Kaleidoscope Dreams

Green…you always reflected in my peripheral
And kept watch as I tried to color my world
But there I lay in my blacks and my blues,
lifeless and faltering In monotone hues.

Through kaleidoscope eyes, I envisioned my skies
But the pot at the rainbow was storybook lies
so with nothing to gain and nothing to lose,
I just shuffled around In my blacks and my blues.

Never did I imagine you!, Green… to be my savior
But there you arose, out of my dark abyss
With your bottle green dress and scarlet kiss
Your emerald green eyes and unbridled bliss.

Now my kaleidoscope dreams have all been unfurled
Since you Green, have colored my world
You rescued my heart, Green
You rescued my heart.

Oh sweet rose

Beautiful rose
covered in
your petal finery
sweet silken
satin soft feelings
singing in praise
touching deeply inside

Gentle heart
of sweetness
tenderness flows
from your sweet
scenting aroma
floats inside
the scent

Heavenly emotions
enchanting beauty
looking amazing
red in passion
hot soft whispering
pink blushing
orange warm
as the sun beams glow

Dressed in white
you crown angels
petals softly
Whispers flow
on scented air
words inside
I love you

Kissing and hugging
my love deeply darling
surrendering to you
without doubt
purest rose

I trust
from the petals
into my heart
a crowning jewel
you are queen
amongst flowers
amazingly baby

Star Gazer

When she smiled at him ----

   the world could wait,

   with its myriad of contradictions

   and infinite postures to feigned joy;

there could be no deceit in her light....

That gorgeous assurance that he was as alive

   as the vast heartbeat of the cosmos;

what a whetted pulse to quicken and burst

   upon the shoulders of stars,

   and saddle comets to flame....

ride the rays of the sun....

As a child again under the spell of ice cream,

   shiny-toy and heroic dream;

   the world could wait,

   (when she smiled at him)

A poem for YOU

In this world of Uncertainties I’m the man that you can trust And in my words of sincerity That my love would never last. And if you could only feel, what i feel for you You can ask me “why?” so you can see the truth Like our love that tightens the rope, Like a light that would give us hope. As you watch the dark skies Let me grab the moon for you, And as I catch the bright stars That’s the way you can see me through As this planet turns as it always will And things go wrong and you don’t know what to feel Hold my hand for it will make us strong Like a wind, we will carry on The wind blow that sings a hymn for you For they know what does love means for the two Love is blind, and not deaf So how’s success if you’re not ready to bet? In this poem with full of rhymes, A full of love, Babe can you be mine? I don’t expect too much from you Why should I? If you complete my whole. “Till death do us part” that’s what they have said But why do struggles crash them ahead? Don’t ask me when my love will last, To count all of our quarrels, is that a must? Now and Forever is all that I promise No day dreaming and without reminiscence As the matter of time, as the time passes by Together we stand, together you and I
A poem for my Girlfriend for our anniversary :) pls comment and rate... you are free to judge and criticize my work :) God Bless

Deep Low Math

Deep Low Math

Divide the 1st number by nothing, Undefined,
That’s the meaning of TRUE LOVE,
Even the highest integer in a form of positive,
Cannot explain why this thing is greater than any negative

When you expand this formula of “X”, and why?
Why this “X” is = to 1 + 1 is = to us?
What is our common factor? Let me tell you in a simplest form,
Our destiny is collinear and coplanar
Parallel wherever we are

In the start, connection is at the end of Hypotenuse,
Problems make us become variables,
Inequalities make us strong,
But I found out that ½ of my heart fits yours, I chose,

Our life is an equation, we connect like a proportion
Whether our time acts like an acute,
100 % I will give it all just for you,

Our hands intersect with each other
Its so perpendicular as our eyes knew it better
And as I push the number 8 into the ground
It became infinity the sign of my heart

76 + 67 is in commutative Property
Where N is = to 143
These are words that I just want to say,
Let us make a perfect love story using the square root
Of the prime tree, as I say,
Please let me stay with you, Forever and ever, EVERYDAY

How I Met Your Mother

Kids,
I once vacationed in the company of silence,
It was an unconscious scene bestowed upon
me;
Although I had a calling that answered my
purpose,
A myth of joy existed outside this career,
I was left drowning in limbo, without an
excuse;
But there was a witness, who studied my trail
without cause,
And without apprehension, she helped to resurrect the
the location of destiny;
Allow me to reminisce on such.

For it was in a previous portrait, that I encountered
a dozen roses;
Of these that I held, there were none that exceeded
a brief touch,
A momentary scent that never returns;
Now understand with this expression, it is not a
boast I intend to create,
For I was seeking that gentle grip, in hopes of it never
departing;
I continued a cold failure, never realizing the warmth of
victory that smiled ahead.

I settled on the peak of solitude, as my faith passed
away in obscurity,
And yet, beyond these frozen eyes, there existed a
narration of fate, waiting for my company;
For you see kids, I’ve walked past the casual frame
of your mother,
And misplaced my sight, I’ve missed her spirit by
petty inches,
And when there was a vision of opportunity, my space
was occupied with trivial games.

Then one day, I discovered a possession that linked
heaven and earth forever,
An umbrella your mother left abandoned;
And yet, it was through her innocent misfortune,
That I discovered her abstract songs, played upon
by the perfect key,
Her heart that sits in prosperity, from the charity of
deeds,
A collection of beauty, your mother gracefully
owns;
By the time we crossed into cupid’s lair, I knew
already, the verses of duality were written true,
And with that, the perfect stranger discarded her
title,
Leading Renee into popularity;
Hello became the endless quote, we spoiled into
memory.

As the task of life left this page briefly open,
I responded with a mutual exit, confirming these
lips of joy,
And with revelations of challenge forever slayed,
I peacefully fell, forever breathless.

Smoke Signals

If words could envelop fire,

I’d whisper softly into a quiet

note and let the pyre in my

lonely coffer spill out it’s smokey dispatch.

Letting pathos glow inside carrion’s beat,

I would endeavor this note reach a messenger

with quick feet, so that you would read it before

I became nothing more than a ruin,

damned by it’s own occasion.

I would speak with a gentle urgency,

through teeth like embers of brimstone.

" Let not your tender humor steer you

in a direction that would wilt us both.

Fan the flames that have consumed me,

It’s a burn that fuels our passion

I love you and the pain that you bring,

you are the brightness in the sky,

and the darkness of night.

You are the sting of broken flesh,

and the sweet release of blood that flows.

You are the healing of my blackened benevolence,

and the anger in my wisdom.

You are my second eye,

and my heaviest anchor.

You are the spark,

and the kindle.

You are my Queen.”

Wrestling Verses

Wrestling Verses

Spilling ink onto paper,
reading tea-leaves,

fragments of mirth,
shards of anguish,

remain,
trapped in rolled-up sleeves.

Turning up my collar,
as blue as these days that slip by,

scattered verses plunge into,
the fathoms of unknown waters.

My ink runs, slips, treading lightly,
penning odes to love on bare skin,

your skin,
your bare back my canvas,

my fingers tracing, caressing, scribbling,
homages to our laughter, our tears.

Wrestling verses,

lie spent, exhausted,
famished and parched from saying too much,

still,

my fingers tickle your soft skin,

my ink would run dry,

were it not for your gentle touch

Groundswell Girl - Named by JB

Enter a storybook tale
Where I can be
The heroine you hail
Lucid dreams of soft reflection
A touch heated with lust and desired protection
A breathe a gasp as we succeed
Join the fairytale with me
Valiant night within dark eyes
the right movement and I make them shine
like moonlight on the steamy hot spring
care to follow for a little dip with me
Trailing like the water at my fingertips
Grasp me around my hips
As close as the breeze on my skin
Whisper lies as I let you in
Lips mumbling up my thighs
bare heart exposed to the sky
fire burning in my veins
Am I a mistress of this lust or simply a slave
Trembling with desire
Take me till we've lost count of the hours
enter this storybook tale
Where I can be the heroine you hail

Ember

Thy scarlet rise, thy wistful blur

I delve, into thine purest passion

and taste the ember

of our crazed pollution.

Thy lash, thy whipping break

I, hither under thine blooming scuffle

soothe the yoke of this moment

with the edge of epiphany's

final gasp.

Sink thine breath into mine marrow,

and live within me,

within this embrace.

The Beach of Promises

The Beach of Promises

1.

Fingers entwined, barely touching,
turquoise waters teasing your dancing toes,

strolling along that serene deserted beach,
our promised dreams within aching reach.

2.

Hands clasped, holding on,
sea-breezes tickling the nape of your neck,

walking together, alone, vowing to never breach,
the dreams dreamed on that faraway velvet beach.

3.

Hands in my pockets, alone,
traces of you linger, teasing,

lost in my scribbles, your memory fading out of reach,

my thoughts ablaze, now and then,
catching a whiff of your fragrance,

wafting through alleyways of nostalgia,
your hand in mine on our pristine beach.

PLAY-BOY 1

You know why I run game? It's 'cause I'm a player
I'm the night in shining armor, she's a dragon, I'm gon' slay her
That means when I beat it up, I'm gonna kill it
Tell her keep our business to herself, don't spill it
Can't follow directions, then it's on to the next
Hope you get the message, not talking 'bout a text

I sleep with more chicks than a night-gown

Without 'em I'm like a sentence with no noun

For those who don't know that means incomplete

It's a race to get 'em first, I gotta' compete

They wanna be on the team, tryin' to make the cut

True player, show no feelings, keep 'em in a shell, walnut

Females fill my atmosphere, they mean the world to me

I got damsels galore, it's always plural with me

Got gangs of chicks, which one should I bang

They're steady in my face, sort of like some bangs

Hate when they try to lock me down, I'm not in jail

She starts talking 'bout marriage, then I'm gonna bail

Sometimes I need my space, like a vacant lot

I hate being congested, like a nose filled with snot

Hey, stop bugging me, you startin' to act like a knat

Before you go, give me head, I need it like a hat

Wildflowers

Standing out in a field alone, a little white flower named Daisy longed for someone to share her world.
One day a blue flower named Bachelor Button entered her world they became friends.
She knew by his name that he was not the propagating kind, but that didn’t stop their relationship she called him BB short for best bud.
The seasons of Spring & Summer they enjoyed the sun, laughed in the rain and held on fast in the Fall.
Winter came it was long and hard they were both covered in a blanket of snow, not knowing whether they would ever see each other again or even survive .The snow fell then came the ice, this went on for months.

The Sun shone brightly the first day of spring. A few days later warmth of the sun melted the snow, Daisy popped up .
I’ve been waiting days for you to come out, said BB, they both chanted hooray!
The snow was completely gone in a few days, the birds started building their nests , bugs were crawling around ,butterflies began to visit the two flowers. I wish there were more of us Daisy said, to BB.

They laughed as the sun and wind blew through their leaves. Then it started the sun and rain took turns until one morning the air & field was filled with the smell of flowers.

Daisy and BB looked at each other and asked what kind of flowers are these ? they’re not white like daisies they’re not blue like bachelor buttons. They did not know the birds and bugs carried the seeds from the two of them and the caterpillars buried them under the soil.
The seeds from the new flowers were then carried by the winds many miles away, they landed in fertilized gardens and flourished, although they faced danger everyday.
as they were called WEEDS ..
The Gardener pulls weeds out of the garden so they don’t choke the flowers, which cost a lot of money and require lots of maintenance.

However there was a Gardener who saw her friends spending hours weeding their garden , that they didn’t have enough time to admire and enjoy the labors of their love
So she set out to give a home to all the weeds ,she provided a place where they could fit in and multiply, they required no maintenance, rain provides their water .

The best part of all is their beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Ask my granddaughter-- What are those flowers in the garden ?
She will answer "WILDFLOWERS " their parents were Daisy and BB

Treasure of My Heart

Yamaha impressed me the first time I laid eyes on her glistening blond maple wood, her stylish body details, her long fretted mother-of-pearl inlay; lobed with golden keys. Her voice called to me the first time I held her in my arms. I strummed her six strings slowly in the key of G, then moved softly to D and C. All the while, I searched earnestly for her purity in sound quality and style. She was not the most beautiful in the showroom. But oh yes! She did flatter me with her musical presence. She was beautiful to me! I knew from that moment on she would be mine for eternity.

Within the hour, I took her home to meet the family. She was shy on the journey, not making a sound; perhaps due to this being her first automobile ride or simply wanting to see a world she was now a part of. Yamaha was cased in alligator leather, a brown dressing which was stylish for the day. We were both nervous as we arrived and got out of the car. My strong caressing grip on her handle assured her she wouldn’t fall and it would be alright. She knew it would be alright as I smiled at her.

I opened the door, allowing her to enter first. When in the living room, I called to everyone to come meet the newest member of the family. Dad was taken by her simple yet elegant beauty and style. Mom touched her first and she was most pleased. At that moment I realized the importance of first impressions as Mom marveled at how pretty she was. I sat down in the best chair in the living room while Mom listed to Yamaha talk and I sang a popular country love song. I was pleased with the family acquaintance to Yamaha. It was evident she had become a part of the family.

The first few weeks, I couldn’t keep Yamaha out of my arms. I longed to be with her every minute of the day. In my eye, she made me smile by just gazing upon her. I fumbled with her in those beginning days. She ignored my elementary attempts at refinery and permitted me the time to catch up to her mastery rather than bow down to my level. Like any two lovers, both must reach to the need of the other. Only then is love truly in harmony.

Today, Yamaha is not the young glistening blond I held in my arms some thirty years removed. Her wood has been scared by my love to play her. She has received countless face lifts which cover her tainted mother-of-pearl. Her brown leather case dress stands in need of a seamstress care. But as with all things having been learned through love, we now make beautiful music together. She is my treasure, a light into my soul's well. She amplifies my inner being. As I perform, she is glorified. We have grown old together, and gotten better in time. I still hold her in my arms day by day as this lover has risen to her grace and expectations. She is my treasure for a life time.

Trilogy

She splendid came before the light of dawn,
Emerged from Halls of deep memoir's efface;
'Let me express my love in eyes and ways,
before death turns me back to granite stone.'

Embraced were we while the winds raced moaning,
our strings of lives joined outside of mute grief;
there was a hope left when the arcane Nymph
fled East, towards the first light of morning.
..............

Unvirtuous sons of metamorphosis,
vociferous assault - lives to degrade,
with cymbals' wrothly thump, my land invade,
drums' beat enacts my apotheosis.

They cut me thrice and once as I slaughter,
grotesque barbarians, that fight entranced;
I prayed to dawns' refulgent light; enhanced
their monstrous growls fly with a twilit bird.

Accented their trilogy - immoral,
from deep wounds - inferior weep their cries,
euphoric Spring forces them to baptize
in anaphoric flowing red to flora.
..............

She splendid came before the light of dawn,
Emerged from Halls of deep memoir's efface;
'Let me express my love in eyes and ways,
before death turns me back to granite stone.'

STASHING CASH 2

Where I'm from we don't do debts, fronts, or take tabs
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash
Put that money on the head, you don't need a mask
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash
How is a broke fool gon' try and smash
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash

Money on my mind like bread on a sandwich

I run the city, they're the lights, I'm the switch

I stand for what's mine, never see me slip and fall

I'm runnin' the race, you're a baby with a slow crawl

My cash stay on point, like a sharpened pencil

Try 'n' copy my style, you gon' need mo' than a stencil

I don't be's in the trap, buy my workers put-in overtime

Feds can't catch me, never see me committin' crime

That's why from time to time I shoot 'em a raise

And tell 'em to stash cash for those rainy days

If money talk, then there's nothing to say

If B.S walk, none of ya' fools can stay

My money talkin' for me, betta' yet, it's in a conversation

Ya' look like money; make money, nice observation

They say the love of money's the root of all evil

So how much money will it take to really love people

STASHING CASH 1

Where I'm from we don't do debts, fronts, or take tabs
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash
Put that money on the head, you don't need a mask
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash
How is a broke fool gon' try and smash
They don't understand nothing but stashing cash

My Green could fill-up a Bay, need a few Packers

Haters look, fold and crumble like Ritz-crackers

Money comes and goes, but you know mine stays

Like a well-trained dog, sometimes it even lays

Money brings power, respect, gotta' have the jewels

Call me a handy-man, I stay with my tools

I know it sounds messed-up, but it's money-over-everything

My weight's been up, you just started like a flower in spring

My money keeps flippin', like some Burgers on a grill

Money on me heavy, like a work-out, makes me sweat fo'real

Active, got a million hustles, I'm motivated and dedicated

Call me and money happily married, we can't be separated

Not talking movies, but I bet you ain't seen this in a while

My money's long, go 'head, call it the green mile

Long as I'm stashing cash, I'll always come out on top

Like a junkie smokin' dope, me making money won't stop

the love we had seemed so far away

i look to stars and wishes flew through space never to be heard again
fun to friends hearts do meld and break facing until time ends
this loop that plays and beats that syncopate become but a gem
pleasure a chest opened in surprise feeling no need to defend
galaxies away lonely planets please keep me in mind
distance could grow something fond or lost between the lines
gps my love you can see its still where I left it behind
thoughts fade away with life love lives forever in my rhyme

Im sorry, I wanted more, with all this space between
disconnected and I still look to that day
we talked on the phone, our separate homes
the love we had seemed so far away

without air i couldnt breathe squeezed until I'm passing by
no water flow my skin would dry and I return to the sky
sunny days would blacken out, attracting need for desperate lies
to make up for the beauty lost from death slowly closing my eyes
that fire once sparking motion snuffed in huffs slipping away
dwifting I sway shaky grounds where once I sat easily and stay
upon my feet I still float drowning out all thoughts that stray
Tho these ends can come swift its worse to miss and hear you say

Im sorry, I wanted more, with all this space between
disconnected and I still look to that day
we talked on the phone, our separate homes
the love we had seemed so far away

down the road, flying free, I ride the wave and hope for your return
through several seas and cloudy peaks, storms of sand, I will not turn
helpless to fate and future events, nothing prevents something to learn
sights may not sore, nothing much looking more, isn't my concern
I hope the best and happyness is true to bless you, not just in dreams
we can meet when we sleep discussing life while sleeping seems
thanks for trying Im not exactly dying, banes of sentient beings
real enough moving on is rough, i'll love you forever, writting my means

Daybreak

I wake on the sand
Right near the beach
You have yet to awake
Far out of reach
And Daybreak has arrived
A beauty unlike any other
Comparable only to us, girl
And how we love each other

So I gaze up alone
Marveling up at the sky
The warmth of the sun
Drying my eyes
I'm reflecting on us
Oh how each other we trust
I'm just so happy we're together
And I think to myself,
Just as this sun, we'll last forever

Then returning to be with you
I lay again now
Place my hand gently
On your warm tender shoulder
While I think of our lives today, love
And how they'll be when we're older...
I know there'd be no other way
So "I Love You" I make sure I say
To you, each and everyday

Only in You

Through the lonely woods, I may head,

Upon the autumn leaves, I may tread,

At the secluded horizon, I may stare,

And only you, I may see,

In those symphonies of silence,

In those melodies of calmness,

In those euphonies of quietness.

By the silent lake, I may lay,

Till the twilight fades, I may stay,

Then in reclusive silence, I may walk,

And only to you, I may talk,

Through those toungueless emotions,

Through those wordless attachments,

Through those voiceless sentiments.

In the lone meadow, I may wander,

Along the untrodden paths, I may waver,

In companionless seclusion, I may hide,

And only in you, I may find,

The depths of oneness,

The bonds of togetherness,

The cozy feel of coalescence.

In the wilderness of emotions, I may die,

At the merciless daggering, I may sigh,

Through a million wounds, I may bleed,

And only in you, I may seek,

The balm of love,

The warmth of affection,

The heal of inseparability.

Never Enough

I always love more,
and it kills me in the end.
I always give more than I receive
and,
even though I cherish each smile like it alone
was responsible for moving the world,
it was never enough
and I was never enough,
but we both knew the teams weren't quite even
and each was playing by a different set of rules.
So I gave you all I had and
took out a loan to give you more-
leaving my heart hungry so I could make sure
there was always enough to fill yours-
and you gave me what you had
and I cherished each glance like it kept the oceans churning.
I pawned my soul and shed my skin-
leaving my bones cold and aching-
so yours would never feel hollow.
And I gave you everything I had
and loved you with all my strength
until my heart gave out-
and yet I still managed a few more beats
for good measure-
And you gave me what you could but
it wasn't enough
and still I cherished each ounce of your love
like it was the last breath ghosting across my lips
in one final offering to you-
"I love you."

Your Kiss From Heaven

My heart longs to hug
and to snug
In ur warm arms.
Not to be left in darkness.
We used to snog
On the large log,
Feeling ur tenderness
And every sweetness
Of yours lips.
Your swaying hips
Astounded my senses.
There are no pedestals
Reserved in the heavens
For girl wit such outlooks.
You exist in my fantasy
Visiting in my fantasy,
For a gem I have lost.
Heaven's taken my best.
I need no other kiss
But your kiss
From heaven.

A person I've met before

You are a person i've met before.
The man who stands knocking at my door.
I remember you from my dreams,
Your eyes sparkle and your smile gleams.

You held the door open as I ran in for shelter from the cold weather & rain.
You are the man I stood next to in line.
You are the man I passed by
I danced as you sang the songs chorus.
I pushed my way through...
the sea of people and stopped next to you.
Amidst the crowd we stood, searching for a way out
I looked around, I glanced in your direction, I looked past you
I found my way out, I hurried my way through.
I walked away having not met you.

A second glance, I did not take,
unaware that our meeting was fate.

You are a person i've met before,
Sometime ago on a night like tonight,
The air was warm, the stars shining bright
The night that we met,
I danced that night, I danced and danced until the morning light
I sat to lay my feet to rest, you came to me no different from the rest
You asked me for a cigarette.
An open chance to conversate
knowing this interaction would not lead to a date
We shared thoughts and ideas of similar interests.
such as music and poetry, art and astrology.
At the time I thought nothing of it, a casual meeting of the mind.
Little did I know, I would continue to meet you throughout my lifetime.

You are a person i've met before,
I've read your book of poetry at the local book store.
you write of life, love and family.
You are a person i've met before,
I've seen your paintings, they are hard to ignore
You are the artist I dream of meeting
You are a person i've met before.

You are the man in my dreams,
Your eyes sparkle and your smile gleams.
I've met you 100 times before,
You are the man who stands knocking at my door.

Like The Finest Of Wines

You say I'm old enough to know better;
But I am still young enough not to care--
So I'll compose another love letter
To shake up your world, my dear lady-fair.
Your kiss still goes to my head like champagne.
(I should have built a tolerance by now!)
They send me spinning around and again...
I can't get enough of them anyhow.
I may not chase as fast as I used to,
Nor do my passions carry me away,
But my heart's embers still smolder for you-
And they prob'ly will 'til my dying day.
Our love matures like the finest of wine,
Whose bouquet piquant endures for all time.

Heartbreak

He wants to say "I love you,"
But keeps it to "Goodnight."
Because love would mean some falling,

Withstanding Love

Through troubled times of struggle, hearts were muddled, I'd dissemble,
I'd drop your hand, chest buckles, you withstand and reassemble,
you've restored so many times what I've tore down, disassembled...
you understand my loss, first hand, "I love you", your lips trembled.

Though record shows my deeds forgo your love, you're more than gentle,
refused the bounds of apprehension, tension disassembled,
unleashed affection, your devotion, yet emotions tremble,
there's something uncontrolled, it has a hold within, it's mental.

Your intuition, my acts of indecision, temperamental,
propriety, on my behalf, falls way short of monumental.
Your heart permits my love, undeserving, unconditional,
though reservations pull back elation, unpredictable.

I promise you my heart, my spirit, it's unequivocal,
you complete the parts of me I thought were integral.
Burdens, troubles, tension, dissension, all now invisible,
all replaced by exuberance I once thought was mythical.

Trepidation, dread, fixation on perceived forged fictionals,
bring forth false truths expected to be unpredictable.
Look forward, opened heart and eyes, keep close what's fundamental,
I understand your fear, first hand, "I love you", my lips tremble.

He Loved Her

He loved her,
she was blind and loved someone else
who did not love her back.
He truly loved her,
but she held him as just a friend;
nothing more than that unwanted title.
He loved her,
soon he'd relize she wasn't the one
he was truly looking out for,
and she was like a blind fish in a salty sea
looking for the hook to pull her in.
He loved her;
but now there is no more to be shared,
it is sad;
truly it is very, very sad.

He went on to greater and better
and she stayed behind in her cloud of smoke
and liver full with alcohols and lungs filled with cancers;
not to be mean;
but she had lost something good...
She had lost a man who truly loved her.

This is a sad tale of love; not being found in the right or wrong place,
see the romantic side is they will still find love,
Oh yes she will find someone
and he will find someone too;
but they will be two different people
who, by their definition will treat them
not for what they possess in their pockets and driveways,
but what they truly possess in their own hearts.

Love does not have just one definition, but many definitions
that all relate to our own needs in life.
In the end we all find love,
just not with the people we except to love us back.

Kiss kiss Bang

And as I sent my lips back down unto her navel,
I heard the crack.
The brilliant explosion that gave existence
All of its fury. I knew that it was beauty
Like hers that keeps this place spinning
…holding all of this chaos together,
So that moments like this could happen.
So that art could find its way.
So that blood could pulse.
I watched the universe break apart
And come back together slowly,
Pulled in by the gravity of the sparkle
In her eyes.
Her essence bleeds into my world,
Holding my realm together with auburn
Filaments tied to her crown of comfort.
I exist in-between moments of
Spectacular destruction.
Taking in stellar iridescence
With the awe of a child…
Until the glow is too
Much for a mere mortal,
And I succumb to the darkness.
Only to be reborn again.

The Petty Posh-WahZee - Liberation and Ostentation

The Petty Posh-Wahzee - Liberation & Ostentation

The Not-So Distant Past:

The fallen fighters for freedom, are unable to turn in their graves,
their battered, fragmented bones, mixed with a handful of torn rags,
are all that remain, a mute reminder of their selfless valiant sacrifice.

They endured brutal Apartheid harassment, detentions without trial,
torture in the cells, and mental anguish when loved ones disappeared,
they left their homeland, to continue the struggle against racial bigotry,
while countless others fought the scourge of white-minority rule at home.

Nelson Mandela and many, many others, spent their lives imprisoned,
on islands of stone, and on islands of the cruellest torture, yet they stood,
never bowing, never scraping, they stood, firm for ideals for which they were prepared to die,

and many, many comrades did die, at the hands of the callous oppressor,
and many, many comrades perished in distant lands, torn from their homes,
while the struggle continued, for decades, soaked in blood, in tears, in pain.

The Present:

19 years have passed, since freedom was secured at the highest of prices,
delivering unto us, this present, a gift of emancipation from servitude,

a freedom to walk this land, head held high, no longer second-class citizens,
in the land of our ancestors, whose voices we hear and need to heed today.

I do not care much for fashion, Lewis-Fit-On and Sleeves unSt.-Moron,
yet the ostentation that I witness baffles even my unsophisticated palate,

our ancestors' plaintive whispers are being dismissed, left unheeded, as
we browse the aisles for more and more, always for more and yet more.

Asphyxiated by the excess of the Petty Posh-Wahzee, we find ourselves,
perched precariously on the edge, of a dissolution of all that is humane,

babies go hungry, wives are battered, our elders left in hospitals for hours,
I cringe as I scribble these words, perhaps too sanctimonious and preachy,

yet I know, deep in the marrow of my brittle bones, I know, I know, I know,
this tree of freedom planted by the nameless daughters and sons of Africa,

needs to be shielded, nurtured, protected from our very own baser impulses,
so that the precious tree of freedom, may bear the fruit that may feed us all,

for if not, then we are doomed, to tip over, and into the yawning abyss, we shall fall.

Heavenly Nevermore

The sun has learned
to nevermore interfere

with the moon
and its stars

To give it a whole world
because the sun

doesn't need to stand in the way,
when it has free reign
of the entire universe.

The Canvas of Night

The Canvas of Night

Stars like sprinkled sugar,
lay strewn across the canvas of night,

enthralled by the wonder of the cosmos,
my dreams take to the heavens in effervescent flight,

I bathe in the beauty, soaked in sublime delight,
absorbed in moments of bliss, transfixed by the serene sight.

Stars like sprinkled sugar,
lay strewn across the canvas of night,

and my being is infused with feelings of hope,

for even in darkness I find the sprinkled sugar of hope's light.

note: special thanks to one of my heroes, the late Dr. Carl Sagan, for making science accessible to younger me, many, many moons ago.

Where Wild Violets Grow

Scribbling these verses,
caressing your bare back,
simple rhymes,
flowing from my fingertips.

Scribbling verses,
sprinkling odes to fragrant promises,
your smile lightens the burdens,
off my heavy heart.

Scribbling verses,
soaked in countless kisses,
the moonlight waltzing on your skin.

Scribbling verses,
feeling you,
your love never ceases to flow,

through the streams of my mind,
to a place of our own,

My Love

my love...

my love blossoms amidst the thunder

across the oceans and the beyond the seas

my love reaches out and touches

the moments of bliss as the loneliness flees

my love is simple
with profound feelings of yearning desire

my love rages within
the furnace of this aching heart's unquenchable fire

my love basks in the warmth of the knowledge

that in the spring it takes root and it will flower

my love breathes in the light fragrance

of her hair after her warm and delicate shower

my love remembers drowning in her eyes

of those ethereal moments frozen forever more

my love recalls the fleeting ticking of the clock

each minute apart stabbing at my very core

my love she knows I need her so

for she needs me just as much

my love she sprinkles light flourishes of her sensual touch

as my love for her continues to ceaselessly grow

my love reaches down into the crevasses of my of being

my love for her is held onto deep inside

for in the coming of the cold ache of seperation

my love settles between the folds of her heart, for 'tis there that my love for will reside

my love like an eternal dream caresses me in wakefulness and in sleep

and that is the feeling that I shall cherish

a feeling of love that has settled in me

a feeling so pure and a feeling so very deep...

For Bruce Springsteen

for bruce springsteen...

it was a rain-swept monsoon day

way back then, so many moons away

when i felt the music strumming in my veins

setting me free like a runaway horse without any reins

you sang of simple truths,

your verse spoke to people just like me

in my lonely, wasted, and desolately quiet night

as you screamed out tragic human wrongs, and of everyone's plight

'bobby jean' spoke to me

of that girl down the street

glimpses of whom, we as innocents would furtively meet

and 'the river' that flowed through my ever-barren heart

led me down further roads of thunder

when slowly i finally learnt that the hardest part was fighting on

and never to surrender

to the hard-luck dreams that were born to run

while i danced in the dark

with memories vivid and stark

even as i whined like that dog who for forever lost his howling bark

and then a 'human touch' came along

and 'better days' seemed real, not just words in a song

and still you sang and swayed and spoke straight into my unseeing eyes

as gardens of secrets were opened, and as your fist punched the skies

in an anger that i too felt and in whose cauldron i too burned

as we saw murder get incorporated, while on its wobbly axis, our fragile world apathetically turned

and then suddenly i was told that i was all grown up

working on a highway of scattered ideals

and absolving myself by sprinkling some coins in a waiting cup

well, after all these years of walking along so many a thorny road

with an armour of your verse covering me, even as i hear them taunt me and even as they continue to goad

but now i can feel myself fading away, into the bleakness of this coming night

just like the ghost of that old tom joad...

The Garden

The night air is cool and collective,
Running through my hair and face.
Even when I’m with people, I feel alone
In this cold blooded space.

It’s like walking through a garden
Of all your favorite foods,
But none of which can substantiate
For that one so special mood…

That mood,
that beautiful frame of mind.
I only go there with you,
And only you can make it unwind.

I discovered a passion unlike any other
And in my finding I opened a world,
A world I did not know existed.
I’m on cloud nine every time I think of you,
Just the thought of you brings joy to my heart.

This garden holds many beautiful things
Many delightful pleasures,
Many cold nights,
Warm nights,
Difficult frights,
Ecstatic times and unsystematic times!

But they mean nothing to me,
While I’m alone…

Walk with me through this garden.

Oh Walker's Will and Lander's Way

Oh walker’s will and lander’s way…
Did not we grow in love’s dismay?
while wandering by the garden path
that led us to “the grapes of Wrath”
but also by the Lake of Tow ....and woe
still... on we wandered … did farther go
to where the wake of Willing’s way
slammed us like the tides…to our final days
against the side of Trivial’s Pass
no easy going, unto the last

So Now! Away my love!... turn now away!
The sky is dark... tis end of day

no more to walk hand and hand
no circle to be broken
no promise in sands
of time...ticking time ...that has now stopped
the boom has struck... love's hammer dropped

Let us land …in this peaceful place
in this subjective joy… in an objective space

we journeyed long unto the bend
of bow and break...relent and lend
but even we must greet our circle's end

Love Endures

Love floats by,

reaching,
tantalising,
meandering,

tip-toeing past pain,

leaping through walls,
weakening the barricades,

of the most private heart.

Love settles in,

trusting,
searching,
dissolving,

quietly beyond anguish,

erasing the desolation,
soothing a battered spirit,
enveloping the shivering soul.

Love stays, it is true,

love endures, as do you

His Ass A Tale

His ass; a tale each women said.
Of one held high - he rendered it.
Like men of past to honour it.
A rogue like him - a dawn of wit.

They followed him a stern dead hem.
Each judged him; sire'd for him.
To each love they were fair and grim.
And some would say they're all a whim.

Some do bawk and claim him nay.
Most keep circles; waits and times.
Elite approach to spread their chimes.
While late provoke him for his crimes.

One man's wake that goes oblivious.
Her clueless cause for dancing.
Love together comes 'a prancing.
THE END; his soul will wait for lancing.

You and I

You and I.

You.

Your heart blazed,
with a warmth of spirit,

soothing,

alluring,

soaked in truth.

Your smile burned,
branding me permanently,

gentle,

tender,

enveloping my being.

Your love was complete,
from the depths of your soul,

unsaid,

yet fierce,

bathed in silent knowing.

Your dreams were poetic,
fluttering in the afternoon breeze,
infused with the distilled essence of rhyme.

I.

I squandered your generosity of spirit.

I vainly discarded your priceless poems.

Now I stand,

alone,

empty,

desolate,

wasting away,

rotting inside, day by day.

Flames

The warming flames of a fireplace
Easing away the frost and the cold
The warmth massaging my face
As the sparks crack in the fires mold

The flame stretches one inch too far
Touching lightly the untempered wall
It catches and burns all things inside
Turning the walls as black as the night

A sad desolation, caused by one little spark
Chaos and destruction, by the once warm hearth
Things can change without you knowing why
Something you once loved, bringing tears from your eyes

My Dear Lovely Girl

Oh hold my hand my dear, lovely girl,
hold me tight and never let go,
I shall tell you what you want to hear,
destroy all the demons from your sight,
hold you tight in the midst of the night,
as the monsters and creeps watch you from behind,
I shall tell you not to worry my dear, lovely girl,
for there is nothing to worry about;
for we're together and nothing could tear us apart;
the force of a thousand forces
nor wind, fire, nor ciaos shall tear us apart.
Nor envy, wrath shall take us from one another;
only shall it make us stronger
for my dear, lovely girl
I love you.

Shall Romance come from the heaven's wing?
Delivered by the most beautiful of angels
and holding romance placed upon a silver platter
handed down to us,
as we sit together and kiss the night away,
shall we dance till morning dawn,
when your father looks for us in the meadows
and the townsmen search the church,
and I shall love you here and now,
in your arms,
or in the dirt,
I shall always love you,
for my heart is with you;
my dear, lovely girl.

Moon

Might I ask about what the moon means to you?
It means the world revolves in a transcending path with a satellite.
Why does the moon shine in the midnight sky?
It shines because it is a guide between the world of the dead and the living.

So does the moon fill the air with hope?
The moon itself is hope for people.
Why does the moon pull us in with such soul searching?
It is because we feel that the moon is part of our every day life.

Children who asks these questions; I have strive to tell them some truth,
And for the adults out there I created a little Moon lite poem to sooth.

So the moon is our light in the darkest hour of the night
With romance in the air that is so bright
We all hold hands once in a moonlit walk
And with such passion we would talk
The moon gives us our pull on each others heart
With a dinner that we take part
The ritual of wooing ones heart is a great feeling of love
The moon is always there to shine right above
In time we think we are blinded by the moon
But to tell you the truth it reflects the sun light during midnight noon
It gives out a warmth in the darkness
We probably do not think of it less
Because the moon is our memories of our past
It shows it everyday and night and always last

A Simple Wish

a simple wish...

no fancy words
no more clever rhymes
no more slickly crafted verse

just a simple wish
to cherish the moments
in-between the hue and cry of this life

no more the dull-edged jab
no more the anger and the strife

a simple wish
beyond the wasted hours and the days and the blurry fears

a simple wish
of a simpler life

after all the bitterness of the passing years

and so

to retire from the hustle
to flee from the hollow wasted breaths that have been breathed

to bid the emptiness farewell

while

ushering in the new tomorrow

bathed in the soft glow of hope

and kissing adieu to all the hurt and all the doleful sorrow...

Fire and Merlot

I remember the honeyed words,
and the
               ...anticipation
of the touch that rendered time irrelevant.
I hear laughter in the next room;
astounded at the drunk and the blind.
it’s all so fleeting; we turn to dust in a heartbeat
                                                    ...fading
I speak in logic and move inside of thunder.
as my skin is peeled away,
as shadowed eyes follow me,
and I feel fingers reaching from the grave,
the familiarity of your nails scratching
down my back and ancient melodies we shared
that reflect our persistent missteps;
the ones that buried me alive.

I remember the creaky floors that
carried you to our bed,
The crimson sheets where we danced;
We found harmony in this place
As the world stoked it’s flame around us.

I can still hear the echoes,
Distant and smoldering.

“My love was born in your eyes,
                   Don’t you ever look away.”

Your face hides in the mirror,
Lost inside my own empty stare.

You promised me forever.
But beneath this broken glass,
I can hear it all shatter.

Can you remember how you asked me
if we could turn back time?
The ash that we laid to waste
 between your chains
and my misgivings set ablaze
in our lovemaking
Now time is timeless for you
and I feel you, erotic in your ghosting touches
I still claw to hold on to this life
You're essence caresses and taunts me
your touch is warm, from the other side
 ...of this veil
Our hands release from their dance,
as your dead, coarse skin withers and dries
...no hope for a final embrace

But I can still taste your merlot stained lips;
The way they brushed against mine.
I can still feel your pulse rushing to meet
My own.

Your voice, and it’s promises.

“This world can burn us down,
But our ashes will be spread together.”

I Stand, Alone

I stand, alone.

Scratching for my truths,
peeling away the veneer,

I stand, alone, before this
impregnable cliff so sheer.

Cocooned in my solitary shell,

I stand, alone, a little odd,
and definitely quite queer.

I stand, alone.

nothing beats poetry, sitting underneath a tree
thankin' my family for a strong identity
people watching cause its free, beauty in the scene
has me staring with a cheese, a smile at what i see
possibly a dream, caught up mentally
imagining a few things, with this human being
who has the sweetest energy, soulfood like collard greens
all fools falling means I'm really dumber than I seem
being intelligent isn't just from memory
its handling impermanence light and sensibly
and lady I'm feeling your sultry melodies
we'd be crowded if its three, sit and be my company
must be a chemistry major cause the reactions meant to be
the love we can achieve, is safe from any thieves
hold em from my queen, hearts tucked into my sleeve

Distant African Nights

Those Distant African Nights...

1.

The shadows swayed in your candlelit room,

a cool breeze teasing your bare back,

streaks of lightning forked in the Johannesburg night,

as my hands stroked your hair,

kissing your soft mouth,

holding you,

ever so tight.

2.

You whispered that you loved me,

and I kept silent,

the rain fell,
shadows danced,
thunder rolled,

the breeze teased your naked back,

you whispered that you loved me,
as my lips found yours,

the rain washed over our tender nights,

lightning and candlelight,

etching poems on your burnished skin,

yet,

a fear gnawed at me,

deep within.

3.

We parted ways,
and you could never forgive me, you said,

now, after numberless thunderstorms,

the rain that falls,

echo the countless tears that I have shed.

4.

You are long gone,

far away,

happy, I pray,

yet the memories persist,

those precious moments shall never,
ever,

like the Jo'burg rains,
trickle away,

and I wish you well,
for loving me as you did,

for it was I who was not worthy,

then,

and it is I who is not worthy,

now...

5.

You were always true,

it was I who always,

always,

refused to,

to give myself,

completely to you.

On The Garden Path

" In The Pathway Of Light
I Have Seen
Deluded Dreams
and Mist-Moonbeams
In The Garden,
They Fell At My Feet
Where We,
Had Made Plans To Meet ... "

And I Waited & Waited
For You To Come
I Waited Until
The Morning Sun
And Then I Could
Wait No More ...
For The Rains
Had Started To Pour ...

Alas, My Soul
My Love, My Heart
My Happiness, My Hope
Once Bright
... Now Dark
Drenched & Merged
On That Muddied Path
& In Puddles In The Grass

... there Splashed The Plans
That We Had Made
To Meet-Right There
and Run Away
and Escape
Into The Night
With A Brand New Start
In Sight ...

But Now I Pace
This Path Alone
With Footsteps Faced
Towards The Unknown
But Wait - Tho' Late
& Past The Storm
... I Run Into
Trustworthy Arms ! ...

" In The Pathway Of Light
We Have Seen
Our Starry Dreams
and Mist-Moonbeams
In The Garden,
They Fall At Our Feet
Where We Dance
To Love's Heartbeats "

The Glow of Soft Truths

the glow of soft truths
tucked between the folds of the heart

radiates through the coarse fabric of each fleeting day

transcending the hurdles that litter the way

extinguishing the trepidation and the unfounded fears away

beyond the very now with an eye firmly gazing towards the coming morrow

where genuine peace may be found while dispelling the nasty sting and the solitary sorrow

and when that moment is finally found

when peace and mirth is felt all around

the bliss may seem plentiful, and the being with simple joy may abound

without a word being spoken

without the din, the static of the endless drone

so infused with soothing music, yet hardly making a sound

for the truth of peace that lies in wait

just beyond the corner

is a truth that may never be sought

or bought

for that truth of peace must be ushered inside

until deep in the soul it will then quietly reside...

The Sieve of Time

The Sieve of Time

Cast ashore,
along the banks of time,

whirling through the passing years,
clinging to my futile scribbles set in rhyme,

Cast ashore,
thrust into an unrehearsed pantomime,

clenching slivers of joy as weariness descends,
lulled into a peaceful slumber exhilaratingly sublime.

Cast ashore,
hazily adrift, a dandelion seed on the wings of time,

trapped in the sieve of spiralling memories,
caught between pristine bliss, and reeking slime.

Cast ashore,
flung aside for no discernible crime,

my human heart thuds with elusive hope,
though battered, bruised, and covered in grime,

I stagger ashore,

alone,

embracing each moment of detached, oblivious time.

Your Whisper

You whispered in my ear,
a breathy secret, hushed.

“I love you”, you murmured.

I said nothing,
lost, in your arms,
I found a home. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
I said nothing,
lost in my thoughts,
I found peace. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
words failed me then.

They still do.

For Him

When in April 2013
Her soul fled... ignited
Like a car engine...
Still, he steered hard on her timid face

Oh passion mixed with tension
Even at a Praying Ground?
On her, he kissed with words
Making her dance and say 'cheese'

Into her soul like showers of waters
Penetrating her resilient heart
With words, rhymes and signs
As such..she scattered her Brazilian hair

At every little chance,
she, of his name, chant
Even in the belly of struggle
she lept in bubbles with jumping smiles

Wow! the - vocally endowed!
Little wonder,that feeling of 'Somehow'
Caress the walls of her pointed nipples
As she murmurs ...With a loud silence.

Painstakingly combing a breath of fresh air
In and out of her very unique nostrils
Like a helpless lamb in the altar
..Curling the angered joy of distance.

Words, rhymes, massaging rhythms
To the veins in her flowing blood
Back, front, left and right
Signalling at her swelling "Kinni"

"I will never let you go..."
The song she sang with a resounding bang
Ko-La 'wole' come in to stay, stalk me today
Into the bottomless deep of my sweating "Kinni"

Cos from 'Maba, she, in irony surrender,'
Her head, her shoulders, her feelings, her soul
Like they've long belong
To Bankole Kolawole, her funky, naughty Lover.

(NB: Maba is a place along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Nigeria)
"Kinni" literally means "something".

MISTAKEN

Love, do i ever know you?
have we ever met?
When can i take a hold the real you?
Am i too ugly or too faceless?
Am i too bad or too unworthy?
I have loved before....
Why didn't i learn?
why didn't i change?
Why i had given so much?
And now that you have left...
Hurt; pain and tears all i have...
Love, you are so attractive...
I soak into your temptation and lures...
I set my feet without halt...
Love, i'm so brave take the risk...
Don't you know, i haven't been long sick?
Why you ever landed?
why did i ignore all signs and symptoms?
When you plan to leave in the end?
You had me fooled and blinded..
But was it you love?
L-O-V-E?
Is it really you, love?
Or am i mistaken?
It is rejection...
It is losing someone..
it is loneliness..
it is showing love less..
it is wrong reciprocity..
Correct me love please..
Lift me up from this awful damnation..
Take me out from this tangled jeopardy..
I don't want stay in this..
Love, help me please?
Channel me to what and where you really are....

The Unusual Fragrance

The unusual fragrance looms above my room,
Its owner not yet known,
Its purpose still a mystery I assume
Sweeter than any other fragrance I ever own,

Its mood is ataraxia,
Cold soothing scent, texture so smooth,
Like dying in a peaceful euthanasia,
I have it trapped in a booth,

Smells like angels on a spring break,
Dancing gloriously in the water fall,
With a rattling feeling like an earth quake,
Its particles bouncing from wall to wall,

Clogged in my mind is a fog of disconcert,
As I battle my feeling to a perfect stranger,
The feeling of unrest causes discomfort,
As the unusual fragrance puts my heart in danger,

A Chipped Heart

A Chipped Heart...

Dreaming, my heart brittle as glass,
my solitary facade a pitiful farce,

shards tearing out of my skin,
seeking release, from cages within,

I am lost, in the dream,
bellowing out a silent scream,

torn from reality, drowning in the now,
yet I refuse,
I refuse to succumb,

I refuse to bow.

My chipped heart, may be wounded,
wreathed in pain,

still,

I believe, love, truth, belonging,

will take my hand,

again...

Souvenir

Every night, we take the moon home.
Split it in half,
and tuck it away beneath our ribs
for safe keeping. I always wince,
because of bruises that never
heal but her smile kills that pain,
and when we get home
we get to dance under the same
light that led us to each other,
fashioning our love to the
ceiling above, so it’s shine
can light the only world that
matters to us anymore.
When we get home,
the rest goes dark,
and Earth’s rotation
adapts, forced to synchronize
with the steps of our feet
across the only real living room.
She says she’ll give it back
when I decide the pain is
no longer worth walks in the
shade of rain.
t e a s
             ing me with
the zap of lightning’s charm.
But you see,
this burdened cage of love’s misery
is a metronome’s swing to the
beat of infinity.
And so I press play on the
heart of this, my favorite song
and once again, hold out my
hand..and wait for her to
take my pain away.

The Footfalls Towards Forever - Part 3 of 3

... For Theirs Was A Loyal Love That Would Nay Suffer Guilt
Nor Wander, Nary Wrangle, Nor Waste, Nor Wrong, Nor Wilt
Whether Slow In Coming, Or of A Moment Passing Swift
Not Even An Enemy’s Blade Plunged In His Side To Its Hilt ! …

could Halt His Soft Footfalls Towards Forever …

Even In Whispered Woe & Weeping That Winds Would Nay Lift
Or Thru A Last Dance, Last Duty, Lost Dreams, Or Long-Ago-Drift
Even In All The Combined Separation Or An All Alone-Shift
Even Thru Gut-Struck-Grief Or The Unknown – Aye, Even If …
Out of Cold Shadows’ Desperation … Over A Highland Crag-Cliff

… slips The Soft Footfalls Towards Forever

Out of Cold Shadows On A Highland Moor
Will You Come Walking To Me As Hard Rains Pour?
Beneath A Tree of Life I Stood and Swore
To Bring You My Body & Every Beauty, It Bore
To Reach You Before Even Death’s Read Banns Door …

and Right Before, Our Soft Footfalls Towards Forever …

… Out of Cold Shadows, On A Highland Moor
Will You Wake For Me, When The Full Moon Soars?
Beneath A Tree of Life, I Stood and I Swore
To Bring You Back, Body ‘N Breath & The Beauty It Bore
Whether To Walk On Water Or Just Footprints On A Shore

in Soft, Footfalls Towards Forever To Explore …

yea, In Soft Footfalls Towards Forever … Still Furthermore …

(Isaiah 50: 4, 5 / Song of Solomon / John 11: 23 – 27 /

Within Me

Within Me

Flowing through the rivulets of my everyday thoughts,
memories of you surface, gasping for air, breathing in,
permeating, absorbed by the pores of my ageing skin.

Famished, greedily gulping mouthfuls of fractured life,
awash in distant yesteryear, when your feathery kisses,
banished the vacuum, dispelling my anguish and strife.

You are eternally carved, and embroidered into my soul,
I wash ashore, smashing against the boulders of the now,
seeking solace, begging for absolution with my empty bowl.

The book of fate is sealed shut, the tea-leaves have been read,
nothing remains within me, the burden of smiling has been shed.

Now I am stranded, between dreams and the empty years ahead,
searching for forgiveness, in the miles I have yet to wearily tread.

She

She

She smiled, gently,
her warmth infusing me,
with a serene stillness of time.

She settled, slowly,
in my waking thoughts,
a soothing balm of simple joy.

She remains, scribbled,
on the walls of my fractured heart,
memories of happiness that once breathed...

Illegitimi non Carborundum

Illegitimi non carborundum ;-)

...Staggering, my vision cloudy,

I fall to the hard ground.

when life’s sharp left-jab leaves my face bloody,

and all that surrounds me, is the desolation of loss I feel all around.

I see myself slipping,

down the abyss to where nothingness exists,

still, I cling on, groping for a foothold,

for my will to stay persists.

I clamber up, I stand my ground, though battered and bruised I may be,

my curtain is not falling yet, I have some fight still left in me.

It is then, in the pit of despair, when all seems bleak and painful and dull,

I summon the strength from deep within,

I rise, slowly, to face the day,

I refuse to sink,

to wallow, to surrender, to throw in the towel,

to drown,

for I am stronger now,

indeed I am, after all the years, and all the battles,

I stand, bruised and bloody,

still,

I stand,

I refuse, to sink, to drown,

for they can try, to punish me some more,

but I shall not allow them to grind me down…

Love Unspoken

Would love not speak if uttered by a frightened tongue?
Would Earth reap the sown tears of beauty undone?
I rise from the ashes of every torn moment,
when God allows me your presence.
But, I fear I am but a shadow of the light
in your eyes.
Seeking refuge from darkened days.
If I should speak of the burning desire
behind my own sight,
should I be cast out in due time?
Or would you steady your hands
with mine?

Passion in D-Major

Passion in D-Major

Feeling, the sensuous brush-
strokes on a canvas,

swirling,

to a symphonic crescendo,

of our shared heartbeats,

fading between the notes,

feeling your soft body entwined
with mine,

your form bathed in my infinite
kisses,

our orchestral desire rising,

conducting a shared fusing of
passion,

... the music echoing ...

over the precipice,

on the brink of dazzling rainbow
hues,

lost in the void,
of an eternal instant,

plunging through the depths of
rhyme,

pleading,
forever pleading,

for a prolonged,

bouquet of shared time.

Whispers in the Wind

Whispers in the Wind
Written by Adam M. Snow

Entrance me with your tune,
that gentle voice of yours.
Those sway ardent winds of harmony,
an echoed symphony of your life;
each word is wrapped in rhapsody,
flowing with the wind.

Your gentle voice, a breeze;
your whisper -- so angelically,
echoes throughout the world.
I hear it among the wind.
I hear it over the thunder of my beating heart.
I hear it calling to me.

We travel separate roads of life,
I got lost a time or two -- perhaps more.
Your voice helped me along the way;
your whispers in the wind,
echoes of sweet harmony,
it guided me back to you.

I want to hear it once more,
the melody of your voice.
Let it get lost among the wind;
(that sway ardent winds of harmony)
and have it find the heart within my ear.

Let your words etch itself upon my beating heart,
let them live forever upon my heart,
its beats won't fade the memory,
of what you've left in me.
Let them breath through my lungs.
Let me inhale your love;
it's sweet nectar to my soul,
an aroma sweet.

I hear it within a dream;
it brings me peace;
that caring voice of yours.
A stage whisper in the wind;
that soothing beat -- an interval,
an echoed symphony among the wind.

Those treacherous words of love,
"I do" and "love you"
forever in my mind,
forever in my heart.
Forever lingering on -- a song;
your whisper in the wind,
an echo -- a sweet echo.

The Wayward Cafe

I sat in a small wayward cafe,
the smell of coffee beans being crushing into submission
tickled at my nosterls.
The sounds of tin cans and cups
some of them being stacked and others
drop with a violent crash.
The tables all red and round
There sat the women, with their novels, tea cups and coffee mugs
sharing small talk of innocent love.
Some women quiet and others talking.
All of them drinking something.

The cool air blew through the windows,
what a mess that wind made.
Blowing papers all around
and blowing the women's hair back.
A man sat there, writing away,
with an endless cough, a tickle at his Adam's Apple.
Then again everyone had a cough.

I sat there reading poetry, writing poetry, embracing poetry
with a pen in one hand and my head in the other,
gently resting of the red round table.
I wrote of the cafe, the women, the man with the endless cough,
that shattered your ear drums everytime he put his hand to his mouth
and coughed away.

A woman who sat reading way,
drinking lemonade and sometimes
taking long glances up.
She was waiting for someone, I could tell.
I looked at her and she at me,
and we both smiled.
Then a sudden silence,
she looked away from me.
A man, who had an ego,
(Then again, doesn't every man have one)
brushed my shoulder and pushed me away.
He apologized, not sincerly.
They kissed and hugged,
I went back to writing with a frown.
They went away in love, I guess?
And I sat all alone in that
lonesome wayward cafe.
Nothing to keep me company, but smell of coffee and tea
and the laughs of the women sharing small talk,
and that one man with Earth shattering cough.

friction match

fourteen lines make a love sonnet
for both ancient and youthful alike
passionate love lines gushing upon it
putting feeling to page, like tonight

by the time that the fifth comes up
the flush of hot lust reigns full
yet already arched at its apogee
by eighth line fire starts to cool

love's fireworks blaze so beautifully
duly perfect in its dual dueling flight
yet fourth from last line seeks immunity
as ardent passions come crashin' to dislike

yet who among would not strike that match
to fire that work skyward for Eros' catch

Port of Call

Port of Call

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

with the breath of the ocean a caressing balm,
soothing pained memories away,
to the swaying of a solitary palm.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

feeling the brushing away of all past turmoil,
on a quest for solace, ever so hard to find,
yet comforted by the crashing of the waves,
as the tide cleanses all pain,
and leaves despair far, far behind.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

drenched in a sea-breeze of mist,
that hushes the ache of bygone moons,
tasting the salty tang on my lips,
as the burnished sun,
over the distant horizon,
swoons,

and dips.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

searching, ever searching,
for a slice of solitude,
as memory bids a final adieu,
reaching under the sea so vast,
and seeking comfort in the depths,
while embracing,
the tomorrows to come,
wishing that they be true.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

seeing my truths drown,
as they slip beneath the turquoise waters,

feeling my heart ablaze,
with a passion that rarely falters.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

yet knowing that I am home at long last,
wishing the waves would wash away,
the defences that once stood,
like an impregnable wall.

Barefoot on a talcum beach,

alone, not lonely,

I have found, at long last,

my final port of call.

Saturday Rain in Johannesburg

Saturday Rain in Johannesburg…

…With sighs of torrential passion,
the heavens shower teardrops,

weeping with me,
as memories of you come cascading back,

skin on skin, ablaze,
moist kisses, fiery,
gentle whispers of undying love, murmured,

in another life, another time,

far removed from my present, a desolate state of despair,
wallowing in the grime.

…

The rain keeps falling,
each teardrop stinging my face,

tasting the salt on my lips,

I wonder, do you still remember the caresses of my fingertips,

between breathy confessions, and vows of eternal love,

before you left me, stranded on an island of solitude,

wounded as a wingless dove,

bereft of life,
stripped of all traces of fortitude

Scars

She ran her fingers across my skin,
counting my scars as if they were legal tender.
I thought about the moment when skin
breaks apart, when life has a chance
to escape its cage.
I think she could see it in my eyes,
because her touch became a violent rush,
her nails hungry for the burst of
what was wrought between us.
And so, I bled for her;
Staining her hunger with the rage of scars
she couldn’t see.

Slow Death

It rolled off my tongue like a tumbleweed,
and you stood there dazed.
A disease waiting for the injection.
 I laughed.
Not because I hated you,
but because there was nothing
left to do but watch the reality of
the world sink into your bones.
You finally understood why the
stones you throw fall into the lake.
Not because of gravity,
 but because they're old souls
too tired of keeping their heads above water.
 Just like us.
We were drowning each other.
Maybe love is too dense,
maybe mankind too shallow?
Or maybe we're just a bunch of filthy
animals that should have never came up
with such a fairy tale like love in the first place.
 But we did,
and here we are in the midst of a chapter
 barely breathing between sighs
that lie to us both.
Bodies that yearn for one another
knowing that we admittedly barely adjust
each day to the other's mental inclinations.
Heavy with lust our souls twist,
bend, and almost break under the
feeling that made them come alive.
It has become an infection!
"I don't know how I'm going to survive you."

The unsung song

I have a song in my heart,
that has yet to be given notes.
Notes that should kiss piano keys,
and give wings to grace.
Commit wind to pass over
tender chords, and reveal
her beauty to the world.
She inspires tones that
whisper in my mind.
She alone can sing them.
Only her voice will do.

Our War

With every arrow thrown from the lips of her moan,
I yield only an echo of the capture.
I am lost in the reverie of our war.
The thrashing salted in sweet devour
held deeply in breaths of charred lungs.
Nothing is as sweet as this destruction,
the arc of her back against my hips,
the jolting river of united frustration.
We delve into a sacred corruption,
and create a tempest to settle the
wake of day.

A Hollow Shell

a hollow shell
of tangled synapses
sparked into gradual madness
which drowns out the truths of the day
as the mind reeks of the rotten sad moments
that swirl in the rancid soup of forgotten dreams
dreams that once traced a gentle path of innocence
dreams that reached for pure love’s tender touch
dreams now paralysed but once vivaciously alive
what became of those fresh dreams and hopes
as they lie mustily on dusty bookshelves
torn into shreds by time’s fine scimitar
devoid of the touch of raw passion
when all that remains of love is
a hollow shell

PLAY-BOY 2

You know why I run game? It's 'cause I'm a player
I'm the night in shining armor, she's a dragon, I'm gon' slay her
That means when I beat it up, I'm gonna kill it
Tell her keep our business to herself, don't spill it
Can't follow directions, then it's on to the next
Hope you get the message, not talking 'bout a text

Plenty of fish in the sea, you gotta' use the right bait

Move fast, early bird gets the worm, don't be late

I'm a player, I attract all types of women

Get 'em all wet, like they're going swimmin'

Switch 'em up, more than I do my clothes

Got a different chick at all of my shows

Can't choose, there's too many to pick from

I beat that thing up like banging on a drum

Like fishes in water, I got 'em hooked

Chicks galore, schedule's filled, like a library I'm booked

We're in the bed more than hospital patients

Take my time, make sure she's satisfied, I got patience

They call me the Hulk, all I do is smash

It's a hit-and-run, not talking 'bout a car crash

Call it the thing on the side of your bed, one-night-stand

Kinda' like a hit TV show, I'm on demand

Madness is in your name

You have abandoned me with
traces of fire,
every day my skin plays your music,
you are more than a
sound of lyrics,
In my ribs I carry you, like pearls
stuck on shells,
Iet me cover your deserted
soul with my vacant arms,
I shall not be sad like the lakes
and trees far away,
If I stop imagining you my heart
closes like a nocturnal flower,
Who hears your hymns
without you singing?
Madness is in your name,
The clouds over me are a net
of frozen words that never melt,
they constantly read me,
They are like the book of hymns,
with just serene music,
you are gone and you still run away.
Llamando mi nombre
someday you will repent,
and maybe every seed of desires
by then will be drifted,
Like smoke vanishing through air,
you will never know the rest,
as I sail the vast seas and you
stay on solid ground,
I will count the fishes in the ocean
giving them names
with your face on it.

Distant Pipes Lament - Part-1

Into a vortex chemically unbalanced,
Soft velvety dark smooth to the touch.
My heart broken asunder my Souls' pain enhanced,
All darkness Inverted oh so much.

Soft velvety dark smooth to the touch,
Outside reality searching space.
All darkness Inverted oh so much,
I hear the call of ancient race.

Outside reality searching space,
Searching out for ancient rune.
I hear the call of ancient race,
Before a cold lonely winter moon.

Searching out for ancient rune,
Weeping starlight crystal light.
Before a cold lonely winter moon,
Cold desolation In the night.

Weeping starlight crystal light,
Always watching In silver shadows.
Cold desolation In the night,
As cold as old ancient barrows.

Always watching In silver shadows,
Rising spirit of the old mountain dew.
As cold as old ancient barrows,
An ancient calling beckoning you.

Rising spirit of the old mountain dew,
Playing haunting tunes.
An ancient calling beckoning you,
Casting musical runes.

Playing haunting tunes,
Drunken on the old Celtic pipes.
Casting musical runes,
By ancient Arrachs' stripes.

Drunken on the old Celtic pipes,
Enchanting magic sings.
By ancient Arrachs' stripes,
The ancient Celts she brings.

Enchanting magic sings,
Happiness a virtue of Joy In heart.
The ancient Celts she brings,
The glory of ancient days ne'er part.

Happiness virtue of joy In heart,
Breathing In sighs deeply linger.
The glory of ancient days ne'er part,
Kept alive by sorrows' timeless finger.

Breathing In sighs deeply linger,
Staring off Into a horizon distant.
Kept alive by sorrows' timeless finger,
My timeless sorrow runs consistant.

Staring off Into a horizon distant,
Beautiful salted fresh air echoes.
My timeless sorrow runs consistant,
Now my grieving thought upon you flows.

Beautiful salted fresh air echoes,
Churning waves whispering silver cherished memories.
Now my grieving thought upon you flows,
As I receive waves' memory deliveries.

Churning waves whispering silver cherished memories,
Rocked over so gently under a crescent moon.
As I receive waves' memory deliveries,
As Celtic music plays Its ancient tune.

Rocked over so gently under a crescent moon,
Your bright light touches one vision.
As Celtic music plays Its ancient tune,
My heart weeps In Its derision.

Your bright light touches one vision,
Standing out most beautiful lady.
My heart weeps In Its derision,
As warm before me you stand In glory.

The Tears of the Clown

The Tears of the Clown

A veil of smiles,
worn effortlessly.

Tuning out the blurring din,
alone in the cackling throng,

never hoping to belong,
though pining to fit-in.

Peeling off the thin facade,
feeling the pained charade,
melting into the dim parade.

Trickling effortlessly down,
over the strained contours,

of a spurious laugh,

the tears of the clown,

rehearsed, rehashed,

form an unending cold stream,
dissolving the lingering traces,

of this simple boy's dream

Sing to me My Love

The sun has risen and we still in the chamber den,
listening to the bluebirds sing love songs
and the rushing of the stream outside our window.
Life has awaken and we still hibernating and still in love;
giving each other kisses and cuddling close together,
to where our hearts kept warm forever.
Sing to me my love and I shall close my eyes,
and hear passionate lyrics roll off the base of your tongue
and speak your lovely, red lips the words of passion and love.

Sing to me my love
a song to make the bluebirds shed a tear,
to make the prancing deer come up to our front step,
to make the wolves howl at the silvery-laced moon,
to make the mountains grow higher to touch heaven's gates,
to make the rushing water in the streams lead to the seas.
Sing to me my love, oh sing to me.

Love rushes and the birds fly together,
high up above in heaven's blue skies,
and the rushing waters provide charity to the thirsty deer.
Sing to make the flowers grow in our garden,
and sing to make my heart skip a beat,
and I shall hold you in my arms,
sitting by a rich flame, which warms us up,
and I shall sing in return.

Love, my dear, love is all we need together,
we are beauty in nature,
as we sing our songs together,
harmony is what turns the world round and round.
Sing to me my love
and we shall love more than any lover loved another.
Love me, my dear, love me,
and listen to the angels in heaven's grace and glory
sing a chorus of sweet music to our ears,
and we shall sleep together and forever,
and the sun shall rise again,
the birds shall sing,
and we shall sing along with them
in love forever, my dear.

Birth

There was nothing but death in the room,
Fleeting skeletons, dancing to their own doom.
But in her eyes…
A beating heart sang quietly.
Waiting for something to
beckon hope forward.
In that moment,
her vision was my only
anchor to the world around me.
Without her,
I would have fell straight
through,
and then lied to myself
for years. Living a life
of misshapen conformity,
never realizing I was free
from the burden I’ve always
held so fondly.
I could finally be.
And she wanted to
show me how.
Sure that we could do it together.
All I had to do was take her
hand and breathe for the first time.
Finally,
I could be alive.

Another Charred Romance

She felt the calloused hands of a wrinkled scheme
around the throat of her pierced divinity.
                    Loosen another chapter,
let it fall unto the hips
                        of another severance.
Breathe in the disgust.
Swallow the pill,
and let beauty fade.
Tonight,
is just another plague
on both our hearts.

Midnite Rendevous

Thou moon child!

Thou singeth love on the eve of circular whims,

   and the whole world wide is thy disguise;

the glint of wine in the stead of wild romance....

When making thy fermenting tides, she prancing

   upon thy moonlit rocks....

o'er waters dipping her toes in the cool of

evening glade; her lover awaits sipping her

she-champagne, and smiles her every phase,

But they shall sleep till dawn, and morning

and all afternoon long; making new songs

of Pan with odes sprinkling moon-dust

   chants in the lap of timeless lands;

What wonder to have a gladness infinite,

so dashing to walk with new moods

holding hands royal as a chimerical night! ----

To take flight with silver(an) wings, with plumes

darkling to full moons bright in stars

of candlelight; how glazed the lovers terrace

and their speckled gazes to each, eyes alive

with none other composing their own little song ----

She could but ooze into his arms,

and he swoon in her lunar tress,

and taste the scent of her darling eyes....

..... teasing towards the wind(ow)-swept bedroom;

the lamp of romance upon the silk sheets ----

thou moon-child proud with starlit chimes!

..... The lovers elope as many a wild wave,

and thy moon howls without despair,

the lonely of life more distant with every caress,

and he in her heaving bosom,

   doth forget all time,

   but the chime of bliss....

Axis Mundi

This axis mundi, rotates,
   within and outside the veils
I remember walking with you
and how we manifested anything we agreed upon
leaving us both slackjawed and yet
                            not completely surprised...
you called me “My Heart”...because yours,
you said... could no longer feel...
So I felt for both of us

I met you on the other side of the veils
where we were once enjoined.... that is a crisp trip
to release.. ... a burning ache
You were thunder and I, feral...
but we are imprisoned
in time....... and this is not our time
...yet I feel you always
within the veil....
because there
we are two hearts sharing one soul...

I remember speaking with your tongue,
Hearing your whisper within an echo
Of a voice that could shatter the sky
Of any other world;
The beauty of our resonance
Created stars as the ancients
Broke apart.
And their light swam into eyes
That told our story.
Over, and over again;
They channeled the percussion
Of a singular, and yet harmonic
Carapace.
While we danced behind the veil.

It was lifetimes,
one incarnation after another
before I found you..
the other half of Us... entwined
 inextricably as One...
We are heart cells in the depth of the Creator..

In the corridors of time
flesh is the individuation
that has separated us.

Hard to believe
     we chose this...
   and all we have forgotten..
yet I remember always..
that I am the design upon the fingerprint
   that is our essence
and you are the flesh and bone of Us

 This separateness is the ache,
I can only find solace within you

and so I accept the emptiness of your absence
  only assuaged in the knowing
that this hunger will be quenched
on the other side of the veils...
where there is no division

On this side, within time and space...we walk alone..,

“But with the power of epoch’s eclipse,
This flesh will rot, and the boundaries
Between us will break apart;
The stars in our eyes will meet again.”

“Our song, will be forever sung.”

An 02h00 Scribble

a 2:00 AM scribble...

'twas but a lifetime ago
when she floated as if in a dream

when the whistling winds
called out her name

while the truth was revealed
of her love supreme

she walked into the barren landscape of my world

and carved-up an exclusive place

excising the pain as the standard of love fluttered in the breeze once it was unfurled

she walked into the solitary vacuum of a heart rendered mute

instilling in that heart a passion that became impossible to refute

a passion blazing with renewed belief

with solitude consigned to the shadows

and despair shunned into the night like an scurrying thief

her touch was gentle, her manner warm and light

her love an endless sea of possibility

washing up against the shores of my moonless night

and when that burst of colour came through

like a dozen rainbows in the monsoon twilight

her face like a revelation shone

as I silently, in awe, gazed at that miraculous sight

and though a lifetime ago it seems

she regularly dances between the cotton-wool clouds of my dreams

and she infuses my each and evey moment with a love so strong

that effortlessly soothes me knowing that I belong

in the haven of her warm embrace

as I gaze lovingly
at her wondrous face

and into those eyes that pull me closer into the ocean of desire

while my spirit soars up into the heavens, ever so higher

it takes but a moment with her to know

that these feelings shall prevail

for they diminish not, as they continually grow

spawning a paradisical garden of emotion and love

and being entwined in her arms seems like a gift from above

for here is where I always hope to be

anchored safely by her side, and not adrift in the emptiness of the vast lonesome sea

so allow me to thank thee
for the lifeline you cast as I lay drowning in thought

and for being the treasure trove of love that I have always sought

so stay well, sweet one
and remember me once or twice in a moon of blue

and know forever that these scribbled words

are deeply felt and forever shall be, eternally true...

Nature's Naivety

What would you say if I told you,
that I need you?
That every memory of you,
casts a shadow on this moment.
What would you do,
If I reached into the sun
and pulled down the light.
Showed you that
it had no comparison
to what I see in your eyes.
Could you believe it?
I’m in the dark without
your essence.
I find promise in
the prospect of
your comfort.
I just hope it’s
Not another dream
Shedding its skin,
Waiting for its moment
To cast out its beauty
And become another
Failure.
I’m not sure if I
could take it.
Knowing that the
sun could fall
at any moment,
makes a flower
want to grow
elsewhere.
Is this the way of
the world today?
Fickle beauty grows
under incandescent
light fixtures that whisper
lies into the ears of
nature’s naivety.
What will become
of us if we can never
make it real?
We’re standing underneath
the stare of false hope,
and expecting it to not
wrinkle our skin.

Oh if She was like a Love Song

Oh she so beautiful,
like a love song
sung only by the most lovely of voices
of angels who fly overhead
watching down over us all;
and she shall smile so bright,
it shall outshine the sun, stars and the moon.

Oh if she was a love song, I
say if she was a love song
that reminds you of the old days
when smiles and warm embraces
were on every corner,
she will be the most lovely of love songs.

If she were such a love song,
that uplifts the heart in the deepest of sorrow
and sadness, then her smile,
shall indeed brighten an already darkened soul.
Hold her in my arms,
and love her, as she sings to me
such a beautiful love song.
Love her forever,
till the end of times,
shall I never leave her side,
for she is my little love song.

A Broken Blade of Grass

the broken blade of grass
trampled by random fate
lies shattered on the cold
ground

the oblivious slayer of hearts
saunters away nonchalantly
to a destination never to be found

where can I stumble to in this crazy beautiful vivid insane ugly real place that once was mine

when all that's left behind
is the cacophony of merciless
sound and while for silence I achingly pine

but in the end...

it all adds up to nought while that bitter taste persIsts and lingers

while we allow the magical moments to slip through our blistered fingers

until we awake one day from our innured dream that we cling onto while we sleep

finally conceding that beyond mere words, we were hardly ever, that deep

on the contrary, rather shallow we have been as we continue to shovel emptiness into that space so hollow

while lulling ourselves with the promise of the past, and ignoring the freshness of the morrow

a tomorrow filled with peace

a tomorrow once captive, but now on the brink of release

a tomorrow not consumed by the wasted time of the bygone past

but a tomorrow brimming with a gentleness meant to forever last...

Night

night falls
wounded by the days' plight

night consumes
all the hopeful fractured splinters of light

night recedes
into its desolate lair

night extinguishes
the roaring furnace of despair

night hides
from a bubbling desire reaching out to feel

night flees
leaving the jilted to bow down and kneel

night soars
breaking the chains of isolation

night rots
in the cellars of time's vacuum of desolation

night devours
the travails of the day that has past

night mends
the wounds that once were doomed to last

night returns
faithfully as the day must retire

night settles
the doomed voices that mutter and conspire
night consoles
the weary mind and the restless heart so torn
night placates
knowing that night itself is darkest just before a new dawn

so

night freezes
all snapshots of the passing day

as

night embraces
the new while the old simply fades away

vanishing song

she lay in the vanishing sunlight
vulnerable and beautiful
she was as lovely as dreams
she gave herself to me with her heart full of desire's dark romance
with her heart full of the magic of love's tenderness
it was then i knew at long last what it was to be loved
she played a fragment of her song
its beauty like a setting sun on a deep blue sea
and then i knew what it was like to breath once more
like i never knew what it meant to be alive
until her song played
until all my sorrows had vanished in her arms
so she played her song for me all night
it was sweet as a tropical night wind
full of promise and beauty
like this daydream of her soft hand in mine
warms my heart
till her song vanishes

Cartography

I count the syllables of your dreams,

tracing my way home,

using each one as a compass;

Pulling me to you.

Your tongue outlines this map,

shooting stars into the mouth

of a lost sky.

I can feel your veins pulse

against the skin of discovery;

wild drums beat in the

heart of my prowl.

The lashes of your eyes,

in the sway of trees,

scatter across the

break of my horizon,

pushed by the breath

of words spoken

in vivid slumber.

                  “I can hear you.”

Folie a Deux

Mosaic beauty upon a canvased mind -
Abstracts' thought of two;
Spiritually carving an essence defined -
Sculpture's alluring view.

Model charisma, transcendent panoramics -
Chiseled utopia, kissed;
Shapes sexing and molding, sealing ceramics -
Tracing mystiques', blissed.

Embossed lines erect, curves aligning -
Signature beings, weld;
Engraving couplet, trademark entwining -
Crowning bijou, held.

Marbled terra cotta knows statues' Arcadia -
Concrete and clay conceive;
Porcelain angel now lives in Fantasia -
All set in stone make believe.

Love, Mania, and Verse

Love, Mania, and Verse

The pendulum swings,
while the mania in my head,
strips me bare and yanks me,
into the cauldron of love.

Once again,
never divining the tea leaves,
knowing, always knowing,
the gnawing knots of unease,
that curl into a fist.

My isolation is a shield,
a suit of armour,
tightly clad around my self,
once worn,
then discarded,
taking its place,
on my barren shelf.

Love, mania and verse,
coalesce, beseeching me,
with timeous forewarning,
not to tread into the quicksand,
that slippery bog of promise.

Yet,
in times past,
in moments present,
tis' that very promise,
that I cling to.

At times I lose,
myself in the crowd,
rebelling in the solitude found there,

at times I claw,
my way back to the now,
aching for the pain that stings,

the buried voice that sings,
dirges to forgotten emotions,

scribbled verse that flings,
the toys out of my cot,

while I wait,
for the mania to stop,

knowing,
always knowing,
that it shall be,

merely a matter of time,
before the other shoe,
must, as always,
drop.

WARNING: Soppy Love Scribble

Walk with me,
in this lonely world,

where hearts are casually broken,
and kind words rarely spoken.

Take my hand,
on this highway of brittle glass,

where love is traded like blue-chip shares,
and bank-balances are coveted as priceless wares.

Smile with me,
as we walk hand in hand,

as the ocean tickles our toes on the cool beach sand.

Smile with me,
and I shall smile too,

we may not have much,

but you will have all of me,

and I will have all of you.

Vacuum

Callously discarding,

talismans of heart and soul,

hastily scorching all bridges,

in a supernova burying me whole,

retreating into emptiness,

no salvation to be found,

sins too many to absolve,

drowning, in a freshly
dug hole in the cold ground.

Hollow, empty, barren desolation closes in,

asphyxiating me,

within the walls of my dismal room,

sinking into the abyss,

disappearing, fading, lost forever,

inside an emotionless,

vacuum
