For Mama

She showed me the clouds
and how to walk on the ninth one. A dreamer.
In the absoluteness of her mind, no barriers
exist within existence
as if her battles have
been won. I think she craves to fly,
past those clouds---another possibility
to make possible, a challenge
to challenge. Or dream about.
She probably thinks that when I complain
I cannot see the clouds,
the way she did when things got rough
in life. Of course, I beg to differ.
She dreams. I live. I don't
keep my eyes on clouds all day
as if there is nothing else to see
to make me understand the world better.
I suppose I'll rest one day, exhausted
by the what-ifs and whys, while Mama smiles
and points upward.

SISTER WARRIOR

Why me dear God in heaven's
Name why me?
Awaiting for a divine answers reply.
Kneeling at the lords sacred altar,
Lit candles flickering all about her
A bowed head in reverences honor.
In prayers hands tenderly cradling her,
Rosary.
She has been blessed by an angel's,
Healing touch.
Realizes not a mightier power stands,
Before her, shielding his lamb from,
 Harms way.
Faith guides this believers soul,
Homeward unto grace.
She is truly not alone in this fight,
Rekindle a divine spark within,
Rage against the fading light,
And behold of a new dawning.
Humanities loving spirit everlasting,
Its our greatest weapon.
And many hands rest upon,
It's hilt.
Behold the sword of hope
With it's sharpened edge.
And millions lend their strength
Of will behind it's wielding power.
We are here my friend, my sister,
Always.
Let this evil shadow pass, give it
No binding power.
Shake off fears disbelief, know,
Sister warrior on this battle field,
Women must fight together.
 United standing strong,
Fixed on one single goal survival.
A pink ribbon may represent
The cause,
But within life's circle the
Human touch comforts a
Spiritual soul.
With faith's devotion as her
Guardian’s shield it will carry such
 A brave lady,
Through hells fire and beyond.
Remember your not alone
Against our common enemy
Named Cancer.
One day we will find a cure.

A woman's heart

my father always told me
"son don't go breaking no hearts
if you cant take her to the finish line
then don't go making any false starts

don't take a woman hearts for granted
treat her with kindness and respect
make her feel special and wanted
never make her cry and feel neglect

for god created woman as a gift
for man to honor ,cherish and love
they are our heaven on earth
our beautiful angel from above

the magical wonders of a woman
has no limits or boundaries to retrieve
with a good woman besides you
"son "there's nothing that you cant achieve

the words my father has spoken
it has never left my ears
and his wisdom and understanding
I carry with me through out the years

one day i will find a good woman
and i will ask her to be my wife
and i shall treat her like a princess
love and cherish her for the rest of her life

the woman who gets my heart
will own it from now and forever
and i will fill her life with happiness
every second that we spend together

and i will take her to Trinidad and Tobago
Trinidad is the country where i was born
and will introduce her to all the tasty dishes
and see the sunrise at the break of dawn

and we will take walks on the beach
holding hands under the moonlight
and if the sea breeze makes her cold
i will hold her in my arms all night

yes the woman that i will love
will be the queen of all queens
the diamond of all diamonds
the wish of my every dreams

until i meet this beautiful woman
who will be the one to share my life
i will continue to write my poems
knowing one day my angel will arrive

and will cover me with her love
like the sun over the the seven seas
as my father looks down from heaven
proud of the man that i have come to be

A poem for YOU

In this world of Uncertainties I’m the man that you can trust And in my words of sincerity That my love would never last. And if you could only feel, what i feel for you You can ask me “why?” so you can see the truth Like our love that tightens the rope, Like a light that would give us hope. As you watch the dark skies Let me grab the moon for you, And as I catch the bright stars That’s the way you can see me through As this planet turns as it always will And things go wrong and you don’t know what to feel Hold my hand for it will make us strong Like a wind, we will carry on The wind blow that sings a hymn for you For they know what does love means for the two Love is blind, and not deaf So how’s success if you’re not ready to bet? In this poem with full of rhymes, A full of love, Babe can you be mine? I don’t expect too much from you Why should I? If you complete my whole. “Till death do us part” that’s what they have said But why do struggles crash them ahead? Don’t ask me when my love will last, To count all of our quarrels, is that a must? Now and Forever is all that I promise No day dreaming and without reminiscence As the matter of time, as the time passes by Together we stand, together you and I
A poem for my Girlfriend for our anniversary :) pls comment and rate... you are free to judge and criticize my work :) God Bless

Pledge of love and loyalty

This pledge that l,Ntando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed l am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only lie
in word alone but in action as well.

For that reason in every season
I shall show steadfast commitment
to the implementation of this pledge
with a great deal of astuteness.
I therefore commit myself to be your
devoted and delivering husband for
all the years l shall live with you
on this earth.

I shall treat you with the love and care
you deserve as my wife.
Indeed l shall treat you with
the distinction and dignity
that is befitting of the queen of my heart.
That body, that bone, that breath
shall be my mine to treasure,
for sure;
a dearness to promote and protect
for dear life…and love!
I shall stand by and with you in all the
situations of our life.
If the situation demands that we sail,
sail we shall together.
If the situation demands that we
climb,
climb we shall together.

I know very well what l am getting into:
I am getting into a marriage that is
overflowing with blessings.
This marriage- with our mutual
commitment-
will stand the test of time.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
brims over with a transforming power
of love.

This marriage-with our
mutual commitment –
will transform naivety into maturity
troubles into challenges
pretence into practice
pride into progress
bachelorship into companionship.
I pledge to be your steward and partner
for all times.

I shall value the consultations
and decisions that we make as
husband and wife.
As head of the family I shall do nothing

to derail our love train for anything else
least of all for personal and selfish reasons.
Now and forever

I am your lawful and loving husband…
This pledge that l, Nothando, make today serves
as my guideline that I shall follow
happily, ungrudgingly and tirelessly
for the sake of our love life.
Indeed I am well aware of the fact that
the beauty of this pledge does not only
lie in pronouncements but in practice
as well.

For this reason every season
I shall demonstrate untiring love
and loyalty to you;
a love and a loyalty that is a living
embodiment of our marriage vows.
I therefore commit myself to be your
honouring, supportive and loving wife
for all the years l shall live with you.
I shall treat you with the love and care
that you deserve as my husband.
Indeed I shall treat you with
the dignity and nobility that is befitting
of the king of my heart.
On my mind it is always fresh
that I am the flesh of your flesh.
Green or grown

I am the bone of your bone.
I know very well what I am getting into:
I am getting into a relationship that
elevates me into a kingdom of wifehood.
I shall endevour to put my family first
with all the rights, obligations
and privileges that come with wifehood.
I shall endevour to wipe off and ward off
loneliness and lostness from our relationship,
seeking nothing but your companionship;
banking on your stewardship,
sinking together any hardship.
Since you are mine
I shall not do anything else to undermine
our relationship for personal
or egotistical
reasons.
Now and forever
I am your lawful and loving wife…

WOMEN OF EXTINCTION

We were more popular
When you felt lazy,
More important when
We cooked you potatoes and gravy...

To please our boys and men
We would go to any length,
Even begged for mercy
Were pillars of strength...

We are the glue to glass houses
Being abused by the hour by the day,
Even ignored or unheard of by many
But we will continue to love come what may...

Negatively spoken of around the world
And frequently pacified by our nation,
But the torch GOD placed in our hearts
Is not a symbol of accusation more of edification...

Tear us down kick us to the ground
But we will always strive for equality,
We are free women accepting nothing less
Our guardian angels fill us with spirituality...

We are women born to cease dissention
We are women not women of extinction

She Whispered

Take me
Take me within your soul
Devour me with your words
Love me with your poetic desires

You speak of times long ago
You speak of passions long since gone
You walk on roses, and bleed your love
You caress me with your tears

High in the mountains, you have no fear
All the warriors are down below
The battle is love, other men not the foe
Kiss me now, be done with your fears

I am the meadow of your earthly desires
Paint me, write of me, I am yours
Kiss the dreams you once had long ago
Angels of the past will see you through

Heaven is not an eternal place
Is a love that burns eternal
Seek not the paradise of heaven
I am here, you are now

Devour me

raised from the dead

three women with points on their licenses to the tomb of Jesus they ventured
as they had a love for our Savior that was totally uncensored
they were told that the Roman soldiers over His tomb were standing guard
but they had a need to consecrate His body that compelled them to do their part
it was risky and unreasonable in the minds of most
but man's reasoning has no value when it comes to our Heavenly Host
to do the impossible that is what they desired
and with the power of the Holy Spirit they were then inspired
to walk by faith and not by sight guided by God's spiritual light

and when those women got to the tomb they then discovered
that the sepulcher of Jesus was now uncovered
no Roman soldiers were in sight
just an Angel of God wearing raiment snow white
"fear not" the Angel said, for the prophecy has been fulfilled
the Messiah Jesus has risen from the dead for it is God's will
the mighty stone had been rolled away
it was a bold godly display

do you know that God will roll away any stone that impedes your life?
as He rolled away the stone at the tomb of His beloved Son Jesus the Christ
to be raised from the death of corruption and sin
restored, renewed, revived and born again
raised up from societal barriers of destruction
now a new creation in Christ's gospel production
the Lord desires that we live abundantly
and to walk with the power of His authority
so never forget the sacrifice and the blood that was shed
when Jesus the Christ by the hand of God was raised from the dead

A Woman's Worth

A Woman’s Worth
By Nate Spears

Her purpose in this world is hurting
She’s never been a designed of perfect
But she is a mom, so she’s super
She works
She cleans
Then roll up her sleeves ; and
Take care of the kids; and
The house
Making it a home
For a beautiful family to roam
Building wonderful memories
Becoming a woman of worth
Keeping her faith through Christ
Keeping her pace through health
Keeping her sanity through managing
This is a woman’s worth
I’m giving you

Despite of all the stress
She receives her family with open arms
Through all the mess
She’s a fantastic mom
A wonderful woman
Deserving a round of applause
Plus a standing ovation
For always being an American sensation
That held this continent down since day one
Since the Plymouth Rock landed on us
Thank you for her giving
Thank you for her living
Thank you for her children
This is ,
A woman’s worth.

A Story My Mother Told Me

someone always told me this with tears in her eyes...

(for Lata Sethi's late-mother, who was my mother’s ‘sister’ and who took us all into her heart, and for Lata and Ravi Sethi of Defence Colony, New Delhi)

a wife left South Africa in the 1960’s to join her husband
who was in exile at the time...

in 1970 the husband was sent by the African National Congress to India to be its representative there...

the husband and wife spent two years in Bombay...

one afternoon the husband fell and broke his leg...

the wife knocked on their neighbour’s door, in an apartment complex in Bombay

the neighbour was an old Punjabi lady...

the wife asked the neighbour for a doctor to see to the injured husband...

a Parsi ‘Bone-Setter’ was promptly summoned...

the husband still recalls his anxiety of seeing ‘Bone-Setter’ written on the Parsi gentleman’s bag...

by the way, the ‘Bone-Setter’ worked his ancient craft and surprisingly for the husband, his broken leg healed quite soon...

but still on that day, while the ‘Bone-Setter’ was seeing to the husband...

the wife and the old Punjabi lady from next door got to talking about this and that and where these new Indian-looking wife and husband were from as their accents were clearly not local...

the wife told the elderly Punjabi lady that the husband worked for the African National Congress of South Africa and had left to serve the ANC from exile...

and that they had left their two children behind in South Africa and that they were now essentially political refugees...

the Punjabi lady broke down and wept uncontrollably...

she told the foreign woman that she too had had to leave her home in Lahore in 1947 and flee to India with only the clothes on her back when the partition of the subcontinent took place and Pakistan was formed and at a time when Hindus from Pakistan fled to India and vice versa...

the Punjabi lady then asked the foreign woman her name...

‘Zubeida’, but you can call me ‘Zubie’...

the Punjabi woman hugged Zubie some more, and the two women, seperated by age and geography, wept, sharing a shared pain...

the Punjabi woman told Zubie that she was her ‘sister’ from that day on, and that she felt that pain of exile and forced migration and what being a refugee felt like...

Zubie and her husband Mosie became the closest of friends with the Hindu Punjabi neighbours who were kicked out of Pakistan by Muslims...

then came the time for Mosie and Zubie to leave for Delhi where the African National Congress office was based...

the elderly Punjabi lady and Mosie and Zubie said their goodbyes...

a year or two later, the elderly Punjabi lady’s daughter Lata married Ravi Sethi and the couple moved to Delhi...

the elderly Punjabi lady called Zubie and told her that her daughter was coming to Delhi to live and that she had told Lata, her daughter that she had a ‘sister’ in Delhi...

Lata and Ravi Sethi then moved to Delhi...

This was in the mid-1970’s...

Lata and Zubie became the closest of friends and that bond stayed true, and stays true till today, though Zubie is no more, and the elderly Punjabi lady is no more...

the son and the husband still have a bond with Lata and Ravi Sethi...

a bond that was forged between Hindu and Muslim and between two continents across the barriers of creed and time...

a bond strong and resilient, forged by the pain and trauma of a shared experience...

and that is why, and I shall never stop believing this, that hope shines still, for with all the talk of this and of that, and of that and of this, there will always be a simple woman, somewhere, anywhere, who would take the ‘other’ in as a sister, a fellow human...

and that is why there will always be hope...
hope in the midst of this and of that and of that and of this...

hope...

(for Lata Sethi's late-mother, who was my mother’s ‘sister’ and who took us all into her heart, and for Lata and Ravi Sethi of Defence Colony, New Delhi)

Hostile Times II

Hostile Times II
By Nate Spears

Busted love is my Crystal Ball's fortune
My heart hurts in a torturing way
Nothing ever works in my favor
Standing still
I lower my head and pray
Confessing to God
All I have to give

A 16 year old rebellious daughter
A 13 year old son that’s dead
My father is in prison; so is the one of my two kids
Is this really a way of living?
I didn’t have a choice from the days beginning
Anything different
Would have a given me a chance
at living

Walls of barriers bearing on us
On this earth we stand
Refusing to let go of this curse
If no bill is signed by Congress
My unemployment runs out next Thursday
Now I contemplate what’s next?
Sex dollars or Creflo's Dollars?
Be an honest woman; or
Be a fool that’s starving?
When pushed to the limit
All governors are discarded.

Hostile Times rains upon us
Other nations joins the honors
The Elite makes me vomit
There’s plenty of resources among us
God have mercy and let it trickle down on us
Rather than become degrading
In this pew
I choose prayer
Becoming Sunday Mornings best
Washing away my pains that become abreast; with my chest
Bringing in a new day,
A today,
For a better way
In these hostile times we live in.

Wonderful Women

Mary was a virgin girl:
With big dreams and aspirations!
An angel came to visit her:
With honor and salutations!
Troubled by his sayings:
She did not know what to think!
The angel said to Mary:
My dear, no need to shrink!

Mary you are favored,
Blessed among all women!
Ye shall bring forth a child:
A Son whom God is given!
You shall call his name JESUS!
To his kingdom there’s no end!
He will reign forever:
And from heaven he will descend!

Mary said to the angel,
How shall this come to be?
I have not known a man,
And with that he did agree!
With God’s nothing impossible,
So Mary did reply:
Behold I am God’s servant,
And his will I won’t deny!

To be so compliant;
Is just amazing in itself!
The disgrace of an unwed mother:
Could knock Mary off the shelf!
Her fiancé’ may leave her;
And her family may disown!
But Mary did not worry:
About who may cast a stone!

Seeing that she was chosen:
One might think her life was smooth.
But oh’ the lovely Mary:
Needed God to gently soothe!
From the birth of our Lord Jesus:
To the time he was crucified:
Her journey was very bumpy:
And many tears she softly cried!

Starting with a quest:
From Nazareth to Bethlehem!
A summons to pay taxes,
They set out, both of them! (Joseph and Mary)
Now Mary was great with child,
And her time would soon arrive.
With no place to deliver,
They would both have to contrive!

In a barn full of animals,
Hay, dung and fears!
Mary will now give birth,
In blood, sweat and tears!
Meanwhile, in a pasture,
Where some shepherds work a field!
Angel’s came a calling,
And our Savior is revealed!

Glory to God in the highest:
Angel’s sang, when baby breathed:
On earth, is peace, goodwill towards men!
The shepherds now perceived!
The angel’s ascend to heaven,
Yonder the shepherds go:
In her heart Mary pondered:
Of the things which God did show!

Just try to imagine:
Laying your baby in a trough?
And then fearing for his life,
While the king prowls and scoffs!
Well that is just what Mary did:
In that time and place:
When they had to run:
For baby Jesus, King Herod chased!

A king to rule over him:
He would not accept!
He killed every baby child:
As their mother’s wept!
I just cannot fathom:
What Mary must have felt.
Joy for her baby:
Yet, with grief she must have dealt!

Traveling home from Jerusalem:
After feast and celebration!
Mary lost her precious boy:
She could not find his location!
When he was discovered,
Frantic she did ask:
Son why did you leave us?
In sorrow we did bask

Every mother has known:
The fear of losing a child!
Mary was no different:
For three days her fear compiled!
I am sure there was weeping:
Praying with despair!
While Joseph tried to calm her:
With love and tender care!

She couldn’t apprehend:
What his life would turn out to be.
But, Mary as his mother:
Felt free to go and see!
She followed with his brothers:
And listen to him speak!
He spoke about family:
His family, he did critique!

Sisters and brothers:
And mothers we also see!
Are not bound together:
By a family tree!
From our Father in heaven;
Families are made!
Now, did Mary understand?
The price she had paid!

Mary’s little boy,
Was no longer her own!
He belongs to the people:
And as kin he is known!
Gripping at her heart strings:
Affliction had to arise:
As a mother of a son,
That might feel like my demise!

News of his capture:
Must have brought a scare!
How did Mary deal?
Did she run straight there?
When Jesus was beaten:
Did she watch all alone?
How did she refrain?
As he was whipped to the bone!

A crown of thorns:
They pressed upon his head!
He was dripping in blood:
His flesh was bright red!
Nails were deeply driven:
Through his hands and feet!
Crying out he said:
My God, why so discrete?

She stood by the cross:
And watch her baby die!
She pondered in her heart:
For the reason why!
Is it worth it?
Did Mary dare to ask?
For the love of God:
She must complete her task!

Yet, it pleased the Father:
For him to suffer!
To give his life:
For another!
To shed his blood:
Would only prove our WONDER!
JESUS gave it all:
Our sins to cover!

As my heart is wrenching:
I can’t help but wonder!
Did Mary even hear?
Those sounds of thunder!
The earth was shaking:
The rocks did rent!
The veil was torn:
And Mercy was sent!

With a broken heart:
Tear filled eyes!
Could Mary see?
Where his love lies!
Her baby boy:
Who brought some travail!
In the end:
Did definitely prevail!

Mary was chosen:
And highly favored!
And for our God,
 She willingly labored!
She had troubles:
Plus sorrow and grief:
Yet, she pondered God’s word:
This fought off the thief!

The wonder of this woman:
Is most definitely overt!
And your wonder is also:
So please let me assert!
Jesus arose:
Three short days later!
Redemption came:
And so did your favor!

God loves his creation:
A plan he has made!
He is not partial:
Nor, will he invade!
He leaves it to us:
To trust in his name:
So just like Mary:
Let his will take aim!

Now, ponder his word:
For it is real clear!
In Jesus we’re blessed:
Favored and dear!
We also have purpose:
Just like the Virgin Mary!
It is to share Jesus:
WONDERFUL WOMEN; don’t tarry!

No one can go to the Father:
Except through the Son!
And God uses his children:
To get the job done:
So if you refuse,
To share his love!
The world won’t know:
This Rock from above!

He is personal:
Yet, he is for all!
Proclaim his love:
It’s your curtain call!
Go into all the world:
And share his good news!
Mary’s child has risen:
It’s your turn to choose!

Antigone

I am the face of misery
My life, a dissonance of autumn and spring,
The years are written in the same
Lugubrious, nostalgic grey
How can it be the author to blame?
I cannot scream this all away…
Burn nor Bleed this all away…
To Death I am Ordained

Lacuna ever growing
With Velvet sheets of life flowing
Aeons apart of my "royalty"
Under the mask the cannot see...
Can you dispel this tragedy:
Antigone - Epiphany failing

If it must be…
Then just kill me,
(Antigone) sing me out of reality;
I wear this dissonant crown of shame
(Antigone) Of a kingdom's disdain
I hate to be this way... normalcy's bane
(Antigone) Here comes the edict, to blame
The sordid child of Thebes,
This is me,
Antigone

No words of hope
No words of hate
Do I have Lenore to send to me:
The sordid child of Thebes
Caught In the longest nightmare
life - the slowest way to die

I know this is my life
But I'm not under control
under the mask the will see
Just Another Human

If it must be…
Then just kill me,
(Antigone) sing me out of reality;
I wear this dissonant crown of shame
(Antigone) Of a kingdom's disdain
I hate to be this way... normalcy's bane
(Antigone) Here comes the edict, to blame
The sordid child of Thebes,
This is me,
Antigone

If it must be…
Then just kill me,
(Antigone) sing me out of reality;
I wear this dissonant crown of shame
(Antigone) Of a kingdom's disdain
I hate to be this way... normalcy's bane
(Antigone) Here comes the edict, to blame
The sordid child of Thebes,
This is me,
Antigone

Can you dispel my life; this tragedy?
Can you control the storm in my mind?
I'm asking you: can you rid me
Of The Curse of Antigone?

give what you can

we live in a star struck society being a celebrity is now the game
we seem to cheer louder for professional athletes and people with well known names
we also have a desire to be just like them if we could choose
and many feel that being a celebrity is the key to the fountain of youth

but what people fail to see or even comprehend
is that celebrities are nothing more than mere women and men
and that there is no special powers that a famous person obtains
just because everybody knows your face and your name

and when it come to Jesus He doesn't care about your status nor place
He will welcome you in the spirit of love, mercy and grace
He will sit at the table with you and share a simple meal
some bread and wine in the spirit of communion and an acceptance so real

God does not care if you're a celebrity or a superstar
if that were the case the Bible would not mention the women with the alabaster jar
she was not a woman of status, wealth nor celebrity
but she gave what she could to acknowledge Jesus' godly authority
yet those men in the room rebuked her for her generous act
until Jesus stood up for her in the midst of their verbal attack
He told them "leave her alone, as for Me she has done a good thing"
she gave Me her best, she anointed Me with fine oil as her true King

what people can't understand nor comprehend
is that by doing things in Jesus' name blessings God will send
she broke open that alabaster jar she opened her soul to Christ
she gave what she could she gave the best that she had in life

give what you can that is all that Lord God desires
for you to give from the heart and with true faith to be inspired
to understand that being famous is not such a big to-do
but to be recognized by God and know that He loves you

my dream has become my goal - my goal has become my dream

I have traveled down so many roads
In the dreams that were untold.
Dreams take us to places we’ve
Never been before.
Opening up our minds
And opening different doors.

Dreams of hope, dreams of love
Sent from up above.
Dreams that set your heart fluttering
Like the wings of a bird
Seen but hardly heard.

Dreams of goals that we set
But haven’t gotten to yet.
But my dream is not a simple one
I want to change the bad s that were done.
To abolish human trafficking and child abuse
Although it seems like it’s no use.

The almighty dollar is the bottom line
And has been with us since the beginning of time.
Traffickers make millions- something we will never see.
But at least we know that we are living free.

Then there are the abusers
both men and women alike
Who take advantage of the weak
Because they can not fight.

Child abusers, women abusers
They are all the same
They put blame on society
And yet they have no shame.

You know you have a problem
So medical help you should seek
This form of aggression has
reached its boiling peak.

To some this is the norm for what
They have gone through
But taking it out on others
Is not what you should do.

To stop all of this is my dream.
I will spread the word to all
Who love to read
We must tell everyone
We must plant the seed.

Let us change the laws to help
All the abused and the oppressed.

Abusers and traffickers are not concerned
About going to hell.
Just look at their smirk and you can tell.

Emotionless,and a sorry Excuse

Can Things ever last,
When they happen so fast.
do these tears and pain ever fade,
Is Drama yet another day,
That I must play to waste the day away,
and ignore the pain,
 that never seems to fade.
I know that game,
I played it so many times,
Emotionless is what i shall be,
 for all times and eternity.
Galeea's training proved right,
All little boys play the game of deception,
But they do not realize that some girls see it before them,
Some girls grow up to be woman and are looking for guys,
Who want to be man enough to take any
Drama and pitiful lies that other little girls spread around to see,
if they can steal that one great guy in their life.
Pity is what it is called when a Man falls into that pit of vipers,
Why can i not be like those vipers?
because I am too smart and not so vain as the
others girls i see around me.
Because i am me and i just want to be me
and that is what i would like to see,
 For that is reality.

A DIVINE HOOK-UP: Loyalty, Love and Devotion When Women Worship God

Naomi and her family departed from Bethleham Judah the land of milk and honey
in the midst of a famine as they were unable to earn any money
so on to the region of Moab they ventured and prospered to some degree
until Naomi lost her husband and both sons and was left alone to grieve
to her daughters-in-law she told them both to their families they should go back
but one daughter-in-law Ruth refused to let their relationship come under attack
she told Naomi I will never leave you nor forsake you
I will stay by your side no matter what we have to go through
your people will be my people, your God will be my God
and wherever you choose to travel you and I will never part
with loyalty, love and devotion Ruth needed Naomi in her life
in order for her to develop a relationship with our Lord Christ
now worshipping God together placing their fate in His hands
for this was a divine hook-up that the Lord our God had planned

Now Naomi needed Ruth too but was to afraid to admit it
as she felt she had been forsaken by the presence of the Holy Spirit
but God was in the midst of that relationship from the very start
He had destined that Ruth and Naomi would never, ever part
for when women worship God great relationships are made in life
with loyalty, love and devotion in the name of Jesus the Christ

In the course of your life there will be people whom you need and require
to help you to be all that you can be in the way that God desires
the clarifiers in your life will help you to see what is your mission
the collaborators in your life will encourage you to come to a decision
the confronters in your life will nag you and stay in your face
while the comforters in your life if they're of God will help you find your place
then the celebrators in your life will help you to rejoice in your victory
with the spirit of love, devotion and a godly loyalty

Now Ruth went on to get remarried but kept Naomi as a member of her household
for their relationship was a divine hook-up that was under God's control
for when women worship God great relationships last an eternity
Naomi and Ruth a divine hook-up of love, devotion and loyalty

Female Companion

                                                     She is so typical
                                                           So critical
                                                   For most part difficult

I never really could grasp her in such way
She just wants me to some how stay
She comes to my man cave and makes me obey

Shy she was and now I am scared
In such way I almost cared
She thinks she can do everything for me I swear

She makes me guess everyday but I keep on believing
Because it is fun to give her a kiss, while she does not know when she is sleeping
She stresses out but I will tell her my love for her keeps deepening

So for the most part I just keep her close to make her smile and me
When I do things I do it for her it is always a key
Call me romantic or call me stupefied, but it makes her so, so, sooo, happy

The Nameless - for South Africans of all colours who fought for freedom

The Nameless

Slipping through the sieve of history,

the nameless rest.

Not for the nameless are roads renamed, nor monuments built.

Not for the nameless are songs sung, nor ink spilled.

The nameless rest.

Their silent sacrifice,

quiet ordeal,

muted trauma,

remain interred,

amongst their remains.

The nameless rest.

Not for the nameless are doctorates conferred, nor eulogies recited.

Not for the nameless are honours bestowed, nor homages directed.

The nameless rest.

They rest within us,

they walk with us,

in every step that we tread.

They rest within us,

they walk with us,

for their spirit is not dead.

“Your name is unknown, your deed is immortal”
- inscription at The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier WWII in Moscow

Special thanks to my dearest elder sister Tasneem Nobandla Moolla, whose conversations with me about life as a non-white person growing up in pre and post-Apartheid South Africa prompted me to write this dedication to the countless, nameless South Africans of every colour, whose sacrifices and dedication in the struggle against Apartheid tyranny must never be forgotten.

My sister’s middle name ‘Nobandla’ which is an isiXhosa name and means “she who is of the people” was given by her godfather, Nelson Mandela, my father’s ‘best-man who could not be, as Nelson Mandela was unable to-make it to my parent’s wedding as he was in jail at the time in the old Johannesburg Fort. This was the 31st December 1961.

I'm a Muslim I'm not a Terrorist

I am a Muslim, I’m not a “terrorist”.
How can I be a terrorist
when I’m against all kinds of injustice.

I’m against every act of sin and evil.
I hate all kinds of crime and even loathe
what Adolf did to the innocent Jewish people.

I hate what God hates; He (Allah) hates oppression.
I’m against stealing, against taking away
people’s loved ones and belongings for no reason.

I’m against suicide bombings,
against racism, against ignorance,
against self-harm and even derision.

What God hates I hate and God (Allah) hates
oppression. I hate it too when people fight
for foolish nationalistic reasons.

I’m a Muslim; I follow the true religion
of mercy from Allah the Most Merciful
Who simply wants us to answer His Call
to believe in Just One -Just One God of all.

So don’t call me a “terrorist” when I clearly
don’t have a ‘mass destruction’ weapon
and my goal in life is to
be with our God (Allah) in Heaven.

Your love pricks me like a rose each thorn grows but no one knows Your so full of
it as it shows so carry on now go on, go. I'm fed up with the phony and i'm
through with the tears, you couldn't pay me all your money to make up for those
years. Someone help me I feel faint how could I think he was such a saint and
worst of all I let me fall into a spiral down below. A magic called love carried
by the dove of someone I use to know.

Beyond the Frontier

Where am I? Why is it dark?
This isn’t what I had in mind when I left the park…
Why isn’t the wind whispering…the songbirds singing?
All I remember is a telephone ringing…
A scream and a crash and a pain in my side…
Is this what happens after one’s died?
I don’t feel like myself, I feel wild and free,
Yet I’m cold and alone, 'stead of filled with glee.

My whole life I’ve studied, and pondered, and prayed,
Trying to fathom what would happen this day
But now that it’s here, I’m beginning to fear
Maybe the afterlife’s not what it appears…
It’s certainly not what I’ve been told by my preacher
Or my parents or brother or best friend or teacher…
Is it a bad thing, or is it good?
Maybe it’s just not quite understood...

While I was on Earth, I just couldn’t wait
To meet good St. Peter at the heavenly gate
And ask him a question or query or two
“What was my purpose?” “What good did I do?”
“What’s it all for?” “How does it all flow?”
“Can I have one more body, one more try, one more go?”
But where is the angel? Where is the gate? And
If this is Hell, then where is Ol’ Satan?
Am I a lost soul? Am I forgotten?
Am I to be left here until I am rotten?

Lo and behold! what, now, can this be?
Is this a wonderful spiritual epiphany?
Is this the magical feeling all souls receive
When they leave Earth? Oh! was I that naïve?
How could I have not seen the realism?
Why was I consumed in man-made idealism?
This is more wondrous than all I was taught
Oh, all the times I argued and fought
With others, ‘bout how their views were asinine
Now I see, theirs were just as wrong as mine!
Little I thought was actually correct!
How, why, did I let others petty beliefs infect
My untouched, my pure, my virgin mind?
I regret all the hours I self-tortured to find
That compared to what I see now, I was empty and blind…

Wait - - What is this that I see?
What is this gateway that is revealed unto me?

Now a door is opened to my immortal soul
I am expected now to enter my life’s final goal…
I am scared, intimidated, but still I am glad…
For the truth I have just seen is anything but bad.
This is the end of my journey, I’ve nothing to fear,
For now I am going Beyond the Frontier.

branded

if we could write a scarlet letter
in a world where there is no shame
and place it on a hester prine
just to shame her name
could we find another letter
to represent the womans scorn
and place the letter on her breast
ever to be worn
what would make the woman suffer
the intended consequence
could a conscious spur a soul
into moral consciousness
could a letter change her fate
from being evil to becoming good
and with the added question
did it harm the neiborhood

are all women judged by letters
as harmfull as she
all women judged by letters
to recieve a guilty plea
and all women judged by letters
to wear this ugly blot
and never be free from the sin
that made the awful spot

hester had integrity and hester had a skill
neither man of god or judge of men
could break our hesters will
hester had determination
and hester had her pride
she was not a rat
and yet she never lied
throught the years friends turn into enemies
and foes become good friends
a letter became a decoration
and no longer a mark of shame
soon the world would learn the truth
and the truth can set you free
it's not about who they say you are
it's about who you'll be

when the world sends the letters
and they come to you as mail
don't ignore the letters
answer them very well
when the world sends you letters
through the whispers of friends
don't believe everything
said by so called friends
when the world sends you letters
judging your moral values
take a look at yourself and be honest
do you really have to?
and when the world sends you letters
about your lower class
i don't even have to tell ya, you know.

I am a woman, not a woe-man

I am valuable but not worth any price
I am precious but far more than gold
I am productive but not for abuse
I can talk but not to be abused of talking
I am hardworking but not to be a slave
I am a wife but I am an individual too

I am a mother but I'm just human
I am strong but I get tired too,
I am in flesh, so I need rest
I care but I value myselft first and foremost
I am kind but need kindness too
I listen but not to be lied to
I run the house but I deserve to run myself too

I am the help meet but I need support too
I understand but not to be misunderstood
I provide but I need to be provided for too
I run the kitchen but I need to run my self too
I am the housewife but I am a wife too,
I am married, to my husband, not the house!
I love but I should not be taken for granted

I am weak but not to be raped, beated and scratched
I am submissive and obedient but not to be exercised power abuse on
I am a cheerful giver but not to be robbed
I am soft but not to have my blood squeezed out,
I am full of life but not to be taken away from me
Yes, I am a woman,
Created to live,
Not to be a woebegone!

WOMAN

Day by day we pray to stay alive, ladies, the face of this world is slowly changing, no longer do we need to hold our heads in disgrace, and it’s about time we take our place. No longer let us be connived, nor let us forget the silent cries in trees that our sista’s souls are still hangin’, see the true in others denies rather waistin’ yourself complaining. Nor keep us from strength to stand by man, strength to leave if struck by hand, no more bruises upon our face for we also help to make this race. No more scars upon our souls for only marked with beauty moles and let our stories be fortold for we are women who behold, a key to inspiration and moral pride, coming out of our hide, Gods rules are to which one should only apply, but most chose pain to keep inside, left alone and died. Your elimination of God’s creation, we are but faith to this nation. Men of ignorance we are sick of belligerence, cuz we prove intelligence, cuz where there’s no woman there is no man strong and on this land we belong as distinct and separate persons walk along. Before your ignorance get the respect that you so vainly seek, practice what you claim til' all things you do or speak shall in reality be the same, nor let us be so eased to blame and give us our well earned past due fame, all musical and sorrowful stories contained. My people, make me proud to know your name and I’ll return the favour by doing the same.
For all men whom think us fast, remember the good ones always finish last, we women are still raped future and past so personally you can kiss my ... In us your babies wombs all your life fluids we consume, to mothers growing up too soon, to those mommas babies and daddy’s maybes.....REMEMBER, when your round to actin' shady, we are the ladies of this land, women with pride we stand, I am a WOMAN and for equal respect, I would do it again!!!

The halo effect

If there is one thing I remember
It is what life told
Just open your eyes
All that glisters may not be gold
So who is to blame and whose fault I hold
The halo effect, the one in disguise
Manifesting deception in front of thy eyes
Treat one different because of their look
Why read? Judge the cover of the book?
But you do read others because they don’t have the look
If you understand, how long has it took?
The halo effect, we magnify a trait
Condone the flaws, we magnify a trait
Attractiveness, is this what you mean?
All this talk, my perception a feign?
What I see, aint what it seem?
Huh, thanks for this, as well as that.
The halo effect, my mind was hacked.

The Empty Rib Slot

Dedicated to all of the guys who helped me to make the checklist - thanks!

The Empty Rib Slot I think I might have A perfect checklist Highlights from men Gathered now missed Yes special highlights Each man carried some Now added to my checklist For a guy having it all in one This could be the key to find The man I’m dreaming of Not with bits and pieces One filled full of love A man made for me No it would be not I should fit perfectly Into an empty rib slot Let me share this list With every one of you Then decide for yourself If it could possibly be true My first check comes from This guy with dreamy eyes He deeply touched my soul Way more than ever realized He even had a special smile That made you want to grin No matter if life was down He encouraged me to win There was the big hugger With squeezes oh so tight He lifted me off the floor Like if I was taking flight He never did grow tired Of giving me those hugs I never had to ask for them He always did it out of love Then there was the dancer He stayed light on his feet He loved dancing with me Carrying rhythm and a beat Now of course on this list There certainly has to be That best friend I count on Who can also count on me I am even going to count The good points of quality Generated from my brothers And even from my daddy From them they all carry A very good temperament Always being so easy going Not looking for an argument When I am nestled in that slot With a perfect feel of passion All of his glory will then shine As it eludes from my reflection The most important one of all He who shares a spiritual side Being spiritually open with me Not allowing his beliefs to hide I know how this all may sound Like a crazy thing that I’ve got I want the man I fit snuggly with When I match his empty rib slot Florence McMillian (Flo)

If Only

If I could spend my whole life with you,
It will only be a dream, because no such thing is true.
If no one open's their heart all the way through.
How can I ever really give my heart to you?
If I did you wouldn't have felt the pain you do.
Therefor no need to say sorry,
we just say it, because we know it's not true.
We say it just to get you through,
to have, to behold, the pain I gave you!
If you should ever feel like this is your last breath,
to love, is to lay to rest.
It can feel worse than any death.
A women romancer is truly the best!
I've sacrifice nothing making you feel like you do,
but you have to learn to give credit, to where credit is due!
Stimulating of the heart, Is to know where to start.
         My devotion is to myself,
I have to love me, before loving any one else
I'm done with the burden of pain, to have me, it's to what you'll gain.
To walk beside me, to never deny me. To love me, is to live as one.
For you can now, feel just where I come from.
To pave a new way, to this unacquainted highway.
Intimacy is thee only thing I could offer to you.
For you could only be mine, no other friend will do.
To have you all to myself, is to deprive,
from liberty, to imprison, to confine to me. To surrender your heart,
thorough thick and, thin. To never let any other lover in,
to whom I'm your only friend, from the start till thee very end.
To vow to never give away your heart, if we do break apart.
If I shall ever feel the love you do for me, I promise to love you for eternity!
To never have to say I'm sorry, for the love I'll feel for you.
For I could never put you through!
To have a good women by your side, is to tell the truth, even if it make's me cry.
That's what it will take for you can be a real man.
To stand tall, to walk with pride, for a real man shouldn't have to lie.
If it should ever feel like it's way to hard, and we took this new found love way to far...
           Reminiscence of that day,
that I began to play thee O' Jays, when I used to be your girl,
till you opened my eyes to this cruel world.
I would like to start all over again, can you change my mind, to just go back in time.
For to truly love someone, is to let them free.
To find each other again, it was truly meant to be!
To say this is true love, shall ever be a mystery.
For there's no paradise, in this so called world we call life.
Until thee very day you make me your wife!

America's Veterens

God bless the man
who made the stand
to keep America free
from the beginning of
America’s history

for over 200 years
our men and women have
stood in harms way
who believed in America
to keep her free

honor and sacrifice are
just two of the qualities
that reside in the hearts
and minds of our heroes
who ask nothing in return
for them selves

only to serve, protect and defend
the greatest country in history
where freedom rings though out the land

today is May 31, 2010
we honor all that men and women have done
and all the battles they have won

how many lives have been cut short
and buried in graves through out the world
knowing that they would never return
to share in the freedoms they fought for

so I say again God bless the man and woman
who have served
alive or passed into history

God damm the liberal left traitors in America
Who sit on their ass hiding in the tall grass
that have no intentions to serve

Cut throat surviving, struggling
Going under, death visits
Will to live, tested!
Selfishness Vs Selflessness
A Greater Love, encompasses me
God demonstrating mercy, for his children
Learning about forgiveness, cultivating, inner faith
Melody of Love, one can experience
In the darkest, waking hours, of everyday living
Self survival, learning how to live

The Women

We laugh and cry. We smile and have fun
But even when that is all said and done
In our hearts still lie the sadness and woes
I guess our brains are too slow to know

No amount of cheer can hold back what we feel
With our souls overwhelmed we each find our way to deal
Whether in anger or anxiety, in guarded fear or open minds
We know that they are with us, in front and behind

As birds of a feather we are drawn together
Each carrying with us a pain that binds forever
We have become so much more than simply friends
The strength that we carry in us will always mend

Our broken hearts and tradgic tales
The hardships we have endured will make us prevail
We are the women that we are today
Because we let no limits hold us at bay.

Written on the 11th of September as proof of the strength that I see everyday not just in my family and friends but in women everywhere. Not to be cliched but I truely believe that the ones I wrote this for are amazing women that I cherish very much and I hope you can feel it too :)

An End to Aloneness

In my life I often feel I am alone; alone in my thoughts, alone in my musings, alone in my day-to-day movements and unsatisfying activities. I move like a ghost through hallways and down sidewalks, unnoticed and, at times, gratefully so.
I do not wish to be eternally alone. I long for togetherness. But despite this desire for a real connection, I find myself regularly retreating from that temperamental beast that is human interaction.

“Come on now, sweetheart. Don’t lower your head. Don’t look away. Look up! Smile at someone! No! Don’t go back into your bedroom. Don’t lock the door! Why are you doing this?” my brain will plea.

I can’t help myself. Aloneness is comfortable. In being alone, I don’t have to worry about anyone but myself. I don’t have to please anyone else. I can think anything I want, wear anything I want, listen to anything I want, and laugh at anything I want.

And still there remains that nagging desire to be loved and wanted and needed by somebody. I do not know the feeling of being truly desired. I do not know what it is like for someone to crave my company, my smile, my kiss, or my touch.

                                                                              But I would like to…

I cannot make someone love me or like me or want me in some primal way. It may hurt, but I cannot make that handsome boy want to hold my hand or brush my hair back behind my ear. I can only struggle on. I can only work within myself. I can only try every God damn day to hold my head up, keep my eyes fixed ahead, a give the world the best smile I have. I and I alone can bring myself out of the safety of my bedroom and into the bright world that lies beyond that locked door.

I often find myself alone with nothing more than my thoughts and the ever-strong glow of a computer screen. But no longer will aloneness be the constant in my life. It is true that never having known the caress of a man’s hand on my thigh doesn't make me any less of a woman, but I fear that if I stay confined within myself much longer I will begin to become less of a human. A flower cannot grow if it retracts its leaves and petals every time it feels the warmth of the sun or the kiss of a gentle spring rain.

And I want to grow. I want to grow so tall and blossom so big and beautifully that every place on earth is touched by my shadow at some point in the day. And I will grow. I will push myself and share myself with the world, and finally
							                                 finally
								                                   finally
know the closeness and comfort of love and honest, unabashed companionship.

The Broken Girl-not me

Is my life not tortured enough for you to see?
I am broken as can be.
My heart is torn.
My tears stain these perfect floors.
Why are singing with glee?
Why do you not care about my every plea?
I am trapped in your arms.
I am the hopeless moth.
How did you pick me?
What is it that you see?
A girl untouched by life?
A flower blooming in the desert?
I have said goodbye to my loving integrity.
You took that from me through R-A-P-E.

Come and Go Chicago

Come and Go Chicago – Zamreen Zarook

Where are you going my lady?
Where are you from my sweetie?
What ever you ask my buddy,
You won’t get the paddy.

She became a liar,
Because of your chore,
Two questions that you murmur,
Master, don’t forget that you were the rear.

You became a sinner,
Without knowing what is inner,
Now you know the manner,
So, never to forget the dinner.

Cease to care for those questions,
Nothing you gain from the considerations,
Everyone has their own equations,
So,they do have their explanations.

I blame me

I blame me for all my mistakes
I blame me for all the rejection and heartache
I blame me for all the times I stayed silent
and should have started and earthquake
with my words
I should have spoken up when I had the chance
now all those thoughts are wasted
unspoken, unheard

I blame me when my husband touches me
and I feel the hands of a predators pounce
And I blame me when the pressure it on
because all I had to do was shout out and renounce His name
Lord, help me to get rid of the shame

I blame me for my loneliness
I blame me for my feelings of lust
I blame me when I look at myself and see absolute disgust
I blame me when I shut down - unsure of who to trust
At times not even sure if I really know how to love

I blame me when my kids are crying out sick
because when I brought them here
I knew that this world was unfit
Yet overpowered by my love for them
I became more and more protective
So I blame myself in advance for their sadness
when they finally see that the world is not objective

I blame me for those nights I can't rest
Wondering if my consciousness has finally realized
that I have done my best
to stay positive and have good intentions
So I blame myself when I give in to temptations and my human inhibitions
and begin to feel ashamed of myself
I begin to feel like I don't have enough strength to love myself
because
good things don't happen for me
So I blame me for my thinking and feelings of worthlessness

It's a big world and my lonely soul has no more confidence
I have nothing
I have given up
and so I blame me for my incompetence and my soul's rut

Strength Through Struggle

Your path may be rocky and tough right now. But one day soon, He’ll show you how, to seek His comfort and His love. It’s time to pray to God Above. You’ve been given “Wings” to help you fly. Now’s not the time to question why. Accept with gratitude the gifts you’re shown, and simply know, you’re not alone! His Angels are working, both day and night, to comfort you and relieve your fright. You’ve gone through some suffering and some pain. Now it’s your time to come in from the rain. With open arms they welcome you, Alone or with children, but there’s work to do. Awaken each day and see these gifts. Then share yours with others and your spirits will lift. For through His Grace you have a new day, But remember to thank Him as you pray. One day you will fully see your place, And know that through struggle, you’ll soon see His Grace!

The Gracious Woman

The gracious woman is hated
She is not overrated but such a natural one
Morals and values dictated
Through her trials and tribulations her smiles stun
Family and friends created
Stay optimistic throughout the long run
The woman is so courageous
A strong heart is number one
She seems to be contagious
Her relationships are always undone
Her worthiness is outrageous
To find another is dreadful
To lose her is regretful
A woman of this caliber is so special

One Pen

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

To write the pain a deff
man can't hear speak what a blind can't see. Uncover the truth and hide the lies we tells as a society.

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

Get the word out to the
ghetto that there is a
better place. We don't
have to reach heaven
to see it. We killing our
brothers and sisters over
colors don't make sense.

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

To tell my brothers behind bars a strong body has no comparsion to a weak mind. Do time don't let time do you.

All i need is one pen, one piece of a paper just one.

Send all the women with children a happy day mothers day letter, even if it aint may.

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

One shot of that liquor thats infecting my liver but only way ill spill out all these words. Sober thoughts i could only speak intoxicated. One doctor for a liver-transplate if this one shall fail on me.

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

One chance to reach for the stars and pull one down. Show the world no task is impossible to accomplish. Stay motivated stay determined no telling what you can achieve.

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

One voice one prayer to ask God to forgive you and i for our sins. See none of us is perfect and this world aint either.

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

One pen to bleed on that one piece of paper just one so one soul can finally be let free. show others many ways you paint without a brush.

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

To read my motivational speech to the men and women serving our country. May i give them strenght to come back home to their love ones.

all I need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

One man hating, one woman loving me. One whip no chains im so free.

All i need is one pen, one piece of paper just one.

Success wouldn't mean much if i couldn't write about it.

Nothing in this world is more important than one pen one piece of paper. thats all i need just one.

You and I

You and I.

You.

Your heart blazed,
with a warmth of spirit,

soothing,

alluring,

soaked in truth.

Your smile burned,
branding me permanently,

gentle,

tender,

enveloping my being.

Your love was complete,
from the depths of your soul,

unsaid,

yet fierce,

bathed in silent knowing.

Your dreams were poetic,
fluttering in the afternoon breeze,
infused with the distilled essence of rhyme.

I.

I squandered your generosity of spirit.

I vainly discarded your priceless poems.

Now I stand,

alone,

empty,

desolate,

wasting away,

rotting inside, day by day.

Defend Yourself Women

Being a woman has its challenges at times,
We're always working hard to only get a couple dimes.
But “man's” comments make me thrive,
Especially the ones about the way we drive.
But put yourself in our shoes and see with what we're dealing,
Then try to say women have too many feelings!
I hear we're suppose to stay in the kitchen to cook and clean,
That's funny! You clean up your mess and make it gleam!
I'm not going to be pushed around! I'm in charge of my life!
If you don't like it-then go find yourself a different wife!
Yes, there is equal rights and opportunities for women and men,
But one day women will be the rulers and men will obey us until the end!

Secret Touch

God created woman
Just as God created man
However I think woman are the most precious
Let me help you understand
A woman bares fruit that a man cannot produce
Just a man has has certain tools, which some women are desperate to put to use
Women are different, sensual and soft inside
The exterior isn't always that way
Look hard enough & her simplicity you may find
Yes we are complicated and at times hard to read
We are strong and slick at the mouth
Some of us full of lust and greed
Yes that sounded blunt
However my words blunt and true
You know some of these descriptions somehow express the woman in you
Long hair, Short hair and some straight bald
Different shapes and sizes
Different explicit names we are called
A woman I am, And Women I love
To my appeal, there's nothing like a woman's touch
The softness of her lips
Like the Silk of my sheets
The beauty of her presence
The innocence that glows while she sleeps
The curves of her shape i see clearly through a tinted screen
A woman's Ora is like a drug
So I guess most men are considered feigns.
They say its a mans world
Which is quite comical to me
Because without women in this world
A man cant even succeed
We are the back bone
We are the foundation
Women are a blessing
A blessing with complications
I love my gender
And trust when I say they love me
Two women powered together
With that only Glory I foresee
Look at us women
The world is blessed to have us
Believe me when I say
There's nothing like a woman's touch

Beautiful Black Woman

Beautiful black woman
You're a Queen.
Beautiful black woman
You have to dream!

Beautiful black woman
You're worth more than the finest gems.
Your love,
Holds the presence of God's healing hands.

Beautiful black woman
You're the reason why I breathe.

In this follow follow society
Zombies follow I gotta lead...

Beautiful black woman whom,
birthed me into this crazy world,
I came from your womb
not to be cast down and quietly consumed,
By the rage and fury of a people in a hurry.

You born me...
To be a catalyst of change!
To stand against rape!
To fight for your freedom!
To bring on the new Kingdom!

Beautiful black woman
You're a Queen.
Beautiful black woman
You have to dream!

Beautiful black woman
You're worth more than the finest gems.

The world is starving for LOVE.
We need you ...
For you are LOVE.
Your Unconditional Love holds the keys.
As a matter of fact you have the power to put the world at ease.
Create Peace.
Please forgive us men who fail to understand that
Your LOVE holds the presence of God's healing hands.

Beautiful black woman
You're a Queen.
Beautiful black woman
You have to dream!

Your LOVE holds the presence of God's healing hands.

Once Upon a Time I was One of THEM

Eyes dry, I look out at THEM. They crawl in the dirt with a trail of tears shedding like a
long haired dog's coat in the summer time.
Anger build up inside of me as I watch THEM.
THEY are the women children of this world.

Searching.
Begging.
Longing.
They want to be loved.

No. These poor creatures do not know what love is. They know of pain.
They know of rising waves and riptides of anger and desperation,
but not love.

To find this treasure that they have heard about their entire life they change.
Change like the leaves on a tree. With every man that comes their way the colors change.

Green.
Orange.
Yellow.
Red.
Brown.
Bare.

I hate the sight of them. They sicken me. Why?
Once upon a time I was one of THEM.
Once upon a time I was lost too.
That person is dead now.
Now I have the skin of an Indian woman, but my heart remains soft.

Looking for happiness, these women children turn to him,
the one that brings nothing but pain. Their Frogs they try so hard to keep on their lily
pads. He swims off to the next one when he wants to get his feet wet.

Yes. My skin has grown tough, but my heart remains soft. He will not take that from me.
I stand strong and proud. May the fierceness in my soul boil over and illuminate the
passion that is me! I hold my head high and walk out of my house knowing.

I have that. I know that everything I have been through.
Every trial.
Every lie.
Every mistake.
Every tear.
Every scar.
Every rumor.
Every hurtful thing.
Every careless word.
Every scream.
Every man...

has made me what I am today.

May the light shine on my face as these tear tracked cheeks raise with smile. May the
strength within me help the others around me. For I know what I am.
I AM A WOMAN. Proud and Free.

Protect Me As I Sleep

Nobody
Knows my real name
‘Angel’
Is what I go by
I am freezing cold
I don’t have money
Just, the clothes on my back
I am a walking wardrobe
I am lonely
I smell like crap
I am starving hungry
I can’t find any shelter
My clothes are drenched
I look like a drowned rat!
Violence
Upon women
Is classed normal
Around here!
I wonder...
If
I will survive
Another day?
Only
To wake up
And
Do this
All over, again!
“Protect me tonight
As,I lay my head to rest”
“I love you, dear God”

“Goodnight”

The Unusual Fragrance

The unusual fragrance looms above my room,
Its owner not yet known,
Its purpose still a mystery I assume
Sweeter than any other fragrance I ever own,

Its mood is ataraxia,
Cold soothing scent, texture so smooth,
Like dying in a peaceful euthanasia,
I have it trapped in a booth,

Smells like angels on a spring break,
Dancing gloriously in the water fall,
With a rattling feeling like an earth quake,
Its particles bouncing from wall to wall,

Clogged in my mind is a fog of disconcert,
As I battle my feeling to a perfect stranger,
The feeling of unrest causes discomfort,
As the unusual fragrance puts my heart in danger,

Under Ground Cities

A man walks into a new generation gangster town,
there were guns, amoe, drugs, explosives, and allot of bad people, and that's all he found.
He looked around the streets and saw allot of African American people running the show,
he walks into one corridor and into another city, and he welcomed the flow.

The new city, to him it wasn't any different than the one he just came out from, there were Muslims,
they wore gold chains and hiphop music was playing every where, the mostly dealt cocaine, and said fuk them.
there women were so beautiful, they would walk around in heals and panties were ever they went,
the man walked though all the gorgeous women and thought to him self, "no I can't".

The man walks into a new city, he walked into "The Slums" it was the hardest and the baddest outlaws of the nations,
the man looked around and right away he did not like what he saw there, everything was dirty and without and patience.
He couldn't wait to get out of there, the women were nasty and smelled like they haven't showered in years,
The man put his head down and started walking out of the slums with nothing in his eyes but tears.

The man walked into "Siberia" Everyone living there saw the man come in and they all rushed to great him,
at first the man got a little scared, but than he saw there smiles, so he smiled back at them.
Everyone was living there was dancing to a death mettle Hip Hop music, while drinking and sniffing cocaine with a gun on there sides,
The man walks to the bar while looking at all the beautiful women that are dancing and giving him a sexy look.
Than the BOSS of the city comes up to him, pores him a drink and tells him how he is the BOSS of the whole West Coast,
the man looked at him and smiled, he put his hand around the boss, looked at everyone around and said, "Let's Toast".

They Left so Abruptly

They Left so Abruptly

(for the countless South Africans, of all colours, who dedicated their lives for freedom and democracy)

the valiant ones
countless
many known
many more nameless

the truest sons and singers
husbands and poets
lovers and wives
daughters and farmers
workers and sisters
brothers and friends

they left so abruptly
with quiet pride
steely courage
gentle dignity

they left so abruptly
leaving us our tomorrows
brighter
hopeful
filled with promise

they left so abruptly
so that we may breathe
the breath of liberty
the air of freedom
the warmth of justice

they left so abruptly
leaving with us their parting gift

freedom
inkululeko
swatantrata
liberte
azadi
vhudilangi
libertad

they left so abruptly
yet we remember them all
today
in the days that slipped away
and in the many more that we await

they left so abruptly
yet they remain
hewed into our memories
etched in our consciences
engraved in our hearts
they left so abruptly
and yet they endure
with us
within us
now and forever more

Finally

There was a wonderful change in my life today,
A sense of something good comming my way.
It's been a long time comming and it's feeling right ,
I know this because I was able to sleep last nihgt.
Loving you has always been so easy for me ,
Holding on to you was very different you see.
Finally the clouds and stormy skies have cleared,
We can see it clearly now that it is so near.
For years we have struggled with this love we shared,
Only recently have the two of us become so aware.
Of what we truly feel for each other these days,
Leaving no doubts it was meant to be this way.
I love her more now then I ever have before ,
To think I was about to walk out that door.
She loves me I can feel her much closer now ,
The happiness I feel makes me scream aloud.
Telling everyone I have a wonderful thing,
The love of my Queen who has made me her King.
We will live our lives making all the memories ,
This love I have for you and you have for me.

For Mother Teresa

For Mother Teresa

to see...

the clarity of beauty between the murky folds of life

to see...

the simple truths of living
between the horror and the endless strike

to see...

the innocent smiles of the children at play
while the elder preach hate and division and continue to slay

to see...

the endless yearning for that simpler better place
away from the hollow emptiness of this ostentatious space

to see...

the open vistas of this pale blue dot
the soft reds and fruity greens as this home is all we have got

to see...

the tears of the dispossessed who have been cruelly cast aside
and while we look the other way from their tears we may never hide

to see...

the endless hunger and despair and killing and greed
in the name of God or of ideology or of some or the other creed

to see...

and to see it all

and still stand tall

to hold on to the humanity

that resides deep within us all

may be our only saving grace

and though all of this sounds quaint and saccharine sweet

I need to remember all that I've said

the next time I look into a teary-eyed desolate face

to see...

that being human is simple if we only look beyond ourselves and see

that we are all one, him and her and them and us and you and me...

The Kings Three Sons Part 3

He said, "You spend all day in bed with your women, and not one you have married. I think they could use a break. Your brother wishes to starve the people. If you were to be King what would you do?" "The army is week with loneliness." The second son said, as he pulled his wenches close. "I will let them take all the women they want." "So you will rape the women?" the King asked. "Are women not a vessel to be used in that way?" the second son spoke with mocking in his voice. The King sighed, for this was another son he mislead. "My son," the King spoke again, "I love you as much as a king could love a son but I love my people more. You shall not be King." Anger filled the second son And rising his fist up high, he spat, "When you die I will have reign and the guards will take every woman, even if it is before her time." So with his toys in tow he stormed out the room” The wizard stopped and looked me in the eyes, “have you heard this one before my child?” “No,” I answered back, eager to hear what the King will do. “Very well,” He said as he went on. The King called onto his third son; hopping he will bring what the other two could not. The King’s third son was short and small; with children as servants so he could feel very tall. "My king," the third son said, ‘what is so important that you must drag me from my chambers were I sleep?" ‘My son,’ The King went on, ‘your brothers wish to starve and rape my people. If you were king what would you do?" The third son raised a hand to his chin; thinking hard. "The army is all to tall," he began, "I shall take the children from their homes and have them trained as solders do." "You wish to brainwash children to do the evils not even men should so?" With a coy smile the third son said, "Precisely, my King, if it pleases you." "My son,"

A Vision of Light

A captured heart with the warmth of a beautiful smile, meeting you from the start viewing
you as God’s work of human art.

The softest word sounds an angel’s voice, making me feel him in my heart in knowing you I
rejoice.

A God fearing woman you live by the word, and every once in a while you flip someone the
bird.

Young and beautiful you are a vision from afar kind and helpful in mind all men look and say
you are fine.

God has blessed you in a feminine role, all women you are in one vision my heart you stole.
Smooth golden brown skin, Nubian brilliance in color sweet as the berries in the trees that
hover.

Picking ripe fruit tasting it and enjoying its nectar, your love to me would be excellent it will
never fester.

In the vision I see you encompass all women to me…

Women made me

I focus on my attributes in hope to one day compete
With them so called, "players and g's"
A wide skill level, intelligent approach to life
From writing poetry to being the best in a fight

I raise my intellect because girls don't like stupid
Began to learn in order to help cupid
Various knowledge, gained just to impress
But i kept going, curious as to what i'll learn next

I play piano because i was inspired by movies
Where with a sweet song, you get that girl nice and gooey
She falls for you, and then you have your queen
And all you had to do was flick some keys

I blow that clarinet to use it like a net
Sweeping women off there feet with musical clefs
It feels nice as my fingers fly
Closing the keys and emitting soft sighs

At first i was focused on the women
Never having any i hoped this would attract them
Now i revel in it, i love the music
And so i have a whole different reason to do it

It was the same with sports, women love the stars
The athletes with chests and abs seen from afar
So i hit the field and began to improve
Proud of the new cuts and grooves

I started poetry with my first love note
Trying a new technique because nothing else worked
I began to enjoy so i continued to write
But my first poem was written because i wanted to be her knight

Without woman i'd of had no motivation
Never would of discovered my talents without inspiration
Besides without a woman i wouldn't be alive
So i have no respect for them rude guys

To all the ladies, i thank you and i hope you remain
Strong in relationships, please stay sane
And remember, not all of us are alike
You probably just overlook the guys that are nice

IT'S MY RESURRECTION TOO

two women both named Mary in the spirit of love, courage and care
went to the tomb where Jesus was laid but did not find Him there
it was the fulfillment of the prophecy that Jesus Himself said
that after three days He would arise His resurrection from the dead
an angel of the Lord was waiting there wearing raiment white as snow
It told both women to "fear not" for Jesus had to go
It said go and tell the Disciples all of Jesus' men
to go to Galilee where they would see Him again

it was a transformation, it was a cosmic victory for life
the resurrection of our Savior our Lord Jesus the Christ
but that would not be the end of this biblical story
as it's my resurrection too and I give God all the glory
on a Friday that day when Jesus was crucified
on a Friday high on a cross for my sins He died

we live in a society where the fear of living is abound
and many welcome death which seems to be all around
people are scared to live life and death is romanticized
for it is much harder to live than it is to die
but it"s my resurrection too, it's my affirmation of life
it's my resurrection too, as I also arose with Christ

Jesus came to make life justified and fair
but those in powerful positions did not want Him there
it's not that much different than what President Obama is trying to do
where those in powerful places want to get rid of him too

for us to be like Jesus who came to give us abundant life
for us to be like Jesus, the Word, the Son, the Gospel, the Christ
to overcome hatred and promote unconditional love
to overcome death and be resurrected by the power of His blood
it's my resurrection too it's my escape from a spiritual grave
it's my resurrection too for through Christ I've been saved

You Don't Know Her

A beautiful women on the corner of the street;
Short mini skirt, leopard print blouse, and stillettos on her feet.
Gorgeous blonde hair flowing down her back;
Too much make-up on her face and a fake tan to match.
Selling her body to guys out of town;
How foolish she looks, almost like a clown.
There is no reason for a women to justify herself that way;
Does she even realize that it's the middle of the day?
I bet she does drugs and that is why she needs the money;
Then a women beside me states, "You don't know her honey."

She is sweet as can be and has a heart full of gold;
That young girl there is only twenty years old.
Two twin girls at age seventeen she had;
A faithful husband to her, he was an amazing dad.
She got married young, but it was love at first sight;
Her husband called for duty in the middle of the night.
A phone call recieved that would change her life;
News that will break down any military wife.
Her loving husband killed in war; their future together gone.
No money for her and the kids; she needed to move on.
She does the best she can for her three-year old babies;
Only does it to support their needs; No ifs, ands, or maybes.
This woman you judge, you have no idea where her life is at;
I apologize and say, "You're right; I don't know her like that."

You have been broken down to believe you deserve no better
But you do and you forgot so now I write this letter
The strings were cut free to be the woman you know you are
Fear the secret tether keeping you from going too far
The game replayed and still you chose to be the willing fool
Knowingly a pawn knowing they will break the rule
You strove to rekindle your flame to reclaim your soul’s fire
Don’t deny yourself the respect or deny the desire
That familiar face in the mirror longs to understand the why
Love should bring you a smile not more tears to cry
Cast away self doubt and that lingering fear of the unknown
Left to the dark the flower would have never grown
Revel in your strengths as you relish what keeps you smitten
Freed from page your story’s end is yet to be written

Mom I'm Pregnant

“Mom…. I’m Pregnant!”

From the time I held my baby
in my arms…
I made a vow to “protect her from all harm.”

She was indeed a wonderful bundle of joy…
And during her life, has been a gift for us to enjoy.

She's been the focus of much of our attention,
Trying to provide for her
“timely” correction.

As a father, many thoughts entered my mind…
I wanted to be attentive to her,
patient and kind.

As she's gone through
her teenage years…
I thought of what perhaps is a parent’s #1 “fear.”

Then one day... “Mom I’m pregnant” were spoken...
At first, my heart was sad and “broken.”

“I didn’t raise her to be “crazy and wild…”
“How could this happen to a wonderful child?”

I realized that in spite of everything
 parent’s will do.
There’s no telling what their
children will put them through.

I gave her a hug and all of the
 support I could give…
Everything she’s been through…
 God will forgive!

With all that has happened in her life…
One day she’ll make someone a wonderful wife!

Dear Lord, please help my daugher to see...
How precious she is to her mother and me!

Lady Godiva

The portrait of Lady Godiva’s Ride

Inspires many a thought;

A woman filled with so much pride,

And against her husband, she fought;

Naked the Lady rode through town,

To protest her husband’s tax;

Coventry never was the same,

It stopped them in their tracks;

Lady Godiva never was tame,

But to me she is renowned!

The Lady was so daring and brave,

To face everyone in the nude;

History never reports women who behave,

But women like her they include;

Her brilliant ride on a stunning Gray,

Strutting her stuff through Coventry,

Her beauty remains unsurpassed;

The legend there for all to see,

Scarlet locks draped across her in a mass,

Such emotion this painting does portray!

words for the wise

living for someone else and not yourself can cause trouble. They might not be there to catch you when you stumble . Live for today and not tomorrow . Forget about the pain and the sorrow . Have your own back and don't become a dummy . Never back down and don't become phony . You only get one life to live so choose wisely . Can't trust no one , shame what this world can do to so many people they fell for the tricks of the evil . Rise above them all and stay positive . You live for your actions not for the power . life is simple its just not easy so look out for the traps and take it easy .

I Have Autism 2

It's been over two decades since I'd been diagnosed with autism. I've been an autistic
human being after I turned three years old. But despite being diagnosed with autism, mild
MR (mental retardation), and OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder), I'm still functioning
like everybody else. Everybody should know what their lives would be like if they had to
raise their children who had been born or had been diagnosed with autism. It seems that
people with autism are as intelligent and bright as I am, especially when it comes to
mainstreaming in school and stuff. What I learned about having autism is that not only
does this type of disability allow me to function with my family, autism had allowed me to
get an education and make new friends, too. everybody knows that people with autism,
including me, are all equal like everybody else. If these people want to tell the others
that they had autism, no one should be judgmental. And for when I'm able to tell someone
that I have autism, he and/or she is very open-minded and accepting. And if these people
want to be open-minded and accepting, so should I. So what all of the young men and young
women are autistic. Young men(including me) and young women with autism are all God's
children, regardless of what some people think. And what's so great about being autistic
is that we're not just finding our talents, but we're also living in our own worlds and
the real world at the same time. Whether he and/or she has autism, autism spectrum, or
Asperger's syndrome, which is autism's twin, they're all an equal. And come to think that
I'm still accepting the fact that I have autism and I'm very proud of it. Everybody also
knows that I have autism, he has autism, she has autism, and everybody from around the
nation and the whole world each have autism. The reason why all of these people are
accepting that the fact that we have autism is because they really care and kind and
understanding, for one, and for two, that all of our family members really love us, even
though we're autistic. And if all of the young men and young women can deal with being
autistic and they can accept the fact that they can function in the real world like
everybody else, so can I. And right now, I wish that the men and women were to know what
it's like to raise children who have been born or diagnosed with autism. I'm autistic and
I'm also an equal, just like everybody else.

Emmeline Pankurst

She fought for the rights
Of women everywhere,
Changing the laws
To make them more fair.
She worked extra hard
To make things just,
This fighting woman
Was Emmeline Pankurst.
She was a passionate feministe
Just like her mum,
Together they made
Sexist men look dumb.
Her example will inspire us
To stay together and strong,
No mather the distance
No matter how long.
The 1900's where when
A difference was made,
When the distence from men
Began to fade.
She led protests
Against authoritive men,
And thanks to that
Things are much different that then.
So many fewer women
Are expected to clean,
Ordered about
And treated mean.
The world is now
A better place,
Where women and men
Wear the same face.
Through hard times and struggle
She pushed her way through,
Emmeline Pankurst,
All women thank you.

I Had A Dream

I had a dream that Malcolm X, Martin Luther the King Jr., and Tupac
was speaking to me
Mourning on why our black’s folks are killing each other mourning because
our generation is getting worser
Mourning because they fought for no reason because our blacks now days
don’t appreciate the freedom that we gave them
I hardly see my black brothers going to college educating themselves
I hardly see educated young black women
The only thing I see now is hoes and thugs walking up and down our
streets that we once walk and fought on
And why are my brothers killing each other thinking that our own kind is
the enemy
While some white men is in the background smoking a cigar laughing and
just watching the madness
Tell me why when I look at the black communities the only thing I see is
mothers crying and babies dying
Young black boys carrying guns knowing that they can not handle it
Tell me why I don’t see any real black leaders stepping up trying to stop
the violence so the world can at least get better
Tell me why I don’t see any black leaders stepping up and fighting the
truth like we did back then
I know it will pay a cost but at least you fought for something to change a
nation for ever
And I thought that we would change the mind of black people forever but
it looks like it only did for a little while
Because our eyes are fill with tears when we see young black women
pregnant at an early age can’t even afford to take care of the baby
Where are the mothers to tell them to educate themselves and keep their
legs close because they have plenty of time for love
Where are the fathers now days when their son has a full loaded gun ready
to take someone else life
They pull the trigger because they don’t hear that one voice they want to
hear to tell them to stop
They don’t have a father figure in their house so they feel left out when
they see other young men their age with fathers
Tell me why when I hear music now days it doesn’t make sense anymore
Black brothers rapping now talking about killing their own brother and
calling their own black sister out their name

But about thirty years ago our black men respect each other and didn’t call
women out their name
Black women weren’t hoes instead they were educated strong women that
fought against ignorance
Tell me why people don’t listen to us anymore
They just watch the tape and don’t listen to what we had to say
They don’t even open their eyes to see the real truth we told and explain
they don’t even care about what we been through or what we had to give
up so our blacks could have freedom
I only hope you can change the world Donta go and tell our people to
educate their selves and stick together
So one day you and our black brothers and sisters can change the world

no it aint okay c j

JUST ANOTHER ANNOYANCE

?
no it ain't okay c.j.

i like playing games but this one ain't any phun
I love dancing, but the music is almost done
i like movies but not one so obscure
and this is one flick I care not to endure

checkers is cool but chess requires brains
i dig bowling but these are oftentimes crooked lanes
Monopoly is a challenge but not very hard
except I can't draw a single "get out of jail free" card
i like women who never makes me pained
and I don't buy her "I love you" because I know it's probably feigned
I like certain emotions but with surety not this one
and I like playing cowboys and Indians but not without a loaded gun
I dig women who are hot but this one is both hot and cold
i love sleeping next to a lady but not one I cannot hold
a lovely lady like her is too slinky to be held
and I like getting love letters but not when the letters are misspelled
this game is a shame and damn it's also a sham
So you'll simply have to do without me ma'am
I'd like people to know which one of us is to blame
and as I said, I like playing games but this one is a m****r f*****g shame

Godly Expression

Godly expression
BY HEROLD OSMOND OWOSEB
Character full of colour
Many shades of beauty
Seeds of greatness trapped within
A great mystery I desire to discover

So composed, a great masterpiece
Clothed with stillness and humility
At times getting lost in thought
A great journey undertaken

Like the colours of the sunset
You are blended with uniqueness
Like a cloud in the midst of a cloud-covered sky
You stand out in the world

Many will draw life from your utterances
A river springs forth from within you
You are not meant to fit in
Your unique design is God expressing Himself through you

sinner

Trouble with the endeavors of life
punish with the words spoken of the men who once told me they loved me
walkers upon the darkness
beaten with the fleshly judgment of women around me with there stead fast faith
Believing life is an never ending pit a steady trial with weary roads with many bumps and rugged hills

Struggling to be better then what is expected hated by Christian women who once spoke to me with love
Judge by my enemy lost in this lusting and desirable greedy world
Body weary and heart crossed between two paths
For misunderstood by those saints that worship in there so called tabernacle
But a saint is just a sinner who once fell down i heard a wise man once say
For i am just sinner searching for a way

For Maya Angelou

For Dr Maya Angelou

Vanquished by the day one may be,
Beaten down by the barren night.

Faltering at times,
at times upright.

Still one stands.
One still fights.

For though one falls,
One must rise.

Women In White

The attack of Pearl Harbor
Such a devastating day,
Unexpected bombs, hit and destroyed
The Hawaiian Islands.

Other than the brave men
Who lost their lives trying to
Defend our blessed country,
there was another group who stepped up
To help with such a hopeless disaster.

They were not men at all,
But women in white
Wearing a red cross on their hat.
These women who took on big challenges,
That not only changed their lives, but ours today.

Even though we had lost thousands
Those women tried their best to give them life,
Some failed, but never gave up,
Even when they were exhausted and traumatized.

They were diligent and caring
We called them nurses, but they were more than that,
They were heroes, the angels of Pearl Harbor.

The Kings Three Sons Part 2

The eldest of the sons came first. He was large; as tall as a bear on its hind legs, and FAT. His chin was not one or two, but three! His stomach hung so far down, it took four servants to keep it above the ground. "My King," he barked out in a manner rather rude, "What has so much importance that you drag me from my table of food?" "Surely," the King said, looking his oldest son up and down, ‘you can afford to miss a meal or four." With a squeal the eldest son turned red. "As you know," the King spoke out, "I have not much time as King anymore, tell me what your plans are, if this future was bestowed on you?’" With a smile that covered his face in a pudgy haze, the eldest son spoke. "The army has grown tired of sitting around. They bother me constantly with boring sounds. The prisoners they usually torture, have rotted away, leaving only bones, not even the hounds will eat." "The land is filled with peace, my son, how can that be a bad thing?" "Because," the eldest when on, ‘they are bored and will not want to fight for us when peace breaks down to war."
"And what would you have them do?" "Send them out. They have free range with in the land. Have them take the food that is ours, and bring it back from me to enjoy." "So, you will have your people starve?" "They are not my people, but yours." With anger, the King said, "My son, I love you as much as any King could love a son, but I love my people more, and thus, I can not make King." With anger, the eldest son raised a chubby fist, and spat out, "When you die, old man,I will have your throne. I will have all the crops and meats and cheeses your people make, inside my stomach! And when I eat all their food, I'll eat their children too!" Storming off with his servants, hurrying ahead, trying to keep his girth from tripping his feet. Saddened, the King called forth his second son. The King's second son was thin and tall with women all around. "My King," the second son spoke, "what is so important that you must drag me from the women I keep?" "My son,"

Where Are The Women Of Old?

Where are the women of old, those who knew how to please God,
Not with eloquent words or impressive deeds,
But those who knew the real work was founded on bended knees,
Because they knew it was going to take, not a religion,
But a relationship with a Mighty God to be the hearts of their families,
To cook those meals, to mend those clothes, to take care of the house, to be the spouse,
And the extended arm of their communities.

Where are the women, who could sing and moan those old spiritual hymns,
Like “Amazing Grace” and “Shine On Me”,
While cleaning those greens, and baking that macaroni and cheese,
That would make you drop to your knees, and that chicken fried so crisp,
Because it was mixed with these ingredients: Faith, Hope, and Love.
“Precious Lord, Take My Hand” and “Guide Me Over Thy Great Jehovah”,
While mending those socks, and patching those holes, and piecing quilt on top of quilt. Each
stitch gently sown in: Faith, Hope, and Love.

Where are those women who would cover their children in prayer,
Every morning before sending them out the door,
And would give praise and glory to their Heavenly Father for keeping them safe,
As he led them end to the close of another day.
And those women who would give to their husbands, their due benevolence,
After the world beat him down, reminding him in this house he wore a priestly crown, And
his heart was safe with her.

Where are the women, I ask, who were the pillars of their communities,
Teaching the young women how the be chaste and not busy bodies,
Feeding the hunger, clothing the naked, and nursing the sick back to health,
Doing it all in the strength of her Lord, pleading Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
These women knew how to build their houses because they were wise.
These women are hidden treasures and much to be desired.

Where are the women of old, those who know how to please God,
Not with eloquent words or impressive deeds,
But those who know the real work is founded on bended knees,
Because you know it was going to take, not a religion,
But a relationship with a Mighty God to be the hearts of your families.
To cook those meals, to mend those clothes, to take care of the house, to be the spouse,
And the extended arm of your communities.

To be the Proverbs 31 woman that God has called you to be.

                                                                                                                   DMWade

Men And Women

Men are men,
no doubt about that,
then,
women are women,
is there any doubt about that too,
men have been given jobs,
so have been women,
but what happens when you do vice versa,
not my worry,
I am not a world's job describer,
But some things I can say for sure,
there would be time of immense confusion,
quite difficult to endure,
some jobs can be done by strong,
weak are at best for such jobs wrong,
whether women are weak,
or the men strong,
I know not,
but the exchange scheme,
is going to raise such cases,
and the world is gonna repeatedly ask,
for those days,
when they used to say,
men are men,
and women are women,
now the question would be,
for how long?

Remember

My black hand bag tucked under my arm.
A rush of blood to the head.
Come on let’s release the energy today.
The arrival of the meeting parade.
A peep through the haunted night.
A year on things had changed in there lifes.
A picture frame in a human form.
A normal driver of a taxi does his routine journey.
There is nothing new in what he does as he sees a
female passenger near a taxi stand.
The passenger get’s in as he drops her off near just after her
house to her request.
She say’s she has no money the taxi driver see’s her daughter
in her so he let’s her off.
The taxi driver glances in the back mirror to see a black bag on the
seat.
He quickly get’s out of the taxi with the bag and goes to the house
where he dropped the girl off.
A door slowly opens an old women appears, who are you she say’s to him.
Can you give the girl her bag she left it in my taxi he say’s
The old women looks at him in shock, she say’s to him I have no one anymore.

Working Women

We women work so hard to be accepted.
We women often get neglected,
By members of the opposite sex.
Fathers, brothers, uncles, boyfriends, husbands,
The list goes on.
They always think we have an attitude.
What do you expect?
When we get no attention or recognition dude.

No appreciation is shown when we carry your child.
You’re somewhere playing with the remote,
With another woman, or with the fellas running wild.
While we are at home: cooking, cleaning, paying bills,
Simply multitasking in the home.
You men get mad when we’re too tired to get it on.

We women need appreciation.
We women need to be shown some gratitude
If we women get those two things,
Then maybe, more of us women would be
In the mood for relations.

Burden

They were some people who carry hugh weight on their shoulders.
Hand touching their eyes as they look up to the sky.
A discussion takes place near the fire in a crisis.
A hand of the clock is moving fast condemns the women.
Her husband looks at her don’t do this to me turn the clock back.
The women put’s her hand to cover her eyes and cries.
The look of disgust for all to see appeared from nowhere.
I am ready to go out I wonder what to wear.
They turn around after her disappearance as the husband stares.
Look at my shoulders can’t you see they are getting sore.
The women replies in a harsh way there are two people in a discovery.
She places all her bangles to one side this is the price to pay for our deeds.
The husband wraps them up and places in a safe they belong here for now.
He quickly places a paper on the table and writes as his wife watches.
This is my stamped name keep it safe it might disappear one day.
The women laughs at him can a piece of paper relieve the burden of faded hair.

Celebrating 50:XXIII

Distilled Jamaican Anthem Part 2

Teach Us True Respect For All
for our workers are all important, our farmers, our artisans
our women at the stove, our women at the mill, our women
who birthed us, our teachers, lawyers, doctors, and the men
with axes, yard cutters, fishermen, bakers, drivers, politicians
Stir Response To Duty Call
that our hearts be not faint, nor our minds become lazy
that our flesh be not weak, and our loins be firm to bare
the load of home, community, country, and will to share
to give our all and never complain of being ever weary.
Strengthen Us The Weak To Cherish
for we were naked too, and homeless, stereotyped, accused
and we are the poor, the uneducated, the exploited, the sick
give us strong compassion, resources mental and economic
that open prison bars with love, and comfort well the abused.
Give Us Vision Less We Perish
to know the present and where its coming from, and to know
where we are going, and why we have chosen the path we take
father guide us to best choices, and not the easy ones to make
and wealth is multiplied may our vision not hide you in the flow.
Knowledge Send Us Heavenly Father,
from the person in the hovel, fromm the man in the street, and
from the child who no experience blinds the alternative eye
from the student, and the master, from angels through the sky
and your holy spirit, o god give us back bones worthy to stand.
Grant True Wisdom From Above.
and may we find it devoted to love

Justice, Truth be ours forever,
Jamaica, land we love.
Jamaica, Jamaica, Jamaica land we love.

a season of transformation

spring is the season of rebirth and renovation
a time for renewal and rejuvenation
a time to clean house, to bring about some change
a time for our spirits to be rearranged
it's a ritual that requires a diagnostic regime
a season to repair and fix everything
a transformation of our hearts, minds and souls
a time to reassess and readjust our goals

it's like going to the doctor for an annual check-up
to see if everything is on the up and up
as women we must be especially aware
and mindful of the changes in this flesh that we bear
God wants us to prosper in our own season
He wants us to be whole in body and sound in our reason

yet society seems to be in a state of disintegration
and women's health issues are in a precarious situation
it's time that we move forward and finally see
that preventive care is not beyond our own capability
to bring about our wholeness we must also participate
with our doctors and God make a covenant
a partnership, a collaboration to work in harmony
for God gave us these bodies in generosity
God promised that through faith we will be renewed
so connect with your doctor and the spirit in whatever you do
be willing to change, repent and atone
abide by the word that God sent down from His throne
be humble and submit to God's grace
let a healing spirit be put into place
but before you can be healed you might have to reach certain height
take responsibility for your decisions whether they're wrong or right
and turn from your rebellious and wicked ways
humbly submit to God and to Him pray

God Himself came to earth so that we could be healed
He took on the flesh of man to feel what we feel
His death was the sacrifice and redemption for our salvation
Jesus died upon the cross to give us reconciliation
we are now the vehicle that He uses to show His power and glory
His earthly creations who will continue to tell His story
as women we are the carrier to create and sustain life
the vessel that gave birth to His son Jesus Christ
as women we possess humbled spirits and personalities
and willing to walk by faith on His authority
as women we are transformed whenever we pray
and we will submit to God's will and to His ways
as women we have a need to repent for our sins and mistakes
with a desire to be healed and will do whatever it takes

spring the season of renewal and rebirth
a time to reassess our situation here on earth
a season to clean house and start over anew
a season of transformation, a long time overdue

no need to explain
see that thing between him and me
don't worry about that because there's no more chemistry
get yourself a real man
that will own up to his mistakes
instead of me answering his phone
hearing you other women complaints
about how your on top and I'm on the bottom
you want his man; take him no problem
but just so you'll know
he's like a puzzle; can't solve him
you're getting a trick not a treat
all his women are toys
and like pieces of meat
this is the last phone call I'm taking
Christmas is coming you dummy
and I'm in my damn kitchen baking
so do me a favor
please take him and don't look back
shows over
no refunds
now fade to black

Avodah zarah

Peoples across cultures
converge in a certain place to worship.
Bringing with them the baggage of their history,
helps to understand their ways and cultural flavors.

  Everyone shows his need
  in different levels
  with varying degrees
  in quest for an answer.

Others crave for more
beyond the limit in human proportion.
It's passion for a certain need
power, money and prestige.

  Like a foreign worship
  that centers only on oneself
One's obsession just for self gratification
  describes a temptation to prevail.

That's contrary to our calling
as men and women in the world with others
meant to be gifted to others
moved by God, the source of life and love.

Kiss from the Sun (2005)

There was once a time when I dreaded the sun
All throughout the summer I had no fun
I was hiding in oversized clothes ashamed of me
Couldn’t be the women I wanted to be
I hated everything but the woman I used to hide
I wanted to reach for the inner side
Everyone would look comfortable and great
I had to cover up and conceal my hate
I felt ashamed of my body growing
It was the transition of me and knowing
But now I have grown and the summer is bliss
I run out side for a long summery kiss
I crisp and tan
I’ll chill out for as long as I can
I’m happy being who I always was deep inside teens
Now the women I am, shines and beams

Guts, God, & Glory

A tribute to the women and men who fought and died and never received their
just honors or glories.
And to the mommas and daddies that lost these children, this is their stories.
To say the least war is hellish, ghoulish, and sometimes the last resort to settle
irreconcilable differences.
For it’s during these times the devil is let loose to wander freely, disguised as a
mighty leader is just one way he can alter his many appearances.
War is always given a just and noble cause, but I often wonder sometimes how
much truth is in all of that.
What it really boils down to is that someone is trying to push their ways or ideas
on you and it eventually leads to combat.
So what do you do when you are challenged with these issues.
Pray to God for wisdom, seek strength, and courage, and hand momma the
tissues.
It’s always our children who are the first line of defense against these causes of
war.
Freedom has never come cheap, and that is the only explanation you can give
someone who loses a loved one on some foreign shore.
Could be we might be praising budda while eating that bowl of fish eyes and rice.
Had that son or daughter of ours not paid the ultimate price.
War should never be condoned but used only as a necessary tool.
Only for God and country should it ever be used and never allowed in the hands
of a fool.
So I thank God for my country, and bless the ones that had to fall.
Where would we be if these brave men and women had not answered the call.

Black Angel

She is my angel
my comfort
my support
my guide

She sits on a golden curb
Her cheeks held by two delicate hands
A light radiates her from behind
making her holy wings,
glow, and shine
Her wings stretch wide,
free, and light
Helping to express her voluptuous figure,
She has round hips,
full, chocolate rose lips,
and a bust that holds the nature of motherhood

She is my angel
my happiness
my joy
my pride

Her smooth blackberry legs
dangle in the breeze
Golden rings, circle her wrists,
humming the angels song as they hit
Fingernails of peach,
defining her uniqueness,
Her hair pulled into an afro puff,
showing she never forget who she was,
as a women,
a black women

She is my angel
my elegance
my beauty
my charm

Thin cotton white fabric drapes over her
The arches of her flawlessness covered,
exaggerating her purity
She moves with grace
to the melody of a child’s laughter,
Sparkling white teeth show themselves
as she smiles,
loving life
and all that she gives to it

She is my angel
my strength
my wisdom
my courage

Her eyes bright,
calm, and focused
Watching life, as it passes so quickly below,
Her heart does’t not cry
for the broken,
Her soul does not give way
to desires,
Her mind does not worry
about tomorrow,
because she holds hope
as strong as her prayers,
and as thick as Jesus’ beard

She is my angel
My great grandmother Dagmar
My mother
My aunts
The women who love children
The women who inspire
The women of faith

She is, my black angel

Old Soul

Maybe I'm an old soul
The things that should appeal to me are not interesting
Some probably think that they should be
I'm in the hip-hop generation, but current creations make me believe
that this world has no morality
Scantily-clad women dancing on the hood of cars
Beautiful women with no intelligence become superstars
Anorexia is acceptable, and should be detectable
The wickedness in this world is incredible
Men are leaving women with children to raise alone
Little children wake up and wonder where has daddy gone
Drugs are accessible at any given time of the day
The only thing that we can do is pray
Music isn't music anymore, and I listen for true creativity
It seems real music is an endangered species
Men enter prison, and some never see freedom again
We must think before making descisions
I'm an old soul in a young body
Even though I have made some mistakes, I am still somebody
To the youth of today, I must say that we are the future
We cannot push aside the God who our country was formed by
Meterialism and wild, riotous living will only lead to financial and
physical ruin
What are you doing to make this world better
This old soul is being wise and humble.

PRAYING WARRIORS

grandmothers, mothers and aunts
women praying warriors
they know about the goodness
and power of God
they know that there is a spiritual
battle going on
don't discount them, don't disregard them
they are warrior women praying
on the Christian battlefield
trying to save souls
placing God's protection around
those that they love
those women who attend church every Sunday
and Bible study every Wednesday night
praying warriors on the front line
calling down the omnipotent powers
of the Holy Trinity to intercede
fighting against satanic and demonic
strongholds and principalities

wearing the FULL ARMOR OF GOD
girded in Truth with the Breastplate of Righteousness
feet shod in Preparation of the Gospel of Peace
holding firmly up the Shield of Faith
donning the Helmet of Salvation
and wielding the Sword of the Spirit in Victory

those little old ladies who go to church every Sunday
PRAYING WARRIORS against spiritual hosts of wickedness
