laid awake and cried!

I read in the Bible, where your love for me is real!
When I call on your name... There’s a love I can feel!

Whatever happens, please help me Lord, to trust you!
Whatever tomorrow holds, may I still love you!

I know that you’re a foundation, that I can stand on!
Jesus is a friend! That I can always depend on!

Jesus, if I lose everything that I have or that I hold on to...
My I always remember your faithfulness
 and never forget you!

Here I stand… With my burdens lifted from me!
It’s because of Jesus! And how much he loves me!

I praise HIS name! And lift my hands to the sky!
He’s in control now! I don’t have to ask the reason why!

Jesus… Please take control of my worries and desires!
Above all of my problems, I lift your name up higher!

Grandmother

"A child, more than all other gifts
That earth can offer to declining man,
Brings hope with it, and forward-looking thoughts."

			W. Wordsworth

I am your grandmother.
I spent 24 years making
parenting mistakes, so I think
I'm pretty well trained now,
pretty worn down, open-minded
and accepting.
I think we'll be good friends.

At sixteen, your mother
said she was having a baby
and held up to me the blue pastic
device that tested her urine stream
like when she held up the blue ribbon
she won in kindergarten for the best
easter bunny nest made from marshmallows
and dyed yellow coconut.

Then she threw the blue device out
into the space between us on the bed,
like it was the best card in her deck,
her ace in the hole.
Your father waited in the other room
sitting in the thick silence,
afraid to breathe and miss
my response.

You and your mother did all the work,
but I was there at your birth,
Standing alongside, coaching your
mother to good contractions until
I was exhausted from gritting my
teeth and pushing too.

And your dad was there, too,
but closer to the business end
so he could be the first to know the sex.

An unsolicited psychic had told us
you would be a girl,
and when your dad was told,
he sulked all day
like it was a conspiracy
between the women to produce
only other woman.
He wanted another guy,
someone to give the men the edge,
a male child.

When your mother's body could
keep you from the world no longer,
your head appeared, eyes tightly
shut and a pout on your lips.
Your dad was watching closely,
the shoulder, the belly and then
his arms flew up in the air
like he'd made the touchdown
and he cried, "It's a Boy,
I told you, I told you,"
like he and I had placed a bet.

But then he saw how much
I could love the boy child.

I'm a pretty good grandmother,
and I think we'll be good friends.

Cuddle Babies Replay Memory

I remember the day Trixie died,
Sinbad staring out upon her grave.
No crying, just day after day, homage.

I couldn’t stand seeing the pain,
Nothing I did, petting, holding,
Could bring him away from the grave.

So down to the pet store I drove
Hoping for a partner to please
And found a pair of cuddles, babies

Arms wrapped together in play
One black one orange which should it be?
Orange like Sinbad or black?

But how could I take one from another
Leave another hole, so black and orange
Babies two, drew Sinbad back over

To sleep the peaceful sleep of cuddles
Warmth from another, held like a mother
Or held like a father, Sinbad was mine

Once more we could live in happy cheer
Death deserted from our midst
When the wonder of youth appeared.

What People Were and What People Are

People were
Many things.
Strange or not

People were
Different and
Odd and fun.

People were
Monsters but…
That’s not all

People were
And still are
Strange and odd.

People are
People. For
life is life.

Yet not.
Not is lies.
Truth seeps from

Every mouth
Lies, lies, lies
Move, move, move

But somehow
Lies prevail.
Lies are life.

Lies are death.
Lies are homes.
Lies are pain.

Lies are truth.
Yet somehow.
Truth prevails.

Truth is life.
Truth is death.
Truth is home.

Truth is pain.
Truth is lie.
Truth is that.

Lies will die.
Lies will cease.
Nevermore.

Truth will live.
Truth will be.
Forever.

Oh mum don't kill me

oh mum, don't kill me if you can't afford dowry.
oh mum, don't kill me if you want a boy to birth,
oh mum, throw me alive to live on this earth,
oh mum, don't dig a hole to hide me as indian myth;
oh mum, just educate me then never feel sorry.
i shall serve you as a servant don't feel pain my living,
please ask my brother if he can protect me if dare having.
I can walk on thorns to keep you happy don't cage my
worry,
why is Indian culture don't believe that I am also human?
why is security matter for me as a man is nudity fan?
don't afraid from gangs they are coward can't face a girl,
they can't love to daughter and sisters, looking beauty
pearl,
they kill girls, demanding dowry, live in a cultural
whoolpearl,
when women 'll be free in india that's facing degrading

TO MY DEAREST PARENTS

I was in a big world
wherein there's a crowd in every place
I can go on my own
yet, I go to the repeated phase

There are two most important face
that might makes my life's craze
I might see them as a King and a Queen
in a home where they conquer

It's hard to set aside their commands and demands
even if it is too much, their authority is a must
whether I cooperate or disobey their remarks
they're still around, somewhere, to still keep in touch

so even if those Christian people
keep on telling humanities
about how God created everything
I will always owe my life to my King and Queen,
to my dearest parents.

As A Parent I Want My Kids to Serve God

As A Parent, I Want My Kids to Serve God! As a parent, I’m trying the best that I can…. Though there are things that I don’t understand! I remember my parents teaching me right and wrong. And taught that God’s laws certainly belong! I’ve tried to share these values with my kids too… The choices they’ve made, and the things they do! When situations in life, seem to have changed… I know that my heavenly father remains the same! I think about what in life, to my kids, I have given… And pray they’ll serve God all the days they’re livin’! Even though I’ve failed and stumbled along the way… I hope I’ve taught my kids how important it is to pray! This family that God gave to me, has grown over a period of time. I’m thankful for the opportunity to call them “mine.” I pray they’ll seek God’s guidance! Wherever they go! May the word of God strengthen and nourish their soul! And as my kids get older, and they move out on their own… May they seek God’s love and protection over their home! I pray that my children will give God their very best! May they serve him daily! And let him take care of the rest! I’m trying my best, as a parent, to trust Jesus and believe! His goodness, in our lives, is what we need to achieve! By Jim Pemberton

Imagine This-First Date,First Kiss

I'm painting up my face and nails
with just a touch of teen.
Cos' Mama's inspection never fails;
of child and adult I'm in between.

Daddy answers the door below;
a nervous young man appears.
Glaring with a fatherly glow
dear old dad nearly brought him to tears!

Quickly I brush my hair once more
and down the stairs I fly.
Bye we say and we're out the door;
I swear I saw my mama cry!

Off we go in his silver caddy
and I ask him where we're going.
I'm sweet sixteen and free of Daddy
so I guess my excitement was showing.

To a movie and casual dinner
is what this boy had planned.
I said "sounds like a winner"
and thus the flames were fanned.

He treated me to a burger and fries;
afterwards we shared a kiss.
All you could hear were panting sighs;
my practice pillow never felt like this!

A very special night of firsts-
my first kiss, my first date.
The night rolled on with happy bursts
until it grew to be late.

I never wanted all this to end-
thought I was falling in love!
Impressionable it was easy to send
my heart up to heaven above

And so that was my very first date-
finally at home I did arrive.
Daddy was waiting by the front gate
to make sure his little girl was alive!

In My Community

Our Ancestors fought to the death,
Just so we can live a brighter day,
So before you light up that blunt of meth,
Think about what you’re giving away,
It was a glad day in history when Obama rose to victory,
The first black president was all we knew,
Dark skin is in!
Haven’t you heard?
That even in our community,
You can get burned,
It’s a sad day when people would rather stay home and “Crank That Amber Cole”,
Than get up and run to a poll,
In our community,
Rockin’ Luis V is better than having a college degree,
And teen pregnancy is not only a trend,
But the single motherhood that follows should end,
Young girls learn of a wonderful prince to take them away,
Nothing should change thought their mothers prince didn’t stay,
And as the tears fade away,
She grows stronger every day,
In our community,
Fighting is no longer a word,
You argue with someone and shots are heard,
Girls showing places the sun don’t show,
So how do they expect the community to grow?
Where love is a figment of imagination,
Making a young child question her creation,
Young mothers would rather buy the iPhone 5,
Then satisfy her baby’s cries,
While her new man’s eye,
Wander up another girl’s thighs,
In our community,
Where #team dark skin vs #team light skin,
Makes others not love the skin they’re in,
Love, lust, hate, and trust,
Giving a rose on Valentine’s Day is no longer a must,
Where bad is good and good is bad,
Who would think to see their grandmother sad?
Her hurt and pain,
Shows how our community has lost everything her parents fought to gain.

One Billion Rising

Today we rise.

No more hiding in the shadows,

of culture,
creed,
tradition.

No more silent complicity,

defensive arguments,
sickening pretences,
shabby excuses,

for the actions of men,

brutal and coarse and vulgar and obscene and murderous and abusive.

Today, we rise,

as one.

Today the change starts,

with me,
within me.

Today we rise.

Little Bimbo

Bimbo
A long time ago we had a pet, his name was Little Bimbo
He came to us all bald and crying, his mother he didn’t know.

Our dad had bought him from some kids, who were trying to kill him to eat.
They had killed his mother before, and now they wanted this baby for meat.

Our dad was a strong sailor and it was before the quarantine laws.
He threw the children money, and grabbed the baby’s paws.

Bimbo came to live with us, he lived inside a fireside oven.
You may think we would eat him, but no. it was the warmth that it did govern.

Bimbo grew and played with us like a little brother or sister.
He would hide inside our jumper, if he didn’t like a strange mister.

One day poor Bimbo trapped his tail, it was really quite a shock.
Especially when the vet said, "The rest of it was also for the chop."

Poor Bimbo was now accident prone, his balance he had lost.
He fell into a thorn bush one day and now his sight was lost.

The vet was upset, but not as much as we were on that day.
Our little pet monkey Bimbo was taken far away.

Our mum tried to pretend he was being looked after. and that he was well
We knew the truth when the vet came round, and returned Bimbo’s little Bell.

Something good

The smell of coffee: hot and bitter in the cold winter night
With the rhythm in the left hand and the rhyme in the right,
He wrote a poem in his secret pocket,
A wistful star like a speedy rocket
Ready to leave this planet intense blue
In search of other traces of life anew.
He remembered after mother had died,
In the cold touch ,stalagmites and stalactites cried.
Father and son felt a strong taste for sweets.
As in the sunset, the blind boatman meets
With an awkward touch the water`s ring
But generally they needn`t to eat anything
For a while they rested an extraordinary team:
Father insistently (sometimes boring) told him
All his recollections:childhood, war and the rest…
All muscles and teeth pressed hot, like ice on the crest.
The son learnt them by heart, and later
He would retell them to father, even better…
One was on duty to wash the dishes;
The other tried to follow his wishes…

Their only joy was to read and read and read…
One had to cook at home ,and to bake the bread
In a bread factory:He was happy even when he was sad.
He could recognize each bread: All his loafs were bad.
He was like Chaplin in “New Times”.
He was speaking in figures and rhymes.
He wore a monk beard and father was much more younger.
Looking through the window: grey hunger and anger …

At the weekend, he used to ask his father
About the favourite meal, but rather
He would find a surprise the next day.
Each day was windy winter and grey…

Father had the same touching answer:”Something good”.
In the strange interference ,water and fire ,one was rude.
Solitude was their common friend stealing in like a lizard,
But, in the afternoon they played sweeping their courtyard.
They had leaves in autumn and snow in the winter.
The sky was grey without sun, the clouds were bitter.
Father was counting the leaves, in the old horizon
The son was painting the days ,in the cold horizon.

The war with the falling down leaves fighting hard
With red faces like an inveterate drunkard .
And years after his father met his final hope,
The son would stop in front of the sweets shop ,
Ready to buy recollections as Christmas tree sweets.

MaMa

Mom.
Hey Mom.
Did I tell you I love you?
Well, I do.
Daddy loved you too.
I miss him too Mom.
But this man,
Is not Daddy
And can never replace him.
I know your're lonely,
But Mama he hurts you.
How can you love someone that hurts you?
You cover your bruises with long sleeves and makeup.
You smile in public even though you cry at home.
He comes home from the bar,
And all he does is yell at you.
All he does is yell
And then he hits you,
For no reason.
Mama why do you stay?
Mama your lip,
It's bleeding again.
Come on Mama,
Let's go home.
Our real home,
Where we lived with Daddy.
Him?
He'll never find us there,
Daddy will protect us.
Come on Mama,
WE're gonna go home.

An Old Dirt Road

Long country roads reminds me of home.
Where Mother gardened in her yellow hat
and Dad watching her would smile and at
her laugh, then she would laugh along.

The smell of honeysuckle on the vines and
 Sister reciting her nursery rhymes.
My brother playing alone would dream of
singing country songs, as he would with his
little hands, that ole guitar strum along.

Peaceful feelings this ole dirt road brings
and how I would love to go back home again.
So much has changed in the years that have
passed but when I close my eyes, yesterday
doesn't seem as long ago, as the sound of the
 word, the past.

Running barefoot along the river banks, those
memories will always be a part of me and for
these memories, to my parents, I give thanks.
It has been the greatest gift of all, for now when
life gets to troubling my mind, I find a dirt road
and just drive and go to the river to relive the
loving times we shared and with my children
create our own special moment in time, in hopes
that someday, this with their children they will
 share.

One Last Toast

I think that I shall have a drink
and toast to you and all you think
'bout love & hate & art & war &
what this life is really for.

Giving, taking, making, breaking
lonely hearts club band;
reaching, preaching, teaching, leaching
blood sucking beggars with outstretched hands.

I think that I shall have a stink
and tell the world before I blink
that all is well as well can be
So kiss my glass and bow to me.

Just below my drunken stem
Connected to my brain, my friend
You know the one that makes you bumble
and people laugh each time you stumble.

Down upon your royal spot
Licking your wounds with all you've got
Until you get right back up again
With a head that aches & pounds & spins.

And I think that I shall pour another
in honor of my departed mother
and dad as well who passed away
Here's to where they are today.

Be they high up in the sky
Or somewhere quite unfathomed
Beyond our wildest hopes and dreams
And the completely unimagined.

Where now I reek & no longer speak
from too much of this brew
where the ice is melting rapidly
on folks like me and you.

So one last toast before we're ghosts
and life was a sweet chardonnay...
Here's to those who brought us here
And all their love along the way.

What does a normal teen do? What does a normal teen think?
I really do not no. yes I am a teen but when I was 15 ½ I thought about how to take care of my mom if she needed to be changed and when to feed her and when to give her medication. I worried about what would happen to my mom. I had to go shopping for toddler cloths for my little sister and brother. I am 17 now and I still go shopping for little children cloths. I worry about getting my homework done and getting my little brother and sister’s homework done. This year I have to take the kids to kinder garden and I will be in 12th grade. I always worry about what’s going to happen to my mom she is still sick but there’s nothing I can do just keep her in my heart and prayers. I worry about what I will do when its time for me to go to college I will still be taking care of my brother and sister. There’s a lot to do I worry all the time about money things being washed and cleaning and homework. My dad does a lot for me and my sisters and brothers I just wish my big sisters would have stepped up and helped my dad take care me and my little sister and brother but they didn’t now i am trying to do all the things my mom did. It is a lot of work mothers have to do. I thought it was easy but now that I have to do it all I can say mothers are what keeps a family in order. Thanks to all the moms out there. If you have moms don’t take her for granted because you never know what will happen to them.

Nature's Single Dads - The Australian Emu

Nature’s Single Dad:
The Australian Emu :
The first 55 days

Emund is busy
preparing his
dance-floor for
partners who’ll put
him to the test.
His pedigree line
has proven with time

that it is now his
turn, to be best.
He hears them emerge
from the bush as
they gather in
answer to nature’s
call.
They dance, and then
go away, they know
they cannot stay;
there is not enough
food for them all.

They dip and they
weave as they mingle
together knowing
that each has a
chance
With his reputation,
there is no
hesitation;
he is ready to join
in the dance.
‘Bonk! Bonk,’ comes
the sound of another
arrival, ‘It’s
Emulena!’ he says
with a grin.
Others move to the
side as he leaves
them mid-stride
to greet this dancer
as she flounces in.

With sensuous,
rhythmic movement of
hips she fluffs up
her boa, it bounces
in time.
He matches her mood.
His movements are
smooth
as they twist and
twirl in their
dancing mime.
He does not fuss
about who takes the
lead, he follows and
their dance now is
ending.
With steps that are
light he glides to
the right,
he meets her, bows
deeply, head
bending.

Emulena says,
“Sorry, we cannot
stay longer, we all
must find paddocks
anew.
It matters not
whether we all stay
together,
we trust you to know
what to do.”
As she speaks, they
deposit their gifts,
and he hears, as in
chorus they say,
“We know you’ll do
magically, what you
do naturally
to deliver these in
your own way.”

After completing her
task, Emulena stands
tall and she fluffs
up her feathers once
more.
They follow her lead
in twos, and in
threes,
and promenade across
the dance floor.
Left all alone, he
goes back to his
duties and looks
closely at each pale
green shell.
He checks all for
defects. He sees
they are perfect,
so with care he
covers every one
well.

He sticks to his
task for fifty-five
days in sunshine,
strong winds and
some showers.
He values each
treasure and tends
them with pleasure
as he, turns each
egg every three
hours.
Through his long
lashes he sees
danger coming. He
drops his neck down
like a log.
Feathers flying on
high and red fur
prowls near-by;
he needs to fool
both bird and dog.

The shells have now
turned a dark bluey
green, there’s an
infertile egg in the
batch.
This egg will be
food for his hungry
brood;
but he won’t eat or
drink, ‘til they
hatch.
Each day he looks
up, and turns his

He’ll sit day and

He knows, that time

warning.

Fatherless Child

My journey began on the coldest of days the 28th of december is the birth of my day.
As a baby i dont remember to much , only the warmth of my mother and the strength of her touch.
Mommy says i look just like my daddy ,skinny and tall and always so happy.
If i dont have a daddy , does that make me bad , where is my daddy and why are you sad.
I ask my mommy why is he gone , was it me , did i do something wrong , does he not love me , why did he leave , he will return to us mommy this i believe.
Mommy held me close and kissed my head as the tears fell down with face turned red , mommy tried to speak but had no sound as she fell to the floor and sat on the ground.
Mommy why are you sad , what did i say , can you tell me the reason my dad went away.
Mommy took a breath and began to speak but the sound that came out was a small little squeak. Mommy began again with love in her eye.
I will tell you the truth and never will lie.
Your daddy was a young fearful guy , he made some mistakes and was caught in a lie , daddy cheated on mommy with five other ladies, he was careless and stupid and made five other babies.
Mommy wants you , and loves you , and watched you grow , and will never leave you this she hopes you know.
I know you have questions about your dad , when you think of him you get so sad , I will answer all questions that you have in mind your dad in some ways was one of a kind.
I make this promise always and true my feelings of love are pure and true ,you are my son , my world , my friend i will love you forever there is no end.
(Dedicated to my mother , for not leaving me like my father did.)
(I love you mom always my firend always there for me.)

beware there in

Dad heard a scream from up stairs,
He ran to his son’s rescue and found him in tears.
“What’s the matter son?” Dad gently said,
There’s, there’s a monster in the bathroom and I’m really scared.

“It’s lumpy and hairy with a warts on it legs,”
“And on it’s chest it has what looks like two scrambled eggs”
“It’s belly hangs all the way down to it’s knees
“Daddy, daddy, protect me please!”

“It knows my name, it, it said it through a toothless grin,”
“It’s face is vomit green.”
“Enough,” said Dad smiling, “There’s no such thing.”
A rumbling noise came from the bathroom.
Go see Dad but come back soon.

Dad stood by the bathroom door for a while be fore he went in
And when he opened it his terrified son heard dad scream.
The monster had a huge wart on it’s bum
That's when dad recognized it and said “ Son needs therapy now How could you mum”

Womb for Sale?

Ever since a little child,
Away from the family he was kept,
His protests were ruled out,
Searching for the reason,he silently wept.

No affection, love or bed time stories for him,
Always sad and dejected, his childhood was grim.
He longed for his mother's love, yearned for her time,
Unfulfilled desire of a little boy, what was his crime?

Away from home to Bangalore he was sent,
In a hostel to live alone,he had no intent.
Though dejected initially, he learnt to live alone,
Study ,work and earn, he soon became a gemstone.

Career enhanced and to Mumbai he came,
Appreciated for work, he rose to fame.
He met a girl and friends they became,
Cupid Struck and in love he was lame.

Happily, they decided to tie the knot,
His neglected childhood, he totally forgot.
Happy in love and enjoying his fame,
Life for him became a successful game.

Then one day his mother called,
All his happiness was suddenly stalled.
She demanded his house and his money,
She dictated ... he abandon his honey.

He fought, protested and decided to abandon her,
She said something that made his eyes blur.

"I hate your dad and your handicapped brother,
And sent you away,so I could join you later,
I made dad pay for your education and so you earn
I gave you birth....so now you have to return"

For Anene Booysen 1996 - 2013

Hamba Kahle Anene Booysen! (1996 – 2013)

Dead at 17, brutally raped and left to die,
in the dirt,

at a construction site in Bredasdorp.

‘horrific’, ‘repulsed’,
‘brutally raped’, ‘shocked’,

do these words mean anything,
to anyone,

anymore.

Not to Anene Booysen,

murdered at 17, brutally raped and left to die,

in the dirt,

at a construction site in Bredasdorp.

Anene was raped,
savagely mutilated,

Her 17 year old body tossed aside,

by the hands of men.

Men, always men,

cowardly, beastly, perverted, twisted men.

‘Beastly’, ‘perverted’, ‘twisted’,

do these words mean anything,
to anyone,

anymore.

Not to Anene Booysen,

who now lies cold and dead.

How many Anene Booysens will it take,

for us,
society,
families,
people,

human-beings,

and,

men, especially men,

to excise the ghastly menace,

of the heinous capacity that resides,

within men,

always men,

to brutalise, rape, mutilate, and murder.

‘Brutalise’, ‘murder’, ‘rape’,

do these words mean anything,
to anyone,

anymore.

Not to Anene Booysen,

murdered at 17, brutally raped and left,

to die,

in the dirt,

at a construction site,

in Bredasdorp.

What's Happening to Marriages Today

What’s Happening to Marriages Today?

I was listening to someone just the other day…
And I couldn’t believe what he had to say!

He had left his wife and children for another!
She was young enough to be his daughter!

Here they were, “in love” and holding hands!
Hoping to soon, get their “wedding bands!”

They were pretending that this was so “cool.”
Living now by their own “set of rules!”

How sick and disgusting this is getting to be!
Is this something that many can’t see?

God gave us Adam and Eve to become one.
To bear fruit through daughters and sons!

He gave us marriage as holy vows are made.
Not to march in an “adulterous parade!”

We are treading on very dangerous ground!
Faithfulness and commitment
are scarcely found!

The very definition of marriage is changing!
As the family unit is always rearranging!

Our only hope is in Jesus! And him alone!
Let’s promote his love! Into our hearts and home!

Let’s allow his love to be our heart’s glue!
And bring new meaning to the words; “I love you!”

May his love bind our hearts and lives together!
And remain faithful to each other forever!

A battered old saucepan

It may seem strange to write about a battered old saucepan
but this was no ordinary one
it sprung a leak the other day
sadly without thinking
I threw it away
and now it's gone.

It had been in my family
before I was born
and it was used every day
it broke my heart after
to throw it away.

For all the delicious soups goulash and past
it had contained
the mouth watering delectable smells
from the kitchen
the shouts from my parents

''Come on now set the table dinners made''.

All the red hot broths and porridge we'd scoff
before school on a winters day
all the laughs tears and conversations around
the dinner table before it was was washed
and put away.

It was more than a simple saucepan
because it held a lot of family memories
now my parents sadly passed away
it was one of the last things to remind me
of how things used to be
and mow I have to buy a new one
and accept it's demise
like my family
it's gone forever.

What's Done In Secret Will Come Out In the Open

What’s Done In Secret… Will Come Out In The Open! I’ve read God’s word, and it’s clearly spoken… What’s done in secret… Will come out in the open! I’ve been guilty of this, too many times! I never thought of it, to really be a “crime?” “Nobody’s watching” was the thought pondered… As my mind began to “explore and wander.” It didn’t take long for my life to go “off course.” By a powerful wind of temptation’s force! No matter how many times I took time to pray… This “secret” held on, and wouldn’t go away! I went to church on Sunday and prayed and cried. This “secret” remained, no matter how hard I tried! God told me, I was to give up what surrounded me! This was hard to do, but God was there to help me! Many things I thought I needed, to give me pleasure… Didn’t fulfill the love that God gave! An eternal treasure! As each day passes on… I want to humbly confess… I’m giving my life to God! He’ll take care of the rest! May the Lord Jesus stir a deep passion within… May it be my desire to be more like HIM! God is the God of yesterday, today and tomorrow! I’ve no secrets with him! No more shame or sorrow! Jesus is the Lord of lords! And the King of kings! He’s my lord and savior! My everything! By Jim Pemberton

That's Where The Lord Lives

I walk outside to see all that I can see.
Over there is our house, our home,
In the distance, you can see.
And that place of hallowed happiness
Forever has been our home
And forever will be so evermore.
That house is small but raised us tall,
From the perfect parents who loved us so
To the perfect sister for which every man would want.
The house built us all up strong.
More than a mere building,
It is a place to love and be loved,
A place that hands you hope that you give right back,
And a place of everlasting faith.
This home is where my parents taught me about God
And opened me up to Jesus.
They opened the eyes of the blind for all to see,
And the blind included me.
They taught me to be the best I can be;
The best things in life are free.
They have taught us so well,
And they all have saved my soul.
Even if I am not there now,
I carry Him with me.
I carry them with me.
I carry Their values and Their teachings with me.
In this house, this home,
We reside.
We cannot forget this.
This is where my Mother lives.
This is where my Father lives.
This is where my Sister lives.
This is where We live,
In this loving, caring, beautiful home
They made just for us.
We cannot forget this either.
This is where it all began.
This is where the hunger and thirst was created;
This is where we are fulfilled.
We cannot, we must not forget this:
This is where God lives.
This is where Jesus lives.
This is where The Lord lives;
The Father and The Almighty.
This is where We live;
This is where We reside.
We must not forget this.
We must not forget this:
What a beautiful and perfect life this is.

Kurt

i am kurt daniel everdean
I am 21 years old
I've been playing the bass guitar
Since I was 11
i weight 145 pounds
i have blondish brown hair
and blue eyes

If I could say one thing about me that I like... Its that I never gave up.

things started when i lost my father
i was 10 years old
my mother started going to her room everytime she got home
she would come out with her eyes all red... Shes been crying
until i accidently walked in on her doing drugs
i now believe it was the drugs that caused the redness
me and my brother would fight everynight
when i bought my first bass
he slammed it against the floor
and told me since i think my lifes crap
then i shouldnt have anything that makes me happy
My mom became a street whore
She would dress in a golden gown and wear ugly make up
We would never see her
unless she needed money to get condoms for her "men"

the things between me and my brother got worse
I was arguing with him over a text he sent my mom
And he got into an accident and died that night

Things just never got better
I created a band called the nocturnal
And the reason you haven't heard of us yet
Is because were an underground punk band in Seattle
we haven't gotten far yet
Just underground party's and bars

My mom ended up running away with her "boyfriend"
After my brother died she blamed me
And told me to leave and said she won't come around me
Until I brought him back

Since then I've gotten a job and was able to pay rent on
My moms old apartment
Hoping shed come back clean and sober
As for me
I've cleaned up. but suicide is still an option

I haven't found god yet and I don't want to
If there was a god why did he give me this ****ed up life
Ya you'll say Kurt?... You made the desicions for your life
I knolw I did. But he was the one who let it actually happen

I've been writing since I was 11
Lyrics and poems
Drawings and paintings
bass guitar and vocals

My life isn't over
But it's sure close to it

Its sad to think that what you thought was fake... Is a true story

They Left so Abruptly

They Left so Abruptly

(for the countless South Africans, of all colours, who dedicated their lives for freedom and democracy)

the valiant ones
countless
many known
many more nameless

the truest sons and singers
husbands and poets
lovers and wives
daughters and farmers
workers and sisters
brothers and friends

they left so abruptly
with quiet pride
steely courage
gentle dignity

they left so abruptly
leaving us our tomorrows
brighter
hopeful
filled with promise

they left so abruptly
so that we may breathe
the breath of liberty
the air of freedom
the warmth of justice

they left so abruptly
leaving with us their parting gift

freedom
inkululeko
swatantrata
liberte
azadi
vhudilangi
libertad

they left so abruptly
yet we remember them all
today
in the days that slipped away
and in the many more that we await

they left so abruptly
yet they remain
hewed into our memories
etched in our consciences
engraved in our hearts
they left so abruptly
and yet they endure
with us
within us
now and forever more

Attitude

My dad always told me,
Your attitude determines your altitude,
How high will you go?
My answer then was I don’t know.

My mom always stated,
Do your best and the rest will be handled,
And don’t let people burn you like a candle.
Those statements were a hard pill to swallow.
Especially when our day to day lives often
Cause us to encounter beings whose hearts are hollow.

Whether it is positive or negative,
Your attitude is a true description of you.
Your actions speak louder than words.
People are people so what should it be?
You and I should get along not terribly,
But work together in harmony.

My mom and dad were right.
Just because someone may deliberately hurt you,
You can’t always come back with a fight.
That person may be doing that in spite,
Because they wish they were you,
And to himself, he is being untrue.

Now I know where I’m going,
To altitudes of extreme positive magnitudes,
To places I have never seen,
And doing things that I never dreamed,
That I would do.

It’s not easy to let go of things of the past.
That may have shifted you to a magnitude of negative.
You have to add that the situation did not cause death.
Let it go, in other words, subtract it, and it will be handled
So you will not be burned like a candle.

Your attitude is a true description of you.
Your actions speak louder than words.
People are people so what should it be?
You and I should get along not terribly,
But work together in harmony.

Mother's Day is Here

it is Mothers’ Day
and all they wanted is a flower
for their mother but guards
will not accept flowers in the facility

maybe a card with a word or two may do
to tell her how much they love her

there’s nothing much to add
except to say they miss her

she has been away for decades now
birthdays weddings have come and gone
many births and deaths came and left
without a word from her

and they too have grown up
without her a deadness around their lives

maybe a card with a word or two
can tell her how they wished
she were at the window peeping
to see them sleeping nicely

An Adulterous Situation

An Adulterous Situation I knew of a couple, involved in an adulterous situation. A person involved, claimed that he was a Christian! He told others that he wanted to tell her about the Lord… But this involvement in sin, he couldn’t well “afford!” A “casual” encounter led to the marriage’s destruction. Her husband was so hurt, he could hardly “function.” How could this man think there’s “nothing wrong with it.” “It must be fine.” He thought. “everyone’s doing it!” Jesus has come, that we might have freedom from within! Going to church, doesn’t give us a “license to sin!” God gave us marriage, as a holy and divine covenant! He gave us his word, so that our lives can be abundant! May this be a stern warning to one and all! That which may look attractive, will cause us to fall! If there’s something more from marriage that you desire… Be careful! Your deep passions will burn like a fire! May I encourage you to pray and seek the Lord above! And ask him to build your marriage on his love! Only he can restore everything the enemy has taken! He’ll be with you, when you may feel totally forsaken! Adultery is like a cancer cell… That will eventually destroy! It’ll rob you of the many blessings, that God wants you to enjoy! What God has joined as one... May there be no separation! But a heart of unselfishness, and a renewed dedication! By Jim Pemberton

Many Families Are In Difficult Situations

I’ve seen many families in difficult situations!
Often ending up in lies and false accusations!

I’ve seen many families stray way off course…
And tragically, often, end up in a divorce!

I’ve seen the hardships that many families endure.
Their faith has often been shaken.
 That’s for sure!

I’ve seen many families trying to give 100 percent.
And then wondering where all of their time went!

I’ve seen all these things happening
 and much more!
I have wondered; “what is all of this happening for?”

I’ve just one thing to say in this “chaotic confusion.”
Only the blood of Jesus gives
 any hope or solution!

It’s only in his word, we’ll find a godly direction!
His Holy Spirit can give true and loving correction!

May we seek his spirit to bind us all together!
And pray for his blood for our protection forever!

Please come Lord Jesus, and refresh our soul!
We need you right now, to make us whole!

Please touch our heart, and make us all one!
And heal every father, mother, daughter and son!

Please help us to watch what we’ll do and say!
You can turn our darkest night
 into the brightest day!

Letter to Mum and Dad

Letter to Mum and Dad

Dear Mum, Dear Dad, you're gone from my life.
I remember you now as a good husband and wife.
Dad, I saw you lay there. Lifeless, quite still.
The shocks that they gave you, zapped at my will.

When I touched you, your body, still warm, lips blue.
A far cry from the father, the man I once knew.
Your cheeks in contrast, stood out, quite bold.
Your hand I touched. That memory I hold.

Mum, I never saw you, when you passed away.
You were alone in your bed, so it's for you that I pray.
I remember you most, for the love that you gave me.
Always caring, never judging, I wished I could save thee.

Now that you're gone, I don't feel alone.
You're the best parents in life, this child could have known.
So it's with you in memory, my life has begun.
I remain as always, your ever loving son.

I Hate

I hate the birth mark under my right eye
I hate my extremely static hair
I hate my big bottom lip
I hate my spotty nose

I hate that I have really *****y times
I hate that people only remember me for my really *****y times
I hate that the real *****es hate me
I hate being cautious so they don’t ***** about me

I hate that I cry over everything
I hate that people know I cry over everything
I hate that I hide from them anyway
I hate that they actually don’t care

I hate the fact that my brother is leaving home next year
I hate the fact that I cried when he told me that
I hate the fact that I hid my tears from him
I hate the fact that he’s all I really have left

I hate my father for making me feel like he doesn’t care about me
I hate my mother for making me feel like she picked him over me
I hate that my brother had to look after me when they couldn’t be bothered
I hate that, in my eyes, they don’t deserve to be called mum and dad

I hate that when I was younger I had to run away from my father
I hate that my mother and brother left me by myself that day
I hate that they left me closer to my father
I hate that they went somewhere I would have felt safer

I hate that I feel like my friends are slowly fading away from me
I hate that I feel like I’m a third wheel
I hate that I feel like my friend’s don’t trust me
I hate that I feel like I can’t trust my friends

I hate the feeling of loneliness
I hate that I read books to escape to a world better than mine
I hate that I write to create a better life than my own
I hate that people want to invade that one heaven I invented

I hate that people ask me why I made Katy Clover Taylor
I hate that I had to make a role model for myself
I hate that she is the person I desperately want to be
I hate that she is the one thing I will never live up to

I hate that I feel like my grades would grasp my families attention
I hate that feeling of disappointment when I get a bad grade
I hate feeling like I have to live up to an expectation to hold their attention
I hate that I am relied on because of my grades

I hate that I am an older mind trapped in a younger body
I hate that I am limited in what I can do because of my age
I hate not being trusted upon
I hate people treating me as a kid

I hate not telling people how I feel
I hate hiding behind an invisible barrier
I hate not being able to share how I feel with people
I hate being scared that they won’t care.

I hate people judging me
I hate judging people
I hate that feeling of giving up
I hate the feeling of losing when I didn’t give up

I hate the choices I have made
I hate that nobody thinks I can live up to my dream
I hate people thinking they are so much better than me
I hate the fact that they are right

I hate that I will never make a good girlfriend
I hate the fact I know nobody would fall for me
I hate knowing that no one would help me pick up my life
I hate that it has fallen apart

I hate hurting the people I love
I hate them not loving me anymore
I hate knowing that what I would do would hurt people
I hate the fact I do it anyway

I hate knowing that I do all of this
I hate knowing I hate all of this
I hate trying to change it
I hate that I am not able to change it

I hate that I try not to give up hope
I hate knowing all hope is lost
I hate that I still try and cling to it anyway
I hate knowing I failed at that too

But most of all

I hate not being able to express this until now
I hate that this still won’t change a thing
I hate thinking that it still might
I hate knowing that no one cares

LET ME SLEEP

I sleep so can I dream

to find me in a world I can be

to play with my dad while

My mom waits for me

with several cups of tea

Distant relations I not even know

Childhood friends forgotten long ago

tug along and raise a lot of cheer

I find myself cocooned

in the midst of near and dear

God wakes me to the reality of hell

O’ No! I want to sleep for ever

and stay in my happy dreams

As I stand near the grave

I shoo away the birds around

My dad is dreaming deep inside

Leave me at peace, let me sleep

Fifty-Seven Years Ago Today

Fifty-Seven Years Ago Today

With new dress and suit, flowers, and hair fixed just right
The dreams, plans, and labors of our lives would unite

My brother and his gal stood beside us on the spot
To give witness to the world that we tied the knot

We stood nervous before the preacher at his home
Promised to cling to each other; never to roam

Said “I do” to the questions; gave the preacher his pay
Man and wife; fifty-seven years ago today.

A chance to say goodbye

There once was a woman
that was a wife and a mother
who one day got sick
then called and cried to her brother

She was alone at the docters
when she found out about the cancer
she called her family right away
but nobody would answer

The woman was so scared
she was only 25
when she found out that she had
not much time to be alive

The woman wasnt happy
about living her last days
she did not know how to react
she just sat there in a gaze

as day by day went by
she was more then fun and flirty
till she died on Christmas Eve
at excatly 11:30

As the family cried and cried
the oldest son scremed "why
why did she have to leave us
without even saying bye"

as he cried himself to sleep that night
she talked to him through dreams
she said
"son im very sorry that I had to go and leave"

she said she really loved him
and that she really cared
about how he went through life
without seeing his mother there

He said he loved her so
with his great big giant heart
and that nothing will ever keep
him and his mother apart

When he awoke the next morning
he told his dad about his dream
about seeing his mother happy
as happy as can be

The father said "thats good son
that you got rid of all this pain
in just one night of sleep
now look how much you've gained"

The son just flashed a smile
he new his dad did not understand
that he got his chance to say goodbye
and let go of his mothers hand

Are We Being Driven to God's Elimination

Are We Being Driven to God’s Elimination? In the names of diversity and anti-discrimination. It’s like we’re being driven to God’s elimination! God is being “forced” from many institutions! All in the name of this country’s constitution! We’re told that God and this country must be “separated.” Anything less is what many would call; “discriminated.” Any forms of Godly virtues or values are “torn down.” Any symbol of a cross, is often “removed from the town.” It’s no wonder that this country’s in such a big mess! And yet this country wants to be strong and blessed? “What shall the righteous do if the foundations are destroyed?” Meanwhile, the tide of ungodliness, is often “enjoyed.” Those who are trying to remove God! You must beware! His judgment is soon coming! And will catch you unaware! There’s will come a day! When God’s wrath you will endure! The wages of sin is death! This is very true and sure! People may think that removing God is the “thing to do.” Anyone who attempts to do will wind up as “a fool.” Only God can fill the void in life and true love within! Only he has the power to free your soul from sin! The words; “in God we trust,” in our lives must be applied! Everything we’ll ever need… God has supplied! God is this country’s hope! It’s only true foundation! We need HIM right now! To come and heal our nation! By Jim Pemberton

The Best Christmas Present That I've Ever Received

For the last two Christmases, I have grieved.
But in 2012 my friend gave me the best Christmas present that I've ever received.
She gave me a ride to Sneedville so that I could spend Christmas with Mom and Dad.
I was a very fortunate person but sadly, just several months later I lost what I had.
I had no idea that within a matter of months that both Mom and Dad would both be dead.
I spent the last Christmas with my parents, there would be no Christmases ahead.
If Tammy hadn't given me that ride, I wouldn't have been able to be with Mom and Dad on Christmas.
This time of the year is no longer easy for me because what happened filled my heart with darkness.

My Barbie dolls are growing old.
My first bike is growing rusty.
My little shoes now pinch my toes
and carry big boxes with ease.
I can reach the cupboards,
and I've learnt how to blow my nose.
I read long books by myself,
and can count by twelve.
I walk to the bus alone now,
Without holding hands.
I eat all my vegtables without being told,
And I've learned how to spell 'hundred'.
My legs may reach farther,
and I may walk longer,
but I will always stay close.
I will always be your little girl.
Always need you.
You will always be my family.
My mother, my father.
Always.

A Young Man With A Heavy Load

A Young Man With A Heavy Load… I was watching a young man walking down my road. I could tell that he was sad, and carrying a “heavy load.” You see his dad had recently “up and left the home.” Now he and his mom were left all alone! I could tell it was hard for him to hold back the tears. Especially after being with his dad for so many years! I don’t think that parents think about what they say and do. They can hurt and betray the one who said; “I love YOU!” When this happens… I know that the heart of God is hurting.. Too many couples are together, but their eyes “keep flirting.” They feel happy to have a family, but soon it’s not enough… And quickly run out when things get “tough.” The dishonesty, lying and cheating are too commonplace… I’ve seen the heartache and pain upon a loved one’s face. Jesus knows all about the hurt and pain that this can cause. He also knows about the “friction” caused by the “in-laws.” For the one that may be thinking of leaving his or her family… You may think it’s fun now… But you’re not going to be happy! Whatever is tugging at your heart now may seem “appealing.” But it’s the love from your spouse and kids that you’re stealing! I challenge you to be the man or woman of God he wants you to be! You need to be with the family God gave you! Can’t you see??? Come on back and spend the quality time you need to spend. Your family and children need you both as a parent and a friend! Allow the love of Jesus Christ to bind your hearts together! May his peace and joy comfort you now and forever! Allow your home to be filled with the love of God’s precious son! May be bring your family together in unity… As ONE! By Jim Pemberton

Mindful Thoughts from My Head

thoughts
How often I’ve thought , I’ll just stay in bed...
But that’s for sick folks my mother said
So I’ll just linger a little while...
And let my memories make me smile..
My mother was strong and rather petite.....
And my father so strict...and yet so sweet..
They knew how difficult life could be...
And passed that on to my siblings and me....
As they had experience throughout their life..
With all the usual stress and strife..
And the pair of them taught us all so well....
Though the way we act sometimes you couldn’t tell..
The lessons we learn from our parents you see...
Are what makes us special like you and me..
And as we grow and make our own way...
Leaving our homeland so far away....
Years later returning to the place where we were born...
To scatter their ashes amongst the Rose garden thorn...
Was across the sea we had to go..
The memories were already starting to flow...
As we stood outside of the garden gate....
We heard Mother’s voice, so articulate...
“ tea’s ready “....and Dad said I hope it’s Earl Grey...
It was then we realized this was the day..
As they were gone and you can never go back..
So we must face the fact....
Our mind plays the movies in our head...
So with that in mind .. guess I’d better get out of bed.....
earl grey tea

Angel Baby

Babies are born everyday, some stay, and the others god takes away without
a warning leaving us in shambles and dismay. We ask as parents why does god
give and then take away?

God, our hearts are broken, our bodies are beaten, our mind is in shock and
confusion. We ask our father in heaven, why is it that we have to pay for
someone else penilty, for someone else retribution, for this is not a fair
contribution.

My child of your children, for this is not a conviction. Let your healing began for
this was not because of your sin. Your child joins me in heaven, the place of the
forgiven. The place where wings are given.

For I am your child, for I know I was loved, the lord has chosen me from up
above. Don't cry mommy, don't cry daddy one day with out a maybe you will be
able to hold your angel baby.

Heroin

I am 18 years old
I just found out that I spend most of my time sleeping,
I am obsessed with it.
I have lived for 9,460,800 minutes
Most of which I waste on sleep
Sleeping is my personal heroin,
It lets my arms as a pair of wings to fly me to paradise.
When I want to escape from reality,
I shoot it up my veins.

One day, my mom was chatting with her friends,
When they discussed my studies,
I looked down at my shoes while their children smiled smugly.
Their smiles struck my wings like lighting
The path to my paradise began to disappear
I thought I could use my broken wings to open their eyes
so that they would see my true face
But this was just my imagination
I needed a hit so bad that I slept for 3 days
Feeling likes a puppet, no pain as my strings are pulled
My dream leads me into that sense again,
I looked at their lips and heard their words, proudly I say to her friends, “I am better than your child.”
When I awake, I feel my emotions flood back to me stronger than before

When I was in high school,
I worked so hard but I still couldn’t achieve a score to be proud of
When I see my father’s rough hands, I am shamed by my B Grade Paper.
Then I begin to think what I can do for him,
I ask: “DAD! Can I go to get a part-time job?

“No, getting back to your studies!”

I prepared to take another shot of heroin
To help me pretend as if nothing happened
I used to think that sleeping would solve my ailments
    But I realized
I realized that I am escaping
Like boxers hide behind their gloves
Like timid warriors escape from the battlefields

These years, I am search in for peace
But opiate feeling blinds my eyes

Mother

Mother why did u leave
To live in the sky
Mother did you know
You forget to say goodbye

And when I’m sick
And cover in bed
Who will give me medicine?
And kiss my head

Mother did you see me
How much I cry
Father said its god will
To make you die

If god loves us all
Why did he take your life?
Away from your little boy
Who is only five?

Mother did you see me
My first day in school
Mother I comb my hear so nice
And I look so cool

Dad says you watching me
Mother can you see what I do
Dad says I look
Everything like you

And when dad takes me to the park
And kids are their mommy
I cry in side for you
But never let dad see

Mommy I am so scared
Why did you had to go
I keep praying that you will
Come back home tomorrow

But I know you are in heaven
Dad says you’re an angel
So I wall always be good
So one day will join you as well

Mother please looks over me
Your little boy is so alone
And if get a chance to leave heaven
Please come back home

One December Night (Continuation 1)

One December Night (Continuation 1)

Before they could get to the front door to see, their dad shouted down, “Don't go there.
Let me!” “Wait children.” he said from the top of the stairs. You girls go and sit at the table
in your chairs.” “Why are you up and playing about?” Those are the words Father asked in a
shout., Quickly, he walked down those stairs on that night to see what was there outside in
the moonlight.
The girls in their chairs looked away from Dad's glares. And in the next moment, Mother
bounced downstairs, too. She had heard all of the ruckus and scampering around. But
she had not yet heard the loud kazoo sound. She saw the girls sitting at the table with the
kitten.
“Come to the kitchen.” Their mother said. Let's have some cookies and gingerbread.
After making hot chocolate, she continued to say, “We can look at the stars. Honey, come
show
us mars!” They sat at the table underneath a skylight. Hot chocolate and cookies were
already in sight.
But before they could take their very first bite, the door flew open. Oh, what a fright!
There silhouetted in the light of the bright glowing moon, the bumpy old toad stood, humming
a tune. And right beside him close to his feet was a bright brown sack with a blinking red
bow. “Merry Christmas.” he said, as he walked right on in. He sounded like Santa and he
had a big grin.
But they did not know him. He wasn't their friend. What should they do? For whom
should they send? He wanted to stay. They thought he should go. What would they do?
They did not know.
In the very next moment, he took out his kazoo! “A Kazoo! A Kazoo! I knew.” shouted
Sue. He pulled up a chair. They started to stare. He sat down at the table, the best he was
able. A frog at the table! Whoever heard of such? And Dad did not like it. Oh, no, not
very much! The frog there beside them at the table where they munch. Picked up a cookie
and ate it with a crunch. It should not be so. Let everyone know. That bumpy old frog
simply must go!
Dad started to tell him to get out of their house. But about that time across the floor ran
a mouse. So, Dad grabbed the broom and chased the mouse about. While the frog at the
table calmed the children's frantic shouts.

It wasn't me

This was inspired by a wonderful poem I read earlier today on the Forum 'Look what
followed me home' by Paula Swanson.

Hey mom it really wasn’t me, I’m not responsible for that,
Just because I’m the only one here, It could have been the cat.
Of course I went to school today, I‘m not inclined to roam.
Just don’t repeat awful words , ‘Wait till your Dad gets home’

‘So, someone must have done it, I don’t see what gives,
No I don’t know who it could have been, I can’t say where he lives.
It wasn’t me, it was like that when , it must have just fell down
Someone must have eaten it, when no-one was around.’

‘I’ll mow the lawn, I’ll paint the fence, I’ll tidy up my room,
I’ll take the garbage to the bin, my rescued dog I’ll groom.
Your staring eyes and plucked out hair are scaring me now Mom
Oh please don’t tell and please don’t say, ‘Wait till your Dad gets home’

Mom I love you

Mom I love you

I called my mother last night
And she was not feeling well
Thought she didn’t say it
But by her voice I can tell

I felt so heart broken
Wish there is something I can do
The only thing came to mind
Was to say mom I love you

And it had me thinking
As I sat there for a while
How many sleepless nights she spend
Taking care of me as a child

Wish I could give her the world
What good would that do?
So I wipe a tear from my eyes
And said mom I love you

I know she is grieving
Since my father died
And thought the pains keeps growing
She never let it show out side

She would talk about my father
And stare in the sky that blue
And she gets lost for words
So I said mom dad love you

I know one day the call will come
That she had join my father too
And as we lay her to rest
I will say mom I love you

So if you are one of the blessed
To have your parents with you
It would make them so happy
To hear you say I love you

The things our parents done for us
And they never let us knew
So lets us all thank them
By saying mom and dad I love you

Babies and Kids Struggles

Everyone in the world thinks babies and kids have no struggles we are wrong.
We forget the hardest times of our lives is when we were infant our hearts beat a song.
When we were hungry we would cry, little hands could not grab anything that lye.
We had help to hold our bottles and we felt so helpless in our everyday struggles.
Our eyes did not open till the time that we were able we saw everything huge in size.
It made our heart throb fast and nothing made sense for all the words were gurgles.
The little ears we had we did stress with sound so loud and so unknown made us cry.
The fathers and mothers with kind word almost calmed us while they whispered.
They held us with fear, we had fear just knowing that we could not handle stress alone.
We grabbed things and we just wanted to hear the heart beat of our mom and dad.
That was the only thing in our minds that made us calm and glad.
The first touch of rough skin and strong hands were most comforting, yet scary at once.
Trust gradually grew when whipped our mess and hind ends, which were still scary.
To the large people out there the mind of a child is so simple but they still struggle.
They still need food, love and security that is all they need to grow.
To their lives is what they cling and no one is there to protect them from sorrow.
There are less fortunate kids that never get to hear their mothers and fathers hearts.
They soon empathize with everything around them with an emotion that struggles.
When sleeping on our own we cannot defend ourselves so we have fears.
That's why we cry nightly to sigh relief, we get exhausted and we run out of tears.
Remember the times you seen a child fall down their first step or bump into things.
It is scary when knowledge is lacking and get into things, which are a signs of struggles.
Children is future, it is nice to just watch them study, play and learn who they are.
Babies and Kids smiling, playing loud, and just sitting, they are still people they struggle.

MAY OF '75

It All Started May 2, 1975
The Day This Man
Took This Woman
To Be His Lawfully Wedded Wife

They Saw Their Share Of Struggles,Grief, Hardships, and Strife
But Hand In Hand
They Faced The World
Together
This Man And His Wife

The Cards Were Stacked Against Them
An Uphill Battle It Often Seemed
They Did Not Have A Fairytale
But In The End
Love Would Prevail
Between This Woman And This Man

Thirty Years They Shared Together
For Richer Or For Poorer
In Sickness And In Health
In Good Times And In Bad
Before This Man Would Pass Away
Right In Front Of His Wife

How Would This Woman Go On
Not Knowing What To Do
How To Make A Single Cup Of Coffee
Or Just One Plate Of Food
How Could She Bare Waking Up To An Empty Room

She Grieved Tirelessly
She Often Questioned Why
Why She Had Been Left Behind
This Woman Who For Thirty Years
Had Been This Man's Wife

She Had To Find Her Strength Within
And Her Will To Go On
She Had To Comfort Her Children
And Learn To Lean On God

Although She Never Stopped Loving This Man
Eventually
She Would Find Peace
Though It Was Not Easy
She Learned To Live Life Without Him
Though It Was Never Part Of The Plan
On That Day In Early May of 1975
When These Two Were Wed
This Man And His Wife

Sometimes Things Will Happen
Even Though We Did Not Plan
Things We Can Not Fathom
Things We Will Never Understand

The Time Came
Two Short Years Later
When The Doctors Came
And Told This Woman
We Are Sorry
It Is CANCER

Now The Children
Of This Man And His Wife
Would Have To Find Their Own Answers
With No Parents Their To Guide Them
Give Them Comfort
Or Advice
They Would Be Left With Their Own Questions
Of How...
And WHY...

Bittersweet

So on this day 6 years ago a child was born,
my precious daughter, who deep inside still mourns.

Although she is young she will always be sad,
knowing the one that is not home is her dad.

There's said to always be a special connection between daughter and father,
but this has been taken away by a mother and when it comes to our marriage, won't even bother.

Will she feel blame in the years to come?
That her mother and fathers marriage has come undone.

I can only hope that she dose not harbor anger at her parents,
mom and dad apart adds to the torment.

For my part I never wanted it to be this way for her,
I'm nothing more that a memory to mother and daughter.

So on this day I remember seeing my child's first breath of air,
now all I can see is a girl that mom and dad must share.

On this day life is bittersweet, cause I am no longer part of home,
another day of celebration with me left all alone.

Kids

As a dad of three I’ve got your measure
We love you protect you give us lots of pleasure
But……mums and dads aren’t as daft as you think we are
Dads give us a fiver and ill wash your car
Mum….can I take a couple of pounds out of the copper jar

My car barely sees water and a sponge because it’s too much mither
And the copper jar that held a tenner now holds just a fiver
And so it goes on

Dad….can I stay out as long as Paul his dad lets him stay out till eleven
A quick call to Paul’s dad guess what Pauls in at seven
We love you dearly but you kids think were daft
But were on to you it’s almost become a craft

And the classic dad can I have my pocket money mums give her last to my brother
A quick word with mum reveals you’ve just had a tenner
Me and your mum we do talk to each other
Clean your room up I’ve asked you 4 times if you don’t that’s it your grounded I said
I’ve done it dad you tell me I go check it’s clean but it’s all under your bed
That’s it your grounded
Toys out of pram and don’t give me that look
You know the one open mouthed astounded
You see mums and dads aren’t daft it’s all part of the game
But…..through all your tantrums and tears
We still love you all the same

At Home for the Weekend

Mother smells like an old kitchen sponge
Father sips coffee from his chipped mug
Faye hums a melody searching for rhythm
The old dog lying on his back fully exposed
I should visit more often
As I left my feet for Faye to sweep
I fold the newspaper in halve
The kitchen table's front left leg
Is supported by an old dictionary
And the conversation is lost for words.

Please Read About My Echo

We spoke today,
and we haven't spoken in a while,
Mom is in the bedroom,
                                     and Dad in the basement,

I'm on the bed- crying like a child,
and although all windows are shut,
a wind filters in,
bringing in
that old echo
                       the silent echo,
of cemetaries,
when the dead echo their name,
abuse, abuse, abuse,
"we lived once and were children,
but then we were abused,
and became
                    adults",

so I'm crying like a child,
and know abuse,
but life went on and scars
                                         were fused,

refused to let the pain sink in,
and abused my verse,
and never wrote with my own hand
just a dead man's eyes
and the hatred of my father
                                             who knew abuse,

and gave it like a regifted toaster at a wedding,
a toast that's burnt with obligation,
and consistency, always burnt,
                                                abused, crushed, ashes

as those cherished china vases where the dead poets
smugly held their noses high as I sniffed their poetry,
laid to rest in that cemetary where the wind blew,
and came home,
and left a gentle music as I spoke with my mom,
and my dad stayed in the basement and pretended he cared I was home,
and I'm not crying anymore,
because we heard the echo and didn't ignore it today.

SOMEWHERE TO CALL HOME

SOMEWHERE TO CALL HOME
There are a lot of firsts in a child’s life that we all might forget
The first time they say Mom or Dad,
Feeling all the ooh’s and aah’s.
The first time that they hold your hand,
The feeling goes right to your heart.
You know that this child is blood right from the start.

The hardest time in a Child’s life,
is when they think all is lost.
Feeling left behind and all alone and abandoned,
and looking for somewhere to call home.
To know the feeling of being someone special,
then have it ripped away,
all they will feel is being alone.
Every time they look behind there is an empty spot.
When the people they know as Mom and Dad are there,
they are never alone.

But, when a child comes around and is not of your blood,
the love they need is just the seed.
Just the feeling of the two figures called Mom and Dad
to look up to means a lot to them.
For a child to call out Mom and Dad,
and hear no sound is very sad.

Who ever said that these kids are nothing,
there is something very wrong in their minds.
They have been looking for somewhere to call home
for such a very long time.
They don’t ask for much just a place to belong,
no matter how long it takes.

After so long your kids get old,
and go away without looking back,
no hugs or kisses in sight.
Your life void of the words Mom and Dad,
that they will never say tonight.

To adopt a child and give them life and hope,
To put the laughter back in their voice,
and the twinkle back in their eyes,
to finally hear the words Mom and Dad is the ultimate surprise.

Dear Mom And Dad

Are you the same mom and dad
I used to know?
Since I left the house…
many years ago?

Both who carefully taught
me the Christian ways.
Don’t seem to care
what the Bible says.

You were there to give correction
with a belt in hand.
But now are doing things…
 I don’t understand.

What happened to the father’s love
I once seen in your eyes?
You’ve somehow twisted God's
truth into corruptible lies.

You’ve broken my heart
dear mom and dad.
I’m praying for you…
but my heart grows sad.

Please… Just this once…
 Listen to me!
I want the Godly parents
you used to be!

Please make me proud of the
parents I once knew.
And know that I really love
and appreciate you.

You’re my mom and dad…
You’re the world to me.
And you’re special to God...
It’s plain to see!

May your days be blessed and
God’s presence fill your soul.
I will always love you no matter
where you may go.

Thanks mom and dad for reading
this “special letter.”
With God on board…
Things will get better!

Next Sunday after luncheon

Each Sunday after luncheon
As long as it’s not cold
My parents have their little walk
Although they’re getting old

It’s their routine, they’ve done it
Ever since I was a lad
Each Sunday after luncheon
Just me and Mum and Dad

At three o’clock they like to stop
To have a cup of tea
A sticky bun for Dad and Mum
A sticky bun for me

We’ll sit down by the bandstand
To have our little snack
Then when they’re done, my Dad and Mum
Its time drive them back

I drop them off at four o’clock
And see them safely in
I say goodbye Mum starts to cry
“We will do this again?”

I tell them I will call them
And we’ll have a little talk
Then, next Sunday after luncheon
We’ll all go out for our walk

8 Years of hell

I try to imagine what life was like for my mother,
being beaten by the man she loved,
I'm not talking about a slap here or there,
I'm talking beaten within an inch of her life.

I always remember smelling blood,
and the mess that was left behind,
every time my Dad would get in that groove,
where he'd just loose his mind.

I don't remember a lot,
a lot happened before I was five,
but my Mother had no troubling tell me though,
I was the reason she went back most the time.

We lived in a house of fear,
silently we would sit,
trying not to make a noise,
otherwise Dad would have another fit.

Even I suffered from his wrath,
apparently he would punch me across the room,
my Mother would try to protect me,
but she'd get a hiding too.

8 years of hell, she finally left,
the courage she found to run inside,
tired of being a gang members Missus,
she ran so she could have a life.

Are We Being Driven to God's Elimination

Are We Being Driven to God’s Elimination? In the names of diversity and anti-discrimination. It’s like we’re being driven to God’s elimination! God is being “forced” from many institutions! All in the name of this country’s constitution! We’re told that God and this country must be “separated.” Anything less is what many would call; “discriminated.” Any forms of Godly virtues or values are “torn down.” Any symbol of a cross is often “removed from the town.” It’s no wonder that this country’s in such a big mess! Only God has the power to free your soul from sin! The words; “in God we trust,” in our lives must be applied! Everything we’ll ever need… God has supplied! God is this country’s hope! It’s only true foundation! We need HIM right now! To come and heal our nation! By Jim Pemberton

I'm Not Ready Part 1

Mother:

Shivering nights follow me as my stomach grows

I feel her inside me

I can picture her face, smile, personality

Worth such a huge future

But I couldn’t give it to her

I’m not ready…

He doesn’t want her

We couldn’t handle it

The pressure, the responsibility

And god the things that are happening to my body

I’m not ready

I’m not

My mom cries whenever she looks at me

My dad doesn’t even look

I couldn’t take care of her by myself

Maybe…maybe I can give her away

To a family that could love her until I’m ready

There’s so much I haven’t done

Goals I haven’t fulfilled

All my dreams are gone

Because of a mistake

A onetime mistake

I learned my lesson

But I can’t take care of this baby

She needs so much more,

She deserves so much more

I can’t let her come into this world like this

I’m not ready

Daughter:

Its ok mommy

You don’t have to worry

You’re not alone

I still love you

You can still follow your dreams if you try

And teach me how to do right

I’m going to be a sweet baby

People are going to call me your twin

Don’t you like the sound of that mommy?

I promise to do my best in everything

So I can make you proud mommy

When I come

We’ll have each other

And that’s all that's going to matter

We’ll prove everyone wrong

And do better than anyone expected

We can do it mommy

You can do it

I believe in you

Mother:

I can’t do this

I can’t

I’ll try again when I’m ready

It’s not even alive yet

So it’ll be ok

He said he would leave me

My dad said I was stupid

And my mom…

She had such high hopes and dreams for me

I can still do it

I can make them proud

But not with this thing growing in me

It’s ok

It can’t feel anything

And later on ill be the best mother ever

But not now

I’m not ready

Mom I love you

Mom I love you

I called my mother last night
And she was not feeling well
Thought she didn’t say it
But by her voice I can tell

I felt so heart broken
Wish there is something I can do
The only thing came to mind
Was to say mom I love you

And it had me thinking
As I sat there for a while
How many sleepless nights she spend
Taking care of me as a child

Wish I could give her the world
What good would that do?
So I wipe a tear from my eyes
And said mom I love you

I know she is grieving
Since my father died
And thought the pains keeps growing
She never let it show out side

She would talk about my father
And stare in the sky that blue
And she gets lost for words
So I said mom dad love you

I know one day the call will come
That she had join my father too
And as we lay her to rest
I will say mom I love you

So if you are one of the blessed
To have your parents with you
It would make them so happy
To hear you say I love you

The things our parents done for us
And they never let us knew
So lets us all thank them
By saying mom and dad I love you

ABUSIVE LIFE

Abusive Life

This poem tells a story,
And provides no excuse,
For a well known crime,
That’s called child abuse.

I was slapped in the face,
And from the table I flew,
Most times I was beat,
Until black and blue.

When I got bad grades like an F or a D,
I’d sit in the schoolyard and cry,
I knew I’d be punished when I got home from school,
And I never understood why?

My sister and I would hide upstairs,
As my step dad and mother would fight,
Punch after punch my step dad would throw,
I wanted to run but where could I go?

My mother would call the police on him,
They would arrest him just for the night,
Next morning would find him back at the house,
Ready and willing to fight.

Yes I had a childhood of fears,
Lots of abuse and plenty of tears,
Not enough love, and plenty of hate;
To be an adult I just couldn’t wait.

I grew up thinking I would be free.
But the spirit of abuse it followed me.
I was mean to my wife, and then I would leave,
One time I left on Christmas Eve.

I pray my children can find a way,
To break the cycle you see,
To be good parents and not be abusive,
And someday forgive their Daddy.

Now as my tears fall on this page.
I’ll say goodbye to all the rage,
Cause Jesus now controls my life,
I finally love my kids and wife.

Now spirit of abuse I speak to you,
In the name of Jesus you are thru,
So get under my feet, and out of my face,
Return to the devil, cause hell is your place.

Life to Live Part 1

I used to think that life was a joke.
When I was 9 I started to smoke.
When I was 11 I began to drink.
But as I got older I began to think
I started thinking about what I wanted to do and what I had to give.
But then I realized I had a long life to live.
At age 13 I started to fight for no good reason.
Thanks to my dad and my anger,
I got kicked out of school for the rest of the season.
Not long after, my mom and my dad were separated,
By this time, my anger had very well escalated.
I was baker-acted for making threats in 1999.
Threatening take everyone’s life, including mine.
I hated it! I hated my life in every way.
I always stayed in the house.
I never wanted to play.
After being home schooled for two years,
It was time to go to High School my dear.
My mother appraised me, she said I would to fine.
Oops! My Bad. I got suspended 22 times.
I got baker acted again and I caught a charge.
A charge that landed me straight behind bars.
I was on probation and violated constantly.
For once the only thing I wanted was to be free.
At age 15 I was in a program locked in a cell.
Oh boy! How fun! I had my 16th Birthday in jail.
It took 11 months and 11 days to get my act straight and learn better ways.
January 16,2004 I was free once again,
To be locked up no more.
3 days after I was 17 and free from being locked down,
My mother tells me I’m off probation now.
Now that I’ve told you what I’ve been through,
Its time for me to tell you about what I plan to do.
This is what I plan to do with my life.
To make good decisions and to do what’s right.
I plan to continue to go to school.
No more days of trying to play cool.
I am who I am not to pretend.
The way I think of it, in my life I need no fake friends.
People think I’m crazy for my plan to succeed.
Its my choice if I want to be a part of the city police.
I want to major in Criminal Justice to become a lawyer or be apart of the law.
I have came a very long way and have left so many people in awe.
People think of me as a misbehaved, disturbed little child.
But look at how far I made it. Even though it took a while.
When I was younger, I was wild.
But to all who doubted me, I hope I made you proud.
See the effort that I chose to give.
And all this was to earn a better life to live.

A Mothers Love

It seems like only yesterday that you were just born,
And there I was holding you all bundled up and warm.

I was so happy to just to see you had ten little fingers and toes.
It was even harder to imagine you having your fathers nose.

Before I knew it the first day of school came and went,
And on our refrigerator were all the pictures your teacher sent.

Then all of a sudden, with the blink of an eye,
You were off to your prom and so proud were your dad and I.

When college came we hardly saw you, except for a weekend or two.
And even in those short times together you said " Mom and Dad, I really
enjoy being with you."

Then your father cried the day you came home and said Dad this
is who I'm going to marry.
As you paused awhile you looked at me and said I have to accept it
but its alittle scary.

Now its time for you to have a baby,a little angel from up above.
And with this I know now from the bottom of my heart we've come full circle,
For this is a mothers love.

Before I was born

I'd like to imagine, a time before I was born,
life for my parents was breezy,
going out with each other, exploring the world,
living a care free, just living it easy.

My Dad being a romantic,
all the things he would do,
to entice my Mothers affections,
all the things you do when you woo.

So happy they would have been,
passionately living there life,
but this is only a dream,
I know what happened in real life.

My Dad was a beaten severely as a child,
giving away in his teens,
again he suffered by the hands of someone else,
who could never control themselves.

When he was right he was wrong,
when he was wrong he was wronger,
there nothing he could do to avoid it all,
in the end he too had a violent hand.

My Mother came form a broken home,
her brothers and sisters she had to help raise,
all because her mother found someone else,
and decided to run away.

Before her Mother left, she was really strict,
in which she'd beat her badly, with a washing stick,
then being sexually abused, which added to her fuse,
an angry women she turned into too.

Maybe they were destined by fate,
to meet each other on that day,
that instant attraction, lead to one night of passion,
and at 15 she gave birth to me.

Our little girl

I'm sorry that you were left alone,
your mum and dad left you.
But the mother that you once had,
she was my mother too.

Still a child myself i took you in,
our daughter you would be.
We love you so much in the world,
and i hope this you can see.

Orphened at only two years old,
it had to be hard for you.
But i hope now you are older sweetheart,
you know...
Me and dad always did our best by you.

To Love Again

The day dad went HOME to be with JESUS,
was a very difficult one for you.

You were happy to know he was no longer suffering,
on the other hand, your heart was broken too.

You were together for many years.
You both had your ups and your downs.

Now that he was gone, you felt lost inside.
You didn't know what you would do without dad around.

The years went by. JESUS was there to comfort you.
THE LORD filled the emptiness you had in your heart.

You knew that one day, you would be reunited with dad again,
and then you would never be apart.

You said, never again.
Never again will I love another man like I love your dad.

We told you, don't ever say that, you never know.
GOD might have another plan.

HE DID!

THE LORD gave you a blessing.
HE gave you another companion and a friend.

HE knew what would be best for you.
HE wanted you to love again!

nothing to say.

As I sit and write I find it hard to tell-a story of a man a story hard to sell
as a child fatherless was his greatest gift -you see his mother was both, as if
through good times and bad-the woman alway made him fill he had a dad
stand strong, stand tall- loving words she gave as she never would crawl,
she knew her fillings she could never show-you see tears were never part as you know,
she worked hard and did her best-but time after time life brought her a test,
he left when the forth was three months old-days were hot as the nights were cold
another man leaves another child-yet she was positive always with a smile,
seven kids she gave life-seven kids yet left lonely and cold ...the forgotten wife,
poverty and cancer were her biggest fights-I think it was loneliness in the night,
as her kids grew and left her alone-most cried about there dad never being home,
with there life's lost in regret-one moved forward giving her the up most respect,
time went on as her eyes faded like night-he could see she no longer wanted to fight,
she dried her tears and put on that smile-you know son I felt this way for awhile,
listening to her he seen life took it's toll-his mom his light grew old,
as tears fell from all eyes- lying her to rest he remembered being by her side,
he found happiness as the birds carried her away-moms gone to a better place today
no more tears no more lonely nights-looking around he seen this was now there fight,
they all raged and cried-not this one he had opened up his eyes,
to this day there still looking-for him his life was her smile and up he was looking,
years have past and came the news-the eldest father was ill and dew,
as they asked with remorse-he never bated an eye he never lost changed course,
it may sound mean even a bit cold-but you see his dad passed as the story told,
only one made him who he is-she rest above with a smile just like his,
he has no regret or anger-he didn't know the man who was his father,
nothing bad to say nothing good-she was my dad and this I understood.

Mom and Dad

I hate to be sad
When I think of my mom and dad.

I hate to shed a tear
Cause losing them was my greatest fear.

But there gone now, nothing I can do
So when I get mad, I just want to tell them forget you.

But I cant cause there my mom and dad
I love them a lot even if they make me mad.

I feel so lonely and also lost
Cause everyone I loved turned a round and got lost.

I don't know if I’m wrong or if I’m right
But for them ill put up a strong and long fight.

Dear mom and dad hear me shout
Cause you both not being here what's that all about.

Are you going to leave me again or are you coming back
Is it you or is it me, cause I think its something I lack.

I’m missing you both a lot
Please tell me you haven't forgot
You have a daughter that needs you
And also loves you a lot.

If you both love me as you say you do
And if I did well, would you do the same too.

Don’t forget you have a fourteen-year-old daughter
Who needs a proper mother and a proper father.

My Little Boy

You've had this dream from the time you could talk.
You wanted to be like your dad and chose the path he walked.
I thought you had forgotten and changed your mind..
Oh, but no you only were waiting for the right time.
I watched you grow up and I hoped and prayed,
I'd never have to say good bye to you one day.
How I wish your dad were here.
To see you go is too much to bear
And now you're going off too...
Dear Lord please don't let me lose you too.
Please watch over my boy and keep him safe while he's away
And bring him back home again one day.
He smiles and turns and waves his hand
And for that moment ,he's my little boy again.
I sit and read his letters over and over again
And he ends each one with don't worry mom I'll be home soon,
But he doesn't say when.
I hold his picture close to me.
His father would be so proud of the man he came to be.
And so I wait patiently,
For that little boy to come home to me.

Mother and Dad

Mother was a beautiful soul. I miss her so.
Mother was a beautiful woman and girl, go
On and on I could. I would but there's Dad.
Most of the time he was happy, sometimes sad.
His big belly would belly laugh, grinning ear to ear.
I hear his booming voice still in the still of night tears.
Creeping out of house, quiet as a church mouse
To walk and talk with friends. Coming into house
One night, Dad offered to make me some pancakes.
He thought I had insomnia. I didn't corrrect his mistake.
Mother let me walk around the block smoking my cigarette.
Been doing it for forty-three years without any regret.
Mother would hide in the kitchen pantry to be funny.
She lived in Jacksonville, Florida - so warm and sunny.
She'd cook the most wonderful buffet dinners.
She was no sinner. Just a winner. My dad too.
He taught me how to tie my shoes and beat the blues.
He taught me how to tell time and do chores for a dime.
Childhood was a wonderful time for me. I was freedom.
Kingdom comes, wonderful things come to those who wait.
At the Golden Gate I will see Saint Peter, Jesus and God.
My body is bread, my blood is wine. No shrine have I built.
I have sinned. I have grinned. My life is without any guilt.
One brother was born of my Mother and Dad. I'm glad
I had the chance to love him with all my heart before he
Passed on. He's with Mother and Dad now. I'm still me.
A new family with kids and grandkids, a husband, father.
On my new journey now, I will go ever farther and farther.

A Mother Never Sleeps

Nothin like a road trip
In the middle of the night
Josh was hitch hiking
Him and his dad got into a fight

How did I find out...
He's my son's best friend
Another adopted son of mine
My love has no end

11pm
In my sleeping attire
I head north for two hours
Blood pressure getting higher

He waited in a parking lot
I told him this to shall pass
Turned him around then
Kicked him in the a--!

I do not allow hitch hiking
No matter where you are
Now get in the truck
Vegas and my son isn't too far

His dad is an alcoholic
Means words are all he can say
Josh told him he needs help
He's hurting the kids each and every day

A bruise on his cheek
From a punch from his dad
He didn't what to hear what was said
For alcohol sees no bad

Driving two hours south now
Just a couple of his bags in tow
Bought him a ticket at the airport
At 6:20am, off to Vegas he goes

5am, Headin due east
Coffee in hand
Sammi and Vicky calls
They're buried in the sand

Out four wheelin'
With no spot light to see
Now I'm gathering up 2x4, chains, shovels
Trying to find them in ebony

Two trucks isn't enough
We went to get more
Finally got it out
Im' going to bed...can't take anymore

Good night!
