It Matters Not

It hovers here, a moon opaque, obscuring mountain trails I take. No other living things appear. A moon opaque. . . It hovers here. I follow on along a ledge; below a swirling river’s edge. In front of me, the canyon’s yawn. Along a ledge, I follow on. I see no hue when fog congeals. Oh, doom of one who no more feels! The moon has fled, as so have you. When fog congeals, I see no hue. Now all is dim; it matters not. My dear one’s heart I have not got. No use in living without him. It matters not. Now all is dim. At peace I’ll be if I should fall to murky water from this wall. Oh, yawning canyon, swallow me. If I should fall, at peace I’ll be. 'for the Gothic or Romantic (old/new) Contest of Giorgio Veneto and now for the contest of PD

Forbidden Love

Is it possible that an angel and a demon could fall in love?
And, remain soul mates for all eternity?
Yes, and I will tell you how it happened.

Maybe, it was a miracle that they met
or maybe it was just meant to be.
That an angel fell out of heaven and a demon escaped from hell
on the very same day.
They saw no one, but each other.
Yet, neither had ever seen such a creature.

The angel was beautiful and kind.
This angel had fallen from heaven
a place of light and life, and of hope and peace.

The demon was imperfect and shy.
This demon had escaped from hell
a place of darkness and death, and of despair and pain.

When they met, their eyes met.
And without a spoken word.
The angel saw only tenderness and hurt in this lost demon.
The demon saw only compassion and love in this lost angel.

It did not matter to them if one had wings, and the other had horns.
Yet, they saw themselves within each other.
Even though they were from two different worlds.
They embraced each other.
Though, they knew their love was forbidden by others like themselves.
So, they decided to remain here on earth.
Where their bond could not be broken.

The heart of the angel was no longer filled with loneliness and longing.
The heart of the demon was no longer filled with torment and sorrow.
Love is what they both were searching for.
And it was found on that very same day.
A forbidden love, everlasting for all eternity.

Zodiac Zombie

She cries comets of burning ice
rocketing through a wilderness of bleeding rubies
her constellation, Anaconda, the 13th Sign, drinker of soul wine,

Her cheeks permafrosted with white agony
the accumulation of eons without the lips of her Man's love mercy,

When the word WHY becomes an acronym
for What Have You,
When knowledge of loss is your only gain,
When questions and answers no longer serve a frantic heart
rebellion is the necessary blessing of love becoming beast,
When everything sacred seems destin to be violated
and reborn as a beautiful monster
she became, the Zodiac Zombie,
her heart a super nova explosion,
a demoness on the breath of Death's delay
hunting hearts born through her Star House,
asphyxiating the affection of all who incarnate through her system,
feeding on the veins of fresh obsession, of virgin devotion,

Legend has it that she births the great Poets and Rebels
for their passion is unparalleled in pride and sweet sacrafice,
she is the Zodiac Zombie, Queen of the Black Sea, Goddess of love bleeding -

Wayward Child

Ah, memory is a fickle lover succumbing to the tide
grasping for the grains of sentiment sometimes left.
In cold or torrid waves, spent passions now abide
for you have left me, long ago, I'm now, alone bereft.

Grasping for the grains of sentiment sometimes left:
beside a roaring bonfire, where sparks on night winds glide;
for you have left me, long ago, I'm now alone, bereft.
I huddle in a dune's dark shade with nothing left inside.

Beside a roaring bonfire, where sparks on night winds glide,
we conceive a wayward child, a changeling child, a thief.
I huddle in a dune's dark shade with nothing left inside,
as the waves of age and ages, return only grief.

We conceive a wayward child, a changeling child, a thief.
In cold or torrid waves, spent passion now abides,
as the waves of age and ages, return only grief,
ah, memory is a fickle lover succumbing to the tide.

You Know I Love You

Winds may howl,
Wild animals growl,
The forest grows cold,
For I am lonesome and old
As the sun peaks through the clouds,
I hear your soft, young voice so loud!
And though you speak dead man's lines,
You speak them with majesty divine
As I am wrapped in my woe,
I only want you to know...
...that roses die black and violets lose blue,
But I will never die
And you know I love you!

A Single Soul Cries Out

A Single Soul Cries Out

Across this barren lake my ghost did sail
lost and heading straight into another hell
Behind, remnants of a dark and wayward past
treasures stored that shall never last

Sunny skies ever looking down upon me
joined by those memories soul sought to flee
No wind to send my ghost sailing right along
on the shore images of a faceless throng

So far ahead a welcoming sandy white beach
forever racing farther and farther from my reach
No deeds to perform to gain my deep reprieve
only memories of those I so easily did deceive

Within this lonely lake a single Soul cries out
forgive me , forgive me , in a wailing shout!

Robert Lindley

note: Once a man raced about all alone,
stumbled upon a rolling stone,
fell into a headlong dismay,
gathered the courage to just pray,

Words that did by faith then atone,
soon the condemnation was forever gone..

Locked in a Jar

Does the one who loves you know who you are?
She needs a real man not just a facade.
Don't keep your heart locked away in a jar.

Not being open she'll think you're a fraud.
She longs to share every part of herself.
She needs a real man not just a facade.

Your heart is out of reach on that old shelf.
Where she can see it but it's out of reach.
She longs to share every part of herself.

But you hold onto her just like a leach.
In the glass jar it looks so very clear.
Where she can see it but it's out of reach.

If you open it what is there to fear?
Are there dark spots you don't want her to see?
In the glass jar it looks so very clear.

Is it that you're afraid that she will flee?
Why won't you reveal every part of you?
Are there dark spots you don't want her to see?

There are some good men, be one of the few.
It's time to reveal every part of you.
Help the one who loves you, know who you are.
Don't keep your heart locked away in a jar.

TIME KEEPER

Seconds,
My life seems to work anti-clockwise
With every tick I seem to get less wise
By the minute counter-clock-wise
As I split-seconds closer to my demise
Look deep in to these eyes
There is no I to make this a life
So let me die

And here I lie
Clip off these wings you gave me to fly
I have no reason to visit the skies
I'm now too cold to be your sun
Still here I lie
I just hate it when you smile
It seems to kill all that poetry in your cry
Now say goodbye so you can drown your pillows with tasteful life
Because here and there I lied
Auctioned pieces of your heart for pounds of flesh I lost taste for after a couple of bites
I was greedy and they were needy- that defined exploitation
See now I believe it would take more than one crucifixion to cleanse my sins
So don't forgive me
I now belong to the Darkness
And your love is not welcome here

This Rage

This Rage

Caught in this rage , his ...not my own
Desperately seeking , the right way home
Does he see me , know I'm real
Does he see....this heart I reveal
Together ... I'm alone
Alone ... I am lost
Waiting depleted ...
step aside or be tossed
My heart hungers more , each passing day
Left to my fears , on bloodied knees I pray
This spinning in circles never to end
Slowly losing the real ... lost in pretend
Lying in this cold I shiver and shake
Welcoming this coldness is all I can take
The light behind me I'm told is the train
can't speed my step , efforts wasted ... in vain
Darkness consumes , taking it's fill
Numb and sad is all that's real
Soon I know this darkness will end
Sun will shine , birds will sing song
And I will find ... where I belong

I dreamed a dream of You

Yesterday I dreamed a dream,
that had no end.
You in your white gown, and long, black hair flowing.
You were calling my name.
I heard you, but I couldn't reach you!

And when I say your soul was tainted.
You went out in the night life.
You dressed in your black, evening ball gown.
You danced till the Red Sun came out, over the horizon.

You smiled at me.
A flame in my heart burned red hot!
My knees and hands shook with nerves;
Nerves of love and joy.
I blew you a kiss,
but you turned away!
Oh, please don't turn away from me,
for I would die, if it happened again!

Your beautiful and golden heart showed me the truth.
The truth that every gentleman wants to hear.
I've seen you walk the streets,
in the blue dawn of August.
As I followed you, you stopped and looked at me.
You smiled so beautifully, and my heart fluttered into oblivion!

You walked with your friends and I went my way.
I couldn't find a single trace of you that day.
I cried out "Why did I leave her like this?!"
I looked for you, all over the courtyards and town squares!
Yet no sight of your beauty.
... No sight of your golden heart, that I hold so dear to mine.
Where did you go?
Why did you leave?
Why did I leave... that is the question!

I should have stayed by your side,
till the ends of time.

Yet I had left.
Why...?

One gloomy and parish midnight.
I came along a road,
and soon found myself in front of a wayward cafe.
Smiling faces all around me.
I spotted a beautiful face that outstood all the other faces around me.
It was yours.

Your face brought me to sanity and I went over too you!
You spotted me and tried to run!
I caught you in the dirty hallway and pulled you in.

Our eyes met and I fell in love once again.
Sanity re-entered my mind, body and soul.
I kissed you and you kissed back.
You held my hand, and we left the cafe and walked down the street.

The street was gloomy, yet we together brightened the dark street.
We went back to the lit up city streets, of the lands filled with smiling faces,
and we fell in love and slept together.

You lay there in my restless arms and I gave you a sweet kiss,
upon your sweet and soft head.
Your dark hair was sweet smelling and felt of silk.
I closed my eyes and fell asleep with you,
there in my arms and we dreamed together
till the morning came and woke me up,
and took you away from my weak and weary arms.

I dreamed a dream of you.

Goodbye, My Child

Where cradled canyons sing
Of ebony wood in the forest
There lies a gurgling spring
Where cockcrows sing their chorus
To the melody of singsong birds
There I’ve concealed my sensuous words
Filled with befitted signs
The saccharine whiff of my designs

Come to me my mortal youth
To the wild realm of your truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only your tears be found

Where the fogs of night are fountains
Spills of glistened moon ignite
By distant silhouette mountains
We dance with passion of fight
Entwining ancient stance
Mingling hand in hand we dance
Till the mountains smile on high
Near and far we spring
To pursue the realest of dreams
While the world cries at its seams
Anxious in trouble to cling

Come to me my mortal youth
To the wild realm of your truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only your tears be found

To where the ridges merry make
From the beaks of wooden bright
In sparkly pools the ghouls awake
That scarce to stir our night
We watch for seekers down under
Muttering secrets in their soul
We bid them lucks of shivers
Dipping gently in
From reeds that hide a tear of a foal
Under the gentle rivers

Come to me my mortal youth
To the wild realm of your truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only your tears be found

Far away she shall ever churn
The taciturn eyed
She’ll listen no more to turn
To the working mills beside
Or the scrubbing of the barn
May peace weave in her song
She shall wave in the yarn
To a haven known as Belong

Come to me my mortal youth
To the wild realm of your truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only your tears be found

For she comes, the mortal youth
To the wild realm of her truth
Where nymphs and gnomes abound
For the earth is filled with weeping
And only her tears be found

Cry In The Dark

As you cry in the dark and your tears find the pillow
You think I don't know, those tears filled with such sorrow
Are for that long ago love, then comes tomorrow
I wish for today, your heart I could borrow

Dreams filled with the memory of her face
Wisps of her hair, visions of ribbon and lace
The look in her eyes, another time and place
I wish this from your mind, I could forever erase

But war time came and took you away
And never knowing your fate, day after day
Time took its toll, as time will do
She went on with life, her life without you

As I cry in the dark and my tears find the pillow
You'll never know, these tears filled with such sorrow
Are those longing for love, again comes tomorrow
I wish for today, your heart I could borrow

The Rose

Once bloomed a rose so young and fair
With dark brown eyes and long black hair

Beside her be a tall dark tree
Whose branches stretch to smother thee

Too close beside the shadowy bark
That soon begins to leave its mark

She cries for help, but none shall hear
Her thorns too sharp, who’d dare go near?

To save this rose, who’d risk their life?
With naught to gain but pain and strife

Alone, afraid, she lays to rest
Her heart beats low inside her chest

And with the hour growing near
She sheds her final grieving tear

And so the rose soon falls asunder
Her final day, eternal slumber

She lies beside the old dark tree
The only one who mourns for thee

Rescued From Death's Bed

Rescued From Death's Bed

The angel touched her heart then
turned her away from mortal men
Setting her course to sleep alone
in a cavern where no light shown

Yet she travelled in nightly dreams
to shining lands with epic streams
Upon which hardy men sailed away
making fortunes wherever they may

Lonely travellers so far from home
missing love as they set to roam
Dreams of beautiful vixens at night
saw her appear glowing in her light

First she could see but not speak
a silent image their heart did seek
As the sad years flew swiftly by
her words appeared telling men why

Her punishment was for her misdeed
an unfaithful lover she cut to bleed
Watch him bleed life into the dust
never again was she to ever trust

Avenging angel sent to punish then
keep her away from all mortal men
For her beauty could sway any heart
to find her a map drawn on a chart

Hundreds tried but nobody did win
free her from the cavern of her sin
As her broken heart started to fall
she heard a brave sea captain call

Map he had memorized just to find
the image that appeared in his mind
Into the dark lost lake he did sail
his love swore that he'd never fail

Moon was full bright when he arrived
to elude her guards he had contrived
Plan to lure her terrible guards away
rescue her before the break of day

Her guards were two dragons fierce
with scales no weapon could pierce
Captain would flash powder to blind
their eyes as in he went in to find

All went just as was his bold plan
out the cavern he and his love ran
Soon two lovers were aboard his ship
dragon guards they managed to slip

Sun rose, she saw a dead lover's face
back to death his soul had to race
For the captain was her victim bled
freed her from his dark death's bed!

Chasing the Dark

Somewhere in the languid night I'll chase the dark to find you…. Do you search a distant sky this lonely hour? There are lights upon the trail, where I have gathered the stars, The moon will be a candle- while darkness frees you With the friendship of the night I tread the dark in silence- moon and stars my companions, until I find you

Light or Dark, We Choose To See

Light or Dark, We Choose To See

We that cry for so very much more
always fear opening of death's door
Images of sickle and bony face
death's image we can not erase

Steps taken into a cavern dark
a journey we fear to embark
Eyes shut, the light then flees
prayers given on bended knees

Shall we ,

Dance to the music of misty dawns
celebrate the beauty of newborn fawns
Join in Nature's majestic treasure
stroll the woods and never measure
The beauty of that calming sound
from the depths of Nature's holy ground

Or,

Simply remember to sincerely praise
the joy Life and Nature will forever raise
Songs in our hearts that so richly give
paradise glimpses while we yet live.

Song in the Dark

~
There are legends I've heard, old songs in the dark
of the old folklore tales, and the old gypsy trails,
where traveling caravans of rugged old wagons
still echo, with longing, in valleys below...

Where each treasured belonging,
was packed in a hurry
all the stories, all the worry, all the heartache would travel
all the sunshine, and the sorrow, celebrations to marvel
and dreams of tomorrow, were kept on the road....

The trail was a friend, and the loam was their home
Their needs were quite small,
For, they didn't expect, to be wealthy or rich.
All the riches they had, were scarce and so few...but they knew
that happiness could be the sun on your back, or a sky, wide and blue...
Not much to expect, and not even respect...
would be theirs to be owned.

As the twilight would come, under a red setting sun,
with the fragrance of loam, and the tired walk done...
they would bed under trees where the heather was strewn
they would burn a small fire, and prepare a warm meal,
with smoke in the breeze, while the whippoorwill's song
and accordion tunes, would drift by the face of the moon

On their heels was the dust, in the noontime sun
They rose with the dawn, and the gold of the past,
wearing the colorful hope of tomorrow's new task
Working wherever a meal, and dollar would come
Then moving again with their band until dusk
over, and over and over again...

Some called them tramps, and some called them small thieves
But the heart of the matter, was the love of the sun,
the love of the life that came from the moon,
from the stars, and the grass, and the rust of the leaves

For those who encountered, and who gave them a chance
could learn many things by watching them dance,
and learn many things by hearing them sing,
and pay close attention to how much they knew
that fortune is something that comes from inside
It comes with the pride, of knowing what matters
The tattered, lost life of the old gypsy tribes ....
might be the saddest of stories, or loneliest song...
                    a song that has faded,
                                that has dwindled and died....

Canyons Cold and Dark

She dwells in deep canyons cold and dark
To ponder a mystery that haunts her soul
That leaves confusion and doubts in heart
The loss of confidence now takes its toll

To ponder a mystery that haunts her soul
That renders sleepless hours through the night
The loss of confidence now takes its toll
A flower slowly dying withers in sunlight

It renders sleepless hours through the night
The days are shortened and she wastes away
A flower slowly dying withers in sunlight
Her sweet fragrance lost, forever and a day

The days are shortened and she wastes away
What could be this wrong which she has caused?
Her sweet fragrance lost, forever and a day
To fully grasp this puzzle she requires pause

What could be this wrong which she has caused?
What pain has she laid upon your heart?
To fully grasp this puzzle she requires pause
She dwells in deep canyons cold and dark

Yesterday's Pain Still Fresh

Forever, our love lingers in the air all around -
The smell of fresh paint lingers in my nose, in the air.
Crisp sheets lay smooth untouched with hospital corners.
I dreamt I held you in our bed.
A king-sized bed is too big for one.
Wedding gifts are strewn across our dining room table.
I dreamt we ate there together as man and wife -
candlelit dinners and meals with laughing children.
Dreams that will never come true.
(I dread the nights, long hours alone pass slowly.)
A family room quietly sits alone without a family.
(I wrestle sleep in fear of dreams darker than my loss.)
A yard waits outside for a garden that will never be planted.
(I forget the day, the month, even the year
                                            you left without warning,)
Nothing is as it seems; only my flowing tears are real tonight.
(but oh, how in the darkness, I remember too well the moment,
down to the second of my silent screams -)
Forever love lingers in the air all around –
(twisted thoughts, face contorted)
A new home, a new marriage, but one of us is only here in spirit.
(in pain like no other pain I had ever felt
while holding what once was you.)
Only one returned from our honeymoon…
In light of day, I turn to stone.
I wish it was me who died that dark night.
(Then, night comes haunting me like a ghost)
The doctors said nothing could be done.
(too weighted with evil to rise.)
A silent death stole you from sleep and me
while I slept next to you.
(Behind closed lids, I am the torero impaled by satan’s horns)
Nothing could be done…a beginning and an end.
(searching for God in the final breath)
Forever love lingers in the air all around –
(Again, screams cannot escape from my choking lungs.)
Now our dream home is for sale. The dream is gone.
(My heart breaks like shattered glass)
I cannot bring myself to sleep in our bed
so I make up the couch tonight….again.
(the shards racing – tearing through my veins.)
My heart calls out for you; my arms reach out for you.
(Red eyed and weary I wait for a hollow sun to harden my heart again.)
Life changes in a moment.
(I would rather be numb than suffer through tortures of night.)
I taste your lips on mine.
I smell you, see you, hear your voice whispering my name.
Forever love lingers in the air all around. –
(I dread the nights, long hours alone pass slowly.)
Your touch lingers tonight...
with the smell of fresh paint.

In Sheol

Lover
Yes the love you evoke
The heart you wove
Spirit you broke

Shadow am I
Go to the Witch of Endor

In Sheol
my soul
yes my love
darkness unfolds

In Sheol
one weepeth dust
wind blows cold

Feeling is lost
struggle to breathe
seas are tossed

Was I dead my lover?
yes I believe so
the shroud my cover

You arose from death
shined love on me
I am resurrected
was blind now I see...

Broken Trust, Dying Of Love

Broken Trust, Dying Of Love

Baby, nobody came when I cried out for you
if I were a lawyer maybe I would just sue
if a doctor, would heal my sad heart too
Nobody came baby, when my hot tears fell
the 'ole world has completely gone to hell
they say the sun is shining but I can not tell

Baby, nobody came, what the hell do I do
Oh my sweet darlin', what shall I ever do
Crying in my cereal, tears falling in my tea
baby, this damn hurtin', is all over me

I miss your lovin', that was so damn good
I'd crawl back to you, if only I ever could
prayin' you will come back, if only you would
Watched you leave, be damned if I know why
this damn hurtin' makes my soul want to die
tears are fallin' like raindrops from the sky

Taking my medicine, out back on the patio
drinking my whiskey, with Petty on the radio
my livin' without you, so damn sad you know
saddest sight I ever saw, was watching you go

I remember your touch, each and every kiss
Baby, thats the pain in what I so dearly miss

Darlin', I forgive you every lie you ever told
if only you'd return here for me just to hold
we can forgive each other, never again scold
Hurtin' all over me, has me in such despair
got me starving to death, whiting in my hair
return to my love and end this eternal scare

Baby, you broke my heart, shattered my mind
got me drinkin' whiskey, the strongest kind
Darlin', you got me crying all the damn time
writing all of this pain out in sad poetic rhyme

Still nobody comes, as I scream out your name
come on back, on me place all the damn blame
Without your sweet love, nothing is the same
baby move back in, my wild ways you did so tame

O' Baby, baby, I simply have to tell you this
Every damn good thing about you is what I miss!

Robert J. Lindley---

Note:
Written so damn long ago. I remember all the damn hurtin', why
she left I still don't know. Next three years I lived inflicting pain,
back into me --it left a miserable stain.
Life giveth and life taketh away, yet why I was broken I know not
even to do this day!
Looking back, I see a wild man that needed his ass straightened out!
Now that I'm so blessed, I know it was a gift, of that I have no doubt..

She Craved

She Craved For the beast. Amidst his lair In candle surround, Ripped white linen clings As their sweated bodies writhe. In unification, his seed Shall spawn the beginning of the dark. Whilst his translucent shadows walk earths light. .

No dark shadows block what dreams may come...

.

                                               lying on my bed
I hold on to my pillow

                                           what dreams may come
                                                    You are
                                              all I ever wanted
                                          You take away my blue.
When I feel alone and sad
                                        I dream away,Feeling myself
                                            Sleeping close to you
                                           You caress my cheeks
                                                You kiss my lips
                                       You whisper,"Love you true"
                                              You brush my tears
                                              My doubts and fears
                                                      You are
                                          My Star,My Sun,My moon
                                                shining up my sky
                                           No dark shadows block
                                          what dreams may come
                                                     You are

''For All Eternity''

The rain the rain is falling down, in sleep His tomb is wet, so dark the stone, so cold And words are deep engraved, I weep and weep In stone the man I love, his death foretold I will love him for all time blissfully He calls in death he calls, his voice ice-cold This heart is yours for all eternity In the dark I hear his murmurs, he calls His tomb is wet, so dark the stone, so cold He lays beneath the soil and the sun falls He haunts my days and nights, my hand he holds My dark angel that will never get old A voice, a whisper, calling to me darkly In dreams he beckons from beyond so bold This heart is yours for all eternity I open the old gate, the rain drizzles His tomb is wet, so dark, the stone so cold The wind takes my long hair, the trees tremble I fear my love who will never get old I feel his wings fall over me ice-cold Kissing his dead lips so sweet and deeply His breath freezing, I weep for love untold This heart is yours for all eternity My tomb is wet, so dark the stone, so cold Do not weep for I am here endlessly I will never release you from my hold This heart is yours for all eternity _____________________________ April 8, 2015 Ballade Theme - Dark Love Tweek - Two Refrains, B refrain on line 2 of each stanza and line one of Envoi along with required C refrain on line 8 of each stanza and last line of refrain For the contest, Not Your Average Ballade, sponsor Catie Lindsay Tenth Place

THE MIST OF WAR

I got your sweet perfumed letter
So good to hear you're missing me
Trace your words with my finger
Your note is such Heaven to me

Bombs bursting in the background
There's ash on all the leaves of trees
So many cry out in desperation
The mist of war is such Hell to me

Your lip print on my war letter
Girl, you know it's still a perfect fit
When I read you're home waiting
I find the courage to never quit

I see you've been busy with ribbons
One on Oak for everyday I've been gone
And my heart melts a thousand times
When I read your romantic song

Now it says right here, "to get home"
I guess you're giving orders now
Oh, we could use you in this Army
When my buddies saw ya they'd say "WOW!"

Your letter ends with smudged lines
Misty tears must have rained down
But I know every thought your thinking
Even from this miserable battleground

Girl, I'm going to follow your orders
I'll fight and return safely home
Until then how about another war letter
When they are in my pockets..
I'm never alone

Your perfumed letters are in my pockets
Here with me, I'm never alone
In the mist of war.. I'm never alone!

*The poem is the husband-warrior's thoughts as he reads and experiences the
letter in the mist of war. "Oak" is what they call their big oak
tree in the front yard.

The kiss worth dying for

Light looks at darkness, in his ear she whispers,
'we are not meant to be together, we're different'
walking away, she sheds a bright tear,
he tries holding it but it trickles down his skin,
forgets that darkness cannot hold light within,
she smiles from a distance and obliquely speaks,
words, lost, but the pain he reeks,
he looks at the tear that she had shed,
the hole it had made in his palm had now fled,
he looks above, she shines at a distance,
though he cannot hold her, he can feel her existence,
this thought enlightens the dark,
he runs towards her, footsteps darker than chark

Darkness looks at light, in her ear he whispers,
'we are meant to be together, we're different'
coming closer, he sheds a dark tear,
she holds it, it glows bright and vanishes,
remembers that light can only exist,
when there is darkness, a bit, to resist,
he smiles from near and firmly speaks,
'i know that if you touch me, then i will die
but dying in your arms would be the sweetest goodbye'
the tear that had vanished, never returns,
she looks at him, his love she learns,
they kiss and thus they recombine
he vanishes into oblivion, the sweetest way of dying.

Tell Me Things

You tell me there are things that you can’t say
Without bruising your tongue, some things
That you repeat in your head like videos of blurred suicides.
Each face the bullet goes through resembles your own.
You tell me there are things that you can’t say
Without a bible in your hand, some things
That you’ve forgotten.
Missing pieces of a puzzle that are found.
You tell me there are things that you can’t say
		Without touching yourself, some things
That you catch yourself talking in the middle of the night.
Each spilled secret staining your bed sheet.
You tell me there are things that you can’t say
		Without you crying, some things
That are better lost than found

So
You throw away the missing pieces
		Of a puzzle.
You throw away
		The bible.
You throw away
		The sex toys.
You throw away
		Love.

You say things that make you unhappy, like things
Better seen in the dark, or maybe things
That you wished you didn’t know.

So
You collect the missing pieces
		Of another puzzle.
You collect
		Broken promises.
You collect
		Four-leaf clovers
With the fourth leaf plucked out

You tell me things that I’ve heard before
From your own mouth, some things
That I wish you’ve forgotten.

You say you can’t tell me what I already know
	So you don’t say anything
When we open up the cadavers of drowned infants.
There are a hundred babies down in the lake
And you don’t even say a single word to me.
One of them is your own.
So you open me up instead
And tell me the lake is yours.

Vainly I Stand

Vainly I stand before you
Waiting for an utterance
Any word of understanding
But these are days of famine

The honeysuckle flow of verse,
And kindness has abandoned
No words can repair this ruin
Too late, too late, to wait

My memory of you will fade
Yours of me will never be
And thus is another chapter
Of broken dreams and lost love

Hold your breath

If your breathing - better learn to hold your breath,
the waters deep and we're going for a swim,
the deep dark cold, it always creeps on back in,
to watch me, to smother me, why does it love me,

its love is suffocating, doesnt it see its a death trap,
the cave is dark and shallow and ready to fall in,
the deep dark cold, ready to trap me in its depth,
If your breathing - better learn to hold your breath

If it enters me, and you cut me, stab me in the heart,
ill bleed black, and my blood will just pour out,
the oceans deep, and we're going for a swim,
the world cant see that we're going in,
if your breathing baby - better learn to hold your breath...

Golden Skies

With love I look at you
And see your eyes transform
To gaze into depths
Which carry a secret storm
A ring as dark as night
Around a golden sky
With speckles of dark stars
That bring my lips a sigh
They hold the world's wonders
A box of sins and hurt
A glimmer of light
That glows just like hope
With love you look at me
And I see into your eyes
Your soul bare and naked
From me you do not hide
Their gentle with a sadness
They shine as you laugh
They hold both parts equal
Experience of life and death
You stay hidden to the world
But you open up to me
And in your eyes my Darling
I see everything there is to see
With soft lashes they appear
Angelic in their own way
I watch as they close
And your anger drifts away
Unclothed I see your soul
In the doorway of your eyes
I could stare into them forever
Lost without a sense of time
