THE OLD OAK TREE

Oh I am but a simple leaf
         withering within the gutter
         one summer of bliss
         now! Just an autumn flutter.

                   For some; destine to fall
                   upon stony ground, a part
                   of life’s infernal gyration.
                   Yet for those that fall
                   within your reach, to live
                   on within your soul!

         While limbs that stretch
         towards the solstice, create
vivacious veins as channels of hope,
         a pledge of foliation continues
         to endure what spring has
         furnished; autumn expires.

Yes! If we can but learn
                   from nature’s complex simplicity,
that life be of a cycle
from the seed we are conceived,
then let spring be my beginning
                   winter my exultant eve!

         Let our two cultures
         merge as one, the
         decomposed humus
         to become the sustenance;
         our transfusion the
         new beginning.

                   Let us breathe the
                   fragrance of born again;
                   let each slender limb,
                   stout body bear our
                   tenaciousness, each lyrical
                   leaf our life’s blood.

          Let us mollycoddle each
precious tear that falls from a
          angry sky; dance gracefully
          upon the wind, embrace
          on moonless nights, bathe
           in summer madness.

Let us hear the bluebell call,
                   the daffodil pray, the apple
                   blossom bear witness; the
                   clamour of the field mouse
                   the pitapat of the butterfly
the silence of lovers in love.

Let us be sanctuary to the
             symbolic songstress, scuttling
             squirrel, vulgar urchin;
             a fortress for the warrior
             a haven for the pacifist
             an inspiration for the poet!

 EPILOGUE

                  The call of springtime
                   we will invoke,
                     logging representative
                      we will gladly choke;
                        nature’s guardian.
                          “This! Obliging old oak.”

Spring Showers

The Happy Field and Spring Shower Hand in hand, we fluttered like two butterflies among the fragrant flowers of the field and meandered, singing songs, along a stream. No agendas to keep to; no schedules to curtail the pure pleasure that we took in consuming every lovely hour of our Saturday. With our picnic lunch, we sat down on a blanket. Later we lay looking up at clouds. Transported to the wonderland of our imagination, we named them fluffy mountain ranges, bunnies, sheep, and Easter lily petals until they morphed into lopsided bearded faces, huge white polar bears and cotton-breathing dragons. Unexpectedly, the clouds grew dark, and suddenly, we saw and felt large raindrops splatter on our skin. We fled our happy field, arriving home - two children, wet and laughing, just as the spring shower let up. How were we to know in the springtime of our lives that the field and the rain from which we fled I’d one day write about as metaphors for youth. Written for the Spring Showers contest 3/30/13

MEMORIES ON BRANCHES

Scrumptious sight of prairies and grass
Ardent beaming of flower buds and buzzing bees
Leafless coils, branches of trees become alive
Hastening! Arousing everyone's joy and vive
             Everyone happy on cheerful springtime!

A cotillion trips and chirps of jolly birds
From some distance, I have started to heard
Fantastic shun and kisses of pretty butterflies
Tempting all species of flora and fauna to thrive
Welcoming, beckoning the heat of summertime!

First crisp of breeze, creating dew in morning
Canopy of red and orange leaves from branches, enchanting!
Turning the world into a canvass of nature's brush
Unnoticeable, such romantic dash making anyone blush
Revel, embrace the sweet amorous season of autumn!

                 Solid chilling raindrops of snowflakes
                Giving warning: careful during breaks
Covering branches, bringing icy cold aches
Yet, skiing an exhilarating cool escape
Delight in the coolness ambiance of winter!

SPRING REFULGENCE

Icicles on leaves and branches of trees
They begin to melt down bit by bit
Rays of sunlight appears, as winter cease
Freezing air fades, as glow of sun increase

Squirrels, rabbits run wild and free
Birds of various speed soaring high
                      Their mellifluous tweets, a melody
                      Piebald butterflies dancing merrily

Leafless, lifeless trees in healthy living
Colorful buds of daffodils, magnolias around
Their natural beauty, a wonder, stately astounding!
Rain falls, softening the earth as new shoots abounds!

Frozen grasses before, now stilled with energy light
Blossoms as well, humbled with new beginning
Seeds scattered rises as in springs
Snows gone, as sun's refulgence a revering bright

Ever Turning Circle

In winter’s white, as angels cry
for early spring to warm the wind,
to bring to life with gentle sigh,
in love, the bitter frost has thinned.

For early spring to warm the wind,
at Valentine’s romantic calls,
in love, the bitter frost has thinned,
where dancers twirl amid stone walls.

At Valentine’s romantic calls,
rebirth of nature’s light divine,
where dancers twirl amid stone walls,
and blossoms pastel shades recline.

Rebirth of nature’s light divine,
when day equals the hours of night,
and blossoms pastel shades recline,
to hail the queen of May in light.

When day equals the hours of night,
a summer’s sun will come to play,
to hail the queen of May in light,
we chant and sing along the way.

A summer’s sun will come to play,
so life can grow as gods decreed,
we chant and sing along the way,
with warmth and light our hunger feed.

So life can grow as gods decreed,
the rays of sun on seeds we’ve sown,
with warmth and light our hunger feed,
the wealth of harvest is our own.

The rays of sun on seeds we’ve sown,
in autumn breeze that chills the heat,
the wealth of harvest is our own,
as gold and red belies our feet.

In autumn breeze that chills the heat,
a year that ends with blessed Samhain,
as gold and red belies our feet,
the call of Ancient’s name to reign.

A year that ends with blessed Samhain,
to bring to life with gentle sigh,
the call of Ancient’s name to reign,
in winter’s white, as angels cry.

Monarch of Summer

I await your coming
for the flowers are blooming and the grass is high…
lilac branches still bare and shivering
in the laggard lion’s breath of March
they await your kiss, Monarch of summer.

purplish buds
sprout from gray lilac branches --
daffodils bloom

Though all the tulips are gone
having served as desert for gophers,
the worm and the grubs stir in the wet spring soil…
and the hyacinths have replaced the crocus’s blue
the paper narcissus now, scent the air.

red breasted robins
hop between hummocks of grass --
bird bathes fill with rain

From the within the green pupa, soon
you will stir ..the membrane will thin, sheer as a curtain
in a spring breeze adorned in polka dots
and wings like the crinolines of spindle legged
virgin daughters at first communion...
you will emerge with lash long antennae ready to fly.

leaves of cone flowers
push through the brown soil of spring --
anthills rise

I await your coming
for the flowers are blooming and the grass is high…
lilac branches still bare and shivering
in the laggard lion’s breath of March
they await your kiss, Monarch of summer
butterflies born.

April's last Flowers

April's last Flowers

I was watching carefully
The last stems
Of April's Red flowers
Which were spreading their beauty and smile
Unconcerned with the destiny
That after April
There would be almost no such flowers
Of red Lily
For another one year.01

The flowers were smiling
As if, it makes no difference to them
Whether, they would be here or not
When the hot winds of summer
Would try to wither and make dull
The beauty and grace
Of every human face
As often they succeed in withering
The beauty of flowers and life
That exits and breath
Without the love drops of life giving water.02

The last flowers of April
Were also unconcerned
That they would shrink and would get dried
By the heat and dust of summer
In the days to come
When the scorching Sun would
Burn the Earth, Sea and Water
To create the wonders of rains
For thirty lands and sky of the earth.03

What a great way to live life
Was prevailing
In these smiling last flowers of April
Alas! If only humans can understand
How to live a life with the pleasure of love
And get lost forever
Without the worries of tomorrows.04

The flowers were enjoying
Every moment of their existence
Unconcerned
With the butterflies and black bees
Which were hovering on them
Since day one
And were trying to please and praise them
To win their hearts
Like men praise and please the women
When they want to attract and win their heart. 05

The hovering butterflies and bees too
Were trying to show their love
To all the beautiful flowers of April
Before the alluring beauty of these flowers
So that these alluring flowers
May allow them to come close and kiss them
In the flowering season of spring.06

Every time these symbols of love
The black bees, butterflies and
Even the little black tiny bird
Were coming close
To kiss and to touch the petals of flowers
They were charging with a new energy
After getting the love drops
From their beloved red flowers
And they were flying
More and more high in the sky
Perhaps to touch the those lofty heights
Which can only be seen
When nectar like love drops
Creates its magic on these searching lips
Filling it with the energy of love
Which get reflected in every new flight
Of these beautiful creatures
When they fly from one flower to another. 07

And I was watching silently
With a Camera in my hand
While witnessing
The last of these April flowers
To catch the glimpse of
Any of these memorable moments.08

Their silent game of nectar and pleasure hunt
Continued in that bright sunlight
As more and more new creatures
Were coming to please and to win their beloved
Standing there with its ravishing beauty
So that, they may welcome them
With a smile and beauty
And may allow them to taste
The nectar of these red beauty and love
Which starts pouring it's magic
With the approach of April
In spring every year. 09

The ' Hoppy Ban '

So sad..Hopping in and Out of one' s life....

It's Peter Rabbit for Pete's" sake...

He comes by each and every year...

For this they say we should fear ?

Just to share a Spring holiday ?...

He's a horrid creature, so they say...

He has big ears and a cotton tail...

And sometimes he even carries a pail..

Full of candy, and colorful decorated eggs...

This day is between Valentine hearts , and Green Beer kegs....

He's rarely ever seen...

And has never ever been mean...

So why are all these American States...

Having all these holiday debates ?..

I await my basket filled with a chocolate kiss..

I only hope his picture does not end up on...

Spring's Budding Romance

Lovely hued flowers adorn my sills, painting over winter's gloom Budding blossoms, an abundant gift from earth's lavish garden Spring has arrived in splendor; she is fully clad in fragrant bloom An array of vivid petals wave to greet me through my open curtain A banquet for my eyes until the azure skies gallantly darken Fresh green scapes boldly beckon with promise of sunlit strolls Winter's slumber has contained all of my audacious desires The thaw of spring awakens passions welling in my soul Brilliant butterflies flutter, pristine snowflakes try to aspire As spring's budding romance is displayed, winter has expired Melodies enchant the barren forests as leaves sprout in song Trees sway to spring's beautiful music and burst with creation Robin's nest caresses bright blue eggs on branches thick and strong Graceful wings dance on the golden horizon, birds sing in elation Nature embraced by the sun and earth, spring's miraculous sensation

Refreshing Spring Showers

After a soft spring shower last night, the air was washed clean
And saturated mother earth brings to life nature's bounty
Wisteria, Jasmine, and Azeala's scent wafts perfuming the cleansed air

Last night's accompanying thunder and lightning
Brought nitrogen that restores green to grass, plants, and trees
Now renewed shades of green dot the rolling hills, dashes of soft color those spring greens

A gentle zephyr stirs the leaves refreshed from the moisture and rich nitrogen air
Now hidden within the once barren limbs a tiny bird's nest nestled with care
Soon baby birds will emerge to feast on seeds nourished from this spring shower

A gentle spring shower is a blessing for man, earth and beast
Refreshing, restoring, and nourishing so all will be able to eat
Spring showers put in store water to carry the earth through summer's heat

Out on the porch to enjoy air washed of pollen, cleansed, and refreshed
And hear the birds sing at their very best
Last night's soft spring shower assures their life will be blessed__

Shrink Wrapped

The days go by
as I walk around the man made lake,
churning the tides of time backwards
making butter from the gold and brown broth
a solitary wanderers on the same gravel path.
Always a person for whom the flow meant danger
from spring to summer, I walk the scene
with cheery “mornin’s”
popping the insular bubbles
of self imposed

Silence.

The days go by
as spring returned to my aged step.
The flow lures the weary mind tired of treading water.
Glassine eyes cataract dimmed clear and lift to blue skies.
Familiar faces grin back hooked
on a cheery “mornin’”
Marshaled resources clockwise turn.
Forward thinking, right sided, occasion walks
from summer to fall
popping the insular bubbles
of self imposed

Silence.

The Blooms Pristen

In the spring, I'm a Daffodill
In many hues, dancing on the hill
Swaying with the gentle breeze
In the spring I'm easy to please

In late spring, I'm pale pink rose
Growing on the trellis, inviting bees toes
To touch on me, drink their fill of nectar
Sweet, in late spring I'm real neat

In early summer, I'm Buddleia
When Butterflies come, Cassiopeiae
Is so jealous of the attention
As they touch and tickle my extensions

Later on I become Great Yellow Gentian
At this time I'm in another dimension
Waiting the time in the fall when I've lived all
Then I become the great Sunflower in the fall

When winter arrives, I'm barely now alive
This is when Camelia makes her debut
She is really now more alive leaves glisten
They've a glossy waxy shin and the blooms pristen

winter,summer, spring, and fall

First of all I am going to tell you a story about the four seasons,
winter summer spring and fall,

Its a story not to forget at all and it is easy to remember that
Fall is a season that likes it cool, the nice wind blowing as all the leaves make sounds as they hit the ground,

And Winter it's a season of snow with the frosty nicknames that everyone knows.

And Summer is the hotest season of all, bringing up the heat so much you wish it was still fall.

Now spring is the prettyest season I have seen, where everything is blooming and growing green. Its a season where all the birds start singing cause of the joy they have had with winter, summer, spring, and fall....

Spring Summer And Fall

From bright colors even the brightest blond turns grey.
Grown men now stand.
Were once young children did play.

 The once new cover.
Is now tattered and torn.
time has all but erased the oaths once proud men had sworn.

The field now overgrown still haunts memories of the blue and grey.
Old worn headstones markers of were they'll forever lay.
No bell to ring no voice shall call.
The ghosts of the past erased by spring summer and fall.

The old porch stands hidden by a overgrowth of vines.
Now blank are the boards that once were painted signs.
The blood followed swiftly from the wound of the past.
To forge a path to a time that could never last.

Gone is the tree that once stood so very tall.
Forgotten by time
So is the legend of spring summer and fall.

Healing Season

Autumn came this summer
on a cool winter's day
Then spring walked in behind her
Then spring soon danced away:

A flower grew beside her
from a freshly fallen pile of snow
And the petals fall onto the ground
shortly after the winds blows:

As quickly as the seasons change
so the same, time does pass
and the memory of frozen ground
is soon your bed of grass:

The time which a flower bares it's bloom
or clouds share their summer rain
Quickly passes with the shifting winds
As it guides away your pain:

My lover spoke just as a friend
As a stranger, then took my hand
As one beginning drew to another end
the setting sun made me understand:

The Earth is not that far around
The sun rises in the day
And as quickly as the lightning strikes
The storm can roll away.

Wildflowers

Standing out in a field alone, a little white flower named Daisy longed for someone to share her world.
One day a blue flower named Bachelor Button entered her world they became friends.
She knew by his name that he was not the propagating kind, but that didn’t stop their relationship she called him BB short for best bud.
The seasons of Spring & Summer they enjoyed the sun, laughed in the rain and held on fast in the Fall.
Winter came it was long and hard they were both covered in a blanket of snow, not knowing whether they would ever see each other again or even survive .The snow fell then came the ice, this went on for months.

The Sun shone brightly the first day of spring. A few days later warmth of the sun melted the snow, Daisy popped up .
I’ve been waiting days for you to come out, said BB, they both chanted hooray!
The snow was completely gone in a few days, the birds started building their nests , bugs were crawling around ,butterflies began to visit the two flowers. I wish there were more of us Daisy said, to BB.

They laughed as the sun and wind blew through their leaves. Then it started the sun and rain took turns until one morning the air & field was filled with the smell of flowers.

Daisy and BB looked at each other and asked what kind of flowers are these ? they’re not white like daisies they’re not blue like bachelor buttons. They did not know the birds and bugs carried the seeds from the two of them and the caterpillars buried them under the soil.
The seeds from the new flowers were then carried by the winds many miles away, they landed in fertilized gardens and flourished, although they faced danger everyday.
as they were called WEEDS ..
The Gardener pulls weeds out of the garden so they don’t choke the flowers, which cost a lot of money and require lots of maintenance.

However there was a Gardener who saw her friends spending hours weeding their garden , that they didn’t have enough time to admire and enjoy the labors of their love
So she set out to give a home to all the weeds ,she provided a place where they could fit in and multiply, they required no maintenance, rain provides their water .

The best part of all is their beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
Ask my granddaughter-- What are those flowers in the garden ?
She will answer "WILDFLOWERS " their parents were Daisy and BB

Season's Round

Summer sunshine in her hair
The Autumn moon in her eyes
Winter’s promise buried there
Hints of Spring therein lies

The Autumn moon in her eyes
Winter’s snow upon her skin
The seeds of Spring wait to rise
To field the Summer once again

Winter’s snow upon her skin
Spring flowers to grace her face
Summer’s vow to come again
Until Autumn takes its place

Spring flowers to grace her face
Summer’s sunshine in her hair
Autumn hints leave bare a trace
That Winter’s cold will follow there

The Storm

And the storm calls to me in ways you'll never understand
A gentle call that urges my soul forth
The lighting guiding a path for my feet to walk
Between the stones and ash of all that once was
I stand in the echoing silence of the rain
It drops down upon my skin like the blessing waters of heaven
Soothing me, lifting the weight from my body
I feel at once as if I am home
Standing amid two dimensions
Caught between two skies - here and there
The night wraping around me in warmth
The gentle wind lifting me off my feet
Drops from the clouded moon washing away my body
and I am left just a soul, an essence
The storm calls me forth from beneath my roof
Beckoning me into its depth
I stand among the reeds in the basin
They dance and sway as if welcoming me
And I sway with them back
Caught up in the power that charges the air
That threatens to sweep me away
If the ground will just loosen its hold
The thunder rumbles a low welcoming growl
And I get pleasently lost within it
I am so small compared to its vastness
I close my eyes and succumb to the skies wishes
Rising higher until my feet no longer touch the ground
My fingertips touch the liquid color of the stars
A sigh drifts from my lips
There is no need of thought to stay afloat
There is no demand to breathe in air
No crushing weight upon my chest
As my lungs struggle to survive
There are no struggles here
I make my bed on blackened clouds
And give in to the call
The storm has claimed me as its own
It was such a struggle to stay upon the ground
When the storm would call me home

Bouquets Of Spring

Up a country road Wisteria blooms
The soft lavender fragrant buds await
Easy sunlight gently touches blossoms
Sends wafing aromatic breeze thru gate

White Dogwood blooms spot multicolored woods
Gently lift and fall in soft spring air
Impressionistic Azalea blooms stood
Colorful ornaments on creek's bend fair

Narcissus stand in trim and neat rows
Except at homeplaces beside the road
Where they are free to send out young
For our rejoicing when spring has sprung

In the warm spring nature's bouquets abound
Sakura, Tulips short time are around

Megan's Hit

        MEGAN'S HIT
There on the deck, I took a practice swing
tormented in the possiblity--
then hope was dashed--I found no hope to bring
up to the plate, when Ump cried out, "Strike 3!"
I was the last to bat--in this last game--
just oh for three, my record said it all!
And in the dugout, faces all the same,
the looks of gloom! Just waiting for my fall!
I took my place, right up there to the plate.
Out on the mound, the picher grinned at me--
as if he hoped to make my swinging late,
or throw me one--I couldn't even see!
He'd walked a batter, waiting on first base,
to tie the score, if we'd get in the race!

                    II.

"No girl can hit!" I heard the catcher call,
and echoed from the bleachers was the same,
we made our stands, the umpire cried "Play ball!"
and then I vowed to get us in the game!
I gripped the bat, the windup came too fast!
As did the ball, but where it should have been!
"Strike one!" the umpire yelled at last--
The fastest ball that I have ever seen!
"She'll never swing!" the catchers words for me--
then threw the ball out to the pichers hand!
While out on first, my runner waits to see
if I can swing, or only make a stand!
Right in my face--the picher scouled a bit--
while I choked up--and readied for a hit!

                   III.

All set to hit--I made it then my dream!
and came the ball--I could not swing at that!
"Strike twoooo!" the umpire made it scream,
then said to me, "You've got to swing the bat!"
The bat it weighed a hundred pounds or so;
"She'll never swing," the pichers eyes did say,
With that he gave his very best, I know!
I glued my eyes--as it screamed straight my way!
I never saw the hitting of the ball!
but won't forget the cracking sound of it!
Nor know again the feeling of it all
of this my very most important hit!
The sound it made--that ev'ryone could hear--
a batters dream--but pichers' greatest fear!

                   IV.

The ball soared hard and high past second base!
then seemed to drop so slowly from above,
as quick as I could get us in the race,
I watched it bounce right off the fielders glove!
The tying run was just ahead of me!
Ole "Never-Steal" now ran like not before!
And right behind, fast as my feet could be
I gave my best! And then I gave some more!
The crowd gave out the seasons wildest plea!
As I yelled to the runner just ahead,
with all the grit that I could find in me,
"I'm going in! And if you stop--you're dead!"
Ole "Never Steal" was giving all he could
and on his heels--I made my promise good!

                V.

We saw the ball come by as rounding third!
Not once a hesitation in it all--
and as the umpire watched without a word--
he swept his arms, to make the tying call!
The score was tied--third baseman set to throw--
now ready at home plate, the catcher stood--
and through it all--my only thought was GO!
but if I did--I'd have to make it good!
I knew the ball was thrown down to home plate!
The catcher poised, and glued where he should be!
I had to slide, and heard the ball hit late!
"She's SAFE! She's SAFE!" my Daddy yelled to me!
Now layed to rest--our coaches greatest fear--
the only game we won--throughout the year!

like diamonds

two hits and i’m hanging off cliffs, listening to water

drip.

watching moss fall like snowflakes.

nothing holding my heels down but gravity, irrelevant to me.

the little girl exploring the ocean floor, the caves that once held entrancing treasures.

even tactile pain drives me into a gust of euphoria.

my heart beats (slower than it should), but the trees don’t mind.

the four shades of green blend to create a forest-

with each exhale, branches move in tandem.

and a salty tear falls from my eye,

reminiscent of what once was here.

Spring

I saw a sign of spring today
Bright flowers now in bloom,
People mowing their lawns
Cleaning off porches with a broom.

Bicycles going down the street
Crowds of children now at play,
Other's playing a game of ball
Oh, what a beautiful spring day.

Many are doing spring cleaning
Washing windows inside and out,
Some jusst sitting in a chair
Watching children run and shout.

The warm sun beating down
Soft brisk wind in your hair,
Makes you drift off in a dream
A sandy beach oh, your so there.

The night slowing comeing to an end
For tomorrow will be a another day,
Make plans of things to do in your mind
As you slowly lay and drift away.

The Backside of Killington Mountain

Killington Mountain, one of the largest Ski resorts in New England.
With its webbing of trails, dotted with colourful kaleidioscopic ski outfits;
racing to the Castle they call a Base Lodge.

My Cabin is atop a mountain across two valleys from Killington's backside
I can see the untamed, wild and free side of Mother Nature's: True being
Where deers have no fears, and the Bald Eagle soars Free

I once did a recue mission there, and when all were safe, I walked
Into the forrest of Nature, where mankind had never before intruded
I walked where the Deer, Bed. where the eaglets squawked for food

I saw the Black Bear awake; "Good Morning Mrs. Black Bear"she Yawned
And walked away.I heard the Evergreens giggle as melting snow ticked Pines
The Serenity,Tranquility, enveloped me in Nature's Wonder of the World.

LET IT RAIN

It's raining today - dreary it may be
The imagery of the raindrops in my view
Dripping ! In my brain I visualize
The dark clouds surrounding me
Thus I see - will there be sunlight
I look, I ponder! I watch and I surmise
the sun may peak in these predominant skies
Mesmerized - sun rays gleam in my eyes
Those beautiful hues - and yet the spectrum
The iris - that beautiful rainbow
It feeds my soul - I look at beauty
And thus blooms the flower - I know
It rained today and thus I say
The gardens grew - if you only knew
I woke - I had beautiful thoughts
Raindrops danced on my life this day
And yes! I saw a bud flourish petals
It's spring - and the rain doth bring
With a little help from the sun , my flower
Blooming in my head I visualize
Look what I saw when I looked at the skies
Imagery in my head, I thought
Imagine it - and the bird it may sing
Music to my ears - I listen - I see
That spring - it's really blessing me
Enlightened I saw the dead rose then grow
And I sit, I still ponder , it's roots I know
And the rose once posed- still life - of art
Prominent are the skies to make you wonder
                                    The rain might start!!!!!

My Wishes are Simple

My Wishes are Simple

My wishes are simple,
my desires few,

to gaze upon an ocean,
and marvel at a solitary drop of dew.

My wishes are simple,
my dreams not too grand,

to feel the waves teasing my tired feet,
with no footprints left in the cool, wet sand.

My wishes are simple,
my thoughts serenely gentle, calm,

my heart resting beneath a swaying palm,

healing my being, caressed by nature's soothing balm.

Thank heavens, the winter that bit is bygone

Thank heavens, the winter that bit is bygone.

Winter frost chilled gout-ed limbs, wrinkled
all crooked fingers severely knotted with revolting ink blue veins.
Movements became a luxury of room heaters.
Thank heavens, the winter that bit is gone !

Love and passion had gone low in profile
rigid against frigid cold-heart ed winter,
warmth had dulled down in tiny dots, unseen
Thank heavens for the winter begone!

The sober siblings, the purring cats and the bored puppies
now peer slowly out of shut window panes
in bright hopes of spotting long gone glowing brightness
They too sigh, thank heavens, the winter that bit is gone.

I can hear colors knocking at my door
fragrances slowly permeating air, faintly though
a warm ray of sun stroking my sleepy senses to rise and shine
Thank heavens my beloved spring is here.

The coming spring

I can touch buds on spring flowers as they open to greet the sun
Smell a sweet scent in the breeze, as the darkness starts to run

feel on my cheek ray's of the sun as life emerges from their bed
I taste the salt from my tears, GONE, is that what they said?

If come spring my time on earth, should be ended with one word
I will do my best for family, to teach reason and spread your word

How do I teach family of my knowledge, hope God will please employ
How can this man teach his family, when he has lost all hope and joy?

Can the only one on earth to love or share this sorrow with be you
Lost like falling leaves of spring, moving only when a cold wind blew

Realizing I'm caught between dying and dead just as these leaves
No happiness or joy just asking why, when, what or if I have to leave

Make good use of this man but, children dying take hope from this old boy
grand-child can't live, why should I survive without love, hope and joy?

Death is a thief of a child

"If spring is all the time I have to finish teaching what I know
I'll teach what I can of life to my family without shedding tears"

BLOSSOMS

spring showers-- amid the flowering plants a barren pot Sitting in the gleaming plush waiting room of a high profile doctor, she imagines herself as that flower pot of her terrace garden whose seeds failed to germinate. At this IVF and gynecology hospital she cannot help but notice the little to large baby bumps of expectant mothers all around her glowing with anticipated pride. Ah! the maternal ache in her empty life again fills her with a sudden sense of loneliness. gust of spring breeze-- tinkling of the wind chime in a silent home She thinks of the evenings spent alone in her beach facing pent house, all the while dreading the ones to follow. After three failed cycles of IVF, the las semen sample of her deceased husband is the straw of hope she is desperately clinging to. She taps her touch screen cell phone and longingly gazes into his loving, laughing eyes in the picture. Oh! How she longs to spend the rest of her life loving someone that so "him"! When he was diagnosed with a terminal illness they'd managed to store four samples for her conception just in case... And the worst fears came true. Now before proceeding for the final cycle she almost beseeches her lady doctor to ensure that all possible means of a success are employed correctly this time. The doctor smiles and assures her. Ready to endure all pains and procedures, she completes her treatment and returns home, a silent prayer in her heart at all times. blossoms sway-- the bee hovers on a sun kissed bud As if signifying anything, the long dormant seeds of her barren pot sprout. her heart fills with hope each day for the next month as she watches it grow rapidly with every sunrise. Yes, blossoms blooming marking the onset of spring. Spring in her garden and spring in her life, so the doctor confirms. Yesha Shah

DARK SKIES

The wind crept up - the skies ever so dark
Black, slick, clouds and calamity enters thy soul
Dreary! It chatters and limbs they fly
No sun upon thy face - beaming with hue
Those clouds they swarm in darkness
Rain - it pours - flooding the earth
Bewildered I look up at this blustering sky
The trees are dead, It's spring - yes death
Roses in the ground with the trickling raindrops
The April showers - You haven't a clue
True grit! The soil now nurtured
The roots - feeding on this phenomena
And yet when the sun shines soon
Day after day - trees will come to life
And roses in bloom- life after winter death
In awe I see this beautiful imagery
In my brain, as I see the pouring rain
My mind - I visualize - the beauty
Thus, why does it expose calamity?
Beauteous be the wonder in my eyes
And how I love those dark dreary skies
A rosebud in my teeth - I see
Is extraordinary and so is the tree
Let there be rain as it nurtures the soil
And with the chatter of the wind, let there be turmoil
Again in my brain, I can truly love this day
I see life in the rain that is pouring today.

Divine Shakespeare

He was born under a dreamy dancing star
On a beautiful spring night
And he left his heart's door ajar
For he never forgot that sight

He saw hatred, pain and scorn
And wished he wasn't born
He saw anger,sorrow,greed
And wanted another planet indeed

But then he smiled and said YES
To the spring sky, love and tenderness
Then he thought:I want to live
I want to forget and forgive

He said:Good night angels of death, good bye
You'll always be in my mind's eye,
Parting is such a sweet sorrow
But poetry, sun and rainbow are my tomorrow

Tohoku -- When Worlds Have Altered

On an early spring day, washed brilliant with clover
In the land of the sun, and sweet cherry blossom
A tremble, a rumble, that rattled the earth
Cracking open the spring day, like the devil's own plaything
Plates of dispute, on the edge of destruction
Beneath the sea’s surface…anger's wrath lies in waiting…

It came with no warning, …a mighty surge of horror
A tower of strength, to this tiny island flower
The harsh call of nature, came boldly from the shore
Relentless, the shaking, battering to the core
And altered the earth with a shattering shrill
Spilling despair, in a pillage of flurry
Killing the helpless, yet… leaving the courage

O’ land, of gentle people, wearing dignity’s expression
Those from afar, watched on with compassion
We gasped, then we cried, yet are awed with impressions
How hands helping hands, and courage ensued
Kind hearts, claimed the bruised, and calmed the confused
You banded together…helping each another,
Balance of elders, will hold you forever..
Grace under fire…. with honor we brand you
You raise up the spirit with hands of the valiant
Respect you have earned and honor you wear
The sun keeps on rising…..and will shine ever more

Face To Face With Death

The day I met the airplane face to face
Just going out to work awhile that day
Never knew I could be meeting death's race
Working for Census Bureau_month of May

Just going out to work awhile that day
Client list in hand maps to draw that's grand
Working for Census Bureau__month of May
Lovely drive early spring __last stand

Client list in hand maps to draw that's grand
Never thought that this could be last journey
Lovely drive early spring blooms__last stand?
Didn't know God had my life in hand_not on gurney

Never thought that this could be last journey
But when that airplane I met on a curve
Didn't know God had my life in hand_not on gurney

But when that airplane I met on a curve
Never knew that I could be meeting death's race
Pilot out window motion_already swerve
The day I met the airplane face to face...

Last Sonnet

Hither I stand, at crossroads,
And then I gaze, at the yonder end-
The vague horizon from where I began;
And all that I may ever deem
Is that- my days
Have been a waken dream.

Hither I stand, at the edge of my dream;
Then I wonder, at the depth of my trance-
An adventurous journey through the wondrous woods;
An idyllic stroll through the vicissitudinous meadow;
And from the final station as I depart,
All that I can ever say, is that
Perpetuation has been a rouge
Of fleeting phases of my life.

Soy Sauce Spills

Soy sauce drains
Into the white, clustered rice
Stepped on…
spills . . .
Soy sauce taints
The whiteness of the grain
It slips out of my hands
No use...no point in crying out in rage
Though I was starving,
I'll just eat another thing and start on a new page

I'm hungry like a swine
I wish I can earn back my snack!
I'm as angry as a bull
I'm about ready to attack! Attack!
Soy sauce packages
Fall unto the dirty school ground
Stepped on
By bratty, conceited teens
They really need to eat their greens
Instead of junkfood and pizza
They should drink some water
Instead of drinking sugary drinks or
 Sucking on popsicles obnoxiously
Why did the soy sauce spill? Seriously....

Spring

A little bit confused was beautiful Spring,
She had to choose for life a bridegroom.
Who will give her a wedding ring?
Three men wanted to be her happy and bloom.

March, April and May vied with each other.
About their great love they quietly talked.
April was for Spring like a brother,
With March she just often liked to walk.

Timid March gave her beautiful primroses,
Out of snowdrops he made a wreath,
He didn’t want to know any losses,
He promised her the whole world’s wealth.

Delicate and sweet was April.
He gave her a necklace of brilliant drops.
The life with him could be stable, - he said,
She’d be rich and would get good crops.

A wonderful May pleaded Spring:
You are my love! Take my wedding ring!
Be quick, Spring! Be my wife!
We’d be happy together the whole life.

And Spring trusted the handsome May.
Without any delay she sewed the white dress,
For the veil she took the apples blossoms.
That was her best and the happiest day.

The whole world was whirling in the dance.
May was getting married with Spring!
The Earth was full of love and romance,
Happiness to all this marriage would bring.

Ode: to the Nymph

SHE floats in grace, like one in love
     with love itself and all that’s lush;
and when the mythic sprites above
unloose her from the morning's blush,
she descends like the milk-white dove
with the notes of a singing thrush.

With golden locks, as light as air,
and liquid, limpid eyes most blue,
none is like her or can compare
to her beauty and lovely hue
which lift the humble souls that dare
come to her for her balmy dew.

As cloud and rain Nymph and a muse
with the nimbused crest of a saint
which no man can therefore refuse
or with mean words tarnish or taint,--
then let all Creatures freely choose
     to honor her without constraint.

March brushes past us, in its blustery haste

And we, who stand where Winter’s chill once laid waste,

Around cold Winter’s girth, warm Spring wraps its mirth.

We know, after every death, there is rebirth.

Suddenly the Storm

Suddenly the Storm
      by Amy Swanson

Beautiful spring day!
     Warm wind so soft
           playfully
               lovingly
                     kisses my cheek

Dancing breeze
      quite generous with your touch

you send the fallen leaves to play

                     flying wild
like children in an outdoor race

*then quickly*

sunshine sky darkens, the rains begin...

how could I know
       so soon you would turn

maliciously

                 violently

                                 cruel.

Wind - you grew quite pompous
        puffed yourself up so

                        Gone - the gentle breeze
                           that touched my heart

                     'til
    gathering yourself together

          --- ever faster ---

rip-roaring, threatening, all within your path

Gray sky - you accommodate
        destructive ego

                    once gentle wind
                        now spirals, uncontrolled,
                               whirling, blackened cyclone
                                     no longer at play...

you seek only to devour.

Those who see you shake
       terrible capabilites you now possess
              in your anger
feverishly pushing all down on their knees
to worship you in fear and trembling...
expecting all to cower in their homes.

But...

          you are only wind.

Vain and proud, one thing you forget;
     you ride
           *you twist*
                   today's air currents

   (and take such full advantage)

        but only for a moment.

Just as suddenly
       reduced to what you were...

a simple slight spring breeze before the rains

(debris scattered around you from your tantrum)

                                          silently awaiting -

another day
another place...

you bide your time so well
destructive cycle

                                             *perverting Mother Nature's precious gift*

until the moment you arise once more

     so large, full of yourself

             uninvited, some distant spring day...

sweet, chiding wind, at first loving and playful

then suddenly

                           the storm.

When The Tides Of Life Roll

When The Tides Of Life Roll
(Anaphora)

When morn awakes by the bluebirds trill
When the robin songs echo on the hill
When the tides of life run against you
When your dream rainbow is shining through
When again the dim hope lamp burns
When hopeful once again world peace returns
When crazy foolish tensions fill the day
When it is time to pause and pray
When the winter wiped away its frozen gloom
When again the glorious spring flowers bloom
When spring is showing all it’s glory
When nature is telling it’s timeless story
When your love is held by a strong cord
When your faith is blessed by the Lord
When your guiding light does forever stay
When you shall walk the glorified way
When spring flowers bloom so bright and gay
When sunshine beauty blesses summers way
When autumn struts proudly across the land
When everything looks so colorful and grand
When the tides of life roll do not grieve
When you know that heaven provides all the need

Winter Exits

In the beginning where buds lifts man’s hearts beyond those of the dismal dark, there is a light in the life of each being and plant that grows while the season extends beyond the grave of winter. Life evolves through time, crafting its own existence within the delight of the sun, the rays that lift us living things over the darkness, brings joy to the existence of our pluming start. The placement of such hearts fires up the eyes of tranquility and burns the futility of lovely bright enriching beauty. Life, such a novelty within the evolution, a great vastness of desire to produce a height of clearly immaculate formation of life beyond the cold hard grasps of winter. Now life has been warmed and graced with harmony and peace, with a love that tenderness brings worshipful charisma of living things.

the cold winter leaves with the last snow… spring buds glisten

First Day of Spring

Written October 26, 2013

Love cries out from a songbird
On the first day of spring
And all the flowers bloom in the rain
And sunshine reigns
Over every boy and every girl
In this town that's driving me insane

On the first day of spring
The beginning of the end
Blue skies pulling me in
Along with all my friends
Rain shields the sun again

Alone in my room
I rescind
To the deepest depths of my soul
To sew back shut a hole
That will make me whole

I'm melting to the permafrost
How I feel so lost
In the world I used to call my own
Now I feel so alone
Without a house to call my home

Give Myself a Mental Shake

These days my mind is a blank page.
This dreary weather offers no inspiration.
I dream of sun and warm sand on toes
And having fun in a far off destination.

I need some heat in my body and soul.
Someone to revive the spirit within me.
Too long I've lived under these overcast skies.
I long for the spring to set my heart free.

I wish for romance to blossom in spring.
To renew my soul with the budding new season.
It's time for some changes in life and attitude.
I've let this gloomy weather affect my reason.

A mental shake I will give myself,
No longer blame the weather for the state of my mind.
Around the corner spring is waiting for me
And just maybe a special someone, I will find.

My writing has been on a shelf for days now.
The pen left idle with nothing to do
But I need to dust it off and focus my mind
On lifting my spirits, start writing anew.

One Bold Spring Day

One day of spring in February
Jonquils send forth their blooms
Found warm coat unnecessary
Wore warm air draped costumes

Sky of sky-blue satin sports dots
Of gauzie dotted swiss
Great this experience snapshots
A day to reminisce

When tomorrow's winter's air cold
Blows 'pon my northern door
One day of spring so very bold
I'll remember once more

Only Time Will Tell

Spring has been trying to appear this whole winter with warm days interspersed with freezing cold..Spring plants started to bloom in December with blossoms freezing and turning brown..In this spot on a hillside next to a swift running creek, frost appears with the slightest drop in temperature turning those lovely buds and blossoms brown..The beauty that is spring's finest hour has been tempered to a few spraggly blossoms on this hillside..The spring green of the trees has come alive in the last few days adorning my weary eyes with beauty..That wonderful green interspersed with white of a few blossoms..

willow's spring green leaves swayed by the cold north west breeze.. bird pecks frozen bath
Spring has sprung but winter still trys to linger chilling and killing the pear crop and the blueberries that have formed..Will it just be a slight thinning or will it totally wipe out this fall's fruits?...Only time will tell...

Spring is knocking on the door
Why u don’t open for the joy
spring is knocking on your heart
Why You don’t embrace
this beauty- on the go
that blossom is not for a long
As the early buds of spring
and yarn birds on string
Spring is tweeting like a bird
Why u don’t swing
  in a song
In a cheers
Of the nature in a dance
 this blooming
 is not for a long
So fill the cup

Battlefields of Discontented Dreams

Another year has marched out of my life.
A crusading warrior making his way back home,
Leaving bloody battlefields in his wake.
Trampled valleys where dreams once stood.

In the beginning, the year tiptoed in,
Softly sprinkling crystallized wishes.
Ideas, floating like a fine dusting of snow,
Forming a light covering on my bed of anticipation.

In swept the Ides of Spring laden with promises.
Storms tossing my wants in a turbulent sea of needs.
I planted my seeds with the expectancy of progression,
Hoping to find nourishment for my battered soul.

Summer scorched a path through my life
Bringing passion and potential to my fertile soil
Growing, thriving, reaching for the budding of fulfillment
Hopes alive, green and fresh, standing tall against adversity.

Autumn flew in on the winds of a changeling,
Taking the abundance and leaving a barren field.
Stripped of optimism, I wander in the fields of despair,
Wondering where my footpath led me astray.

Yes wicked winter with your freezing rains.
You beat against me, leaving blisters in your wake.
But Spring will return, of this I am certain,
Bringing with it the possibilities of contentment.

What Love is All About

Falling in love, then parting away
I’ve been repeating such relationships
Examining my memories thoroughly
I would seek sweet shadows
I can taste the sweetness of the past
Although you are no longer with me
I’ll be alright
If I shut my eyes
I believe
I believe I will see unchanging love
When you’ve gathered the light of spring make the flowers bloom
Gaze at me in the summer, where the moon floats atop the sea
Warm the autumn winds
As well as the winter snows with your style
Four seasons with your love
Once again
Promises based on desire alone
Will fade with tone
Can you feel me underneath your skin?
Considering that we love each other so,
As long as we believe that, yes….
No matter how far away you may be
Come for me on a night when the spring flowers slumber
Leave a message on the summer beach
Warm the autumn rain & winter tears
With your unembellished love
Four seasons with your love
Within my dreams
Let us hold the flow of time in our hearts just the way it is
The days the two of us spent together will soon be a memory
Even love & dreams will be forgotten, left behind
Warm them, no matter what day it is
Four season’s with your love
Four scene, four four seasons
Deep within my heart
Four scenes, I’ll be alright
Four scenes, four four seasons
Four scene, stay with me...

BACKSTREETS OF PARIS - Monsieur L'Vampyre

BACKSTREETS OF PARIS - MONSIEUR L'VAMPYRE
One spring and sunny day I set my sight
behind my darkened lenses, feigning night,
so I might stroll in my own way
and see what's life in light of day,
my thread put to my back, I travelled light;

when Paris comes to all its greenery,
there's not a sight that means so much to me
as flowers holding to the hair
of Mademoiselles out ev'rywhere,
and laughing children, that's how life should be.

The beat of Paris leads a steady pace
and if you stop, you're holding up the race
there's not enough time in a day
to walk all of Champs Elysees
and so you miss the smile of ev'ry face.

But there are places few would care to go
with streets so narrow, darkness is the glow,
where yesterday's not in the past,
but here and now, and here to last,
with cobble stones laid many years ago;

a world of silence, far from natures care,
a place of echoes, snapping here to there;
the signs of life flow past your feet
and to the Seine, just down the street,
but leaves its scent, it's with you ev'rywhere.

This is a time, more than a place to be,
the soul of Paris few can ever see,
the very secrets of her heart,
where light of Paris had its start,
and left here for the very likes of me.

You hear her whisper in the mid of day,
or you might hear a concertina play,
but all that's Paris surely lies
right here for you before your eyes,
and it's the dream Parisians want to stay.

Now I Am Free from My Step-parent

A life of beauty and happiness denied, of innocence
smothered like a flame, I have always lived; but when
I hear your lovely voice, my Lisa--

now I am free.

I was dead before I even entered into this world, a
place cruel and without feeling, cruel and without
the love and understanding I finally know in the rich
harmonies of your voice, my Lisa--

which sets me free.

Before I could even hope to bloom like a sensual
flower caught breathless and naked in the first, rainy
sunbeams of spring a great evil--the threatening,
inner hostility of a dark figure overflowing with
bigotry--transformed me into a joyless

waste of ashes.

From that terrible moment on I fought all the ugly
and horrible assaults as his unwilling possession, a
gladiator in the arena of his constant abuse and
myriad threats, subject to his occasional hostile
looks from

across the dinner table.

But when I hear your voice and imagine its tender-
ness and compassion as an unearned gift meant for
me despite him and my child-like self-loathing:

I feel the love and self-worth denied me, taken from
me simply because it was too easy to not rape from
a child whose only fault was that he was born

defenseless and
white.

O Lisa! Because of the music of your lovely voice--
now I am free! Free from my years as a gladiator in
the arena of his constant abuse and attacks;

free to bloom like a sensual flower caught breathless
and naked in the first, rainy sunbeams

of Spring again!

Trusting Spring

I don't have time to watch it more
- the crooked clock of ironed past -
I don't believe I can feel spring
Unless I grab your hand and jump

Together in the blossom maze
Perhaps we bring ourselves alive
In poison-free redwoods up north
And secret Jacaranda wonders.

If eyes don't open - I understand
You don't need them to see our Heaven
But bear with me for falling seconds
And hope cocoons will burst and open

I sprout again through solid pavement
Against the reconstruction site
And I do know I can bring spring
Together with your warmth from Heaven.

Lull

Icy sidewalks and frozen roads
Crisp winter air
A peaceful sleep
The wind whispers thoughts of spring
Soon forgotten with icy shivers
Hibernation now

We awake to find a peaceful city
Industry forgets itself
Men at work adhere to silence
Ice lays claim
Our place in the world is frozen

Animals come out to eat
Briefly seen by scarce rays of sunshine
Darkness shrouds the short and bitter days
Cloudy skies and rosy cheeks
Lulling moments that are necessary
Giving contrast to a beautiful spring
Coming closer everyday

Our Song Unsung

"There is something coming over me"
Love in everything_its amazing
Must be spring has pronounced decree
Great romance aflame blazing
All the birds, crickets in song praising
Memories surfing corners of my mind
The spring of my life when we were young
The young love that we have left behind
Young love amazing, all reason to wind flung
Oh! For that spring again, our song unsung

My Madness, Me

My Madness, Me...

Confined by this straight-jacket,
strapped in, numb and dumbed,
a washed-out, has-been, also-ran,

body, eyes, the equilibrium of mind,
rattling like stones in an old tin-can.

Still, I am,

I am,

and I am unchained,

my dreams taking flight, soaring,
above these claustrophobic walls,
of synapses, and dungeons of stone,

swooping through green valleys,
taking a detour to savour the joys,

soaked in torrential, evergreen memories,
of a younger man, with passion in his bone.

I am.

My wings unclipped, unshackled, free,

I am, and though I am unable to see,

I am.

At long last,

me...

Sunrise and Sunset contest

Driving to work on a spring day,
A masterpiece is painted with a tint of sun ray,
    On the parkway, going fast
Colors from heaven I seem to pass,
Yellows and blues bring joy I cannot refuse,
Oranges and white, make my travels bright,
I can taste the beginning of the dawn,
Knowing there’s purpose for all that have been born,
Fire ignites while the world arises,
Preparing me for the days surprises,
Refreshed and awaken,
By the glory that I see,
Each layer of color
Whispers to me,
Senses are keen,
As the sky glistens and gleans,
Just another reminder that we were not made to be machines.
Driving home from work on a spring night,
Overwhelmed by an artist’s delight,
On the parkway, going fast
When suddenly my heart can barely grasp,
Colors from God that seem to consume,
Any trace of my day that brought me gloom,
Penetrating purples, pinks and reds,
Peirce my soul, as my eyes are fed,
            If angels were finger painting,
The sky would be their canvas,
A gift from the divine to remind us of his bliss,
Cherry blossoms reflect the evening sky,
As the long day says its goodbyes,
The darkest blues of the deepest sea,
Gently remind me that I am free.

Once Again Spring

Promised myself, today would be a goodie On a scale of good to bad Some days are diamonds, some days are stone Yesterday wasn't as good as I've had So many things can turn it around That really seem unimportant Like cheery hellos from neighbours and friends Small things are just reinforcement For life to turn out the way you envisioned Is up to each one of us it seems To choose the right path and stay on the track The result will be sugar and cream That's not to say there won't be some times The choice won't be yours to make Those days are common and unavoidable Just remember a deep breath to take They're usually only momentary glitches In our everyday manner of things Just try to remember to keep a positive outlook Won't be long till it's once again spring © Jack Ellison 2014

Whisper

Whisper.

Let us whisper you and I
In a dark little corner and no candle light.

W'll wait until dawn and watch the sunrise.
Then catch a gentle breeze or watch a fading star.

We pick some flowers and catch a butterfly

We cross a small stream, sparkling water
catches the corner of your eyes.

We make a sailing boat from paper then
write a little song.

Soon will be breakfast, then at dinner w'll say a prayer,
And at night time w'll light a fire, and then we retire.

Distant African Nights

Those Distant African Nights...

1.

The shadows swayed in your candlelit room,

a cool breeze teasing your bare back,

streaks of lightning forked in the Johannesburg night,

as my hands stroked your hair,

kissing your soft mouth,

holding you,

ever so tight.

2.

You whispered that you loved me,

and I kept silent,

the rain fell,
shadows danced,
thunder rolled,

the breeze teased your naked back,

you whispered that you loved me,
as my lips found yours,

the rain washed over our tender nights,

lightning and candlelight,

etching poems on your burnished skin,

yet,

a fear gnawed at me,

deep within.

3.

We parted ways,
and you could never forgive me, you said,

now, after numberless thunderstorms,

the rain that falls,

echo the countless tears that I have shed.

4.

You are long gone,

far away,

happy, I pray,

yet the memories persist,

those precious moments shall never,
ever,

like the Jo'burg rains,
trickle away,

and I wish you well,
for loving me as you did,

for it was I who was not worthy,

then,

and it is I who is not worthy,

now...

5.

You were always true,

it was I who always,

always,

refused to,

to give myself,

completely to you.

Life Is Like

Life is like a warm summer day;
Full of obstacles and delay.
Like is like a summer past;
No single moment will ever last.
Life is like some winter snows;
It has its high points and its lows.
Life is like a winter sky;
Beautiful, until the day you die.
Life is like an autumn wind;
Chilling you through 'til the end.
Life is like an autumn moon;
Foretelling of something coming soon.
Life is like a spring rain;
Giving you something to gain.
Life is like a spring child;
Always smiling, always wild.
Life is short,
So live it tall
And God will see
You through it all.

Your Whisper

You whispered in my ear,
a breathy secret, hushed.

“I love you”, you murmured.

I said nothing,
lost, in your arms,
I found a home. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
I said nothing,
lost in my thoughts,
I found peace. At last.

“I love you”, you said,
words failed me then.

They still do.

My very first love

The very first blossom of spring
Is an early gift that summer will bring

The very first shower that falls
Is an answer to a parched earth’s calls

The very first castles of cumulus high
Cruises the sea of a blue desert sky

The very first swallow that sews tattered cloud
Is met by a buffet of a flying ant crowd

The very first day that I looked upon you
I heard Cupid’s chuckle as my heart was pierced through

The very first kiss that I stole full of doubt
Was answered by rain from your love’s soft rich cloud

The very first kiss held the promise of spring
A promise of summer that your love would bring

In The Autumn of My Years

Memories linger melancholy as I approach the bridge to the Gardens de Sol. A picture forms in my weary mind; Just a mere shadowed mirage, like an old faded photograph in a heart shaped locket kept near my soul centre for days, weeks and decades…. while fall winds crooning blue zephyrs frigid, incantations upon the once verdant meadows where the fawns grazed and wild horses pranced so breezy carefree on fine spring days.... I whirled and twirled , a carefree dance on patches of clover and dandelions in the spring of my youth Reveling joie de vivre of sun Sol warming skin and soul pink I remember our long, meandering walks in a picture perfect rose garden scented with redolent pines and aromatic wild flowers we conversed for hours, my hand in yours thrilling at your every word infatuated by a fervent touch You, idly picking petals off a rose; the deep timbre of your delicious laugh resounding joy to my acquiescent ears as I cavorted playfully in the garden’s fountain until lengthening shadows quilted the path with reluctant to leave, sun beams of a late summer afternoon And afterwards, in twilight violet sky; intimate moments by a blazing fire, silent music of our hearts thrumming a lovers sonata while you kissed me; gold specked brown orbs, so pleasurable and beguiling, warming my soul full of tomorrows promise and forgotten yesterdays Now, as I picture this quixotic drama rehearsed again and again one solitary tear slowly trails down and comes to rest on lines that were not there yesterday….. Dead cornflake leaves crunch under my feet as I walk the very same bridged pathway to the garden alone my only audience a solitary prickly cactus in the autumn of my years.......

Spring Showers

when earth cries
its tears fall upon us
not tears of sadness, really
tears to cleanse the horror
that it has seen that year
to wash away the pain
and the blood that has stained its surface
a revival
so it can last one more year
the ugly must be swept away
so the beauty can be seen
or else we might not notice
amazing
we might only notice
fear
so the bad must be swept away
so the good can return
so the showers must fall
so the flowers will bloom

fists ball up from risk to care

half is seeing, the other believing
eyes align and beats will sync
eyes a line for heat to sink
taken quickly for a fall
lovers stroll through memories' hall
echoes stir sight and scent
my senses flight keeps suspense
until logic teaches what it meant
all good things come to an end
summer lighting longer days
more hours to burn for lovers lay
precious tokens we hope to stay

spring into action to save those astray
a few more years can cost a pay

perhaps tomorrow will be okay
years can fly like clouds in sky
feelings revealing what to decide
and just like that were back to try
to love the same until we die

Reeling, in pleasure
Selling, our leisure
Rolling, in great measure
This is big pleasure
O, I love this season
It's spring,
This is the reason...

Happiness Surrounds Me

Happy that I live but more,
That the sky is bright blue.
Happy for summer roses after rain,
And for spring glimmers and dew.

Happy for sunsets and warm days,
And for rain that turns to snow.
Happy trees grow green leaves,
And I get to see flowers grow.

Happy that I more than see,
That whether happy or sad,
Life is luminous and amazingly beautiful,
Now of this, I'm most grateful and glad.

Night Is Coming

Night is coming
Even though it already looks and feels of night
It isn't here yet
Gray veil covers the sky
Rain plays its sad tune
But pink flowers contrast green on Japanese Magnolia

Night is coming
Color blind person would not be able to see
The green leaves that are in contrast to the pink
Nor could they see the contrast between the white and green on the Bradford Pear

Night is coming
Rain increases it rhythm, the grayness in the forest deepens
A heaviness weighs upon my body making it uncomfortable to breath
The rain washes the pollen away for right now

Night is coming
Colorblindness would be a disadvantage for a person in many ways
Some of the beauty of spring would be lost
But they would probably notice shape and design more than someone who sees color

Night is coming
When the darkness covers over me then I won't be able to see how to write
This would be a great disadvantage in accomplishing finishing this work
The yellow green or banana yellow yard light has come on it light radiates outward
In the distance a very large tree reaches upward skeletal but has few spring green
tiny leaves that contrast the gray sky.
If I were color blind I would not see that.

Dross

As the sun filters through branches
Brown crackled blooms exposed
No longer hidden by bright blossoms
Which spring had just transposed

The sunlight's angle is now changed
Revealing hidden parts
Only the dross is bad_ grotesque
Secrets deep in one's heart

A Season's Dance

Bare,
Yet fair,
None can compare.
To the nude silver branches and barren expanses,
That the cool of winter doth bring.
Unless you equate the way the birds sing,
In the start of the fresh, blooming spring.
Or perhaps the warm air,
Filled with crickets’ prayer,
That’s found only in the summer’s afternoon glare.
But then there is the time of the harvest,
With leaves like the paint on the palette of an artist.
Such tender, splendor indeed, in each season is found,
For in Nature, beauty truly doth rise and abound.

Sun and Rain

The sun came out for a little while

On a somewhat gloomy day

There's more rain to the south of us

which may just head our way

But the flowers and bushes, the trees and the like

Are enjoying the water that fell

They're nourished by the H2O

their green leaves show the tell

A rainbow stretched across the sky

As the sun began to set

And with sunshine in the forecast

On one thing you sure can bet

That tomorrow morning you'll hear a voice

Mumbling in the garden

For the weeds, they grow here also

Without regret or pardon

So the cycle of summer now begins

It's march toward the autumn

Then winter covers all the land

Until spring begins to thaw them

Then the flowers and trees, bushes and the like

Will spring to life once more

The sun will warm the Earth right up

And the rain will once again pour

Spring-season contest-

Mosquitoes breed in stale, stagnant water.
                                Rain drenches the hidden seeds.
                                     Earth awakens from sleep.

Birds scavenger food from freshly tilled soil.
The days warm, the night brings chills.
                                       Mother nature is pleased.

The days grown longer, ready for climax.
                                             Pollination begins
                                           A new life cycle comes.

Ghosts of South Dakota part 3

There were seven Indian Government schools. All built alike. The
one I'm writing about is Spring Creek. He Dog, Soldier Creek and White River,
Grass Mountain, Two Kettle, and Black Pipe were the other schools. The
Headquarters for these schools was at Rosebud, South Dakota.
On some summer evenings we were able to talk our mothers into
hiking to the lookout tower. We followed the ankle deep sandy trail road to the
cliff north of the school., A canyon lay at the foot of the tower but we climbed the
bluff. I don't know why we didn't explore the canyon unless it seemed dark and
sinister. The footing was better once we reached the summit. The closer we got
to the tower the taller it grew and standing at the foot of the steps looking up was
easier than getting to the top and looking down. My mother didn't usually make it
to the top because she didn't like heights. But she didn't mind being left behind
this time. We never could get into the building at the top because it was locked,
but we could climb the steps to the very last one. Even my little sister managed
to elude mom and followed us to the top.
From the bluff we could look down on the garden. My aunt grew a
huge garden and canned the produce for the hot meals served the school
children. We kids didn't work in the garden very often, but we looked for the arrow
heads and fossils. Which, I suspect the adults probably considered the best
place for us.
At the end of the road, living in shack, was Old Lady Grease. I have a
vague recollection of seeing her. Tiny, frail, wrinkled and gray headed is all I can
remember.
In spring and fall we were in school in Kansas.
It's Christmas now. Cold and usually snowy. We were in a winter
wonder land.
I'm standing at the fire escape window. The ghostly pale full moon is
illuminating the naked arms of the trees as they shiver in the wind, swaying to
and fro as if dancers in a ballet. I listen to the winter sounds. The frigid air
enhances their sharpness. The ax's thud echoes up the canyon as one of the
Indians across the river chops another supply of wood. One of his peers beats
on the drum. It is one-thirty a. m. but the thin walls of the tents do not keep the
cold out. Day or night this chore must be attended to for survival.

Nature Spring

What is going on twigs of trees!
Stillness and tranquility of nature
Twitter of birds, sense of life
Silent Love
Away from industrial screens,
Malicious false.
Farm life
Rich language
Nature.
Human greed
Dragging man to deprivation
From his ancient pure inherent nature of life
To jails made of concrete, rush, and hardship.
Is that civilization and progress?

A Moment of Hope The Invisible Man 30

Sometimes I have the courage to think of the things that made me what I am today,
My memory takes me back to terrible things far away far off into my bitter past,
My mind like a maze of dirty black alleys that smell of waste, loss and disgust,
The losses, the drink ripped away, not happy until it was all gone respect as well.

Invisible thinks of a garden where roses clustered with lilies scent on the breeze,
Bees found stores of honey in the petals of a thousand and one different flowers,
Lovers walked hand in hand along its winding path a beautiful dream of the man,
Bright with the embroidery of nature where children played in new myrtle flowers,

As Invisible thinks of this garden it is neglected but flowers can grow with weeds,
It could put a smile upon his face, a face that had never known any joy recently,
He hopes a gardener can covert this garden get rid of ruined waste, back into Eden,
Tending all the beautiful flowers that spring up with the weeds and smell gladness.

If he helped the gardener in his quest a hand might hold his and guide him through,
Maybe a hand would go around his waist to support him as well as guide his hand,
Dare he wish that the guiding hand and the support would be his angel from heaven,
A dear person to help him clear his garden and walk down the winding path as lovers.

An angel that would smile at him maybe hold his hand and squeeze it so very gently,
Would the angel talk to him and tell him that one day they would be together again,
Her beautiful grace shining warmly as she looks up to him, to her he is her hero,
Not a drunken mess that cannot cope, not a dirty vagrant, but her knight her love.

The tenderness of this beautiful scene in his poisoned mind became real he smiled,
He grinned as she sat down next to him as close a she could get then wriggled closer,
Warmth from her body not only warmed him but gave hope this what he has waited for,
She whispered sweetly she loved him and would be waiting for him and they kissed.

Invisible woke with a start and was she not by his side, was she ever with him,
A dream another heart wrenching let down and how could he have dreamed the dream,
It was so real he still felt the warmth, the impression of her hand holding his,
But it must have been a dream his own mind conspired to deliver the hardest blow.

Lost in a grief so deep, his loneliness complete he talks to Sam his imaginary friend.

These days get worse Sam they really do please help me,
I need to change but I need my drink more what can I do,
But I need to change so desperately Sam can you help?
My world has cracked and I've fallen into the crack,
But what I don't understand Sam that I was once good,
If I had any courage Sam I would be laying in my coffin,
Why does life drag you along with it I don't want to go,
Just a bit of icing on my cake Sam it is freezing cold,
Did you know this is where I was brought up my friend,
Did you know that most of the people that walk past I knew,
Sam! I know many of there people but they don't know me,
Why do they all walk past I wish somebody would help,
Maybe when I have drunk more cider I might feel better Sam,
I can remember being happy but not what being happy is like,

As Invisible sits drinking shoppers give him a wide berth and they look at him with hate.

These people Sam they look at me as if I have hurt them,
The people they are not our sort of people they hate me,
Has the world changed like I have but in opposite ways,
My life is full of sorrow drunkenness and dreams Sam,
Old sorrows wont go away new sorrows should take over,
So we have to face both the old and the new that's bad,
At night I try to close my drunken eyes it all returns,
Sam is that the same as you can you close your eyes,
Can you remember the valleys Sam the ones we used to play,
When we ran about all day Sam in the sun rolling in grass,
The old stream that twisted and turned, it had lost its way,
Floating lolly sticks watching them bounce away on ripples,
Buying bangers in November and throwing them into the water,
What I wouldn't do to go back for just a couple of hours Sam,
Just to feel the innocence and try to bring it back to now,
To enjoy what there is to enjoy and maybe get better Sam,
But that will never happen Sam we are lost on an island,
A well populated island but an island all the same Sam,
People are not like ships they don't bother to rescue people,
They just walk around or just walk away all the nice ones gone,
I remember my school Sam it's now been knocked down and left,
It has all gone, all gone no primroses in spring or bluebells,
Do you remember Sam the bluebells used to nod in the wind,
But they have all been built on, whats the use in talking,
Nothing changes from bad to good Sam remember that, eh Sam,

Still drinking his cider tears well into his eyes his nose runs and begins to quietly
to sob. He sits on the shopping parade seat, shaking as he sobs. His throat has a lump
in it so he stops talking to Sam. Invisible sinks his wet face into his overcoat
hides his misery from the people that walk past he just sat there lost and confused. His
greatest sadness an angel paid a visit to the maze of dirty black alleys that smell of waste,
loss and disgust,

As winter blows its last short breath

as winter blows its last short breath
to try and steal the candles’ warm small flame
to try and stop the light it casts
the inevitable flame of earlier sun
fading in the spray of blossoms
as frostless grass blushes greenly jealously
but as it blows the flame out
the party starts
and children laugh in warmer light
as the promise of fruit and fun
birthday cake of joy and sun
lies in the pink carpet under the apricot trees
and the birds burble forth in uncontrollable mirth
as their brothers return from far away
and as the new born flowers cry
tears of dewdrops
the bluer sky builds castles and dragons high
with the present of early raindrops
and as the winter slinks away
to its frosty lair where it will stay
the joy of life reveals movement and light
in the reflection of the bee’s purposeful flight
everything fresh and made anew
on a crisp lawn full of sparkling dew
everything new and very fresh
as spring has covered dry bones with flesh

True Exquisiteness

Spring with its flowers
Brightens life with many smiles.
Bringing fragrant pleasures.
Decorating country roads for miles.
Man and bees enjoying there, beguiles.

Likewise, comes spring showering.
Delighting a little child.
Umbrellas with giggles, and singing
Simplicity and happiness, whiled.
Inviting the strong and the mild.

The mountain drizzles echo.
Valleys and wetlands drink.
Life springs forth all aglow.
Coloring life with nature in sync.
Pastel yellows, lavenders, and pink.

Spring with all of its newness.
Exciting the young and the old.
Winter accepts a warm caress.
Ageless glory spring seasons unfold.
True exquisiteness, I love to behold.

Seed of Birth

Moments to Reflect
Seed of Birth
After a summer shower I watch the wonders unfold Gods truth is being shown. His love for all shall be known to all who have eyes that can see. The miracle of life that is a delight to behold can be seen in a drop of rain on the end of a leaf. Sparkling like a diamond in the light, more precious than gold, a secret is told. The water of life, without it we cannot go on the earth would be has dry has a bone. A desert: a waste land as hot as Hades and not fit to be called home. The water of life He is known.
The air so sweet and clean the breath of life He has been called. A blessing from the father it is a Gift given to us all. When the air can been seen it is unclean and in this state I call it satans breathe, oh so foul and within it only death can be found.
Flower and trees, grass that is so green that there is not any artist in the world that could paint a more beautiful scene. Concrete streets and black top parking lots; progress is what it is called…maybe not. An eyesore, mans’ master piece his legacy, beauty it’s not.
Like a spring rain or after a summer shower; new life does salvation brings. Like the morning dew shining like tiny jewels, in the sunshine they do glow. Flowers blooming and life a renewing, with Jesus this is how salvation goes.
Rain can be seen as the world being baptized and cleansed, purifying it of mankind sins. This is a fresh beginning but it not at its end it only truth starts when you ask Jesus to come in.
After a gentle rain shower our God reminds humanity of His power and His promise: rainbow in the sky a wonderful, magical miracle, truly a delightful sight. His signature written in the sky, proof that He tells no lies; never again with water will He end the world that has bought to Him so much pain. His tears of sadness, never again will the world end with rain.
The evil one try his best with his temptation and his tests to cause us to die and never to rise; humanity he do hate want to take all with him into that fiery lake. These are the tools of his trade war and strife adding in a touch of worldly lust doing his best to kill our trust in the Lord who has given us so much. The spiritual war is what we are in do not fall for satan schemes. Heaven or hell which one will it be? Like the sun gives life to flower, the Son gives life to all who follows. He who is free is free in deed.
Christ the savior God did send, it shows us that satan cannot win. Like a summer day after a spring rain new life will begin. He will pardon us of all our sins but you must ask him to come in His forgiveness know no end. Open your heart and let Him in then and only then can you win. In Him salvation is guarantee and a new life can begin; so you must choose Heaven or hell where will you spend eternity in?
God our Father gave His Son to the world so that we would have a path to the truth a light to shine in the darkest of time. Allow His attributes to shine forth you do not would to lose your soul. Before time ever begin He love us, will you not trust in Him sight unseen, the One who gives all life meaning?
All it takes is faith to bypass that fiery lake, because tomorrow is not promise and another sunshine you may not see. Time is on no one side, so do not go chasing rainbows you cannot fly. Keep what real in your mind the reality is sin must die. God give His Son to pay a price that He did not owe, the cost was high, but gift that is given for those who believe; is to be by His side, salvation is free are you ready to receive?
Summer shower and gentle breeze,
Golden flower and dew drops of leaves.
Soft green grass beneath your feet.
The only thing sweeter is than life is living with Jesus for all eternity.

My faith

I know that without you my life wouldnt be my life
I know that without you I'll never understand
I know that wiithout you I wouldnt be able to smile
you know I was told by a very bless person
that everyone have season
and right now I am going though my winter
even though It seem like my spring will ever come
I know as long as I have the faith the size of a seed
that everything will be ok
My faith is not that I wish it will be
but I know that as long as I keep doing what I am doing
my spring will be here in no time

Daisies and the Way to Undress Summer.

“Dress me in daises,” I said, as if flowers could cover my skin in respectable ways, and
he smiled as my shoe boxes of paint tipped over, as the floor became art and the way I
walked towards him smeared my heart at his feet.

We captured laughter this way, drawing insensibilities in between us, and there was an
element of beauty in the grin of a child when it appeared to dance across his grown up
cheeks, an attraction to Peter Pan, and blond hair in the summer, as I thought I could
capture July...

The month used to sit beside my bed, fluttering night lights to save me from dreams, stars
danced in mason jars and fairytales were whispered beyond moonlight as I wrote them in my
dreams, as I watched seasons disappear into morning light.

I arrested kisses with a word and slipped them in my pockets, he commented on the rips
that always decorated the hems of my blue jeans, I played with the brown flowered
patches at me knees, I looked at him and told him my secrets, I whispered content beneath
the spring as we watched summer rise, as the sky became a canvas and I wished my hands
were more capable...

“Show me the way beyond you,” he requested, as my glance became puzzled, “Show me who you
are.”

He handed me a daisy, he told me to undress, I studied the petals as they fell to my feet,
my toes became blanketed...

and I walked towards him...

the decoration of spring mapping out my heart, and he smiled with a mouth that grinned
when he spoke my name, when he laughed in the fashion of a child and held me under
moonlight when spring faded and summer came.

The Swaying of the Grass

1.

A path leads,

to where wild grass grows,

sashaying in the summer breeze.

2.

Along the path,
lightness settles within,

feeling the grass,
swooning,
tickling ankles,

swaying to the lilting bird-song,

in a dance of intimate abandon,

brushing the remnants of pain away.

3.

Melodies float across fields of green,

delicately caressing my heart,

teasing emptiness to flee,

comforting the mind,

to silently be.

4.

Walking on,
savouring the peace,

a momentary respite,
from the burdens of the now,

all is quiet,

a stillness cradling fractured emotions,

the grass in the fields sway,

dusk descends,

shadows lengthen,

nudging dimming light to take leave,

of the day

To Ever Young Spring

To Ever Young Spring

O enchanting flavor, of the beautiful Spring
Why you always look, so different to me
Seasons come and seasons go, every year
But why only the Spring, enchants everyone

Why the mind get lost by the flavor of Spring
Even birds returns from their migrating hides
Why sweet sensations runs in human hearts
Why life began to look so different in Spring

Why the Koyal* keep on singing and singing
Why the smell of Mango buds creates thrills in mind
Where on earth this intoxicating wine is being made
Which sweeps away our mind and heart in Spring

And where in Nature the nectar of Spring is hidden
Which intoxicates humans, birds and even animals
Why in Spring, images began to appear gradually
On the other wise sleeping, but turning pages of life

The Butterflies are flying from the top of the flowers
To invite Black bee and others to enjoy the Spring
What ever may be the stage of life in which, one may be
In the season of Spring only, one feels young and evergreen

Why my mind has started searching on its own
Sensing the dawn of the season of Spring near by
Why even in our life, we find some day that even in Spring
Even the enchanting fragrance too began to feign oneday

Why the mind cheated and illusion by seasons
Becomes anxious and began to feel young again
By watching the new born leaves on every trees
And finding them dancing with breeze in Spring

Why the singing of Koyal’s * kuhoo* kuhoo*
Leaves the impression of some anguish always
Silently the heart keeps on searching throughout the year
The grandeur and melody of the Spring singer

When the childhood has ever come back again
And when the youth has ever returned, once gone
Only on the pages of our memories and in our hearts
Their fragrance remain always alive and ever young

Ghosts of South Dakota part 1

The location of the Spring Creek School was on a flat, nestled
between the cliff on the north and the Little White River on the south. The river
flowed in from the northwest, circled to the south of the school about a quarter
mile and wended it's way east departing to the northeast. Though I never saw it
in my day I imagine this was once a flood plain. Yes, at one time this could
easily have been the scene of flash floods. The waters tumbling and sloshing
their way across this insignificant piece of ground in a hurry to reach the exit.
Time had slowed the waters and erosion had taken it's tole, leaving the west and
south in twenty to thirty foot sharp sandy cliffs. The ground sloped to the east
leaving a two foot drop off. A sandy graded road approached the large heavy duty
bridge, crossed and continued on as a trail road.
It's summer and the Little White River gently rolls from bend to bend.
We are running back and forth across the bridge stopping now and then to lean
over the rail and watch the Indian children splashing in the only deep spot. It was
first comers got the choice spot. Big deal! Chest deep to a ten year old.
We run off the bridge south. The graded road crosses a big culvert
allowing a small spring access to the river where it fans out at the point of entry.
We run through the crystal liquid turning it into chocolate and leaving dents in the
once smooth sand. This is a child's paradise. Sand so pure, soft and powdery
warmed by the sun. The deeper we dig the cooler the sand becomes as it is
joined by the moisture below.
Our mothers put limits on our water sports. First: we had to wait an
hour after the meal to get in the water. Second: polio was a concern in our day
and we didn't get to play as often as we thought we should. Third: we were not
allowed to swim unless our mothers were with us. With the gardening, house
keeping and canning, we were lucky if we got to swim two or three times a week.
I guess that is why we spent most of our time on horseback.
On the ridge north of the school stood a lookout tower. In the long
evenings we would be found always outside, either sitting on the steps, running
up and down the fire escapes or in the front yard. This was the only real green
grass in the area. It was fenced to keep cattle or horses from trampling it into the
mirrored image of its surroundings. This enclosure measured fifty by a hundred
feet and was kept watered. A large tree provided the only shade

Spring Showers

The moist air come around once more
to start the new life of nature to be sure
spring showers that cleanses our world.

The snow melts to a degree for it is time to see
a world of wonders for everyone
that needs a spring showers to be free.

The ground gets all soft for things to grow
to be part of this emotional adaptation
is how we should know.

The binds of winter goes away
to be come a new season to portray
a wonder of colors and beauty.

The moment has come to use your umbrellas
in many ways can block the showers
that might drizzle on us to ruin our day.

Astronomy

A light came falling from the stars
And before it would stand
It introduced itself to me
And took me hand in hand

We danced upon the shining grass
Of fields lit by the moon
And with one kiss she let me go
Saying the sun would rise soon

I’d wait till night for her to come
And every night she did
We’d live like life was eternal
Of it we’d never be rid

My lover from the skyward stars
Living life with no holds barred
And every day I’d wait for her
For night to fall, miracles occurred

I could forget my darkened past
Our soliloquy eternal last
She helped to clear my darkened sight
Which only showed with the sunlight

Eternal
Eternal
This dream would spring eternal

Eternal
Eternal
These dreams would spring eternal

Spring Is Wilting

The spring is wilting, it's leaves of veins slit red and makeshift graves where truth once layed upon a bed of roses.

Those roses whose shoots once rose, through ashes of adversity now show no signs that the roots are even there; the blood has drowned it everywhere.

The petals are burning through the smog, which strangles voices in it's fog; the vegetation doesn't grow, it bellows in pain as the rockets rain another day.

The spring is wilting, the summer's doubtful if it comes. All time is ending; and no ears can hear a sound. The fires suffocate it all.

The glimmer of truth still skies the hope but still the peasants die; there isn't time to mourn their passing for here come yet more rockets from the sky.

Will there ever be a summer?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To the martyrs and innocents killed in Libya, Syria and Bahrain. Let us pray your deaths were not in vain and that the world will see a summer come again.

Sensations of spring

spring only come's once a year
so celebrate it now while it's here
the flowers starting to bloom
gardens so full there not much room
new life starts to fill the world
as the seed of life starts to uncurl
with fresh start new love begins
when sun sets and light then dims
a whole new place circles the planet
as winter ends and finally sets
between the two most famous seasons
but its there because it has a reason
as spring begins so does the hope
with the new sun the people can then cope
the fall of the cool rain and the warming of sun
to let everyone know spring has begun

Spring Musings

Her eyes gazing at the raindrops,
as they create patterns outside the window;
she follows the patterns, and get destructed
when another pattern forms over them;
she wonders whether that's how love is;
something you cannot make a pattern of- flaming
in caresses and kisses, and the next minute tears
and pain.....

Like Spring for the Very First Time

Today was the kind of day
That presses itself against your
lips like a first kiss
And melts on your tongue like
caramel,
All warm sugar sweetness and
decadent richness-
Today smelled like sunlight
and childhood,
Bursting with buttercup-bright
color like laughter-
Today felt like Spring for the
very first time.
Today was the kind of day
I've been missing for a while.

Red Spring Cherry Blossoms

Finally came upon such beautiful scene where the eyes cannot resist.
With such pure fragrances taking away the sadness and the purpose of life,
Lies under these red cherry blooming trees, the sadness and painful endurance of each falling blossoms.
Each leaves and flowers reminisced of my past.
As the spring passes by, nothing is left behind.
I pick up the red blossom flower and smile, as the spring vanished,
I faded with the season, shedding the last drop of tear surrounding by red blossoms.

Heart Warrior

As winter turns to spring I’ll see her there,
With eyes that cast aside my bashful mask,
And with a snowdrop’s kiss I am aware
The year ahead is now a simple task.
With eyes that cast aside my bashful mask,
My fingers feel the earth beneath my nails,
The year ahead is now a simple task,
She turns the wheel again so life prevails.
My fingers feel the earth beneath my nails,
While planting seeds to greet the summer sun
She turns the wheel again so life prevails,
I smile again as Brigid’s works is done
And with a snowdrop’s kiss I am aware
As winter turns to spring I’ll see her there.

I TRUST, YOU'LL REMAIN FAITHFUL TO ME...

The warm spring rain is a steady downpour
 on this foggy eight- wheeler
parked by a dark highway seen from nowhere,
as I hold and softly caress
your glowing photograph in my hands;
this wish seems impossible,
and imagining you next to me...
brings me closer to reality!

I trust, you'll remain faithful to me...
and mark down another empty day,
making you restless and insecure;
all in all, I am the same man you adored!

My feet trudge into the deep sand...
making me wish that there was more
to life than this useless sorrow;
I have loved you and been proud of it,
and I hope to make you the happiest...
when all this comes to an end!

I trust, you'll remain faithful to me...
as I am faithful to you to this day;
to give up everything we gave and felt...
would be none other than foolishness!

The spring rain has stopped coming down,
a patch of blue is seen though the bright clouds;
at least, my hope isn't completly gone...
that's a good sign for a guy who only wished once!

Classically gray day
pre Spring trees
cast in silouhette.
Sitting in shadow
side by side
behind the wall,
one of them
puts right
hand above left
knee of the other,
slides palm slowly up.
Heartbeats. Ticktock breath.
Feels flesh soften,
moisten, smooth.
One looks ahead.
The other eyes over,
downward. A parting of thighs.
Future waits.
Mysteries near solving.

Lake Michigan

on the banks of lake michigan i found my true loves soul
tired and twisted in a wreckage of folded metal resembeling avatgard sculptures

nameless, senseless, and cold i drug her from the wreckage while the sky was painted red and black
now with the moon in my eyes i breathe life into her mouth but each breathe given means each breathe taken

as as the sun begins to rise i see visions of a former life- forgotten life when we once loved eachother-
when we were children dancing in the spring rain
warm and wet we embrace under endless rainbows saturated with everything under the sun

we become spring rain, we become one

now with the coming of the day i say farewell to past love, i say farewell to past life
where im goin no man can follow
im going to the sun so i can stay warm.

Spring holiday fever

Daffodils bunch, spring has sprung,
Sun raises higher to waken sleepy heads;
No time for hibernation now as spring fever hits, -
create time to get together; go fly a kite,
or sit and chill, make daisy chains.

Let the sunshine bring warm sunny days.
In meadows baby lambs take their first steps;
whilst mad March hare hops and plays
with baby bunnies dotting the green fields
of the countryside.

A season where everything wants to bloom,
time to trim those lawns and weed again;
and all just in time before spring rains
will once more aid those thirsty
flowers and bulbs as they grow.

For it is now that gorgeous butterflies
flutter gracefully by giving nature a helping hand;
pollinating the kingdom while watching little chicks -
crack open their Easter eggs, just in time
to join in the madness of this happy holiday season.

The Thing About Spring

The thing about Spring is the promise it brings
Of the new life and rebirth and blue skies that it sings
Of the birds and the bees and new leaves on the trees
Of the flowers and the hours of sunshine and of showers

The thing about Spring is the new hope that it brings
That every girl can be queen and every boy can be king
That the winter will splinter and that summer’s a comer
That days will get longer and that love will grow stronger

The thing about Spring is the assurance it brings
That new planted seeds bare new offerings
That the circle of life will keep circling
And that’s why I sing of the thing about Spring

The promise of Spring

Summer ended too soon
Autumn leaves falls under the moon
Snowflakes chills the winter air
As spring flourishes with care

Raindrops will slowly pour and give the seeds
A new hope after the cold and lonely season
The sun will shine as if it has never been deprived
Of rising during the cold and lonely season

The bitterness of seeing the leaves
Cut-off from its mother branches
The sorrowful sight of trees
Uprooted from Mother Earth

Even if the flowers are already withered
For now it’s leaves are sleeping
A new branch will soon come out
And the tree will be soon alive again

Snow will soon vanish from your way
The leaves of hope won’t fall soon
Neither shall the trees be uprooted
That’s the promise of spring God will keep forever.

The lullaby of Spring

The birds are back around the leafless tree
Chanting and mesmerizing the enduring glee
Creek noisily brings its current to the wounding plea
As the winter cries, hastily flee

The frosty wind has long been gone
The air has become a thinning balm
While it plays my long and dainty mane
It soars me up to welcome the purest rain

While this could be the grandest sight
The blooming of all that was blight
The earth is painted, flowers all white
In the quietest moment of the night
The moon is waxing with all its might

I could clearly understand now
In between my confusing brows
Why seasons have to come and go
To let us know
That life too, can swing to and fro.

Zephyrus The King of West Wind

Zephyrus, King of West Wind, son of Dawn:
Only from the pages of Myth you're known,
For myriad eons ago
Man decided to descend into matter,
Where truth forgotten - as never known:
Beyond appearances, oneness moving with
Inescapable perfection!

Fructifying love that endures forever,
Keep counts on misdeed never
Messenger of Spring
Brings life to all things,
Where truth forgotten - as never known:
Beyond appearances, oneness moving with
Inescapable perfection!

Kiss of West Wind melts the snow,
Calls on the mummified seeds to grow
Green leaves sprout from
Self made coffins,
Where truth forgotten - as never known:
Beyond appearances, oneness moving with
Inescapable perfection!

The valley filled with light breeze
Heaven sent lilies ease
The heavy laden hearts'
Heralding the need for new beginning,
Where truth forgotten - as never known:
Beyond appearances, oneness moving with
Inescapable perfection!

Spring

Well spring has Will come and hearts will feel the passion of love,_O yes young girls thoughts will turn to boys as the worm sun shines from above.__O when the sun worms the ground and new growth comes to life,_Then young men's thoughts turn to a home and a wife.__O another season of the cycle of life when love and laughter fills the air,_When hearts will be won or hearts will be broken but no one seems to care.__O spring the start of new life the chance for love and for some a new beginning,Now we life this life with a gamblers heart and hope it is love we will be winning._O do we trust in fate and hope for a wedding as the spring sun shines from above,_Or do we seek out the passion of a worm heart and hope it is the one we truly love.

Rebirth

Tis spring and budding the crocus blossom
the fuchias have died from winters fright
the cold gate of winter has released it's might
and yet in hybernation is the possum

the spires of the foxglove will skip this year
within the glacial tears have winnowed past
then distilling of snow hardened fast
anon the daffodils and violets will appear

The shoots of life spring forth in arias song
the frost within the heart of winter fled
fountains bound forth from waters shed
they have all been kissed upon by dawn

In the hills the trails gates are broken
winters past has smote it's autumn
languishing leaves can never blossom
and beauty of it's death rarely spoken

Purple lupine forest yet to stretch the meadow
the wetland swamps lay still in fallow
yet is tendered by frog and swallow
soon the cattails and water lillies fellow

The leaping children of the woodland forest
will spring forth from lonely glen
and years to rushed for blessing men
yet in it's radience within does rest

Seems felonious that within rejuvination
that the doubts of men should sprout
when manifest of nature does so shout
that rebirth to life and love it's susperation

But one must chose what one's course is fated
rebirth it's possibility to man
in soil the breath of life to land
Nature has so amply demonstrated

Seasons

Season’s

The defining moments in my life, are like the seasons in me.
The season I was in, determined who I’d be.
Just when I started understanding it seemed the season turned.
The things that I lost became what I yearned.
In the spring time of my life I was foolish and young.
There seemed little consequence for all that I had done.
I hit the road running, never looking back.
Never seeing what I needed, only what I lacked.
So much around disappeared, then it all was gone,
These became the moments for which I longed.
In the summer of my life, I basked out in the sun.
No responsibilities, my only interest fun.
The days were warm, full of light.
It seemed like the future was nowhere in sight.
In the autumn of my life there seemed so much change.
Everything in my sights, seemed out of range.
As the leaves began to fall I thought my life was turning.
Smoke just filled the air, from all the bridges burning.
No matter what I tried, I couldn’t save myself.
Only to awake, seeing someone else.
Then came the winter season, with the cold wind’s blow.
The seeds that I had planted, lie dormant in the snow.
The door slammed behind me, I couldn’t see where to go.
Things that I thought I knew, I didn’t really know.
The world outside was dying, but I wasn’t really trying……...
Now it seems that life has come full circle again.
A new beginning from the ashes of the end.
When I thought it may be over, spring time returned.
It carried the message of all that I had learned.
To truly love, you must set everything free.
Then you can realize all that you can be.
With eyes wide open, I finally can see.
That everything I needed was right in front of me.

Winter's Departure

Spring came back to town today
In all her glorius style
Winter packed up in a huff
And left us for a while

We all thought Spring was gone for good
For Winter had stayed so long
And though we tried to be Winter's friend
She draped us in her cold sarong

She'd ice the roads over
And even freeze the lake
No one forgot her cold demeanor
Or the warmth she'd always take

But when Spring blew in with her flowery array
And the sun seemed to shine so bright
Winter could not stay around
So she left in the middle of night

We know that she's not gone for good
For she always rushes back too soon
As Spring always leaves for Summer
Fall also leaves for Winter's melancholy tune

Dance Again

There'll be flowers in our garden
to bloom for us in Spring
I plant them here for you my Love
for scents of life they bring

We'll watch them rise together
the first Spring they shall grow
as coloured carpet garden blooms
both you and I shall know...

That as we wait and watch them
by a drizzled window pane
we'll see unyielding buds that close
and fight the driving rain

See velvet dew drop petals
that seek the cherished light
and bask in breathless sunshines last
then curl and fade by night

Captured us a moment
and tho my love you ask
to quell and hold the seasons change
so life shan't come to pass

...But pass it must....
to leave you
with a seasons floral song
and know I am still with you
each Spring that comes along

Scents that send you air to breathe
pervading pure and sweet
and bring you hope to dance again
with flowers at your feet

Seasons of my Life

No time to rearrange
As the seasons start to change
Our die has not been cast
We can alter where we go
We can change a river's flow
But we cannot change our past
In the spring the world was bright
As I journeyed into night
It was a time for learning
And from what I can recall
I thought I knew it all
In my soul a constant burning
As spring turned into summer
The sound of a different drummer
Made me believe that all was lost
I was running like a deer
Knew neither common sense nor fear
Never contemplated cost
The autumn of my years
Began with bitter tears
And a time for much reflection
It was then that I could see
The world was not all about me
And I began to change direction
I feel my heart palpitating
And I live anticipating
New challenges to face
True wealth comes from sharing
True happiness from caring
It makes the world a better place,

A CHILDS' BLESSING

Faeries and butterflies
On an Autumn day
Sweet lilting song
The Whispering Trees sigh

A boy for Autumn
Leaves of gold and red all around
A sky, so blue
A child born...
A King found

A blessing from Heartstone
Across the sea, so blue
Shadowfire too

In the Great Hall
A boy, so perfect
So true
A Faeries' blessing for all

A Spring Queen...
So serene
Within her arms,
she did bring
An Autumn boy
A King..

Offerings for the new boy...
A flower from the Spring Queen
A golden feather from the King of Air
Water from the Stream of Sighs
A leaf from the Whispering Trees
Faerie Dust
A book from the Kings' Library

Faeries and butterflies
On a crisp Autumn day
The Heartstone glowed,
for beauty showed

Ele(me)nts

I can feel it.
Flowing through me, twisting, taking root.
In the mirror, my eyes blaze green fire.
If you snapped one of my arms, it would smell like dew, new
Like fresh green twig.

I am surprised that passerbys don’t notice.
My hair sets the air afire as I walk down the street:
Not even tears of rain dampen the burning strands.
They say you can’t mix fire and water,
But I whip both into a glowing froth and emerge reborn.

You wouldn’t recognize me now.
I am pure spirit, stripped earth air sea and fire.
True, daily I smooth on calm agreeability, pleasant smiles.
But do not be fooled. Look closer, the phoenix rises in my eyes.
Nothing can touch me.

Can you feel it?
I doubt it. You who tried to trim me back with pointed words
And thought you’d won.
Well it’s spring now, the spring of my soul.
And I am laughing, bursting into bloom.

But I am more dangerous than any flower.
I am raw soil, sharp breeze, foamy wave, searing flame.
All the elements are alive in me.
Bubbled up from the womb of the earth,
I am uncooked power, newly-picked strength.
I am Woman
Goddess
Gaia.

I Love The Spring

The scent of flowers in the air
The birds and bees mating here
The Spring is filled with life and how
Lovers taking the step to a vow

When I see the buds on the trees
Robins singing in the breeze
I think of my God in these
Beautiful ,He tries to please

Man kind should take a look
Stop at a beautiful brook
Listen to the sounds it makes
As the the wind comes rolling through
God meant these things for me and you

Count your Blessings everyone
This world is all about the Son
Showing a litte bit of Paradise
To us who always think twice

Remember the Spring
This was the time of year
When the Son of man was here
He gave His life for you and me
So we could have eternity

Springtime

Spring is, the nice smelling daffodils. Spring is, the cool sweet breeze. Spring
is, the wind whispering through the trees. Spring is, soft grass that feels good
on my feet. Spring is, little birds that say, "tweet tweet". Spring is, wonderful to
me.

the prayer of love

Give us lord a pleasant place:
a place where we can love,
where we can dance
and share the rains and rainbow above
to make our grains and gains glow in abundance.

Give us lord a special space:
A space where we can pray,
where we can sing
and sweep dust and dross away
to make our hope and home a sweet scent’s spring .

Give us lord a friendly face:
A face where love will ring,
where peace will dance,
where smile and sounds will spring
to make our hat and heart hop and prance.

Springtime Memories and Wishes

As the sweet scents of spring envelop the cool air
I am taken away to a far off land of memory, of bliss
Childhood days of running, laughing, days of care
It all brings a warm smile to my face, as I reminisce

I am taken away to a far off land of memory, of bliss
A time I thought I once forgot, but now I can relive
It all brings a warm smile to my face, as I reminisce
With people I thought I disliked, but now I forgive

A time I thought I once forgot, but now I can relive
I also see those days when we turned on each other
With people I thought I disliked, but now I forgive
I wish them all happiness, my sisters and brothers

I also see those days when we turned on each other
Childhood days of running, laughing, days of care
I wish them all happiness, my sisters and brothers
As the sweet scents of Spring envelop the cool air

Watch the World Turn

The world turns,
Changing every second,
With every whisper of the wind
Every movement of the sea,
Every song of the birds,
All the earth is in motion

Look at your surroundings
And see the change incarnate

Watch as spring first begins –
The flowers in their bloom
The trees all green and glorious
The sky a crystal clear,
All the world seems light and weightless
We see nature and smile at its beauty

Watch as spring bursts into summer –
The sun shining brighter,
The air feeling warmer,
The heat healing the earth,
All the world is free and cheerful
We feel fresh, vivacious and content

Watch as summer rolls into autumn –
The leaves turning all shades of orange
Nature taking on a deeper hue,
The cool starting to finally sink in,
All the world begins, school, work, and play
We adjust to a new routine

Watch as autumn fades into winter –
The air getting crisper,
The days becoming shorter,
Glittering snow falling softly to the earth,
All the world is comfortable and cozy
We settle down to warm by the fire

Look at your surroundings,
And see the change incarnate
With every breath you take,
Watch the world turn.

IN A SPRING WOOD

I awoke to the sound
of birds calling
Such joyous chorusing
In a Spring wood

So fresh
So new
The colours iIsaw
The vividness too

To run through
The trees
The wind upon my face
A sea of purple and blue
Flowers underfoot too

So many shades of green
In a spring wood
I was lost in between

Such a fresh dawn
Rosy red
To live life anew
To be reborn
Start again too

Fever for Spring

So the spring flurries sweet instead of the snow
It seeps into me, my dreams set aglow
For the green of the tenderest grassling can be
blended with blue or the grey of the sea
It's a fallen out whisker of a cat painted black
or my momma out swingin' in the hammock out back
The sea asks the sun to go for a dip
and the moon closes over like a tight fitting lid
We relish the splendor of bare-footed feet
as the wind urges us down our luminous street
Then curling up tight as we're in for the night
(like our friends who speak only with purrs...)
We dream of the spring (and such marvelous things)
that will never be matched with mere words...

Spring!

 Spring into a breathing space;
 Feel delicate wild flowers brush against your feet;
 Wander into the secluded meadow;
 Stop to admire the gentle curves of Spring boughs;
 Relish them bursting with fragrant blossoms;
 Celebrate new life in abundance.

THE COMING OF THE SPRING QUEEN

When winter became a Spring day.....
The Spring Queen came ,with out delay
She approached through the Whispering Trees
Everything she touched, turned to green
Fresh shoots,budding leaves.....
Flowers to be seen

The Eastern Wind,
bringer of life and green
Followed the Spring Queen
The awakening...........
The greening..........

The Castle gates opened wide
The Spring Queen walked inside..............
The walled garden grown
Welcomed into Castle Heartstone

Her fingers touched the wall........
Instantly the flowers grew..........
In places not before seen
Such is the power of the Spring Queen

The air filled with the sound of birds............
Birdsong, too beautiful for words
For, there was life everywhere
The Spring days,so fair

The mood of the Castle lifted
The life,the colour
The Spring Queen, gifted

The bare trees filled out,
the welcoming shade
The walled garden transformed............
Colour spilling everywhere............
Spring is in the air

Such joy and happiness..........
Bursting through
The Whispering Trees
The East Wind breeze
The meadow flowers, so blue

Fresh flowers filled the Castle...........
Most of all in the Great Hall.........
Where the Heartstone lay,
on the north wall

The hum of bees,
buzzing on the breeze
Spring honey,so sweet...........
A real treat!

The Spring Queen.........
Giving birth...........
To a new and beautiful earth
The land lay green.....
The flowers, to be seen

These flowers,sublime
The emerging springtime............
All too soon the days grew hot.........
The days grew long.........
The days had new meaning............
Soon it would be Summer Queens' time
the intense greening

Mind on Spring Harp

Morning emerged out of night dark.
Shy sun began to show its face,
It streaked the night sky with daylight,
The dawn was striking and clear,
Blue azure sparkled in the spectacle of sunlight,
I left warmth of cozy bed to catch that sight,
Stretching limbs to get off sleep stupor,
My nostrils widened to heavenly fragrance,
It was spring time,
And everybody could feel its vapor,
Each leg movement was up and about,
As if it was springed all right,
Zest flowed abound,
And eyes searched far and beyond,
Wherever they were laid,
Colored canopy of blooms was in raid,
Red, blue, geen, yellow, pink and what not,
My little garden was witness to it all,
Blooms had been ripening and had now broken free,
They smiled as if coy and confident bride,
I ambled across to the green carpet,
And stopped at a riotous bloom,
Cool wind blew across,
And they all began to zoom,
This bloom was as if a search light,
Instilling delight and dispelling all gloom,
I was a late riser,
Many had awaken before me,
There was activity on the room,
And it was on the riotous bloom,
Little pale streaked honey bees were in flight,
Flying now and then landing right,
They were busy gathering nectar,
And possibly ready to ferry it home,
No! Was it a beginning of a new home?
No it was not; I saw it sharp and clear,
Developed broken wax cubicles lay in vantage,
Right there near the bloom,
Looking as if it had been a part of bee home,
And now was a little home stand alone,
There was a rebel mother bee,
Or my imagination was on a spring,
To make most of the spring,
These little bees had brought in their home,
They could not wait to get home,
Now here they worked,
And here they stored,
I watched it for a time,
Before it struck me real hard,
If little bees could use spring thus,
Why I could not,
I had a lesson indeed sharp,
And my mind was hooked to the spring harp.

Spring Plight

My poppies are still alive!

Beneath the weight of the winter sleep
the snow built up to 3 feet deep
they kept their leaves in slumber green
and waited for spring with a shiver

The ice is slow to melt this year
My desire is quicker and sends me out
I pull out soil and extra pots
and clean out the autumn's leaves.

I'm pushing the weather with determination
to send out the sun strong to force creation
I yearn for the days being long with elation
as the blooms bellow forth that it's spring

As usual I'm just an impatient girl
I mirror the poppies alive under ice
A season of red soaring unthaw would suffice
to shake myself free of this winter.

I'll open the windows on all of my hopes
and spring clean my thoughts to a shine
I may be peeling off icicles yet
but the spring time is about to be mine.

THE WATER OF LOVE

Deep within a mountain
At it's heart
A spring flowed
From it, love
Glowed

Water is the source of everything
Love, life
Birdsong
Trees
An eagles' golden wing

A gemstone
Filled with love,
began in a spring
A Heartstone
The water of love
Flowed
Such light
Glowed

Heartstone mountain
Welling deep
In its' heart
Love to seep

Keep the love
Keep the faith
A mountain spring
Love, life
Can give you everything

The water of love
Touched you
Touched me
For in the heart
Welling forth
Flowing you see
There is no other way
What was always known
A living Heartstone
Within you
Within me
