yellow dress

if i woke up from
on the kitchen table
and saw her standing
there at the fridge
pouring tomato juice
into her bloody mouth,
wearing nothing
but that yellow dress
she cut in half
last halloween after walking
to the river where she
said the most beautiful things
about dancing with the moon
right before throwing up
something black & fleshy-pink
on the rock where i was sitting,
& we walked back to eat
a fried egg standing
next to the stove where
she would light her cigarettes
swigging shady ladys, silently
listening to my developing dissatisfaction
& some sort of lingering love,
if she was here right now,
staring blankly at flies buzzing,
i wouldn't be surprised,
even if it has been three years since she died.

Beast

Bitter by ; being mentally bruised and battered most of my life,
shaken with fright without a single soul to help me
through the troubles unseen horrors of the night,
from an evil source that I fear to strike.
But as the evil forces, who limited my choices
that when I found my stallion horses.
Swiftly it came to my head I can run and I cannot hide,
feeling the Beast closing in on every time I decide to hide.
Tired of running and tired of alluding this
relentless creep as my red bolt eyes weep
feeling rest-less, likes a lonely defeated warrior from his home in retreat
that is when I knew it time to rest, to release my Beast.
But in a fight, I may not win however as I cast out my dirty words sin
I made sure it felt my impact, to the bloody end.

It's Elementary

The work I did was playing with the angels
We read and painted, dressed up for Halloween as rangers
The Universe so close from dry, paper mache
With older kids we even wrote an Etheree

The work I did was traveling to Europe
With twenty of my students and an antelope
We colored windows facing the lights of Paris
and even opened a brasserie "Gateau de Bliss"

So, Carolyn, you made me smile opening this album
When asking "Where the Wild Things Are? " Ka-boom!
Again it's "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs"
...but empty are long gone Elementary School halls...

it's magic

it's magic!

A prestidigitator I know
graciously agreed to show me
how to make quarters vanish
for small children in costume
on Halloween night.

After insufficient practice
the night came for me to
offer the choice, "trick, or treat".

Few came by to engage in the
uh..."hallowed" American tradition
but that is another trick.

When asked "Do you want the trick, or
do you want the treat?",
everyone, said "treat!", much to my dismay.

The final costumed charges came up,
a probable four-year-old girl
and her younger brother in tow,
mother at the driveway.

I asked her the question, expecting
the previous answer in return, but
to my keen expectation, she answered "trick!"

I proceeded to pull out a quarter
and do a slight bit of slight-of-hand,
somewhat clumsily, but when I opened
my hand to drop the vanished coin
into hers, she looked at her empty
hand for a few perplexed seconds,
then began to giggle uncontrollably
- now that, indeed, is magic to me.

she got the "magic" coin and a big candy bar.

THAT TIME OF YEAR

It is that time of the year
When all the shopkeepers begin to cheer...
They've started the season sooner than before
In hopes that it will bring people to their store.

I am more tied to the traditions
Than I am to these indiscretions...
So it makes me go bananas
When Halloween is followed by Santas!

Who would have ever believed
That this kind of irreverence could be conceived...
It's not for glory, for thanks, or for wishing us luck
It is only that they want the almighty Buck!

As for me, I'll sit home and drink a beer
I never shop, until December 24th of the year.

Have a Merry Christmas!

Autumn Air

It’s near, it’s here you can feel and smell it too
Autumn has blown in; the air is worn out, not new
The decaying of the leaves fills the autumn breeze
Blowing free and fast it brings in the autumn sneeze…

Flu season has arrived with the decay filled autumn air
It’s not right we didn’t get a summer, it really isn’t fair
All the seasons strike a fear in someway for all of us
Winter snows, the north wind blows and makes you want to cuss…

Spring brings with it hay-fever, another sneezing season
Summer gives us sunburn, but we risk that for a reason
We all need the sun we bathe and wallow and breathe it in
But when the autumn reaches us, it really is a sin...

Dark nights swoop on down, just like a Halloween ghost
Winds batter us all inland and not only on the coast
Rain is ever constant, breeding fresh new bugs for flu
So autumn air is for the flu-jab, it’s now time for that to renew.

The River home

It was a home on the river we lived .
It was the ghost of a young man whom had taken his own life.

I still remember the vision of him walking by me with a blank stare
We, as a Family of seven , moved into this river house
Panoramic views right out to the river , I should mention

I was home alone as a child , looking out at "The Julia Belle Swan " as she went by .
Upstairs in that room as I saw a figure walking by , with very nice features , auburn hair
I thought he was my older brother , a handsome young guy

Then I realized the young man was not my brother , a apparition he appeared .
He was not there to scare or frighten ,
the message I believe he wanted to shed light on, so clear.

He walked right by ,then disappeared through the window, out to the River .

The Ghost knew I could see him , a gift I have been given
when I was a younger child of five , I had once died for a short time. I was lifted by Jesus in Heaven . Death is not for us to decide .

Later in the years we moved from that home , every home we lived in had a story
or a presence of its own . My Mother had told me later , a young man took his life there .

 Keep fighting your way through life and its despair ,
you are important to someone whom cares . If you feel alone and want life to end , Please pick up the phone , call anyone , call for help , call a Friend .

"This is not fiction , it truly is a gift I have been given "

wanna come thank me for getting bin laden shot america

or do you want to tell the person whose first name is sang by sinead o connor
middle name is sang by fred durst
and last name is mentioned by fred durst

do you want to tell me, the person you just spent 13 years mad at
singing and dancing to my misfortune
and rubbing your happiness in my face as you exclude me from sex

do you want to tell that person whose name you plastered all over your war
that he had nothing to do with surviving it
do you want to tell that man
Troy Jeremy Nelson
who just lost everything 17 times
to start over
that he was not your allie
in whatever that was?

let me put your name alll over a war
and then wait for your enemy to show up
and ask you
what does that guy got that i don't?

everything now
you murdered my grandpa
you murdered my friends
you murdered my sex life

and you sang and danced to my misfortune to the tune of your lies
pretending i was your friend called an alibi
you didnt bother to even try to keep alive

do you want to come telll
me
Troy Jeremy Nelson
that your country just did that too
that thats not what happened?

Im not sure how long your going to live that lie
the thousands of people concerned and involved in that persons endless
and i mean endless nightmare
might just come tell you what has been making them cry.....

Happy Halloween tho
FALSE PROPHET

oh and p.s.
next time you put somebody else in the middle of your war
to play the victom of that person's nightmare
you caused
take notes to pass into the future
as to what is about to occur
to you
may be a life lesson
to history

Thank you for not caring (sarcasm)
thank you for not answering my letters (sarcasm)
thanks for going the wrong way, in the wrong direction, to do the wrong thing
that whole time i kept pointing out a drug ring blackmarket, you people didnt care
about (sarcasm)

thanks for calling me a liar as to what has taken place in my life(sarcasm)

so whenever you are free to hand me a bunch of things with your smiling face, and
names all over them
to make me feel better for the way you treated me
singing and dancing to the sound of getting away with murder
for the miracles youve stolen

my big brother doesn't like to dance around and play house, pretending to be
someone hes not
in a singing competition, racing against his sense of fear
do you want to come tell the man just tortured by malpractice
with his name on your war in your music,
he had nothing to do with winning it?

...."The Final Toast."

"What does light have to do with darkness!?...."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Like mixing champagne miscreants
Within a simile laced frosted glass
Of crystalline stones mingling these
Crowned guises....
Fatidities of peremptory phantasms
Oracular silhouettes of the predisposed?!
Rising in unison unto a collective toast
Toward deceptives destiny; their very own
Whisperings billowing within ceramic tones....
These phantoms of the Pharoahs final call
Unto finalities masquerading opera
Respondez, s'il vous plait!?
Where on a blackened tie adorns this omnibus
The guest of honour with such, hollowed eyes
Smiling, as pressage greets them all....
Raising this metaphoric flume; a symbolic vessel
To these midnight mass miscreants of soporifics
Fatiditized oraculary made realities; fasicles
Standing before phelonians robes of fallacy?!
While as fantasias final chords begin their
Beckoning from afar; this preemptive echoing
Personifications, blood red rose....
Calling, afore this latter days gatherings of
Soon to be forevers, predisposed; ex parte
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

....The final toast!?

Beautiful Lies

December 18, 2012

Beautiful lies known as little white lies
yet one is no more deceptive than each
The truth is what makes it afraid of light
It's important we practice what we preach

Imagination built on lies destroy
Imagination built on truth create
Conquering evil we try to avoid
Tooth fairy, Halloween, Santa abate

Perceptions and images make it real
Origins of Pagan rituals true
We've wandered down this path for a bum deal
Now more lies are created all brand new

The mask behind a beautiful white lie
is the truth with a constant shield, but why?

When the Candy Corn Attacks

When the candy corn attacks The yellow and the orange And the ever sweetened white All come after you They take you in their sweetness Enveloped and morphed inside Grand scheme of candy delight To take you within Just when you thought you were safe Candy corn comes attacking Right on the offensive track With high awareness The yellow slows you way down And orange curls your stomach And white takes and knocks you out Combination punch Of all the Halloween tricks This one seems the deadliest To the weary partygoers Trying to have fun

Halloween Creatures

Bats that fly outside on Halloween night Through a light yellow-orange tinged full moon They scare easy from the ghosts that delight In bringing fear to all those that would swoon From the evil zombies that are in sight To the witches flying around with brooms All these wonderful creatures are laughing Where the Jack-O-Lanterns lay their blessing

Halloween Haunted House

There’s an old mansion On top of an eerie hill Where path runs crooked And candles are lit inside Where ghosts triumphantly float The place exudes hate An evil holds firm within Manor feels desperate Bats gloat of their great catches And black cats find their mice here The place warns of fear By Jack-O-Lanterns hither Lit with dark presence They guard the cemetery That envelopes the front porch No trick or treaters Come by this mansion at night For even the devil Avoids the creepiness here Pain and suffering present Spiders live nearby Capturing the larger prey Trees are dead, spooky Set off fear beyond the grave A Halloween haunted house

Scenes of Boogiemen and Vampires

Night is suffocating with lots of fear Scenes of boogiemen and vampires quite near A haunted house sits on top of a hill Where spiders scatter about on the sill A single light is lit in upstairs room Looking frightful as if to spell some doom Lightning flashes to reveal a graveyard Where the dead lives again in his backyard The pathway up to the dark front entrance Is littered with Jack-O-Lanterns that dance There are snakes that wait for one to walk by So they can strike at him, cause him to die The whole land smells of great fear and of fright Bad place to visit on Halloween night

Where Fear Expounds

The freezing front porch Holds many Jack-O-Lanterns Glowing with great pride Flooding the front porch with light For this very special night Witches fly about In the air with their old brooms Sure to curse someone With their evil laugh they have They work very late at night Black cats prowl the porch Looking for those who fear them They find some victims Over by the neighbors door A fear composed on this night This time of the year Where it’s cold and fear expounds People walk the streets Looking just for something sweet All this on Halloween night

Haunted House

They cling to both my legs in terror
My little ones who just wanted a thrill
Approached with laughing anticipation
The haunted house just filled the bill......

First was the bowl of white eyeballs
That floated in what seemed to be blood
A hand reached out from the middle
The shrieks of horror came in a flood

Then a skeleton who slept in a coffin
Sat up and shrieked with all its might
His hand reached for the nearest child
They screamed in wonderful fright

Evil black bats kept flying above us
And their fangs were a sight to behold
A bite on the neck was anticipated
 Bloody shreiks their enjoyment told

I could hardly walk their hold so tight
Ages six to nine and two in-between
After a cup of hot cocoa they confided
They'd never had a better Halloween....

A true story for the Halloween contest..

A Lone Candle

Go Tell

When I went out on the porch this morn, tiny spider's mother had strung her web
across right in front of the door..

I did not tell cute tiny spider to go on down yonder and get your mother

No, this mother was scary drawn up with her feet pulled in a ball

When she stretched out, why I had to move on

She straightened me out right fast..

Mothers are like that when their child is threatened..

Just had to write this being Halloween is coming up soon...

Halloween's brightest ballerina

In this world, everyone wishes for something.
Some are frivolous, like wanting a diamond ring.
Others are serious, like wanting to get better when ill.
Not every wish can be granted by God's goodwill.

Things happen in life and we don't know why.
Even when we don't want to, we have to say goodbye.
If I had a special power that I could use for good,
there is one girl I would give it all up for if I could.

This year I am giving her the best Halloween she ever had.
We will walk around and I'll smile, even though its sad.
She is dressing up like a ballerina or tiny dancer.
I'll be a superhero, but my powers can't take away her cancer.

If I had superpowers that I could sacrifice for her,
I'd give them up in a minute, that's for sure.
Even if giving them up, meant that I would be gone,
there is no question, I'd sacrifice myself so she could go on.

So I would use my one wish and use my powers,
so she can live on and in the spring, smell the flowers.
Only seven years old, but her body it just couldn't handle.
So close the book, ring the bell, light the candle.

Next time you are wishing for that new thing at the store,
remember that life is what some people are wishing for.
Maybe one day we will all be grateful for what we've got.
We'll see that we have a life, and be thankful for this one shot.

Going Halloween Haiku Crazy

Fear, extreme feeling
Carves hollow points within me
I may run away

It hurts to be so
Deeply afraid inside me
Tears roll down my cheeks

May I escape fear
The terror still left inside
Must rid of all pain

Afraid to move on
I seek solace from the hurt
Peace to be free, hope

Hope to find a way
Out of Halloween's darkness
And into light's grace

With the orange and black tonight There seems to be an absent light Halloween comes, frightens many Perfect season, quite uncanny Many forget about the fright I say Halloween is for sight And the sounds of evening’s delight There’s no complaint for smells plenty There’s fear for all Orange for pumpkins, black for night I don’t know the skeleton’s plight Darkness consumes, breaks vanity Allows the creatures travesty Corrodes old minds that aren’t bright There’s fear for all

Cemetery Ritual

On an eerie and foggy Halloween night A couple enters a dark graveyard with fear Hearing noises of a ritual tonight Knowing that demons and skeletons are near A sacrifice of a virgin is their goal The demons hearts are really black as coal Raising the fierce zombies up, they do attack The couple turns and runs never to look back
Russell Sivey, Form: Rispetto
The eerie fog is even denser now; Our couple wander, praying to get home, But find themselves inside a wizard’s lair; He’s chanting from a heavy, dusty tome. He raises rotting corpses, smelling foul; They grab the couple, bite and tear to kill; Our heroes die, then hear the wizard‘s voice, And rise to serve him too, against their will.

When Nightmares Reign

When I was just a little girl,
no taller than Daddy’s knee...
there were lakes and forests,
wildlife as far as eye could see.

Deer had no fear and roamed
our garden for a morning snack.
Bears came down for garbage cans,
bears red, and brow, and some black.

We had a half acre garden where
our food supplies were always grown.
The women filled canning jars all day,
till the root cellar shelves would groan.

There was a clothes line for every yard,
where sheets and jeans waved in the wind.
In winter the laundry would freeze so hard,
Daddy’s overalls would not fold or bend.

Eisenhower can through our tiny town,
resplendent in a Ford convertible of blue.
Not a care was given for terrorists...
they were something we never knew.

Montana was a peaceful place for a child.
No pollution for tiny lungs that were bad.
No crime sprees anywhere ... cep’t
wild boys who on Halloween went mad.

But years passed by and I began to see
things were changing wherever we went.
Moved to a city where things were spread,
but still left room to pitch a camping tent.

Sixty years passed by, living leaves us blind.
The changes came slowly, sprawl and blight.
No silence to be found anywhere even on
a starry spring and sweetest warm night.

Murder was a scary word, and when it was
in a newspaper, print was half a foot high.
Then little by little the numbness came,
and it’s on every paper box we pass by.

I worked my life away and grew older
as each year left its calendar mark for me.
I felt the discontent rub my very soul,
as I grew less safe and far less free.

Came a September day we call 911...
I watched with horror as all of us were to do.
All at once fear was a hovering shadow
that turned my life from content to a dark hue.

No longer do I feel safe...I wait for the siren call,
when some half-crazed zealot will send more planes.
And when those planes fly over, I tremble in fear
of the nuclear bombs that on this land reigns.

The Colors of Halloween

The colors of Halloween spark such great interest
Like the orange of a pumpkin that delight
With a face that can bring a lot of fright

The great ghoulish color green surely brings unrest
Could be seen as the color of their deep eyes
That the undead have inside when they rise

The color purple has a mighty sheen, could be best
This eerie color comes forth from the dark spell
That the evil witch casts, bringing forth all of hell

The color black is Halloween, greater than all the rest
The color in which the deep darkest shadows cast
The ones that call forth evil that will surely last

All these Halloween colors bring life one would jest
They brings a delightful feel to all on Halloween
A playful feeling for everyone is truly seen

The colors of Halloween spark such great interest
The great ghoulish color green surely brings unrest
The color purple has a mighty sheen, could be best
The color black is Halloween, greater than all the rest
All these Halloween colors bring life one would jest

Yes, There Really Are Monsters

The content of this poem is semi-graphic, so please be aware of that before you
read.......

Yes, There Really Are Monsters

Growing up as a child, I never wanted to sleep alone.
Fearful of the isolated darkness and mostly the unknown.
“Mommy is there monsters?” a question I would commonly ask.
“Only on Halloween my dear, the ones we see in masks”

Still not satisfied with her answer, I questioned her more.
Asking her the same old thing as I did the night before.
Frustrated and exhausted, she took me by my little hand.
Looking under my bed, in my closet; even the night-stand.

“So see my daughter the monsters are only in your head.”
“It’s time to get some sleep Stacy Lynn, now do as I have said.”
Respecting mommy's wishes; my little body trembling with fear.
Wishing the hour was morning, praying for “him” not to appear.

But as darkness faded, an uncomfortable silence fell about.
I could hear the monster stirring, preparing to come out.
Hoping the noises I heard, were my brothers fooling around.
Pulling covers tightly over my head; praying not to be found.

Footsteps getting closer, the monster is at the foot of my bed.
I hear his heavy breathing; this is not at all what mommy said.
Quietly lifting covers back, he lays down in the bed beside me.
Touching, groping and mauling; covering my eyes so I can't see.

He took away my childhood and my trust and self-esteem.
A pleading child without a voice, invisible as it would seem.
"So yes my daughter there are monsters, everywhere we look."
Stating as I remembered my childhood and everything he took.

Freak Show

Hello? Hello? Is anyone here? I am here for the “Freak Show”. Fine don't come out. If you can't see yourself in a mirror, Come here Come here. If you don't fit in, Come here Come here. If you're full of terror, Come here Come here. If your made of tin, Come here Come here. Cause it's time, it's time, for the Freak Show, To unleash their wild pack, To come out of a shack, To show your wild side, To show you won't bite. Cause it's time for the Freak Show, To come out from the dark, To do your freaky march, To come unrap, To lay down flat. It's time for the Freak Show. Down here we don't judge, We don't care if your fudge, If you have flames, Or even fangs, If your made of fur, or if you purr, Come down for the Freak Show. 30 seconds on the clock, Those hands go tik tok, It's almost time for halloween night, Get ready for a real fright! Just scare those kids, Into little bits, I'm sure they won't mind, It isn't a crime, Invite them inside, For a little surprise, You are supernatural, Or even bichemical. WELCOME HOME.

Haunted House

There’s an abandoned house down the lane A dark place that no one ever dares to enter through It’s been said that all who lived there went insane So they shut it down, yet it holds an evil way of staring at you You might here the creaking of large iron doors As evil lurks beyond the gates, hatred is its score Only the bravest of men should dare enter its lure Even those will be screaming "I don't want any more" The windows reflect red piercing eyes that look deep within your soul Seeing the fear that runs a chill through your bones Because you know the history that this house dwells A gateway people say leads to the depths of hell The house is the epitome of what is evil A living, breathing entity of which is hate A deep darkness, a fear that this is real Kills all that enter here, meeting their fate Last Halloween night, one person was dared to go in So he walked over to the door and turned to look at his friends where they stood Then suddenly the door violently opened wide and something grabbed him Ever since then they see him as a decaying ghost that roams around the neighborhood

Halloween World

The Halloween world moves only at night
        We’ve got spooky food, a mighty skull cake
	Full of little skulls and blood that is fake

The witches arrive and fly out of sight
	Leading the way of all the devilish fiends
	Where monsters follow evil and hate it seems

The Jack-O-Lantern is lit and stays on tonight
	Warming the hearts of many people around
	The feel of Halloween, it comes and surrounds

Halloween is the night that fills me with delight
	A comforting intensity fills my humble soul
	Where terror and fear comes and takes its toll

The Halloween world moves only at night

Death Glen

On the dark ancient dirt path they’re walking A young girl and boy going down the path Each with a lit jack-o-lantern pumpkin With faces of evil, lurid with wrath They shake with fear on this Halloween night Knowing there are things lurking beyond sight Just then Judy trips on an old raised root Down she goes, to the mercy of the night A specter, from the deep forest, greets them The two scream, just for it to be taken And absorbed by the fearful ghost present They run, two spooked kids running, not faking At once they stop, and look where they are now Somewhere deep inside the midnight forest The full moon offers little light for them While a witch flying, there’s no time to rest After running again in sheer terror Seeing their lives in real danger again They see lights ahead, hope it’s the city After they enter, they know the Death Glen Witches of all shapes and colors great them Offer them protection from the forest However they stay away from pumpkins Kids realize now the jack-o-lanterns jest Their parents knew just how to protect them Through another path they find their way back Will always keep a lit pumpkin with them Halloween is frightening in all black

The Children Of The Streets 3 (2008)

This poem is of gross content and viewers are warned of such.
This is written for the children, none of us knows the sufferings they must endure
by the hands of their captors. Let their voices be heard in the night. Do not
turn a blind eye just so you can attempt an escape from reality. Listen for once and maybe
one child will be safe in the night.
   Wickedness lives in our world and children will continue to suffer by their hands
unless we the responsible take charge of our responsibilities and keep watch
over them, That is our solemn duty, do it right.
   For the sake of the children.

Tonight I search for tasty treats
All the lovely children of the streets
They are everywhere walking
Alone, serene
I'm going to love this Halloween.
.
   Hello there children, lovely night
Don't grip your bags of candy so tight
Smile my sweet
Have fun, lets play
Tomorrow you will not see the day.
.
   Try not to be frightened, all is well
Although you think that you are in hell
Come here my love
Lets dance, lets sing
I am going to do everything.
.
   Tommy, you and Sarah play
On top, yes right, that's the way
Does it feel good?
Isn't this sweet?
This is wonderful, EAT YOUR MEAT!
.
   Did that hurt? Well lets try it like this
There my dear now this is bliss
I love you Tommy
So smooth, so soft
I'll leave you to sleep here in the loft.
.
   Oops, I'm sorry, Tommy died
Come here Sarah, you'll be the bride
Touch me there
Thats right lets taste
Turn around love while I hold your waist.
.
   Do not worry love, it's supposed to bleed
This is how two now become three
Oh well, too bad
You didn't last long
Your cries, your whimpers were lovely song.
.
   Now will I sleep amongst the dead
While sweetened thoughts dance through my head
Until next years Halloween
The night will bring me beautiful treats
All the lovely children of the streets.

Webs, Pumpkins, and a Cauldron

Here we go, Halloween is here, finally I sure look forward to these happier nights A wondrous short segment of reality A grand time brought to us full of sweet delights Outside where the lamppost rests are spider webs Waiting for the fog to reach, perfectly said And the great aura that Halloween night shows I completely and wholly desire to know To feel the awesomeness, the fully dark sight The bleak wind slowly breezes its way inside I devour the nature of Halloween night Sometimes I find myself wanting to abide Giving all of me into the creation Pumpkins becoming a delightful nation Sitting next to the sleek lamppost they’re glowing Halloween’s got its powers and is showing It reaches a nice place so perfect and true This night is special, cool in its unique way You want to display everything that’s brand new A brand new Halloween which you see today There’s a cauldron near the lamppost just sitting Whistling a tune from over its hot kindling The scene with the webs, pumpkins, and a cauldron Bringing Halloween its power, just hang on

Halloween Thoughts

If I didn’t think that Halloween was so special
I would think that it was dull and quite boring
I love Halloween and all of its wonder
I think it’s the greatest holiday of the year
But if I never thought of it that way
I would think it was the worst possible day
I’m fascinated by all the devilish things around
The sincere innocence of this time astounds
If I didn’t think of all of this splendor
I would think that the innocence is just a front
A front of the evil that could be played
But I don’t think that, I believe it is a great time
A time of joyful glee and trick or treating
Dressing up in costumes and going to parties
I would hate all of this, if I thought differently
I wouldn’t enjoy the full moon, and the black cats
The witches and creatures of the deep would be my boon
But my heart is with this Holiday, everything it stands for
The fun of the skeleton dances and the bats that fly
I love to think of the Jack-O-Lanterns that smile at night
But if my thoughts would change, I wouldn’t enjoy
All of these feelings that I do love to employ
Spiders and maggots, creatures of the night
I wouldn’t stand for them, I would hate this sight
I however think what I do think, simply delightful
I will always love Halloween and all its wonder
The festivities of the season will remain in my heart

waiting on october

when the sun finally shines its last hot beams of
annoying rays down upon the slimy suntan-lotion-saturated
bodies &
the convertibles get taken back in the garages &
the vast groups of lame ass motorcyclists who drive only during
the summer months (gliding on their gross neon-colored crotch-rockets)
disappear &
the swimsuits, tank-tops, flip-flops & birkenstocks are all
stuffed back into their proper drawer in the dresser
(with all the sand cleaned from every nook and cranny in question) &
all those little kiddies hawking their lemonade all have to go back to school
(thus closing up those awful stands that pitifully provoke people into pretending that they wanted a dixie cup of watered down yellow sugar) &
the clothes hardly covering any of the strapping young lads
and the sexy young ladies all are traded in for clothes that do the exact opposite &
all the bugs start to die while the birds start to think very seriously about beginning to pack up the ol’ nest n’ begin flying south &
all the picnic-fanatics go back inside &
all the campers are done masquerading as outdoorsmen & women (going back to the cities where they came from) &
all the country folk who took their lil’ vacations to exciting metropolitan settings & tropical paradises have gone back to their mundane towns & villages &
we who love the changing foliage,
the apple cider donuts,
the colder temperatures nuzzling their way in,
the shorter days coming,
the crisp breeze blowing,
the pumpkin spiced coffee drinks, pumpkin pie, pumpkin muffins & pumpkin cookies,
the cardigans, flannel shirts, jeans, hoodies & all other of our layers
finally broke out for our comfortable frumpiness,
the scented candles burning throughout,
the little rugrats (probably the same ones that were hawking the yellow sugar water) dressing up for their halloween &
halloween in general---
will no longer be waiting on october.

HOW COULD SHE!

She was raised in a loving home
learned the Bible at a young age
yet tonight she sits in county jail
felony charges for lying and theft
hanging over her beautiful blond head.

She'd just gotten a great job
after graduating from high school
they'd even given her, her own car
trusting her with their patients
whose lives are so fragile.

And her best friend is out on bond;
the poor dear didn't even know
a friend could do a thing like that
getting her into trouble with lies
she had so blindly believed.

Like a fox, hiding the truth
behind a bushy flick of the tail
she'd been told a tall, tall tale
that the jewelry belonged to
the friend asking her to pawn it.

Now they are both in big trouble
probably scared out of their minds
like children lost in the dark
unable to find their way home
on a cold Halloween night.

They've long ago lost their candy
it's been taken by some big bullies
they cannot hide behind their masks
as these too have been stolen
by some pretty awful mug shots.

SEPTEMBERS

In September I remember the summer that went by
I remember in september those birds that flew so high.
 Halloween is comming, thanksgiving after that
 then Christmas time is here again and santa's oh so fat
New years should be fun, then soon there will be rain
it is then the cloths we wear can not be the same.
 In natures ever cycle we call this time the fall
 where in the breeze thats blowing, natures slumber calls
We sweep and rake the leaves, thats scattered all about
while all the time we're knowing, in the spring time seeds will sprout.
 In September i remember those days that seemed to last
 I remember in September, these years go by so fast.

Stranger at Halloween

On this Halloween night
A stranger came to my home
My parents invited him in
From his cold nightly roam

I hear them talking
As he comes every year
My father distraught
My mother in tears

He stays for a while
As they chat away
Sometimes they laugh
But, mostly it's grey

Its hours later
As i hear the front door
This stranger has gone
Just like the years before

I'm older now
And as curious as can be
As i follow the stranger
Down a dark local alley

In the distance i see him
To the cemetery he heads
This night of all nights
To the place of the dead

Brave as i am
To follow him there
Its as far as i go
From a distance I'll stare

He disappears
Into the mist
As i head off home
My question is wished

Mum and dad
Who was that man
He comes every year
For a chat and a dram

Son, the man who left
Died so long ago
During World War II
At Scapa Flow

He can never rest
For his soul is forsaken
The loss of his colleagues
In the war were taken

A German U-Boat
The U47

And sent them to heaven

That's the story

Her Every Desire

Her Every Desire

She is like the gangrel bat
All dead tails
Paled
And white lace
Black painted fingernails
Softened by whimsical’s
Wide eyed
Over a thin lip tea cup
She smiles

Reading the leaves of a bedraggled misfortune
Your own
Over purple velvet cloth
Where many a throat
Has stained its last
She simpers
Tittering on her be-witch-craft
Flashes bedeviled laughs
Behind the net and beaded veil
The glint of eyes as cold as steel

The last drunken fool you
Of the roadside café
Does not sense the spindle legs
Creeping in a shadows pool
By final cast edge of window light
A frantic dagger clutched to her breast
In the crypt chill of her black tattered dress
“May I read your fortune?” she says

She holds out her palm white spider web
You see the crimson painted lips
The soft swell snow of her rising breasts
As wide come hither pupils beckon
And the vodka thinks it’s a pass for sex
You’re taken in
On the promises of that low cut dress
And into her vice your upturned hand is pressed

Her sultry whisper lingers on a hiss
“Oh tonight’s your lucky night yessssssssssssssss
“You are going on a journey yesssssssssssssssssss” she says
“Uhuh mmmmm you will forefill her every desire
“In a room of purple and red yessssssssssssssssssss
The alcohol distillation of your senses
Has no apprehension
And that cocky self surety lets her lead you from the room
Out into the thick dank chill
Of a Halloween night

“Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss”

Gargoyles Keep Watch

The bats fly away in the deep of the night
And the ravens aren’t that far behind
These creatures filter and are thusly aligned

The black cats skirt around the coffins alright
The ones which contain the skeletons
Where the night surely goes and beckons

Jack-O-Lanterns bring about a lot of fright
Their frightening faces will scare anyone
With the eerie light deep inside that’s molten

The cemetery is the zombie’s great delight
Where they eat to their fill from the graves
The gravestones all have their names engraved

There are witches that fly about in the firelight
Casting curses to all that dare to walk about
Scaring all those fearful below without a doubt

All these creatures wander about this midnight
Under a full moon, the gargoyles keep watch
And life within Halloween kicks it up a notch

The bats fly away in the deep of the night
The black cats skirt around the coffins alright
Jack-O-Lanterns bring about a lot of fright
The cemetery is the zombie’s great delight
There are witches that fly about in the firelight
All these creatures wander about the midnight

Curse of Hate

The witches held men Up against the wall of pain Where they are shackled To take the brunt of the curse Leaving them helpless to hate They will infect more Of their own people in town Creating hate throughout The townsfolk fear their return How they will spread hate around Death sure soon follows To kill the many lost ones The curse will live on Through the few that were taken Where Halloween brought a curse

The Way I See Halloween

Signifying the season One that my heart follows Flowing through my veins She laughs at me And my desires Trick or treats lasts only For as long as dusk But then the real life Of Halloween begins Even days before The love is shown The house full of Delightful pumpkins Carved in horrid faces Witches potions around With the hats to show They were there The skeletons baste In the yard Glows under the moon Spider webs spread about Mummies sit on the porch With the many pumpkins Of the Jack-O-Lantern sort And with the skeletons Are the scarecrows That hold the ravens That follow me around Lights are eerie And turned down low This night keeps me up With its electrifying show Dancing with the evil Only found on this night Brings a subtle joy inside No man can comprehend It’s truly amazing The enormous feelings That ghosts feel too This is why she laughs at me

Just Listen

No sounds
no instrumental
Just my breathing
and my beating heart
forgive me but I'm trying
to be sentimental
I just don't know where to start
how does one get in your heart?
I'm searching for diamonds
not the broken parts

Your beautiful and
My emotions are high
and I don't know what
I'm getting into
but do we really need a reason why
when our heart sees potential
I think I'm definitely worth
getting into
I'm pouring out my heart
just using a paper and a pencil
my two favorite utensils

I wanted to avoid spilling my heart
like a cold coffee being knocked over
Love has knocked me down
and I'm still slouching over
I want you near me
because it feels as natural
as having Halloween candy on
October 31.

I bet you could rip through this plastic rap
and find the real me using just your teeth
and I know you could savor me like cake down underneath
but all sexual stuff aside I really just want
you to hear me.

Feel me.
The real me.
No distractions.
I only hope for a positive reaction.
Your lips on mines intertwined
Just listen to my body
and the beating of my heart
than maybe you'll know where
to start.

The Unsurpassed Magic Of Autumn

It's not just the colorful display by mother nature,
With her painted trees, nor her whispy clouds,
Escorting in the premier chills of this sweet time to be alive,
Or the eye treat of our little dressed up trick-or-treaters,
Nor just the first hint of comfortable sleeping weather,

I somehow associate Autumn with a magic moon,
Hanging in the sky, it's light dispelling all gloom,
A sight that never failed to thrill me....
It's moonbeams passing though my windows,
Enriching my bedroom...and all that I see...

In Autumn, I'm always a child....
I time travel back...
And the joy is more than wild,
I remember how it meant,
Christmas was coming soon,
I'd take possession of the Speigel Catalogue,
And walk in circles in the dining room,
Dreaming of toys I wanted so bad...
Staring at their pictures, the longing so sad...

Then there was the outdoor fun,
Of jumping in leaf piles,
And Halloween traditions.
Scary stories,
Bobbing for apples,
Cupcake parties in school,
Anyone not excited, was some kind of fool...

Yes, Autumn has always been,
My favorite time of year,
A time we all face,
Our sub-conscious fear...

But fear is an activator
Of many fine things,
We grow closer to our families,
To protect us from harm...

And at it's root core,
Autumn has so much charm.

I'm Sorry

I didn't mean to I swear
It was an accident no doubt
That Halloween night
We both went out

It was supposed to be fun
And cause a terrible fright
To those who walked by
On an innocent night

Turns out it did scare
But in a different way
I hope you can forgive me
For what I did to you that day

I was a cowgirl
I didn't know it was loaded
We were playing around
The whole thing exploded

She lay on the ground
It must be her fate
I called for help
But it was too late

I killed her that night
With a backfiring gun
I shouldn't have given it to her
But I can't fix what I've done

I just thought I should say
Goodbye to you all
I'm going to find her now
I've learned pride comes before a fall

I know you've been hurt
I've done this to you
I'm doing what I can
This is what I can do

I'm going to find her
And make sure she's okay
Make sure she's happy
I'm going today

I'm raising the gun
Putting it to my head
I'll die like she did
God, take me instead
