A Ride With Mom

A Ride With Mom

All alone in bed
Tonight I am dreaming of the dead

Mom and I were in the car driving
I had no idea where we would be arriving

It was a sunny day
Mom didn’t have much to say

Then suddenly I awoke
This ride was no joke

All these questions in my head
This always happens to me with a visit from the dead

What did Mom want to tell me
Did she just want to share Thanksgiving Glee

So now Mom’s presence in my dream
Sends me to my desk to write down my mental stream

I haven’t dream’t of Mom in years
Not since the Funeral Fears

It’s Two AM in the mourn
Writing this poem is this how Love is born

I will tell my new Lady Friend
About my dream and what I have penned

Did Mom want to hear about Caroline
The Spanish Mexican Beauty who is Divine

Long Luscious Black Hair
A Beautiful Face Beyond Compare

An Angel’s Voice
I have no choice

Her spell is starting to take hold of me
The sight of her can send any man to his knee

Her aroma is intoxicating
I think she is much more than a Fall Fling

Saturday I will give her a purple and white rose
This woman has driven me to write prose

Well I guess it is my turn to take a Female Chance
Maybe we will both find romance

Is this why Mom took me for a ride tonight
To show me my search for Love is finally in sight

Only time will tell if Mom is right
That Caroline will be my darling delight

12 days of kiss-mas

On the 12th day of kiss-mass my true love sent to me
12 dirty undies
11 socks a stinking
10 shoes a humming
9 shirts for pressing
8 trousers
7 days of take-out boxes
6 flagons of beer
5 D V D's
4 mischievous children
3 dozen wine bottles
2 ex partners
and an engagement ring under the tree

How Can I Give Jesus Everything That He Deserves?

How can I give Jesus everything that He deserves?
How can I repay Him for His time?
Three long hours he spent upon the Cross of Calvary
That you and I might live eternally.

How can I give Jesus everything that He deserves?
Gold and silver slip right through my hands.
All I have to offer Him is my thanksgiving prayer—
With Jesus, I am rich beyond compare.

He loves me though I’m a sinner,
And He purchased me with all his blood and pain,
And it makes me feel so humble—
His loss upon the Cross became my gain.

How can I give Jesus everything that He deserves?
His suffering and tears have washed me clean.
Forgiving me for all the evil wickedness I’ve done—
Thank God for giving me His only Son.

Prime Mover

Like the seraphs whose wings unfold,
Christ's light and glory goes not untold;
as the love of his humble grace
moves inside me all time and space,

as the planets orbit heaven's sun
and encircle it one by one--
so, too, am I caught in his sway,
beloved of him from day to day.

Through hosts of astral dimension
God's angels fix their attention
with expectancy and burning pause
amidst the universe's First Cause.

He, the one true Incarnation
that begets cosmic causation,
resolves the Infinite Regress
from the pre-Socratics' egress

with his omniscient wisdom
and the archives of his kingdom
where all can come and read and know
what miracles he'll yet bestow.

Jesus evidence of things not seen

By faith we can kiss the feet that wore the shoes that the latches we are unworthy to loose leave our burdens with thanksgiving sweetly cry ~By faith we can reach up to the nail scarred hands that led the blind man out of town in the way keep looking up to the eyes that wipe away all tears ~By faith receiving His love with and without fears it is written love Him He will lead in the most excellent way living to die dying to live it is by His strength we stand ~By faith we can lean upon Jesus' bosom with listening ears hearing the heart beat of God the small voice saying the Love of God shall never die ~By faith waiting for the horses they fly Lord Jesus the one leadeth with staff and rod the fruitful bow that forever blossom's ~By faith as Jesus heals the blind man looking at His face the blind man looking around saw every man clearly Love is of God we must not from their lovely faces hide ~By love our brothers and sisters we have seen so dearly the brother we have seen on the street stumbling by the knowledge of His saving grace for whom Our saviour died ~By grace of the Lord Jesus in the morrows by and by be that pure and perfect lovely Bride "Who is my mother, or brethren." Could be

I wake up before the sun from a cozy bed

I walk outside and feel the crisp autumn chill

So I put a stocking cap on my head

I walk through the back yard

heading for the woods

doing something city boy

only wish they could

I arrive at my stand

and check the direction of the breeze

before I climb up ole faithful

a dying, dark barked maple tree

I make myself comfortable

as the sun stretches its arms

for the sky

producing iridescent colors

I live for the outdoor

and that's one of the reasons why

Not far behind me a freshly cut field of hay

in front endless rows of cornstalks fill the way

I begin to think of a tradition

My son and I on thanksgiving day.

he is still here with me

even though last November he passed away

I start hearing cars doors shut

its coming from over the hill

carrying an aroma of cinnamon

It's my favorite! Pumpkin pie

Justin, I'll be back, But for now Goodbye

Orpheus My Valentine Not Dead

Last night I believed I saw three Witch Beings
relent and cast down from winter moon
Orpheus, free riding.

Happy all with his magical lyre.
Not in bereavements of old,
no traps and lures set with crying,
he called to me.

His sun-gold limbs were elegant intact.
Feet swift where night wind took him.
Blood red were his cheeks and marked,
telling where he’d been.

By fate or by plan that night he came
into my darkened room, my bed.
His whispered song tenderly to hold me.
Orpheus, my valentine, not dead.

It's Thanksgiving

"It's Thanksgiving" is a children's song, sung to the tune of "Oh, My Darling Clementine".

It's Thanksgiving, it's Thanksgiving,
It's Thanksgiving-time to eat;
Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes,
Pumpkin pie...yum, what a treat!

Bonus activity: Ask children if they were preparing Thanksgiving dinner, which foods they would prepare. Would they prepare traditional dishes, such as turkey, mashed potatoes and pie? Or nontraditional dishes like tofu turkey and carob chocolate pie? Or, would they simply order a pizza? Why did the child choose that particular menu fare-love of tradition, special dietary needs, ease of preparation?
