I'm a 9 Revised

                                    Zira
                         You bring me peace
With your head on my lap
I gently stroke your wavy hair
Lovingly I bend to kiss your forehead
Thanking God for giving me you
                    You have become my calm
                            My loyal friend
                                    Zira

While You Sleep

While you sleep I tell you all of the things I keep inside throughout day.
Now that you can hear but not listen I find them much easier to say.
My hopes, my dreams, my fears, and everything in between
Your subconscious hears so keen, or so it seems.
My tongue is soft; I speak so sweetly
Knowing your reaction will never greet me.

Tonight will be different in what I want you to know.
It has everything to do with what I can’t help but show.
I hold no claim to any religion but you’ve given me a place for my faith.
Somewhere it will never stale or lose its lavish taste.
You’ve shown me something I can see, touch, and feel,
And so before it I choose to kneel.

I know I don’t say it but I miss you every day.
Sitting, thinking of the perfect words to be my choice,
Yet when you call I can’t find any of the right words to say.
I’m just happy to finally hear your voice.
Even just a moment is enough to sooth my heavy heart;
Fearing the ends of conversations knowing we’ll have to part.

I’ll never be too far from you, always within arm’s reach,
And in your days of darkness I’ll be the light that you will seek.
I’ll never let you leave too far from me, I’ll stay close behind you in this world;
Secretly protecting what is mine, you will always be my girl.
I only want the best for you so the best of me I will employ.
Faithfully yours, I will always be your boy.

I close my eyes and kiss your soft sweet lips
And see the very best of you in loving bliss.
I see past the physical which makes you attractive
And focus on the things I can’t see in which I’m attracted.
Your thoughts I’d love to hear them all.
Of the things you speak disinterest never makes its call.

My day will come, I know someday I’ll be the only one.
And you I will pursue viciously,
Because I’ve given you the greatest gift I can give, to love unconditionally.
Yes our day will come, I know someday we’ll be as one.
And you I will pursue viciously,
Because I’ve given you the greatest gift I can give… to love unconditionally.

Moments In Time

The sweetest sounds of burning trees
A gentle stroking in the breeze
The calm has lasted past the storm
Cloudy visions, Satan’s roar
Too many sights have passed my way
A time found only in the haze
The softest screams are running bare
My aching bones creak as I stare

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark

The battle’s started at the end
No one is coming to repent
The sinners grab their wine from prey
No judgment calling here to stay
The sport is reckless to be told
The one is laughing at his souls
It falters nowhere to be sure
The power grows forevermore
Like a spirit in the wind
I have no say in where you’ve been
But cross the line to come to me
And pay the price for ecstasy

You walk a distance towards me
The fall’s eternal, can’t you see?
I’m a memory in your heart
I whisper to you in the dark.

A Love Song To A Beloved

‘‘A friend once in his youthful flight
Had found a beauty delight
Though distance stretched them in mileage
But their love was destined to find a page’’

A lark that sings in the morning bright
Ke-ke-li, O Kekeli! My beautiful light
The hanging garden upon my sight
Hands of fate has woven a happy home
A love of current, stronger than the Law of Ohm
Invigorating, a love connected at heart
Which God designed never to part

Where there is love, they say there is a way
Our love I believe is here to stay
Kekeli, my beloved, sing me a serenade
A song of an angel’s grade
That in heaven’s clime pervade
Sing it across space and time
And make it last like a rhyme

My beloved Kekeli! You’re my light
You’re my Hephzibah, my only delight
Thou art fairer than Friedan Betty
Thou art matchless in beauty
So calm and inviting like the blue sea
Beauty not to be told but for eyes to see

Behold my mistress of fair skin
Eyes of diamonds, pure and pristine
O Tell me, you whom I was made to love
One, unique in your choicest apparel
Lips of zebra stipes set with a berry
The hanging petals of a blossom cherry
Chief among all my thousands buddies
O Kekeli! The only ruby my finger shall find
And wouldn’t be ashamed to be called uxorious

"For as a young man marries a virgin
so shall your sons marry you, and as
the bridegroom rejoices over the bride,
so shall your God rejoice over you". Isa 62:5

A RAINY DAY

By ears and whiskers, ain't no more
A sadder thing that being in the dog house,
On a rainy day.
Make no bones about it, when momma's
Mad I'm hanging my head low.
Jo dirt has nothing on how bad this hound feels,
But honestly instincts roller, over road wisdom's,
Howling, but I'd mean it dearest sweet mommy.
With woofs and kisses can I make it all better,
It's lonely on this side of the doorway.
With you out there and me in here.
Kibbles my bits I'd give up my
 Monthly allotment,
Of bacon bits for a true heart felt,
That a good boy one more time.
If I could I'd bring you a beer,
Just to see that frown disappear.
Perking these two ears up to here,
Your laughter ring out at bed time.
Or a soft whispers friendly voice, speaking
Good night dear old friend.
All four paws down I won't do it again,
Cross this canine's fury little heart.
But the rain keeps falling,
As outside the sunshine is calling,
Our names to be together,
There's no tears like these rainy days.
So I'll sit patiently,
For the sun to rise again in your heart,
When ever that maybe,
Because simply put I'm loyalties pup,
Just waiting for you to bring me
On the right side of
The door once more.
To sit beside thee again.
A companion and dearest friend,
Always letting the sun to shine down
On us forever more.

Pal

Bob had been a lonely man ever since
His wife of fifty years had passed.
“Lord, let me join her.” he would pray.
“Let this day be my last.”

Each day, he went to the cemetery,
Just a short walk down the street.
After their talk, he would water her flowers
And hear passers-by whisper, “How sweet.”

One gray and misty morning,
He had hoped for sunnier skies
To plant fall bloomers at her graveside;
But, there, to his surprise…

Stood an old dog beside her stone;
Thin and dirty, but he struck a handsome pose.
He whined as Bob approached, as if to say,
“I could use a friend, you know.”

He sat calmly as Bob planted flowers,
Carefully sniffing each one Bob put in place.
Then, after the last one was planted,
He sniffed it; then turned and licked Bob’s face.

Bob smiled. “I had a dog when I was young…
Pal…he was a mighty good one too.
So, if you don’t mind old fella,
That’s what I’ll call you.”

Pal may have been an old dog,
But he was smart and handsome in his way;
So they made a deal, Bob would give him a meal
And a bath, if he decided to stay.

Pal loved his bath, then rolled in the grass.
He slept on a blanket in the den.
In the night, he dragged it next to Bob’s bed.
He intended to be Bob’s best friend.

Pal was such a good dog, housebroken too;
Never made a mess or got in trouble.
He knew about newspapers, slippers and Frisbees;
And when Bob called, he ‘d come on the double.

Yes, Pal gave Bob’s life new purpose.
A special bond of friendship was cast.
And never again did Bob pray,
“Lord, let this day be my last.”

For twelve years, the very best of friends,
Together night and day;
And so it was, until one night,
Bob quietly passed away.

The next morning, an old woman,
Tears welling in her sad and lonely eyes,
Brought flowers to her husband’s grave;
But there, to her surprise….

Stood an old dog beside the grave,
Thin an dirty, but he struck a handsome pose.
He whined as she approached, as if to say,
“I could use a friend, you know.”

He sat calmly as she took old flowers
And put fresh ones in their place.
He carefully sniffed the fresh ones,
Then turned and licked her face.

She smiled. “I had a dog when I was young….
a good one too. His name was Pal.”

Fair Maybelle

Fair Maybelle trode through the morning dew
She peered through the foggy haze
Her blue eyes saw what I tell you is true
For the fog did part and the sun did blaze
And a pure white unicorn met her gaze

Now it may well seem it would run away
Or perhaps she would rather shy
But against her nature she hastened to stay
And an unseen cord drew her nigh
Till Maybelle's feet she laid her by

So sweetly Maybelle stroked her hair
She longed for her touch once more
But Maybelle ceased, and she left her there
For what a *wight could see, that her heart was sore
Till she meet her love on the Highdown *Tor

So Maybelle walked o'er the far and near
And her one-horned friend followed light as a bird
And they travelled on without a sight of fear
With but one care and nary a word
That winsome twosome persevered

At the long last, Maybelle heard a pleasant sound
The sound of a rollicking song
And the butterflies danced in the air all around
Whilst her love held her dearly and long
If it could, could it be that she was the theme of his song?

So the three of them lived in the fairyland *wold
Where the sun slips off to the moonlight's glow
Where the wind blows warm and the streams flow cold
And the daffodils thrive in winter's snow
Now here is the end, as you surely know

* Wight: A person
* Tor: A high pointed hill
* Wold: A wood or forest

Kids Love For Animals

Kids Love For Animals ( Poem )

Children’s favorite shows are of animals
I have hours in a playlist that are laughable
Like a camera pecking rooster and fun monkeys
To a mom and a baby miniature donkeys

Videos of wild turkeys and charming geese
Ducks in water and chicks learning to speak
Dazzling ostrich and many free birds
Some you would not want to move towards

A large unique animal is the alligator
The total opposite of the caterpillar
Camels and alpacas are tall and exquisite
But they spit at you when you try to visit

There are also hornpout and catfish videos
and a painted box turtle that is really slow
Beautiful miniature horses and elegant ponies
Border collies herding sheep to earn their trophies

Little kids pig scramble is stunning to see
and a little fawn as precious as can be
Cow’s hair that needs braiding is fascinating
With the most assortment you’ve ever seen

Come to my view with me youtube channel
If the kids are being hard to handle
Just start it up and walk away
To get your housework done for the day

Dear cat,when old

Lurching yet graceful ,the old black cat sets off.
Slowly he circles the edges of the garden in joy.
In the car ,though still in a shut basket,
He always knew when we came to the turning of the road.
Was it the cherry trees in blossom,a scent
Or something we could never be aware of?
I would open his basket in the car.
He comes out and descends so carefully
Onto the pavement, then tries to bound up the path,
The long wooded back garden is his total joy.
He would sit watching tiny frogs in a deep pond in the sun.
No doubt he longed to catch one.
He once brought a robin indoors,
The bird was completely unharmed.
Must have been his gift to me
We released it later after its shock had worn off.
Now he can only hobble,
And soon, his thinness warns me, he'll be gone.
No cat has ever loved or will love like this cat,
A rescued, terrified animal.
His eyes say everything to me.
I look into their clear-jewelled greenness
I look into a deep, still glowing sea of light.
The last day, finally, all day,he's on my knee.
I say"goodbye,goodbye,Pussy".
And he's gone,just before tea.
Now the garden seems empty.
Love leaves a gap.
Love leaves us bare
Love leaves us stripped.
Yet Love is eternal grace.
A mystery of faith.
I believe.
Believe.
Be.

False Love

I thought that you…
Would be the one that would be different
But I’ve come to see…
That you’re no different from the rest
I see that once again I made the same mistake
And I will continue until I finally see the truth!

Why must you take my heart
And use it, abuse it, to your liking?
Must you grind it up into tiny pieces?
However, I’m tired of being your
Toy used merely for your pleasure
Because I now see right through you
So leave me be darling

As you may know…
I will not shed a single tear for you
Just go away…
For all you do now is plague my mind
I should’ve known that you didn’t ever love me
Instead, you just merely led me along

My love for you still remains
But what is the use if all you do
Is just use it like an object?
If you never loved me in the first place
Then you shouldn’t have pulled me by a leash
For I’m not an animal that you can control!

Why must you lie?
Why did you lie?
Why lie to me and say you love me?

I have to know
I must know
I got to know why I…
Was tricked again!

The darkness is peoples’ hearts…
Seem to get even darker…
Is there no way to change it…?
Tell me why, I have to know…

Why must you take my heart
And use it, abuse it, to your liking?
Must you grind it up into tiny pieces?
However, I’m tired of being your
Toy used merely for your pleasure
Because I now see right through you
So leave me be darling

My love for you still remains
But what is the use if all you do
Is just use it like an object?
If you never loved me in the first place
Then you shouldn’t have pulled me by a leash
For I’m not an animal that you can control!

Why must you lie?
Why did you lie?
Why lie to me and say you love me?

I now know
I now know
I now know that you…
Never really loved me!

Danger love

subtle it starts, those thoughts of you
so cunning and quick, little I can do
with each pounce unexpected
claws dug in my mind
Love has me infected
no cure to find . . . .

loudly it roars! with every heartbeat
I sense the excitement
a moments defeat
my soul so enlightened
and still my knees weak.

Unable to run, no sense in escape
hooked by those eyes
im caught in a state
immobilised
by the antics of fate.

So here I stand, to you to surrender
you've won the heart
of a vagabond roaming
upon you to ponder,
however still knowing
your truelly a wonder
my smile fondly showing.

companions, companions, together to be
for that is the wish of the lover in me,
you're beauty is your nature
you're nature is free
tamed not by no master
amazing to see.
lets travel together, in search of a place
where we rest assured, our love shows its face.

Purrfection

Oh fantastic furry feline
So silent and still in slumber
White whiskers awaiting to wake
From dreams of docile dormice.

Mysterious and mesmerising moggy
Boundless beauty befalls you
Perfect plush paws and cutting claws
Bright beautiful eyes bestowed.

Oh valiant velvet cloaked vagabond
A spirit so wild and wilful
My love lies languishing in your heart
Come closer to comfort my soul.

a romantic legend

The Romantic Legend

The lord of the manor near the coast of Algarve,
Behind the manor a forested valley where
Packs of frightful wolves roamed.

A day when his youngest daughter who was a bit
Odd-as she took no interest in suitors- went to
The glade to pick flowers, she met a he wolf.

Not afraid she petted the good animal and his
Eyes she discovered love that asked for nothing
And had nothing to give but love itself.

The daughter when doing needle work had stung
Herself and there was a drop of blood on her
Index finger, which the wolf lovingly licked away.

A miracle happen the girl turned into a sleek,
Wonderful she wolf with silky black and tan fur.
Their union was complete and love rewarded.

The pair found a cave in the deepest forest
Where they lived happily for many years until
The he wolf was killed by a bigger animal.

The spell was broken and she was now an old
woman, alone and scared, where love´s light
had shone there was fearful darkness.

There was a knock on the manor´s oak door,
An elderly woman claimed she was the daughter
Of the house but, she was not believed.

It was a rainy night and when the door opened
Next morning the servants found a young girl
With glade flowers in her folded dead hands.

What sorrow, what grief, but she wore a smile
“Vale de lobo” the forest doesn´t exist anymore
And a paradise of love is lost to a legend.

PS “Lobo” wolf.

Strange Love

Why do I love you?
When I look into your face
Your teeth are too big,
That nose is extremely long.
Yet all I want in a dog.

An ode to cotton

My little white fluff ball
I think all the kittens will grow
Soft and sweet
up to be healthy and strong the
Small and calm
way they should be when they
She is as sweet as candy
should be. I think they will love.
She plays all day and sleeps all night.

Anyone who will love them.
They are small but strong.
I know they will have	great lives ahead of them
She loves to have fun
Her small blue eyes glowing, tiger with his new owner
Ash and Cotton with us.
I love cotton just as much as the others.
She love her siblings
She is small and loud

I love her lots
She weaves between the gates
And runs after her brothers tail
I wish she was more quick.
I still love her with all my heart
Like I love ask and tiger her brothers
They are all sweet and they are like little rabbits.
I hope they grow up to be big and strong
My little angles they may seem now but
What about when they are older?

From the Shepherd to His Flock: a Parody of Lord Byron's ''She walks in beauty''

THEY graze in beauty on the land
of grassy glades and dewy dales,
and all that's best of dark and tanned
     meets in their aspect and their tails;
thus mellowed to that tender hand
which Shepherd to gentle glen compels.

One fleece the more, one hair the less,
had half repaired the shearless grace
which wreathes in every woolen tress
or darkly tightens o'er their face,
where mouths serenely sweet express
how pure, how dear their grazing-place.

And on that rump and o'er that round
so strong, so firm, yet elegant,
the baas that win, the hooves that bound,
but tell of days in meadows spent—
a flock at peace with all around,
a drove whose milk is innocent.

My Buddy

I miss you already, Buddy.
You’ve been the apple of my eye.
When I think of life without you,
It makes me cry. It makes me cry.

Oh, so many moments we've shared together,
From romping mischief and tummy rubs to those pesky fleas;
And nothing’s better than my puppy’s kiss;
You always try your very best to please.

You always curl up with me on the bed.
You always meet me at the door.
You run and jump and bark with such excitement.
Yes, Buddy, I know you couldn’t love me more.

And when all others fail me, Buddy,
My best friend is always there.
Through my very worst of times,
Your eyes and your attention said, “I care”.

Five to seven years for every one of mine
Is so little time... it’s hardly fair.
It must be God’s way of saying,
“Love them now… and well.
There’s precious little time to spare”.

But, if I should go before you, Buddy,
Love your new master without reserve;
And they will love you as you love them.
It’s what a great pup like you deserves.

I miss you already, Buddy.
You’ve been the apple of my eye.

The Righteousness Of Love

Love is a wonder shared by one another it's the only reason I'm not six feet under Love in which I believe in a will to sustain I give back to life, now in dormant states of pain The power of Love may not alone be enough locked inside my dreams escape only from above higher than any human being has ever gone before I must have evolved rise above hate, great once more My Father taught me wisdom I am imprisoned no longer now an beast not of burden I am no lion, I am stronger on my shoulder sits twin dragons long awaiting the day evil forces come forth to take what Love is left, away A Hero of Love light are what the world needs angels, not demons exist where ever you believe follow your heart's direction and you shall achieve objects of affection rid of materialistic greed My bright energy has awakened to a fire never consuming the source as the flames just grow higher that is the desire of a product we call Love Fear, the counterpart what I was once made of I am slowly learning how to win when my peace is harder to sharpen so I have given my pen leave the sword has its uses I must say I believe to vanquish the evil in the minds too diseased to serve any purpose except their own selfish ones tomorrow a new day in the clarity of the sun where we two are now one and one done now does bring about a great change lit by the righteousness of Love.

Butterfly

I once was like a catipiller young, naive, and new
Always living from my heart not knowing what
else to do.Easy to take advantage of, that is
just the case, people would walk over me
like I was their dirty used up suitcase.
Now I feel a newness coming, like a light
shining from the sky, colors fill my world
and I know I am blooming into a butterfly.
Purple,Pink, Blue and Green I can feel them
flowing through. Colors of the rainbow raising
me into full bloom. Wise and strong I am becoming
My faith leads me where I need to go giving me
insight and wiseness for only me to know.
I have not done this on my own you see
I have been guided by God and Angels
on this Earth. Wise words the wisdom at
it's best comes from a wise lady who
seems to know me best. Lucky, I am
to have her in my life, she always shoots
it straight and tells me like it is, knowing
her words touch my heart and gives me tons of faith..
I feel like flying through the sky or climbing
a tree way up high. I feel like observing the
world just like a brand new butterfly so as I
Bloom I become Anew something unlike the past
Smart and wise beautiful on the inside and outside
a touch of color here a touch of color there
makes me glow and become a beautiful blooming butterfly...

In the Meadow

Cows bellow, low, heads between rails
such large deep sad eyes, such full bags.
For whom do they await, no one home
to let them out, share out their milk.

Not long ago I saw you wandering off with him
his hand caressing your neck, gripping your arm
holding you stiff, obedient to his will
and you were bound to follow, no sound

escaped your lips, and me, why am I watching
for the scene to play out? Don’t we all know
don’t we all grieve, for the coming of that day
when cowl slips down, the bellow, low aches.

You won’t come home, will you my dear.
I guess I paid the right price for a job well done
Your cheating heart won’t bestir us to wait
Never more. This farm is sold outright.

Elegy for a Duchess

Who would believe your slim elegant body would win my affection,
when you gracelessly step on toes? Your soft doe skin of cream

spotted brown, floppy ears I threaten to turn into gloves as a joke.
Through many chain jangle calls for walks where you race and lunge

and bark fighting for the right to be with me, how could I turn you away?
When you almost die I am ready to give you away to death, hating the sick

green puke, you become skinnier despite the surgery until finally
one simple shot brings you back to us alive, slurping our hands and faces.

Busy days of science and humanities and government tucked up in a chair,
I forgot you, but you begged let me even eat your apple. let me sit in your lap

but you’re so big now you don’t fit and don't like apple. Chocolate chips cookies, though, a whole batch scarfed from the table and then you wiggle and wag tail,

snarl, your teeth clenched when I offer just one more. We all know who is guilty,
not you, your innocence, your steadfast defense, says it is our family who has forgot.

Finally, it is too late. You hurt too bad, spine enflamed, barely able to walk
or eat. Tomorrow your last day. I pick up the chain, you race happy to join me

down the row of maples losing their last autumn leaves, where my brother and I lead you plodding like an old man, stopping to breathe, and I see stars in my eyes,

saying goodbye. Goodbye to the lady of our family, the Dalmatian Duchess
who loved us best, walked beside us through our childhood days like a guardian.

Unknown

Who am I?
Am I defined by what is near in sight?
Am I defined by what I have done,
Or am I defined by what I could become?

Perhaps I'm of no use.
To him, or her, or I, nor you.
Or perhaps I'm too misunderstood to be defined,
And it is something like understanding that comes in time.

And if to the world I'm never shown,
Yet in my own light I've grown and grown,
And so I can know no happiness but my own--
The reason for my smile, to you, will forever be unknown.

I do not pray for the world to know my name.
For it and verse; the letters are the same.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads,
I pray his pain my words to keep.

Should his eyes rain on my page,
Better tears than storms of rage.
And if a man should find his sorrow in what he reads.
I pray his pain my words to keep.

And if to the world you're never shown,
Yet in your own light you've grown and grown,
And so you know no happiness but your own.
Let the reason for your smile, to you, only be known.

Blackbird

Drape over lonely hours, gloom of night The silence that succumbs me takes its toll I am left with stardust shed from starlight Words behind me, left as ink upon my scroll You're still inside my heart, marksman of my soul Stillest ocean wrath, black by moon's allure The blackbird dips to brush the water's drone Her wings spread wide and mind set free and pure No two-legged demons here to throw a stone She flies into the seaside night alone

domestic animals

 Domestic Animals

Cows in the barn was glad to see me at six in the morning
They mooed and waited for me to milk them.

Six cows to milk, yes I know it was a small farm and also
So very long time ago, yet clear as yesterday.

There was in the barn also a pig sty, a stable for the horse
Calves in a pen and they all wanted my attention.

Domestic animals are easy to please, just feed them keep
Their winter quarters clean and speak softly.

Domestic animals are so totally I our power without us
They would not exist in the form they are today.

In a compound a flock of sheep make themselves heard
They are hardy and want to get out snow or not.

So they are our responsibility and we must respect and
Love them, even if, at the end, we eat them.

Train Journey

I sit here by the window
and watch quietly
as the train moves along
Outside
I see land -
wild beautiful land
still untouched by man
and it creates within me
a feeling that is wild and boundless

The beautiful trees
in many places
so closely clustered together
though of mixed species
seem to cry out
a message of love and unity
to all mankind
I see flowers -
plain simple flowers
there is a beauty in them -
the beauty of simplicity

There are children on the hillsides -
the country folk
people call them
My heart sings as I watch them
They know us not on the train
but yet they wave at us
and we wave back at them
because their action is filled
with some sentiment
that is pleasing to us

Shimmering little pools of water
pulsating with life
appear and then vanish
out of sight
but the picture of life
within them
remains with me

The cows and the horses
graze in the pastures
some sit
others browse slowly along
O how I envy their leisurely
pace of life!

Princess Angelina

Princess Angelina

Princess Tinsels baby daughter
Has grown up quite a bit
And my, oh, my, she’s beautiful
Oh, she has all of it
A heart of gold, a lovely form
And she’s so full of bliss
Her name is Angelina
So very sweet she is.

She has a way with animals
That seems at times like magic
She loves all people, all of them
And when their days are tragic
She’ll give them the milk of kindness
She has the healing touch
And even gnomes and bitter demons
They all love her so much.

Angelina, she is loved
By all who hear her name
Folk they come from miles around
To see this girl of fame
One day she will be their queen
And it is plain to see
That when she takes that station on
A wondrous Queen she’ll be.

Work

Work.
Toil.
The pain I put in the ground.
For such a precious thing.
Corn.
The family enjoys their meal.
They plant their leftover kernels.
And wait for me to tend to them.
Work.
An endless cycle in which happiness is born.

My Puppy

My puppy sure loves to lick me
He thinks I’m a lollypop.
Every time I get home he attacks me
Then kisses me nonstop.

You’d think I was gone forever
When I just left the house for the mail,
He is right at the door when I get back
With a rapidly wiggling tail.

He wants to eat everything I do,
Mom says, that’s not good for a dog.
We want to keep him fit and healthy
So daily we go for a jog.

My toys are all tattered and ragged
My socks are his ultimate aim,
Doesn’t matter how much it upsets us
He thinks it’s all some kind of game.

I know he’s a bit of a stinker
That always wants to be fed.
But I sure am in love with my puppy,
Every night when we cuddle in bed.

Inevitable Bear

Oh lonely Inevitable Bear,
Padding claws, death in white
Sorrow in recurring nightmare
Instinct’s test; fight or flight?

Camouflage against the fence,
A challenge; my subconscious fear
Ominous slowly moving silence,
“Let me in, there’s a bear out here!”

The kings of the night

The seemingly tranquil sky
blooming with stars soon
pierced by a distant cry
that seems to swoon.

Beneath dense trees standing tall
to touch dark canvas painted
after dusk, prowls the epiphany of all
mother nature’s tainted.

The wise are often alone
and the dangerous hated,
but they express in moan
their solitude, once more grated.

Gradually their voices unite
in a song across the valley,
seeming to smite
all of innocence’s nest.

The moon in her splendour moves
to comfort the carnivores that commence,
and yet her beam soothes
not the beasts’ sense.

Torn between wrong and right
the moon spreads her swanlike wings amidst
the howls of her lovers, the kings of the night…
among the wolves in the mist.

A FEROCIOUS LION

Anyone who thought that I follishly picked a rabbit, a cat,
a sheep, a bird or frog as an animal for my impersonating:
must have the wrong assumption...it would be a big insult!

How would anyone see me becoming one of those?
Has anyone thought of me as a ferocious lion instead?
I would be the king of the jungle, but it could get worse!

I will be demanding obedience and loyalty from every small and big animal
that I have recorded in this book and as their leader I'll be just and pliant,
but wouldn't they envy me for my pretty lioness queen so gentle and beautiful?

Only lions have the ability to lead, solving the issues of justice, equality and fairness;
others may not seek the powerful ivory scepter I'll be holding in my claws,
and from this throne made of straw...they'll admire my sovereignty and mighteness!

Who's laughing in the noisy trees, where lots of monkees devour ripe bananas?
Who's shaking the brenches to make them fall and and land where I stand?
Don't they see the crown I'm wearing which intimitates the elephants and giraffes?

Nobody should be afraid of a docile lion that would turn ferocious...
if the jealous ones continued to ignore me and flashed looks of contention,
and although I am a self-appointed king, I can be kind, not atrocious!

Circle of Life - A Pet Story

It seems like just the other day
Our pup, Shadrack, did pass away;
And altho’ they never seemed like friends,
My old cat, Jorg, knew Shad had met
   his untimely end.

He mourned his loss every day
And looked for Shadrack everywhere.
He’d mew and moan as if to say,
“We were friends. I do care.”

Then one night, an eerie howl
Awoke me from my sleep.
He’d found Shad’s toys and left no doubt
That his feelings did run deep.

So our tedious search began
To find another likely pup;
But while my poor wife still grieved,
Could another measure up?

We went to Second Chance and Free to Live.
She just could not make up her mind.
She loved them all; but, if she picked just one,
The rest would have to stay behind.

Then, quite by chance, there was a “pound pup”
Who’d been picked up from the streets.
He was a mutt, a “schnauza-pug”;
But he was awfully sweet.

He jumped up and kissed her frantically.
He seemed aware of his “iffy” situation.
He made the best of his opportunity.
Tears of joy told her elation.

“This is the one”, she smiled through tears,
As she held him oh, so tight.
“I’m sure that Jorg will like him too.
Everything will be alright”.

And so it was, until one day
When old Jorg did pass away…

There was no hesitation on this sad occasion;
Come Saturday morning, we went straight
   to the pound,
Open minded and hoping to be “saviors”,
Surely a nice cat was to be found.

“Sadly”, the lady said,” three kitties have only today.
There’s Andre and Panda and another one too”.
My wife smiled and said, “Jorg was your boy. You pick.
They’re both beautiful cats. It’s up to you”.

As I pondered this commitment
Another cat, a young one, caught my eye.
Like Jorg, he was a common gray tabby.
Fond memories were stirred. I almost cried.

On closer look, his name was Boris;
And, strangely, he was number three.
There was a small sign on his crate,
“I don’t like other cats and other cats don’t like me”.

But there was character in his eyes and he was cute.
He was rolling and purring and stretching.
He seemed to look deep into my heart
And did his best to be quite fetching.

But because he was just a common gray tabby,
And because of the little sign,
His chances were slim, his future quite dim
And one day is precious little time.

For a moment I was lost in his eyes
And I heard his desperate plea,
“I’m a swell cat and litter box trained.
Take me. Please, take me”.

“Well”, my wife urged, “is it Andre or Panda”?
“One of us will take the other kitty.”, two older ladies chimed.
“You can each have one ladies”, I said with a smile.
I want Boris and he wants to be mine”.

In just hours he was romping and rolling with Pepper,
Who had happily welcomed his new friend.
Boris was a perfect fit, an affirmation;
The Circle of Life never ends.

Much more Joy than Sadness in this Circle,
And there should never be regrets.
Honor their memories and all the love they share,
Never break the Circle, never be without a Pet.

Two's Magic Nose

Such a nose had Ol’ Blue.
Best in south Missouri... everybody knew.
Could smell a pheasant across the plain.
Could point a covey in a hurricane.
That’s the way the legend goes.
Ol’ Blue had a “magic nose.”

As Blue got older, his master’s mind would drift away
To a place where he and young Blue used to play.
In the mornings, sitting over his coffee cup
He found it sad there were no pups.
He thought it would be such a shame
If the only memory was Ol’ Blue’s name.

So, Jim was compelled and full of pride;
He made a search, far and wide,
To find Ol’ Blue a suitable mate.
No doubt, his offspring would be great.
It seemed likely, he supposed,
At least one pup would have his “magic nose.”

She was a Champion Miss from New Orleans,
A beautiful “red” named Cajun Queen.
But Blue suddenly passed away, before the pups were born.
Jim was broken hearted. He and “Queenie” mourned.
Then came the litter, but there was only one.
Jim struggled for hope; after all, he was Ol’ Blue’s son.

Dappled and lanky, a handsome little cuss,
He looked just like Blue. Jim made such a fuss.
Naming this pup would require no ado.
It was obvious. Officially, he would be “Blue Two.”
Oh yes, these were mighty large tracks to fill.
“Can he?”, folks asked. Jim would say, “Heck yes he will!”

So his nickname became “Two” and he seemed to be smart.
Soon it was time for his training to start.
The basics went well, but Jim’s outlook grew very dim
When, instead of pointing, Two would wag and jump and bark at him.
Oh, Two seemed to be trying; but try as he might,
He just could not seem to ever get it right.

“Blue’s son or not, he’s got to go!”
Jim found Two a “pet home” far away, in Tupelo.
On his way back, he stopped in Texarkana.
Been too long a time since he’d seen his sister Hannah.
Six days and six pounds later, he was back on his way.
Work at the farm was callin’ and he’d be drivin’ all day.

He thought about Ol’ Blue and wondered if and when
He’d ever have a birddog as good as Blue again.
Oh, he knew another “magic nose” was just a far off dream;
After all, it wasn’t something any man could scheme.
A “magic nose” was a gift from God, only given to a few;
And he was proud and very lucky just to have known Ol’ Blue.

As he turned into his drive, he broke into a smile.
“Why… I can’t believe it! It…It must be 300 miles!”
Two was on the porch, thin and dirty; but he struck a handsome pose.
Jim ran and hugged Two hard. “How’d you get back? Lord only knows!”
Suddenly Jim realized; and struck with awe, he slowly rose.
A tear trickled to his smile. “Why Two… you have a “magic nose!”

Two and Jim are best of friends, together everywhere.
From milkin’ cows to bedtime, Two is always there.
Jim doesn’t hunt much anymore, now Two’s a rescue dog.
Just last month, he saved a little girl lost in Cooley’s Bog.
Jim struts and tells proud, heroic stories;
While Two wags and jumps and barks, and shares his glory.

Jim boasts, “Like father, like son!”, then speaks fondly of Blue;
But all know the largest tracks to fill are those of Two.
His deeds are known far and wide,
And fill Jim’s heart with love and pride.
For with every rescue, the legend grows;
About a dog named Two, and his “magic nose.”

Walter

He stood and aimlessly watched the parade of patrons and volunteers that wandered daily past his kennel. All so familiar, so ordinary. Just like every other day he mused. Nothing new. Nothing special.

Moving to the small crumpled blanket near the back of his cage, he turned several times and finally curled up, head on his paws, positioned so that he could watch the activity around him. But in reality, he was bored. It had been a long time since he had met each morning with anticipation. Too many days. Too much disappointment. He would leave all that barking and racing to the front of their cage to the younger pups who hadn’t figured out yet that the cute ones went first. It didn’t really make any difference what you did to attract attention if you weren’t young or cute, or both.

Too much time had gone by to participate in the charade. In reality, Walter had seen a lot of people that he would rather not spend a lot of time with. You know the type. Kind of hyper, bouncing from stray to stray, looking for a perfect dog. Kids poking their fingers through the kennel screen or banging on it. Some even making barking sounds. He didn’t need any of that and was glad when they were gone.

Walter was very picky. Set in his ways after so many years. He had had it good for a long time. An only dog in a household of two people that let him be himself. No tricks. No stunts. Just long naps and daily walks. A yard to himself to reflect on what was for dinner. He had been fond of his doggy bed in their bedroom. Each night he would help his owner walk through the house turning off the lights and checking the doors before they climbed the stairs together. And there was always one last good night pat before settling down.

But those days were gone now. First one had become ill and went to the hospital and never came back. The other one changed overnight, spending long days, sitting mostly. The walks became less frequent. Walter did what he could. He could see it in their eyes that they were hurting from their loss. He would make a point of laying his head in their lap, trying to let them know that he missed them too. At times like this, he instinctively knew that although it remained unsaid, they only had each other.

He remembers well the day that his owner snapped a leash on him and said, “well Walter, I’m afraid we have to say goodbye. I have to go to a place where they won’t let me keep you, so I am going to have to let you go.” Walter could see the tears in his eyes. He knew it would do him no good to whine or resist. It was obvious there were no alternatives. And besides, it would just make it harder on his owner. But he was going to miss him. It was not going to be easy to adjust.

But adjust he did. He had been here a long time now and had seen countless pups and dogs trot past his cage with light hearts and new owners, heading off with new found hopes and expectations. But it soon became obvious that there weren’t a lot of people that wanted an old yellow hound. Everyone wanted the young ones. So here he lay, dozing a bit, but still keeping an eye on those walking by, many giving him but a glance before moving on.

He heard them before the saw them. ”Honey” the voice said. ”That looks like Walter, old Mr. Whitney’s dog.” Walters ears perked up a little. ”Do I know them” he thought. ”They seem to know me”. I’d better go take a closer look” and with that, he stood and slowly ambled toward his kennel gate, giving a cautious wag of his tail.

“It is him” the man said. ”Walter, how you doing boy? Do you remember me?”

And upon closer inspection, Walter did remember him. He used to live right across the street. He would see him in his yard and if Walter were to ramble over, he usually had a dog treat in his pocket. With the recognition, Walter gave a little stronger wag and moved toward the fingers extended through the fencing. It was good to see an old friend.

“What do you say hon” the man said. ”How would you feel about bringing Walter home with us?”

Walter looked at the woman and saw her nod in agreement. ”You wait here and I’ll go find a volunteer.”

The man bent down and said “What do you think Walter? Would you like to go home with us?”

Actually, Walter decided, he could think of nothing he would like more. A chance to go back to the old neighborhood with people he already knew. What was there not to like.

Soon the woman returned and the gate opened. A leash was snapped on Walter and together they proceeded past the rows of dogs and puppies, all vying for their attention. Walter couldn't help but stand a little straighter, stepping a little more lightly, showing off. ”This is what going home looks like guys.” he thought. ”Good luck and goodbye”.

As they neared the car the man said “I can’t believe we found you Walter. There is someone I am going to take you to see. I can’t wait to see the expression on his face when you walk in his room>”

Walter, of course, knew exactly who he was talking about. And he couldn't wait to see the expression on his face either.

Wolves

No me. No you.
Us, perhaps.
My freedom. Your freedom.
A space to share.
My voice. Your touch.
Our shadows.
As wolves smelling the air, looking from afar.
Have you ever seen a wolf cry?

Post coitum omne animal triste est, sive gallus et mulier

Post coitum omne animal triste est,

             sive gallus et mulier*

Yes, no cockerel who rules the cackling roost

   Will stomach slander from Latin master;

But who will stand aside and let the ghost

Of hints slur old motherhood’s register.

Manhood must of needs hang its head in pain

   After all the sweat and toil in loins of love;

After millions of squiggly soldiers in vain

Drop their lean tails at the egg wall alcove.

Only the fool who dares call woman’s bluff

   Shall learn hard way positions in bedstead;

Virile pride will sink in the depths of fluff

While smooth gym-trained muscles rage instead.

As they say hereabouts sur le vieil Continent

La différence, Mon Sieur: lip’s shade content.

grief-stricken,
excepting the cock and the woman.”

Beware of the Bear

If you go down to the woods today, beware of the tall Teddy Bear; he’ll appear as a man, who’d love you to stay and talk of the things you could share. If you go down to the woods today, look out for the Bear, like a man; I’m sure he will want to explain the way, then show you how life began! If you go down to the woods today, you’re Bear, like a man, will be there. He’ll whisper sweet words, which men always say, of love. But beware - it’s a Bear! ~

Man's Bestest Friend

Golden Retrievers are the bestest friends They'll love you no matter what Even if you've just had the worst day ever These charmers your heart will touch Their wagging tails are a good indication You're their favourite supplier of love They're also aware you're a supplier of food There's no higher friendship above They're the bestest friend a man can have They trust you to the nth degree Treat them kindly, they're almost like people Except when they need to pee Then they cross their eyes and cross their legs And dance back and forth, to and fro But they never complain, just motor along Unless of course you react to slow Golden Retrievers are the bestest friends They'll love you no matter what They'll love you even if the sky's falling down The bestest damn friend you've got © Jack Ellison 2014

A Solitary Teardrop

She sat huddled up in fleecy blanket
shaking and trembling, mutters to her self
it has not yet sunk in, this painful loss
that sears her breaking heart with terrible grief

A solitary teardrop falling down

She thought of the fun and love they shared
the strolls they had enjoyed in leafy woods
the way he had snuggled up close to her
his warm breath brushing her ear as they slept

A solitary teardrop falling down

Over in the kitchen corner his bowls
along with a comfy bed seldom used
she needed to put them away out of sight
yet devastated she had little strength

A solitary teardrop falling down

She wished the tears would flow healing her
yet though they trembled within her eye lids
she could not seem to release them but they stung
just one escaped and rolled down her face

A solitary teardrop falling down

this was inspired by a poem called Once upon A Teardrop by Steven Davies from Wales

Mr Leopard

They call me Leo,
Leopard is my full name,
I live in the jungle,
With my family and kids,
and we get to have fun,
I Love the other animals but,
I cant deny the fact that,
 I love killing gazelles,
zebras and all animals that are edible,
It's the only way I can survive
 in this cruel environment.

I am a carnivore,
 a meat eater.
I sometimes wish I was a Herbivore,
a plant eater,
like gazelles or Zebras or cows,
I sometimes wish I was an omnivore too,
 like humans,
like Mr. Kamau,
I could be eating plants and animals,
and I would not kill every day of my life.

I love basking and taking a walk,
sometimes it gets boring here in the jungle
and all I can do is sit
on top of a tree and stare down.

How I sometimes wish I was the king
of the jungle Like Mr. Lion,
He is big and mighty and
the type of animal you wish you were.
He is proud but then again,
not as proud as the peacock family,
Peacocks are pretty with so many colours.

But all the same.
I thank God am not as ugly as Mr. Hyena .
(I hope he wont hear me)
who for the last 6 months
has been trying to strike up a friendship with me.
But no!!!!!
He may have spots like me but
he doesn't look one bit like me.
It would be a bit different
if we were talking about Mr. Tiger and Cheetah
who I cant deny are my close relatives.
We even look alike in some way don't you think?
Oh well, I can spend all my time hear talking about my life but I have some brothers who live in the land of snow.
The are so beautiful and we like calling them Snow Leopards.

The Odd Couple

There once lived a rat.
His name was Pat.
Pat was no ordinary rat for he was in love with a cat!
Now the cat name was Co.
Her fur was as white as snow and her eyes were like two pieces of gold.
Wherever she went Pat was sure to go.
But Co was unaware of Pat the rat until one day...

On this day it rained and rained and poured and poured and poured until the clouds dried out and could not put out anymore.
But in the storm Co fell into a river cold, wet and half drowned she moved just a quiver.
Pat gave a shiver from the water on his back and went to see if he could find his beloved cat.
He looked and looked but he could not find.
Where was she?
Without her he would surely lose his mind.
He'd better find her quick cause she was running out of time.
Just as he was about to give up hope he crossed over a slope and then saw the river.
What he saw next made his heart quiver.
Down by the river was the body of Co his beloved cat that his heart loved so.

"No!" No! she can't be dead!" he said running to her and gently raising her head.
She moved a bit and his heart did a flip.
"Oh joy she is alive, I must get her warm and dry!"
So a fire he made and fish he caught saving her life was his only thought.
She soon recovered and looked around fresh fish was all over the ground.

"Now who has done this for me?" she thought
Pat was watching her from behind a tree and now showed himself.
"It was I" he said looking quite shy
"A rat saved me!?" Co cried "But why?" "Rats hate cats"
"But not I, because I love you Co" Pat said tenderly
"You really love me?...." "Then I love you too"
And off they went on their honey moon.
The had 20 kids and moved to Purau.

So now you have heard the story and I swear it's true, about a rat who fell in love with a cat and that is that.

White Bunny

My 29th birthday
it was set up to be a miserable experience
without many friends or family
I was left to smile through the half-created festivities
Until...
my best friend showed up with a box
and sat it on my lap
and a bunny appeared.
A real life bunny rabbit
She was tiny and white and scared
and I picked her up gently
and whispered, "youre home".
Albino, my friend found her on a country road
2 months old, with no camoflague
And of course she thought of her best friend who cant deny an animal
and whose birthday just happened to be hours away.
That first day, my birthday, I held that bunny close.
She didnt fight, but now I know how much of a shocked baby she was.
I researched and read, watched countless videos.
I bought her a huge cage and started litter training her right away.
Its now 6 months later...
Ive worried over her more than any animal Ive ever loved
I took her to get her fixed and got really scared when I realized the vet knew less than I did.
She lived, and healed, and then she ate 6 buttons off the remote, 2 pieces of saltwater taffy, and 4 inches of hard plastic.
But she comes running for her treats and hops into my bed like a super-bunny
She kisses my hands and arms and knees and I know she loves me back.
The way she drinks up a bunch of water, then licks her lips for minutes and still drips water everywhere
The way when I call for her she looks so suspicious, wondering if its time for medicine or bathing or nail trimming.
Thats my bunny.
She makes giant messes, she eats like a horse, shes always looking nervous, shes always doing binkies or flopping her heavy body down
My pretty pure white bunny was 2 small pounds when I got her, and now she weighs 12, more than all my cats
And all of my cats are afraid of her, she tramples them when they are sleeping. She amuses me.

Unconditional Love

I have had many friends in this journey called life,
          But in time each has failed me deeply somehow;
And left me wondering, weeping and utterly broken,
Humans sadly have within the ability to hurt.

Amazingly my pets have always been there for me,
          No matter my mood they are full of deep love;
Animals have a soul for sure that shines like a bright star,
Even in death we hold them in our hearts.

Their love, loyalty and gratitude is a heavenly gift,
          If one is lucky enough to have a pet in their life;
They will surely know what unconditional love is all about,
Because the Lord above made them all.

Same Rhythm with Nature Frogs

There on the couch she snoozes and lay
Easing her back from a tiresome day,
Put on music to entice her imaginations
And there in the forest she found herself in deep hallucination...

Then he comes, with a picnic basket on his hand
Blanket, aged wine and a flower which is rare of its kind,
Laid the blanket on the ground and summon her to come
By his side, be with him as they watch the sunset this time.

Wine tasted their lips as they have the first sip
Adoringly look at each other with love so deep,
Their hands meet, as he bends for a kiss
Profound happiness is felt they don't wanna miss!

Yet blessings of rain comes dropping in
They run for shelter, giggling hand in hand,
Off they haste and find a shelter under a tree
Shiver in coldness, closer than close they ease in glee!

Frogs croak and dance at nearby pond
Singing merrily they seem have fun,
At the wetness and coldness the rain brings
Yet coldness draws them naughty as they do the deed!

Hmn…they look at each other and naughty smiles seen on their lips
She wink at the thought and he knows what it is
They have same thoughts, same lOve, and same lUst
Same wanting to fill their longing deeper than deep they hope to last.

So at same rhythm as the frogs keep on singing
They too felt same rhythm of their deep urges and wanting,
Letting their body melt at profound heat, oh, so amazing
As they kiss and move and touch with same rhythm!

But alas! One frog leaps on them, indiscreetly croaking
Hmn…better run then and continue the rhythm
There is a good place waiting
Where damn naughty frogs could not disturb their mating!

Inner Whispers

(Ha ha! Dedicated to my FROG PRINCE! (wink!) T'was fun making this.)

The mystery with no viel

Life is a creative
Explosion
A playful
Rebellion
A dance with
No reason
A non-sensical Mystery
Extending through and beyond logic.
Nothing holds it at both sides
Yet here it is. (There it is)

Someone Elses Life

I feel like I'm living someone elses life, a life in strife. I've been strong, but when will I belong. I feel so alone, but I'm doing ok on my own. I can't describe the pain, but I keep in mind every storm runs outa rain. I use to think our love was unbeatable, but really its unforgettable. Everyday I walk down memory lane, trying to ignore the pain. He crosses my mind everyday, when will all this go away. There's gotta be something more, my heart is becoming sore. My momma doesn't have to worry, because I'm not sorry. I know he made the mistake, and he's the reason I have this heartache. What we had, was bad. I shouldn't have let it go that far, your just another scar.

I Love My Dog

A true partnership, we share the need
to roam, and to relieve ourselves.

He pulls me forward, in his scented
search for residue, he is also yearning.

We drift through his neighborhood, he
exposes me to his dreams, I follow.

I begin to see things from his point of
view, we share underlying curiosities.

And then she appears, apprehensively we
skirt around, until she disappears.

We turn around, and return to our lesser
world, to revisit and reflect anew.

I know how it feels old boy, the pull of
the leash, putting her just out of reach.

Quietly we make our way, footsteps
toward the creaking door, I love my dog.

Beautiful Day

I look out of my window
And smile to see
Three little foxes
Looking back at me
And there upon
The tallest tree
A chorous of birds
Singing for me
I wonder if
They plan their day
As they swiftly fly away
To gather food
Along the way
In gardens of love
Where come what may
loving people provide each day
Food that keep their hunger at bay
As three little foxes
Jump and play
I think to myself
what a beautiful day

A Broken Heart

A most strange creature walked into the room
upright on two legs he stood oh so very tall
dressed in fine array booted and suited
a hat perched jauntily on his head

He cast around the room eyeing people up
as he strutted back and forth leaving in his wake
a deep silence of disbelief as the folks all stared
and started to draw back as they saw his tail

Not a person was this uninvited guest
no even though dressed as a man
he was a ferocious gorilla in love
seeking out his Jane he hunted around

Not finding her he stood confused
gaping at the people in their finery
come on now said his keeper catching up
and he lead him back to his cage

The gorilla sits there tear running down his face
lost without his Jane he sits in desolation
she had passed away only 5 months ago
now he hunts for her whenever he can

His keeper has tried to jolly him along
even introducing a young lady or two
met with indifferent then ignored
he only want his true love Jane

Of Lust and Dissipation

A Spenserian Sonnet
(Mr. Snake falls in love with a garden hose)

Today I slithered up a grassy hill,
wet from the creek and eager to explore.
The urge to snare a mate devoured my will,
could not this be the day for me to score?

I spot you there beside the garden door,
your slick green shape pervades my hungry sight.
Your golden head criss-cross my eyes before
your trim tight coil peals visions of delight.

Yet when I push my moves into the light
your body squirms and grows before my eyes,
and dread arises in a burst of fright.
You spit at me in angry spurts, surprise

me with a gush of clear and liquid spray,
while I make haste to scuttle fast away.

Silver Blue Birds

Silver blue birds flap their wings in moonlight The trees house them, a peaceful resting place Blue wings contrast with the needles in light You just find joy when you look at their face Subtle flying brings the greatest calm look The trees house them, a peaceful resting place They fly all about where the blue sky shook The clouds fluff on by while they fly onward Subtle flying brings the greatest calm look The birds dive and play within the backyard Catching bugs on the way, tasting each bite The clouds fluff on by while they fly onward They fly in groups, some small, looks like a kite Finding love with one another sky high Catching bugs on the way, tasting each bite There’s nothing in the sky that can sure deny Silver blue birds flap their wings in moonlight Finding love with one another sky high Blue wings contrast with the needles in light

Stupid In Love

Beneath a dark and grumpy cloud I stood naked in a field and sung aloud In broken chokey nouns and vowels About my love, My only pal I dripped with rain I needed a towel But these words I had to read And the time was now 'My sweetest love. My love divine' I shouted to the heavens 'I wish you were mine! Answer me god if I am right That this fair maiden should be my wife?' No answer came except more rain So I looked around And was surprised to see A sheep standing next to me Grazing neatly I bleated at it 'Baaaaaaaaaaaaaah' But it sheepishly ignored me And Grazed on neatly What do you say old wooly one? Can this person be the one? It turned and looked at me and said 'Shut the hell up you moron!' And at that, I fled

Cats I Have Known

To Tiger, our first, and best, a grey Tabby,
large and handsome, with broad black stripes,
I only had to speak your name,
and you moved to obey.

To our second, Sylvester, exact replica
of the cartoon character, a born hunter,
lining up your prey on the front walk.
I welcomed the mice and shrews.
But, do you recall me prying your jaws
open to set the chipmunks free?

And Tricia, our Calico, gorgeous
enough to be queenly, but sweet.
How we loved watching you play
with S'Lito and Rugby,
as if you too were a dog.

Next, Petunia, your snow white coat
in sharp contrast to black ears,
tail and face mask – a true beauty.
Yet a quirky personality spoils
your disposition. You "talk" non-stop
and hiss at anything that moves.
If only I could speak your language.

You're the kicker, Sweet William,
resident ruler of my heart.
You came to us as a kitten,
nondescript, long and lean,
independent, sometimes aloof,
sometimes very affectionate,
always playful, always endearing.

All of you were unwanted rejects,
dumped like sacks of garbage,
each unique, each with your own niche
in our permanent memory banks.

DOMESTICATED ANIMALS

DOMESTICATED ANIMALS

Our friends, Animals,
Your name from the Greek word
“Anemos” comes,
That Anaximenes, the wise of old,
The divine wind, that sustains the
Universe, named,
Which with every breath, the lugs of
Living beings fills
All of them animates.

Our comrades you are,
Our benefactors,
Companions in our life’s
Journey,
Guarantors of our
Endurance,
The path to survival, you
Have guarded for us,
Us, who call ourselves,
Humans

Without your presence, absent
We today would be
That’s why I call you
Benefactors

Because

You kept us fed when
Hungry were,
Kept us warm, when from
Cold we suffered,
On your uncomplaining backs
You carried us
And our hard labor you, for us,
Performed
Never asking something
In return
For
Your unending sacrifices!

The time has come for me
And all of us, I believe,
Our gratitude to you
To demonstrate
By treating your nature
With kindness
And never cause you
Any pain
Since you, as well as us,
GOD'S creation are,
Intended HIS HOLLY work
To maintain!

Anaximenes Of Miletus , (flourished c. 545 bc), Greek philosopher. There is evidence that he made the common analogy between the divine "anemos" wind, that sustains the (Cosmos) universe and the human “wind” or soul, "anima" that animates people.

My wonderful lady

Style con verse

My wonderful lady

Such wonderful eyes of blue
How they thrill me through, and through

Her love flows like a river flows
As every day it grows, and grows

Hair like velvet, skin so soft and fair
She’s so cuddly like koala bear.

Her smile is like the sun at early morn
Her voice is like the bird song in the dawn

I love this lady much more than words can tell
If she weren’t with me, my life it would be hell.

Love and loss

For my birthday ,
was a puppy ,
cute and friendly ,
it became eventually .

Fluffy and white ,
never used to bite ,
social and active ,
and never used to fight .

But one day ,
a tragedy happened ,
my spirits were dampened ,
and my heart was saddened .

I gave him chocolate ,
A poison to him ,
His face was dim ,
And breathless ….

I took him to the vet ,
Where he treated him ,
I was praying ,
‘O Lord please save him !’

And soon he was fine ,
I know he is a brave doggy ,
And who’s doggy is he ??
Of course , he’s mine !! :))

In My Mind

Within the passage of time
I see you, my enchanted ecstasy, walking
Down a cobblestone street in silhouette.
Carefully placed footsteps echoing the
The pavement without the slightest of regrets.
Through the faint gas lit corridor
Vintage smells and a whispering wind
Accompany me.
Now matter where I go -
No matter when I go –
Footsteps going forward
Revealing the past.

In a cumbersome transom blended
With a tap-ta-tap, tap-ta-tap
Of a horse drawn carriage –
Therein our song is revealed.
Where else but in music do thoughts
Blend reality with emotions?
There in my mind’s eye
Tap-ta-tap,
tap-ta-tap,
tap-ta-tap.

Do I have any life but this?
If not - let me lead it from here.
No death there be ‘lest
Dispelled from there.
Nor any ties to earths to come.
Nor any action in any effort of new.
Except in the blessed extent
In the realm of loving you.

And in my mind’s eye –
The music,
Tap-ta-tap,
tap-ta-tap -
Of cobblestone and hoof –
Ta-tap
Always
Ta-tap
Returns me to you.

Loyal Gifts

The best gift a dog can give
Has not received fair credit
Every good dog
Loves its pet people
Often selflessly
Year after year
A good dog bestows its
Loyalty upon
Those it loves
You see it in the eyes
Often the behavior
From one day to the next
A loyal dog
Does all that it can to
Offer all the gifts that
God allows it to give of itself.

Summer

I swear to the summer- I am a well-aged drummer...

Like liver and pee's

Like grease on the tree's

Like Sweet tarts and tea

I swear to the summer- I am a well-aged drummer...

Like listeners without runners

Like dangerous men without gunners

-Don't be naked just be funner

Don't be jaded just act like your comin'

I swear to the summer- I need no real number

I swear to your comin'- I love the leader and all the wanderer

And the fisherman

And the ponderer

And the drinker

And the blunderer

I swear to the summer -I am a well aged drummer

I can take away your lumber

And burn it like a hunter

I can turn it into somethin'

-that I saw in the light of the reflection

I can see you dance well in the mist

Of nature's best kiss

And resist when you need the fist

And reminisce,
even though I am just a man
And I have never felt the shit

Like a tall building that hasn't been built yet

Like an animal that hasn't been born yet

Like man with his child

Like women with her mild

Life has a style

You have it,
and you fill

In the mind
And in the child

Just to say it again,
you have been the smile

And your love makes me wild

And your hugs hold for miles

And your fun takes the pile

And even though you're gone now I can stay for a while

And sway in the reef when the tide lifts me

And feel the knees when I become weak

And be too much when too much hits me

And sleep when god reads me

Ode to a Canary

His name was Mr Cinnamon
and he loved to sing.

Lost among the masses yet within the throng
he lifted his head and began a song.
Without thought the mass would open and part
the burdened would feel an uplifted heart.
The songs, each one, were simple and pure
and none could escape the magical allure
of the one who sang
the one who went
by such a simple name
He never fought
Girls flocked around him
He was humble
He only wanted one thing

His name was Mr Cinnamon
and he loved to sing

Sonnet Chiweenie Boo

Your dad, a Dachshund once stuck in Chihuahua.
The best of both in you, with that expectant
Confusing carpets for the lawn enigma.
I know….the raining….getting wet….you can’t.

As coldness chills the room, a sheet for you.
The perfect tucking of in, but you moved!
I ponder, just how crazy is my Boo?
The sheet’s thread count too low to be approved?

Your dance in circles, spinning on the floor.
Rewards and treasures known upon the racks.
Induced by meals and that one pantry door.
In such a fury, choking on the snacks.

I know what God’s book says, I’ve searched it whole.
But still, I hope you have a little soul.

Mating of the Rich and Famous

I once walked into my backyard
and found two slugs mating in a bucket
I had just learned how slugs go about mating,
or trust-I would have been rightly confused

Here hangs a long line of slime, almost a foot long
and then halfway down the thread of slime, it begins to twist, to look like a strand of DNA
I am fascinated beyond comprehension
What am I seeing, I mean I KNOW what Im seeing- But WHAT am I seeing??

These two gelatinous creatures, that I admit Ive never given much thought to before
are forming the most intricate, delicate dance of fornication
This is too much for my mind,
and so I just sat and looked on in awe...this lasted for awhile so I unfortunately wasnt there for the seperation.

Now, Im lost in the realm of procreation, its consumed in my head every time I go back and imagine those delicate slugs.

Cats. Big, small, lions, cheetahs, tigers..I believe they all mate the same way.
A female goes into estrus, and males come rolling in from far and wide. Marking every guidepost along the way, announcing his arrival.
The Lioness lays comfortably in the shade, waiting to be presented her King.
And the brawl ensues. Maybe hours or days. Screaming and slashing, boasting and threatening.
And finally when the lesser males are too worn out, too ashamed, given up, deflated...
The big man with all the prowess grabs his woman with his teeth, mounting her, her resisting..testing if she approves.
They are loud and vicious when they finally get down to it. And persistent.
Days go by, they barely eat, they are barely concious of their surroundings, hormones driving them.
They mate, they rest, they fight, they mate, they rest.
And then its over just like nothing ever happened. And shes left alone to gestate the next generation.

Birds. Birds vary...dogs and cats can be predictable when it comes to making babies.
But birds have different rules. Alot of birds mate for life and are monogomous...better than humans at it too.
Swans are particularly faithful, and heartbroken when their mates die.
There is a type of male bird that will spend hours upon hours building elaborate, beautiful nests,
collecting pretty, colorful things...making a comfortable space to get it on with his lady.
And then the females browse the different nests looking for the perfect living space for a very important event.
Some birds dance, they show off every beautiful move they have to earn the heart and eggs of a woman.
And we all know peacocks. The males are burdened with being beautiful, trying to catch a pretty birds eye. Quite opposite of us peoples, huh?

I could go on...but just a few more points on procreation.
Penguins, males keeping the eggs, almost starving to death to make sure they hatch.
Crocodiles burying their eggs just offshore, and just waiting to take out predators looking for yummy croc eggs.
Octopi will do some craziness where the female starves herself to death to make sure her young hatch alive.
Male seahorses defying everything we know about life, carry the babies....if they can, why...??
Orcas will nurse for up to 5 years, even after another calf has been born. The females never leave the family.
Female hyenas have a 7 inch clitoris which they give birth out of, Im grateful to not be a hyena.
The strongest, largest shark in the womb will cannibalize its siblings. Survival of the fittest.

So now Humans.
We have hormones like all the other animals, we act on them, we procreate.
But its almost as if we do this slyly. Not everyone obviously-not aimed at people fighting to have a child.
We say were making love, connecting, feeling. But how much is truly lust, hormones and instinct?
We have similarities of all animals in our mating rituals, whether babies are in mind or not.
Men act tough, or try to look so slick. Women flirt and dance and wear bright shiny objects, like shes trying to lure a magpie not a partner.
And we have our fights, we get vicious and physical, we fight and we penetrate, fight and penetrate.
And then almost always someone walks away.

I always come back to the slugs.
Where there seems to be no pretension, no need for competition.
I could be so completly wrong about so many things.
But those slugs just seem to be doing something right.

SARAH SNAKE

Sarah snake slithered so slowly, for she had lost her way in life
She used to be a happy snake; she was once a loving wife

But her hubby Sydney he had passed away and now she was all alone
She slithered around so aimlessly and drifted far away from home

She wrapped her scaly body round the base of an old tree
And wept many sad tears dreaming of her lovely mate Sydney

A young girl was walking by and had never seen a snake cry
She crept over to Sarah who was sobbing like she would die

She stroked Sarah’s scaly skin and wiped the tears from her eyes
Sarah looked at her with her beady eyes in amazement and surprise

The little girl whose name was Lynn, ran over to her mother
Asked if she could keep Sarah and share her with her brother

Her mum came to look at the sad snake and they took the old snake home
Now Sarah lives with the family she is contented and no longer alone

Beloved Companions -part 5-

A couple weeks before her fourteenth birthday, We knew something was wrong Peanut, who loved to eat above all else, suddenly turned down food To make it worse she was having trouble breathing I had urged my dad that we had to take her to the pet hospital, and he agreed At the hospital, when they told us what was wrong, I could see the look in my dad’s face Even I knew, it was her time We all got to say our final goodbyes, Held her paw, and stayed with her as she drifted to sleep Her passing had hit us so hard, like a huge weight had fallen onto us I kept asking myself, over and over again, “why did she have to go?” We all thought she was gone forever, And tears of sadness had stuck with us for a while Then a strong realization came over us, Peanut was not gone, She would always be with us Tears of sadness soon became tears of happiness When we learned about the Rainbow Bridge Hearing that touching story, We all knew Peanut would forever be in our minds and our hearts If Peanut is waiting on the other side of that Rainbow Bridge, Then I look forward to the day when we cross that bridge and can be with her again Dedicated to Peanut In our memories, The pets that have passed will always remain We realize upon having them That they turn out to be something more- A loving companion, a protector, And most of all, a friend Someone who will always be there for you And understands, One who gives you a shoulder to cry on, A creature subtly unassuming, Who will simply listen.. There is a connection with our pets That is impossible to break And when there comes a time to say goodbye, That connection will help us continue on We never want them to leave, But all of us know that nothing lasts forever But the effect they leave on you And the love you have for them does

I get to see the eagle soar.

Mother nature she gives us the capability to explore
and how I wish to see so much more. A walk on the
sand by the ocean shore. Where me and my daughter
collect sea shells, whilst breathing in that sea breeze smell.

Pretty Little Singing Bird

Pretty little singing bird
Pretty as can be!
Singing, the sweetest melody
Serenading me
Pretty little singing bird
You make my heart sing!
Pretty little singing bird
Will you be my friend?
With my love of writing
And your sweetest songs
We can make the world
A beautiful place
With our own personal, unique style
Pretty little singing bird
Don’t fly away!
Did I scare you?
Won’t you stay?
Be sure to tell your animal friends
To come visit me soon!
I love you
Pretty little singing bird
You are, my sweetest friend!

Can you make a poem about turtles on the spot

So I am asked to make a poem about turtles,
Then I how I think of how they met,
So let me tell you a little love story,
About these two named Charles and Levette
With their spotted necks and detailed shells,
They met at a river bank with flowers shaped just like bells
It was love at first sight,
Like we will all like to know,
But since they were turtles,
You can say their relationship moved kinda slow

Let Love grow

Love for all

Soft heart in a wolf
and sly fox in man,
Mannequins pondering
and thoughtless we,
Susan's work inspires,
ever wonder why ?

Her love for all
living souls with emotions,
Even an owl is so subtle
wrong notion of an omen,
As adorable is a carnivore,
creation of the Almighty !

Animals so affectionate
can rightly construe,
While we brainy beings
fail to feel their blues,
Susan's art speaks,
what even words can't say !

Her unique approach
and value for life,
Is what reflects beauty
of the soul inside,
Love knows no bounds
Body is just a lie !

My Pussy

What a pussy is my pussy cat
 soft, silky, shiny n delicate
 touching her makes me feel
 mouth-melting goody chocolate

she would purr, turn and mew
  warming herself up and me
she wags her tail up up and down
like a waggling kite flying free

she would push and rub my hand
when i gently scratch her back
i would poke her erect ears
her smooth contour i would track

Her claws are hellish razor sharp
but she'd never swipe at me
she and i share innocent love
together we play with joy and glee.

when i hold the pussy in my lap
I could clearly feel her heart beat
her throbbings are like a virgin bride
her bloom would feel like gossamer treat.

Who I Seek

Who I Seek

When O'Henry our cat is one who I seek
We can always tell by his variable squeak
Which he does instead of going meow
Thought of it himself from out of the blue.

Now O'Henry when we are often seeking
Look forward to hearing his horrible squeaking
Likes licking body so off things won't fall
That turn out becoming a big hairball.

Is always highly attentive as he nears
Seeing his stuck up and pointed ears
Wiggle back and forth in every direction
Can cats actually have a lose connection?

Rudi Rudi

Rudi Rudi
My beloved wild
A poem for you
No one like you
Your soft claws and tiny teeth
Your hiss soft as a whisper

Rudi Rudi
My beloved child
The lessons you teach
Never will I forget
In the embrace cocoon
I return you to the nest of love

My wild Rudi
A poem for you
My beloved child

Destiny

This may come as a surprise to quite a few
But if you're a pet lover it won't to you
This sweet soul watched over my mom In her final days
She brought her comfort and warmth In so many way's
She's not a doctor or nurse she's not any of that
Her name is Destiny my little white cat
Very sensitive and smart
Small of body but big of heart
This may seem hard to believe
She knew when mom had pain to relieve
Often she knew it long before us
She would try to tell us by making a fuss
When she knew that mom was going to have a bad day
She would not leave her room by her side she would stay
Some religions call them familiar's they're considered a treasure
They see between worlds with a love beyond measure
So when you get old and your days are coming to an end
Rest assured you'll be loved By your little four legged friend

Little Bird

Past happiness is what keeps me here
You wish to stay and sing along
content with your surroundings.
Yet you knew I can't accept that.
You say I'm your little bird
The bird with no cage
The cage with no latch.
How can you not know?
I am in your cage,
the cage of "I love You"s and "We'll go away together someday"s
You are my cage,
I use to be happy in it
But you had to go and lie
You had to lose my trust.
I have let you out of your cage
and if you continue to lie
I will let myself out of mine.
I am not your little bird.
I am not your pet.
I have my own set of wings.
I have my own set of talons.
Don't make me use them.

Waltz Dragon

I have no want to help in technical progression.
With 6 billion and counting. Let someone else do it.
I have no stride to conquer the universe.
This world is our home.
With endless areas to know on your own.
Without their help.

Three lives open this door.
And no matter what.
Only one of those three will truly close it.
And I do not even curtsy the thought
of seeing anyone of you there.

When I get to tomorrow.

A priceless restitution.
For a fingerprint journey of, actually, desolution.
Its not mad, prince.
Or sad, princess.
Fate is a fable.
Your life is not a story.

Billions of invisible hands. Like any farmers field.
Holding on to a bar with weird engravings
Etched into it.
All of the answers are in the palm of your hands.
If only our eyes could read them. Plucked.
Oh if only we hadn't been fixed.

The garden is very much here.
But when the mother passes out.
And you are separated in concerns for your health.
You are secretly given the deserts map.
Of only left turns forever a turn is coming ahead.

There is not nature living with us here.
In the place that we are in.
That is not comfort that you are feeling within.
Its the god of mirage. Leaving us staring blank-less.
Into a corner of black. Not darkness.

Well! My gums play a gymnast.
My teeth reverse the up and down!
Why not eat your own flesh, indulge in yourself.

Just on the very edge of the desert bashes
a soundproof completed tsunami ocean.
Salt-less.
Where men have always succumbed.
Too terrified to go on with exploration.
There is more than this
Your soul is a great dance.
Not a history lesson.

who knew

who knew?

firstoff, i wish to say, but not overdo,
that i never knew, what the new gnu knew
he never really said very much, and i knew
he wouldn't as such, since, being a new gnu
he hadn't much clue 'bout what to do

the previous gnu had a more worldly view
from Kalamazoo journeyed east to Timbuktu
beyond Katmandu south, down to old Peru
been many places, wore out many a shoe
but always believed that he'd come through

he got entangled with a bit of a shrew
a South American sheep, a hot-blooded ewe
that took every opportunity to scold and spew
venomous accusations that were mostly untrue
she really raised a big hullabaloo

he, being the good gnu we all knew
tried to smooth her feathers, to gently subdue
her wild angers towards that wildebeest
but, to little avail to say the least
yet it was the best the old gnu knew to do

he bleated that his love for her was true
she neighed loudly that no, they were through
she saw him now, from a whole different view
said she was leaving, that he should not pursue
for all she cared, he could turn into glue

she knew now she wanted the new gnu to woo
the new gnu knew amorously what would quickly ensue
but couldn't overcome with analytical review
certainty of grief from passions point of view
love's cliff came careening into abysmal view

"Ewe are what I want" the new gnu cried anew
in turn the ewe replied "i will always love you"
we'll build a life we always wanted, long overdue
have many children, a whole herd, a gnu ewe crew
we'll be happy ever after, in our own petting zoo

the new gnu thought he'd just follow through
but things went awry, let's say, far askew
the new gnu knew he'd met his own Waterloo
it wasn't long, you know, 'fore the ewe went skidoo
without even so much as a fond adieu

then the new gnu and the old gnu began to renew
a friendship, from which they both, had withdrew
i don't wish to insinuate, and not misconstrue
the bond of companionship the gnus lovingly grew
when old bonds are severed another comes on cue

now the gnus know what all beings should too
happiness and contentment depends on your view
you never know what the turn of your screw
in pursuit of a felicity, unknown hitherto
gets new gnu possibilities coming out of the blue

...thank you...

Rosie

Rosie

She bounced into my life like sunshine on four legs
Chasing paper balls and toying with clothes pegs,
Blooming with vitality and purrfect happiness
She keeps me entertained for hours with her playfulness.

My love for my sweet Rosie is as infinite as the stars,
As great as the distance is from here to planet Mars,
Her bright green eyes convey to me her little every wish
Which usually refers to something tasty in a dish.

On days when all my problems strive to weigh me down,
Rosie leaps upon my knee and banishes my frown,
How could I not be jovial with such a friend as this?
She fills my time with pleasure and I reward her with a kiss.

I love each wiry whisker upon her little velvet face,
Her lynx like ears, soft deep purrs and total flawless grace.
My life is so much brighter with this furry beaming light
Who ends my day with harmony when Rosie sleeps with me at night.

The Onyx Bird

The saddest thing I ever saw
Lay splattered on the floor
An onyx bird with feathers sprawled
I hoped he’d made heaven’s door.

Although his mangled body lay
Lifelessly on sad display.
Those who passed didn’t seem dismayed
But on the road he lay that day

His eyes had lost all their light
With his ability for flight.
And now he rests in god's great might
But still it is a saddened sight.

Do believe me when I say
That was not the tragic part.

Because faithfully at his side
There was a mournful chide,
While ruby blood stains dried.
Another onyx bird will bide.

Forevermore she’ll always long
For his beautiful melodic song.
Until in heaven where they belong
Both the onyx birds may soar like one.

A bee

A bee is an amazing and wonderful thing,
That is of course until it shows you it's sting,
And then it will die, as all things must end,
And now you will live on with this wound now to mend.

Me and You at the Zoo

For as I hold your hand
in the blizzering snow
As we are in the zoo
we know that we will be always together
As we walk around the cages
every animal snores in it's cage
Every animal in the zoo
is snoring and getting a hair cut too.
In the zoo.

You'll Either Learn To Recognize Then Bow, Or

We want you ? Never a smile upon that face and why not
This is serious business; cradling their shores of, never more....
It's a family tradition; rock-a-by baby with their golden google eyes ?
Sailing across her sea ninety degrees separated from another's blood shot cries
Insidious this nature when one lay amid the bed be wickedness; arranged weddings
Predestined manifestations crashing waves their ushering tides ? Whoredom's lullabies
Building cities atop love's wakes ? Beacon lights illusions fate lessons learned a bit too late.

Simple devotion

They comfort us in their silence
showing us love without words;
Their simple devotions make us nobler,
asking nothing in return

A few seconds of our love
and their tiny hearts are filled;
How much they teach us about giving,
asking nothing in return

Tiny Tiger

My tiny Tiger,
Your body like a second heart
 Beating against my chest

 The intense rhythm
 Of your pulsing vibrations
 Are serenity itself

 Is it deepest pleasure
 Or comfort and peace
That I sense in your shuttered eyes?

Or is it a mere reflection
 Of my own contentment
In taming for these brief moments,
 My tiny Tiger

Little prince

His royal bloodline
can be traced
to the temples and
pyramids of Egypt

Killer instinct
fully intact,
but no longer
required

Regal bearing
reflected
in every
movement

He sits nobly now,
on this humble
throne of pine
and carpet

Waiting for his
master to groom
his mane and
serve his dinner

Going Animalistic About Russia

Flesh, once more revealing it's aweful fangs....
This irony, so easy we see ? Java man caverns cold
Entering their final stand; the withering of her fig trees
Seeking to stem his tides be sin ? Failing as gazing into truth's
Mirrors which reveal their own: feeding your beast chasing, cheese
Blind unto them one foot cast amid carnal's trap ? Belial playing monopoly
Watching prophecy unfold afore ignorant eyes these, foretold tides ? Melting skies a trumpant blows.

Exterminator's Lament

People and mice
live together
forever. Mice don't
care. They just know
what they like.
 .
Caveman-like
tenant warm squats
food hubs,
babies' buvettes.
They navigate
with poor eyes,
by noses,
the dark
mazes.
 .
I have my own
trouble with sympathy.
Oh Disney how you have
led me astray.
I hear them
unkillable with their
pitter patter feet.

An Animal's Attack

Last year I was attacked by a fierce animal.
I shot it but the bullet only grazed its skull.
I began to pray because I knew I'd be harmed.
That creature severed one of my legs and my arms.
The creature that attacked me was a ferocious tiger.
A woman drove up and luckily I was saved by her.
The lady's car scared the tiger and it ran from fright.
If she hadn't drove up, I would've died that night.
The tiger that maimed me had escaped from the zoo.
I fell in love with that woman and she loves me too.
When I was escorted to the emergency room, I had to be carried.
Even though I'm deformed, she loves me and we're getting married.

(This is a fictional poem)

Colourful Food

She lives in passion past her eyes
Underneath the dying skies
It’s alright when you’re alive
Living when you can decide

She still believes in everyone
Even when they don’t belong
It’s okay to dance along
Even when there are no songs

I want to hold her to her words
So naïve and undisturbed
I want to tell her what I’ve heard
But now I see this is absurd

Wander on into her fear
The only way I can be near
Find a way to be sincere
To trick her heart, to bring her here

She’s the only one I need to find
This animal has lost his mind
She is colourful inside
But this animal will eat her alive
