Off Of His Game

Stoneheart Mickey McKade was his fit fighting name.
Bare Knuckle Boxing was his beloved chosen game.
Then Muley Will Dutton broke Stoneheart’s jutting jaw.
To the surprise of all present, Mickey started to bawl.
Now Slackjaw Mickey McKade is in the sport’s Hall Of Shame.

Tests

Pen flies when out of sight,
Boy, I hope that I'm right.
No award for me,
What a shame that'd be,
At least I gave it all my might.

Charge It

I only just begun to charge
Impulsive buys are way too large
My credit card sighs
While bankbook cries
My pay cheque I need to enlarge

*So many things to buy since I bought a house, but I really am a wise shopper : )

Mediocre Man

There once was a man that was lackluster
Who's life was one giant cluster
Writes a suicide note
He slits his throat
Blank stares are all his family can muster

The hunters search for glory

The hunter’s search for glory

Now here is a little story
Of a hunter’s search for glory
He shot at a bear
But didn’t take care
And then the story turned gory.

Once a Month

She’s doing my head in; I'm at my wits end
I reckon she’s losing the plot
Her tempers are fierce and her moods have no trend
And I’m struggling to deal with the way that she’s got

She gives me no warning of what is in store
And erupts at the drop of a hat
I’ve stopped trying to find out what is wrong anymore
Why she finds fault in this and in that

My once gentle darling is now snapping and snarling
And all that I do is still wrong
Being caring and loving, reassuring and giving
Brings even more spite from her tongue

This female behaviour that causes such stress
(That in men would be labelled ‘Quite Mad’)
Has no rhyming or reason but when it’s in season
PMT wears us blokes down a tad

Who else would she pick on to let it all out?
As the pressure builds up with such force
Well I’ve had enough; I’m not taking her ‘Stuff’!
So I’ve gone ‘til the ‘Curse’ runs its course.

Monster in my Closet

There’s a monster in my closet
He's shrinking up all my clothes
My tee-shirts and my blue jeans
My sweaters and my coats

My jackets and my pee-jays
My cardigans and my robe
I swear Im going to find
The monster shrinking all my clothes

He must be in the shadows
Hanging on a closet line
Thread and needle waiting
To shrink and sew what’s mine

At times I try to catch him
In circles I go round
But this monster is too hard to catch
Since I’ve gained a few extra pounds.
