Brother Of The Quill

Brother of the Quill
Join me in a dance
For mother sings nightly
And father sleeps within a trance
Deerskin feet
they'll never hear our steps
Through hemlock and the fields of wheat
All night long we will dance
Moon Mother lights our way
And our ancestors shine as bright stars
We will run as the wolves
And sing from our hearts
Brother of the Quill
Join me in a prance
We will shoot stars with our arrows
And wish for another dance
Deerskin tents
They'll never hear the swish
Of when we sneak back in
And fall asleep before Father wakes again

My Micke boys

                To be called ..
            ~ Grandma is a Honor ~

I have been blessed with 4 Grandchildren

~ one lays in Heaven " Kaleb " He is God's Angel ~
~ His twin brother he will always watch over , and be in his soul~

For he loved his Brother so much in the womb ,
he chose Heaven which gave life to his twin
~ I feel his spirit when I see the other Grandson ~

Time passed another gift to see
we are " Mickes" and Loved
Our Dad held the title in Baseball
                   ~ that's how we roll ~
           those children are Grandmas hero's

The Irish they love big and Family is everything
The brothers will protect the beautiful sister
~ as many lads will be calling ~

Every time my Grandson hits a home run
There will be a Angel watching proudly in the stand

It will be as if the Angel lifted him when he runs
~no one runs faster then my Grandson~
either baseball or Art ~ you shall find your gift given

                These children have been blessed~
~ a beauty to hard to describe
If you think not ~~ Take a look at the Mom
                     That girl can stop Traffic
                    after raising three and still~

"Inspired by the gift and loss of Grandchildren "

May our precious " Kaleb " softly rest where Angels only Dwell

Since First I Saw You

Since first I saw you, it was your eyes,
mesmerizing, your gaze transporting
me to a realm, not of fantasy, real,
where young men go when cupid’s
arrow takes root.

Since first I saw you, it was your lips,
captivating, holding me frozen
in anticipation of our lips brushing
for the first time.

Since first I saw you, it was your voice,
a crescendo, light, invigorating,
each word you speak intensifies
my hearing, enveloping each
note, time ceases as I hang motionless
savoring, memorizing.

Since first I saw you, it was your hair,
long, flowing, gently rising above
your shoulders as a slight breeze
passes through sending waves
of your essence my way.
The sun magnifying each strand,
highlighting the minute
variances of invigorating color,
creating a halo effect, a portrait of
your beauty forever imprinted.

Since first I saw you, It was you,
my love forever more for you,
only you.

BROTHER - BILLY

It started growing in a field
Billy Stover watched it grow

Because the corn was tall
Because Billy Stover was small
No one knew
Now one saw

No one saw how the tiny boy watched by the hour in summer's heat
Even from the top of high elm trees by the road
who could have detected that small lad stretched out
on his stomach leaning on his elbows watching

On stormy days Billy watched from the closest window
elbows propped up on the sill
He knew it was growing though he couldn't see it
He'd be down in the field now in the mud watching
    but his mother forbade it
"What do you do out there Billy all by yourself?
What is it you do out there instead of playing?"

On certain days when the wind swayed the green stalks
and nipped Billy's cheeks his eyes would light up
He fought back a burning desire to run into the white kitchen
to tug at his mother's apron to bring her out
and show her his one spot
He jumped up once when the flames leaped high
    started running for the house
"Mother! Mother!" he silently shouted
Every part of his small body shook with joy but
The bleak white walls of the kitchen
his mother her hands dipped in bread dough....................................

It started growing in the field in the dirt in the mind of Billy Stover
And no one could have kept a secret better than Billy

Marble in Columns on Green

On a slope graced with green
White marble stands in proud salute

For beneath these engraved pillars of memory
Lie the resting places of heroes

A solitary green fir looks down
As if sheltering the lost and the taken

So many names, from all walks of life
A father, brother a girlfriend or wife

On a sunny day, they glow radiant like their lives
On a dull day, they stand out against the greys

For the living, life goes on
Tomorrow is another day

halloween

The howls of the wolfs strike the beast beneath the bed it roars
For it’s the full moon to night Scary of course
The little kid crawls out the bed to go to the toilet that night
When he thinks of the witches and the beasts that bit
He steps back into bed when he gets a horrible frit
A ghost comes out the cupboard a skeleton from beneath the bed
A monster comes through the door way that he thinks will eat his head
A witch hackles from in his draws and then he fins out
It’s his sister his brother his mother and his father all messing about
From beneath the bed his brother with a skeleton mask
Well in his cupboard his father with out a doubt
From in his draws his sister the smell little brat
From under the door way his mother of course he did say note
What he did was put his hand in his desk grab a water gun and squirted them all and his mum
He felt kind of stupid much more then he did before
When he found out it was is nan and granddad how organized it all

The Wily Goat

The purple on his chin was tellin'
there was just no use to lie.
That pesky, good for nothin' goat
had eaten Mother's pie.
She had set it on the porch
jist to cool it down a bit,
and don't you know that goat had come
and calmly eaten it.

My little brother looked as if
he was inclined to cry.
They'd warned him things
would have to change
or Billy Goat would die.
I got a rag to help him scrub
that bright dye off his whisker.
He could appeal to Mom's good side,
but didn't want to risk her.

That goat had climbed on everythin'
from our new car to house.
He'd eaten nightshirts off the line.
No wonder Mom would grouse.
I'll kill that goat", our mother said
a dozen time or so.
Of course she didn't mean it but
our brother didn't know.

Now little brother'd come along
when most of us were growed.
He never seem to learn the ways
the rest of us all knowed.
He didn't learn to work around
our mama's laws and such.
He had no wiles to pertect him.
His goat was sure in dutch.

Bein' so much younger must be tough
and not too easy sailin'.
His best friend was this pesky goat
and that was fast a failin'.
He guessed the only way to go
was take his goat and run.
He didn't think to take a coat
and weinies and a bun.

The rest of us when we run off,
we knowed enough to take
some warm clothes and some
sandwitches 'n even choclit cake.
We were all scared when brother
didn't turn up for a meal
and we could see the worry our
mama began to feel.

So Daddy got his good horse Dan
and took the dogs along,
and said he'd just go scout him out;
be sure nothin' was wrong.
It seemed a good long time before
we saw Dad ridin' back
with somethin' on his saddle.
It looked much like a sack.

But it was our little brother
and he was sound asleep.
Dad found him in the orchard
with apples in a heap.
His cunnin' goat had climbed up
in the ole apple tree
and flung down the ripe apples,
as nimble as can be.

So brother wasn' hungry
but he was mighty weary.
Our mother grabbed him in her arms
and all of us were teary.
That wily goat was smart enough
to prove himself a winner.
He'd saved our brother and himself
from becoming our goat dinner.

" The Life Of Me " page 1 of 2

My name is James, born 1961
In Inverness, a small Scots town
To my father Andrew, and my mother Beryl
And Billy my brother, a pair of devils

In 67, we woke one night
Our house was ablaze, full of orange light
Our neighbour next door, for whatever reason
Started a fire, it must be crazy season

We had too move to a caravan park
By this time it,s three, to make a new start
My mother Beryl decide to leave
But the three of us left, never bothered to grieve

In the next few weeks, we ended in court
Two small children, in a marriage abort
We were asked to choose either Dad or Mum
But we ignored the parent, who went on the run

As we left the court, to start a new life
We felt sorry for Dad, as his illness was rife
He never told us that he was unwell
It would upset one of his boys, as the future will tell

Then came the night all parents dread;
Being told one of his boys is nearly dead
We were going to a boys club, on a Monday night
My brother was running so far out of sight

I turned the corner to see him ahead
No!! he's been hit by a van, Boom's Boom's dead
I ran to my father, sreaming and crying
I'm finding my life,at 7 - far too trying

After the funeral, and with my father unwell
We left Inverness, our eyes a swell
To go as two, and not three as before
It's like Mother Nature closed a door

So we headed west, to a place called Fort William
Was it in the stars, cause Billy " is " William
We moved there, as the air was so pure
Hoping my father will find his cure

For whatever reason, we left the above
We found no Angel or peaceful dove
So we headed back to Inverness
Fathers health decreasing, life still a stress

Over the next few years, i was fostered and loaned
In couples houses and children's homes
It was really strange in all those places
Different people, different faces

Then on the 16th of Feb - 76,
James, i was told, your dads very sick.
The cancer had taken your father away
To be with Billy, where you'll join them one day

In 77, i joined the Navy, as i promised my dad you see.
I did'nt enjoy it, i decided to leave
Back up north, where my futures to be
I wanted to have, what my parents had lost
And that was my aim, no matter the cost

The Two

It was the summer of 1938 when the whisper of fate broke through the airless
night,
And two curious children got to their feet the little girl knew something was not
right.
Little Jack the baby, stood in the middle of the room, the dirt floor cool on his bare
feet,
his sister did not stand, but walked over to the screen door unmindful of the
Texas heat.

Who told the girl what happened? Could it be that angles spoke softly in her
small ear?
She looked at her little brother Jack, and told him what she knew, in her voice
was no fear.
“It’s daddy you know, he’s not coming back Jackie” she said in a quietly hushed
tone.
Little Jack was so young, and he didn’t understand. But daddy, he never did
come home.

Their mother you see neither one can truly recall, maybe for them she never
really was,
She walked through their lives on a stage of drama never doing the things a
mother does.
But they remember the rainy day in a town that is now gone, when daddy was laid
to rest,
Their mother you see showed up late, in a new car and wearing her brand new
Sunday best.

The Two though they went on, as children do. The little girl mothering her little
brother Jack.
So small and alone, they looked for food in the trash the little girl with her brother
on her back.
Mother was there somewhere, laughing in the dark secrecy, loving what men
could provide.
The children to her became baggage, inconvenient, a hindrance that she just
could not abide.

Some in the town began to take pity, watching the rag dolls as they walked
through the street,
When evening fell the town went home, so did the Two in their frayed clothes and
bare little feet.
But time can bring sweet escape, and that came to the Two through the blessing
of a new life,
It was their fate not to grow up together, one knowing peace the other life colored
with strife.

But the Two would meet through out the years for their destiny is intertwined in
blood and history,
Time marched on and as they now age they share in each others lives, a lasting
bond and mystery.
She can no longer carry Jack on her back, but she has always carried him in her
heart and mind,
And to Jack, his sister has always been more than words can explain, more than
most will ever find.

Hugs

Teenage Girls clad in the latest fashions,
Do it whenever they meet,
Grown men aren't afraid to show some passion,
When their team's comeback is complete,
They can say hello, they can say goodbye,
And anything inbetween,
If you open your arms and crack a smile,
There is nothing that a hug cannot mean.

I'm Going Home

,

Lord thank you for this life,
As I have lived a full life,
It was not always as I would have like,
But I lived it to the best of what I could,
I’m going home; Home to the place I want to be,
I’m going home to Jesus where He waits for me,
I have been a long weary believer,
As I’ve been away to long,
I now know what I’ve been searching for,
As He's been there in me all along,
I’m going home; Home is the place I want to be,
I’m going home to Jesus where He waits for me,
I have been and seen lots of places in life’s journey,
Now I yearn for familiar faces in familiar places,
I hear familiar voices calling me to come home,
I see familiar faces looking at me,
I’m going home; Home is the place I want to be,
I’m going home to Jesus where He waits for me,
My time is near, the hour I know not,
I see Jesus' face across the Heaven’s,
I hear His soft sweet voice calling me home,
I can’t wait for my real life to begin,
I’m going home; Home is the place I want to be,
I’m going home to Jesus where He waits for me.

My Dad

My Dad was Chicagoan.
He would light up a room just like my Mom.
He loved to fish ! He loved his beer .
He also designed a Octagon home in the 70's
Built custom by hand . I was very proud of Dad .

Alcohol hit our Family , a curse .
He left my Mom when I was 14 in Illinois.
To renew in California , leaving a trail of tears .
Meeting my step mom , my sisters age .
My 2 sisters they were accepted in her world .

Not I , I looked too much Like Mom . Told this all my Life .
She a petite Beauty , RN , real estate Broker .
I did not see why it was wrong to be like mom ?

I moved in with Dad, His new Wife , and 2 sisters
eventually . All three women were competing for my Father .
I was kicked out at 16 yrs.

Years do pass , you try and accept people places and things .
At the end of Dads life , he was calling me once a week .
I ordered a Engraved Clock for the Fathers day coming.
This was a issue for the Wife and sisters , never invited to his new home , 2 Decades ~My little Brother & I , never wanted .

Dad passed suddenly one sad Spring Day . Not one word from his wife , all 3rd party, how and when, Dad Died . being denied the right to his address , even to say goodbye .
Not being able to send my engraved clock .

"Dad Passed " received call from sister whom just stayed a week with me , I took her all around the sites here . "1st day I get call , you should come , 2nd Day after , Dad's been cremated already . " It was a lie.

I went anyway , finding the funeral home, the Funeral Director was appalled at the denial displayed.

He insisted I was given 10 minutes alone with Dad , my Birthright to say Goodbye , he was in dismay over the Hostility towards a daughter ~

I get to this room of mean relative's. His sisters , Mine, angry looks , hearing from a Aunt "What is she doing Here ! " I can't give nor reason or rhyme.

Shame to you and all that participated that wicked day.
Are you Glorified with Power? Denied the right to grieve ,

Left with no sane answers to give in hatred received by Blood . Some , just Spouses , telling me I had no right to Say Goodbye to my own Father , My DAD .

My Dad wanted me there , I know he did . I love Him and will never forget , his youngest girl whom looked like Mom . I know in my heart and dreams he speaks.
We all see when we leave . May God not allow any Son or Daughter to go through such Evil.

Thank-you Poetry Soup for returning my voice .

It's not a mask,it's my face

I like to wear mask

I wear a mask everyday

This mask I wear for my mom

This mask I wear for my brothers

This mask I wear for my sisters

This mask I wear for my dad

This mask I wear for my aunts

This mask I wear for my cousins

This mask I wear for my uncles

This mask I wear for my grandma

This mask I wear for my grandpa

This mask I wear for friends

This mask I wear for strangers

I've grown so accustomed to wearing a mask, I've even made myself believe it's my face.

It's sometimes painted.

It's sometimes plain

It's sometimes decorated

But even after all that, when the night comes and I'm sitting alone I remove the mask. And out falls everything that I fear.My scars shows. And the darkness finally is let out.

I can cry, silently

My screams are never heard.

But that's alright, as long as everyone else is happy it's fine right?

To be honest, you just sound selfish.

Did The Lord Build Your House

Did The Lord Build Your House? This house of ours is “plain.” But is still standing. We’re “simple folks...” By many people’s understanding… We may not have much of what is “socially appealing”… But we have love in our hearts. And this is a good feeling! We may not be “wrapped up” in much of this world’s entertainment. But we seek God’s peace and a desire for contentment. We, as a family, have one purpose and “calling” in mind. To seek God’s ways of being merciful and kind… Each day we pray with much thankfulness in our hearts… For this is where happiness and gratitude starts! We’re thankful to the Lord for his unfailing grace… And for keeping us together in this special place… We’re blessed to have a God who is truly worth finding. His word in our lives is precious and worth memorizing! “Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain that build it!” God must rule and reign… So his love can completely fill it! ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

Final Adieu

Let another sun set,
Let another flower wilt,
Let another autumn cast its gloom,
Let another tear role,
As ye part, and bid
The final adieu.

In Loving Memory Of My Grandma

Hold your head up, Grandma would say
and let me pull your hair from your face.
Stand up tall and properly, for a lady
it should look as though it comes naturally.

Oh Grandma, I would say. I just want to go
and with the boys play. I want to fish and
shoot marbles too and maybe some baseball,
 if Bobby doesn't come too.

Who is Bobby, she said. Just a boy who doesn't
like girls who with their brothers hang.
Well maybe Bobby is right and a lovely girl
such as you, shouldn't be talking such slang.

I long to be where the boys are for they have
so much fun, it beats cooking and knitting
silly hats and gloves. Give it time and you
will see, she said, that being a lady is what
God has meant for you to be.

I would lay awake each night as I grew and I
dreamed of the places my brothers seen
and Bobby too. I always knew when they were
to return home for most often it was when the
 cherry blossoms scented the lawn.

Then there came that Spring day when all of them
came home late, but all I could see was
 Bobby standing at gate.
My heart did flutter and my cheeks, I knew were
flushed. I never knew I had also missed Bobby
 just as much.

It has been 4 years now and I still wear Bobby's ring and
two beautiful children that in cherry blossoms we play.
I often think back to what Grandma said and I understand
now every word that still echo's in my head .
I think Grandma's have an inside tip
for she already knew the plan, before I did.

I will always love you Grandma.

Viking Death Prayer

With raised sword and shield,
The Norseman yells to Odin
The Viking Death Prayer*

 *  The Viking Death Prayer

Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother,
My sisters and my brothers.
Lo, there do I see the line of my people,
Back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me,
They bid me take my place among them
In the Halls of Valhalla,
Where the brave shall live forever,
Where thine enemies have been vanquished,
Nor shall we mourn but rejoice,
For those who have died
The glorious death.

One,Two,Three

I'm dreaming with mother
I'm dancing with father
i'm laughing with brother
i'm dressing up with sister
i'm sitting in grandfather's lap
i'm talking to grandmother
i'm singing with auntie
i'm helping unlce
i'm dressing cousin
One by one
Two and two
Three to four
There is no war, that can tear me from you
Five by five
Six and six
Seven to eight
This was the last memory I have of you all.Catch me,free me,bring me back to life, watch over me,and set peace over my head.
Nine by nine
Ten and ten
Eleven to twelve
What more could I'll tell you? Did you not hear the words that came from my mouth as I ran toward you?
One by two
Three and four
Five to six
Catch me when I fall.
Free me from my chains.
Bring me back to life and away from the grave.
Watch over me while I walk through this valley of the ignorant and dead.
Set the peace over my head, that i may control what fury I carry inside.
Seven by eight

Should we use are words and speak and use are actions and break one another? What reason could we show if we lose part in memories that were so perfect and harmless.

I Know Of Someone Holding Unforgiveness

I Know of Someone Holding Unforgiveness! I know of someone holding unforgiveness! This has led to a life of much bitterness! Toward his brother, he’s held on to a grudge. From his viewpoint, he won’t even “budge.” No matter what God’s word has clearly spoken… He’s walked with a heart that’s been broken! His son prayed that God would speak to him! That he would forgive, so God could heal him! Forgiveness is a powerful thing to do! If you want God’s mercy to flow through you! We’re not called to “hold back,” the love God’s given! Through Christ shed blood… We’re all forgiven! May the love of Christ come and touch us! It’s no secret how much God really loves us! Please come Lord Jesus! And touch our soul! May we express your love, wherever we go! May God’s gentle love, be what always binds us! HIS words; “love one another,” do remind us! By Jim Pemberton

We Need To Honor Our Parents

May We Honor Our Parents…

I know of many parents who tried their best to raise their kids.
Many of their hearts cry because of how their children live.

There’s many who’ve tried to teach their children God’s holy ways.
What was taught, seems to be lost… In a matter of days.

Many parent’s pray for their children’s lives.
Many of their children choosing to live a life of “lies.”

Scripture says to honor our parents,
that our days may be long.
But any kind of honor to them…,
Many feel doesn’t belong!

The advice and warnings from parents
seem to be ignored.
Many of their children say they’re
“too old fashioned and bored.”

There’s a message for the young people that needs to be clear!
You need to honor your parents!
 One day they shall “disappear!”

God gave us the parents we have,
whether we accept this or not.
We need to think about the things that our parents taught!

May we seek to live lives that will bring honor and grace.
In our hearts, may we keep our parents in a “special place!”

May we share from our hearts, the love our lord has given!
May we share his love while
 our parents are still livin’!

The love we can give our parents is a treasure untold!
The gift of having parents is more precious than gold!

Witnesses To Sinners

I can't hear the words as they come from my mouth
I can't hear the screams as they work their way out
As I write all is seen is a blur and blank moment and
Once recovered sensed the words were written, not
Even a look to see what was written only to know it
Was there.Sleepless night, taunt filled faces horde my
Dreams.Have this made me fall so low no longer am I
Am I able to stand on my own to feet. How many times
Will you make me cry before claiming only to being a
Witness in a crime, your crime. Putting on that face
Working the crowds with amazing easily, how I hate you
Yes all the thing I think about revolve around you.
How many times have I witness myself wound my self
With your blade? As though under a spell doing as order
Without a cry to the world what made me so diligent ?
But no longer can you be a witness,No longer can I be
A witness to these crimes that been committed.Be us both
Sinners be us both lovers be that we both be cursed
We shall witness our sins become whole and the love in
Which we share spread further and further like the flames
Of hades. May there be peace for sinners in the next world.
We are both witnesses and at the same time
We are both sinners one day to become consumed by our
Own darkness how far will we fall until that moment comes?
May we be good may we be bad may we fall may we live may
May we die or carry on we are the Witnesses We are the Sinners
To this world and the next.

Is It God We Trust Or Leave In the Dust

Is It God We Trust? Or Leave In the Dust? As our courts remove God from this great nation. We are left with a confused and lost generation! As God is taken away from our public schools. A huge tide of immorality is what “rules.” The Bible is often mocked and discarded. It was on it’s principles this country was started! Just about anything of God seems to get scorned. So many “rush” to worship many ungodly forms. As God’s name is often tossed and thrown out. We tend to forget what HE is all about! Too often, his plans for living are tossed and abused. No wonder, there’s many who are lost and confused! As people forget God and worship the fallen creature. They look to themselves and “glorify” their features. Many ignore God, and get involved in deep addictions. And with this, come disease, heartache and afflictions! As God looks and sees this nation “bleeding.” It’s his righteousness, that we need to be seeking! If we would humble ourselves, he would hear our prayer! He loves all of us! And he really does care! Won’t you come to HIM, And invite him in? Won’t you allow him to be your master and friend? He brings strength and nourishment to the soul! It’s only in him that we can be made whole! Granny And Your last glass of water

He starts singing songs of Ireland and we are home in a jiffy
"What's a jiffy," my mother wonders
"Guess where we went Granny?"
"I don't know but I have a feeling you are gonna tell me," answers my grandmother
"And Don't call me Granny!"
"We went to church so Poppy could ask secret questions."
"The priest gave Poppy a shot and a beer and Poppy sent me next store and he gave me money for taffy."
"He told me not to tell anyone especially you about the priest cause it's only for the priests ears."
"He said God would take away taffy and I'd never get another goodie and God would strike me dead if I told."
"So I can't tell anyone."
"He did," and she starts yelling and grabs a weapon,"what kind of idiot would be scaring a little child?"
Granny is standing on Poppy's toes and and asking him questions of where he'd been and getting a sniff of his breath
"So what did you tell the priest and him giving you consolation and a shot and beer."
"That little rat ," and thinks about the money for candy
Later, Granny is chasing Poppy with that big iron frying pan and poppy running and singing
"In Heaven they have no beer, that's why we drink it here."
"You damn fool I'm gonna bust you in the head, "and throws the pan at his head
And later
Cousin Francis has bill collectors come to the house looking for him
Granny was four foot seven inches and she starts kicking him in the shin
My Mother grabs his Dick Tracy hat and she jumps on it and flattens it
I ask my mom where I was when this happened and she pauses
" You were in Heaven Patrick waiting with your brother!"
The truancy officers bang on the door and want to know where Uncle Charles is
Granny shrugs and says, "He is upstairs and the sound of the window going up sounds
They all run upstairs and see Uncle sliding down the tree and running as fast as his
seven year legs can move
He comes home later that evening holding a goose under his arm
And Poppy has a soft-boiled goose egg for breakfast every morning
I ask Uncle what happened to that goose and He said,"one day he came home and
they had chicken for dinner."
And Poppy was gone to heaven to get me and my brother ready Mom says
And Granny sits my brother and me on her lap and says,"you two knuckleheads listen up."
"This is very important so don't forget it."
"Treat people the way you want to be treated, because you never know who is going to hand you your last glass of water"

Family

A decade in to
a new millennium,
a woman, nearing
a century on Earth,
braces herself in
a doorway of
the house,
she has lived in since birth.

Her oldest son unfastens his belt, and takes a seat at the end of her table,
where her middle son just fixed the legs of the chair; to make sure it was stable.
Her youngest son brushes the webs off the wall, and scrubs the stains from the floor.
Her only daughter packs up her pictures, and helps her through the door.

A decade in to
a new millennium,
a life, almost
a century long,
comes flooding back
to the thoughts of a woman
who feels removed
from where she belongs.

Her daughter tries to lift her spirits, (from the room in which, she slept as a child)
but no one could easily witness their memories, all being sorted, and filed.
Her house is dissected, and put in a truck that waits - like a thief - in the drive.
-The cumbersome stance; the delicate dance; together, they help one another survive.

A decade in to
a new millennium,
a woman approaches
a century - passed.
A man in the attic
waves from the window -
Assuring her:
This home will not be her last.

Rory and Cory are brothers.
They have the same father
but they have different mothers.
Their mothers are sisters.
That makes Rory and Cory cousins
as well as being brothers.
Rory’s mother is Cory’s aunt
and Cory’s mother is Rory’s aunt.
Cory is Rory’s mother’s nephew
and Rory is Cory’s mother’s nephew.

What I Look For In A Home

I’m sure that home to many has a different meaning. It depends what kind of life they’ve been receiving. There are those with memories of hurt and pain. Some may not want to mention their families name. Others have childhood memories they are fond of. They may have a family that they’re proud of! I think that in many cases, home is not what people see. It has a lot of importance. Both to you and me! What home means to me is to have our family together. And ask the Lord to bless it, with his love forever! God gave me a wife and children to take care of. May I not do things that I’d be ashamed of! I invite YOU Jesus, to be the head of our home! May we come together as a family, around your throne! May our family serve one another as we should. May the truths of God’s word be applied and understood! May the Lord help us to get along, with our imperfections. May God’s word be our “road map,” for needed direction! There’s no perfect home. Believe me! I know it! When it comes to family time… We all need to show it! Unless the lord builds the home… They labor in vain that build it! Let’s seek God’s blessing! So his love can completely fill it! Please come Jesus! And fill our home today! May our home be honored by what we do and say! By Jim Pemberton

Wisdom of Heights---Climb with Me

This morning
bells toll
a trumpet sounds
but refuses to blare
it just doesn't know
how to harm
what it takes
to infect the living

trees
earth
and sound
survive sadness
out last the past
bond brothers and sisters
of sky
air
mud
and water
as it loses
to a force

some days...

this morning
it wins
because the vibration knows god
and is ONE

and though human imperfections
sit in the shadows of it's path
perfections will
and forever will
prevail

people
so arrogant
we choose to destroy
but how can we concentrate
on methods of malcontent
when god sits at our breakfast table?
urging
as father urges child
"get up!"
"move on!"
"stand on two feet!"
"breath child!"

he tolls the bell
as we lay on deaf ears
he loosens ties with anger
as the path warns and wears
thrusting
driving this cosmic ship
of no loses
only tiny
arrogant setbacks

and he smiles
for he knows
what we yet
have to find...
and all is well.

What People Were and What People Are

People were
Many things.
Strange or not

People were
Different and
Odd and fun.

People were
Monsters but…
That’s not all

People were
And still are
Strange and odd.

People are
People. For
life is life.

Yet not.
Not is lies.
Truth seeps from

Every mouth
Lies, lies, lies
Move, move, move

But somehow
Lies prevail.
Lies are life.

Lies are death.
Lies are homes.
Lies are pain.

Lies are truth.
Yet somehow.
Truth prevails.

Truth is life.
Truth is death.
Truth is home.

Truth is pain.
Truth is lie.
Truth is that.

Lies will die.
Lies will cease.
Nevermore.

Truth will live.
Truth will be.
Forever.

The Building of a Moment

The value of a precious novelty
it seems is intricate fragility.
Recall special trinkets kept in a hutch
for display only, not opened to touch.

Keepsakes in prison, upheld, unimpaired.
reminder of events that once were shared.
One is now kept in a glass étagère
collectible curio set there with care.

Awaiting the finding of a misplaced key,
a new piece tempted curiosity.
Too precious to be ignored, my granddaughter
played with it carefully, warned by her mother.

Rejecting caution, which kids oft ignore
she forgot it, leaving it there on the floor.
The next day, her brother found it with his foot.
One piece now three pieces, broken, kaput.

Comes precious moment, happening on my watch.
Crying sister faults her brother for her botch
who then returns accusations with blame.
Common occurrence, accompanied by shame.

Moment develops as we find the glue.
Are there chips still missing? We find a few.
Together, three of us talk as we work.
Accountability comes with its perks.

The most precious of moments in history -
when that collectible met surgery.
Years later it stands tall, gathering dust
priceless symbol of joint effort and fuss.

The Apple PASTURE

DONE

                             The Apple PASTURE

Oh how I long
To drift into the apple pasture.
Were once was and all well meet.
A pure and dear site.
Where silver reflection cover the still waters that holds the golden
grains of martilty and the grazing souls lie young amounce no stars.
Oh how I long
To drift into the apple pasture
Were wins smells of melon and the trees whisper spring corals in the mellow dark and best of light and time creeps into no tomorrow.

Parents Need To Be In Church With Their Children

Parents Need To Be In Church With Their Children… Many parents bring their kids to church… Hoping they’ll be a “better person.” They want them to hear about God. And listen to the “Sunday lesson.” They often tell the children to listen and obey God’s ways. But you’ll never see the parents at church on Sundays! They’re “too busy” to spend time with God... Even at home. Then tell their children they love them. And often leave them alone. They parents don’t want to take the time to give them their attention. They want the Sunday school teacher to give them a “moral direction.” Parents need to be the man and woman God wants them to be! They need to have Christian principles that their children can see! Won’t you be there for your children and help them to understand… What it means to be a Christian. And to be a Godly woman or man! It’s Christ’ desire that you as parents be a Godly example! There’s just too many temptations for your kids to handle! Living for God. As a family. Is the best thing you can do! Christ stands at your heart’s door… The rest is up to YOU! Through A Prison Glass

You came unexpectedly, and i was surprised,
you smiled and placed your hand on the glass and cried.
I leaned my head against the glass and told you i am sorry,
i whisper through the phone line, ill start a new story.

You knew i was innocent but you still didn't believe me,
the only person i thought that would stay by my side but you couldn't be.
Mom standing by your side and not wanting to talk,
i got really upset that you came at all cause i didn't want to see you walk.

I needed you, when i was in need,
i was there for you when ever you didn't want to bleed.
I loved you and i cherished you with all my heart,
but before you left your words hit me like a really sharp dart.

You said i failed you,
you cried to me and i knew it was true.
But i needed you to understand me,
but you went your way and upset me.

The glass is now empty and i cant find you even with the fact that I'm out,
i tell you i love you but all you do is shout.
I've lost you for good this time,
so i think i have to do one more crime.

One Billion Rising

Today we rise.

No more hiding in the shadows,

of culture,
creed,
tradition.

No more silent complicity,

defensive arguments,
sickening pretences,
shabby excuses,

for the actions of men,

brutal and coarse and vulgar and obscene and murderous and abusive.

Today, we rise,

as one.

Today the change starts,

with me,
within me.

Today we rise.

Full House

Naughty little brother hitting people just for fun,
Soppy little sister snuggles up to harassed mum,
While other sister Lesley thinks she’s in a royal court,
And “Ten Ton Tim” throws the tennis balls he’s bought,
One hits little Lesley on the head with quite a force,
She storms off to her room, in a nark again of course,
She slams the door behind her once she’s made her way upstairs,
And then there’s the twins, I know that trouble comes in pairs,
Michael’s riding Richard with his undies on his head,
While Craig from down the road is wearing swimming trunks instead,
“Ten Ton Tim” then offers the other boys a fight,
One which probably won’t finish until very late at night
“You and Craig onto me!”; a tempting offer to the boys,
Who start to rush towards him brandishing their army-toys,
Lesley reappears from the dark behind the door,
Intending not carry on moaning any more,
Dad is quite sensible at stays at work ‘til dark,
I think it’s more crowded here than in Noah’s Ark.
Mother calls for quite but the noise just carries on,
‘Til Craig suggests they go to his and then the rabble’s gone!

Caucasoid, Mongoloid,and Negroid
Colour the conscience progression
of Man's ethical Truths...
The cultural aggressions of violence
and ignorance must end!
Extend your heart, hand and life
Towards the Precious Don of Honour...
Freely, keeping the sincere

Young Cronus

YOUNG CRONUS	(5.7.09)

My father decided he wanted his children
buried, and left for dead.
But my mother, Gaea, both fair and true,
spared her children instead.
So I met with my selfish father,
where, by Gaea, we both were led,
and, holding the sickle she gave me,
this is what I said:

"Hello, dearest father.
I'm glad that you came. After years without you,
I know how you feel about us.
I just hope you know: We feel the same about you."

"But we are not here to argue.
I came here to say good bye."
He knew farewells were in order,
but he did not yet, know why.
I explained our situation,
as my siblings stood idly by,
saying, "If you don't want to have children,
you cannot be swayed, so I won't even try.
But its too late to go back now.
You cannot erase my family and I.
So that leaves us only one option,
and that's why I'm saying goodbye."

"Goodbye, worthless father.
I'm glad that you came. Now pay what is due.
We know how you feel about us,
and now you know how we feel about you."

He regretted the seeds he had sewn,
so, in charity, I reaped his remorse.
I swung my sickle pure and precise,
with such fervent and furious force;
His blood was late to react to the wound,
and that which was lost by means of divorce,
found it's new home in the deep, dark, blue ocean-
unable to ever return to it's source.

Together with most of my brothers and sisters,
there seemed to be no better fit
	than to send him away, as he would have sent us;
	to the bottomless Tartarus pit.

"Goodbye, worthless father.
I'm glad that you came, and you paid what was due.
We knew how you felt about all of us,
so we showed you just how we all feel about you."

"Farewell forever, father.
I'm glad that you're gone, and I'll never atone.
Know that your fear was what you created,
as I take my seat in what once was your throne."

Family

My Father at the head of the table, carving the meat, My Mother brings the vegetables, wiping her brow from the heat. Sunday Roast Dinner, the memories so clear, A family together, every Sunday of the year. All week I'd been looking forward to our Sunday together, Brothers and Sisters turn up, no matter the weather. Now I pass on this gift to my own family, That they enjoy the ritual that's so important to me. A time for conversation, to be counselled and grilled, The laughter and humour where good banter is filled. Dad's kind face, is crimson with mirth, Tapping his belly and complaining of the girth. Mother so interested in how we're getting on, Teasing amongst the children, requests for a song. The smell of the roasted bird fills up the room, Anticipation of Mother's crumble, custard and spoon. Family all together is so important to me, Sitting round the table with such happy memories. The wine it does flow and work forgotten for a day, May the tradition continue, the love of a family stay.

In my direction?
Can't they look somewhere else?

Discomfart rises, too.
Afraid to mess up,

I feel pale.
I freeze.

Never Thought It Would Happen

We began so little and young,
Life beat us bad and twisted our tongue.
You and I walked a pretty rough road I can say
When you stumbled I was always there to make you stay.

Stay and not give up, I didn't give up on you than, so I wont give up on you now,
We danced our life so brutally and softly, but this time you didn't look my way and bounced.
I thought we would go on like this forever, but I guess like people say,
Nothing lasts forever.

Does Family Really Matter Anymore

A family had a wedding... The brother wasn’t invited.
The fact they didn’t want him,..
Was already decided!

When asked why his name had been “omitted.”
It was because of past wrongs he had committed.

The words spoken, one could hardly believe it!
Any kind of forgiveness?
 They didn’t receive it!

How many times are loved ones not
 invited to “family occasions.”
Often times, families listen to “outside persuasions.”

Someone does something,
that may not be liked.
Then they’re often told to “go take a hike!

No wonder why many families
battle one another!
They have failed to truly love each other!

As we continue to see families drift apart.
This often leads to a wounded
and broken heart!

Christ gave us his best!
When we were at our lowest!
A life of mercy and forgiveness…
He wants to show us!

If we can’t treat one another
 as Christ commands…
Then HIS way of family living….
We’ll never understand!

An Old Dirt Road

Long country roads reminds me of home.
Where Mother gardened in her yellow hat
and Dad watching her would smile and at
her laugh, then she would laugh along.

The smell of honeysuckle on the vines and
 Sister reciting her nursery rhymes.
My brother playing alone would dream of
singing country songs, as he would with his
little hands, that ole guitar strum along.

Peaceful feelings this ole dirt road brings
and how I would love to go back home again.
So much has changed in the years that have
passed but when I close my eyes, yesterday
doesn't seem as long ago, as the sound of the
 word, the past.

Running barefoot along the river banks, those
memories will always be a part of me and for
these memories, to my parents, I give thanks.
It has been the greatest gift of all, for now when
life gets to troubling my mind, I find a dirt road
and just drive and go to the river to relive the
loving times we shared and with my children
create our own special moment in time, in hopes
that someday, this with their children they will
 share.

I was Beautifully And Wonderfully Made

I was beautifully designed and wonderfully made… There’s nothing that God has given to me that I would ever trade! I was fashioned and created by God… With one thing in mind. To be an image of HIM… In a body by his design! He fashioned and formed me with the dust of the ground... He gave me his love. It ‘s all around! Though there are imperfections and “inflictions” within… God is patient and willing to forgive my every sin! Through life… I’ll endure trials, heartache and despair... God is with me... He’s always there! I know that his son, Jesus… Has given me his grace. He has provided for my life… “A resting place…” I’m going to serve this God… Whom I love so much! How I long for his presence… His “special touch…” Thank you God... For a “new” person you’re helping me to be! And may your light continue to shine through people like me! By Jim Pemberton When I'm going through a discouraging time... This poem reminds me of how special that I am to God!

Love Will Survive

There must have been a time or two,
Though long ago it seems to be.
At least I thought our souls had meshed;
For this I know, we shared life's flesh.
No one would guess our shapeless bud,
Sprang from one's womb of love we bloomed.

If I had known that growing up
Meant loss of memories too tender
And sweet, I would have used the
Will God gave, to shield us from both
Harm and pain.

No matter what this life may bring,
We must hold fast to mom’s favorite phrase,
"Be Good to Your self"; then from some deep,
Dark place her love resides,
The calm and peace will surely rise.

Know this my brother,
Our love is strong, and now
She has gone; we are all we have.

Arguing with one another
Texting back and forth
Owen drives in the blizzard
Kurt is at home

Kurt sends Owen another message
"why did you tell them about me doing drugs?"
"that wasnt your place, i dont care if there your parents too"
"shouldnt i be the one to tell them?"

Owen tries to reply to the message Kurt has sent him
He loses control of the wheel
driving into a field
Kurt recieves a message from Owen
"Im sorry I..."
The message was never finished
The car slamming into a tree
The tree branch breaks through the window
Thrashing into Owens stomach
As Owens head slams back and forth
The car is left smoking

Kurt knows something is wrong
but leaves things be

50 Minutes Later...."

Kurt and Owen's parent recieve a call from the police
"Is this the parent of Owen Everdeen?" the police ask
the mother answers "yes is something wrong? is it Owen, what did he do now?"
"Mam', Your son was in a accident, they are life flighting him to the hospital"
She drops the phone, and grabs her purse and yells at Kurt to come on.

She drives fast to get to the hospital to see her son
Owen was life flighted to the hospital
The police had to use the jaws of life to get him out of his car

They finally make it to the hospital
The Dr. asking "Are you the mother of Owen?"
She cries "yes, where is my son?"
Kurt stands upset at himself for fighting with Owen minutes before
Remembering Owens last text to him. "im sorry I.."

The Dr. explains to the mother
"Owen didnt make it"
She sits in sadness
Numbness
She cannot breathe

Kurt runs after the Dr.
"this cant be, he has to be ok" as he starts to cry.
Just the night before him and his brother
Were playing guitar hero together
Remembering the last moment
The arguing
The reqruet Kurt is now feeling

"Owen Ryan Everdeen: Jan. 1st, 1990- December 8th, 2011"
To a good brother and a great friend, im sorry about all those times i have let you down
Im sorry for yelling at you that night, and causing your crash, the guilt i feel wont leave
I am sorry that you went through that, and left this world that way, forgive me for what i
have caused. I love you.

I love you more

What can I render to the Lord for all His gifts to me
His love
His Grace
His forgiveness
His sacrifice
His faithfulness
His Joy
He who took MY SINS
His abounding Mercy
His fathomless love
His total commitment to my salvation
To my wholeness
To my welfare
To my emotional stability
To giving me eternal life
He gave a pure white robe to cover me with HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS

Because of Jesus-I now know Him as an adoring Father.
A Brother who will always walk so close I feel His presence and who always watches over me.
A mother whose words and affections surround me daily with care like a Mother hen
Proverbs:1:8

What can I render to the Lord who took my pain
Who in His own body was wounded and bore the sorrows and my grief I was to going through and the mistakes and the sin ready at every moment to try and trick me out through my life-time-
He sent His WORD- His LIGHT to enlighten my darkness and show me clearly the road I should take-(Proverbs: chapters 1to 9)

Yes YOU were always ready to defend me, a helpless orphan- for without YOU as my Dad and as my mother- I was abandoned to this world-
But Now I can cry with all my heart- ABBA FATHER I love you - But YOU say

               I
     LOVE Y MORE
              O
              U

What can I render to the LORD- MY God- whose precious pure blood was spilt to bear the sins of all our humanity- I will take ‘the cup’ of Your salvation and honor your name with my life- For only your pure blood is worthy to pay for all sin-I will confess your name before the world for which you died to save -and I will call upon your HOLY name - for your name alone is WORTHY- JESUS.

What does a normal teen do? What does a normal teen think?
I really do not no. yes I am a teen but when I was 15 ½ I thought about how to take care of my mom if she needed to be changed and when to feed her and when to give her medication. I worried about what would happen to my mom. I had to go shopping for toddler cloths for my little sister and brother. I am 17 now and I still go shopping for little children cloths. I worry about getting my homework done and getting my little brother and sister’s homework done. This year I have to take the kids to kinder garden and I will be in 12th grade. I always worry about what’s going to happen to my mom she is still sick but there’s nothing I can do just keep her in my heart and prayers. I worry about what I will do when its time for me to go to college I will still be taking care of my brother and sister. There’s a lot to do I worry all the time about money things being washed and cleaning and homework. My dad does a lot for me and my sisters and brothers I just wish my big sisters would have stepped up and helped my dad take care me and my little sister and brother but they didn’t now i am trying to do all the things my mom did. It is a lot of work mothers have to do. I thought it was easy but now that I have to do it all I can say mothers are what keeps a family in order. Thanks to all the moms out there. If you have moms don’t take her for granted because you never know what will happen to them.

FAMILY ISSUES

befuddled by mud puddle conversation
motivated to stay away from those in the throes of saving face
at a sprinter's pace
saving grace
each time I grind with people who don't mind blindly trying to debase my name
I end up sulking in the walk of shame

families need to learn to move on
be strong
but for crying out loud,
without a doubt,
there shall be heartfelt apologies issued from both sides
this bumpy ride might take a little swallowing of pride,
many bona fide hugs with love
you may go through a box or two of fresh tissues
to properly address the issues

we must stare defiantly into the eyes of resistance
identify the roots of our miscues
giving the boot to artificial rituals
to ambitiously make transitions,
 stitch up wounds
switch up moods
shake up, move
to a place where faces are soothed by smiles and laughter
a fresh chapter
an escape after disasters happen
an island where
we realize those who actually matter
yes, addressing the crash
without making the past our current address

i write this piece in peace, for those who may be dueling with duress
stressed by words or actions of those who you may regret not being able to completely
love, respect, and/or caress

Nature's Single Dads - The Australian Emu

Nature’s Single Dad:
The Australian Emu :
The first 55 days

Emund is busy
preparing his
dance-floor for
partners who’ll put
him to the test.
His pedigree line
has proven with time

that it is now his
turn, to be best.
He hears them emerge
from the bush as
they gather in
answer to nature’s
call.
They dance, and then
go away, they know
they cannot stay;
there is not enough
food for them all.

They dip and they
weave as they mingle
together knowing
that each has a
chance
With his reputation,
there is no
hesitation;
he is ready to join
in the dance.
‘Bonk! Bonk,’ comes
the sound of another
arrival, ‘It’s
Emulena!’ he says
with a grin.
Others move to the
side as he leaves
them mid-stride
to greet this dancer
as she flounces in.

With sensuous,
rhythmic movement of
hips she fluffs up
her boa, it bounces
in time.
He matches her mood.
His movements are
smooth
as they twist and
twirl in their
dancing mime.
He does not fuss
about who takes the
lead, he follows and
their dance now is
ending.
With steps that are
light he glides to
the right,
he meets her, bows
deeply, head
bending.

Emulena says,
“Sorry, we cannot
stay longer, we all
must find paddocks
anew.
It matters not
whether we all stay
together,
we trust you to know
what to do.”
As she speaks, they
deposit their gifts,
and he hears, as in
chorus they say,
“We know you’ll do
magically, what you
do naturally
to deliver these in
your own way.”

After completing her
task, Emulena stands
tall and she fluffs
up her feathers once
more.
They follow her lead
in twos, and in
threes,
and promenade across
the dance floor.
Left all alone, he
goes back to his
duties and looks
closely at each pale
green shell.
He checks all for
defects. He sees
they are perfect,
so with care he
covers every one
well.

He sticks to his
task for fifty-five
days in sunshine,
strong winds and
some showers.
He values each
treasure and tends
them with pleasure
as he, turns each
egg every three
hours.
Through his long
lashes he sees
danger coming. He
drops his neck down
like a log.
Feathers flying on
high and red fur
prowls near-by;
he needs to fool
both bird and dog.

The shells have now
turned a dark bluey
green, there’s an
infertile egg in the
batch.
This egg will be
food for his hungry
brood;
but he won’t eat or
drink, ‘til they
hatch.
Each day he looks
up, and turns his
head to the sun as
it rises each
morning.
He’ll sit day and
night until the
time’s right.
He knows, that time
comes without
warning.

to be continued...

Chained

The innocent are chained
The prison doors are locked
The guards are watching
The entrance is blocked

Please bring them Justice
Please don't make them pay
Please bring them freedom
Please don't walk away

You say it's not my problem
You don't want to be involved
You don't have the power
You can't break down the walls

Turn off the Television
Turn off the Radio
Turn off the smart phone
Turn your heart to GO

Go fight for freedom
Go take their hands
Go to God's children
Go do what you can

Always I Miss You

When I'm home sick, sulking half the day because your not here,
And getting sadder if I say madder because your not there,
I remind myself in an unusual way theres worse fared,
If you don't mind being compared,

Repeating the many ways you cared,
The experiences fondly replayed in many ways,
Thoughts and memories that make me gay,
 Every recipe, every taste,
Looking back it all seems in an awkward haste,

Now it is what I use to fill my plate,
 It's what I use so I won't be late,
 Staying here learning to appreciate,
All the miles, trucks caring freight..

For your Christmas gifts the children just can't wait,
But if you visit my mind would quake.

Family

3 people in a room
Each doing their own thing
I wonder what each of them think?

The boy playing computer football,
"Save the game! Now!"
"What is she doing writing? The Poof!"
"Mams falling asleep again!"

The girl scribbling to herself,
"That'll never work, I'll rewrite it."
"I don't see the appeal of virtual football.."
"Why does mother keep looking at me like that?"

The woman sitting on the sofa,
"The cat looks so adorable!"
"That bloody computer clicking is annoying!"
"That girl is writing again, whats wrong with her?!"

If each of them could hear
the others thoughts, would they be offended?
Or do you think they already know?

Emotional Outbreak

A frustration that can cannot be abated,
Knives flashing in the blindingly brilliant Sunshine.
Blood drops spattered across the delicate petals
of white roses clutched in a child's small fist.
horror lances through her body it reacts before her mind does,
all the years of self control suddenly break away,
a woman sits only in a peaceful garden,
not at peace, but thoughts whirling like a deep
malovolent tornado,
as she thinks about the lonely years,
of that little girl that lurks beneath the
surface wanting ,needing, and waiting for
a god to be able to reunite her with now,
her mother, sister, and older loving overprotective brother.

Reflections of love

Hand and hand is the way I always saw them
 With Joy filling their eyes
And a reflection of their love could be seen
Like the brightest colors in the sky
Even when storms would come and stay
Never did they let their troubles make them regret words they say
Hand in hand is the way they walked
Sharing a reflection of love
As a mother and daughter, father and son, sister and brother do
Sometimes when I was out looking at the stars
You could see the love they hand for one another
The way they reached their arms
With love for one another,
As a mother and daughter, father and son, sister and brother do
Oh hand in hand is how I learned to be
Sharing the joys of life
And letting my reflection of love bring them down the trail
To hear the story of this tail

Serpent of Corruption

Worthy of love, unbreakable togetherness, and lasting compassion would have been instilled
strongly in the vessel of thirsting heart and unstable mind of a child.

But, why soup of hatred, a platter of pale love and a bowl of spoiled unloving thoughts
are laid in the niche of the child’s sprouting character?

Family ties were untied by a father who neglected his pure actions and encouraging words
and translated into unspoken greediness and unnoticed carelessness of expressed thoughts
that form the growing character of his son.

The family bonding is disbanded by a mother who works in the scope of her comfort where
eyes and mouth are only the weapons of her love and care for her curious daughter and for
her wandering son.

A father who offers a well of gold and silver, a mother who clothes sparkling dress of
worldly wealth to her offspring!

Their children have worn ever the brightest smile but not for a while,
The pleasures of their tongue were satisfied but not their hearts.

Corruption begins at home.
It creeps to the nerves of the heart of your son.
It envelops the innocent soul of your daughter.

For every dishonest word that is pronounced by the indifferent father,
For every unchecked actions that mother has imposed,
Are a sure lifetime shaper to the values and character of the children.

Family brings serpents of corruption in every corner of the home.
It blows very hard like a destructive wind of the storm.
It is like a starving lion that preys on the flesh of good virtues and leaves nothing but
dead soul!

Father, Mother, May I appeal to your deepest conscience and understanding!
May you be vigilant and be watchful of your actions and your ways of life!
Your most beloved children are at stake in the breaking and making of their character!

For Anene Booysen 1996 - 2013

Hamba Kahle Anene Booysen! (1996 – 2013)

Dead at 17, brutally raped and left to die,
in the dirt,

at a construction site in Bredasdorp.

‘horrific’, ‘repulsed’,
‘brutally raped’, ‘shocked’,

do these words mean anything,
to anyone,

anymore.

Not to Anene Booysen,

murdered at 17, brutally raped and left to die,

in the dirt,

at a construction site in Bredasdorp.

Anene was raped,
savagely mutilated,

Her 17 year old body tossed aside,

by the hands of men.

Men, always men,

cowardly, beastly, perverted, twisted men.

‘Beastly’, ‘perverted’, ‘twisted’,

do these words mean anything,
to anyone,

anymore.

Not to Anene Booysen,

who now lies cold and dead.

How many Anene Booysens will it take,

for us,
society,
families,
people,

human-beings,

and,

men, especially men,

to excise the ghastly menace,

of the heinous capacity that resides,

within men,

always men,

to brutalise, rape, mutilate, and murder.

‘Brutalise’, ‘murder’, ‘rape’,

do these words mean anything,
to anyone,

anymore.

Not to Anene Booysen,

murdered at 17, brutally raped and left,

to die,

in the dirt,

at a construction site,

in Bredasdorp.

What's Happening to Marriages Today

What’s Happening to Marriages Today?

I was listening to someone just the other day…
And I couldn’t believe what he had to say!

He had left his wife and children for another!
She was young enough to be his daughter!

Here they were, “in love” and holding hands!
Hoping to soon, get their “wedding bands!”

They were pretending that this was so “cool.”
Living now by their own “set of rules!”

How sick and disgusting this is getting to be!
Is this something that many can’t see?

God gave us Adam and Eve to become one.
To bear fruit through daughters and sons!

He gave us marriage as holy vows are made.
Not to march in an “adulterous parade!”

We are treading on very dangerous ground!
Faithfulness and commitment
are scarcely found!

The very definition of marriage is changing!
As the family unit is always rearranging!

Our only hope is in Jesus! And him alone!
Let’s promote his love! Into our hearts and home!

Let’s allow his love to be our heart’s glue!
And bring new meaning to the words; “I love you!”

May his love bind our hearts and lives together!
And remain faithful to each other forever!

I Am So Very Thankful

I’m So Very Thankful… I’m so thankful for everything the Lord has made... Everything he’s created… His beauty is displayed! I’m so thankful for the breath I have to breathe… Until that one day, from this earth, I shall leave. I’m so thankful for the way God has made so evident. The principles of his word… Are so relevant! I’m so thankful for the beauty and glory he’s shown… It has brought blessings and healing to my home! I’m so thankful for the many things he’s done for me… He’s given me his love which flows abundantly! I’m so thankful that each day,.. Is another to live for him… He’s taken away my pain and has forgiven every sin. I’m so thankful that I can write these words from my heart. I know that he’s with me. And he’ll never depart! I’m so thankful that you’re reading what I’ve been saying… May this cause you to once again start praying! I pray that this same Jesus I know… Who’s merciful and kind… Will speak words of hope to you and give you a peace of mind. I pray that before you go to bed and this day has ended. You’ll allow Christ to have your heart “amended.” Thank you Lord! For what you’ve done and are going to do… It’s another way that I can say “I LOVE YOU!” Thank you Lord! For all that I‘ve received and so much more… You’ve made my life complete… And are worth living for!

My Family and Me

It's amazing how quick things can change.
First your running with the kings, and then you're knocked out of range.
It's strange. I used to worry and stress over friends.
Now I've grown to be a man. Maybe know a few of them.
All that time I could of studied. Did better in school.
Got a job and made it big. Maybe now I'd be cool.
Who's the fool? Now who's the bull? I know that's not me on the top.
Life is always making turns weather you like it or not.
The past will always be the past. My glory days may seem gone.
But, now its time to start a new.The stories keep coming on.
I've got a new girl. She means the world to me.
She keeps me warm at night, my best friend, my new dream.
Since my car accident, still got a limp on one side.
Still working with my memory, still need a friend who can drive.
I love to Karaoke. I get noticed in bars.
My mom's always there to catch me. Tom's working with my mom's cars.
My sister's in the Army, my niece is a big part of my life,
Friend Zach keeps assholes off me, and God is my wife.
AJ's always there to help, Brian is my LOST bud,
Mary's out of school, Lil cousin, Hunter's a stud.
Grandpa still is my idol, JT is still the music man .
The Adam's still can party. Chris, living good on the sand.
I may only use one hand, but I plan to be the best.
At all I do in life, cause there's not that much time left.
The blood test that I took says Landon is mine.
I hope this all works out fine in time and help to make my son's life shine.
JC who's down in Georiga, my heart is screaming for you.
I hope that you recover well. It can't be worse then what I went through.
Uncle Jimmy where you at? Where's Matt, Corie, and Pete?
I know you all are doing good. Serviolo's are a hard team to beat.
How's the rest of the family? I love and miss you all!
I hope you all are standing tall and I pray we never fall.
These last words that I say, I say only to you.
We've got the best family in the world and you know I LOVE YOU!

Why Should We Live?

Why should we live if we have
nothing to live for?
Why should we live if we have
nothing to die for?
Why should we live if
no one cares?
Why should we live if you're
loved by no one?
Why should we live if no
one likes you?
Why should we live if
no one loves you?

Each day is just a day
Each day is a day closer to death.
What's the point of living?
Some may say none,
Others may say why.
Why should we live?
Tell me and I will think about your answer.

The Deadly Dart

Wherever I go through out my whole life,
I end up struggling with lots of strife.
Thinking that my life is a total waste,
Wanting it to be over in a haste.

I can feel the pain inside my own heart,
Like someone through at my a deadly dart.
The wound is easing deeper and deeper,
Will the pain ever stop getting bigger?

Feeling emo is never a good thing,
Cutting your arm makes a really bad sting.
Blood is dripping from my arms and my heart,
Failing to dodge the largest deadly dart.

Drowning in all the lies and self pity,
I live each day but always feel sh*tty.
I have lots of thoughts about suicide,
But then I think about those who have died.

Those who have died not just from suicide,
But also those who are really nice guys.
...
...
...
...This "poem" was actually suppose to be a couplet (on any thing you want) for my english
class but i made this kind bcuz i was feeling emo that day...and also after i was done i read it
over and it almost sound like a rap song which, i guess, is kinda funny and cool.........

Forever Your Man

I'm very outgoing, yeah I talk to some girls,
but you got to understand, you're the queen of my world.
Honey, If I had the money, I would glitter your life.
I'd buy you diamond rings and I would make you my wife.
It's true, you've put me through, I'm stuck to you like super glue.
I just wouldn't know what I'd do without you as my boo!
I stand grand in this land, with you at my hand.
How can I make you understand that I'm forever your man?
You're like the leader of the band and I'm your number one fan!
You're totally fine, you're fun, crazy, sexy, and cool.
So glad you're mine, the one, that makes the other boys drool.
When I think about the times I brought a tear to your eye,
It makes me break down and cry. Sometimes I wish I would die.
Girl, you are my Angel. You were sent from above.
You saved me from this hell and filled my life up with love.
Where we'll go from here on out is a mystery to me,
but I know I'll be all right with you, always, next to me!

American Heart

America resides within the heart of all Who believe in freedom, choice, voice and opportunity Deny, not, the display of pride within yourself Or else you’d deny pride in this land of the free America, more than land, it’s home to you and me Some dare tread, take arms against and try to squash All that America ever stood for, which is evident to all They fear the freedom, strength and all that’s offered As they know, against us, they would never stand tall And for all their attempts, America makes them fall This 9-11, let us not focus on terrorist actions But, on those Americans lost, that still live in our hearts Remember and honor them by living the American dream Exhibiting the ideals and always doing our part Showing all, America has muscle but lives through its heart

BECAUSE OF YOU

BECAUSE OF YOU

Just when i thought things would get brought to the light.
you hide their hands and pretend its all alright.
My thoughts and memories are not a pa-sad.
Hell, Its that part where you lie that makes it so hard.
I remember that December some 8-10 years ago.
You slammed my own mother across the living room floor.
All of the brass so pretty on display.
Ended up all over the floor in such a dis array.
My brother and I ran in to see what was wrong.
You all didn't pay us no attention and continued to carry on.
My mama looked bad tears ran down her face.
You then turn to us and your anger you displaced.
I screamed stop and my little brother did too, so immediately i was angered and it was all towards you.
You grabbed her again and a trophy was near by.
i aimed for your head until you saw me out the corners of your eye.
I hit you cross the back when you had her on the ground.
You reached back and pushed me into the door and it made this big boom sound.
You got up and screamed that i should just get out.
I ran to the room and began pulling my things out.
My mother said don't leave but i had taken all i could take.
No matter whether a push, slap, or fussing it all was more than a mistake.
I left that night with a feeling of great grief.
I said my goodbyes and made it all just that brief.
You may still deny it or think i should forget
But you can never make my memories go away if you cant even admit the shit.
My life is not perfect and never did i claim it to be.
But those horrible moments changed a big part of me.
My husband beat me too, and normal i thought it was.
I just took what example i had and assumed it to be love.
Now i have freed my mind and my soul.
But i will always remember until that day i get old.
You wonder why i never discussed it with you or brought the subject up.
You would never discuss the truth and would really want me to shut up.
So to this i stay away as far as i can be
You will never understand what really inside of me.
I am slowly getting over the hurt but the truth will always be.
Call me when you really ready to discuss all this *****honestly.

That's Where The Lord Lives

I walk outside to see all that I can see.
Over there is our house, our home,
In the distance, you can see.
And that place of hallowed happiness
Forever has been our home
And forever will be so evermore.
That house is small but raised us tall,
From the perfect parents who loved us so
To the perfect sister for which every man would want.
The house built us all up strong.
More than a mere building,
It is a place to love and be loved,
A place that hands you hope that you give right back,
And a place of everlasting faith.
This home is where my parents taught me about God
And opened me up to Jesus.
They opened the eyes of the blind for all to see,
And the blind included me.
They taught me to be the best I can be;
The best things in life are free.
They have taught us so well,
And they all have saved my soul.
Even if I am not there now,
I carry Him with me.
I carry them with me.
I carry Their values and Their teachings with me.
In this house, this home,
We reside.
We cannot forget this.
This is where my Mother lives.
This is where my Father lives.
This is where my Sister lives.
This is where We live,
In this loving, caring, beautiful home
They made just for us.
We cannot forget this either.
This is where it all began.
This is where the hunger and thirst was created;
This is where we are fulfilled.
We cannot, we must not forget this:
This is where God lives.
This is where Jesus lives.
This is where The Lord lives;
The Father and The Almighty.
This is where We live;
This is where We reside.
We must not forget this.
We must not forget this:
What a beautiful and perfect life this is.

In Your Love

Every time you kiss my lips
I am drowning, I'm drowning
Like a never ending abyss
I am drowning, I'm drowning
Every time you whisper I miss you
I am drowning, I'm drowning
In your love, in your love.

Life doesn't seem dangerous
When I'm drowning, yeah I'm drowning
Don't take it so serious
Cause I'm drowning, yeah I'm drowning
I don't care what they think of us
Cause I'm drowning, yeah I'm drowning
In your love, in your love

I Care for You

you'll never be alone
as long as i care for you
Hear my whispers in the dark
my voice is clear and true
when darkeness comes
reach out for me
i'll light the night with stars
so you could see
that you tried so hard
but it wasnt meant to be
you got so far
you almost made it to victory
in the end
it was full of pain
it doesnt even matter
because that pain didnt stay
whenever you fall
i'll always catch you
when you've think you lost
i'll be there to remind you
you'll never be alone
as long as i care for you

Kurt

i am kurt daniel everdean
I am 21 years old
I've been playing the bass guitar
Since I was 11
i weight 145 pounds
i have blondish brown hair
and blue eyes

If I could say one thing about me that I like... Its that I never gave up.

things started when i lost my father
i was 10 years old
my mother started going to her room everytime she got home
she would come out with her eyes all red... Shes been crying
until i accidently walked in on her doing drugs
i now believe it was the drugs that caused the redness
me and my brother would fight everynight
when i bought my first bass
he slammed it against the floor
and told me since i think my lifes crap
then i shouldnt have anything that makes me happy
My mom became a street whore
She would dress in a golden gown and wear ugly make up
We would never see her
unless she needed money to get condoms for her "men"

the things between me and my brother got worse
I was arguing with him over a text he sent my mom
And he got into an accident and died that night

Things just never got better
I created a band called the nocturnal
And the reason you haven't heard of us yet
Is because were an underground punk band in Seattle
we haven't gotten far yet
Just underground party's and bars

My mom ended up running away with her "boyfriend"
After my brother died she blamed me
And told me to leave and said she won't come around me
Until I brought him back

Since then I've gotten a job and was able to pay rent on
My moms old apartment
Hoping shed come back clean and sober
As for me
I've cleaned up. but suicide is still an option

I haven't found god yet and I don't want to
If there was a god why did he give me this ****ed up life
Ya you'll say Kurt?... You made the desicions for your life
I knolw I did. But he was the one who let it actually happen

I've been writing since I was 11
Lyrics and poems
Drawings and paintings
bass guitar and vocals

My life isn't over
But it's sure close to it

Its sad to think that what you thought was fake... Is a true story

An Auntie's Duties

Moms and Dads are important in a child’s life.
I love kids but they are not what I see for me at the moment.
I have the love of many children
Who all receive the love that my own would.
Hugs, Kisses, Care and Treats.
Their smiles keep me on my feet.
An auntie’s duties are never done.
From the headaches to the fun.
I wasn’t only blessed with the life of one.
More like the mighty group of five in my life.
From when they were born they are all I could see.
The love that they give is enough for me.
One girl and four boys is quite a challenge
But not for an auntie like me
Because I got the power.

With Eyes That Saw Your Shadows

The old men defile the little girls
their lurid charm stabs the fragile screen of innocence and ignorance

The fathers are traveled or dead or down, or never known
The mothers weep, hands in air hoping to grab something helpful

The young girls, like rat to hawk become clutched by predatory hands
The old men squeal, cackle, and trumpet their victories
vile names for the captured, the newly shamed are shouted in complete revelry
The tricked lost their chance at being children

This calls for a smile from the most sinister observer

They Left so Abruptly

They Left so Abruptly

(for the countless South Africans, of all colours, who dedicated their lives for freedom and democracy)

the valiant ones
countless
many known
many more nameless

the truest sons and singers
husbands and poets
lovers and wives
daughters and farmers
workers and sisters
brothers and friends

they left so abruptly
with quiet pride
steely courage
gentle dignity

they left so abruptly
leaving us our tomorrows
brighter
hopeful
filled with promise

they left so abruptly
so that we may breathe
the breath of liberty
the air of freedom
the warmth of justice

they left so abruptly
leaving with us their parting gift

freedom
inkululeko
swatantrata
liberte
azadi
vhudilangi
libertad

they left so abruptly
yet we remember them all
today
in the days that slipped away
and in the many more that we await

they left so abruptly
yet they remain
hewed into our memories
etched in our consciences
engraved in our hearts
they left so abruptly
and yet they endure
with us
within us
now and forever more

Apparition

Apparition

October night, northerly wind throws hard rain on windows,
the old house groans in agony under this autumnal offensive.
Mother is reading, my sister too has her nose in a magazine,
I sit by the table doing homework. We have no TV, but after
years of waiting a phone has been installed, a black fiend on
the side table. I had taken a dislike to this intrusive ogre, but
mother thought it the height of gracious middle class living,
needless to say, my sister too thought it wonderful.
Familiar steps in the hall, waited for the kitchen door to open,
it didn’t, mother went to investigate; hesitantly she opened
the door, no one there. I wrote something on a scrap of paper,
or rather the pen did. The phone began ringing it rang and rang
for a long time, none of us got up to answer it. It rang again,
mother had to answer it. She stood there saying nothing as lost
in thoughts, I could hear the steady hum of a line that waited to
be dialed. Finally she put the phone down and said;
“Your Brother is dead”. She sat down and began reading again
but her eyes were stuck on the same page in the book. I looked at
my scrap of paper on it was written: “Your brother is dead”.

There is Life Beyond Death's Door Part IV- (Most Awesome Paranormal Experience)

stammered, “Because, if Brian ran away, I saw him earlier today, downtown! And
he bought me an ice cream cone! And we talked and were even laughing at a joke
I’d just told! He was all dressed up and I asked him where he was going all
dressed up on a Saturday. He just laughed and said that, he was on an errand and
he was going back home. He said that he would see me later. Then I said that I
would come by to tell him about the trip. We said good bye and he walked away!

Papa’s face turned to stone as he starred in silence, and poor Thomas just stood in
that spot like a statute. My oldest sister or someone asked him what kind of
clothing Brian was wearing. He answered that Brian was wearing a grey suit, white
shirt and a burgundy bow tie! He described the outfit down to the shoes Brian
wore. With that said, Papa, wide-eyed called was rising out of his chair in slow
motion as he called out to Mama to come and hear this. Slowly, his tall frame stood
in silence. Those were the exact clothes that Brian was buried in. There is no way
Thomas could have known what kind of clothing Brian had been buried in because;
his parents weren’t at home when he returned from camp. He had returned much
earlier than was expected. He didn’t unpack his bags, being in a hurry to get to the
store downtown as they closed early on Saturdays. After, he would go and visit
Brian to share about the trip. Brian’s burial clothes were all new and made by the
local tailor! Thomas ran out of the house and my Father ran after him. The grieving
had begun all over again. We never did see our dog, Blackie again. The following
year we moved away. I am grateful for memories because even though my brother
Brian died long ago, I still remember his handsome face, even his voice, the way he
walked, his beautiful smile, and the many times he would carry me up on his
shoulders to safety in escaping from an abusive uncle.

Next time I see my brother Brian, we will be together again, this time forever.

Many Families Are In Difficult Situations

I’ve seen many families in difficult situations!
Often ending up in lies and false accusations!

I’ve seen many families stray way off course…
And tragically, often, end up in a divorce!

I’ve seen the hardships that many families endure.
Their faith has often been shaken.
 That’s for sure!

I’ve seen many families trying to give 100 percent.
And then wondering where all of their time went!

I’ve seen all these things happening
 and much more!
I have wondered; “what is all of this happening for?”

I’ve just one thing to say in this “chaotic confusion.”
Only the blood of Jesus gives
 any hope or solution!

It’s only in his word, we’ll find a godly direction!
His Holy Spirit can give true and loving correction!

May we seek his spirit to bind us all together!
And pray for his blood for our protection forever!

Please come Lord Jesus, and refresh our soul!
We need you right now, to make us whole!

Please touch our heart, and make us all one!
And heal every father, mother, daughter and son!

Please help us to watch what we’ll do and say!
You can turn our darkest night
 into the brightest day!

I Hate

I hate the birth mark under my right eye
I hate my extremely static hair
I hate my big bottom lip
I hate my spotty nose

I hate that I have really *****y times
I hate that people only remember me for my really *****y times
I hate that the real *****es hate me
I hate being cautious so they don’t ***** about me

I hate that I cry over everything
I hate that people know I cry over everything
I hate that I hide from them anyway
I hate that they actually don’t care

I hate the fact that my brother is leaving home next year
I hate the fact that I cried when he told me that
I hate the fact that I hid my tears from him
I hate the fact that he’s all I really have left

I hate my father for making me feel like he doesn’t care about me
I hate my mother for making me feel like she picked him over me
I hate that my brother had to look after me when they couldn’t be bothered
I hate that, in my eyes, they don’t deserve to be called mum and dad

I hate that when I was younger I had to run away from my father
I hate that my mother and brother left me by myself that day
I hate that they left me closer to my father
I hate that they went somewhere I would have felt safer

I hate that I feel like my friends are slowly fading away from me
I hate that I feel like I’m a third wheel
I hate that I feel like my friend’s don’t trust me
I hate that I feel like I can’t trust my friends

I hate the feeling of loneliness
I hate that I read books to escape to a world better than mine
I hate that I write to create a better life than my own
I hate that people want to invade that one heaven I invented

I hate that people ask me why I made Katy Clover Taylor
I hate that I had to make a role model for myself
I hate that she is the person I desperately want to be
I hate that she is the one thing I will never live up to

I hate that I feel like my grades would grasp my families attention
I hate that feeling of disappointment when I get a bad grade
I hate feeling like I have to live up to an expectation to hold their attention
I hate that I am relied on because of my grades

I hate that I am an older mind trapped in a younger body
I hate that I am limited in what I can do because of my age
I hate not being trusted upon
I hate people treating me as a kid

I hate not telling people how I feel
I hate hiding behind an invisible barrier
I hate not being able to share how I feel with people
I hate being scared that they won’t care.

I hate people judging me
I hate judging people
I hate that feeling of giving up
I hate the feeling of losing when I didn’t give up

I hate the choices I have made
I hate that nobody thinks I can live up to my dream
I hate people thinking they are so much better than me
I hate the fact that they are right

I hate that I will never make a good girlfriend
I hate the fact I know nobody would fall for me
I hate knowing that no one would help me pick up my life
I hate that it has fallen apart

I hate hurting the people I love
I hate them not loving me anymore
I hate knowing that what I would do would hurt people
I hate the fact I do it anyway

I hate knowing that I do all of this
I hate knowing I hate all of this
I hate trying to change it
I hate that I am not able to change it

I hate that I try not to give up hope
I hate knowing all hope is lost
I hate that I still try and cling to it anyway
I hate knowing I failed at that too

But most of all

I hate not being able to express this until now
I hate that this still won’t change a thing
I hate thinking that it still might
I hate knowing that no one cares

Happy Holidays Or Merry Christmas

What if Christmas wasn't here? What if Christmas disappeared? Whenever December came... It just wouldn’t be the same! What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger? The true meaning of Christmas would be in danger! If this happened... There would be no nativity. We wouldn’t have Christ' peace and tranquility! It’s almost like this now! It’s an “ever increasing business.” It seems like nearly everyone wants “Christ out of Christmas!” Why does it seem like Christmas is losing it’s true meaning? The very words; “Merry Christmas,” seem to be quickly disappearing! Many say; “Happy Holiday.” For fear they may “offend.” Having a “holiday” without Christ…. Once again! We need to put Jesus Christ back into our CHRISTmas season! He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason! May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth. May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth! Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration! We need him so much right now! All over this great nation! May we bring to him a heart of love for everything he’s done. As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son! May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise! Why Did I Give In To Temptation

Giving In To Temptation...

I remember of a particular situation.
I was offered a very "inviting" temptation.

The situation I was in... I didn't belong!
And lost any sense of
"right and wrong."

At first... I felt no guilt or shame.
And brought embarrassmen
 to my family's name.

I tried to explain this to
 my wife and kids.
I heard; "Dad... please...
  no more fibs!"

The Godly principles were
"tossed to the side,"
As the sin inside caused
arrogance and pride.

Soon, all in my life that truly mattered.
Was all gone... and my life
was empty and shattered!

I was sorry for all of the
problems I had caused/
This time... I took a moment to pause/

I cried to God to rescue me from my sin.
And confessed. Would God help me once again?

I read in the Bible of our
 saviour's grace and love/
This time the help I needed had
to come from above/

I asked him for a fresh and brand new start.
He removed the stain from a broken heart.

He restored to me the joy I once had.
I'm so thankful... Jesus has made me glad!

YOU--Jesus--are the reason I'm here today!
I LOVE YOU! More than words can say!

What Kind Of Life Have You Been Spending

You know that another year is ending. What kind of lifestyle have you been spending? Does it just seem like "you're walking on a cloud." "Everything's going good." You're very proud! Boom!

It was sunday afternoon,
we were in the living room.
When in walked my big sister
and my whole world just went Boom!

She announced that she was pregnant!
Yes in the family way!
I was lost for words,
not a thing to say.

My Mother she went mad,
so did Dad as well,
the words that they both said,
i cant repeat or tell.

My brother he just laughed,
( I think he needs to grow. )
But then he is the youngest
and doesn"t really know!

My Sister she just cried,
yes cried and sobbed and wept,
and then on my Mothers lap,
eventually she slept!

My Mother looked at Dad,
Dad looked at the floor,
i glanced up at my brother
as he headed out the door.

The silence in that room,
was the worst i"d ever hear.
I looked at Mum and Dad,
felt the pressure and the fear!

Up the stairs went thumping,
and my brother reached his room.
We could hear him on his mobile,
relating doom and gloom.

Then we heard him laughing,
i thought " His head will roll!"
You"d think he"d know by now,
to take some Mirth Control!

God's Definition of Marriage

God designed marriage as the real thing!
Anything less, is what a counterfeit brings!

His concept of one man and woman is very real.
He’s not interested in bowing to “man’s appeal.”

His court of justice rings very loud and clear!
The truth of his word shall NEVER disappear!

You can look in Genesis and it is found!
He created Adam from the dust of the ground!

He designed Eve from one of his ribs!
They were joined together as both lived!

He didn’t need a constitution to know “their rights.”
He gave them HIS WORD as their guiding light!

Satan has been trying to pervert what God created!
This is a truth. And need not be debated!

We have cheapened the value of the marriage institution!
And have added needless
chaos and confusion!

Through the Bible, one husband and wife are taught!
Unless you want to live in Sodom, as did Lot!

Ungodly perversions take many forms and kinds.
And it soon piles up garbage into our minds!

“What God has put together.”
 “Let no man put asunder.!”
Many ideas of “marriage,” is a total blunder!

One man and one woman is what God ordained in Eden.
It was Adam and Eve.
Not Adam and Steven!

The choices in life are yours! And yours alone!
Who is going to be the Lord, of your heart and home?

Their now the strong men that have their own family's. You gave me three angels from above but, you were taken from us to soon. I know your always watching after them from above. These words I write with tear filled eyes,
As a new dawn comes to light.
Another day without you Son,
Nor' a star filled winters night.

Your Mother sends her love dear boy,
As our hearts are torn in two.
A Major came to see us Son,
He brought us news of you.

He told us of your courage,
Of the fight that lay ahead.
The soldier that we knew you were,
Then he told us, " you were dead".

You left for a tour of duty,
With the army in your heart.
We are proud to have had you in our lives,

Now your duty sure is done.

God Is Our Refuge And Strength

God Is Our Refuge And Strength... God is our refuge and strength, in a time of trouble. He's there to pick me up... when I fall and stumble. I will not fear, though the whole earth be shaken. And the mountains be thrown into the ocean's deep basin. Though the waters roar, and the trees shake with fear; I am never alone.... for God is always near.. There is a river, whose streams bring forth gladness. God is in it's midst and brings true happiness. Let the heathen rage... and the whole earth melt too. The Lord of hosts is with us, and shall protect YOU! Behold his works... and see what he has made. He has caused wars to cease... & destroyed weapons displayed. Be still... The awesome power and glory there is... in HIS majestic name! By Jim Pemberton Psalm Ch. 46

Huntington's

Quietly the disease crept into the family. Away from home for the first time and far from her mother’s cautioning words, she fell in love with and married her college sweetheart. He had told her of the mysterious disease from which his mother had died when he and his twin brother were very young. Alarmed, the bride’s mother researched the disease once know as Huntington’s Chorea, now simply as Huntington’s. What she read terrified her. Their little girl weighed a mere three pounds at birth and after reaching five pounds went home to their loving and tender care. She was a beautiful and strong child until after her sixth birthday when she started exhibiting disturbing symptoms. The doctors denied their fears. This inherited disease does not show its dreaded presence until adulthood. She was an exception. By this time, her father’s sister had been diagnosed with the disease. He also had a twin brother and along with a sister who died at birth, that made four children born to this unlucky carrier. The chances are fifty/fifty that a child of a parent with the disease will inherit it. In this case eventually, every sibling succumbed to the horror. The only good thing about this terrible affliction is that if a child of a Huntington patient escapes, all of his descendants are safe. It does not skip generations and it cannot be passed on by anyone but a parent. This child’s disease progressed rapidly. She went from a bright, articulate, happy youngster to a voiceless, chair-bound invalid in a few short years. At eleven and some months she died in her sleep. Her lungs had simply forgotten to function and she stopped breathing. ------December 10, 2011 Won No. 4 Huntington's is one of those fairly rare genetic diseases that is not well funded and researched as are the the more prevalent diseases. It should be. This is one of the most terrible afflictions known to man and its victims are helpless. There was one other granchild in the family. He too died of Huntington's in early adulthood. It had rampaged through the family and had now destroyed itself. Both the family and the disease had come to an end.

Forever Baby

She was there for his first
She held his hand with his last
The breath that was in between
Seemed to be taken away so fast!

Twenty-seven years later
Justice Seems at hand
Not God's judgment
But the courts of this land.

He took our little Ricky
Without a second thought
As horrible memories surface
We all know it hurts a lot.

Seeing him walk by
With a smile from ear to ear
Still haunts us all
And it's been almost a year.

Praying for this family
Every night it seems to me
Because I know they need God's help
No matter what the outcome be.

Beautiful little Ricky
I hope your death is finally "solved"
And I wish nothing but peace
For ALL the families involved.

You were here for a short while
Now we think of you daily
It's been twenty-seven years
But you are our..."forever baby"

Death over Love

Drip , Drop , Sniffle
Shes all alone crying in the dark
Yesterday he had broken her heart
He said they had drifted apart
Its time to go their seperate ways
She told him good~bye
Even though she wanted him to stay
Today she cut herself once
Saying she forgives
She in the tub now wishing she was his
As time goes by shes slowly going under
Saying her good~byes to her
father , brother , and mother
Later that night her family comes home
Walking up the stairs
Theres a site to behold
Water all around not betraying a single sound
Opening up the door you hear a scream
Coming from her mother as
her brother falls to his knees
Her father running to her to
check to see if she had a pulse
Thats when her mother noticed the words on the wall
Saying..."It wasnt meant to be after all"

I Remember Back When

I remember at the young age of 9 or 10.
Going to the theater was
considered a sin.
There were many things
that as a young boy.
That I wanted to explore and enjoy.

My parents may have been "old fashioned."
They were filled with a Godly
love and compassion.
I look back now and with some hesitation.

And think about this
"new generation."
I wonder "where have all of the morals gone to?"
Some parents are doing things, as a kid, I'd never do.
Many of the "Godly" parents don't seemed concerned.
What's right or wrong—they can't discern.

What once was a dividing line
between black and white.
Is now; "if it feels good—it must be allright."
The savior's call for holiness in your life must dwell.
Living by his word will save your family from hell.

Maybe living for Jesus is by some,
"a narrow way of living."
May your life be one of sacrifice,
holiness and thanksgiving.
May your commitment be true, your heart sincere.
For one day very soon, Jesus shall appear.
Now's the time to be an example
of Jesus' precious name.
When he comes —will you be ready—
or be ashamed?

The very words; “Merry Christmas,” seem to be quickly disappearing! Many say; “Happy Holiday.” They worry they may “offend.” Having a “holiday” without Christ…. Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days! By Jim Pemberton

Blacks

It’s like we’re doing them people a favor
Showing them, that we own up to what they say;
Stereo types isn’t the way,
But we as blacks are proving them right..
They believe that we’ll kill eachother before the
Last night,
& all our women
gone fall a victim to the streets,
Weak minded;
Not even having our children anything to eat..
The only good thing we got going for ourself
Is education,
& that aint gone support the whole nation..

Come on nie,
We gotta take stand!
Teach our children how to believe in
Themselves,
Show our mothers that they
Can make it without a man!
Prove to our fathers,
That they’ll regret they
Neglected us!
Tell our brothers the
“Freak” that noise,
& Stop that fuss!
Its like we all against
Eachother,
But it shouldn’t be this way,
We gotta get it together some day;
Them people know what they doing…
Pretending to solve these crimes,
But knowing their using the same line,
Only place they wanna see us is the cemetery,
Hmm..
Or maybe jail?
But if we don’t make there,
Best to believe:
They hoping we on the
High way to hell,
But we gotta prove em’
Wrong,
Its been too long,
Take a stand,
Cause black women don’t need any man,
Children needa believe in themselves,
Fathers should regret the neglect,
& our brothers need to stop the fuss,
I’m trying not to cuss,
But all this frustration just built up
Inside,
Its kinda hard to hide!
Think about it:
Rosa
Parks,
Martin
Luther King,
Malcom X..
& More, fault
For our freedom;
Now we got it,
& we abusing it,
Kinda like our fathers try our mothers,
But that’s a whole other subject,
We gotta get it together
& that’s a bet(:

This Past Year

I think about this past year... It “came and went…” I wonder that kind of life have I really spent? It almost seems like yesterday that I was a young man… “I had the world in the palm of my hand.” I had many goals, ambitions and dreams. I wanted to enjoy life and do so many things. Looking back on time and how quickly it’s gone by. I gaze up into the beauty of the stars in the sky. As I get older and think about another “resolution.” I find myself with another problem with no “solution.” I think about a God... Who made all of this a possibility! He’s offered to me love, hope and tranquility! I’m going to make a new commitment this January 1st. No matter if things get better… Or things get worse… I’m going to give my life and family to God above. And ask him to bless our home with his mercy and love. I’m going to try to live for him the best way I know. And seek his blessings wherever I may go! I’m going to give to God a love and strong commitment. It’s only in him where I’ll find true fulfillment! There’s an important fact, I shall always remember… God is with me from January thru December! He will be there to guide each step that is taken! With him in my life… I’m never alone or forsaken! By Jim Pemberton

Without God We're Empty Within

Without God… We’re Empty Within! Without God… Our life is filled with emptiness within. And is quickly absorbed into the quicksand of sin! Without God… We are like sheep that have gone astray. Being confused... And going the wrong way! Without God… We have no moral compass or guide. And soon become arrogant and filled with pride! Without God… We are like a ship that’s lost at sea. Not knowing who we are or where we’re going to be! Without God… We have no true hope or security. Everything becomes meaningless and utter vanity! Without God… We have a life built on a “shaky” foundation. It’s only through HIM… We can become a new creation! With God… All things are possible to those who believe! An abundant life with Christ… You can achieve! With God… Your life can be cleansed and made whole! Only he can bring true love to your soul! With God… Can you find eternal life so joyful and bliss! God’s purpose for your life. You don’t want to miss! With God… You can have peace and joy you never had! He’ll give you a reason to be happy and glad! With God… Things in your life will never be the same! That moment you reach out… And call on HIS name! By Jim Pemberton

HE WAS THERE

I know that there are some that still can't pray
and others that ask, 'Where was God that day?'
HE was there with each tear that's shed
as the news reported, There is thousands dead!'

HE was in the hyjacked planes so out of control
His angels collecting each passenger's soul!
HE was there at the buildings of the World Trade Center
with Heaven's gates wide open bidding all to enter!

HE was there in every tired body and grimy face
that refused to give in to another trying to take his place!
HE was there amongst every common place hero
who repeatedly dug through the rubble in New York's ground zero!

HE was there with the passenger's of Flight 74
whose sacrifice kept the enemy from the White House door!
HE was there with those that died at the Pentagon
when another plane flew into them like a bomb!

HE was there when thousands of passengers landed
unable to get home, so on Canadian soil they were stranded!
HE was there in the smiles of the Maritime youth
who came with blankets, fresh clothing and hot bowls of soup!

HE was there when the President cried out with pride
'This will only make us stronger, we have GOD on our side!'
HE was there when AMERICA was at Iraq's door
teaching the Taliban what happens when you provoke a war!

HE is there today as countless others reflect on the loss
just as HE watched HIS only Son die upon the cross! HE WAS THERE!

My life and my Mom

God gave me life and mom made my life
From the time I was made, to the time I came to life
From the long nine months, to the time I made it to life
From the time of birth, to the time I had life
From the time of breast feed, to the time I began life
From the time I could crawl, to the time I walked to life

From the time I was sick, to the time my health was hectic
From the time of medication, when I could only use chronic
From the time I was asthmatic, to the time I looked pathetic
From the time I had eczema, to the time it was very septic

From the time I was dirty, to the time she made me clean
From the time I was sweet, to the time I became mean
From the time I was weak, she was there for me to lean
From the time I was a little man, to time I was a grown man

I’m proud of my mom even though I lost my father
She made me a man & she did the same for my brother
I owe my life to God & I give my gratitude to my mother
She made me a son, a brother and one day I’ll be a father

Watch The Horizon

That orange-pink sky
takes my breath away.
So pure and lovely
it spreads across the horizon.

But as the sky grows darker and darker
The pink fades to purple
The orange to red
The light blue to a colder blue
Night is coming.

Before i knew it
The sky was glimmering in stars
The full moon shining brightly over head
The wind picked up a bit
And i shivered

The night was cold
And the dark made it colder.
As an action to stay warm
I pulled up my collar
But it didn't work.

I quickly made my way home
Being sure no one saw
For they didn't know i was out.
For they didn't know i was waiting for my miracle.

I wake up early the next morning
And head outside.
The birds were starting to wake up
The sky was turning that soft pink color
Of sunrise.

I quickened my pace
to make it on time.
And just as it began i made it to the stop

The sunrise was beautiful
and it took away my breath.
I smiled to myself and thought my wish.
I had a feeling,
Something good will happen.
All i had to do was watch the sun set.

With hope in my heart
And joy filling my body
I jogged home.

The day was passing
and the sunset was coming
I needed to get out
Right Now!
I excused myself and quickly went outside

I ran to the stop.
Panting and tired i made it a little late
The sky was an amazing orange/purple color
I smiled despite the day i had.

Once again the sunset was ending
But today it was different
Today a figure walked toward me
And deep in my heart i knew it was you.

5 years, 8 months, 12 weeks
25 days, 24 hours, 30 minutes
was all it took

To see you walking back to me from war
ALIVE.
And all i did
was Watch the Horizon

Dedicated to all those families who have a loved one in the military. We wish for their safe return. God Bless them all!

Dear Mom

I love you mom.
I wish there was a word to describe my appreciation.
But there’s not a word to compare
To my feelings that are really there.
I also want to thank you
Not just from a son but a brother.
I praise you as the greatest mother.
Growing up in near poverty,
Never doing without.
You passed that test no doubt.
For this I’m blessed.
Plus thru it all you never turned your back,
Really what more could I ask?
I love you mom
I have to say thank you for going above and beyond!!!!

i lay over my brother
i feel so proud,
is this what a brother
is all about,
to take you under my wing you see
a will be there if you need me,
to look at you with a mighty smile
you make my life all worth while,
so sleepy as you lay there
a new born brother with no hair,

what will you be when you grow up
i will be around if you need shook up,
all the beauty mother gave to you
she gave you life that,s so true,
my heart melts as you look on up
to your brother who gives you love,

a bonnie baby as you are,
with cheeky smiles and endless love,
to watch you walk and follow me,
i will learn you how even to pee,
as the things when we grow up
learn you to shave with out a cut,

that,s many years to come as yet,
we will bug mum to buy a pet,
things will be good when you grow up,
to chase the girls and show them love,

we will be by each others side,
hope am there when you find a bride.
my little brother i give you love,
i will be quiet in case you wake up,

will look over your shoulder and watch you breath,
just remember i am there if you need me,
all the time when your around,
i both hope we make our mother proud,
with our hearts we hope this is true,
my little brother i do love you,,,

missing dog, Blackie. Besides the sound of our voices, the hymns playing softly in the
background, the noise made by the porcelain plates as Mama wiped and put them
away, the humming of the refrigerator’s motor, the house was quiet. No body knew
what had happened to Blackie. We were really concerned about the whereabouts
of the dog, even though Papa had assured us that he would return at some point.
Since the funeral, he had vanished. Even the old man who lived across the street
from us and who loved Blackie, had not seen him, nor had any of the other
neighbors. We had searched in all the usual places. He had never run away from
home before. As far as I remember, Blackie never did come back home.

As Papa sat in his usual chair, quietly playing with the food on his plate, the kitchen
door opened, and in walked Thomas, Brian’s best friend. They were the same age,
and were very close even though they did not attend the same school, or the same
church. The two had become friends since they met at a Junior Boys Scouts meeting
at the age of seven. Thomas lived some distance away but they maintained a
special friendship. Out of school, wherever Brian was, so Thomas would be. They’d
both turned fourteen last September. Throughout those years they still were active
members of the Boys Scout, and had risen together in rank. Thomas had been away
on the recent Scouting trip. They had traveled to a neighboring country for a Scouts’
Jamboree. Brian should have gone too but something to do with school exams came
up so he couldn’t go. Thomas had just returned from the Jamboree that Saturday
afternoon, the second week after Brian’s burial. Lena, Reggie and I got out of
our chairs and ran to greet him. It was like welcoming him and Brian home as the
two were always together. He picked Lena up as he greeted our parents. Mama
standing at the sink, turned around, took one look at him and walked briskly, almost
running out of the kitchen, with my other sister in tow.

Papa greeted Thomas, his voice almost inaudible. Thomas looked puzzled. I guess
he thought he had walked in during a family argument. He was about to turn back
and walk out because he felt a little intrusive, I guess. It was extremely quiet in the
room; very unusual when everyone was in Mama’s kitchen at the same time. And
Mama, walking

away like she did, made him ask what was going on. That yielded no response. The
silence hung heavily in the kitchen. Finally, he asked, “Is Brian in his room?” He
looked at my oldest sister, Winnie who sat next to Papa. She didn’t respond.
Instead, she looked up at him with tears in her eyes. Thomas was as tall as Brian.
At 14years old, they were 6’ tall. Winnie bowed her head to hide her tears. She
looked down at her plate before her. Thomas turned halfway around and was about
to head towards the door leading towards Brian’s room, when Papa let out a deep,
long sigh and motioned to Thomas to come sit next to him. Winnie got up to give
Thomas her chair and Papa, with his voice low and cracked, told Thomas that his
best friend had passed away. The humming of the fridge seemed much louder
then. Looking back now, seeing Thomas’s face, I knew he wanted to laugh but he
stopped just short of that, and his countenance changed in an instant! A painful
grimace appeared on his face. His voice became shaky as he tried to mumble
something. He looked at each of us as if checking each face to see if someone
would soon break into laughter, at this absurd joke. After a while, he took a deep
breath, convinced now, that he was reading everyone’s face correctly. Brian’s Dad
wouldn’t joke about something like this. He thought to himself. Then all the reactions
he had seen as he entered the kitchen, finally registered, confirming that this was
not a joke. He nearly fell out of the chair, as it toppled over to the floor. He began
retreating slowly towards the kitchen door; his whole body still visibly shaking, he
said loudly, shaking his head in disagreement, that it wasn’t possible. “It is just not
possible!” He shouted. Yet, there was no response. Winnie was sobbing, tears
rolling down her face. He then asked if Brian had run away or something. Still the
room was as quiet as a tomb. Not a sound from anyone, only the constant humming
and the hymns being played on the local Christian radio station softly wafted across
the room. He then blurted out, “Because,” he

Those Close to Us Can Cause Much Hurt And Pain

Those Close To Us Can Cause Much Hurt And Pain... Isn’t it amazing… The hurt and damage, someone can do? Especially by the same person who said; “I Love You!” Isn’t it amazing… How someone, which we’ve given our heart… Can betray our love, and “tear it all apart?” On that special day, when your vows were exchanged… It’s almost like “overnight,” some people change! Even amongst Christians. This seems too commonplace. As people seek their own desires… Instead of God’ grace. Isn’t it amazing… How anger, jealousy and bitterness begins? Even amongst our loved ones, that we have called “friends?” What’s more amazing… Is how God, in his mercy and care.. Still loves us. And he is always there! No matter what you’ve said… No matter what you’ll do…. God remains the same. And is always there for YOU! He is faithful. His commitment to you is strong and secure! His love is everlasting. And is 100% PURE! I stand amazed, as to how God still loves us. He asks for our heart. He wants to trust us! Won’t you come and experience his love today? He loves you so much more than words could ever say! By Jim Pemberton

Walked Away

When she first left I was suspended
in fear
Confused and alone, I just couldn’t
believe my ears
I could not trust that what they
heard was real
That you could just leave and not
understand what I feel

For sixteen years, you were a
presence in my life
Then one fateful day you
disappeared overnight
You left us for him and never looked
back
Farewell my sister, you’ve taken a
different track

A road that keeps you forever from
me
I don’t think you realised how painful
it would be
For yourself and myself, for our
mother and our father
And above all the one that you hurt
the most, you liar

We both know who it was so it need
not be said
You ruined a life and his spark is now
dead
Unbelievable as your absence, this is
far worse
You turned on our brother and it was
all just a farce

Not only do I still struggle to live with
my past
Again and again my world shakes,
uncontrollably fast
Only a few years after you left
someone else followed
Into the darkness he walked, the
darkness it swallowed

If that was not painful enough, I still
had to live on
I had to forge ahead and I had to be
strong
I had people who depended on my
courage and strength
I had to walk the line and I had to
walk its length

First it was my sister and now it was
my father
Maybe if I did something, maybe if I
tried harder
Maybe they wouldn’t have left,
walked away
Maybe they would have found
enough love for me to stay

Ode to Anine

The angels smiled the day you were born ,
To your mother Janne and your father Shawn.
Everyone's dreams came true
And that Anine was because of you.

On the 23rd. of October you entered the world,
A momentous ocassion more priceless than gold.
Your ruby red cheeks , that cute little mouth,
That is really what life is about.

Those almond shaped eyes that cute button nose,
A combination of both parents I suppose.
You're truly a treasure and mummy's pearl
You're also daddy's adorable baby girl.
Big brother Henrik will protect you from harm
When he holds you tenderly in his arms.

Two loving hearts coming together
You really are birds of a feather.
You are the proof that true love reigns supreme,
By the timely arrival of this tiny human being.

What Has Happened To The Family

I remember growing up in a Christian family.
We were content, joyful and quite happy.

Things were "going along rather well."
We loved each other... more than words could tell.

I think of the special love
between mom and dad.
As my parents... I was proud and glad!

Over the years that rolled on by.
Something happened. I don't know why.

Our deep love became
replaced with "excuses."
Our relationshps filed with
 "barsh words and bruises."

This family... I once held so close to my heart.
Began to "unravel and fall apart."

Our love for another became bitter and cold.
Even to the day we're "growing old."

Everywhere... it is evident and appearing.
The family as a unit is quickly disappearing.

We must come together and
remove all bitterness.
And walk in God's love and his forgiveness!

We must appreciate one another--
in spite of our faults!
Standing together on Godly principles
brings good results!

It we insist on "going our separate ways."
We'll be sorry "one of these days!"

The family is what God has put together.
It needs to be rooted in love--
both now and forever!

HIS love needs to be the glue
that binds us as one.
Blessing every mom and dad...
daughter and son!

14

14 was when we waved goodbye,
to be set off in this world of danger.
14 was when he lost me,
and I lost her.
What a price to pay
for a mother.
What a burden to have
bare.
To be lost,
Weak,
wounded.

The lioness watches her own be
Taken away into the darkness
To the mouths of ghostly,
Dominant males.
Evil, red eyed beasts.
How can she take this pain?
This crowned,
broken heart brought before her.

She is calling them in the night.
Howling for them to come
consume her body in minutes,
alleviating all the pain
from this lost love.
Lost in the darkness.
Astray.
They are full now,
done feasting.
I’m heading back home.

The second sun
has ascended.
He is surprisingly beautiful.
A path of light and direction
I have always wanted to be.
My pathway of righteousness
Without heartbreak.
Feeling anguish now,
Wasting time again.

I’ve just now realized
all this time,
You were the howling
that’s been calling me back home.
been too far along now
In this sea of death.
Its my time now,
Its time for you to bring me home.

When Life Get's TOUGH

I’m here to tell you that when “the going get’s rough…” A simple, “God bless you!” May not be enough! Just when you think things in life are getting you down… And perhaps there’s “not a friend anywhere to be found…” Perhaps… Right now… You find yourself right there! Let me encourage you to try some prayer! Jesus is as close as the mention of his name! With him in control… Things will never be the same! He’ll speak peace to the raging waters of life’s ocean… And will give to you… His 100% “love potion!” He’ll bring peace and healing to your heart and home. He’s always there with you. You’re NEVER alone! The chains of discouragement will simply disappear… His perfect love will cast out all fear! He’ll pick up the pieces of life that are broken... As you allow his words of love and hope to be spoken. He’ll do for you what no power or god can do… He’s here right now He’s waiting for YOU! By Jim Pemberton 04/26/11

Tuesday morning when it all began
Four Jet Airliners
Hi-jacked at will
To fly their mission
To kill, blood spill

Target chosen
New York City
No questions asked
No pity

Internal flight
Laid-en with fuel
Turned off course
To the Hi-jackers rule
Islamist, al-Qaeda is the name they claim
What honest faith
Would want this fame
To take these lives on this September day
It's not what religion should portray

Nineteen jackers, whats on their minds
To do their deed on their own mankind
No scriptures, books of the olden day
Would let any brother, be slain this way
What battle would be, without seeing your killers eyes
This nineteen, the world despise

Our modern world on camera caught
Jet Airliners flying the next so fraught
North Tower hit by flight 11
Then the South by flight 175
All aboard the planes, would not survive
Many compatriots would also die.

Two explosions in just under an hour

Paper and life fall to the ground
Silenced grief makes no sound
To New York City, that never sleeps

There is Life Beyond Death's Door

Mama stood at the kitchen sink, quietly drying the dishes and putting them away. I
knew
she was crying because every now and then she would wipe her eyes with the hem
of her
apron. She hadn’t been eating much, lately. She looked so tired and drained. She
was a
tall, beautiful woman. At 40 years old she looked as if she had just turned 30. She
was on a
leave of absence and had been keeping busy around the house, constantly
cleaning,
scrubbing and washing. In hindsight, now I know she was only trying to keep busy
so she
wouldn’t think about her first born son. Mama had slept so much the week before. I
remember wondering, back then, asking myself, was she also sick? I was too afraid
to ask
out loud. I would lie next to her in her bed and watch her sleep. Her stirring
reinsured me
that she was fine-only sleeping. You see, my oldest sister, Winnie, after Brian died,
had
explained to me what dying was. So then I knew that dying was like sleeping, only
you
never wake up. I was not going to let my Mama die also. I would bring into her bed,
my
coloring books and pencils and would sit on that bed until she woke up. Sometimes,
I would
fall asleep, then awake to find her sitting on the edge of the bed, saying her rosary
and I
would join her. In some ways I was like Mama. We were both of quiet spirits but
she was
strong and also an extrovert. She made friends easily. I on the other hand, was
shy,
stubborn and introverted. Later on as I got older, our personality would clash on
many
occasions.

It was a Saturday afternoon in May. We were all sitting at the kitchen table. We,
kids were
eating all the sweets because Mama and Papa were distracted. There was still
plenty of food
left over from the week before. Mama’s many friends had really showered her with
love.
They had cooked and cleaned and comforted her as much as they could. Mama and
Papa
very seldom ate any food, which seemed to last forever. My older siblings were lost
in their
own thoughts and grief, my younger sister, Lena, my cousin Reggie and I ate
heartily of
anything we liked. Being the youngest of the group, we did not fully understand
what was
going on. We were talking amongst ourselves about our

The Roof

When they were burning the huts outside,
Bringing down the roofs and orphaning those inside...
Unaware and protected from their wrath,
I understood 'love'in your warmth...

When they made a hero out of me,
Irrespective of how ordinary my actions be...
Under your shield, I made the correct choice,
Building character and maintaining poise...

When in everything they saw only my ill,
And inside, i too was loosing my will...
Through that tunnel all darkening,
In your caresses, I kept walking...

My roof, for all your strife,
I owe you much more than my life...
Feel blessed to have you, my roof,
For once God's presence needs no worldly proof...

Dedicated to the people who have done everything in their capacity to help you be what you wanted to be....our Gods on earth!!!

lost and found

Im lost in this darkness this
world of destruction my brother
is not my brother and our
mother loves us not running
with many only a few with
flashlights who will make it to
the light as the night grows
stronger I feel as if I'm weaker
laughing with those who laugh
at me and not with me we can
not be friends because no one
knows what that is anymore I
can not love because I haven't
felt it before I can not give you
truth because no one showed
me how, I can not care for you
because Im careless for self i
am running alone in this
darkness with many running too
some have flashlights but while
running i open my eyes realizing
it was never dark eyes wide
shut is what my grandmother
says find love in yourself child
let pain and anger go i feel like
I've been alone for a long time
all the while god was with me
the whole time, i gave my mind
to the streets my body to those
not deserving my heart to those
who didn't need it, they came
and gone ripping me into pieces
i found comfort in sin with all
the sinners but he saved me
because I'm worth it to him
GOD came into my room while i
laid in the dark drugged up and
drunk and he kissed me and
said my child NO PAIN, I LOVE
YOU EVEN THO YOU DONT LOVE
YOU I HAVENT GIVEN YOU
ANYTHING I DIDNT FEEL YOU
COULD HANDLE, my mother
killed herself, my husband was
murdered in front of me what
do i have to live for why not run
threw darkness no one cares
how i feel inside they take i
give, YOU HAVE KNOWLEDGE
USE IT, but it was a dream or
was it i have opened my eyes
wide open i feel i am loved i am
worth it i am blessed!!!!!!

Who Love's Ya Baby

who loves ya baby
hmmm now let me see

I know my mommy did
even though her shoes I did hid

I think my daddy did
when I didn't make him snid

brothers and sisters well maybe just a little
when I didn't get in the middle

my grandpa and grandma surely does
for I'll do anything for them just because

I know my little girl loves her momma
even better than president Obama

my dogs and cats loves me
even if they continue to make me sneeze

even my close friends new and old still spark the love
for we will alway's go on and well above

paperboy surely does
cause I tip him for keeping my paper out of bushes and shrubs

milkman used to
when I didn't make him shu

bill collectors oh yes
for I'm their baby who they love the best

so who loves me
well lets just continue to see

Late

Here in my driest days
I can’t complain
Holding on
To a piece of home

How late my brother sings

As I wash my face
I put my hands in place
Inside my window pane
A perfect picture plain

How late my mother sings

How I wonder when
If when, this season ends
As I sip from my coffee cup
This fragrance loses touch

How late my brother sings

Up and down
These county roads
Snowflakes tease
My driest palms
Within your hands I place
My purity as a man and race

how late my mother sings

"songs from insomnia"

DARKNESS

My
dad
passed
away on
February
15, 2006.
The funeral
was on February
21, 2006. My brother
had to move out of the
house. He lived with my
dad. He had to be out of
the house by June 10, 2006.
We went to see him and my
mom eight days later. My brother
decided NOT to give me his new phone
number or address. My mom is in the hospital
for the rest of her life. She is unable to stand on
her two feet. We visited her and she was somewhat
distant. I left California so DISAPPOINTED and sad!
I'm grieving the loss of my dad. I feel like my brother
DISOWNS me and doesn't care about my husband and
our three children. My heart is broken and I feel like I'm in
a very DARK CORNER.

August Eighth

Chapter One
Boy into the West

Dawn upon my cloak
Urged and so converged were the guns
Seeding myself with the rest

I broke in the eye of the Sun
Settling my mind on the heartless rapist. Time
Rasterize the faces

So thumb through the annals
Purged and so emerged fleshy etchings of this child
Breast wheels churn uncertainly

Moistened embers dance to the deafening drum
Tidal ducts offer piquant waters of the Pacific coffer
I arrive on the sands

Chapter Two
Hole in the Wall

Deserted in this mind
Hover in and now behind
Stare blank up through the ceiling stucco

Gathering in the stench of ghastly breath of wine
The New Year clothes itself topside
Unfashionable walls crush youthful spirit I drink alone, until morning

Demons of mine in lethargy
Gnawed and sluggish slivers bond my illness
Horizons of hues of shapes the girl knowing

Waking sweat cools slyly treats itself to my tongue
Warmth of girl takes my breath save the end of I prepare
God, are you there?

Chapter Three
Erosion

All in the deflection
Though his reflection isn't mine
Blood in kind of brotherly loving spiteful me
We close our doors of aid restraining love I have

For angry boys reject the angry drudge
Slave to a toilsome loving grudge
It is raining erosion

Blinding contortion
Why in my hands I can't see you yet
My rock there I can’t see her stand

These matters wash away too comfortably
I the destined rock
To erode on as grain of sand

Chapter Four
Facing the Crow

Give to the death
Long confronting his road
Gurge open those words she once clung on

Hung from the rope he dove to the end
I die decay per diem death
Metaling her heart on his mindless last breath

I survive only by his hand...

When the Children Cry

When the children cry Hold their hand Their only young Help them understand When the children cry Console their thoughts Reassure Don't leave them distraught When the children cry Hold them close For in any circles We love them most When the children cry Disperse their fear Dry their eyes Their young felt tears When the children cry http://www.thehighlanderspoems.com/life-3.php

No Color or Relgion, Ever Stopped a Bullet from a Gun

I heard on the news
Another two are lost
That makes 206
Is there, a whatever the cost

We are there to assist
A country so reft
Inner fighting
To help the rest of the left

Guerrilla warfare
Tactically strong
Thousands of miles
Where we don't belong

The people we vote in
Would they go in their place
To show their people
Dying is no disgrace

I will never allow
My children to fight
A war so improper
A conflict not right

To show our presence
As we parade their land
A remote explosion
Blown up on demand

How can we serve
A regime so unfair
They can starve their women
Because he can't have her there

To fight for their freedom
As they fight themselves
The decision should be made
To save ourselves

The Russians failed
So now we try
Coalition troops
In daily die

The modern wars
Will always be run
No color or religion
Ever stopped a bullet from a gun

Absolution

I let the pussy go today; he scratched me to get away
I told him to take the tool with him
Because it would prick me instead of helping me
I took the arrows out of my back
There are bits of stone left behind from the arrowheads
But I don’t feel them anymore
I took my four small bottles of Holy Water
And gave them to people who respect me
Then I went to the ocean
I took my heart shaped shell
It was broken in two
I stepped into the waves and let the waters cover my feet
Slowly I opened my hand
And let the pieces fall into the water
I watched them for a long time as they tumbled to and fro in the waves
This was the hardest to let go of
I knelt in the water and pondered how the shell moved toward me
And then away from me with the tide
Some people believe all life came from the sea
But I know this letting go is best for me
And as I get up and turn my back on the ocean
I walk slowly but with a confident stride
Not looking back
Not ever looking back
Forgiveness has been given
My footsteps in the sand will disappear over time
Like I already have
And that’s alright
The boulder has been lifted off my chest
And I look straight ahead, walk through the sand
Up the steps, along the fence
And into my future

Rwanda Wrongs

In 1957, there existed a plan
To rid Rwanda of the Tutsi clan
Power they had, too much for one side
The foundation for, future Genocide

1960, the monarchy was gone
Will both sides sing the same song
Sadly not as the persecutions start
Ripping this African country apart

1973, under a new regime
Juvénal Habyarimana promised restrain
Progress and reconciliation proposed to be
For this country to unite, finally

1994, Habyarimana gunned down
His assassination, country drowns
This killing of him, the carnage starts
Population half, ripped apart

The killings horrific, no one spared
Machete slain, heads caved
Hacking, be-headings as families fall
As CNN tune in, the world appalled

The continuance, of the slaughtered tribes
Men, women and children you can't describe
Women raped, and the unborn slain
This horrific act of human pain

Most of the fallen, in their own villages dead
By another clan, they thought were friends
Indescribable to the world as our televisions show
The massacre of innocents, as we watch blow by blow

Where does it all end, can we try the same songs
How many more of these Rwanda wrongs
It appears to be a human trait
To kill each other for the sake of it

for the childrens sake

Sep 4 2007

Deep pain and misery
 Shuts among the little ones
 They cry for help
 No one to understand
 Mother is always out drinking
Father is abusing them
Big sister and brother are at school
Just only wanting to be loved
But the family does not want to
 As the children grew older
The hate sunk in
Their mother was dying
 Father was in jail
Big sister lived on the streets
Brother was following his father's steps
The children did not care
They grew up not knowing what a family was like
When they finally became parents
The cycle began

For Chris

My heart flutters inside my chest
like a blood red butterfly
frantically trapped in a wire cage
full of rage
knowing its life span is short
Houston, we have a problem,
mission abort.

Crush the butterfly in your trembling hand,
blood soaked sand
under your feet
the secret you cannot dare repeat,
iron fist to stem the weakling's tremors,
do you remember?

'Cause the porch hammock of childhood
has long rotted away
and the day
the day
you'll never forget,
unable to wipe the images from your mind
after all this time

Still fresh and vibrant as you roll over,
the seventeenth of October
the day that time ended for you,
lips turning blue,
relive it every time you're not distracted,
ambushed and attacked it
blinds you to life

and then he took a knife
and you know it will never end
its part of your being
warping all feeling
and you understand completely
what drove him mad

and it's so sad
that genetically he was more like
you than any other,
my brother,
my brother.

unspeakable

let's speak of the unspeakable
the horrid, heartless, maybe headless tale

let's speak of small children,
gaunt with indifference, both of and for
the sunken eyes, the distended belly
the insects hovering about...waiting

let's speak of hospital corridors
hushed conversations with green-scrubbed
doctors and nurses, the welling of tears
unready to find peace in the parting

let's speak of nighttime raids under
star-filled skies, the flash of tracers
and night goggles with green eyes
and anguished old mothers seeing
young men with sandals and Kalashnikovs

let us speak of morning mothers
calling children to breakfast
seen hanging around closet hooks from
taunting things they could not stand
and family forced questions of why

let's speak of dear souls we
would do anything for but are unable
as they refuse their meds and
talk to the un-seeable and listen
to what the voices tell them to do

let us speak of shiny nights on
florescent streets with young women
the richly dark men, lady killers, driven
telling them to climb on in
she's a lot like the daughter

let's speak of visits from
the local police or sheriff,
equally bereft, the color-guard
to softly express their deep regret
as we crumple on the porch step

let us speak of paneled rooms with
mahogany meeting tables and white-papers
recommending divestiture of expendables
who are actually people, with lives

let's speak of our own fears
that we hold each to heart
well closeted and cloistered
maybe even from ourselves
let's shine some light to banish shadow

let us speak of the unspeakable and
thereby remove its interdiction
take its power, and throw it in the air
to the wind, to be blown free,
free of fear, the anguish of unsaid...said.

hard times just like now

Hard times just like now?
The looting in streets of Britain made me think back to my own childhood.
Winter 1948, mother had two newspaper rounds one in the morning one in
the afternoon. The pay was low; good thing she could take home unsold
papers which, was good for the fire. My older brother used to go out at night
with sink buckets, down to the coal depot stealing. After he had been caught
twice he was sent to a youth correction centre. Winter of 1948 was a hard,
but we had old furniture mother had inherited from her father. It burnt well.
Spring, we only had an old sofa left, which I slept on, and two rickety chairs.
We’re lucky mother got a job cleaning the offices of a banana company that
imported bananas and cured them in the backrooms. Fruits that were black
we got and it was a life saver. Mother now had three jobs. It wasn’t enough.
she had to ask the social services and got coupons for jumpers and clogs.
All this took a heavy toll on mother’s health’s she got tuberculoses and sent
to a sanatorium. The family was split up. Except for my brother stealing coal
we never thought of looting shops, perhaps we should have, I liked a pair of
black leather clogs I saw displayed in a shop window a spring day in 1948.

Are Things In Your Life Out Of Place

Are Things In Life "Out Of Place?"

I visited a garage sale. And had a
surprised look on my face.
I noticed that some things
 were "out of place."

To my right... Was a shelf filled with books..
And Christian ones too.
To my left...  Was a sign that read;
"I have adult movies for you."

I wondered and thought with
some kind of amazement.
"Does this person read these books.
 And watch this "entertainment?"

This is common in many Christian homes...
Often... People cross God's
"boundaries" and "safety zones."

Anyone can go to church.
Pray, sing and "shed a tear."
Not realizing that sin's temptation
 is drawing ever so near.

Do you seek God's holiness and the
power of Jesus' name?
But each night... Before bedtime...
 Things aren't quite the same...

Have you opened up your heart
and mind... And live life unfulfilled?
Is this the way you ought to live?
Is this what God has willed?

He desires to live inside of you.
  And help you to discover.
With any stronghold in life.
He'll help you to recover!

Are things in life "out of place?"
And need to be put back together?
Allow God's word to guide you!
His promises are forever!

Everything will be where it should be...
With Jesus In control!
Only he can defeat the enemy that
seeks to destroy your soul!

Why the Rose Bled

Parents so proud
Four sons they raised
From the Highlands of Scotland
In the pre-war days

On their crofts they worked
Morning till night
Unknown to them then
Off a future fight

The Germans have invaded
A country so free
Poland was taken
The world shaken visually

Britain declares war
As our men enlist
To rid the enemy
As the fighting shifts

Europe's engulfed
In a feverish war
Many are dying
To comprehend what for

The four brothers
Sign up to fight
As a mother will pray
Every night

Campaigns they fight
In these theatres of war
Witnessing horrors
Never seen before

In their garden at home
On the family crofts
A bed of roses
With petals so soft

Then one day
With a passing glance
A pink rose dripping red
In deathly stance

Their mother turns
To the gate she looks
Telegram in hand
From the postman she took

With trembling hands
She opens with care
Upon reading the message
In tear laden stare

Their eldest son
In Africa was lost
As many many others
Deaths global cost

Every day
As she passes the rose
It's pink petals bloom
Her tomorrow's fear grows

Do You Hold A Grudge

I knew of a "brother" who held a grudge.
From his position. He wouldn't "budge."

When asked why he held this...
 against a certain person.
Having nothing to do with him.
 He was certain!

The reason for this grudge...
Is probably "silly" to many.
When asked for a good reason.
There wasn't any.

He said; "I don't hold any
kind of unforgiveness."
"What I do..." "It's none of your business!"

"I don't hold a grudge and I
 want to be clear!"
"There are some people...
 I wish weren't here!"

Are there people in your life
who've been "shut out.?"
"Is this what being Christ' example is all about?

Living for Christ is not about who we "avoid."
If a life of Godliness is to be fully enjoyed.

We can make "excuses" to stay
 away from somebody.
This could be your brother.
Neighbor. Or anybody.

Christ gave his life and wants
us to follow his rules...
He knows all about us.... And is never fooled!

May your life be filled with
compassion for every soul.
In doing this... You'll be made
complete and whole!

Discover true freedom. Leave any
"grudges" in the past.
Enjoy true victory in Christ...
And a peace that 'll last!

Momma

I miss you momma
Hi, momma
I'm your little baby girl
Momma

I’m here keeping a loving watchful
Eye on you momma

We don't want you to worry
I
Wish I could have been there

But now since I’m a full pledge
Angel
My duties are to love the mortal
Baby Angels

Momma I have my wings I want
You to know

Do you miss me momma?

Momma I kiss you last night while
You slept
You were crying in your sleep
Don’t worry momma

Please don't worry
Your babies are ok

I’m doing fine
I get to play with other angels like
Me
Just babies you see
We fly
We laugh
We go to one field of happiness
To another
Just been happy children momma
So don’t cry momma

Oh yes there is a lot of us here
Momma

I have many many friends

I have my wings momma
Did I tell you that?
Momma I seen my brother yesterday
He said he love and miss you too

But no need to be so sad momma
He’s ok
He worries for you a lot

He hate to see you cry

You know momma he visit you a
Lot
He sprinkles little roses fragrances
Around your room while you sleep
He said it makes you rest better and
I think it do

My brother and I was bouncing on a
Cloud momma

We look down and we seen you kneeling
Down by the brook
He cried because you were
Crying and he talked with God about you
So he knows you are ok
He said he don’t want you to worry
Momma
Momma you will be ok

Momma I love you momma me and my
Brother we do

So momma don’t cry
We picked you the pretties rose in heaven
Momma
We laid it on your pillow
So don’t cry momma
Mother’s day will be happy for you
We planned it out momma
We want you to have a happy mother
Day

We'll be there by your side momma
We are never to far from you momma

Babylon

my uncle was married
before he met her
sure it was to his first cousin

My brother was trying to help her
she cried for days about being raped

My grandmother gave her a job
and a place to stay

Friends with benefits
to my uncle and brother
family upset
not realising she is a con artist

My brother and Uncle
kindling a family feud
over a woman who conned my grandma
my brother and then my uncle

I live in the same building as her
after my brother lost his head
and i don't blame him
evicted from a whole village
leaving me stuck here, trapped

she walks into a room
the men bend over backwards
I try to tell her to stop wasting men's time
for their money
lieing about love is a dangerous game
men get upset when they have been conned through sex
when they could have spent that time
with someone genuine

The village in unrest
busy trying to justify her for being the victom she claims to be
In this situation at no fault of my own
I just sit here and wait for her to make the same mistakes
so it will be clear to them what the truth is when i tell them all

she conned my grandma
lied about love to my brother
split up my aunt and uncle
and now shes in a position of power over what people here think of me

Not for long though
the truth will rise
They will all know soon
the black and white of her inbetween the lines
She is babylon to me
a headless beast with breasts

apparently no oone thinks of the situation through my eyes
just easier to use babylon for sex

The Day After Your Brithday

THE DAY AFTER YOUR BIRTHDAY,
YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR TO SEE:
A) YOU'VE GOT A ZIT FROM EATING ALL THAT CAKE;
B) YOUR LOVE HANDLES HAVE EXPANDED A HALF INCH;
C) YOU SINGED YOUR EYEBROWS BLOWING OUT THE CANDLES.
THE DAY AFTER YOUR BIRTHDAY,
A) YOU REQUIRE SIX EXTRA HOURS OF SLEEP;
B) YOU CAN'T FIND YOUR LIVING ROOM UNDER THE BIRTHDAY DEBRIS;
C) YOU WONDER HOW YOU COULD POSSIBLY HAVE DONE THAT.
THE DAY AFTER YOUR BIRTHDAY, IT'S TIME TO:
A) RETURN SOME GIFTS (WHAT IS THAT, ANYWAY?);
B) CALL YOUR FRIENDS AND APOLOGIZE FOR YESTERDAY;
C) GET OUT OF THE COUNTRY, FAST.
THE DAY AFTER YOUR BIRTHDAY...
WE SHOULD ALL LOOK SO GREAT
AND HAVE IT SO GOOD!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
APPRECIATE YOURSELF AND YOUR LIFE!

My Ever Loving Brother Deva

My Ever Loving Brother Deva..... The moment you were born We were all happy to see you You were precious gift to us from God My mother held you in her arms You were charming and we named you Deva We hugged you a sign of affection and love We hugged you a sign of little loving baby You were growing up as special person We took so much care about you But your death brought us a great shock I asked God why did my brother have to die Our tears of sadness still roll over our eyes And sad for our mother who believes you are still alive I know when nature calls one has to leave this world On that day I will meet you in the same world where you are But till then my tears will not stop for you....... I Think I can

I was playing a game
When my brother came
He is a great fool
Who kept a strict rule
He was very cruel
And we both use to have a dual
He began to use sharp tool
To he went to high school
My mother is very kind
She is always at the behind
Helping me in all kind
She always use to teach
With a beautiful speech
Until the top I reach
Then about my ambition
This has a long mission
I want to be a business man
I think I can

my family lost

an angry father with no love
no acceptance there even a hug
a detached mother never a smile
ive seen her happy but its been awhile
a drugged out sister who raised me right
finds release with blade of a knife
my dear brother scarred for life
sorrowful crying fills the night
my family means the world and more
but loving me is their biggest chore
not a pleasure not a privilege
my heart soars but then they kill it
not all is bad at times they fake it
but false smiles cant always make it
a beaten child here i lay
waiting for the darkness of day
mother tries but cant hold on
sister only hits the bong
brother distant in great need
father reason i sometimes bleed
they are all i have they are my nothing
hoping, groping to find something
i hold them dear i love them so
better to fight than let go
divorce ending what had been
some chose faith and others sin
my brother chose nothing though i try
to be an anchor in a sea of night
still he drifts away so far away
living life one bad day to bad day
sister to high to hear my cries
pushing back the harder i try
i want her to see the light
i wont give up without a fight
father once so happy and energetic
now drained and sees me as pathetic
was so loving and full of life
now gets drunk and wants a fight
mother lost as i try to lead the way back
still slipping so far off track
i cant stand to see her cry
though it happens every night
i love my family they are all i ever had
and ill stand by them in good and bad
i love you family please come home
im so sick of being alone
i need you now more than ever
i need someone to make it better
i need a smile instead of shouts
i need words from the heart not the mouth
please family find me here
please leave behind the beer
leave the drugs and the knife
leave the darkness in the night
leave your new world ill make this one better
i said it once and ill say it forever
my world is lost without the center
family you are the core
everything that i adore
ill make every effort i want it back
the happiness of our long lost past

Brothers

Their true brothers, Who stand tall, In this world alone .
Nobody has known, How the stood, Side by side . A bond so true

They’ve brought joy to my heart, Yet many a worrying day .
Their so alike, In so many different ways .
The joys they’ve brought me, Remains in my heart.
Till my dying day.

Their my sons, My life my world .
A love so strong, Only a mother knows.
The true pride and joy, From there silent love .
From Her sons alone. A true mother knows

Give Us A Drag

Give us a Drag

I followed my brother and his mates
To the allotments that was great
There they sat inside a tent
Passing around a cigarette bent

Smoking the fag a puff at a time
But not letting me now that was a crime
So off to my mother I ran straight away
To tell her about the game I could not play

She urgently followed, to the tent I led
And dragged my brother out by the ears on his head
He called me a tell tale, but he could not brag
I told him you should have given me a drag

On hearing this, my mother said come over here
Then she smacked me in the rear
So both of us had to go up to our room
Stayed there until late afternoon

Later that day as they smoked once again
This time they let me much to my disdain
Take in the smoke and swallow it down
I did I remember just like a clown

I coughed up my heart and lungs to
Nobody seemed to know what to do
One thing for certain I could not go to mum
For she would have killed me for being so dumb

Those Who Have Wronged Us

Those Who Have Wronged Us… I had a loved one whom I thought loved me. I couldn’t understand how she would treat me! I thought she was a Christian. She said she was. She told me; “I don’t like you just because!” As the years went by, just the way she lived. I wanted nothing to do with her! Much less forgive! The things she did were hurtful and caused pain. I didn’t even want to mention her name! Years later, I felt the lord tugging at my heart! God wanted a healing… And a fresh start I wanted an apology… It never took place. I felt the Lord asking me for more of his grace. You see, after all these years, with no words spoken. I heard of some news, and my heart was broken. I found out this person was soon at death’s door. When I found out… I fell to the floor! I cried “Father in heaven will you please forgive me? I didn’t love her, in spite of how she would treat me!” The opportunity I had was a chance for forgiving. Now she hasn’t much longer that she’ll be living! May this be a warning and a “wake up” reminder! To those who wronged us, we need to be kinder! Christ’ love needs to break the “barriers” down. So forgiveness in our lives will certainly be found! By Jim Pemberton

Severed Family Ties

In this game of who gets who worst.
Its about getting even , regardless of if feelings get hurt.
So what if this has escalated , you've wronged me,
since that moment I had placed you in a hurst.

Ironic is that you were the brother who taught me the meaning of family.
Now you are the one whose existence is a bother.

More push than shoves , more disdain than love.
My personality determed by " I " but the attitude by all of the above.

Those qualities of yours that ensure that we will quarell.
Those lies that enticed my pride to be swallowed.
No longer will I take the blame for you.

My older brother. My older brother , both father and brother.

What a short distance you've fallen from the tree , hurting all those around you , your siblings and even our dear mother, just like the one who betrayed you , our dear father.

For the lust of materialistic dreams that you seeked youve trampled upon the ones who didnt even understand the concept of envy.

First you lie about your family name.
Then you gamble with our savings.
Then steal from me , was I not part of your family?

Humiliate your siblings infront of your friends for laughs.
Calling us the bastards that God should've never had.
Thank God our mother can't see what has become of you and I.
You almost murdered me because I wouldn't lend you anymore money.

Thank God our mother can't see what has become of you and I.
For you succesfully murdered her spirits too.

You only came to the funeral to lay claim to your part of the money.

Tomorrow our family ties will be physically severed.
But mother taught us all shall pass.

When tomorrow comes I hope this is true.
So in high spirits I know this is something else that shall pass,
 something I must go through.

For with the last heirloom you did not take.... ,
our grandfather’s knife...

Your life I shall take from you.

" The Life Of Me " page 2 of 2

So in 83 i met a girl, Nicola's her name, my heart was a whirl
We courted and married, in the space of 3 years
It changed my life, disquelled previous tears
Over the years, we are blessed with 4 kids
Nightmares of the past, are now well rid

It's now 2008 and i'm feeling so low, just as lonely as i was before
There's various reasons for this lines to be said, as i stare at our house front door.
Dare i go through, but do i dare
James, it's not just about you - but your childrens welfare

What will i find inside or out, if someone can help me, please give me a shout
Will i ever find, what i'm looking for - in this world or the next
It will be through my last door

" Well i have found what i am looking for, it's being read on this wonderful site - my
poetry. But the bigger plus is the people who are reading it, Poetry Soup Family "
                                                       ( Bless you all )

Letter To The Worls

Dear John,

This is my letter to the world that never wrote to me

What I'm telling you now is the truth

Not no lies

You can see it in my eyes.....

I am, I am

The darker brother from your mother

The darker brother from your mother that is telling you the story of Dr. Martin Luther KIng when he had a dream

I am the darker brother from your mother that is telling you the story of Barack Obama becoming the black dream

I am the darker brother from your mother that is telling you the history of the black people

I am the darker brother from your mother

The Cultivated Mind (Home Grown)

Father and Mother
With golden determination
Focused to open my thoughts
in several ways of revelation --
My manner is... Homegrown
The once green mind still looks back;
at all that has been revealed to its now browned shell…
and with that same determination of gold
I pass down the revelations of old
to my children, as I have been told
The mind should always be
Cultivated to the best of ones abilities....
Its focus should start within the home
That is why I feel blessed
When I tell you my children
Most assuredly -- I am Home Grown.

Author’s Comments:
As a farmer tills the earth and toils to harvest that which he has sown and the wife
prepares the table before him, produced from within the bounty reaped thereof...
Thus, we should take the time to cultivate the minds of our children, to also
acknowledge their surroundings and the people there in.
To stay focused on the blessings at hand, that they not live stagnant lives but to be
productively responsible for the gifts which they each so uniquely possess.
The mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Easter Flowers

I:
Sitting carefully on the
tiny wooden Church chairs
each of you appear to be
a pale and delicate blossom.
Or a stiff and straight stem.

II:
Eggs in bright colors
nestle in the new green leaves.
Neon pink and lemon yellow blooms
their hiding places beneath the trees.
One Lavender with lime dots.

III:
Pony tails tied with colorful ribbons
Ball caps Bouncing as you run from place to place.
So excited as you spot one egg.
Never seeing the three resting on the watering can.
Old sand buckets find a new use today.

IV:
The tousled heads rest
atop snowy pillows.
Sunday school frills hung away.
Bright Eggs hidden and found.
Ball caps hung; Pony tails down.

V:
The Flowers of my Easter
Lay sleeping; peaceful and free
with the smears of egg yolk
and chocolate bunnies
across their rosy cherub cheeks.

Jordon

Send me an Angel for me to hold,
One with wings and a halo of gold.

Send me that precious gift I long for,
A smile so sweet and eyes to adore.

Send him here for me to cherish,
Make him kind, loyal and garish.

Send him here with love and grace,
A child whose unique style I'll embrace.

Send me the patience to be a mother,
Hoping he'll love us and his brother.

Not a typical family is what we are,
But we could be much worse by far.

Jordon is the answer to my prayers,
A big brother, for Chris, who truly cares.

Love is what we have to give,
Without my son I could not live.

Thank you God, you've done what I asked.
As a good mother, please tell me did I pass?

I Hope You'll Remember Me

To those who do not know me

I'm a husband, father, brother and son.

I accepted the call of my country

Now my race is run.

I died an angry death

Lying on foreign soil.

For my family and my country

In hope a terrorist, I might foil.

To the mother of my children

I hope you'll remember me.

As a good and loving husband

Just as I tried to be.

To my children Karen and Jacob

I hope you'll remember me.

As the dad you could always turn to.

I loved my family.

To my brother and my sister

I hope you'll remember me.

As a good and decent man

The way a brother should be.

To my mother and my father

I hope you'll remember me

As a loving, trusting son

Proud of me, I hope you'll always be.

To the Country that I served

I hope you'll remember me.

As a soldier, as an American

Who died for liberty.

Fear not your loss

For this I guarantee

I'll see you all in heaven

and I hope you'll remember me.

Accepting our loss

Such pleasure you gave
in the short time we had,
but you were chosen
and though we are sad;
you're away from the dangers
your earthly life had,
away from things ugly
those awful things, bad... .
You brought us peace,
we can't be mad;
for your crossing over -
means an angel they add.
So proud of you,
so very glad;
from loving friends, family;
Mum and Dad

Blood on Emeralds

The blood of Emeralds
In Northern Ireland's streets
Where sides detest
Victims they seek

Religious divide
Neighbours slain
For the life of me
What to gain

These troubled times
Historic sores
Deep rooted pasts
Now to the fore

IRA
UDA
Many guns came out to play
Both sides fell, as they murderously slay
During the week, even Sundays

The Belfast agreement of 1998
This Land of Emeralds, in peaceful state
Neighbours safe to talk again
Never allow the blood, on the Emeralds stain

" Dedicated to all Ireland - The Emerald Isle "

Parents

Guardians or Demons
Loved or Hated
Us mums and dads
And how were rated.

Too strict, too soft
Do we win either way
Don't come home late
Can i go out to play?

The answers we give
And the replies we get
Either makes us smile
Or very upset.

Family discussion, Parental Chat
Don't do this, don't do that
This Parental task, us parents take on
Helps us make our families strong.

You always treat my brother better

(This fictional poem is written from a child's point of view.)

You just bought a bicycle for my brother and nothing for me.
I'm so upset that I'm about to lose bladder control and pee.
I just peed all over myself, I hope that you're happy.
You make my brother feel great and you make me feel crappy.

You always treat my brother better and you feel no remorse.
When I show Daddy this video tape of you and the mail man, you'll get a divorce.
You're asking what it will take to make me give this video tape to you.
You'll have to start shelling out cash to buy nice things for me too.

the search goes on

this is about not a girl
but a woman
a mother
a mother with an addiction
an addiction that took her away
with her gone the system came in and left
but left with my siblings
who's to blame
is it!
a negligent brother with harbored feelings toward his mother for abandonment
for loving a drug more than her child
is it!
an addicted mother with only the pursuit to get that next fix
i feel that both had apart
the brother for not trying harder to conclude& resolve the situation
the mother for making the situation
and the consequence
is today
3 years 9 months 18 days
since i last seen Tamara who was growing & learning so fast
she was 3 last i saw
Tyron so small so innocent it was if i looked at my baby picture when i looked at
him
when i saw him he was 3 months last i saw him
yet the search goes on
for the reuniting of my family
for the restoration of the relationship between a brother and his younger siblings
between a mother and the rehabilitation of her purity, sanity, and salvation
the this search ends is the day of my great throne judgment
until then

That Special Day

As I dress my self for the special day.
I whisper a prayer to help me along the way.

Looking in the mirror at my mothers beautiful dress.
She lovingly sewed together, so I could look my best.

My beloved is a mystery just for that special hour.
I smile to myself as I gather my bouquet of flowers.

The music plays, as I walk down the aisle with my father.
He winks at me, after giving me away to another.

Family gathers tissues and a hush covers the place.
As we exchange vows, he gathers me up into a loving embrace.

I barely heard the words "you may kiss your bride".
My husband raised my veil, kissed me tenderly as I cried.

We are now as one, united in holy matrimony, thus begins our path.
Together we will take on each day, enjoying each other as if was our last.

You cheated on my brother

(This is a fictional poem)

He should've listened to our mother.
She said you'd cheat on my brother.
You slept with another man just two weeks after you walked down the aisle.
My brother deserves better than you because you're a witch and you're vile.

Call Him Uncle

MOMMA SAID THAT I SHOULD CALL YOU UNCLE FOR YOU WERE HER NEW
BOYFRIEND
DID SHE ALSO KNOW THAT YOU WERE ABOUT TO COMMENT A NASTY SIN
NOT TO HER BUT US HER CHILDREN IN THE MIST OF THE NIGHT
COMING INTO OUR ROOM FORCING YOURSELF ON US WITH ALL YOUR
MIGHT
I WAS JUST A LITTLE GIRL AND MY BROTHER WAS YOUNGER THEN ME
I DID NOT CRY FOR ME I JUST WANTED YOU TO LET HIM BE
TO JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE BECAUSE HE HAD BECOME SO UNHAPPY AND
CONFUSED
MOMMA WAS SO IN LOVE SHE DID NOT KNOW SHE WAS BEING USED
SHE ALLOWED YOU TO TELL HER WE WERE BAD AND OUT TO DO YOU IN
SHE DID NOT BELIEVE US AND GAVE INTO YOUR WICKED GRIN
NOW IT IS TOO LATE. FOR THINGS HAVE GOTTEN SO FAR OUT OF HAND
SO, I PULLED THE TRIGGER AND TOOK AWAY MY MOMMA’S NEW MAN
YET I SAVED MY BROTHER AND I DON’T CARE WHO DOESN’T UNDERSTAND
HE DID WHAT WE SAID AND THERE WAS NO REASON FOR US TO LIE
I WAS THE ONE THERE EACH NIGHT WATCHING MY LITTLE BROTHER CRY
SO MY LITTLE BROTHER I LOVE YOU, BUT I LEFT A NOTE
TAKING BLAME FOR WHAT I HAVE DONE
YOU ARE FREE TO SLEEP PEACEFULLY FOR WE HAVE FINALLY WON
SO DO NOT CRY MY LITTLE BROTHER AS THEY LOWER ME IN THE GROUND
I HAVE HEARD YOUR UNANSWERED CRIES SO DON’T MAKE THAT SOUND
HOLD ON TO THE FACT THAT I LOVE AS THE EARTH OPENS IT DOOR
I DID AS I HAD TO SO YOU WOULDN’T HAVE TO CRY ANYMORE
SHE SAID TO CALL HIM UNCLE…

How Do They Sleep

Not a day goes by , my thoughts are not with you,
thinking maybe, someone will have the guts, and
courage to say, "OK, I was wrong."
Daily our troops are killed, and wounded so bad,
trying to start their life over, but it will never be what they had.
Is this a war for peace, or a war for oil, all I know for sure,
our tempers are ready to boil.
Our leaders are backing up, when it comes to our troops,
but they don't have a problem sleeping, for what they do.
How many now have been killed in this war,
How many now will never walk,
How many now can't see their children,
How many now have been abandoned,
How many now have been burned,
How many now can't hold their wife,
How many now can't get help,
I think our country has done enough,
If they can't handle their problem,
well that's just tough.
Our troops, our money, our sacrifice,
something here is not right.
Their land, their oil, and they keep it all.
Somebody better open their eyes, and
then maybe explain to a mother, why her child had to die.

The Family Gathering

Three sisters, one brother, and our dear parents too,
Not counting our children, which numbered quite a few.
Prepared the family gathering, our laughter to live on,
All seeming happy and anything but blue.
With tables set for sharing the food of joy and cheer,
Thanks were given to our Lord
For the passing year.
With dinner feast over and another year to soon disappear,
We look around to find we're still together,
As so are very few.
All the family members have just put their hunger to rest,
And with God's blessings, we still have our family nest.
With younger days and years left far, far behind,
We reach for our memories to share,
One more time.
The laughter was heavy and spirits feeling free,
One more gathering, for our family tree.
Our school-day dances, we tried to do,
Listening to old records of,
God knows who.
With our childhood vanished, and many years gone by,
Least we forget the family gatherings,
 We've shared during our lives.

Little Girl

2 years of love
1 and a half years of hidden pain
a closed mouth doesn't get fed
and diffently doesn't have much to gain
he killed that beautiful little girl
mom stayed with the brother
after all he wasn't the murderer
she was 4 months pregnant
and deeply and madly in love
who was to blame
but the one whom committed that tragic act
you cant blame the brother
I constantly tried to force my self to beleive that
she was only five years old
and still had a whole life ahead of her
as her mother wanted her to leave this earth because of natural causes
not becasue of murder
to lose a child is the worst feeling
a mother can feel
it's like a long and deep cut that will never heal.

Goodbye

I’m so sorry that I had to leave you there,
With those who obviously don’t care,
Sorry for letting you down,
And yet again losing my crown,

I’m sorry for what she will do,
And for what she’s done,
I’m already free but I have to let you be,
She is the puppeteer and you are the puppet,
The strings will one day be broken,
Let’s just hope that its sooner for you,

I’m sorry that I had to let you go,
But its for the best, one day you’ll know,
If I had stayed what more could I have done,
I just can’t stop the evil one,
I hate myself for leaving you to cope,
All by yourself with not a soul,
My insides ache, and my head cries,
I miss you so much,
But can’t see you cry,

I think about you every day,
And still hope and pray,
That you will one day be okay.

I am Poem

I am a slave child.

I hear my mother sobbing loudly.

I see my friends and their families kicking and screaming as they are being hit over and
over again.

I feel terror for myself and my mother.

I send that my brother is already dead.

I touch my mother's arm, shaking her, trying to wake her up.

I see blood running out beneath her, she had been shot.

I taste the dirt and the blood as i am thrown onto the ground and beaten.

I come angry, rise up, and try to grab his gun, I scream "you killed my mother, you killed
my brother, you killed everyone!" But I am struck down,

I hear a gun cock close to my body.

I feel myself fading away as I see the blood flowing out, my blood.

I am a slave child, and I can now join my mother and brother in heaven.
