While you sleep I tell you all of the things I keep inside throughout day.
Now that you can hear but not listen I find them much easier to say.
My hopes, my dreams, my fears, and everything in between
Your subconscious hears so keen, or so it seems.
My tongue is soft; I speak so sweetly
Knowing your reaction will never greet me.
Tonight will be different in what I want you to know.
It has everything to do with what I can’t help but show.
I hold no claim to any religion but you’ve given me a place for my faith.
Somewhere it will never stale or lose its lavish taste.
You’ve shown me something I can see, touch, and feel,
And so before it I choose to kneel.
I know I don’t say it but I miss you every day.
Sitting, thinking of the perfect words to be my choice,
Yet when you call I can’t find any of the right words to say.
I’m just happy to finally hear your voice.
Even just a moment is enough to sooth my heavy heart;
Fearing the ends of conversations knowing we’ll have to part.
I’ll never be too far from you, always within arm’s reach,
And in your days of darkness I’ll be the light that you will seek.
I’ll never let you leave too far from me, I’ll stay close behind you in this world;
Secretly protecting what is mine, you will always be my girl.
I only want the best for you so the best of me I will employ.
Faithfully yours, I will always be your boy.
I close my eyes and kiss your soft sweet lips
And see the very best of you in loving bliss.
I see past the physical which makes you attractive
And focus on the things I can’t see in which I’m attracted.
Your thoughts I’d love to hear them all.
Of the things you speak disinterest never makes its call.
My day will come, I know someday I’ll be the only one.
And you I will pursue viciously,
Because I’ve given you the greatest gift I can give, to love unconditionally.
Yes our day will come, I know someday we’ll be as one.
And you I will pursue viciously,
Because I’ve given you the greatest gift I can give… to love unconditionally.
A cold autumn morning,
new rains have arrived
today not so ordinary
A little girls birthday goes by
she had an accident
she awoke in her bed wet
today she is six, a present she did
A day without the jug cord
would be her birthday wish
Her hope is soon faded,
for there her mother stood,
A birthday beating just begun-
her mothers' way
of a little fun
"you dirty little b!#@h"!
I'm sick of washing your sheets
this will fix you...and fix you good
till you're black and blue
...or till I'll make you bleed"!
Happy Birthday to me...
through aches and tears
I am happy
I survived to date six years
alone in her closet
she'd make this her car
travel to far away happy lands
go shopping for a star
once she bet the jug cord
she collected up the sheets
took her mums' old coal shovel
buried them under the house
darkest corner beneath,
her father gave her sixpence
every time she was dry,
or if she wet, he'd make her wetter
he'd put her in a cold bath
the little girl would trick him,
moving the sheets about
her mother would come in the room
catch the little girl out
the little girl did such things
out of fear she lied
the little girl was in a place
she was trying to survive
she adapted to her father
she adapted to her mother
though difficult it was
it affected everything
looking back the way she was
she changed her life completely
eradicated the fear
her life gets better and better
year after year
her mum and dad to this day
the little girl forgave
she understands the way they were
a woman she has grown
forgiving to her grave
she struggles on her birthday
preferring to enjoy
her spirit accepts what happened
on that day the present
I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,
i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,
once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.
(Dedicated to Danielle Bryant)
It's your special day
And I have so much to say.
Oh that time will let me,
There are thousands of things to make you see:
The happy times,
Lengthening with the clock's chimes;
The beautiful talks we exchanged,
Never believing there could be a change;
The midnight conversations,
Smiles on our faces our only compensation;
Our dreams and hopes,
The only reason we could cope.
Those moments we spent together
Are memories I'll cherish forever;
Memories I can look at and smile,
Knowing they are reasons to aim high.
Oh if I could do more than just words
And not pull memory chords!
It's your special day
And my own very special way
Of wishing a happy birthday
To a friend who just walked away.
It’s My Birthday
It’s my birthday… I look out the window there is no one for me owe so, owe so lonely poor me .
It’s my birthday… you surprise me, with a Barber-Q grill with a cooler that chills with a grin we show white grills.
Happy Birthday… it’s my Birthday I am still waiting, it is almost the end of my the day, just waiting on you to wish me a happy birthday which, well make my day.
It’s my birthday…you do not remember that day, can we go out for we can remember that day?
It’s my birthday… I can share it or alone, some share it with a twin, or with a friend and the ones who stay to the ends like a good friend.
It my birthday… its looks like another day to me I just need someone or something to comfort with me a room full of women and with hand full men, a juice in cup, juice in glass, with a sweet lady and grill on cut grass that may make every day feel like my birthday, with a touch of class.
It’s your birthday… it’s your birthday you should all-ways win on your birthday, if do not have a mate you sneak and go on second party date form those who may player hate.
Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday! it comes and go, I see you come through, looking out my window with a hand full company that is what a party really should need, yes it’s sweet, sweet with music and sweet with treats or it must be the money, or food, or brinks, or just me.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Can you feel the adrenaline
'Cause I formally invite you
To my summer night cruise
It is dress to impress
So bloke's put on your coat and vest
And girls slip into your best clothes
as well as your stilettos
We will be rocking the boat
and sowing a few wild oats
From Seven-thirty to midnight
So please be flirty and nice
There will be great food and drinks
As mister Dj spins and syncs
and lets the vivacious mood sink
On January Nineteenth
First borne kin of me loin, why just like yesterday
Unbeknownst to this then unpracticed dada how tempus fugit
Will in a brief flash (like time lapse photography) steal a way
Thine eldest lass swaddled, pampered and attended with oye vay
Sans another soiled diaper to change, retrieve futile dropped binky,
Or sundry other basic need to get abreast per comfort to stay
E’en the simple pleasure per warmth from winter solar ray
Which constancy of nurturance seemed to last as long as infinity
a mental calculation said progeny tossed aside like…child’s play
Yet this papa pined for harmonic, idyllic and pacific month o May
When picture perfect weather invited me baby daughter to explore or lay
Upon the fresh mown hay
Innocent august bliss stashed in her memory bank molded like clay
Whereby this papa tried to keep danger at bay
But tis rash to seal hermetically and try to keep jarring reality away
Until she sped thru fifteen years on this earthen tarmac
Beautiful dame with an attractive physique and mind that takes up slack
From strains imposed from this fractious abode, where I rack
My noggin per our precarious, perilous perch whence we must pack
A hardship no doubt internalized by this sweet babe smarts she aint lack
In tandem to her maturation and self reliance emotional light years
Ahead of this sire, she addresses as “sir”, who emotes with flack
At utter chaos here and thus realizes internal misery will take shape
When she and the younger punim come back
Yet, her absence felt though she oft spent time alone
In the former master bedroom, now wishing for a clone
Of thine delightful youth and marvel whence
Sixteen years ago from the womb she entered this World Wide Web
While “mother – abby” did push and groan
Whereby tears streamed down me cheeks at miracle biology did hone
Over the course of nine months gestation, and now…merely on loan
When she becomes of age to take flight, though this father will moan
But tis fitting and proper offspring doth not become a rolling stone
Like me, he who contributed to this precious gift no gem canst a tone
If…bereft of this sweet progeny
For this poet would cease to enjoy life and enter the twilight zone!
EDEN – I LOVE YOU OH SO MUCH! MORE THAN WORDS CAN EXPRESS TIS MY WISH FOR YE TO GAIN SKILLS TO MANAGE EACH CHALLENGE VERSUS BEING TETHERED TO FEAR SUCH AS EVIDENT IN ER APP PARENT SITTING WITH INXS OF PSYCHE KEY DELL LICK MOODY BLUE FEELINGS!
Oft come days when invariably it seems,
As if I'm simply whipping a dead horse.
Feet touching floor bring muted Gout screams,
Heard above my popping joints of course.
Yesterday's greeting was my birthday song,
Vocalized by a very special friend of mine.
The neighbors house burning, didn't take long,
But conveyed a message, that my day was fine.
Until sis Norma called, (who suspects I'm a flake)
With pertinent information to gladly share.
She said the 74 candles on my birthday cake,
(Not burning house) caused smoke to fill the air.
Christmas Through July
Christmas is such a grand time of the year!
People are happy joy shows everywhere.
Gifts of love arrive from both far and near.
Scents of the season permeate the night air.
Remembering the Savior's love so grand.
Families hang lights, such a beautiful sight.
Decorations displayed across the land.
Many surprises are shared Christmas night.
January came but the tree remained.
Celebrating my child's birthday the same.
Just like Jesus, her happiness sustained.
Each year's tradition when her birthday came.
Year round loving was about to be taught.
Decorations of hearts and shiny red balls
Replaced the angels that Christmas had brought.
February feelings Christ's love did recall.
In March, the tree was adorned with shamrocks.
Paper-mâché nuggets sparkled in gold.
Children and laughter sang around the clock.
Smiles, like at Christmas, were great to behold.
April was spring pretty flowers were hung.
It took a lot of work, but was it still fun.
We at play felt pure joy, free and young.
One fun filled plan to teach love, begun.
May decorations, the best, I recall.
Mother's day cards, painted hands, paper plates.
A trip to the attic was fun for all.
While cherishing the loves childhood creates.
Christmas in June on a new marriage day
Downstairs jam-packed squeezed in each wedding guest.
Rained out at the park, they saw our display.
Christmas year round knew love at its best.
July 30th past, the flags were still hung.
Patriotism shown, honored with rare style.
Christmas in July with a new day sung.
We took down the tree cherishing each smile.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This lyric poem written in quatrain format is a true story that expresses my feelings about
showing love year round…not just in December.
