The Brilliant Spring

Crazy wind whispers
Into the ears of ‘champa’
A light scented Indian flower
Trees are full of them now
Your love in each and every bough

The breeze is cool
Because it is spring
Because it is south wind
Because everywhere is hue
Because it is warm with you

Blue hills and green plains
My room at sixes and sevens
Red bellied wood peckers drumming
Rhythm in feet nimble
Your twinkling eyes with dimple

Our roads are tremendously red
Ashok Palash and Gulmohar
They call it flame-of-the-forest
Love in red supreme
With you in extravagant dream

Books in eloquently colorful blurb
Beauty steps in every curve
Invitation in every nerve
The spring below and spring above
Your healing love

Goes away alas the days
Of dance in soul in warm sun rays
Goes away your ocean gaze
Life in a twilight haze
Your beautiful craze

Ah if I could have turned the clock
Holding your hand in a Gulmohar walk
Only our hands and feet would talk
Around the clock arm in arm
In your beauty and charm

Alas that is not to be a thing
Our time is as short as the spring

Arrives the spring

Arrives the spring
Anacreontic verse 3

Allure of raindrops
as drizzle knocks,
April arrives ...
Ecstatic Spring
ushers joy,
Buds bloom
petals unfold,
Vibrant colours
eyes behold,
Mustard in yellow
wheat gives gold,

Fragrant breeze
to lovers' delight,
Heavenly azure
and soaring flight,
Reigning blue
echoes into sea,

Festivals lure
delicacies to relish,
Step into May
with blushing
Red roses,
Luscious Mangoes
enticing delish,
Basking days
evenings coldish,
Verve satiates
soul's every wish!

Goodbye, Winter

"Goodbye, Winter" is a children's song, sung to the tune of "Frere Jacques".

Goodbye, winter,
Goodbye, winter.
Hello, spring,
Hello, spring.
Tulips in my backyard,
Tulips in my backyard,
Are blossoming,
Are blossoming!

Bonus activity: Take children outside for recess on an early spring day and sing this
song. Ask children how they know the seasons have changed and that spring has
arrived. Is the air warmer? The grass greener? Are flowers blooming? Are butterflies
flitting about?

FISHING FOR LOVE WITH LOVE

FISHING FOR LOVE WITH LOVE

In the pale yellow evening
of spring, from my heart,
I cast a line into a flowing stream.
In the depths of its wetness,
teased my bated hook;
but evasive were the little swimmers
in this gentle brook.
With undying love,
the pale of my heart was fully packed;
grateful not having to throw anything back.

Mental Pictures

As the sun, came glinting through the pines, I hearkened, to euphonies, the wind was playing. While eavesdropping, from within my confines, I pondered what message it might be conveying. As I yawned, stretched and opened the blinds, I returned to the thoughts previously weighing. Now, my wall exhibited, Levolor sketched designs, I hope that you’ve seen what I’ve tried portraying.

Echoes Of The Heart

O' where O' where does my Spring flower bloom........ ~ Chardonnay sips at midnight upon the fires warm glow her face lit in flickering beauty as my hand followed each curve delicate and slow A reunion of two hearts with echoing beauty behold I reminisce in silent murmurs within my heart aglow One year to the day in frantic thoughts I search my loving poetic fortress again and again I yearn ~ O' where O' where does my Spring flower bloom........ LAUNDRY, SPRING THINKINGS

Washing spinning suds
Watching. Thinking on spring things
Carnations in strict
Formation and blue roses
Poses on balconies.

With BLINDING beauty
All are blooming and smell of
Fruity confessions
With their beauty fragrant
Fruity concessions they are

Doing their duty making
Life a lovelier WORLD

Garden Rose

Written August 21, 2013

There's a girl in the garden
She's messing with your rose bed
Plucking weeds out from your head
And watering the seeds in your bed

But where will she wander
When the roses are dead
Will she come back for more
When they turn back to red

She can run all alone
Write this story in stone
On concrete slabs
Of skin and bone

AAh Spring

Spring ushers in our warming breezes, That whispers softly through the trees. Making liquescent, late winter freezes, Then blossoms appear, and later the bees. The trees will soon wear natures clothing, Currently standing naked, tall, and rigid. Shortly, the days will become less loathing, Because my time outside won’t be so frigid.

SPRING RAIN IN DOYLESTOWN PA

     DOYLESTOWN SPRING RAIN
I watch the sky begin to fill,
with clouds that roll and pitch until,
all Heaven seems so black and bleak,
then lightning makes a sudden streak,
and blows the southwind to its will.

The air so fresh it brings a high,
as I breath in the falling sky,
and darkened, all of space now seems,
engulfed in thundering that screams,
and makes the world think it could die.

The first raindrops now hit the ground,
the joy of it is all around,
each budding leaf breaks through its pain,
now free to come out in the rain,
and here is love that's seldom found.

Now falling fast and falling free,
blown in the wind that has to be,
the rain sets in and for the night,
a steady rhythm--cool and light,
and lulls to sleep the deep of me.

Spring Green

I hear the song of spring calling me,
There is beauty in the air blowing free.
Sun whistles through the evergreen pine,
Embracing this longing heart of mine.

Spring, I listen for your song,
The nights of Winter, much too long.
Spring, I seek the warming days,
The Winter shone shades of grays.

I smell the ground as the snow melts away,
The green stems of lilies search the day.
Grasses reach for the sky like tiny hands
Refreshing the colors from dead leaf like sands.

Spring, I see your green bursting bright,
Sanctuary in the sun a warming sight.
Spring, with ease you paint the scene,
With flowering pastels and shades of green.

I taste the freshness in the air.
Oh, sweet Spring, a gift I long to share.
Birth to the beauty, rebirth to the sun,
The seasons battle, and Spring has won.

The Call of Spring

The birds sit on the willow;
The sun peeps from the sky.
Downstream the noisy rivers flow,
And busy ants scurry by.

A butterfly with rainbow color
Runs wildly as a vine -
Passing o're the flowers
In paths of strange designs.

The flower trees are bending:
Smiling to the rain.
Gigantic trees are mending;
And summer dawns again.

The Simple Things

The shrieking sun
& ponderous waters
The cerulean skies
& infinite stars
The radiant flowers
With silver lined petals

All these things,
Among many,
Are things that amaze me

But beneath the
Shrieking sun
Ponderous waters
Cerulean skies
Infinite stars
& radiant flowers,
Lies sadness
Subtle sadness

Such beautiful things
Can hide sadness
That is why I am afraid
Of the things that amaze me

My Wishes are Simple

My Wishes are Simple

My wishes are simple,
my desires few,

to gaze upon an ocean,
and marvel at a solitary drop of dew.

My wishes are simple,
my dreams not too grand,

to feel the waves teasing my tired feet,
with no footprints left in the cool, wet sand.

My wishes are simple,
my thoughts serenely gentle, calm,

my heart resting beneath a swaying palm,

healing my being, caressed by nature's soothing balm.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Anacreontic Verse 3 Contest
Sponsor: Edward Ebbs

Tender sprinkles
drizzles of vigor
April grants
roots of life
entwined seedlings
buds a bloomin'
Spring flourishes
slivers of sun
pansies sprout
splendid day lilies
peak with desire
unknown beauty
lying beneath
earth's tilted axis
eager to blend
May penetrates
mother nature
with her seasons
new life awoken
merging blossoms
pink lilies adored
daisies of yellow
florets embraced
alluring scents
stunning white roses
a lovely gift
for my sweetheart

Spring and You

Lying in a verdant spring field,
scents of fruit and roses permeate the air;
thoughts of you are never far.
They caress like the sun's warm rays,
bringing a suffusion of joy to my heart.

The hum of occasional automobiles
blend with the drone of honey bees
lulling my senses like a Gregorian chant
in an Austrian monastery.

You and nature have become
my tenants of religion,
calming my restless spirit;
soothing my soul,
until I am a placid lake
soaking in all that is you.

In Bloom

Written July 29, 2013

The wind blows the rainbows down
Turns your frown upside down
Then spins it back around

The sun hides the moon
Underneath its coat in bloom
The flowers came late this June

The rain in a teardrop
Falls like dew from a leaf
When she looks at me

See that look upon her face
Used to take her to the stars
Now she's headed back from Mars

Now that Venus loves her more
Wouldn't throw her to the floor
Like before

celsius

Fallen snow will remind of me/ it is snowing ...
Slowly as in the dream/
Boy word-beads/ with signs on his spine/
He kisses fine/
Your eyelids /

And it snows ... It snows /so slow/
It does/ and you're thinking of me/
'Coz it's warm/ it's better to stay in warmth/
Waiting for summer dim/
It is snowing/ slowly like in the dream/
Flakes/ go round/ playing the music theme/
You've been looking for rescue/
You searched in wine/
But it's in me/
all the rescues are mine/
It is snowing/ the snow is fluffy and white/
If you see darkness/ I'm deaf and blind/
there's the cast of time/ on the arm/
But I discern the light/
Dreams/ upon your eyelids tips/
Prepare you for winter drowse/
And it snows/

Fallen snow/ will remind of spring /
it will crumble and crackle in vain/
It will snow / fluffy /white/ and slow/
And you'll become whole/

Spring Love

My rich brown earth, teaming with life,
I lay my head upon your breast;
I listen to your beating heart--
Its quiet drumming bids me rest.
You lie here naked in the spring
Stripped bare by winter's cold;
But soon your grassy gown will grow
And daises lace your hair with gold.

Through winter's long and snowy night,
I have hungered for your face,
To smell the sweet scent of your breath
And hold you close in my embrace.
Today we lie here, unashamed,
Within the Sun's resplendent view.
He spreads a blanket of his light
Upon two lovers, me and you.

May

May in Moscow's my favorite month,
You feel you live, no longer exist.
You look beautiful, no more a moth,
Every morning green grass bears some mist.

May is for taking long evening walks,
Breathing spring air with spirit and scent.
In May there's time for meaningful talks
Feeding motivation and intent.

Then June walks in and it's my birthday.
It sweeps you off your feet in a dance.
In July you'd curse the heat and say
"It's hot!" begging for get-away chance.

Each August some disaster happens:
Default, hurricane or sudden death.
You stack inside your moral weapons
And soon long for autumn's cooling breath.

September's about kids, new school year,
Trees change color and caress our eyes.
Don't you think of winter when you smear
Hopes and no longer see the skies.

October's about walks in cold parks.
Meeting good old friends and drinking wine.
Can't get enough of talking 'til sparks
Come out of eyes. With content you shine.

"Summer is little life of its own"
That is what Russians like to think.
Now it's gone but at least it has shown
Us how to live, dissappeared with a wink.

November through March's 'bout depression:
Dull times, try to get by, day by day.
You taste darkest times of agression
Then April again takes in dismay.

SPRING

Spring
Spring is being born in the early morning... The glades are awakening into gentle green, The dawn songs of bashful blackbirds Are echoing through the woods... I am listening to the warbling of blackbirds, The harmonic singing of black choirs Lead by an invisible conductor. The chattering of the blackbirds' chorus Is getting ever louder And now uttering their songs are others too. A heavenly melody of birds' choirs has emerged Which - off the slopes of a forest glade - Echoes in the pleasant Symphony of a blissful morning.

April Showers

April Showers April showers… so welcomed when our winter's gone and done. Snow dissolved into the ground to now await the springtime sun. Trees lift up dry resting limbs, wait for water to awake their dormant curled up buds... thirst-quenching gift they take. April showers bring new flowers sustenance to help them grow; hydrated soil, nutrients seep into their new life flow. Before our eyes blooms unfold… their lovely scene! SPRING IN AIR, LOVE ONLINE

SPRING IN AIR, LOVE ONLINE 20/02/13

Nowadays , life is so unpalatable and stoic.
So unnecessarily busy and eventfully hectic.
Young folks thus gather in a shadowy discotheque, to kill,
The retreating winter shedding its last chill.
The chirps of the departing migratory,
With massacred green in a concrete urban factory,
Welcomes the spring breeze, and the cuckoo melody tune,
That too so rare,
For a short term vacation, in a vanity fair.
Some emotional fools and roaming vagabond,
Can feel the spring air and reminiscences their fond,
And cry for the past and the long lost love bonds.
Beside them no one dares to mingle,
Their soul with the colour of butterfly twinkle.
No one cares to see the young green boughs,
Dancing in a frolic of crispy air that jingle.
All is there, in the air, except love my dear,
‘Cause love is now confined,
In another little world so secure.
Where there’s no hasty rushing,
No meaningless blushing,
No hassled waiting, no worrying restriction.
Love is just a ready-made parcel,
At a press of a small button.
Love messages, e mails , tweets, face books ,web cyberspace and profile update,
Takes all the bothering responsibility, does all the necessary tete-a-tete.
No need for time taking arguments,
No need for extra commitments.
Sometimes, meetings could be arranged, but
Oh! Never in public park or in a hopeless garden.
It could be in a shopping mall or a cool coffee den.
The gorgeous and the grotty,
All gather at a V-day party.
Those who are privileged,
Share their love with diamonds and wine.
But for others, not a single grape,
Is sour in a vine.
Everything is taken for granted,
Just simple and fine.
‘Cause love can also be shared,
Simply free of cost on line.

When Darkness Hides the Spring

When I am dead who will read
these little songs I sing
when thick the mould presses down
and darkness hides the spring?

My soul so filled with longing,
finds too short life’s little day
to fulfill a lover’s hunger
for earth’s beauteous bouquet.

I think my voice will shout aloud
although they say I’m dead,
and my mute heart will sing until
the grasses tremble overhead.

First Day of Spring

Written October 26, 2013

Love cries out from a songbird
On the first day of spring
And all the flowers bloom in the rain
And sunshine reigns
Over every boy and every girl
In this town that's driving me insane

On the first day of spring
The beginning of the end
Blue skies pulling me in
Along with all my friends
Rain shields the sun again

Alone in my room
I rescind
To the deepest depths of my soul
To sew back shut a hole
That will make me whole

I'm melting to the permafrost
How I feel so lost
In the world I used to call my own
Now I feel so alone
Without a house to call my home

Opening Day 2016 - for contest

Opening Day 2016 (anacreontic verse)

If it rains
droplets
piercing cold
curse not
imagined
Goddesses
nor summon
power from
remorseless
Gods.
Hold fast to
ageless youth
seize hope’s
listless will.
Raise high
her tattered
Red Sox
banner,
huddle with
the cheering
masses. Order
two dogs,
everything,
two beers,
ice cold.
Feel the
heartbeats
pounding roar

gauntlet thrown,

PLAY BALL!

The Tansy and the Tarragon

The tansy and the tarragon are sprouting in the lawn;
I can smell their pungent fragrance in the dewy after-dawn.
The crocus and the daffodils are prancing up the hill;
their dresses all a-shimmer and their bodies never still.
The happy little bluebird is flitting all about
to find the perfect property to hang his shingle out.
The tulip swords are shining in the early morning sun,
and I thought I saw Br'er Rabbit havin' him some rhubarb fun.
It's spring and spring is glorious; brings the child right out of me.
makes me want to dance at midnight beneath budding apple trees.
