SWEET ISLAND GIRL

Early morn
Birds still sleep
Crickets warm
Not a peep
Coffee in hand
Dreams are free
Thinking of you
Thinking of me
Last night's prayer
Has made it here
Rain soaked skies
Begin to clear
And what I see
On distant shore
Sweet Island girl
I long for more
Hear your heart
We are in tune
I love you so
I'm coming soon

"Life's Absolute Epigrams" (for 2010)

Christian Love frame

The only need for death to every exist
Was to slay the fictional self
And all the embellishments used to support it

Fear not, Love’s little flock
You will not be set to fly
And then be allowed to fall

To be strong in your Love
Is to inherit the power of God
That now lies dormant in your essence

For your possession of absolute truth
Is a point at which your Love and your reality
Both become one in God

Slaying your fictional self, being honorable
Is your first step toward your recovery
Of your conscious immortality

For what is sin but the force and mischief
Used to instill and empower
Your mentally invented lower realities

Withholding forgiveness
Is the ego’s assault against life
Love does not judge

For what is the mercy of Love
But that it repeats it’s lessons of life
Until they are learn by the mind

For Love already knows,
What life is yet to learn
Therefore learn from who you are
And teach your outer self
Love’s absolute truth

Love is your true reality, a constant source
Has no beginning or no end
The unlimited potential, quite essential

My prayer for 2010 is that;
These proceeding sayings
Become obsolete this year
In the face of your Love itself, Smile!

Stay in your Bibles, my little bibles
For Love is your title
Not your mind of idol!!

Nothing To Fear

Way before the sunrise is when I start my day
I offer thankfulness in the prayer that I pray

I do love the morning with its beautiful sunrise
Especially when reflecting off clouds in the sky

My life is a journey with my soul as the guide
What makes it beautiful is my wife at my side

My children are my strength; encouraging me
I make sure that everyday is truly all it can be

My friends are many though old-friends are few
For I no longer agree with the things that they do

I still hold them all in my prayers and my heart
Nothing in this life could ever pry them apart

So what is the story the meaning of this rhyme?
The blessing is there if we just follow the sign

To accept the blessings the place we must start
Just be as a child and look through your heart

Be as a child; cherish every one of your dreams
If you wish to feed the river than become a stream

Everything will happen in its own time and place
You will truly find peace once you’ve found grace

Since love is the place where we all need to start
Remember, be kind and gentle to your own heart

One day, “Old Saint Peter,” will open up the gate
There is nothing to fear for heaven will be great

The Hypocritical Christian

I am the hypocritical Christian.
I say I follow Christ,
But I'm still consumed by my demons.
I go to church on Sunday,
But I refuse to invite someone back.
I want to serve on mission,
But I'm too afraid to act.
They think I read The Bible,
But I just fall asleep in it.
They think I'm positivity and smiles,
But underneath I'm death and addictions.
They think I'm clean and pure,
But I'm broken and mistaken.
I say I'm not worthy of His love,
But Jesus will never let me be forsaken.
I pray long prayers,
But inside they're empty repetition.
It might look as if my faith is strong,
But my core is too easily shaken.
I say the things I'm supposed to say,
But don't follow His actions or obey.
I speak the truth the church wants to hear,
But deep inside on matters I don't know what to believe.
I walk in shame as if I'm not good enough
To be loved by God and saved through Christ,
But there is nothing I could ever do to earn His peace;
It's a free gift.
I accept;
Now forgiven, changed, and released.
Thank You God,
Thank You Jesus,
Thank You Holy Spirit!
In Jesus' Holy Name,
We pray,
Amen!

Heaven's Grocery Store

Marching down life’s highway, my feet became very sore
I then came upon a sign that read “Heaven’s Grocery Store”
When I got closer the doors swung open wide
Next thing I knew I was standing there inside
I saw a flock of angels positioned everywhere
They handed me a basket and said, “Child shop with care.”
Everything a human required was in that grocery store
With many commodities to carry, you could always come back for more
First I acquired some Patience; Love was in that same row
Further down was Understanding, you require that everywhere you go
I grabbed a box of Wisdom and Faith, a bag or two
And obtained Charity of course but more than just a few
And then reached for Courage to help me run this wicked race
My basket was almost full but remembered some loving Grace
I then chose Salvation for it was advertised as free
I tried to collect enough of that for both you and me
Then I started to the counter to pay my grocery bill
For I thought I had everything to do the Master’s will
As I went up the aisle, I saw Prayer and proceeded put that in
For I knew when I stepped outside I was bound to encounter sin
Peace and Joy were plentiful, the last thing on that shelf
Song and Praise were hanging near so I just helped myself
Then I asked an angel, “Now how much do I owe?”
She smiled and said, “Just take them wherever you may go.”
Again I asked, “No really, how much do I owe?”
“My child,” she said, “God paid your bill a long time ago.”

When Darkness Falls

At night rapscallions in my head
Refuse the coal that scorches dread

And peace, however light the touch
Calms the seas where dragons rush

The crescent moon, my dreams aglow
With love so pure, pearl ivy grows

Hurried heart that once sought fame
Must kindle hope nee shatter shame

Above the sky where Angels dwell
My pealing bark in prayer reveals

A moment filled with His relief
When light grows dim

             Doth vanquish

                                Grief

Remains

Here
In this centrifuge of sanctimony
Where I sip the atrophied air of my ancestors
The shipwrecked tide of my unborn children
Angels dangle from a precipice of silence
Strained by strings of a theoretical God
Sung by eyes of defiance
Which navigate the jagged epitaphs below
Searching
For that one sediment of salvation
That one moment of submission
Hoping he will see
His wonders, atrocities, his indifference
To cast a shadow of conviction
Over shivering light
There
Across the inlet where ivory columns crumbled
And modernity now deftly mumbles
Its fleets of fortune baptized
Nigh the bronze dust of golden millennia
Where history lies with its victims
A fugue of fossilized souls
A silent prayer remains
Here

FORGIVE ME

I have learned the hard way that people aren't always what they seem,
They look you in the eye, shake your hand, then take you to the cleaners.
It's been many a year that I have thought on this theme,
Ever since I was one of those who got caught by these schemers.

It would not be so bad if we could just open our eyes to see,
That they have no ones interest in anything but their own.
Perhaps that is the way it was and always will be,
At least until we have had that experience in our lives sown.

It is difficult to learn to trust anyone who comes to you,
Since you now look at everyone with a skepticism and mistrust.
But, there is one hope in all of this to take away that jaded view,
A hope that has always lain before us in the dust.

It was preached to us in many a form and style,
The Bible, Koran, other great works of religious zeal.
We have had the words written down for quite a while,
Yet, I wonder if those of us who read them really feel.

The great commandment to love God with your whole being,
Has been a message that comes through the ages.
And to love one's neighbor as you do yourself has more meaning,
Only if we try...for this is the yardstick by which the Lord gauges.

As for those who take advantage of others who cannot see,
I feel sorrow for them...for they have lost touch with life.
They may have great wealth, or possessions, or think they're happy,
But the Lord will meet out His justice to them for causing others strife.

As for me, it seems I have been on a long journey and I'm tired,
Tired of watching these villains prey and profit on the ones with naivete and weakness.
Preying on the young, the old, the sick, and those who aspired...
I was once a victim, but have now can only offer forgiveness.

It has taken a long time for me to reach this end,
As I once was so consumed by the sting of the hurt and anger.
On reflection, the only one who was hurt by my not wanting to mend,
Was me...my loved ones...my family...places where I no longer linger.

I write this now because it seems a necessity for me,
To express my feeling and thoughts on a life that was truly dead.
And to you who read this I have but one plea,
Say a silent prayer for my forgiveness from the Lord, when you bow your head.

peace from dead skinned fingers

It's minor keys that resonate, I'll stay up late and wait
then in between the silence I'll hear the sound
of steel and cedar, the slow rebound
wrapping around my reflective heart
and so it comes, this slow release
brings me peace in dead skinned fingers.
It's me who lingers unanswered and unsolved
even after prayer wheels have been revolved.
The answer is not to doubt at all,
to take our backs from off the wall,
but still these shapes take precedence,
a permanent tenement residence
of twos and blue toned cadence.

That perfection goes unnoticed
would be easier to bare
if there was someone there to share
the exquisite madness and requisite gladness
who's roots draw from melancholy
but the apple that fell on me
knocking sense into me
bruising my head
releases me, brings peace to me
instead.

MAXIMUS

There is a spirit that watches over you
In the daylight hours, and nightime too.

You may not think that they are there
But there is a way to make you aware.

I learned the name of my angel a long time ago
Because I was interested and I wanted to know.

His name is "Maximus" and is with me here
To learn of his presence once made me fear.

Because what you do is watched all the day
The angel keeps tabs, God finds out that way.

I guess you think I'm being naive
Trust your faith, if you believe.

If you want to know your angel's name
There is a way to find out which is no game.

Say a prayer for three days in a row
And after each time ask him to reveal his name to you.

If you believe in him he will tell you true
If not, he may be silent to you.

I know of others who have tried this I can say
Some, have learned the names of their angels this way.

When you pray for their name do not think it absurd
Some, I know, will hear that singular word.

It won't come as a shout from heaven on high
But rather as a whisper, when your angel is nigh.

These spiritual beings are here for us all
Sometimes they wait just to here us call.

And when you do wouldn't if be grand
If you knew the spirit's name...who behind you stands!

Try it and see if you think I'm fooling around
Be honest with yourself with both feet on the ground.

As someday that spiritual angel you will greet
Wouldn't it be nice to be on a "first name" basis when you meet?

And if you try but do not hear their name
Keep on trying because your conviction was lame.

I know many will think I'm crazy with this
But knowing my angel's name has brought comfort and bliss.

So try it yourself and see if in kind
If your angel will speak to you...they really don't mind.

Because then a dialogue with them you can share,
Even if they never speak again, you'll know...they're there.

I can can see for miles

I hoped that bird could have stayed,
It’s cloaked behind decisions I’ve made.
A few feathers and sand, the price is paid,
As they slip away the memory fades…

One of the feathers I use to write.
It grants me vision where there was no sight.
A beacon to guide me out of the night,
I shall squeeze by, though it’s rather tight…

The words it reveals become part of me,
These sunken eyes still can see.
With a wing and a prayer I shall be,
The words in turn shall set me free…

One day I wish and hope to fly,
Sometimes the moment just passes by.
I know that I must, so I will try,
This is when I soar through the sky…

Meanwhile time passes through my fingers.
Everything’s gone only a little taste lingers.
Still with my friends I can’t help but smile.
From way up here, I can see for miles…

Me, Myself, and I - (Part 1)

Hello Friends... I suffer from Severe Bi-Polar Disorder and this submission was inspired by
actual events that occured during one of my especially critical manic episodes. Be sure and
read Part 2 to complete the poem and leave your comments on the Part 2 submission. Thank
you for allowing me to share my pain for pain shared is pain diminished

Me, Myself, and I...

“There are things that concern us,”
		Consensed my “Selves” in earnest
““We” fear that “I” have succumbed to delusion”

“And after careful deliberation
		It is with much hesitation
That we choose to delineate upon this confusion”

“Fact is your intuition
		Is riddled with superstition
And your judgment leaves much to be desired”

“So you leave us no recourse
Don’t push us to use force”
It is then that the “I” was summarily fired

I exclaimed “By whose authority?” Response, “Rule of majority”
“The “Myself” and the “Me,” (forthwith the “We”), are experts in our field”

“And with much technique and time
And some forays into the sublime
The nature of your malady will be revealed”

“So to keep yourself from having a fit
Step back and just calm down a bit”
“We,” they said, “certainly have this under control”

“We swear this won’t hurt at all”
Then I felt my inhibitions fall
Still I said a prayer to God that He keep my soul

You know, fact is I do feel off axis
		As evidenced by such parapraxis
As this prose that I, (or is it “Us”), seek to pen

And with my mind feeling numb
		I finally chose to succumb
And allow the “Me” and the “Myself” to begin

And then came questions in a flurry
Answer, answer and please do hurry
Not one moment of respite did they give

They pushed and they prodded
With every “T” crossed and “I” dotted
My mind felt like it had gone through a sieve

And all this psycho-analysis
		Is causing my mind paralysis
The questions, can you stop with the questions please

“Yes, oh yes indeed
I do believe we have what we need
To make an attempt to identify your unknown neuroses”

I Serve The Lord

I serve the Lord
	By the things I do
            	I am his servant
                       		 These words are true
My eyes have seen things
          Only evil men know
          		My heart has lived places
                       		 Only evil men go
My mind has thought things
	Only evil men think
            	My lips have tasted things
                        	Only evil men drink
I have lived places
	Only evil men live
		I have gave orders
                       		Only evil men give
I once traded my soul
	To live in a flask
            	I lived in the shadows
                       		Adorned with a mask
My truth is my honor
	My words are my plight
	 	I serve the Lord
By the words that I write
I no longer grow old
By the light of the moon
            	No longer is my soul
			Swimming in a spoon
I serve the Lord
By the things that I do
Have no doubt in your heart
			These words are true
Once in a miracle
Through the words of a rhyme
		A sinner found Christ
			And stopped doing time
Set free on a mission
	To enlighten your soul
		I follow the Lord
			In search of my goal
The man that I was
	No longer exist
		He died the first time
			My wife and I kissed
Inside of a box
	I decided to pray
		Stepping out of the darkness
			  Embracing the day
I serve the Lord
	Through the words I write
		Your soul is my mission
			Serving God is my plight
I don’t criticize or judge
	That’s just not my way
		I simply bow my head
			And for everyone I pray
The prayer is quite simple
	It’s a spiritual bath
		I just ask the Lord
			To enlighten your path
The brighter the light
	The lighter the Son
		When this life is over
			This job will be done
I follow the Lord
	He guides my path
		It’s all very simple
			No complicated math
I serve the Lord
	In all that I do
If you wish to know why
			It’s because I love you

My Conversation With God

I have been praying to God ever since I first understood the concept of a deity. Although I have struggled through life with my acceptance of and belief in the religion I was force fed as a child, the praying has always stayed with me – on an almost every day basis. In some way or some form or for some reason, it seems, I find myself praying to a God I am not sure I believe in.

Over the years, some of the things I have prayed for or prayed against have worked out in my favor. Other things didn’t quite work out the way I had hoped. So, I wondered, was this proof that my prayers are sometimes answered or simply the law of averages? It really didn’t matter, I was programed to pray and so pray I do.

This has been going on pretty routinely for over 50 years; so, imagine my surprise when, for the first time last night, God talked back to me!

I may not get this exactly right, but, in essence, this is what He had to say:

(I am not sure what font to type God’s words in, so I will just keep on with the default.)

“Joe, Joe, Joe. I have been listening to you for all your life. And, whereas I do enjoy your thoughts; your words; and your sentiments; I find it is time for me to respond.

You really do pray a lot for lots of things. Mostly good and humane things. Mostly with a pure and caring heart. But, son, you need to stop doing so much praying and start doing more stuff on your own. I am not up here to make your life easier and to do things for you.

When you were young, instead of praying for that bicycle, you should have been doing chores to earn money towards buying it. You could have cut more lawns, washed more cars, got a paper route, sold lemonade, or many other things other young boys were doing to earn money for the things that they wanted.

When you were in high school and prayed to me to help you do well in your wrestling matches, you should have, instead, been working harder at practice; spent more time on your conditioning; spent more time in the weight room; and studied harder on the art of wrestling.

In college, when you prayed for help on your mid-terms and finals, you should have, instead, spent more time studying and less time partying – I think that is something you already know.

Even when you pray on behalf of others – you should be doing more.

Instead of praying I would help old Mrs. Conner at the end of your street, you should have gotten up off your butt and walked down to the end of the street and looked in on her yourself. You could have offered to go to the store for her, pick up her prescriptions or simply keep her company in her final years.

When you prayed for me to care for the starving children around the world, you should have been volunteering to help out yourself or donating more money towards this cause. If you funneled all the money you spent on unnecessary junk food and extra meals you consumed throughout the years towards charities that help feed and clothe the poor, you could have saved many of the children you prayed that I would save.

Instead of praying that I cure your family, friends and acquaintances that you knew were ill or dying, you should have been visiting them in the hospital or writing them letters or providing assistance to their loved ones to help ease their pain.

Prayer is not the vehicle for you to be lazy and yet gain the rewards. Prayer is not a means to have me do for others what you have the power and ability to do yourself.

I am glad that you talk to me, but you have been granted the ability and means to do so much more by yourself and yet you choose to take the easy way out and pray to me – the God that I know you are confused about. Please, do me a favor, and before you pray, ask yourself, ‘Have I exhausted all avenues available to me to achieve the result I want God to perform?’

If, after you have done everything you can possibly do, then I may be more willing to consider what it is you ask for.

And now, my son, you can wake up.”

I sat up quickly in my bed, sweating and confused. Was I just dreaming? Was that really God talking to me? Then, somewhere from deep inside, either from my conscious or a left-over message from the Almighty Himself, I thought (or heard): “What does it matter? Whether it was God or not – the message is valid and something I probably already knew.”

“Well,” I said to myself, in prayer, “I will give it my best. But, is it okay if we still talk? It kind of helps to give me strength?”

Silence.

I will take that as a, “Yes”.

Mind and Sound

Only light can penetrate the
darkness
that resides in the default state
of mind
I descend from beta to delta
through
binaural beats; instantly caught
between frequencies beyond
time

I absorb amplitudes of acoustic
energy
and I learn to just be earth
Since I am the earth
and because I am of
the one that is the source of its
existence,
I've owned the power of
omnificence

I realize now that I AM because
HE is since I am from that, a
descendant
Created in the image of a
thought
and a feeling from the
Universal Mind
I tune in to this vibration from
rhythmic
pulse that manipulates
subconscious minds

Immersed between 4 and 7
hertz;
brainwaves halt to a conscious
sleep
All chakras are aligned shining
crown energy
and now my consciousness
begins to reap!
and light begins to penetrate
the harmonious beams
that were already there
constant and always there

is now flooded with sound
patterns
that force brainwaves to submit
to power
of omnipresent sound that
always was
and always will be connected to
the Source from which I came
so I extend exponentially
beyond;
physical time and space

I long to embrace the intensity
of gamma rays
I give way to the coded sounds
that resonate from the inner
core
and continue to connect
through the binaural beats that
-
remind me of before

Always familiar but ignored
until found by gaining
knowledge of self
I listen with the intent to excel
while reaping an abundance of
benefits and rewards
Listen!!
It's already yours

Just reach out and grab it
as long as intention and ego is
checked
the universe will correspond
accordingly
it will deliver a life to you divine
and orderly
Just listen to the sounds that
were there from before
They will guide to to the
vibration from the core
and it will guide you to connect
directly with the source

Let's Praise the Lord

Let’s praise the Lord!
All you people of the land!
Let’s praise him with every
Instrument we have on hand!

Let’s shout praises to his
wonderful name!
A message of rejoicing,
we need to proclaim!

Let’s come before him,
with love from our hearts!
This is where a victorious
life really starts!

Let’s bring him our thanks
and appreciation!
And sing of his tender mercy
and wondrous salvation!

Let’s bring him a heart filled
With hope and cheer!
The coming of the lord,
is so very near!

We bless the father, the spirit
and son!
Through the blood of Jesus,
we have overcome!

The Eye

The eye,a sign the
unwise can't comprehend
  Forged from the world's
origin,an
illumination in darkened
minds,for the
enlightened ones like
Leonardo da Vinci,Isaac
Newton,John Milton....etc.
   The eye is a tree
with many branches like
Priory of Scion,Knight
templars,I.O.G.T,United
Nations,Masonic
Lodge,Music industry,
Politics,global economy,
etc
stretching beyond
human imaginations-felt
in all corners of earth.
  The world is clothed
through wisdom from
above.
   The eye,all seeing
sign,an invincible
emblem of power and
riches to the lion hearted
and loyal souls.
A seat of influence and
fame.
  Creating the social order
through men of power....
  Some see it as a
curse,others a blessing.
I feel it,the great eye is
everywhere watching
you!

Your Eyes

 (Dedicated to Folake)

Your eyes, woman
are like twilight rainbow
amorously bearing aloft passions of mine
toward androcytic ecstacy.
They tell of endless lights.

Night skies clarion the warmth of you
keep me balled-up till
i am tilted to your adorned essence.

May I call up words to adore you,
agglomerate them into a panoply of worshippers
unsandalled before you
like Moses at the burning bush.

And now you seem to fall asleep
but you tell me it's the heavy night
bidding toward a sunny dawn
wherein our love is lighted.

Slowly I let you fall asleep
impatient with the long night
waiting to gaze once more
into the eyes of my lovely love.

Then a lip is placed on yours
and you rouse up wide-eyed
smiling at my romantic move.
We enjoyed the night, cruising on.

Our Invincible Defeat

The inner and the outer,
Are dissolving fast in space.
The ominous clouds of thunder,
Are covering your face.

The meek the mild and innocent,
Are trampled under feet,
As we go one marching blindly,
To our invincible defeat.

No more calling softly,
No more calling you,
We've lost our hope and loving,
What once we thought was true.

And now the choice is coming,
Riding on a wave,
To be a free man dying,
Or be a mad man's slave.

And now the drums are drumming,
Drumming down the line,
Will you be marching forwards?
Will you be deaf and blind?

Will the light of sacred meaning?
Shine from bottom of your heart?
As the soldiers go on marching,
Tearing our humanity apart.

The Wisdom of a Simple Man

I remember eating dinner in the glow of the burning lamps.
We all dipped our bread into a common bowl of oil.
A little bread, a little cheese, some salt, an apple, a little wine.
But for the salt all the fruits of our own labors. And Gods.
The enjoyment of fellowship and family at table and fireside.
Laughter and the soft sounds of evening chores and talk.
Discussing the work to be done tomorrow and next week.
Telling the old tales, the good ones, and the family stories.
Children learn who they are from this and will remember.
Maybe a song or two, all voices raised, some sweet, some not.
Childrens prayers before bed, every night, from this comes faith.
A cuddle and a kiss with your wife, to let her know she's beautiful.
A snuggle with her beneath the warm blankets, face on a cool pillow,
And a whispered prayer of thanksgiving before sleep takes you.
God gave every man a brain, two hands and a heart.
With these tools we can build all of these things.
With all of these gifts, who needs more?

The Wedding

Sometimes things are up,
And sometimes they are down,
Sometimes black is white,
And sometimes it is brown.
All the rivers flowing,
Back to the sacred sea,
All the monkeys climbing,
Up the very same tree.
You think you know a lot,
Think you know it all,
But the autumn leaves are falling,
At the north wind's lonely call.
The thinking of the meaning,
The reasons lost and gone,
At last the place is ready,
A vacant holy throne.
The emptiness that fill you,
Fills you from inside,
Is the treasure you are holding,
The bridegroom's holy bride.
And now the north wind's blowing,
Blowing down the Way,
And now we sit here waiting,
For the bridegroom's wedding day.

Bravery

It's not a lesson to be taught
Or a skill to be acquired
It's the nudge to move forward
Open when the time is right
It's the spirit inside
God leading on the way
On the journey to discover
He is all you need
It's the courage to let go
Say yes instead of no
Reveal what you've been holding back
As Jesus takes the wheel
It's the realization that it doesn't matter
What others think of you
God leads you where you're meant to be
Just allow you to be you
It's the standing up to fear
Proclaiming "fear's not gonna win!"
The battle has been fought too long
Time to let the stalemate end
It's the inspiration you've been holding
For others and for yourself
The light we've been dimming
Rather than shining on His behalf
It's the spontaneity in the decision
To follow His call all the way
Discovering peace in being you
Wide open as the perfect creation you are
The world out there is brutal
But there's a Holy Man holding out His Hand
His bravery now is all we have
But His bravery of love is all we need
May God bless you!

A Simple Lesson

My younger days, I had naught.
At least, that was what I thought.
Fame and riches, the goals I sought.
Wanting only things that could be bought.
Day after day, for them I fought;
And in the game, I was caught
In the cold and ruthless life I’d wrought.

As life progressed, I began to see
That not all things had price or fee,
The most beautiful things are truly free,
Hope and joy, compassion and empathy,
Someone to love and to love me.
And in my quiet moments, I began to plea;
And so, my true happiness came to be.

Others could share in this lesson too.
You can believe my words are true;
But it seems a lesson valued by few.
Instead of a life and memories you rue,
Reappraise your life and what you do.
It’s never too late to renew
Your life and be…….. a happier you.

I Know Of Someone Holding Unforgiveness

I Know of Someone Holding Unforgiveness! I know of someone holding unforgiveness! This has led to a life of much bitterness! Toward his brother, he’s held on to a grudge. From his viewpoint, he won’t even “budge.” No matter what God’s word has clearly spoken… He’s walked with a heart that’s been broken! His son prayed that God would speak to him! That he would forgive, so God could heal him! Forgiveness is a powerful thing to do! If you want God’s mercy to flow through you! We’re not called to “hold back,” the love God’s given! Through Christ shed blood… We’re all forgiven! May the love of Christ come and touch us! It’s no secret how much God really loves us! Please come Lord Jesus! And touch our soul! May we express your love, wherever we go! May God’s gentle love, be what always binds us! HIS words; “love one another,” do remind us! By Jim Pemberton

A Prayer For My Girls - If I should die before I wake

A prayer for my girls ~ If I should die before I wake

To my girls I would write

Mommy will always love you ~ I never placed anyone above you

You are my world and the reason for my life ~ I did my best though I didn’t get
everything right

You both gave me the courage and strength to fight ~ Your lives gave me direction
and your love was my light

Even though my body is no longer here ~ don’t you fear ~ my spirit is always near

Each night you get on your knees to pray ~ remember this prayer ~ Promise me to
say
“Dear God please tell mommy we said hi
That we understand that all people must die
We know she is safe with you in the sky
She is an Angel with wings and can now fly
We promise to make her proud
Our dreams will reach beyond the clouds
Tell her that we are okay and we remember her everyday
She is in our hearts where she will forever stay
We know she did her best ~ and that her soul can now rest
Please tell mommy we love her again and again…”
	Amen

A Very Inviting Temptation

A Very Inviting Temptation! I remember of a particular situation. I was offered a very "inviting" temptation. The situation I was in... I didn't belong! And lost any sense of "right and wrong." At first... I felt no guilt or shame. And brought embarrassment to my family's name. I tried to explain this to my wife and kids. I heard; "Dad... please... no more fibs!" The Godly principles were "tossed to the side," As the sin inside caused arrogance and pride. Soon, all in my life that truly mattered... Was gone! My life was empty and shattered! I was sorry for all of the problems I caused! This time... I took a moment to pause. I cried to God to rescue me from my sin. I confessed! Would God help me once again? I read in the Bible of Jesus’ grace and love! This time the help I needed had to come from above! I asked him for a fresh and brand new start. He removed the stain from a broken heart. He restored to me the joy I once had. I'm so blessed! Jesus has made me glad! Jesus is the reason I'm here today! I LOVE HIM more than words can say! By Jim Pemberton

A Selfish Prayer

It's hard when I see so much pain,
Filled with life's many hardships,
All these troubled souls praying,
For miracles through their worships,

Even at home they are lost,
And muddle through their days,
'Release us from our lots',
They cry out from their maze,

Yet I find it even harder still,
When I must stand here and watch,
With neither the way or the will,
To give what little I've got,

So Lord I pray you fill my cup,
Give me the success and station,
Where hope can spring from love,
To answer all this frustration,

Let me afford more than simple words,
Grant me the means to answer prayer,
Lay before me a path true and sure,
To receive great fruit I can share,

My life has taught me so very much,
As my prayers so often are granted,
I know what it means to be touched,
By the charity of the enchanted,

It brings a life of such great hope,
To you and all of those you love,
It helps you to widen your scope,
And great faith when times get tough,

So today Lord I finally pray,
For something I never have before,
I pray for riches so very great,
That I would never need to ask for more,

Vast wealth beyond Solomon or Jabez,
Great wisdom and eternal good health,
The power to shape the will of others,
And all the prayers I leave on the shelf,

And I pray that I remain steadfast,
In service to you through my fellow man,
And you answer this prayer however crass,
Before this poem is written by this hand.

Set Me Free

Set me free Lord set me free,
Take this evil I lay with away.
Take this torture turn it astray.
Walk with me just let me be.

Look inside my heart to see,
Erase my mind as I do pray.
Renew my spirit all in a day.
Sign me up for a high decree.

Leave all this as dust in the wind,
Scatter past present and future,
I will not falter nor will I bend,
Send it all away with no suture.

Set me free Lord, take this madness and put it in its place.
I must warn you it wears a mask to cover up its ugly face.

There's A Lot In Life, That I Don't Understand

There’s a lot in life, that I don’t understand! And a lot of wickedness throughout this land! A lot of heartache and misery, is what I’m seeing! Any kind of commitment, seems to be disappearing! Being faithful to anything, seems to be of the past. My lives seem to be falling apart… And fast! Any principles of Godly living, seem to be ignored. So many appear to be, “complacent and bored.” I often wonder what God must be thinking. When it seems like this whole world is “sinking!” I’ve decided to come to Jesus! And really pray! That people will really listen to what God has to say! “What shall the righteous do, if the foundations are destroyed?” Very soon, many of our “freedoms,” will not be enjoyed! Please, dear Jesus, come and heal our broken nation! Help us all to confess our sins! And accept your salvation! Please come and bring your peace and love within! That we may seek the living God! Once again! God is our only hope! It’s in him, that we’re strong! It’s in his arms of mercy, that we all belong! Please God… Come and touch us with your healing! It’s only in you, that we have a true meaning! By Jim Pemberton

Ghazal to Find a Reason

Force of mortal and faceless reason
A dark light finds no fate to reason.

Of cancerous nights, an uprooted slumber
Manic red luster of livid white reason.

No justice refined for the everyman's token
The cavalry's engine, the hum of blind reason.

For heavenly voices a desperate chorus
Numb as in prayer to beseech yet a reason.

One summer's bright flower reborn in a shadow
Calls off the late reaper, a wind of sage reason.

Porn No More

I've watched the war from behind closed doors;
Eyes too glued to close.
And now knowing what's in store, there's porn no more.
God's love is the only hope we know.
We are forgiven because of the love that is Jesus.
We are saved because of the love that is Jesus.
We give our lives to the Father for we are His children and He loves us.
We are loved!
No matter what we've done, we are loved!
Confess and ask for forgiveness;
This is such a beautiful gift!
Thank You God!
Thank You Jesus!
You forgive me!
You save me!
You change me!
I am changed!
I am new!
I am renewed!
I am forgiven!
I am saved!
I am changed!
There's porn no more
For God's hope is in store!
There's porn no more
For God's love is the hope of the world!

Where The Next Dollar Will Come From

I'm worried where the next dollar will come from.
Will she ever arrive?
Will she ever show up?
But why am I worrying?
Stop it!
It's all in God's Great Hands!
It's all under God's control!
It's all within His plans!
It's all His
And He will provide
Because He is our Father!
He loves us!
It's all His!
Trust Him!
I know it's difficult;
He will not lead you wrong.
He knows where you need to go.
He knows what you need to endure.
It's all His plan.
It's all in His Hands!
Lay down your life;
Give the control.
He is in control!
Thank You Father!
Trust Him!
It will all be okay!
Trust Him!

Thank You Holy Spirit!

HEART BEAT

When I pull away, you push

I’m silent, like a single finger to my blush lips

motioning “shush”

I feel like a caged tiger

craving freedom and lovers flesh

a prisoner of your personal horror

I must digress

I loose myself, into my mystical, magical, mind

to keep this empty agony, from burning into

each minute, of my lifetime

my body, feels frozen to your touch

your kisses, cannot melt my hatred

toward your soulless lust

I am strong from within, I cannot,

will not

let him win,

A real live porcelain doll I have

turned in

Two

lines forming a cross, hold my inner eye

for the Lords love catches my tears as I cry

when your fists, strike my body

a bloody mess, you leave my lie

punishing me for your insecurities

and false lies

a chance to escape you, this dream

has me hypnotized

each day of mine, ends in silent sorrow

and begins, with prayer filled sighs

For love, does not beat you behind backs

and then smile in your eyes

using such smiles to disguise

to the outside, false facial expressions

keep things trill

I pray, for the strength one day,

to fight my prisoner back

perhaps kill

America Is Being DESTROYED From Within

As sin and perversion often become integrated… So many lives and families are being “disintegrated.” Many are being driven by sin’s temptation force… It’s no wonder much of this country is way “off course.” The morality and values that once made a great nation. Are evaporating…. Leading to a “spiritual separation.” Love, honor, and respect of God… Is often a “thing of the past.” Anything of God seems to be disappearing FAST! God is our only hope! And him alone! Only he can bring healing to our broken homes! He’s the answer to this wounded nation, that bleeds! It’s only God that can meet all of our needs! He’s our provider… The great: “I am!” Won’t you reach out to him? And give him your hand? Why not give him a chance? And allow him in? A brand new life for you… Is waiting to begin! May we allow God’s holiness and love to reach down into our hearts… Asking; “Lord please forgive our sins!” Is a good place to start! By Jim Pemberton

Why Should I

Was it enough or was it too much?
Sometimes too fast but always too slow!
God knows that I come with these seeds that grow.
Inside and out I absorb every single touch,
But why should I?
Why should I be the only one that knows?
Stepping through time and sliding back so smooth so I go!
I say I can qualify!
Where was I and why was I there?
Sometimes too obvious but always with doubt!
God knows that I come riding in on a prayer.
I absorb every single touch inside and out,
But why should I?
Why should I be the only one that cares?
Climbing the highest mountains and sliding down so steep but on a dare!
I say I can magnify!

What did I say and what did I do?
Sometimes too quite but always too loud!
God knows that I come with a gleam that shines so proud.
Inside and out I absorb every single touch by you.
But why should I?
Why should I be the only one in the crowd?
Walking on water and walking backwards but at least I know how.
I say I can intensify!
Do I want to or do you need me to?
Sometimes I wonder and sometimes I simply don’t care.
God knows that I come standing on a higher sky of blue.
I absorb every single touch by you inside and out with this glare.
But why should I?
Why should I be the only one with this view?
Up in the clouds and aimless but always led by you!
I say, “I SANCTIFY”!

The Acid Light of Revelation

digits stray cold upon the taunt surface
unheated by the friction of lavender’s rise
diffuse sweetness coats the iris of my eyes
life forms in the negative's longing to be
lingering limpid as a tearful eye upon the cheek
held in the clenched fist which falls, axed in anger

stray digits weave coarsely, sweat less,
like a basket of ash ccasting wweave sshadows
upon the prayer mat, balsam scents the soul
forest born, scratching the inner lining of mouth,
tickling the hairs within honeycombed ears,
heated, rubbed raw, rouged by clap and slap, alive...
in the between, twitching in the sour curdle of death and rebirth

digits stray rise and fall on delta waves, pulse throbs
of persimmon trail limbward, trunk bound, crown crested,
human delights all, salted, post dance on the work calloused pads
metal touched in the acid light of a limbic revealation.

How can you let darkness win?
You just scraped your knee,

Come and take my hand.

Will you allow me to take the lead?

A Friend With Consequences

I'll shine brighter than ever when I find my way past my woes the farther I wander the more I shall know that I'm a friend with consequences and only one could let that go He somehow convinced me that I needed correction now I know where I'm going for I followed his directions no more full of blaming I point it right at my nose and realize all my problems are by no one else controlled Will I ever shine with a destiny, kind I still have little meaning but he is there with me, sometimes when our doors have been locked up for so many years it feels good to have someone come in my circle, share my fear Everyone so full of hatred afraid of letting us by even when we're most broken still a spark in our eye you think that would tell them that we just want to live life to the fullest potential that our dreams aren't denied We talk of good and evil agreed on right and wrong tell tales of when we struggled and what we did to be strong as the world the he's seen is darker than mine I am less respected as a person but I accept that, it's fine for he talks to me like I'm worthy and proud to be my friend that's why I could never replace all the treasured words of wisdom he gave me like a story of survival, rise and fall though I am a friend with great consequences I could never begin to replace him, at all my personal Jesus, I see the great Messiah in him I hope one day to inherit his good heart to pass it on to some kid one day, struggling.

As I knelt in prayer the other night, I asked God….
“Why is there so much suffering in the world?”
I believe He answered me and said…

Free will is a fact of life. It can bring you joy or sometimes strife. It’s up to you to make the choice, But if you pray, you’ll hear my voice. I can’t explain, my dear, He said, as I knelt beside my bed. Our lives are NOT a matter of fate. You may CHOOSE hell or the pearly gates. Now my dear, rest your head, And tuck yourself inside your bed. Have no worries, have no fear. Just simply know that I am here! Michelle D. ©6/15/06

Listen

Listen to the buzzing, in your ears,
Listen to the humming, of your fears,
Listen to the baby, crying inside,
Listen to the pleading, in your lover's eyes.
Listen to the music, you have never played,
Listen to the sinner, who's never been saved.
Listen to the empty, silence of your mind,
Listen to the whispers, of man kind.
Listen to the never, heard nor seen,
Listen to the listener, who has never been.
Listen to the monkey, you know you really are,
Listen to the wise man, who's never been that far.
Listen to the dying, crying man,
Listen to the bottle, buried in the sand.
Listen to meaning, you never really meant,
Listen to the letter, you never really sent.
Listen to the lovers, who loved another one,
Listen to the brothers, torturing their mum.
Listen to the noisy, who never say a thing,
Listen to the silent, crying deep within.
Listen to the never, ever really said,
Listen to the dead man, laying in his bed.
Listen to the flying, dying man,
Listen to the solid, only made of sand,
Listen to the night time, they told you that was day,
Listen to the meaning, they stole an took away.
Listen to the singer, who never made a sound,
Listen to the thunder, in the lightning cloud.
Listen to the voices, you never hear within,
Listen to the last train's whistle, whistling.

Jesus, I Pray For My Brothers

Jesus, I Pray for My Brothers! Years ago, I suggested to my brothers that we pray. They simply laughed at what I had to say! I thought it would be good to get together... That God's love would bind our hearts forever! Division took place and took the "upper hand." I don't think they'd listen or even understand! Over the many years that just went on by... They never once took the time to say; "hi!" Even though they never once seemed to care. I decided to take some time in deep prayer! It was like they would make fun of what I said. At times, maybe they wished I were "dead." At this time, there's a strong and powerful force That's blowing their lives are way off course! I pray that God's spirit will get a hold of them! And let them now how much he loves them! I pray that God's love will be the glue that binds them! May God's mercy and joy be what finds them! I pray that evil will not find it's way in their home! And they would allow Jesus to rule on their "throne." Even though they tried to cast me off, as a "fool." It's God's words, in their lives, that must rule! Jesus can turn around even the worst situation! By the power of his glory and resurrection! Please, dear lord, bind them forever as won! Bless their home! Their daughters and sons! By Jim Pemberton

Softer Than Fleece

I sit on my porch on this beautiful day
I will become this poem prayer I now pray

I have learned to enjoy the simple things in life
My daughter’s smile and the love of my wife

The way the leaves rustle in the morning breeze
God’s music always seems to bring me such ease

I love how the breeze softly kisses my face
Tis’ the natural wonder of God’s embrace

I have learned to love as well as learned to live
You know life’s greatest joy is learning to give

Give all that you are till you empty your cup
Have the heart of a lion, soul of a pup

The beautiful things truly cost not a dime
I’m trying hard to make the most of my time

So many years wasted so few left to go
There are so many things that I wish to know

I learn so many new things each passing day
Sometimes I feel like I’m slipping away

I’m trying hard to become all I can be
I owe that social responsibility

What this poem’s about I truly don’t know
Reckon it’s just another piece of my soul

A soul that has finally found itself some peace
What was once a rock is now softer than fleece

I'm Not the Kind of Dad That I Need to Be

I’m Not the Kind of Dad That I Need to Be! I remember reading the Bible to my son. But what a mess, my life has become! My children told me, they were proud of their dad! Now they say they’re embarrassed and sad. I once lived a Godly life! I really did! Just look at me now! And how I live! Things in life I once called wrong and sin. Are now causing me to stumble again. God's word I had loved! Jesus was my treasure! I "traded my soul" for what gives me "pleasure." I’m not the kind of father that I need to be! What kind of example will my family find in me? Will I grow stubborn to God as I age? Replacing his peace, for anger and rage? I need Jesus to bring peace to my troubled soul! I ask YOU Lord to make me clean and whole. Restore unto me the joy of my salvation. By your blood, make me a new creation. Words alone cannot truly express… This family God's given to me. Welcomed and forgiven.
Here is the love;

Crown of Thorns

Crown of Thorns
A trace of thorns you are on my body, I am an eternal traveller, never stopping. You are the bitter predicament of my comfort, Traces of sensual pleasures - The mist of a veil is my constant reminder. You wound the stubble of my heartly thorns, I stand alone on the dusty conflagration Gazing towards an endless void, I am bridled with the burning pain of the thorns... My gaze tirelessly roves, Prickly are the thorns, With malediction entwined... I am drowning in a sweaty torrent, I am plunging into thorny depths, bloody and overworked from the struggle, I yield myself to the decision of fate.

Almost Remorse

The slowest clocks bind the official wound,
An azimuth of the flesh, trust, first contact,
She blinks but no face appears,
Does every mistake ask for such an ordinary end? A seed cannot forget.
Cold, weeping statue of lifetimes, suckle her prayer in the erupting bed.
Fallen beside the tear of the flower blight, lips against the penetrator,
Learn to forgive the righteous terrors for an idle comfort.
What numbing freedom presses the soft lump pulse?
Tongues rally to expose the ghost of private remorse,
Who conceals the dignities of a suction thigh grave.

Cure Mine of The Dark

You’ll write a beautiful melody,
If it’s truly from the heart.
So first I’ll find the remedy,
To cure mine of the dark.
But holy light and blind eyes,
Are keeping me apart,
From the answers, to the questions,
that are making things so hard.

Find me a sin,
You think that I wouldn’t commit.
And use it to begin,
To make me laugh again.
Find me a loose end,
I don’t know how to tie.
Sometimes I wish for the truth,
But all I get are lies.

I don’t need the good life,
I just want a sliver.
You say always go for gold but I,
I’m fine with a lining that’s silver.
I can live with a just a hand to hold,
But who could love a sinner?
Maybe I can hide inside the dark,
So turn the lights down dimmer.

I said find me a sin,
You think that I wouldn’t commit.
And use it to begin,
To make me laugh again.
Find me a loose end,
I don’t know how to tie.
Sometimes I wish for the truth,
But all I get are lies.

Father

When I was a toddler Father was brilliant

Taught me many things and with the wonder

But as I got older and the passing

Father grew slower until fifteen when..........

He eventually became a dullard

Told me my friends would bring me down

Punished me and locked my mind away

But no locks could hold me and my genius

The years passed until I reached twenty one

I realized that he must have studied while I was sleeping

I received the key when I was twenty five

And looked at those blue eyes which held me

They studied everything I did and loving

Longing to be free I watched the first steps

Brilliance

Studying into the night and prayer

Letting go and giving him my key

I was born for this with my love

Tried with his little hands to turn the lock but the key

Frustrated

I filed till his key fit snug

My prayer was blessed and I thanked

Father

Stuck In The Struggle

Sometimes I get stuck in the struggle
And I forget that this life is real,
Full of real love,
Full of real people,
Full of real strength,
Full of real faith.
Look around
Because this is real.
Welcome to reality;
This is God's amazing life!

Gift Of Mortality

An earthly existence
A universe beyond my minds, comprehension
I die
I rise
Life lessons reviewed
Homeward bound
I am not lost, after all!
I am a willing participant
Serving, the Father, of all creation
His son combined, ‘producing life’ as we know it
Representing them, in everything I do
I am nothing, without Love!
My heart full of faith, loyal service I give
Learning how to unconditionally serve, as the Father unconditionally, loves me
Worshipping our Divine Creator’s existence
Choosing to live, moment to moment
Being as one with ‘Our Universal Father’
No physical permanency
My physicality, disappearing
My mortality existence, I let go of
Death temporary
My spirit alive!
Relief, Peace
‘I am only passing through!’
A unique, experience of mortality
A gift, I am blessed to experience, to live!

Amazing Grace

Daisy skirts
Swinging in church
Shouting "Hallelujah Amen"
Feeling the Holy Ghost
Doors open
You repent.
Frog in your throat
The spirit took over.
You fell to your knees.
Tears formed and rolled down cheeks.
Not anyone could believe the salvation they seen.
The doves were released.
Your life manifested them.

"Amazing grace, how sweet thou are to save a wretch like me."

Let Love Fly

Let love fly
-
With ethereal compassion, a soft glow in her eyes,
she picks up the baby eagle, tries to convey words
of eloquent reassurance, sincerely she tries.

Look, June is here this morning; and sun is shining hot;
last night’s storm belongs to last night; it has left an eagle;
a homeless, hurt, upset baby; it feels forlorn, lost, caught.

She takes it home; makes enclosures; feeds it with love, care.
It still feels solo, alone within, fed by love, fed up.
The enclosure of good concern grows smaller with time’s each turn.
The bird’s soul belongs to the sky; in its eyes silent prayer
flares up as it cries; shrill piercing call to its own kind.

Let it fly.

FOREVER NO MORE

No more invisible speechless, deaf and blind child
With neglected pleasures being addicted to denial
Floating through time, gravitating towards a warm arm
With an appetite for the emptiness that promises no harm

No more uncontrollable eruptions of emotional depression
A primal S.O.S. from the barren prison of selfless expression
that only the guilty with the innocent
Souls-know buried in social scar tissue of defective ego

No more relentless sifting through bodies seeking self
Settling through competitive combat for what's left on the shelf.
A mad melee of supply and demand driven by gullible pride that
leads to sedating the you that suffocates inside

No more - forever no more - because I've unshut my eyes
And the differences between God's word and Man's Wills was realized
Seeing opposing parallel lives some liquid, other frozen. Let me to never
seek from man what God has chosen.

Then the negative whispering subsided and the panicking ceased
the undercurrent suppression of pent-up terror was released as the
mystery of the unknown manifested pristine clear A positive message
of truth entered my ear

Now, across my face is a brand new smile
With a newly revealed meaning of a "Destine Child"
A message of hope is being released from my Heart
And I am overwhelmed with dedication to do my part

All I ever wanted was to be as I once was - Unbounded
Somehow it got all twisted and before long sounded
As though life was continuous connive-thrive-drive
Choking out the simple joy of just being alive

Now I am filled with love and I sing a love song
A song for yesterday, today, tomorrow, and beyond
My new prayer is - Thank You God for setting Me Free
And Thank You God - For Giving Me back Me

God Told Me That I Need Effective Prayer

God Told Me That I Need Effective Prayer!

God told me, in order for my prayer to be effective.
That I should not choose to be so “selective.”

I asked him: “what do you mean by this question?”
I wasn’t quite prepared for the reception!

God said; “You’ve chosen to be selective in how you live.”
“There’s only so much, to me, that you want to give!”

“You said that I’m your Lord, by your way of living.”
“But a life of holiness, is what you’re not giving.”

“You want the prayer answered,
but have nothing to show for it.”
“You claim to accept my grace,
but aren’t willing to share it.”

“How can I answer your prayer,
 when it’s only convenient?”
“Haven’t I been patient with you?”
“And most lenient?”

“Give up all that you have, and give it to the poor!”
“Then you’ll know what prayer life is really meant for!”

“Give me your heart!” “And take time to really listen!”
“There’s so much more of me, that you’ve been missin’!”

“Obey my words and experience the life I have given!”
“Know what it means to be cleansed and forgiven!”

“Than your life will change, and your prayer time too!”
“I will give you the strength to make it through!”

“You will know what it means to spend time with me!”
“And your prayers will impact you for eternity!”

The Son

I was once kissed by the sun
Caressed in oils my breasts bathed free
like growth in my womb
kissing the moon
Capturing my true essence
unmasked, plain, pure

Naked in love my insecurities
gave birth to my esteem
But then I became free
from the taunting and ridicule of
socieity's template of me
by adopting a new personality
One that reflects the real me

I like poetry I like to sing
I understand my spiritual need
I like love
I like the breeze
I like rhythm and passion
and long lasting nights of
random acts of sensual moments that
awaken parts of me previously repressed
The love I feel is so unrest

I was once kissed by the sun
It's power gave me light and enabled my writing to become
spoken words
leaving footprints on the ink in my pen
Some of thoughts escaped through actions of sin
Unspoken words just thrown away
Never spoken, or written again

Awakened by the sun
all drenched in it's heat
Praising it's soure of power
and embracing humility
Giving what I have to give
Learned to let go it's easier to forgive
We strive for riches but lest we forget
the richness of the sun
Each day be thankful for his son

A New Year's Prayer

Heavenly Father, hear my plea
At your altar on bended knee.
Prayers I offer for those I love,
Prayers to you Lord, up above.
You have seen the mess we've made.
Not the plans that you had laid.
Everywhere there's war and sadness
Where there should be peace and gladness.
You must be disappointed in us all,
Each of us who ignored your call.
All mankind should this year strive
Really hard to keep humanity alive.
Lord please help us do our best
On your behalf, a peaceful quest.
Rid this earth of anger and hate.
Don't let our past dictate our fate.

Shema

The milky morning’s Saturn haze
Haloed the sun’s neonate phase
Seize the warmth, Hail to The Light!
No waspish thoughts to sting nor bite
this soft and cheerful face.

Shades to shadows stir and shift
saddened loss is set adrift
Kissed by the morn, cajoled, embraced
To block the sun is vacuumed waste
over sad umbrella-ed minds.

Must feel the breeze, cherish the day
Won’t do to crawl an endless maze
Confined or caged by bars of love
clips wings from angels and doves
Freed, they find their way back Home to God.

Make no routine of daily blight
Self inflicted sores or tearing bites
We must assist the ones who’ve gone
and love by prayer is never wrong
A sacred sharing with The Lord.

Hope is Ethereal

Hope is ethereal…
It is not religion; it is not faith.
Life is tragic and difficult.
We are but flashes of light in a dying world.
Hope is what motivates you to breathe, to live, to overcome.
It exists because we want our flash of light to last; to matter to someone.
Eternal life cannot be purchased through prayer or deeds…
Judgment comes not after death, but during life.
If truly a definitive heaven or hell exists, then why…
Why is there paranormal activity, why demons; why hauntings?
It is not obvious that commitment to a religion is not a form of afterlife insurance?
I have been to the other side, and it is darkness…nothingness.
The will of the living, the strength of their determination, defines death.
Have no fear of me if you have not wronged me… I will watch over you.
If you have caused me heartache, sadness, depression, loathing in this life,
Fear me.
For I will haunt you, and you will know that it is me. You will know fear.
It is not death that plagues me;
It is trying to live in this suffocating world that overwhelms me.
Bring not your martyrs, your heroes, your wars, your natural disasters;
All of these have happened before, and will happen again.
Our very existence is cyclical at best, and stretched far beyond our comprehension.
How dare you assume a right to favoritism from a god?
Your existence is not defined by your faith, or lack thereof.
Your place in eternity will not be determined by your actions.

Eternity is all around us, perpetually moving and shifting.
We are but dust motes caught on the lens of a photograph.
Hope that you might live your life to the fullest; hope for happiness.
The rest is wisps and fractions of existence.
To achieve one person saying your name, in sadness, after you’ve gone
Is to have lived.
Hope is ethereal.

I Rejoice In Knowing God

I Rejoice In Knowing God!

I will cry out to God with my voice!
I take safety in him and rejoice!
I shall seek him in the day of trouble!
He’ll pick me up, when I stumble!
I know that he listens, and is always there!
I shall seek each day, alone in prayer!
I shall remember the Lord’s faithful deeds!
He gives me strength, and meets my needs!
I meditate on his words, and wonders performed!
He picks me up, when I feel defeated and scorned!
He is God and shines with an awesome brightness!
He brings everlasting love, peace and kindness!
Behold! He is God! His power is demonstrated!
His beauty among the heavens, has been demonstrated!
He is God! And shall forever reign supreme!
He is my God! My righteousness and everything!

To my lost Mistress

Humor dispels rumour
You can't but want to stay happy though
But Lo
If the rumor be of you
Thank God your presence still lingers
Stupid stuffs all around
It's a call for the ultimate
Walk on high, and pad your shoulders
Walking tall is the first step
Of course, forget not you've got a rep
Please, please I pray, mind them not
Even the blind that seeth not
Perceives and say she's hot
Please my fair lady, mind them not
What you are they are not
The reason you see they are wrought

Our affairs here are soaked
We tread days in flitting haze
As exams beckons
While we are yet to cross rubicon
We only look to creator of unicorn
Not to look on us with scorn
For exams sneaks
While we sit at the bar taking steaks

Pray thee I, maybe your prayer 'll do
As we look to the day....
Let's regale ourselves with the thought of you
While we see ourselves only in dreams

My Childhood Lullabies

When I was a child I enjoyed the lullaby
Each evening of the whistling train going by

Thousands of tree frogs singing in harmony
With hoot owls language spoken so beautifully

The sound the wind makes blowing through the trees
Catching swirling dancing leaves

Momma and daddy's quiet whispers of love
The giggles of siblings from the room above

I closed my eyes with a prayer in my heart
Awaiting tomorrows promise ,of a brand new start

If You Looked At Me Like That

I would be the luckiest man on earth.
Heaven would open up and show me my rebirth.
Love is for the emptiness that fills my heart.
If you looked at me like that I'd never part.

The hours in the day just seem to slip away.
Sailing with this empty cargo just leaves me at bay.
All tied up and turned about, no mate to keep me straight.
If my prayer gets answered, I hope it's not too late.

Every time I see you I see love.
I get lost in the crowd of push and shove.
I give into the fear and disappear.
What I want to say, I'm not sure you want to hear.

I look for hope in a house of despair.
I reach for you, but your just not there.
I'm amazed at how time just keeps on going.
As I sit here all alone with no one knowing.

Until we're peaceful meadows apart,
Nuclear wars together.

Pateince

Carnelian robes permeate dreamtime landscapes
of parchment and prayer flag.
Smiling faces walk swiftly
through corridors of ancient walls
carved from living mountains,
spinning cylindrical wheels in their wake.

Patience of a thousand, thousand years,
we wait for peace.

Eagle feathers jounce
as soft moccasins dance heartbeat
on the prairie hair of Mother Earth.
Sacred sisters hold position in jingle dress rhythms
offering prayer pipes to their men,
who burn sweet grass as they fancy dance past.

Patience of a thousand, thousand years,
we wait for peace.

Hula dancers waft sea breeze
in the heat waves of Pele’s fire.
Warrior lines pace boundary between the worlds,
as molten lands part the waters
and oasis the humble in a paradise
where lei lines encircle life.

Patience of a thousand thousand years,
we wait for peace.

Condor circles as mountains spirits speak
telling stories of forever and ever.
Ancient peoples gather in raindrop mists
to nourish the living land
and feed the collective soul
the medicine of dreams.

Patience of a thousand, thousand years,
we wait for peace.

“Imagine all the people” sound waves and ipods
park bench hosts to afternoon drummers,
as momentum gathers
inner city gardeners and beekeepers
buzzing to the cyber shifts
of “sharing all the world”.

Patience of a thousand, thousand years
we wait for peace.

I Know of A Brother Who's Lost And Confused

I know of a brother, who’s lost and confused… Many of his relationships, he’s already “abused.” He’s not really sure, which direction he’s going… There’s a lot of wise advice, that he’s ignoring! He’s choosing to ignore the God who loves him. And refuses to acknowledge how much he needs him! He decided to leave his family behind him… Perhaps, one day, they’ll be able to “find him!” I pray for this dear brother! He needs prayer! I know that wherever he goes… God is always there! Please, dear Jesus, touch him with your kindness! Without YOU dear lord… He’s walking in blindness! No matter where he goes… Which path is taken! God will always love him! He’s never forsaken! The words of God, must somehow get his attention! To give him a clear path, and a godly direction! May the love of Christ, get a hold of his heart! Coming to Jesus, is a good place to start! Whatever this brother does, or where he goes… Only the righteousness of God, can make him whole! Dear Lord… Be with my brother! That he may know you! During the journey of life, may he learn to trust you! The path of God’s footsteps, gives one a true meaning! May this brother acknowledge God! And start believing! By Jim Pemberton

Rumours

All that happens is really inside,
From the love and desire,
To the cosmic tide.
The coming of Christ,
The going of God,
The devil's rise,
The morning fog.
The dark naked nights,
Of torment and fear,
The atomic bomb and the rumours I hear.
From the beginning of time,
Till the end of space,
The prison bars in front of my face.
The labyrinth of lies,
The weaver weaves,
The kaleidoscopes patterns,
Of the autumn leaves.
All born of tears and blood and guts,
Of suffering children crying for love.
The inside is real,
The outside is dead,
An empty shell,
I dreamed in my head.
The you and me,
Are forgotten and gone,
In the rumours I hear,
In the atomic bomb.

My Passionate Write

How I long to hold you
Close in my arms
Press kisses to your cheek
And enfold you near to my heart

Run a warm bath
And bath you tenderly
Pat you dry gently
Lie you down between

Soft fluffy warm sheets
Lie close to your body
After you have been amply
Fed the food of life for tummy

To protect you from all strife
I can't go there or do those
Magical acts
Just my prayer today

For God to send someone
In my place to see that
These wonderful acts of humanity
Are carried out for you...

Only Kindness

Only kindness lets me write.
It allows the words to come into sight.
Life is hard enough without your kind.
Wagging your tongue of evil thoughts in your mind.

It's hard to pray for someone like you.
It's hard to forgive someone who makes you feel blue.
We hang on to that last knot on the rope.
As someone like you cuts off the last bit of hope.

We fall to pieces in disarray upon the ground.
As you have no regard whether we ever make a sound.
It takes all we have to vent our dismay.
But you don't care if we have got anything to say.

I've said enough, I understand too much.
How to use meaness as a crutch.
My prayer is up in the sky.
I hope Jesus finds his way into your minds eye.

Not Today

From within we lose our way.
We look for clues inside the past.
But that's no place where we can stay.
Because some things just were'nt meant to last.

The world keeps turning inside this room.
It's hard to know just where you are.
When your cares pile up without a broom.
And hopes hung up on a dark star.

We change direction to find what's left.
Of dreams that filled our hearts with love.
But wake up with a soul bereft.
And one more prayer to God above.

The answer comes without a clue.
While slumber holds you in it's arms.
That's why your mind knows nothing new.
And your left confused by mystery's charms.

Another Year That Came and Went

This has been another year that came and went!
I often wonder, where has my time been spent?

It seems like yesterday, we rang in the new year!
But, very quickly, it has all just “disappeared.”

I think about my accomplishments, goals and dreams.
Do they matter anymore? Do they mean anything?

This life I have, is just but a brief moment in time.
One day, I’ll simply leave everything fast behind!

My relationship with Christ is what really matters!
Everything else in life, is just “empty chatter!”

I pray that as this new year comes and goes…
My relationship with Christ will continue to grow!

The older I get, I’m beginning to see!
I need much more of Jesus, and less of me!

He is what’s needed! Whatever this year holds!
I need him more, as each year I grow old!

With each year, that comes and passes me by…
I want more of Jesus, until the day I die!

He is my friend, what is certainly needed!
With him in me, my life is completed!

Thank you Lord for this brand new year!
You are the one I’ll hold ever so dear!

Forty-Six Cents

I went to Church this morning with my head already bowed.
I would hear the sermon, but my heart was heavy now.
Sooner or later I would put my offering on the plate.
And tied to that offering was an envelope with my name.
I wouldn’t relent using the envelope; it was a matter of pride to me.
Even if a few would know my plight and shame, this eve.
Truly it was all I had… but giving less isn’t a sin,
So I tried to hold my head up, as I put the envelope in.
Last Sunday I didn’t go, and regrets have plagued me so…
So here I am at church with my both my head and heart rightly bowed.

Jesus gave us a parable of a poor woman and what she gave.
Would I have less courage than to do the same?
The church is built upon offerings and dutiful work, too.
And I’m unable to work so the offering will have to do.
Forty-Six Cents may not seem like much.
But I will pay my portion as best as I can do.
The amount isn’t monumental and maybe won’t be felt.
But even small amounts help add to the Church’s work.
So as I lay my envelope down… It is with some small hope…
My prayer this day became… that in some small way it will be felt.

Emily

This is dedicated to the sweetest little 10 year old girl I met once who died of Brain Cancer...

"Memories escape from you,
Ones we do not want to lose"
She whispered to me softly
When I felt all confused,
As our moment slipped away,
She made me want to say,
"Angels walk beside us all
Each slowly passing day"

As she walked away from me,
Unafraid to let me see,
A shaven head, she covered up,
Where her hair used to be,
So much courage for her age
Not empty and full of rage,
A miracle, in modern times,
She chose to turn the page

She has chosen not to grieve,
Instead she just believes,
A higher power watches her
and keeps her mind at ease,
Unburdened by her fate
She accepts it unafraid,
Barbie dolls and fancy clothes
Will rest where they are laid

There are times I can recall
When the pebbles made me fall
With boulders on her shoulders
No complaining comes at all
With a smile upon her face
She achieved a state of grace
The only thought inside her head
"God please protect this place"

She will see no wedding rings
Or the change her presence brings
She will close her eyes, a final time,
and receive her angel wings
No emotions toss and turn
A peaceful place she has earned
Contributing an unseen verse
To songs she will not learn

When her body is no more,
And her spirit starts to soar,
Memories will live through,
Stuffed bears upon her floor,
She will let her mother know
Goodbye is not letting go,
Saying " I will run back to you
With every found hair bow

Every time you stop and see
A daughter who wants to be,
 Everything her mother is,
The emotion felt is me,
When the wind begins to blow
That is me trying to show,
The picture of your baby girl
Running carefree in your clothes"

When her final breathe is gone
Her last prayer lives on and on
"God watch over mommy now
If I leave her all alone"
All her family will cry
I will hold my head and sigh
At the death of a miracle
With no answers as to why

Though this piece will not be heard
I write every single word
In hopes of saying thank you
For the honor of meeting her
She will never get to see
All the words she put in me
As I write for you, rest in peace,
Beloved Emily

Take Off the Mask and Be Yourself

Take off the mask and be yourself:
Be honest; be true and strong.
Stop trying so hard to fit in a crowd where you really don't belong.

Don't side-step your calling
To HIM, you should only remain true
Don't push HIM aside because you need HIM as Guide in all that you think, say
and do.

He is the only One who does possess the Power to the success you are looking
for.

So take off the mask; simply be yourself; accept His plans for you.
Rekindle His Love through repentance, prayer and faith within your heart-
And true success will scoop you up and elevate you high;
And wealth will be yours unendlessly with love; with peace you can not deny.

Beauty For Ashes

I used to feel like
A ghost
Just floating through this life
Invisible to the world

Weighed down by the chains
of sin and guilt
My shoulders bowed and my head hung low
I looked at You through eyes
of Disillusionment and shame

My heart yearned so much
To just let go
And confide in someone
To look at my reflection in a mirror
And not hate the person
Staring back at me

To show my scars
Where the pain of cutting
Was the only way I could escape
the heartache

And use them as a testimony of
of how you gave me beauty for ashes

January Stance

Look and review. Look and review.
The New Year is coming. Review’s what we do.
What have I believed in? What lies have been told?
What truth has ascendance? For truth is my gold.
What lies have invaded and reworked the Truth?
Where have I departed, diminished forsooth?
Where have I veered off from true Liberty’s path,
Compromised integrity, brought on God’s wrath.

The New Year is coming. A new slate is here.
History’s drawing new pictures of fear.
Will it be fear of what people might say,
Or fear of the Good Lord who loves us today.
Shall I pay attention to cultural lies?
Or shall I look Heavenwards, one of God’s spies
Who constantly roam around Heavenly places
To bring back its perfumes in kindness and graces.

The spies of our Father have wisdom to go
From a closet of prayer to the big world below
With the gifts of the Spirit, of wisdom in kind,
Knowledge un-natural, miracle mind.
So how may I check that my pathway lies true?
More time in the Heavenly places is due,
That the words of my mouth, which are weapons enough,
May achieve on this earth all His miracle stuff!

Morning Sunlight gives on glint on my window pane saying hi Fresh kisses from a morning breeze and gently touch of my face I’ve started a morning prayer to give thanks for another day I’m off the bed, trying to get up, stretching my body I yawn like a child, waving my hands catching the morning light Birds are chirping sounds like music to me, they are all singing Sat on a rocking chair, sipping my coffee enjoyed the morning I smile to welcome the day and inhale the morning sunlight August 11, 2012 Cheryl Aldea

First Morning Cup

In that grey, quiet space between night & dawn
While the coyote sings a good morning song

A cowboy rides up to a spot high on the hill
to reflect on his blessings & the bounty of good will

For a hot cup of coffee & warm meals to eat
For the shade of a broad brim hat & the sturdy boots on his feet

For the comfort in the silence just before the rooster crows
Just why he was chosen to be this lucky, only the Creator knows

For this good horse between his knees, sure & steady at a lope
for those fat & sassy cattle & true aim when he ropes

For all his compadres just now stirring for the day
Each one of them in your likeness, so the preachers say

For living each & every day as Cowboy as he can
For unexpected kindness & the basic goodness of a man

The keening of the hawk draws his gaze up toward the sky
And he says another prayer for those who ride in the By & By

Yes, there are surely enough reasons to grump, cuss or shout
But taking stock of all your blessings is what that first morning cup is all about

So thank you once again sir, for giving us this life
May you ride along beside us, in good times & in strife

Amen

The Last Hour of the Christ

I wear the crown of hatred
misunderstanding and despair upon my hair
upon my back a wooden cross I bare
I know not why I’m hated so
all the people seemed to love me just a week ago

my skin is cut from head to toe
from whips of leather by men who wish to see me die
I spoke the truth for all the people to understand
my words of truth where words to set man free
from degradation hate and hell to live in harmony
for the rest of history

I cured the sick and healed the blind
with the touch of my own hand
I’ve walked on water and walked on sand
to preach and bring my truth through out the land

people came from all around
and would sit for hours upon the ground
I once had twelve good men who followed me around
now there’s only eleven one man let me down

my words have been mistaken
my God he has forsaken
for that my life they’re taken
I believe that I have failed
as my hands and feet are nailed upon this wooden cross
as they raise me in the air
all their sins I know I must bare

I want to scream not fair not fair
I’m just a young man I only wanted to teach
there are so many more people that I wanted to reach
my age is only thirty three
I pray my God
that they the people will remember me

This poem was written from the human aspect of Jesus Christ. I wrote this poem with no effort what so ever it was as though it was being told to me. I watched my hand move across the page with a purpose a message I believe Jesus wanted this poem written.

Hypocrite

I am a hypocrite and look what I just did:
I fell into my darkest pit; now, again, and again.
I thought that I was strong enough to live the truths I said;
Now I realized I'm much too weak; a fool too ashamed to raise his head.
God, please save me, please forgive me, and please give me strength.
I love You.
I thank You.
I am forever changed.

Evidence

Will there be a day when my words disappear?
Deep in my mind that is my greatest fear
Words that I write give me distraction
Opening new worlds is their attraction

I breath in thoughts, exhale them to the page
Rewarded with poem, my gift and my wage
How would life be without this special gift?
What would I do for my spirit to lift?

Sometimes I wonder, if these words are mine
Happy with connection to the Devine
So while I have them, happy will I be
Greater perspective, gift that sets me free

Daily prayer, words upon a lonely stage
Expressed in pictures, words written on a page
If they are read, they will not dissapear
They will be evidence, that I was here

NEVER MADE IT

NEVER MADE IT............................a blind man's prayer

whenever i look towards the sky,
i can feel your your radiant smile spreading it's wings
around the heavenly dark skies

it doesn't bother me why i never made it so high in life
i couldn't be a wise man for i never had the sense and humour
i couldn't preach god cause i had no hope
i couldn't feel the sun for i was so lost in my drems

now im here all by myself waiting for a new beginning,
waiting for someone to show me the way
all i my life i have carried over my thoughts
i couldn't raise a family cause no one would want me
i feel so lost, that i no longer need to see where im going
it's surely not home where im headed
for my eyes are so tired that i can never see the world

I trust You.
I love You.
I thank You.

Saga

Saga (2)

Trust upon source of peace where ever you may be
The law of power produces puzzlingly to complete
The course as a fruit
Saints who followed this advised
Follow the system of power with belief
Everything returns as seen in mirror your face confirming
Conscience of wisdom and knowledge
From where your path of piece
Develops as moon further and further
Saints’ conclusion to be is love immortal
Love is supreme means to throw in aim with
Targeting to bloom, love never has lost
Any battle of courage – might be physical body vanish
But the starry power and light to travel in speed
Pillars in minds' pace which is boundless in capacity
There is infinite peace and pleases always
In true serve saga is by heart to deserve
Clothe and food and customs are only secondary means
Be saint for human beings
Let save the planet for the new siblings
Saints pass message of life about
What is the meaning of life according to...?
What are the achievements? If you see genuinely
To know the value of.
Different opinions are in circulation in the planet
Body and soul are two vital accessories of life
Without one no other keeps meaning
Therefore both should know each other separately
To speak truth body can be cremated
But soul is understood to remain as due
Then appears the mystery to follow the path
Peace and satisfactions are the extreme
All in the planet to acquire much
But in vain conniving at the truth
Excepts saints no one knew
Saints no one knew, knows and will know
Ever the conscience of life followed path by saints
They are vigorous of life follow them
 Attain the saga’s life.
God is not far if you seek and follow the advice of saint
Agreeing knowledge of them many have found eternal game
The fertility in the realm of god is immeasurable
Bountiful of everything is on the path without thorn

Without management and knowledge an aeroplane cannot fly
If you believe upon scientists who has facilitated you
Making available facilities of life
That is the basic matter you agreed you are under the realm of saints.

INSIGNIFICANT

INSIGNIFICANT

I READ BETWEEN THE LINES TO GET TO THE TRUE MEANING
YET STILL IT ELUDES MY ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND
COMPREHENSION OF MY LIFE AND MY PURPOSE THERE-IN
ESCAPES FROM MY GRASP AS IF IT WERE A GRAIN OF SAND

WASHED AWAY IN THE TIDE
OF THE CHAOS THAT ENGULFS ME
NO TRACE OF ME REMAINS FOR THE FUTURE TO SEE
HERE FOR A TIME THEN GONE, INSIGNIFICANT I AM
HERE FOR A TIME THEN GONE FOREVER
INSIGNIFICANT, AS I AM

THE SHELL OF THIS MAN LAY WEATHERED AND BEATEN
AGAINST THE STORM THAT HAS RAGED THROUGH HIS LIFE
PROMISE AND PROGRESS FOR A TIME WAS THE DREAM
NOW HIS FAITH HAS FADED AWAY
LIKE THE SPIRIT OF THE MAN
THAT HE MAY ONCE HAVE BEEN

… SCATTERED, TATTERED, AND TORN, FALLEN AND BROKEN
NOT A HOPE IN THIS WORLD, NO PRAYER LEFT UNSPOKEN
UNANSWERED YES, IF THE TRUTH IS TO BE TOLD
FACING THE MIRROR TO RELEASE MYSELF
FROM THE LIES THAT HAVE TAKEN HOLD OF ME

WASHED AWAY IN THE TIDE OF THE CHAOS THAT SURROUNDS ME
NO TRACE OF ME WILL REMAIN FOR THE FUTURE TO SEE
HERE FOR A TIME THEN GONE, INSIGNIFICANT I AM
HERE FOR A TIME THEN GONE FOREVER,
INSIGNIFICANT, YES I AM

Jesus I Can't Turn A Blind Eye Anymore

Jesus, I Can’t Turn A Blind Eye Any Longer! I can’t turn a “blind eye” any longer! As many souls have “strayed off” and wandered! I can’t “pretend,” that life’s problems will disappear! The “sin problem,” is quite evident and clear! I can’t “make believe,” this will be a better place… I see heartache and despair on people’s face! I can’t just “sit back” and not do anything anymore! I ask myself, “what’s my purpose in life really for? I’m going to pray that God will make it more revealing… We all need to know our purpose and meaning! I’m going to ask God to help me make a difference today! And proclaim that Jesus is the truth, the life, the only way! I’m going to shout and proclaim Jesus! The true king! He’s the lord, master and maker of everything! I’m going to pray that those who are blind, will now see… This same Jesus who loves us, and gives life abundantly! I’m not going to be ashamed, to praise the lord greatly! It’s about time, that I lift up his name…. Lately! I’m going to ask the Holy Spirit to cleanse my mind… And help me to do my part in reaching mankind I’m going to invite you, to make a commitment to HIM! This same Jesus… Who can change us within! Please Lord Jesus… Have your way in me… All throughout! Loving and trusting you… Is what life is about! By Jim Pemberton

Has the Glory of God Left the Church

Has the Glory of God Left the Church?

Before the next church service gets started…
Should it read, on the door;
“God's glory has departed? “
Many come to worship and don't even know.
That's God's glory left such
a long time ago.
Many build their Sunday experience
on “past traditions.”
Built on man-made rules and “false expectations.”
They don't want to hear the gospel of holiness!
”It may offend.”
Their pastor no long preaches
on what the Bible says is sin.
Some have been going to
church for many years.
Still looking for teachers with “itching ears.”
Is the true presence of God
is no longer there?
It's no longer found in their
worship or prayer.
God's judgment shall begin at this very place.
It hasn't happened yet, because of
his unfailing grace.
If God's presence has been left from your life as well,
Remember his love for you will, never fail.
Seek his awesome presence each day you live!
He gave his son for you!
 What more could he give?
Won’t you see his glory this very hour?
And be renewed by his word
 and life-changing power!

What His World Can Never Give

What This World Can Never Give…

What this world can never give,
 is life eternal!
Jesus can guarantee your name,
 in heaven’s journal!

The world can never bring to you,
what Christ can give!
Jesus will never fail you,
and can give a reason to live!

This world can promise you a whole
 “field of dreams.”
But can never give the joy and peace
 that only Jesus brings!

The world shall one day
 be totally destroyed within!
Only Christ can help you!
And will always be your friend!

Heaven and earth shall one day pass!
 God’s word is forever!
Christ loves you so much!
You can be with him, together!

Won’t you follow Jesus?
And leave this world behind you?
Allow his Holy Spirit and love,
 to totally surround you!

Take this world! But give me Jesus!
 Is this your plea?
Won’t you make plans to be with him,
 for all eternity?

The Woman in the Mirror

Today I looked in the mirror
And I didn’t recognize the woman
That stared back at me
She frightened me
For she told the truth
Where I wish I could lie

I decided to look closer
And oh she resembled me greatly
But I looked into her eyes
Which led to her heart
And they appeared to be as cold as death

I don’t know when she became like this
But the time had come
I started to remember what had
Made this woman so beautiful
At one point in her life
Actually not too long ago at all

I then found the source of her beauty
She used to cherish prayer and her time with her God
She used to value being able to tell Him
How wonderful He was
And how much she adored Him and
Longed to imitate the beauty she saw in Him

She used to cling to His words,
For she knew without them she could not live
She loved to help and please all those who worshipped Him
And she loved to encourage those who did not
Because she felt the love of God
And wanted to share it with others

She valued purity and prided being one with God
Indeed these things had made her beautiful
Yes she knew these things alone
For she once knew that
Flattery from man meant nothing

But as I look in the mirror
The woman I see doesn’t value
 Any of these things
No, not the way she once did
Her eyes are white as snow
And her skin still soft but she no longer
Resembled the beautiful girl that once was

I wish that I could go erase
The disaster that I created
However what was done was done
I wish I could tell the woman in
The mirror that she is loved

Hey Bartender

Written 2010

Flashing lights and sounds roll by
Hear the sound of muffled sighs
Sullen words cannot express
Just confess, and lift it off your chest
Told the priest would hear your cries
If you don't feed him blatent lies

Oh he's your only friend
But he don't want to hear your sins
He's off doing his own thing
But it's far from priestly things
Oh he wont look in your direction
Let alone show you affection
Even when he hears your plea,
"Hey bartender please!"
Gone are all your hopes and dreams
All you ever sought to be
Heard from all across the room
Are many empty pleas,
"Oh won't you pity me?"

You can close your eyes and count to 10
Again and again
But he wont come back to help his fellow men
He was your only friend, but he left you all alone
To wallow in your sin
He failed to listen to your prayer
Now your lost in dark dispair

You can hide behind your cries
But he'll see into your eyes
Until the time you leave his bar
And wobble to your car

War on Humanity

All over the globe the number of dead are increasing
A bomb here, a bomb there, its no more surprising
Few faces of evil and cruelty
Seem to be creating havoc for the majority
None seem to be spared
In their success to spread hatred

No more shall the mind be without fear
A blast or killing could happen anywhere near
No more shall there be a welcome smile to a stranger
As the scared mind would signal a danger
No more elation at a fire cracker bursting
As the mind would say it could be a horrible bombing
If allowed to spread their sinister tentacles
The terrorists would create an unwanted spectacle

No more shall we have
The cool breeze from the wonderful seven seas
No more shall we have
The dazzling vibrant colours of the rainbow
No more shall we have
The smell of peace from the seven continents
The hanging sword of terror shall only leave
Barren land surrounded by repelling red blood coloured sea.

The news show sight of woman, orphaned children crying
Without a fault their innocent relatives are dying
“War against terror” !! Seems big lies
as people see only hardships, suffering and cries
All we see is the drying up of tears from their eyes
But wonder, when and how they would again start their lonely lives?

Why is there no war against poverty
Why no war against illetracy
Why no one to fight the war against hunger
And why no one to fight War on AIDS, the biggest danger
Why are they using their ability
To fight this WAR ON HUMANITY.

I close my eyes to say a prayer to God
Give them some sense, oh lord!!
To those who have treaded on a wrong path
WAKE UP!! Stop this horrible blood bath
Please give up hatred, stop this revengeful dance
I plead, Please give peace atleast one last chance…..

His Warm Embrace

The dark of night is mine alone
To spend in silent reverie,
In solo, introspective thought
and not brooding melancholy.

The battle is not mine, but God's.
He's not intended me to fight.
I'm purposed, seems, for something odd;
To witness to His pow'r and might.

I've drifted oft' so far away.
Seems I am that roaming gnome.
Rememb'ring prayer is not my strength
Until the end of day is gloam.

All thanksgiving to the One
Who seasons life with grace.
To taste and see that He is good
Leads to His warm embrace.

This Thanksgiving Day

During this time known as Thanksgiving Day. I hope you'll give thanks and pray. A prayer of thanks for everything God has given. He has blessed us in the way we've been livin'! Our country is blessed like no other. God has supplied our "bread and butter." He's given us the freedom, we've all enjoyed. Be thankful for your food, home and being employed. For those who've endured hardship... Thank God too! It's no secret how much he loves YOU! We find in the Bible... God clearly said; "I've never seen the righteous forsaken, Nor their children begging for bread." Thanks be to Jesus, for his love, mercy and grace. And for making my heart, "his special place." I am blessed and thankful to Jesus indeed. He's given me salvation and supplies my every need. I thank God for this special day in November. Thanksgiving is a day... I will always remember! My Crucifixion

My Crucifixion

One of a few regrets, I face my mortality
Time spent in dissension, self imposed exile
I face my God, drop in prayer asking for reprieve
My penance; life, my sentence; life
In what else can I believe

Judge, jury, and executioner
Pontius Pilate at my crucifixion
I see things that most do not want to see
Blood on my hands
My own blood from my own crucifixion
Feeling things that most do not want to feel

I’m facing demons, living nightmares
As I am forced to look inside at the real me
Who I was, who I am, different yet the same
Fighting through the battles, torn and scarred
The only way to get over the shame

We all make mistakes, admitting it or not
I too was only created in an image
Falling short, falling hard, bottomless abyss
Truly sorry for the paths that I may have strayed
For the monsters I’ve created

Still I have become my judge, my jury, and my own
executioner
Pontius Pilate at my crucifixion
Seeing things that I don’t want to see
Judge, jury, and executioner
Pontius Pilate at my crucifixion
Feeling things that I don’t want to feel
Blood on my hands
My own blood from my own crucifixion
Believing things that I don’t want to believe,
And all in the name of repentance...

Bless me father for I have sinned,
With my first breath of life I became tied to you
With a never-ending need for forgiveness
Always sorry for the very way of the world

As if through death I could enact a change...

STEPPING INTO THE DISTANT PAST

" I open the door and cross the threshold of imagination...".
Too hesitant to enter,
I pause and ponder:
is this a place of wonder?
What tempts me to open it?
Is it curiosity or desire,
and what lies beyond it?

The aged brown door decorated with brass painted in black,
has a distinctive Gothic style of a house of prayer standing yards from the bay;
will I find in the rear an altar made of marble
with an angel on each side guarding off evil?
Once inside that mysterious chapel, where monks venerated God, I must
follow it to where it leads me, neither fear nor superstition can frighten me!

If it has no bell-tower, where are the bells? Were they stolen to make swords?
Was it destroyed by fire or by the enemy who was a heartless infidel?
It could be rebuilt and brought to the lost splendor of those amazing ages,
and to rebuild it from the ashes, only faith can induce such an ambitious will...
could I envision, perhaps a little too early, what a glorious sight it would be?
And if peace is found here, I will dwell in it as they did praising God indefinitely.

For Mother Teresa

For Mother Teresa

to see...

the clarity of beauty between the murky folds of life

to see...

the simple truths of living
between the horror and the endless strike

to see...

the innocent smiles of the children at play
while the elder preach hate and division and continue to slay

to see...

the endless yearning for that simpler better place
away from the hollow emptiness of this ostentatious space

to see...

the open vistas of this pale blue dot
the soft reds and fruity greens as this home is all we have got

to see...

the tears of the dispossessed who have been cruelly cast aside
and while we look the other way from their tears we may never hide

to see...

the endless hunger and despair and killing and greed
in the name of God or of ideology or of some or the other creed

to see...

and to see it all

and still stand tall

to hold on to the humanity

that resides deep within us all

may be our only saving grace

and though all of this sounds quaint and saccharine sweet

I need to remember all that I've said

the next time I look into a teary-eyed desolate face

to see...

that being human is simple if we only look beyond ourselves and see

that we are all one, him and her and them and us and you and me...

Angels' Wings

To one who has touched angels' wings
From one who still reaches
To one who has learned all there is to know
From one who knowledge beseeches

To one who has attained peace
From one who fights for pride
To one who is stands in the center
From one who sits off to the side

To one who is always carried
From one who must always walk
To one who is always spoken to
From one who must always talk

To one who everyone adores
From one who needs love
To one who is never below
From one who is never above

To one who is perfect
From one makes mistakes
To one who always wins
From one who loses after raising the stakes

To one who always knows
From one who must always learn
To one who never worries
From one who is always concerned

To one who has created the world
From one who lives on this Earth
To one who has never been sad
From one who has never had mirth

To one who always smiles
From one who always frowns
To one who always hears prayers
From one who hears horrid sounds

Hear my prayer to you God
To help me learn Your teachings
To You, who has touched angels’ wings
From me, who is always reaching

What If We Had Prayer In Schools Today

What If We Had Prayer In Schools Today?

What if we had prayer in schools today?
And the students were allowed to pray?

What if the students read their Bible in class?
Perhaps they’d have a foundation that would last!

What if the students, in the classrooms,
 across this nation…
Knew that Jesus can make them a NEW creation!

Isn’t it about time that we invite
 God into our schools?
Instead of living by our own set of rules?

Isn’t it about time that we confess our wayward sins?
And allow God into our lives… Once again???

Isn’t it about time that we call on Jesus’ name?
Only he can remove all of our sin and shame!

Isn’t it about time that we think about our eternity?
And find true love and joy!
 And a godly security!

Isn’t it about time that we get on our knees in prayer?
And talk to a loving God
 who listens and cares?

The time for change, we need to understand!
We need a Godly revival across our land!

We need to listen and follow God’s instructions!
Or we’ll soon find our society’s destruction!

God is the only one that we can depend on!
His word is what our nation must stand on!

There Will Come A Day

It's so funny to hear them all laugh aloud as if it never mattered,
One day they wont feel so Joyful because their lives have been shattered.

Not taking their time to understand or make any plans for the days to come,
Soon they will find out how bad things really are when they are on the run.

How I have tried to show them these things they do will only cloud thier way,
For them to settle down and start planing for those times that will come one day.

Why it is so difficult for them to see what I am saying was meant to be,
To do nothing to correct their paths rough roads is all they will see.

There will come a day when they wish they had paid attention,
I was telling them we must beware but they would not listen.

It will be as the end of days for those who did not pray,
Never Thanking the Lord for the blessings each and every day.

Remember those words Please Father Forgive them ,
For they do not know what they do ,I say , Amen..

Dearest and Deepest Reflection

I should like to hold you
For a little while if I may;
For nothing more than comfort
On this dismal, dreary day.

Locked within these thoughts that spin
Like spider webs in my brain;
Wishing I might see you walking
Right out in the rain.

Step by step no doubt you’d let
My weariness fade fast;
Like blackness chased away from light
As when morning comes to pass.

I’d give up nearly everything
To see you eye to eye;
To touch your face as we retrace
Sweet memories, bye and bye.

And if I could say one simple prayer
Or wish upon a star;
I’d pray that you could find me too
Knowing immeasurably how far.

I’ve let myself go like winds that blow
With no destination or direction;
My life ring and only song that still sings
Is remembering you
Are my Dearest
                         And
                                 Deepest
                                               Reflection.

The Wickedness That Abounds

The Wickedness That Abounds! Throughout this world, wickedness abounds! Just about everywhere, it can be found! God’s word says sin leaves a very dark stain. We have no one else, but ourselves, to blame! The heart of man is desperately wicked inside! It causes many to be filled with much pride! We often hear of tragedy shown on the t.v. You may think, “this will never happen to me!” A mind without God, gives the devil “fertile soil.” It’s like water in a teapot that’s ready to BOIL! Without God’s word, as our guide and rule… We’re empty inside, and are easily fooled! The goodness of God can calm the troubled heart! On your knees in prayer, is a good place to start! The grace of Jesus is powerful! And can instantly change! With Jesus, your life can be restored, and “ re-arranged!” All of the government spending cannot match HIS power! With Christ… You can overcome anything! This very hour! Please Jesus, come and remove our burdens amongst us! We need you here today! And to always be with us! YOU ARE what we need all across this great nation! By the power of your blood and wondrous salvation! By Jim Pemberton 05/09/13

What Does God See In Me

What Does God See In Me?

When God looks down...
what does he see?
What kind of person would he find in me?

Would he find a life
"tossed around and confused?"
One that's been "worn out and abused?"

Does he look at me as
 "a pebble in the sand?"
Would he reach out to me with his hand?

"Yes my child... and I'll do much more."
"It was for you that my son died for."

"I love you and give
undivided affention."
"To bring you true happiness
and Godly direction."

"My love for you is never ending."
"My desire is to be with you--
I'm not pretending."

"I have come that you may
have life more abundant."
"Don't think of my awesome
power as being redundant."

"I'll bring true contentment deep within."
"And will always be your very best friend."

"Listen to me...listen to my voice."
"I have called and loved you...by MY choice."

"Allow me to write your
 name in my journal"
"llow me to bring you
 true joy and life eternal."

"I forever promise to bring
peace to your soul."
"And will be with you wherever you go!"

It's a Crazy World I'm Living In

It is a crazy world I’m living in
Don’t know where I am or where I’ve been
I’ve lost my mind some people say
But it lost me along the way
Was very weak right from the start
Was always ruled by my heart
Then my heart, it did betray
And left me for another one day
Life’s not easy when you’re missing parts
Don’t miss my mind, but I miss my heart
All I had left was my soul to keep
And I gave it to god as I fell asleep
I prayed for the answers to keep me together
Through the storms that I must weather
Then once again I’ll be full speed ahead
I’ll live in my heart and think with my head

God Is Awesome and His Beauty Displayed

God Is Awesome and His Beauty Displayed!

God is awesome and his beauty displayed!
He’s my protector! I’ve no reason to be afraid!

God is wonderful! And his glory never ends!
He is my Lord! My provider and friend!

God is magnificent! And his glory is real!
Behold the God of Abraham, Jacob and Israel!

God is omnipresent!
 He’s wherever I go!
His son Jesus, has totally
 cleansed my soul!

He’s the reason that I am here today!
I love him much more, than words can say!

He’s the reason why I can face tomorrow!
He’s removed my pain, guilt and sorrow!

His word is my guiding light as I travel on.
It shows me what is right.. And what is wrong!

He put his love, like a shield around me!
I once was lost, but his spirit found me!

He’s given to me his faithfulness! Forever true!
And spoke to me; “I’ll forever LOVE YOU!”

He’s my rock, my hope and salvation!
Through Jesus, there is no separation!

He can be your God too!
 Why not come to him?
Through Jesus, is where
 a new life BEGINS!

DELVE

Genuine integrity and honor they say
Comes from an absolute spiritual way
Sending messages you keep deep inside
Misfits and sinners stand silent with pride.

Society needs to delve deep today
Many of us alone, or withdrawn in some way.
Our morals get lost...we keep on trying
To Keep ourselves safe we may start lying.

Not one little spirit is quite so rare....
That their sins are forgotten with one simple Prayer
Gotta be honest and humble...it's true
Lessons learned are not all that new

Simple deceptions of powers inside
Allow us to listen to our false pride
Perhaps there is nothing more...nothing less
These words of wisdom just put in a chest

How many times have you heard people Chant
Believe in the power of saying, " I can't"...?
We need time today to think and ponder
Allowing our souls to willfully wonder

Life's reality seems quite profound
Once you delve deep you've then yourself found
Judging yourself from the inside...
Lay no judgment and swallow your pride~

Saga

Saga (1)
Seeing the lives of saga saints
I wanted to pass life reclusively
Nothing hoarding for further life
Holding only covering body
Two metres of clothe dwindled
From shoulders to leg
One water holder for quenching thirst
For hunger purpose everywhere
In the beautiful make up of my lord
Who caused me and gave life
Will raise burden for food sake
Later on coming here I‘m alone
Without loves and fairs
I never secured myself
As unstrung kite in the sky
For my sake a string of hope
Bundled at least to live
Determining to extract the mill of life
What purpose to construe
Such huge inaccessible plot
Making bereave of everything by super power
Just was sent naked, helpless
As a tiny clot on the earth
Even deer stag has got freedom
Since born they devise how to stand and run
In my case was turn the thinking plot
Crossing many seasons just new death
Stroke is enough to elude
Omit everything from my sight
And to me as well not numerating even
My being sometimes here on earth
For appreciable and satisfactory know
I decided to travel finding dawn –civilization
Who and where seeds of indifference
Were cultivated and had bloomed scarifying material veils
Almost in the setting of life
Hearing lectures of ancestors who defined
Experiencing mind body and limitation of all
Some portion of them is appreciable for life
That abandon all there is the start
It astounded mind not mending solution
Swallowed the capsule tablets of inner medicine
Only I compounded some relation with life and achievement
Verily speaking seriousness is the true destination in this regard
True, definite death comes, scarcity flies sighting the situation
No place to remain there

Continuing.... (2)
Because uncalled guests do not get proper attention
In comparison to others living in scarce
Mind seeks to meet abundance
Controlling it one can develop faith upon
The happiness of leave
Those who satisfied saintly knew the importance of diminish
All are in one line there is truth only in belief
Who landed truth only in belief stored incomparable peace
Saints’ claims are true
They have left mundane and have scored
High number to show other to ponder
Belief the source of success who concreted it achieved
No doubt no diversion no boundaries
Only can surround if by death
Conceive the history of heroic foundation of builders
Around the globe have same instinct and spirit
Taking to material things to immaterial hypothetical even
Supposing various problems have been solved

Are We Being Driven to God's Elimination

Are We Being Driven to God’s Elimination? In the names of diversity and anti-discrimination. It’s like we’re being driven to God’s elimination! God is being “forced” from many institutions! All in the name of this country’s constitution! We’re told that God and this country must be “separated.” Anything less is what many would call; “discriminated.” Any forms of Godly virtues or values are “torn down.” Any symbol of a cross, is often “removed from the town.” It’s no wonder that this country’s in such a big mess! And yet this country wants to be strong and blessed? “What shall the righteous do if the foundations are destroyed?” Meanwhile, the tide of ungodliness, is often “enjoyed.” Those who are trying to remove God! You must beware! His judgment is soon coming! And will catch you unaware! There’s will come a day! When God’s wrath you will endure! The wages of sin is death! This is very true and sure! People may think that removing God is the “thing to do.” Anyone who attempts to do will wind up as “a fool.” Only God can fill the void in life and true love within! Only he has the power to free your soul from sin! The words; “in God we trust,” in our lives must be applied! Everything we’ll ever need… God has supplied! God is this country’s hope! It’s only true foundation! We need HIM right now! To come and heal our nation! By Jim Pemberton

The Shadow Cast

The shadow cast was so gigantic
My shadow small could not measure up
The feeble efforts__ my meager life
To gigantic shadow that was cast

Hard workin', energetic, gifts held
So that I could grow be giant oak
Strong sturdy solid gave your all__ life
Limbs were used to heat center of home

The leaves to mulch the flowers, roses
Acorns to the feed the squirrels, deer, wild life
But what a shadow across the yard
A shady place for one to sit and grow

Or sit close to your trunk to weather
The storms that come from time to time
How I miss that Oak that is now gone
Cut down removed used for heat

Hearth and home for several winters
So long ago but the __memories
Of the beauty as you lifted
You limbs in prayer and praise

Grace

While I thought you slept, I broke into your mansion to rob you.
I should have been shot on scene as a trespasser
With only the stain of my blood left to be scrubbed away,
But you fed me, clothed me, and gave great gifts to release me from need.

In the act, you caught me defiling your bride.
Your boiling anger should have overwhelmed and terrified me.
Strong hands of a passionate husband should have clenched around my neck.
Instead of strangling me, you embraced me as if I were your closest friend.

Why was I spared from the cross that I deserve?
Even now I feel the gaps in my hands where the nails were not.
Why do you sustain when you should decrease and destroy?
Each breath was stolen from the lungs of your son.

Why is forgiveness your desire, and not the exacting of revenge?
The gavel is in your hand and the charges against me are read.
Why, even more, am I the blessed traitor who was given clemency?
My actions deserve death, yet you pour treasure in my lap.

This seems overly ridiculous to all of my dull senses.
I'm confused by the stark contrast of my new fate.
Baffle me daily so that daily I beg for your guidance.
My intelligence is insufficient as eyes are to emit light.

Remind me constantly of the buffoon that I was
So I might be first to cry for mercy for others like me
Remind me consistently of how you relieved my immense debt
So my dread fear for the lives of my new friends might vanish

If I insolently stand against you in anything your will seeks
Maintain your compassion toward me and direct me back to your side
If I habitually abandon my post due to my sheer neglect
Find me again and discipline me in your swift grace

I am a low and foolish individual who mourns over my isolation.
You celebrate with your community of faithful followers.
Include me once more in the joys of your resounding favor,
And often prompt me to speak of you, who thwarted my plans.

Crying Out - 2

Have my peccant daydreams seep away
Purged from my mind devoid all delay
Evaporate those thoughts like the mist
Wring as a sponge, oh LORD, with a twist
Have me absorb ideas you adore
Blessed visions soak deep to the core
Living water so pure for my soul
Please, fill me up, each pore, every hole
My thoughts are wrong, so done be your will
Your providence is far greater still
So, God, exchange, my sin with your grace
Each transgression, remove every trace
Though my frail mind compels me to turn
With drowning pain, my life, you did earn.

Giving Thanks This Thanksgiving Day

We Salute Our Veterans

We Salute Our Veterans…

We salute every soldier who’s
 served this great nation.
And offer a heart of thanks
 and appreciation!

We salute each member
of our armed forces.
And are thankful for their
 efforts and resources!

We salute the many who
protect our borders too.
We’d be in trouble…
If not for people like YOU!

We salute every son and
daughter lost in a war.
YOU are what serving this
 country is meant for!

We salute the officers who’ve
guided our women and men.
Our prayers are with you!
And our love from within!

We salute our veterans!
Wherever they may be!
Those who served on
 land, air and sea!

Offering prayer to the
 Lord is our belief…
That he will guide our
 Commander-in-Chief!

As we observe Veteran’s Day this year…
Let’s offer our soldiers
 love, hope and cheer…

May God bless them in
 all they endeavor
And his peace be with them
 today and forever!!

Fear

He is pessimist's prime,
Developing and enveloping our entire minds.
We shatter ourselves just to see him succeed,
But realize with him, we have nothing we need.
So it's time to break the spell he cast,
And pray to God his work won't last.
I thank God for He is always here
Because without Him and with fear,
No cup and no cheer,
For our end would draw near.

What If Christmas Never Came

UNSUPPORTED CODE What If… Christmas Never Came???

What if Christmas never happened?
What if Christmas never came?
Things around here would be different!
It wouldn’t be the same!

What if the baby Jesus was never born in a manger?
Mankind would be in serious trouble. We’d all be in danger!

If the baby Jesus wasn’t born. There would be no nativity.
We wouldn’t be able to display this during our “festivity.”

It’s almost like this now!
 It’s an “ever increasing business.”
It seems like nearly everyone wants
  “Christ out of Christmas!”

Why does it seem like Christmas is
 losing it’s true meaning?
The very words; “Merry Christmas,”
seem to be quickly disappearing!

Many say; “Happy Holiday.”
They worry they may “offend.”
Having a “holiday” without Christ….
Once again!

We need to put Jesus Christ back into
our CHRISTmas season!
He is what Christmas is about! HE is the very reason!

May we all take some time to rejoice in our savior’s birth.
May there be shouts of JOY! From the corners of the earth!

Let’s not take Christ out of our joyous celebration!
We need him so much right now!
 All over this great nation!

May we bring to him a heart of love
 for everything he’s done.
As we bring honor to Christ. God’s precious son!

May we continually offer to him a heart filled with praise!
Not only at Christmas time… But all of our days!

Will God Accept Me

Will God Accept Me?

I had nothing to offer to God but a life of shame.
I was embarrassed of the mention of my name

I had nothing to offer to God but “failure.”
I didn’t know if he listened to me prayer?

I had a life that was just falling apart.
I often cried from a wounded heart.

I began to blame myself for things going wrong.
I began to feel like I didn’t belong.

I’d begin each day with a lot of stress and tension.
I didn’t feel any kind of love or appreciation.

Many of my friends began to “leave me behind.”
There wasn’t a single “friend” I could find!

Just when everything was falling around me...
Jesus was there! His love began to surround me!

“Lord, please help me!” Where the words spoken.
My life was coming apart!, And was empty and broken!

Jesus reached down and took a hold of my hand!
And told me everything I went through... He understands!

Day by day he brought to me a peace I never knew!
Putting my life back together was what he wanted to do!

As I read his word, his spirit renewed my mind.
A precious friend in HIM… I was able to find!

He accepted me! And gave so much more!
He truly is what living my life is meant for!

He is and will always be the Lord for me!
And can do the same for you! Most certainly!

Has Jesus Changed Or Is It Us

Has Jesus Changed? Or Is It Us? I often hear of the “newest fashion.” Perhaps I’m one that’s “old fashioned?” Even at church, there’s a push for “contemporary.” Throughout the building, and the sanctuary. I suppose many want to keep up with “the times.” It’s the way of reaching the hearts and minds. I wonder; “has Jesus changed?” “Or is it we?” “Are we walking in Christ?” “Are we truly free?” I’m not going to worry about keeping up with the rest… I’m giving my life to Jesus And Ill try to do my best! I want to give him my love, and my attention! I’ll let others worry about their own direction! Just a simple faith in Christ is what I’ll count on! Christ is always someone that I can depend on! You stick with new ideas and current fashions! I think I’m going to love Jesus, with a compassion! He’s all that I need, and someone that I’m proud of! As long as I have him... Everything else I need less of! Does Jesus change? No! He’s the same as ever before! His promises and words of life I always need more! I thank and bless Jesus! And the power of his name! With him in my life! Things will never be the same! By Jim Pemberton

Death Awaits Me

It seems as if the darkness was like a veil that
Covered and kept my heart away!

Death Awaits!

Hey listen to my tragic story
One melodramatic story
The one that even I hate to remember
I had lost my wife!
My only real love in life!
And my children would soon follow after her!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits!

I have no hope left in me
Lost my house after my job
And soon I had been forced onto the streets
I have been starving for days!
Crying tears of blood!
Then finally I submitted to the darkness!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits! Death Awaits!!!

It's like karma came back to haunt me
Taking everything that I once cherished!
It seems as if the darkness was like a veil that
Covered and kept my heart away!

Death Awaits...

Now that I've been corrupted
There was no way to stop me
I had all the power necessary to live
However, I cried for help!
Terribly crying on the inside!
Hoping for a release from this world!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits!

I felt like an empty shell
One taking space and frail
Asking for some salvation or a way out
I'm tired of living!
I don't need this life!
Not if I am to be left alone in this world!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits!
Death Awaits! Death Awaits!!!

It's like I held my life in my grasp
But then it all got taken away suddenly
It's like the darkness is slowly dragging me
Into a cold and dark oblivion!

How I wish that I could fade into the
Darkness and have death carry me away
But it would seem as if I'm made to
Suffer for eternity...
I've done what I've coud to try and
Take my own life away but I've failed!
So I'm on my knees begging the
Darkness to take me away!

Death Awaits! Death Awaits...

I call upon the darkness to do me a favor
I pray that my prayer will be answered
Take my life away for I want to
Be with my family once again...

Death Awaits...

Sometimes the Weight

Sometimes the weight of the world comes in a thought
Of those we miss, and things we long again to do
My weight is in the things I long should have wrought
The love I long to perform without opportunity to do.
Sometimes the turtle's race is the road not taken
The sudden impulse to sun the futile wings of wax
The patience longing to breech the prayer of heaven
O I cannot back again, I cannot walk the empty tracks.

O tell me not to lay my shoulder bare of you, O love
Tell me not to martyr my soul for joy's well being
To cheer the brooding heart the soul must be a weeping dove
The climber of the mountain has no time to view the scene.
Sometimes the weight of the world comes in a thought
A sense of failure, purpose lost along the way of pain
The more I lost you, love, the more for me I sought
The more I find me the heavier grows this mortal chain.

Are You God ophobic

Are You God-ophobic? I’ve heard of phobias of different kinds. I’m sure there’s many people with “confused” minds. But there’s one “phobia” that concerns me the most. It’s a “God phobia” that’s drawing so close. It’s like people have a phobia of “In God we trust.” While so many of their lives are burdened with lust. A lust for pleasure and whatever “pleases for the moment.” Many are looking for various kinds of “fulfillment.” But fearing and obeying God? This sounds absurd! Why should anyone care? Much less… Read his word? Even prayer seems to be “a thing of the past.” How much longer will this country last? What we should fear… Is the wrath of God that will come… For not believing and accepting Jesus… His son! Everything we’ll ever need. Has already been provided! An abundant life with Christ can now be decided! Won’t you accept his gift of life everlasting? And look beyond human reasoning and understanding? Put your faith in God. And HIM alone! So you too, can have a place in his eternal home! By Jim Pemberton

Peace in the night

When will the rain fall warm
on cold feet;
that have tracked muddy trails
to places I've only dreamed.

When will the wind blow softer
notes; remind me that peace
isn't a lonely cough
                            ...but a calming melody.

When will the sun rise,
and not burn tired eyes?

I reach into a shattering sky,
and pull down what I can not see.

The last memory,
of what could be.

I find hope when the sky turns,
afraid to give it my back;
always looking up
...toward the only brilliance I still know.

Glistening mystery;
how fondly I wonder

                   about all that space,
                            quiet and eternal.

Somewhere,
                   there is peace.

Somewhere this dust
can settle,
and be at rest in the sight of something new.

As I Knelt Down To Pray

As I Knelt Down To Pray… Last night, as I knelt down to pray. I was at a loss for the words to say. So much to pray for. It was overwhelming. I thought about what life is becoming! People’s heartaches.. I’ve heard a few! What, in the world, is one going to do? I prayed for the many lost souls around. And for the joy in many that can’t be found. I prayed for many difficult situations. And for many to receive God’s gift of salvation. I asked God to cleanse me of my sins. As each day, a new journey in my life begins. I asked God to inspire me to share him with others. And not forget his command to love one another! I asked God to forgive me of wrongs I committed. And to forgive me of people that I’ve “omitted.” I asked God to bless those who’ve meant to harm me. And to help others, whether or not they love me! I asked God to help me to stay on the narrow road. And to trust him, even when I’m carrying a heavy load! I ask you now Lord Jesus, to have you way in my heart. From your spirit’s direction... May I not depart! May I keep close to me, the love that you’ve given. And be humble in knowing my sins are forgiven! May you help me to be your example that will shine. While I am still here. And still have the time! Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer to you! I am honored for the opportunity just to know you! By Jim Pemberton

what if

ccwhat if everything were perfect
exactly as it is
since you are awake
to read and understand this poem
and your life is not all that bad
because you're not hungry or thirsty
and you have a bed in which to sleep
and your lover is good,
your children love you and
your friends respect you

what if your dreams give you power
and your thoughts take them away
and lock them into the vault of self-doubt
what if gratitude was the prayer that
you prayed unceasing to the god of your
choosing and the brilliant light that is yours
eternal shines from the inside and you
can see it in the mirror as you wash your
face in the rain on your own way to
the sacred grove where you meet your
shadow
and it flies away on the wings of the angel
that you brushed away like an insect,
touching your skin with poems that come
from heaven.

What if there is nothing but love?

The Beauty of God's Love

I will never
 fully comprehend.
The beauty of God’s love
that I have within!

From where I was,
 to where I am today…
I praise him! More than
 words can say.

I shall give him all
 honor, glory and praise.
And be obedient to him,
  all of my days!

He’s more precious to me
 than ever before,
His presence in me—
I need so much more!

His marvelous love,
shall bless me to the end…
For this, I say, “Hallelujah”,
“Glory to God!” and “Amen!”

A Trapped Mind

Winds of variation blow, eyeless in sight, never knowing the tide is ever flowing.

The stars eclipse and matrix shift, cosmic feelings from a heart brings freedoms evocations.

Smudge now and pay later, a prayer for peace written down in a book of lies.

A maiden voyage with every turn of the page, invocations abound changes are profound.

Musing as it happens a muted sole, but demented laughter where no one could capture.

Unfolding the envelope finding what’s unfair, new thing a sound heart beating something new
to be found.

Still to be told from a luminous heart of gold, a story that everyone knows, but truth has
never been told.

Trapped in a mind from light to light having no strength or temerity to break external.

In A Trapped Mind.

Love: bound and unbound

Let love fly
=
With ethereal compassion, a soft glow in her eyes,
she picks up the baby eagle, tries to convey words
of eloquent reassurance, sincerely she tries.

Look, June is here this morning; and sun is shining hot;
last night’s storm belongs to last night; it has left an eagle;
a homeless, hurt, upset baby; it feels forlorn, lost, caught.

Let it fly.

I Take Delight In Knowing Christ

In Jesus Christ… I take delight! He’s with me each day and night! In Jesus Christ… His love overflows! His love touches me, wherever I go! In Jesus Christ… The victory is won! All praise a honor to God’s precious son! In Jesus Christ… I needn’t be ashamed! He took all of my sin, guilt and blame! In Jesus Christ… I have an atonement! He’s willing to forgive, at any moment! It seems like there’s many people becoming “defensive.” As anything of God, is seemingly being “offensive.” People can peddle their smut and filth around. But a cross or nativity? They must come down! People can watch acts of fornication on their t.v. But, talking about God? “Why that’s offensive to me!” People often talk about their constitutional “rights.” Perhaps someone upstairs “turned out the lights!” Its amazing how money is spent getting God “removed.” What is it exactly that people are trying to prove? What’s next? Taking “in God we trust,” off our money? It could happen very soon! I’m not trying to be funny! Think about what’s happening and taking place! We’re told that we can’t pray in public? Or say grace? This whole country is being turned “upside down.” Our very foundations are being “tossed around!” In what’s being pursued as “political correctness…” Has left in many lives… A total weakness! God is being replaced what is “socially appealing.” Much of what’s in our society has no real meaning! A person can marry anyone they want, or smoke pot.. But what the truth of God’s word, can’t be taught? It’s time that we come to God, and totally repent! Before another wasted day we have spent! Sooner or later, God’s judgment will come out! Our lives need to be changed, and cleansed throughout! Jesus is the answer! Our only hope of salvation! We need him now! All across this great nation! By Jim Pemberton

IN MEMORIAM

The end of May is coming . . .
When the nation celebrates Memorial Day.
Schools and offices are closed . . .
  It's the summer's first holiday.

Do we remember why we celebrate today . . .
Or what the "Stars and Stripes" mean?
Do we ever remind our children . . .
Of where our flag has been.

From Bunker Hill to Yorktown . . .
  And Tripoli to New Orleans.
From the Halls of Montezuma . . .
It has waved up in the breeze.

From Chateau Thierry to the Argonne . . .
Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Tarawa, and Iwo Jima too.
From the Cassarein Pass to Messina . . .
From Anzio, Omaha Beach, Saint-Lo, and Bastogne she flew.

  From Pusan to Inchon . . .
From Hue, Tan Son Nhut, and places with stranger names.
From the Mideast Gulf to Bagdad . . .
  And then back home, again.

Are these just names in our history books?
  I say, "Not at All!"
They are the reminders of the resting places . . .
For those who answered the call.

For Men carried the flag of our country . . .
Through shot and shell and murderous fire.
Some of them have never returned . . .
To their homes and heart's desire.

Look at the field at Arlington . . .
The Punch Bowl in Hawaii or the land in southern France.
Where white crosses grow in the countryside . . .
For those who did not get another chance.

And what of those who did come home . . .
Do we ever really think of them?
They too, gave a full measure of devotion . . .
They too, had our liberty to defend.

So on this day when we grill our burgers . . .
Or are giving the ballgame a view.
  Take a moment to say a prayer of thanksgiving . . .
For those whose sacrifice made it possible for you.

THANKS TO ALL THE VETERANS WHO HAVE SERVED OUR COUNTRY . . .

          GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

the games of our mouths are but forest darkness.

Come to me with the Shadows of Doves and spilt papers.

The sharp dampness of well acquainted sheets, Swells,

Like God puffing Life and kisses up from the End of the Bed.

This room is crowded in Vanished Smiles.

I Want them Back.

I Want the sight of your Teeth biting down into your Wrists,

To be There Forever.

I Want The Sounds that you Never imagined Would involuntarily

Slip out of your Lips,

To Be memorized by these Walls

And Repeated to me. Over.

And over.

…

Death is in the Folding of Sheets.

The Idea that Happiness

Is Simply the Prayer

that Tomorrow Never Comes.

…

I Don’t Want to Accept That.

But…

Tomorrows been coming just the Same.

…

Where is my Measureless Night?

Time… cruel efficiency, Written out in Ashes….

How much of the darkness of my Soul, I Would Give,

To have you Back.

You had eyes

That no one could look at without Dying.

But this After…

Has become a Never-After,

And somehow Life has stopped coming with the Breeze…

Now… there are no freshly Cut Lawns… no sky above…

No Green. No Blue.

Just You.

And You.

And You…

Into the Shelter of the Months I fly.

I Wanted the Impossible…

And Somehow… everything… has become It.

Even Breathing, now, Lifting my Voice to Speak,

All of it, Is beyond Me.

You are out Of Reach

And Apparently

So is Life.

From substance to substance, water to water,

Love to Love,

I Died into You.

And as much as I’d like to regret It.

I Can’t.

You are Endless,

In Search Of Miracles

Whilst faced with dearth do we recall
The sudden tendency to pray
A prayer wishing for mere miracles
That from privation we may be spared.
And what kind, oh, one might ask,
Of miracle do you ask of?
The kind which cleanse the skin of lepers
Or make the cripple walk?

Are we, in truth, in search of miracles,
Or is magic what we want?

Enlightened

There’s no hope for humanity
A half-wit would think otherwise.
Collective Christianity
With its many brethren allies
Have failed its purpose for Christ’s sake!
With their arsenal of prayer beads,
Missals and psalms- they are opaque
Tools employed that never succeeds
In changing the nature of Man:
He is still greedy and hostile
Unchanged since first set foot on land
They’re members of this rank and file:
A congregate hypocrisy
Only the enlightened can see.

I Took Some Time With God

I Took Some Time To Spend With God…

I took some time to spend with God alone.
I asked for his blessing in my life and home!

I took some time to tell him that I love him!
I know that he listened and I can trust him!

It seems like yesterday I was a young boy.
There were many things I wanted to enjoy!

I enjoyed prayer with my lord and friend!
I felt his joy and peace within!

I didn’t realize how busy life would be…
I thought less of God,.. And more of me!

I’m thankful that I know a God who cares!
He’s never too busy for a moment to share!

He has blessed and renewed my mind!
He’s always so patient, loving and kind!

Thank you Jesus for the time we have together!
I’m looking forward to being with you forever!

You are the one that I will daily seek!
I need your direction each day of the week!

All praise and honor to you. is what I give!
I won’t forget you each day I shall live!

You’ve blessed and strengthened my life today!
You’re the truth, the life, and the way!

I shall sing of your praises with pure delight!
I know now that things in my life will be alright!

didn't hurt you

Said you in believe miracles
And our meeting has to be fate
That I meant to get a flat tired
In front of your gate

You said you prayer for
Love will come to your door
And the day that you meet me
It was answered for sure

I was just being a friend
To make a boring life fun
It was never my intention
To try to hurt any one

The only one that I ever love
Is a beautiful green eyes girl
And only time will tell
If our love story will be told

Please try to understand
I want to always be your friend
I will be there forever for you
Just in my heart no one can get in

And I didn’t hurt you
I just couldn’t fall in love
So many times I try to tell you
I’m not what you’re dreaming of

I can give the wrong idea
And are too blind to see
But I just like to treat people
As I want them to treat me

If I had my heart
I know I could love you
But it belong to some one else
And I can never love two

There is a girl that I really love
And it’s tearing my life apart
Everyday she fights to survive
With her ailing golden heart

So every morning I awake
I prayer that she will be ok
If anything happens to her
I can never face the day

I never intended to hurt you
It was never part of my plan
I only pretend to be happy
Because I’m really a lonely man

The only one that I ever love
Is a beautiful green eyes girl
And only time will tell
If our love story will be told

Have You Taken Time For Prayer

Have You Taken Time For Prayer?

Is your life filled with hopelessness and despair?
Have you ever considered taking time for prayer?

Talking with God, will bring to you needed refreshment.
You can talk to him now! With no appointment!

He's here to listen. To whatever you have to say.
You'll find he is very close... just a prayer away.

Whatever problems you have. Whatever your needs may be.
God's love for you... Through prayer... You'll begin to see!

Jesus is waiting for you to all on his name.
It was for YOU that to earth he came.

Praying to him is a blessing of his atonement.
He longs to meet your need. This very moment!

Allow HIM to remove all of your worry and fear.
Pray to him now... He is always here!!!

Emplore the flash before my eyes

Flash O mine heart
A Shine

A brightness Deftly left
Behind

Shielded from mine eyes
Of Ray

Leaving the Eternal black
Unscathed.

------------------------------

O Prayer Of rainbow red

Regret the feelings left unsaid

turmoil left within this mind

Collapsed the lungs

and turned to cries.

-----------------------------------------------------

In turn and out

Eternal do the angels shout

leaving only woe and flash

O the blindness I without

Realizing without doubt

I shall turn to ash

Forgotten about.

I Met Someone With Many Struggles

I Was Talking To Someone With Many Struggles,…

I was talking with someone with many struggles.
It seemed like everything he tried just meant “trouble.”

He was trying to pay the bills the best he could.
Why he had so much trouble…. Wasn’t understood?

He asked why God could allow him so many trials…
He had certainly traveled many journeys and miles!

He asked for prayer and I didn’t know what to say.
I knelt with him and bowed down to pray.

I remembered the journeys I had been through.
And at times I really didn’t know “what to do!”

I remembered when it seemed like
the world was “crashing in.”
There was no one I could turn to... Not even a friend!

I cried; “Lord, If I lose everything else but still have you…”
“Then I don’t care what happens or what others do!”

As I shared with him the struggles I’ve dealt with,,,
I shared with him God’s love that I’ve been blessed with!

As I shared with him I felt a “lifting” of his heavy burden.
His faith in Christ became all the more certain!

Jesus said; “in this word you shall have much tribulation.”
“I have overcome!” “Rejoice with jubilation!”

He is and will always be the answer
 to your every problem!
Won’t you invite him in and
 allow him to “solve them?”

His love is ever so patient, willing and kind…
And is here with you… Every single time!

He is powerful!. He’s the beginning and the end!
He’s all you ever need!
Glory to God and AMEN!!!

Ambrosia's Anthem

My yesterday's rush by me as the
songs of many rivers wherein is the
inspiration of my youth.
Therefore do I go but into wilderness pain
relevant thought, sinful iniquity.

I die but in the chagrined shores of my soul
which bear witness to rebirth awakening
spent on today's word but tomorrows promise.

Canst not the wine of redemption
be brought on the tears
of many men?
Can a man not live again through
the ageless promises of wanton wrath
which we serve yet even when we sleep.

Time gives us but a glimpse
of bewildered fear
born unto days divinity
a prayer given to ancients
but cast on the winds
wither soever they should go
may it be that those prayers
rescind to bounties of lords and legions.

Wishes Worth Forever

Wishes Worth Forever

My first and foremost want abides beyond eternity.
Wish one would be to roam on high within Our Father’s home.
I would see in God’s abode, my “eternal family”
All of us together there where forever we could roam.
Beyond life’s mortal breath from God, eternity we’d comb.

Secondly, I would wish for love throughout humanity.
So boys and girls, yes, parents too would live in perfect peace.
Then days would fill with blissfulness, and human sanity.
While differences finds calm resolve and every hatred cease.
Respect for life and fellowman would flow with loves’ increase.

The third wish would be one for me, perfection it would be.
Where never would mistakes be made that hurt another soul.
A prayer within my heart would stay as wisdom I would see.
And strength to serve would be a joy with praises never told.
Living in harmony with God forever beyond old.

Three lovely wishes I would make for three is all I need.
To help me reach my heavenly goal; live with God on high.
In this life, I seek to live, my faith growing like a seed.
Forgiving self and others for mistakes made by and by.
As life goes on, as it is, I’ll press onward as I try.

Toy boat in the Fountains

Out of the good
the bad emerges.
The cold wind bites.
The ocean surges.
Waves appearing
as big as mountains.
Like a toy boat
in the fountains.
Your miles from land
and it doesn't look good.
So you say a prayer to God
that's understood.
You've been here before
when all your hope died.
The promises were made.
I'm gonna change, you lied.
This time I really mean it
you convince yourself.
On your knees knowing it's over.
Again you plead for his help.
Please Lord, if I make it this time
no more lies will I be caught in.
But then the sun comes out
and the promises are forgotten.

WAITING UPON THE LORD

WAITING UPON THE LORD

We are promised in scripture that if we will wait upon the Lord He will renew our strength
Learning to be still and know that He is God is where the power comes from to go the length
Being patient in prayer is where we hear His still small voice to guide us along the way
Reading His word is how we understand His will and learn to know what He wants to say.

Waiting upon the Lord is how our faith and trust in Him grows as we learn how to persevere
During this time we learn His promise is true we are never alone He is always with us here
It is the process by which He changes His children and transforms us into being like His Son
This is how we mature and grow strong in Him and learn how to conquer and overcome.

We all face challenging seasons of testing during which time God seems distant and silent
Will we give up or choose to endure, seeking Him in faith as we learn to wait and be patient
This is the time where God grows our faith and trust the most and our character is made new
When we come out the other side people will see a little more of Jesus and a little less of you.

Are We Being Driven to God's Elimination

Are We Being Driven to God’s Elimination? In the names of diversity and anti-discrimination. It’s like we’re being driven to God’s elimination! God is being “forced” from many institutions! All in the name of this country’s constitution! We’re told that God and this country must be “separated.” Anything less is what many would call; “discriminated.” Any forms of Godly virtues or values are “torn down.” Any symbol of a cross is often “removed from the town.” It’s no wonder that this country’s in such a big mess! Only God has the power to free your soul from sin! The words; “in God we trust,” in our lives must be applied! Everything we’ll ever need… God has supplied! God is this country’s hope! It’s only true foundation! We need HIM right now! To come and heal our nation! By Jim Pemberton

dystrophy

The open wound that festers and burns
how long have I ignored it?
I spent all night praying
that this decay hadn't touched my core...

There is nothing between here and the sky
That rages as violently as our hidden hearts.
It doesn't matter how often we say "I love you",
those words only become sticks and stones
in a heart that vomits out hatred, annulling,
everything else, even now,
our prayer is trapped inside.

The huge void between here and the sky
swallows us whole, why is everything rotting
before our eyes? This heart holds too many secrets,
it's collapsing into itself, ripping itself apart and
the precious sentiments it holds inside.
Vomiting, rejecting, annulling -
Only the tombstone will be white.

Images of Ed

I see him lying there,
Respirator clicking off and on.
Skin so cold, no sign of life...
My son, my precious boy,
How can this possibly be?
I am old, I should be the one dying..
There is no prayer unsaid that night..
The nurse, so compassionate,
enfolds me in her arms.
I try to carry the image of him as a little boy,
Not this aberration, this affront to life.
But this picture hides away, often springing
from nowhere to break my heart again.

My son had a cardiac arrest while jogging..age 34.
He is alive and well due to miraculous advances
in medicine

Trading Shoes

He's gone,
Put away
You never knew it would happen to someone close to you
I can't relate
But I imagine the miles walked in your shoes

She left and never came back
Left for someone else to raise you
The hole in your heart feels both love and hate
No, I can't relate
But I imagine the miles walked in your shoes

You fell in love and thought he loved you
Menstral flow a few weeks late
Months later, left you and the baby too
No, I can't relate
But I can imagine the miles walked in your shoes

Bills due
Stress is high
Nothing left but a prayer and faith
Yes, I can relate
Can you imagine the miles walked in my shoes

Waking up everyday
Trying to hide the pain
That shows all over you
Yes, I can relate
Can you imagine the miles walked in my shoes

Others blinded by the smile given by you
Rendering lies to hide the truth
When you and God knows exactly what you're going through
Yes, I can relate
Can you imagine the miles walked in my shoes

Meadow's Sigh

The meadow’s breath a gift to all, the misty mornings’ dew,
a silent sigh, a heartfelt call, a prayer to me and you.

So green and warm, and full of life, the forest skirt and the maids’ delight.
There rabbits dwell in lovers’ dells;A gauze filled dream in morning light.

So gold and bright, and full of life, the forests skirt and Knights delight;
The Dame and doe do lie, ‘pon hillocks high, where lovers sleep with passion's cry.

So white and fair, yet full of life, the forests’ skirt of pearly white;
Where burrowers sleep in bowers deep, and hearths light on winter nights.

The meadow's breath a gift to all, the misty morning’s dew;
A silent sigh, a heartfelt call, aA prayer to me and you.

Now, no green bloom, no home for them, the builders-men once more;
to take the glen and make man's homes, no deer will roam fourscore.

A meadow’s a home to many things, to bold butterflies and birds on wing,
Yet, few can dwell where men reside if forest's skirt, gives way to tide.

The meadow's breadth a gift to all, from sea to shining sea
America, a heartfelt call, a prayer to you and me.

One man

One man comes with long hair
And ask them to believe
But they plot to prosecute him
Cause he see a den of thieves

One man comes from god
They nail him to the cross
Now for the sins of some
We all feels the lost

But that man will come again
A promise he made to humanity
And his words are very clear
Behold I come quickly

One man hears a voice
From the angel Gabriel
And to the world
A holy book was revealed

 Bringing peace and tolerance
But wicked lives with out shame
Committing acts of terror and violence
And every one gets the blame

This man writes this poem
To bring these facts to the blind
Hoping they will see it clear
And treat each other kind

Some men use their powers
To take away women’s right
Some use the name of religion
To start wars to fight

Some men give guns to children
To go and kill other men
When they should be in school
Carrying a book and pen

Some men die in foreign lands
In war their hearts regrets
While in their own country
They’re too young to buy cigarettes

Message to all these men
Who to hide behind god’s name
You will enter the gates of hell
And forever burn in the flame

Better days are coming
So let’s join hands as we wait
And say a prayer together
And respect each other’s faith

Memories of this Year

The fireplace now all lit,
the warmth brings memories
of this year with you.

Holly now strung all down the rails,
But the moments I adore of
Christmas is time with you.

Others are rushing into
maddening crowds.
Breaking the checkbook and
spoiling the meaning of this holiday.

But for me it is the ray of hope,
that heavenly link in the rope
sent so long ago.

When first as a child I stare upon
you in your infant form beneath,
the tree in a wooden manger.

Low and behold, I did not know
how important that first sight
would become in my life.

But sitting here with you
In spiritual presence,
Is the best Christmas present
I could ever long for this year.

Having you near and communing
over all the joys and memories together.
Thank you for this Holiday Dear Lord Jesus.
My prayer is all people come to know the
True reason for this season.

Christ Jesus in You, With You, By You.

I Once Loved To Tell Others Of Jesus

I once loved to tell others of Jesus as a young boy. My heart was filled with love, prayer and joy. Talking about Jesus, I had spent. I loved to talk about him, everywhere I went. As the years went by, I started growing old. The things of God, I had no longer told. A coldness in my heart began to brew. Even God’s word-I no longer knew. I only talked about God to people in the church. But in my heart was a hunger for a new search. A search to return to Jesus-my long lost love. I fell on my knees and cried to God above. As I began to confess to God everything. A newness to my life I knew he would bring. I began to feel his love come all over me. The chains were now gone-I was set free! If a coldness for Jesus dwells in you. Remember his love is steadfast and true! Return to him to cleanse you within, And experience the joy of being born again! By Jim Pemberton

Set up for an Upset

have you ever felt like you've been set up?
have you ever felt like you've taken the fall?
you're angry, in denial, frustrated and fed up
while you're so-called friends are out having a ball

but when God sets you up it's a form of preparation
He's positioning you to receive a blessed commendation
that eviction notice, that pink slip, that broken romance
may be blessings in disguise
for God has to eliminate and move things about
in order to give you a greater prize

you've felt violated, abused, neglected and in pain
you're in the midst of a personal storm and under tremendous strain
but if you only come to understand one thing in this life
is that everything is in the hands of our Lord Jesus Christ
you need to let go and give God complete control
let Him set you up so you may achieve even greater goals

an upset occurs when the obvious favorite is surprisingly defeated
the underdog will claim the victory when the game is completed
we are all underdogs in life for we've all fallen short of God's grace
but God will give you an upset in order to take you to a higher place

you've been set up for an upset and the enemy is on the attack
don't worry about the opposition for Jesus has your back
to be like Samuel, King David and Joseph with that technicolor coat
set up by God to overcome adversity and to ride on the Holy Spirit's float
to be like Peninnah, Elizabeth and Mary followers of God's master plan
set up by God to be the vessels that placed great sons into His hands
to be set up by God you need an uncompromising faith
let Him give you an overflowing and abundant plate

God will set you up in order for you to achieve an upset
He will situate you in a position so you don't have to hedge your bets
so stop trying to orchestrate it all and attempt to do it on your own
let the power of prayer prove the glory that is His righteous throne
so just hold on, fight through it and then commence to pray
through the up and downs, trials and tribulations
that will come each and every day
and restore the joy by praying to God and the Holy Spirit will then step up
let the Lord God reposition you and by Him get set up

it might not make much sense to you those things that God has planned
it might cause you some anguish and anxiety
just keep the faith and hold on to His merciful hand
God will place you in a position to be set up for an upset
an unanticipated victory and a blessing you will then get

Bardo

BARDO.

May not the
Element of space
Rise against me
In acrid acrimony.

From the north
Arrives green goddess
Ghanta of serpent head
Garlanded with skulls
And in her hand
Holding metallic bells
Sounds of the surges
Deafening eared knell.

Let me remember
Infinite compassions
The past deeds
For all the things
Great and small
And for all the creeds.

For the white dove
For the yellow bear
For fields of worms
For earth borne cares.

Let not the
Element of sun
Arise against me
In wandering thirst
On burning symptoms.

Yogins arise westward
Bringing seeds of wisdom
With wavering garlands
 Amid four coloured lights
And the scented perfumes
Moulded from purified elements.

In all prevailing circles
Let not the element
Of the seeded earth
Arise against me.
In some splintered segment.

( Interval between death & new life)

Infinitely Wilting and Alive, I Know Him

I know him infinitely, in the forest where he grows.
Where speckled greenery is abundant and joyful, paranoid and secretive.
I know him infinitely.

Quietly observing his growth
I am patient as dew waiting to die.
His only wilting habit erases my sense of time
and there in some expanding Heaven I’ll deceive myself,
no white cloud holds me for I am weighted by his world
in which I consumed some time ago.

Trees that grow wild and tall may conceal his existence
but his will is strong and his roots drink only Holy Water;
in prayer I sense his sins which covet his soul.
He is no sin to me, just a beautiful thing I care to nurture.

Perhaps the hand of God planted this seed we found together
and in some universe this love is something of a treasure.
No metal ever so precious, no gold ever so spectacular
could compare to our fate embroidered infinity.

To know him is to apprehend the forest in which he is indifferent to.
He never heeds his immediate surroundings for he knows his home is Heaven,
and in each cloud he creates a step closer to discovering
an answer to the question neither of us claim yet are mutually mulling.

Silent are the days and nights but I know his eyes;
I know him infinitely wilting and alive in full bloom.

OUTLAW?

I knew his face from a poster,
That said he was wanted by the law,
It had little affect on me,
For I went by what I saw.

Two eyes of blue looked up at me,
So thin they looked like steel,
And a moustache so thick and bushy,
I wasn't sure if it was real.

Out on the plains of Kansas,
It is a hard and fast rule,
That to take in and hide a wanted man,
Are the actions of a fool.

But I'm not known for my reason,
Common sense is my only art,
And it told me I was safe,
Go on and follow my heart.

I took him to the old dugout,
Beside little creek,
Tended to his bullet wounds,
Nursed him while he was weak.

And I kept him there...a secret,
Made him strong and well,
An listened to the stories,
That he began to tell...

Of his life as a farmer,
Becoming a raider after the war,
He'd had a good reason once,
But couldn't remember "why" anymore.

When he tried to walk away,
The band refused to let him go,
They shot him and left him to die,
Where I found him in the cold.

I considered the sins of this man,
Waged them against my own,
Knew that for the right reasons,
My life would have taken a different tone.

And I knew there was no judging,
His past actions, or mine,
For his taking life, and my saving his,
Were both considered a crime.

So I hid him, and I'm not sorry,
For a time he was my own,
He told me once he loved me,
I was the closest he had to a home.

I procured a horse and a rifle,
Once he was mended enough to ride,
And politely refused his offer,
To join him by his side.

My last glimpse was the back of his hat,
As he dropped into the draw,
And I knew I'd not been wrong,
About the things I saw.

Deep inside those steel-blue eyes,
Lay a soul that had changed it's ways,
And his punishment would be in running,
Wanted...for the rest of his days.

And me, I'm still not repentant,
I'd do it all over again,
For sometimes Outlaws ain't evil,
Sometimes they're just men,

Who started out with good intentions,
And no matter what they may be,
The final call to judgement,
Won't come from you or me.

Because all of us are sinners,
By bad luck or circumstance,
And the only way out is common sense,
Prayer and a second chance.

So, pray with me for the Outlaw,
Cheer him on in his second try,
And start your prayer with the words,
"But for the Grace of God, there go I..."

IN MY PRAYERS

~In My Prayers~ (Free Style) My eyes I lift as I read Your Holy Book O my God, And prayers to You for all my friends then I send, As I go from verses to whole pages from the Bible You describe, I reflect in all the wonderful blessings that for us You still send As I go thru my daily walk with you my Lord, So many good and bad thoughts, come and go. But I know you want me to walk in faith and love, And in Your wisdom and Love everyday just to grow So many feelings in my heart and soul sought, So many dreams and wishes that life still holds. So many things about You that still I don't know, And there are those days I feel so tired and old But as I sumerge in Your Word I can hear You, And then I feel like myself again, completely new. He Speaks, The Still Small Voice

How could you abandon me, G-d.
I’ve waited for you to help,
And still my prayers go unanswered.
When my pain needed healing,
I counted on You -
To heal me,
But my pain was released by a caring mother.
When I needed a cry,
I counted on You -
To lean on,
But You weren’t there, just a caring brother.
When I needed help up when I fell,
I counted on You -
To tell me it’s alright,
But I was raised up by a loving father.
When I needed someone to talk to,
I counted on You -
To guide me the right way to go;
My best friend listened, but you didn’t bother.

Then suddenly a voice from within me spoke
A still, small voice, so quiet and beautiful:

“My Child,
I heard every word you spoke,
I never missed a prayer you wrote.
And think back to those times of need,
It’s not hard if you truly see -
I was with your caring mother;
Holding you, the caring brother;
Lifting you, the loving father;
Your best friend, I’m the one that bothered.
For I am in the one’s you love,
That see your light from up above.
My Child, you’re never on your own
I’m all around you - you’re not alone.”

Catholicity of Faith

Horoscopes defy what the mind already knows
Sagittarius categorized, Catholically inclined
Religion forces Signed eyes to reconsider deliverance
Archer status on the dance floor
Lips poised clothing crunk'd
High heels dipped in ghetto couture
Street loved, Sirens seem to posess me with Hip-Hop streaming
Cold blue steel pressed against my thigh
He makes me forget Good Girl analogies
Marxist ideologies and paying the water bill
Electric cars and global warming
Catholic tendencies clash with knee-jerk leftist remarks
Minorities have a propensity to be Democratically oriented
Shall I take it to the highest point of disregard
And let Disneyland dreams give way to worldly needs
                                                     Oh God
May we philosophize before his muscles take me over
Smiles reconcile what was once sober
Drunk off uncertainty
"I live for the moment" lies
We all need a little healing
I forget my repented chants to forgive sins
The more educated I become the harder it is to blindly believe
Faith is a tired charade that I must play
Center stage, bright eye'd and readily paid
I believe but must I rely on what the homily says
The bank notes the eagerness in charity of diluted masses
I trust in the Lord
Everyone needs a mentor
To relinquish safety in the face of uncertainty
Is something revolutionary
Am I to fall in love with guilt as my ancestors before me
Will Jesus still love me if i'm not sorry for smiling
I'm not sorry at all for being
Lividly in love with living
But was it T.S Elliot who was so declined to meet
The basic devotion in his poetry
Or was it me who denies faith everlastingly
I'm already twisted with these bottles of opiated, over the counter conviction
Priests who color me darker then I was before I dipped my hand
Into sanctified waters
Questions procede answers that are left for dying
The Vatican with daily mantras force me to facilitate fate
Is this the right religion for me
Why isn't faith enough, destiny binds me to unforgiving roots
Relatives in Zoot-suits trying to mix it up
The fine lines between being revolutionary and being impious
Are fading so slightly from the clear cut minds
Or is it mine whose mind is cut from something similar to sacrilede profanity
Surely we shall see
With prayer in my hand
the devil at my feet

' Why Do We Believe ? ... '

… Oh, Why Do We Believe ? …
… Because Real Legends, Never Leave
A Mistaken Myth, May Be Reality
Or Was It Just A Folklore Legacy

Is A Pure Promise, A Prophecy ? …
Oh, Why Do We Believe ? …

… All Our Storytelling Around Camp-Fires
Or Storytelling, Beneath Architect-Spires
Tales … To Help Get Thru Muck and Mire
But … Who Speaks True and Who Are Liars ? …

Which Promise, Is A Prophecy ? …
Oh, Why Do We Believe ? …

Pray Tell – Does A Myth Explain Mystery ?
Pray Tell – Will That Legend, Live For Eternity ?
Is It A Diluted or Overdeveloped History ?
Will The Story, Stand The Test of Accuracy ? …

Does The Promise, Point To A Prophecy ? …
Or A Fleeting, False, Folklore, Fantasy ? …

… For We Make Dream-Worlds, To Cope
and Dope and Smokes and Gold-Wealth-Ropes
or Super Heroes, Knights and Words, Wrote and Spoke
‘Cause Humans, Must Dream, We Must Have Hope …

… It Is In Our Everyday, Hustle-Scope
In Each and Every, Hurry-Clock-Stroke
Until, From Myths, We Have Awoke
And Live by Honor, Instead of A Hoax …

Holding Promise, and Hoping Prophecy
Bring The Proof Of Why We Believe

Yes, That Is Why We Believe
In All The Beauty, Our Souls Can Conceive
We Believe, We Can Achieve and Succeed
But, We Know, We Need Someone Who Will Lead !

… So, That, Is Why, We Still Try …
And Why Real Legends, Just Won’t Die …
And Make-Believe Myths, Are Exposed As Lies
When Prophecy, Pass Before Our Eyes …

… and All Will Know, Why We Believe
and Believe, As Long As We Breathe !
As Long As Hearts Beat and Bleed
… Because Our Hearts Can’t Survive … Faith-Bereaved

Oh, Why Do We Believe ? …
And All Believers and Dreamers, Say … Wait And See ! …

Note:

There Is More Factual Proof That God Is Real
Than Any Other Person Ever Lived…
That Includes: Julius Caesar, Plato, George Washington
King Henry, Cleopatra, Shakespeare and Tennyson
And Most People Believe and Agree, They Existed
But The Notion of Almighty God, Is Still Resisted
Now, In All Instances, (We Were Never There) …
… I Guess, It Just Boils Down To A Prayer …

Lost and Found

She was nine
swinging with prayers
but when nineteen
found her
she had left
the playground
far behind
only to return
with a new recruit

at twenty nine
she forgot how to pray
as she lived in delusions
that drooled on the windowsill
framing a nightmare

at thirty nine
she rediscovered
the prayer of life
that was always within

shes forty now
playing in the elements
and swinging poems off stars

Prayer to the Porcelain God

Short footed god of porcelain and white,
I ask your help to get me through the night,
I come to you again in agony and despair,
With whiskey on my breath,
And peanut shells in my hair.
My head is pounding,
The room is spinning,
The total reversal of the contents of my stomach,
Unfortunately is beginning.
I can walk no further,
 I can drink no longer,
My shear stupidity,
I sit in the floor and ponder,
I didn’t come here for self-degradation,
I had no intention to give common sense the boot,
But responsibility and moderation,
Unfortunately are not my strong suits.
I hang my head in reverence,
I assume the position,
My gift to you will soon commence,
Through your crown of my own fruition.
Save me from myself,
Save my life from going south,
Save me from witnessing,
My shoes come out of my mouth.
But, if I must give back,
All that I have taken in,
Help me make it to tomorrow,
So that I may be forgiven,
For my depravity and sin.
If you’ll just do that for me,
I swear I’ll never drink again,
It’s a real waste to go out every weekend,
And never remember any of the things I’ve done,
Or the places I’ve been.
I know that talk is few and far between,
But I don’t want the bad me to be,
All that anyone can remember being seen.
Please except my prayer to you this day,
As I pull the lever and wash this night away,
I’ll make good on my promise,
Thanks for listening to my praying,
And I won’t be back again tomorrow,
Of course, that’s what I’ve always been saying.

Afterlife Refrain

My head is placed on the chopping block
my life erased before the shepard's flock
I stand behind nothing and there is nothing ahead
I stand here deciding if it was worth the life I led

And memories are nothing but windows
lives and lullabies nothing but keys on pianos
Fade away all fade away so fast
when you're standing here facing back on the past

Before the garden outside the gate
only thing accompanying me is that fickle thing, Fate
slapping a skeletal hand on my back
he says to me, "Y'know I can't cut ya any slack"

Not that I expected any
my road was long and mistakes were many
consequences can't be lied to or ignored
Death is waving to me and calling out All Aboard

Every ticket lost to this Grim Reaper
looking back I had a love and I guess I shoulda kept her
but too late now, my seat is there to be filled
it takes more than a prayer to save those that're weak willed

Many Things

I can do a lot of things and do them well, always have.
This what I have been asked I fear I cannot do . . .
What’s more important in this is how I no longer wish to.

I can do many things and do them well, always have.
These are my feelings and they run deeply across my soul.
Woe to me I say because I know its over and drawing near.
There lies before me a future full of agony of longing unrelenting.

I can do many things and do them well, always have.
There is one thing left for me to do and I cannot.
Will I continue on I have been asked,
Continue going I’m asked and I cannot do it anymore!
I can’t keep going for much longer, if at all . . .
How long am I supposed to go without hope, without anything at all . . ?

I can do many things and do them well, always have.
This what I have been asked to do I cannot do . . .
Will you understand when I’m gone and I know you wouldn’t
For the blame you would place across your shoulders and why . ?
It’s my life, this is my life and that’s the joke . . right?
Yeah, as if this is living, as if this is even a pale reflection of life at all!!
I don’t want this life anymore, I’m sick of it . . .
No more do I pray for happiness that will never come,
Instead I pray to close my eyes and never awaken again.

I can do many things and do them well, always have.
Please God spare me from growing older, from living at all,
Please take my soul for I am done with this life without . . .
Just let me sleep forever, for there is nothing left for me . . .
Life is empty, meaningless, hollow and all faded away,
There is no colour left in my eyes anymore, ever again!
Just agony, just agony . . .
God won’t give me this prayer I know, instead
God will grant me an eternity of suffering,
For she’s never done anything to answer my prayers before.
Save fill my life with pain, suffering
And horrible oceans of misery that I drown in every waking moment of this . . .

I can do many things and do them well, always have.
I cannot live without . . . I just can’t . . . I . . .

Cold Spirit

Faithless dreams in this game
The one I want to witness my pain
Closer now, I won’t her let go
Her arms around the ghost in the snow

Silence for this angel of fear
Patience for the hate in her tears
And now a word, such comfort from me
That she is mine and I’ll set her free

Haunting all that she needs
Reminding her that everything bleeds
The rotting cores: reflections of self
The frozen lake is all she has left

Faithless dreams in this game
The ones we need to witness this pain
Closer still, I need her to know
That if I leave she will turn to stone

This ghost a prayer for someone to see
The snow is cold, and it’s all I can be
And now a word from denial’s regret
Just wrap up warm before we connect

Success Is...

Success is doing always the best you can
With everything you have at hand.
It's never forgetting who you are.
It is giving a hand to your fellow-man in need
Success is knowing the love of God.
It is putting God, family and friends first in your life,
And never from your heart let them fade.
It is sometimes going against all the odds.
It is acting composed and always having a good attitud.

Success is never giving up any of your dreams,
Though at first, that's all to you they may seem..
Success is making it every step of the way
And beyond whatever you've found.
It is always reaching out for love
Higher than the sky and a flying dove.
Success is reading everyday the Good Book,
And to let it for you shine and be your guiding light,
Through life's journey on sunny days or darkest nights.

Success is always to believe in yourself first with all your might.
Success is to conquer always fear
It is willing and learning when to share.
It is to know when and how to pray
And for others to say a prayer too.
Success is to treat others with respect
It is also about having self-respect and that's true
It is about truth for us never to abandon or neglect.

Success to me is to seek the kingdom of God first.
It is always to honor and live by His Ten Commandments
Success is to know all the time when to draw the line.
It's to have discipline and temperance with yourself.
Success is to honor at all cost what is right
It is not to let success itself go to your head.
Success is to keep at all times your feet upon the ground
It is to fight always for what you "Believe In".
Success is to be humble and not proudful.
It's to remember to be kind to all and mankind
Success is to spread goodness and joy wherever you go.

Success is to realize that after all, "Love" is the most important
And precious thing of all.
Success is to face life's challenges with boldness and heroism.
It's to give the best of yourself with a smile
It's to look forward with courage and expectation each new day.
Success is to accept gracefully the changes you need to make.
Success is all about giving and not just receiving
And it is about keeping always with dignity your head high.
It's to about maintaing your cool when all seem to lose theirs.
Success is to keep your faith alive no matter what.
Success is to let hopes for you thrive...
And let them all be your golden and living archive!
And that's what real SUCCESS, it's all to me!

Earthbound sobriety

While crossing Verrazano Narrows Bridge
recurring mem’ries of New York recapture
history and civilization of the two boroughs
provide me with deep interest and emphasis.

Brooklyn in its old Dutch for “broken land,”
and Staten Island named “Staaten Eylandt”
named in the early 1600s by Henry Hudson,
trailed off on a tangent through centuries.

A myth or perhaps a legend, the island thus far,
was like a quagmire of townships and disputes;
its meaning to immigrants’ culture and religion,
favored silence, security, peace, and integration.

The burden of too many choices based on clans,
growing businesses and stories of interactions;
new immigrants in droves through generations
like an orchestra combined with a sense of drama.

Reflections of their struggles to make ends meet,
reminded me of articulation through interpretation;
in sobriety of heeding of the composer’s intent,
such a musical piece made me suffer and sweat.

Oh, the pedal, rhythmic vitality and expression!
all these elements comprise what piano playing is,
the technique, in a special way, a benchmark item
indeed, a struggle to interiorize those conventions.

But as a human person with some limitations,
with my own history and capability in playing,
I see where I can be fit and freely express myself;
through movements in diverse missionary works.

As it says in French, “bon débarras, il est partí.”
my life continues with a backlog of other issues,
a different world focused on service to the Lord;
with my own repertory – its beauty to humanity.

It’s true that my prayer for the church at large,
is also a bridge across the gulf of separation;
coming to this borough of Staten Island
a hodge-podge of concerns, covenanted within.

Now that relationship with God and people
brings me to nourish that faith and commitment;
with that long stretch of Verrazano Narrows Bridge,
a metaphor to my own journey as a missionary.

Inside I cried

This pain, for so many years,
Left me in a state impossible to shed tears.
Inside, I cried.
Within, were strings in my heart, tightly they were tied.

You could throw me, you could beat me,
You could whip me in a circle of your greed,
I could sit, wait and bleed.
My deterioration was your elation.
It's this wretched place,
It's got me crazed one way and you in many others,
For you, your heart fluttered.
For me, my mind went to the gutter.
If I could be blessed by your death,
You'd get my blessings by my last breath.
But on this day of gloom
Inside the black roses always bloom.

You love it when I abide to what you wanted,
If I resigned like a dog I'd be hunted.
Although alone I was always treated like a dog
and alone I licked my wounds
in the distance you laughed like a fool
but I could care less
nail me to the wall with you and your tools
I'd enjoy that foolish look on your face
Hell, I'd look you in the eyes and you'd question me being out of place

You could throw me, you could beat me,
You could whip me in a circle of your greed,
I could sit, wait and bleed.
My deterioration was your elation.
As these days pass soon I will disappear without a trace
And all I could hope for is never again see your face.

All I ask if my prayer is granted
that seeing your heart stop is surely a great deal of magnificence
Let alone the thought of your absence
I'd be glad to bless my own prayer one way or another
When I strike you you'd utter a small word
a yell of plea
but let's be glad in the end we'll both be set free.

Bedside Manners

There was a brother
Who, went in guise of visiting his ailing sister
At bedside, he started a fight
He turned her only link to the world to
A wrestling match, which made her head whirl
When she did protest, he made the mistake of stating
That he would kick her behind, the fire returned too the weakened one
As with words she did spurn, “Come on big man give it a try”
He then stated that he should have let her die
She then stated that “maybe you would have let me die”
"But then again, you are not the brother that controls my time
No matter what you do, it is not up to you as to when I shall die"
The brother was force to leave in a huff
She said a prayer and lay her weary head
Having put the matter in the hands of the truer Brother~
Of Him, she knew she could always trust and depend…

If I Were God For One Day

Most people probably never even given any thought to this idea
What if you could listen to every prayer and thought?
What if you could feel what others feel?
What if there were something you could do?
Would you do something to help--would you?
What if somehow there was a way?
Ask yourself, what if I were God for one day?
What would you do?
Would you take the burdens off of your people
and put them on you?
Would you provide love to every plant, animal, man, woman, boy, and girl?
Would you provide peace to this cruel and evil world?
Would you be forgiving, merciful, trustworthy, patient, loving, and kind?
Would you provide answers to all the questions in your children's minds?
In order to save the world, would you sacrifice
Your only begotten son to die,
just to save everyone else's life?
How would you react to the people who killed Him?
Would you forgive and continue loving them?
Now think to yourself...
If there were any kind of way
What would you do if you were God for one day?

The Sufferer

An ocean supporting my death
A world unseen is stealing my breath
Command my end with all that you have
I still rise in the land of the sad

Hidden noise in solemnity’s wake
The silent prayer that darkness partakes
Behind your eyes the scene will appear
And all your words are riddled with fear

Sleepless dreams deterring the truth
Drop the sword, deny you are you
Illusion’s stain gripping your shield
And finally, your sleep is concealed

The strongest casting their stones
The quickest stealing unknown
A lonely means to glorious ends
Where nothing’s learned, and darkness commends

And deeper my sight has me drown
And in the light the darkness is found
Killing me all over again
Until I rise and walk with the pain

Other Than You-- (Part I)

Again I am at my favorite coffee shop, sipping cappichino wanting
to write about something other than you.
Wanting half-heartedly to move to a different page in my life.
Needing someone else to fill that void you have left.
When I shut my eyes, you are there.
Small things constantly remind me of you.
Like Fate whispering to me from another plane to hold on a little longer.
At night my head fills with hazy dreams of us.
As I lay alone at night staring up into the dark,
your smile flashes infront of me.
I cry and reach out for you yet wishing that you are happy in your place in life.
I swim in this oceanic thought drifting out with the tide of a reality that I wish were true:
You, in your study working on another book, typing away.
Contenence of seriousness and contemplation= logic
Muscles of your jaw tense, your eyes moving in time with written lines
as the light of the screen highlights your face.
You lean forward as if to extract something from your works.
Hesitantly you begin to type again. Read what is there,
digest the phrasing, grimice, then fiercely press the backspace key erasing
 forever that paragraph..
The frustration in these obsene lines.
I sense that you are stuck.
Leaning back in your highbacked leather chair staring at the screen.
Fingers arched in a prayer that your muse will come and bless you with a few lines.
 To complete a thought.
As they move forth and back over pursed lips...Your concentration, to save an ill-fated ship from the clutches of a diabolical empire,
is such that you do not notice me standing in the doorway.
For the moment, I prefer it that way.
I take pleasure in watching you work,
pounder the course of the universe and not realize that you are being observed.
As I did when we were in the desert.
When I was on guard duty with the 240 Bravo that you taught me how to use.
I would watch you walk away from the TOC,
hands clasped behind your back, head covered with your booney cap lowered watching the ground. Puzzlement over the actions of the day.
Still, you have yet to see me standing there watching you...........

Memories of a Child

Lying here I awaken to the old familiar dream
As if not there, just an interloper it might seem
I watch a life I no longer recognize yet it seems so real
I envision innocence of the child I see begin to kneel
Whispering a prayer from lips trembling with humility
Love emanates from faith filled words of her reality
Help me father to understand I do not know what I have done
Mommy is so angry I want so badly just to run
I do not want to anger her so please let me see why
I will do all I can to help but please don't let me cry
I need to be a good girl so she will not hate me you see
I want to make mommy happy then maybe she'll love me
Years have gone and still this dream comes back once again
I know now it wasn't me but I didn't know that then
Fear grips me still if anger is about to rear its ugly head
No child deserves to live life with that awful sense of dread
Help is there for every one that wants it to be
I know as I was that little girl praying God would protect me.

Like water (Atlas meets Neptune)

Squatting down in the shower
While drops of fire pour down like rain
Cleansing, drenching, draining power
Massaging veins, expunging pain
Isolated from chaos and stress
Deafening roar, thundering, silent
Time to repent, time to confess
Hiding tears in this confinement
My head forced into bowed position
Piling, suppressing, holding, ensnared
Tired words uttered, mumbled repetition
Singing for joy and much needed prayer
It’s all too much, my back starts to ache
The burden is getting too heavy
Roll from my back, the world awaits
Rise up having paid the duck’s levy

Epiphany's Flight

Sky spreading thick like octopus ink
Clouds crackled lit like tentacles pink
The moon on the way to her brilliant parade
with stars for the train of her gown
Flying with eyes out the glass of the world
Ground speeds beneath me, incredible blur
Tree tops dissolve in the cover of night
The plane holds the vacuum of sound
Up, up, above I am privileged, awake
while I hold up the earth with each breath that I take
The sky is my ocean, the clouds are my dreams
which for once, I hold the key to, it seems...
Ping of technology, tin captain's voice
pads all the passengers thick with white noise
But I press my nose to the portal expanse
as the body I'm in slowly leans...
Sky calming me to the point of decision
Lips like a silent prayer said with precision
Just as the earth brings me up close again
with it's gravity pulling me down
I'll snap shot this ocean, this fluid emotion
This once in a lifetime trip of devotion
I'll settle my differences with moon, star and man
before my enlightened feet bold touch the ground...

On Bended Knees

Though my transgressions are many,
though my virtues are few,
though at times I’d forgotten You,
You did not give up on me.

On bended knees to You I pray,
on bended knees your name I say,
bless this soul that come to Thee,
teach me, Lord, your way.

In this life of pain and sorrow,
hope is so hard to find.
I know You’re there watching over me,
shaping my life night and day.

You have been so kind to me, Lord,
You’ve been a friend all along,
many a time I had doubted You,
now at last I see the light.

Let me give back what I have taken,
let me atone for my sins,
hear this prayer that I pray to Thee,
I’ll praise your name till the end.

Into My Own

Keep me away far from this harsh city life,
Away from non-stop noise and all the strife;
Lights from dazzling neons make me dizzy,
Enough of this rat race, I’m sick of this reality!

Into my own I retreat, into myself I will escape,
Doldrums and urban worries I cannot keep;
Onto the farm amongst the sky and the trees
So in silent prayer I'll drop down on my knees.

Come with me, my beloved, let me take you
Out of the blaring sounds of pulsating disco;
Pastoral life awaits us there in the country,
Ethereal beauty is all that we will ever see.

Can eye Christian?

Can eye Christian?
Can a man live and grow and eat and sleep can he even love? eye am reminded
of a MOSES growing up in the desert after Egypt he was skilled the BIBLE says in
all the arts of LOVE? He got a wife one day at well and sent the other people
packing with his STICK. Eye am sure they loved and lived. In the old same
fashion of the world.
In the tent and out in the desert some making love a man and woman after all is
said and done. Can a man have love even a man a gentile dog not overly
concerned with fate just living and hoping for the future of iff and ever someday.
To have my violette flower to live and love again.
They ate meat and a Passover meal and loved and kissed as many people do.
Please let it happen for the mee and especially the ewe.
The only thing that made MOSES a Christian was his name.
King David was the same. This would be my prayer to you today?
Can eye Christian?

Dawn of Reflection

Reading into silence again
Dreaming I saw what became
The posture of a faded abuse
The smile of escaping the truth

Watching every movement again
Awareness leaving proof of my game
The mirror of a breeding dispute
The reflection I despised and refused

Turning every corner again
Looking for a window of shame
The door to an innocent sky
The ladder of my innocence hides

Running into silence again
Dreaming all that grew in my name
The heart of a world that despised
The anger overtook and we died

Floating through another again
Words that she spoke were in vain
The prayer of a weary dispute
The reflection has now turned and refused

Impuissance of heart

Daylight began as any other
With the blankets over his head and smothered
With effort and struggle
He began his day
With the usual juggles
As he mirrored himself
To shave and groom
Trying so hard to remove the gloom
That presides over his head
So permanent and dread
The thoughts he thinks
There are piles of wood
Outside by the old sink
That waits
To be cut
He would if he could get out of this rut
He feels dejected
And beaten down
Still wishing on a prayer
If it would come around
But what this man doesn’t
Understand
God’s given him will
Now he needs a
Plan

LOVE'S REMORSE

Staid by sweet suggestion
and guileless of mounting truth,
this fellow suffering ~ remorse
is played upon ~ uncouth!

The goading fills my pastime
no more the anvil's muse,
but lawless, hastened by-line
indoctrinating lose!

My stand is only wait ~ Thine
Oh cherished friend removed,
what keeps thy prison recline,
what keeps my prayer from proved!

Oh action, I am inclined
to fade ~ helpless, aloof,
while victimizing bends stine,
and drinks my scant reprove!

The cruel heart ~ the grapevine
of melancholy's move
has decimated true pine
of love in newness groove!

My GOD

The way I came to you was difficult.
I was searching for years,
which seemed like lifetimes.
I received revelations and
brief moments of Clarity
(I had epiphanies so powerful that I
felt overwhelmed
Felt godlike myself
Ego took hold
subverted good intentions
into human power struggles
Self-love, and unhealthy pride
I was locked-up in chains
Searching in vein for a sharp tool...

I used to beg desperately for help
But you responded in riddles
Forcing me to think about what I was unable to
(I am so far beneath your Majesty)...

I gave up control,
(which was a powerful illusion)
Released
my Regrets
through your son Jesus Christ, and
sincerely asked your forgiveness
for injustices I inflicted upon others
and myself

Acknowledging you as
All-knowing,
All-powerful

I began to pray...
Asking for guidance everyday
Strength to overcome difficulties
Power to control myself
Inspiration to feed creativity
Trust to love freely
Humility to accept what I cannot change
Patience to wait for answers & Redemption
Compassion for the sufferings of others

So many Requests...
But you are
Eternally Patient

Finally,
a sense of peace began to awaken in me, through prayer and effort and your guidance
I became whole.

You Created
Mysteries
far beyond my comprehension
I can only ponder your
All-encompassing Wisdom

Vast...
You are everywhere
and everything and
everyone all at once

Now...
I feel deep in my Soul

your
Power
Grace and
Love

No words can describe my
Awe and
Love for you
God

Beyond
any name
or symbol
or style
Your Majesty can
never be Defined

Humbly
I Thank You

But For Your Grace

But for your grace I would not be here
down on my knees in fervent prayer -
I’m talking to You for I am lost.

While the wicked one starts out fast,
the good man always finishes last -
Lord, I just do not understand.

To folks on the hill You showered wealth
but out in the slums there is only death -
I’m confused and I do not comprehend.

The lucky few cannot sate their greed
as the throng cry in their direst need -
please tell me, oh Lord, why this is so.

Somewhere a poor child dies from hunger
while the emperor wields so much power -
You have abandoned your own people.

You know I am trying my best to be good
but You leave me alone to bear my load -
what have I done to displease You, Lord?

Down deep in the darkest pit of my soul
is your humble servant’s pleading call -
make me understand, help me stand.

But for your grace I would not be here
down on my knees in fervent prayer -
I’m talking to You for I am lost.
