The King Of Pop

from his abc's
to that freaky billy jean

came a pop star
for all to love and see

from the apollo's stage
wondered if you were ready for screaming rage

for you never had a childhood of bliss
only done what was on joseph's list

a studded white glove
and white socks just because

a star on the hollywood walk of fame
for you sang and danced showing no shame

scandals of twisted truth
did not detour you from your missing youth

neverland was your own safari escape
who would figure your best friend would be a chimp of faith

michael may god cradle you in his arms
and basked in your king of pops worldly charm

will forever miss that porcelain smile
and always think of you on my radio dial

for now your at your heavens trial
may god forgive this lost and lonely child

Dipsey Doo

Dipsey Doo who loved to just chew and chew
Whether socks rocks sticks or shoes

If you got close to Mom
She would nip at you too

Springer Spanial and twenty two
Blind as a bat and with a special hair doo

The loved she shared just grew and grew
Slept by our heads laps hips and legs she knew

Nipped at the Mailman's Milkman's and prowlers shoes
Without them having any kind of clue

But poor Dipsey Doo
Had to be put down cause of a viral flu

Mom Dad and us kids really felt blue
Because there was really nothing anyone could do

Buried next to her rocks sticks socks and shoes
Are lonely teardrops from the loss over you

ONCE AGAIN THANK YOU

I was just trying to remember the past
trying to remember the good people
 and the bad people,
that i came across on my way,

i want you to know
that you are among the good people
that left a good trace in my life,

once again i just want to say thank you
for passing through my life,
is so short but is wonderful
i want you here forever.

The Gift of Sound

The Gift of Sound.

In our little house stands an upright piano
Tuned by a blind man blessed by the gift of sound.

My son sat one day playing a masterpiece
Wrote long ago by a man who couldn’t hear.

Listening to the music it took my mind away to
Afar magical places no luggage and no cases.

My mind kept jumping between different scenes
Fields of colored flowers the loveliest it can be.

Shadows of far mountains colors in different hues
A pied piper sat under a tree playing his favorite tune.

Sheep gathered together chased by a cleverly dog
Taught by nature no cane and no flog.

Oh… the gift of sound.

Zoo - Just to Amuse You

One fine day, I planned a visit to zoo
Alone landed amidst the fauna left so few
Treaded merrily on greenery, singing my heart out
Whilst a lion’s scary roar made me shout

‘Ah! Another visitor’, said the lion annoyingly
‘Why should we entertain you?’ said he fumingly
‘What’s the point in wasting your energy and mine?
Making us do the funny acts, do they seem so divine?’

Hearing those words I dared
Reduced the distance, still scared
Said I, ‘Stop fuming King of Jungle, watch out for your age,
Hadn’t I come to visit you, wouldn’t you be bored in your cage?’

‘The answer dwells in your question, silly girl
You humans have no heart of pearls,
The so-called king of jungle imprisoned in cage
Heartthrob of millions I was, at my early age’

‘To meet my family, hope it doesn’t get too late
I need to eagerly meet ‘em all, my cubs, my mate
I still feel them, they are waiting for me
Oh girl! Be kind enough to set me free.’

I couldn’t have done that with all my might
Turned my way, delighted by a peacock’s sight
The multihued beauty was sheltered in a metallic cage
Awe! Gloomy this beauty looked, in distress and rage

‘What is wrong? Do you want to fly?’
It turned around and looked straight at the sky
‘Show me those vibrant feathers, the fan-like crest
Guests would adore seeing you dance at your best’

‘I dance just for my love, my love for rain,
Cool breeze no more likes crossing my lane
Why do I open my feathers without my mate’s presence?
Just to amuse you, I shall do; confined in this fence’

Dumbstruck, I decided to turn my way
Walked ahead in quest of animals happy and gay
There it was! A crazy monkey, flirting and making its choice
Mimicking others and playing around, hear its evil noise

Bouncing, bouncing and dancing, dancing
It ruled as if dungeon’s dominant king
Wow! You look so happy; what’s the reason?
‘Girl! No more fun for you, ‘coz free I’ll be from this prison’.

Two giant men came forward and opened the door
Good Lord! It’ll be free, unkind humans is just animal’s lore!
Monkey screeched, ‘Meet me soon in the nearby forest
Where I meet my pals, play, eat, have fun and rest’

Happy to see the monkey’s joy, I walked ahead
Across the bushes, saw a van, a huge van in red
Giant men carried animals and dumped in the van
Shocked I was to see the sight and reckoned their plan

Why was my monkey friend inside, for what purpose?
It was clear as I read the van’s name, ‘The Great Royal Circus!’

February Funny Bone

Once came along a groundhog named Phil
Looked for shadow in winters chill
                                         Even top hat and coat
                                         Didn't stop whining's gloat
Stuck six more weeks paying heating bill

Inevitable Bear

Oh lonely Inevitable Bear,
Padding claws, death in white
Sorrow in recurring nightmare
Instinct’s test; fight or flight?

Camouflage against the fence,
A challenge; my subconscious fear
Ominous slowly moving silence,
“Let me in, there’s a bear out here!”

DARE TO INSPIRE

My dreams and desires
Are to write to inspire
I have so much to give
That is my reason to live
Peace always invades my spirit
I’m so glad my soul welcomes it
My compass to my life is lost
I cannot navigate the way home so pen pays the cost
I will always write to find my way
To my God I pray
As the realization dawned on me
When my pen flows I’m free
I can be anybody I want to be
So many of us have to settle for a life of deception
I shall soar beyond this world's limitations
In all things, follow your heart
In life be careful how you walk and talk
Think it, believe it
Don’t hold back do it
Let your dream grow
Please let God take control

                                Dad worked for zoo
                                Feeder of Coco too

                               Brought the little guy home
Boy did Coco love to rome

                               Droppings here and there
Mom covered up his dairy - air

                               Shoulders he did seek
Knocking younger ones off their feet

                                Bananas and salted nuts
                                Made Coco dance and strut

Each day a animal of new
Dad brought home from the zoo

But the one I'll remember the most
Was coco who shared my daily toast

Remembering Belle

She was a devoted ole gal always at her best
so many days I cried hanging off her chest
down to the lake in the hot summertime
we would cool her off and swing on a vine

Every morning at five am here came Belle, now my friend
and again at six pm there Belle was ready to work again
years passed and Belle became a part of our family
we worked, we played, and we milked twice a day

Half my life she was one of my dear friends
I greeted her in summer with warm sun burnt skin
and in winter I spent my time warming them
when Belle died I can't say things were ever the same again

Belle had become more than a cow in a pen, who gave us milk
she became a babysitter, a circus act, part of the swim team, for the neighborhood
but most of all Belle had become a lonely teen's dear friend

Let Love Fly

Let love fly
-
With ethereal compassion, a soft glow in her eyes,
she picks up the baby eagle, tries to convey words
of eloquent reassurance, sincerely she tries.

Look, June is here this morning; and sun is shining hot;
last night’s storm belongs to last night; it has left an eagle;
a homeless, hurt, upset baby; it feels forlorn, lost, caught.

She takes it home; makes enclosures; feeds it with love, care.
It still feels solo, alone within, fed by love, fed up.
The enclosure of good concern grows smaller with time’s each turn.
The bird’s soul belongs to the sky; in its eyes silent prayer
flares up as it cries; shrill piercing call to its own kind.

Let it fly.

Fur Ball

< my little girl came to me and asked for a pet
to me my heart just hasn't been quite set

but who could resist those baby brown eyes
and all those little wimpers and desirable sighs

so off we went in our broken down wagon
where the rear end you could tell was sagging

to petland is where we went
                 pocketbook really took a dent

odie and garfield was their chosen names
two bunny hampsters very different but the same

oh my little girl was not yet done
said mama we need hampster ball so they can have alot of fun

and don't forget their bedding liners
so their living will be much finer

but first you must buy them their cage
oh my little girl is quite smart for her age

she knows they like fruit and snacks
so she doubled order with ten sacks

ring ring ring ding ding ding
did it's cash register ever so did sing

                   eighty five fifty
                   well ain't that nifty

                   handed lady one hundred
                   mumbling under breath was said

                   left store in a hurry
with our clothes looking so dam fury

EYE Don't See -Part 3-

My eyes
Witness your departure
My eyes
Are dripping with hopelessness…
My eyes start to blur…
Melancholy put me under pressure…
Is there a cure to my disease?

You don’t see
The shards of hope that once brought us back together
Just let me search for safety
I’m strong enough to realize that I’m no longer
The weakest prey out there…

And I’m left in my solitude…
Do you hear me whimpering like a distraught puppy left on the train tracks?

I’m close to my demise…save me and take me home

Nourish me…and be my beloved friend

Will this friendship last forever?

Hopefully it has no end

Will this cheerful moment help us get along with each other?

Because of you…I feel the need to run
I keep an eye on you – I worry that you’ll hurt yourself again
Because of you…My freedom is nearly gone
I don’t wanna be caught off guard again
Because of you…EYE can’t picture a solution for our vexing dilemma
Because of you…eye can’t focus on my long-term goal

And I’m left in my solitude…
Do you sense that I’m giving in to failure?
And I’m close to my demise…
Only to find myself disappear…I can’t endure
The hardships that you place upon me…
Could you boost up my confidence to overcome
My atrocious anxiety?

I’m just waiting for some sun
To keep me in good hands…
To strengthen me with perseverance …
I’m just waiting until His son
Leads the world outtah Egypt and reveals to us…
His radiance…His dazzling Kingdom –
Vibrant with glee

Your undying sympathy dawns upon us
I’m overflowing with indescribable joy
You’re a candle in the night…
We meet eye to eye…
What a sight…what a precious sight

THAT I MIGHT MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Awaken me, Lord.
Open my ears that I may hear the voices,
Of those wo cry out for help.
Let me not be deaf to their pleas,
Lest they perish, because I would not hear.

Awaken me, Lord,
That I might make a difference.
Open my eyes that I may see those who suffer.
Let me not be blind to their needs,
Lest they perish because I would not see.

Awaken me, Lord.
Clear my mind that I may undersrtand the plight,
Of those who cannot help themselves.
Let me not be ignorant in my comfort,
Lest they perish because I was thoughtless.

Awaken me, Lord.
Open my heart that I may truly feel,
For all who suffer and have need.
Let me not be cold and unfeeling,
Lest they perish because I would not care.

Awaken me, Lord.
Loose my hands that I may reach out,
To those for whom You have suffered and died.
Let me not be lazy, or fearful of what others might think,
Lest they perish because I would not reach out.

Amen

Once when I was out walking I heard a dog screaming in agony begging to be let inside out of the cold. I just laughed to myself saying to myself that the dog was acting like she was dying out there. I paid her no mind sense the dog wasn't mine.
Later when I passed by again all was quiet. I figured the owner had let her in.
The owner wasn't home.
They went to school and to work forgetting the dog was still outside.
She Froze To Death And I Could Have Helped Her If Only I Had Cared Enough To JUST GO CHECK IT OUT BUT I FEARED WHAT THE OWNERS WOULD THINK OF ME STICKING MY NOSE IN WHERE IT DIDN'T BELONG.
Just because it's an animal that doesn't mean they don't matter or "don't feel pain like we do". Pain is pain and it HURTS. They feel it like we do they just can't tell us because they can't speak our language but they speak in every other way if we will just listen.
That dog died in agony because I didn't listen and her owners FORGOT ABOUT HER.

Leader of The Pack

Wake up sleepy head is all that’s left to say. Get up I say!
But of course it didn’t help… This was sleeping at it’s best!
The bus was due for school soon, and still in bed he slept.
So out came my hidden weapons, that are better than water splashed.
I crept quietly up beside him… and here is what I said…

If you don’t get up I’ll release our monstrous, fearless, great cat.
He’ll jump and walk all over you… before sitting on your head.
Then I’ll bring in our loud 66 lb lab to lick you everywhere to death.
Then I’ll bring in our 86lb lab that’ll jump up to join you there, instead.
Don’t be surprised if he stretches out taking up most of the bed.
He’s really good at pushing with those really good, strong legs so…
It won’t be long before there’s nowhere left but on the floor to sleep.
And now let me introduce our 55lb forceful, herding cattle dog.
If he can’t get you up and going… believe me it can’t be done...
He’ll nip at you gracefully while never leaving a single bite.
He’s hungry and wants breakfast leftovers before it turns twilight.
And me I’ve reset the alarm. There’s no more music left to play.
Every five minutes the buzzer will be there just for you, I say.

Now I’m going away and you’ll notice the smells of bacon, toast, and eggs.
And if the dogs are in the kitchen first… it’s cold cereal for you this day.
And once they get a taste for leaving you far behind…
You will have forfeited your place at the table I know they’ll think you kind.
And when the animals are gone from your bed…
Who will protect you while you sleep?
Remember there’s an 8000 lb dinosaur living in the living room, that I keep…
And I know for a fact that he’ll come in and drool all over you…
He’s the problem we all run from…we walk around him every day.
And I named him Mr. Report Card… for all the damage he can play.
Without him there’ll be no Xbox, Play Station, or fancy fishing trips.
So get up my sleepy young man… The world is waiting for you today.

These are my secret weapons and they work every time…
We haven’t missed the bus you see… in a very, very long time.

Requiem For Taz

Six months ago, you followed me home,
A tiny, black, and blue-eyed gnome
It was late in September,
I so clearly remember

You moved right on in,
Made friends with your furry kin –
Always alert, in some kind of hurry
Just the sight of you would erase any worry

That shadowed my mind –
Your bright spirit would blind
Me to everything but joy,
My delightful dear boy!

Those short six months you shared
With me and cared for me
I am so deeply grateful for
And now you’ve passed through Heaven’s door

I thank you so much and cherish
Our time – your gift of joy can never perish
I’m so grateful you chose to be
My friend – you’re forever close to me

I sadly, deeply mourn your passing,
Yet know your life’s a blessing
And I’ll never, ever regret,
Nor can I ever forget

The shining joy you always brought
You’ll live forever in my thought,
So I say, Taz, let’s celebrate
Our love, it’ll never abate

We’ll meet again,
This isn’t the end –
Save a spot in Heaven
I know we’ll meet again

Yes, save a spot for me, my friend,
My grief will be soon unleavened

So save a spot for me, my friend,
We’ll meet again in Heaven

What Did The Three Legged Dog Say To The Two Legged Cat

What Did The 3 Legged Dog Say To The 2 Legged Cat?

What an amazing thing to see by any eye. Two creatures on there way home, spoke as
if they were from a war zone.

All though both were missing parts, they had tremendous heart. Cat, what do they call
you? My friends call me 2 Blue.

Dog, what do they call you? My friends call me 3 paws. It’s a pleasure to meet you.
Same here 2Blue.

Are you curious? Everybody I meet seems to be. Not really 2 Blue. What rights have I,
to say whose whole? Looks to me like you have plenty of soul.

Thank you 3 Paws; I would imagine you are quite a dog, with lots of heart and plenty of
bark.

So, 2 Blue, what’s up? Seen any action lately? Not since the alley fight in 2002, when my
back was against the wall, and I took a heavy fall.

What about you 3 Paw? What’s your story? Well, it’s a lone one, but I like to keep it
short. I was in the dark in 2007, sniffing like I normally do, when guess who? Right! The
Rockwilder Brothers jumped me.

While running, I slipped on some ice, and they weren’t nice with there bites

I agree, we all learned our lessons in life. Something’s are good, and some aren’t so
nice.

3 Paw, see you around. 2 Blue, I’ll be in town.

Dr. “G”

My Old Lovable New Friend

A funny thing happened to me just the other day.
The friendliest cat came to my door wanting to play.
He was meowing like crazy, peering in through the screen,
As if calling to someone it’d been a while since he'd seen.

I said, “Well, hello little kitty. What is it you want?
I’ve never seen you before. Are you just out for a jaunt?”
He was an orange and white Tabby with a depth in his eyes.
Of all the cats I’ve known, he was the most lovable guy.

As I petted him gently, he met my every touch.
He loved all the attention and just couldn’t get enough.
I gave him some ham scraps and some water to drink.
He gobbled it all up; then was gone in a blink.

A few days went by when one night I couldn’t sleep.
I stepped outside beneath the lamppost on our street.
I looked up at the stars as I so often do,
And talked to God and loved ones who are up there, too.

I thought I’d sure like to see that cute, friendly cat.
And right at that moment, he appeared! Just like that!
He came out from underneath the cars in our drive,
And walked right to me. I couldn’t believe my eyes!

We were both so overjoyed as if long lost friends
Who were finally able to embrace once again.
He squirmed with such delight at my every stroke.
In his eyes, I saw my friend Teddy—that’s no joke.

You see, Teddy was my life-long friend who sadly died.
I miss him every day and often look for “a sign.”
I asked the cat, “Are you Teddy?” Our eyes locked in a gaze.
Just then, as if answering, he raised one paw to my face.

He reached up with his paw and gently touched my chin.
It gave me goosebumps because I just knew it was him!
In awe, it took me a few moments to take this all in.
Then, I said goodbye to my friend, "Hope to see you again."

The next morning in the yard he played wild and carefree.
He was running and jumping and climbing a tree.
That’s the last time I saw him—don't know where he could be,
Or whom he belongs to, but I sure wish it was me!

I wonder, was it Teddy visiting me as a cat?
Maybe, just maybe? I’d like to think it was fact.
I’d sure love to see "my old lovable new friend,"
But, seems he’s vanished—I haven't seen him since then.

If my friend ever does pay me a visit again,
I think I might keep him, if it is all right with him.

My Golden Prince

Perched upon a bed of sand
The oceans fury rushes in
Flippant sea foam at my feet
A misty breeze embraces my skin

Tonight I dream of unknown love
And cast my wishes one by one
Carried out by rolling waves
Then captured by the setting sun

While gazing at the fading stars
I whisper a nightly prayer
Please bring me a loving companion
With whom my life i’ll share

I am searching for an honest heart
Possessed by a gentle soul
Kind, loyal and sincere
Someone to make me whole

He should be both strong and brave
Yet able to express emotion
He’ll love me through all my faults
And give me total devotion

I hope that I’ve not asked too much
And that you’ll consider my request
And with that said, I close my eyes
For some much needed rest

Feeling the warmth of the breaking sun
I awoke with a pleasant surprise
Looking down upon me
Were a pair of emerald eyes

He was all I ever hoped for
And so I called him Prince
On that day two souls united
He’s been with me ever since

So when it comes to granted wishes
I tell you, I am a true believer
Cause when I asked for a loving companion
God sent me a golden retriever

A Man's Best Friend

There was no one to talk to
No letters he could send
There was no one for him except
His dog - his only friend

He came home from his job
And started dinner around six
He sat down with his pet
As she showered him with licks

Sometime around eight o'clock
The dog began to bark
Alerting him that it was time
For their walk around the park

People passed them by
And never said a word
No one ever smiled "hello"
No kinds words ever heard

The dog looked at her owner
As if to say, "so what"
Who needs any one of them
Each other's what we've got"

They walked back to the house
And started settling for the night
They then went up the stairs
After he turned out the light

He climbed into his bed
The dog had followed close behind
This was their favorite time of day
When they could both unwind

He asked the Blessed Mother
To protect him and his pet
Laid his head down on the pillow
All his problems he'd forget

He hadn't even realized
As he held back a yawn
That somehow he'd forgotten
That the burner was still on

The pilot light went out
And fumes were filling up the room
The dog had sensed a danger
An impending, fearful doom

She tried to wake her owner
But the man just wouldn't budge
All her barking was in vain
He wouldn't move upon her nudge

Just then a blinding light appeared
The Virgin at its core
She nodded to the dog
And raised a finger toward the door

The dog had found the strength
To pull her master by the sleeve
Dragging him across the floor
And out the door to leave

Once outside the man awoke
His dog right by his side
People rushed to tell him
That he had nearly died

The man could hardly fathom
How this tiny, little mutt
Had pulled a man ten times her weight
Without a scratch or cut

As they walked back in the house
And passed the statue in the hall
The dog had stopped and cocked her head
When she heard the Virgin call

What the owner didn't know
And couldn't see as it unfurled
Was Mary reaching out
To pet the dog and say, "good girl"

have you ever had that perfect day?
the day when no matter what the world can seem to do no wrong?
when everything seems right?
savour it i tell you!
cherish every last moment of it for tommorow may not be the same,
for you see though you may have one good day,
many bad days filled with dark emotions shall follow,
however you see,
even though your in a bad spot,
youve had good times,
many of them too,
and nothing on earth,
not evan death can remove them from you,
for moments may last a second,
but memorys last forever.

Best Buds Forever

I still remember that day when you were a kitten,
You were so small and fit in my hand like a mitten.
I knew when I held you I would raise you,
The love I felt was more than true.
I was with you at my grandma's till I could take you home,
Then the journey of raising you began...

We brought you home and I showed you our house,
I still remember when you saw your first mouse.
You jumped out of my arms and made your attack,
I stood there and watched you get your afternoon snack.
Then we were deciding on names for you,
I just felt something with dexter and knew it was true.
I was only 8 and didn't know any better,
I did some things that I still regret.

I tormented you so bad,
Looking back it makes me sad.
But I grew up and knew how to take care of you,
Even though what I did when I was younger made me feel blue.
You grew up so fast,
I never thought me and you as buds would last.
But it did I'm so proud for that,
Because in the end your my cat.

Then came the day we would move into a bigger house,
But you never again got a hold of a mouse.
You were so scared but I took you under my wing.
I showed you around the house and you were so happy.
I redeemed myself from everything I had done.

Things got better between us as the days flew by,
The love strong that were flying so high together in the sky.
You greet me when I walk through the door,
I feel so touched that I fall to the floor.
I cherish every second that your on my bed or just saying hi in my room,
The smile that's on my face brings a tear that would make flowers bloom.

Now your all grown up and still getting older,
The temperature in my heart has gotten colder.
So cold because I know your time is soon up,
I'm struggling to figure out how full is my cup.
I only wish you could live longer and we still be together,
But we will always be best buds forever.

Dog Show

Excitement building-Oh, she could feel it,
Thousands of people seating themselves,
Her mistress had her on the grooming table,
Each hair had to be in just the right spot.

This was not the first time for her,
But something was different tonight,
"We have to win this one, my Sweet!
You'll be a Champion if we do!"

Now they were waiting to enter the ring-
Finally, the whistle blew,
Trotting around the ring was exhilerating,
It always made her nerves stand on edge.

The judge was coming to her table,
he probed and felt her carefully,
Then she trotted up and down for him,
"Good!" he said under his breath.

Her mistress paled and almost fainted.

At last, the judging was finished,
She could feel the breathlessness in the air,
She was one of those he looked at a second time,
The moment of truth was at hand.

He pointed at her and said, "She's number one!"

The crowd went wild-the cheering exploded,
Her mistress hugged her, tears getting her fur wet,
As the ribbons were hung around her neck
She thought, "Doggie treats tonight--isn't Life fun!"

Cradling Beauty

I’m just
             Lying here thinking
Butterfly thoughts,

Cradling beauty in my arms,

Hummingbirds and
Lady lacewings
Aflutter lovely in my mind

I’m just lying
     Here, form-fitted
To my mattress, goose-down
             Feathers at my head,
                                            Crying in
For the joy of it

Sparkling snowflake tears
Drift softly
                  d
                   o
                   w
                    n
melt into petals of clear-pond
          water lilies

               afloat
on the shiny surface of my
newly glistening soul

Here is the peaceful place –
Here the endless room of rainbows

I am home,
Welcome home,

I

The Open Window

I’m already ahead and stirring before that fiery Sunrise appears every single morning.
I'm quickly catching up to my own waiting for the breaking of this phenomenal day.
My coffee will be in my hand right when my thoughts once again start freshly forming!
Ah, I’m feeling alive inside and I think I’ll just stay right here for each second of today.

I glide through my house to stream Sunlight in by pulling every single window shade up,
I toast this day pouring my fresh hot brew straight into my scuffed up old-timers tin cup.
It’s the open window where I see my birds on my oak tree branches singing and playing,
I just stand at the open window licking early morning honeydew from my lips and I say,
Now this is the most outstanding way to start any God given day with this superb array!

There are just so many smelly buttercups blooming out for me to pluck them up to sup!
I’m smiling whistling and getting enthusiastic about allowing myself to get carried away,
Because I hear my happy little birdies singing their hearts out to me and they’re in tune!

Let us in! Let us in! They twitter their tweets with chirps,
Let us in and we will sing all day long just to be near you.
Laughing and giggling at my birdies I am just tickled pink,

No way Jose!
I can’t sing!
My silly, silly little birdies,
Y’all know my singing stinks.

My buzzing bumbling bee hummers away driving at the winds to boot,
I holler and holler for that goofy buzzer until I’m just not giving a hoot.
So I lift my tin cup up and in my air I toast to a genuine wholeness today,

By the open window I whisper to my eternally inspirational four winds of heaven,
Forever you may live insde my breaths majestically just as my infallible Sunrays!

Look At That Face

Look At That Face! Before I was yours there was a time when I could not go outside. I would stay all day in this concrete cage and the days would pass me by. Many people scuffled through this dark and dusty place; each time they looked but passed me by for a softer, younger face. For three long years, here I'd wait in this cold decrepit place. Just waiting for the day you'd come and say 'Look at that face!' Through all this time I wagged my tail, hoping and believing that someday you would come and see far past my size and wrinkles. At my first home... There, they were nice, until two weeks past and twice my size. They didn't foresee my growth or my playful puppy ways. They didn't account for training, or the messes I might make so here I was left to stay in this cold concrete cage. Until the day you came and said 'Look at that face!' Now here I am today, in this sunny grassy place. I fetch and I obey at the moment that you say. Soon we go inside to the comfy furnished space where you lay down on your bed and I stretch out by your side. You stroke my head, I wag my tail and here we say no more, for here I am today; happy, healthy, and forever home. A Note From The Author:::... I have 4 rescue dogs, one with epilepsy and 2 cats I rescued as strays. I feel the ones who've had a difficult life appreciate and treasure our love more. You'll have a lot to learn about a rescue fur-baby but it's well worth it for the love they give back to you.

Angels With Cold Noses

I miss them so my baby pets
Their unconditional love
But I'm as sure as the sun sets
They're happy in Heaven above

Watching over me they are
Waiting for me to cross
That rainbow bridge so very far
But still I feel their loss

The special way they'd cuddle me
That purring in my ear
Telling me that I was loved
And that I needn't fear

When I lost them every one
I cried for weeks it seems
I really almost came undone
They showed up in my dreams

But now I know they romp and play
With pets of every kind
In catnip fields the live-long day
So many wonders to find

Someday I'll be with them again
And they'll leap into my arms
No more sadness,no more pain
We'll abide in Heaven's charms

A kitten named Love

Love:

His gloved fingers loosely grab the tin cup as he sits slumped over.
People pass, barley glancing at the tattered man before them, their faces uncaring.
He has no home, no duplex or even apartment to call his own. Tonight he occupies a large box behind a local pizzeria, which sometimes if he is lucky the employees take pity and hand him a sack of three day old pepperoni.

He rests his head along him arm, closing his wrinkled eyes before the rain comes. It bounces off his cardboard box fiercely and pools around his naked toes. A veteran for his country, he never thought his life legacy would be this, an empty box laying in an ally.

The night drags on with the raging storm, high winds, monstrous bolts of lighting and thunderous booms. Eventually the old man is awaken but not by the pounding rain but a purr. A kitten, merely a few months old has wondered into his lap taking refuge from the storm. Its orange and white fur drips as he shivers, yet his purr echos around the sagging brown walls. He sits upright and cradles the kitten, wondering why it didn’t run. Perhaps like himself the small animal only wants a home.

Its olive shaped eyes fixate on an empty bag of meat, its heart racing rapidly. The kitten is thin, appearing as though it has never ate. The war vet smiles and slides off his coat, he wraps the kitten gently then grabs his tin cup. Eagerly he shakes, panning for nickles and dimes. He washes windows even wipes away the grime. Never has he worked harder for $8.75 but tonight the man and kitten will eat from a bag that reads pedigree and to him that’s just fine. He has made a friend in the most unlikely of places and to him in the most needy of circumstances. Tomorrow the vet will rise and work the cruel streets of New York. He will face ridicule, people glaring in disgust, but he will gladly face it all to provide for his kitten he named Love.

The Dog Exercising Machine

Yes, I know, I should be alongside.
Age and bad knees
dictate that I am inside the cab
with a long, green leash
so Katie can run close by
every morning,
for the last seven years
in rain, snow and sunshine.

She runs in earnest ( can a dog do that ? )
Her tongue is back against her cheek.
Her ears scan and sweep
and swivel around
left and right
listening for something ahead
or behind
as she gallops, trots,
saunters, paces
 at my side.

Sometimes in the dark,
sometimes, just as the sun is coming up,
but always in the morning,
when the smells
of the deer and elk
are still fresh in the grass
and the berry bushes
along the fence.

I love to see her run. I love to hear her run.
I can hear the jangle jangle of her tags and her collar --
her leathery, black ears flapping against her head.
her breathing and sometimes
a snort or puff as her strong, wide paws hit their mark
ker-plop, ker-plop.
Nails dig into the ground
little wisps of grass and dirt, flying.

Now, her ears are back over her head and
the leathery tips almost touch
as her back legs push
like a rabbits
working in time
driving her faster.

When the snow is here
her feet beat their rhythm
in the icy white stuff.
Crunch, crunch, crunch,
the first marks in the snow,
and maybe -- the
marks, in line with the truck's tracks,
there
the next morning.

When she stretches all the way out
in a full run, her tongue is out --
far out of her mouth,
almost lashing against
her cheek.
Her strong back legs
the rounded, hard muscle under the shiny, black coat,
push her along
and I wonder
how all those legs and feet work
in synchronization
as she concentrates on her task
or has her eye
on something ahead
that she has got to get to
now!

PREPARATION

The thin gray man
pulled his truck to the
edge of the greenest part of
the field
behind the church.

He adjusted his cap
then carefully unloaded
the plastic fences,
jumps,
marking poles,
see-saws,
a-frames
and the orange traffic cones
in the middle of the field.

With calculated moves, he had set out
the apparatus
to prepare his dog for
the upcoming trials
a short
time away.

Adjusting each item,
checking their position and height
just so,
pacing off the space
between the cones and white stakes
measuring here and there
to be sure.

His black and white Afghan
jumped out.
The dog followed his signals
and moved
over and around
the folding fences,
weaved through the
orange cones,
jumped the hurdles and
got a treat and
and encouraging word
each time it was right.

The rain came suddenly
but neither the man nor
his dog neglected their
duties.

The next day, at the same time,
almost exactly,
he returned.
This time
with a tall, shiny, black poodle.
The routine was a little different.
The poodle
more advanced, quickly
ran the gates and wove its way through the cones.

Each received their reward in time.
The man, filled with pride.
The dogs
filled with
soft praise
and biscuits.

My City

Is this my city?
Oh! what a pity.

Is this my place?
A thought makes my mind race.

We walked on roads, without a glance.
Now walking on roads, is taking a chance.

So many vehicles, so much pollution.
Is this real, or is this illution?

Where are the trees, where are the birds feathered?
All seem to be so endangered.

What I see is chaos and commotion.
Growing and growing is IT's invation.

I wonder if I can get back those days.
When clouds looked like flying maze.

But here I sit in my cab and gaze.
A sight filled with smoky haze.

I think and think as my watch goes tick.
Who's making my city so sick?

I see my land, I see it sink.
We have to do something, or we'll loose it in a wink.

So lets spread green, and lets all hurry.
Before the nature shows its fury.

By planting trees again and again.
Its not money, its life that we gain.

Isn't this a thought, a thought we must ponder.
I reach my destination, while I still wonder.

Is this my city?
Oh! what a pity.

Is this my homeland?
O God! soon wave your magic wand.

Unconcious

I'm standing here,
Staring at my puppy,
As he stares back at me,
He looks away towards the window,
So much air is coming through,
I guess he feels the sounds,
Instead of hearing them,
Just like I do,
He's chewing a shoe,
I tell him no,
But does he listen to me,
Not a chance,
But when I say, "sit down",
Or "lay down boy" in a disapline kind of voice,
Then he obey,
But why can't he obey for anything else,
I feel I'm not there,
Like now,
Everytime I call him,
He thinks someone else is calling him over,
Am I really here,
Or a spirit that still lives,
Because of my puppy,
I feel unconcious;

I Still Pray to Thee.

I Still Pray to Thee.

I fell out of a tree,
Where were you?
Did you save me?
I awoke yelling your name.

I got too close to waters edge,
Mommy was right there,
Was it you that stopped me?
My brother and I, what a pair.

The snake was so pretty and fascinating,
Thank you Frisky,
You were a great loving dog,
I was so small,
You gave it your all.

Swimming in the ocean,
The wave knocked her away from me.
Somehow I found her.
Was it you that helped me?

I was such a young, foolish parent,
Did you look after me,
Lead me in the right direction,
Take care of me?

Was it you that showed me,
What it is like, to be free?
That brought me to my knee?

I still pray to thee.

Friend Or Foe

                                                         bird in hand
                                                         friend or foe ?
                                                          you decide ?

past

Lost in my life
everything is a myestery
i can not describe
what is happening in history

for life is not pain
going insane
when people have life
then the time perscribes a wife

when world comes to an end
then everything goes stright down the drain
so time is just a bend
for all the soul of the experments of the lain

for everyone trys
and everyone dies
when time just slows down
then i hit the ground

for everwhere i go
i just went really want to show
and things will not pass
as i go now in the grass

Fly Slowly

Fly Slowly : Low level-glides ; Seagulls in flight

                  O, joyous in sight

Fly Slowly : Let the wind whisper; grace your face

Fly Slowly : Go at a calm pace

The LadyBug

“Ah, there you are, Ladybug”
I’ve been meaning to say.
That I’ve waited around
On this hot summers day.

You landed right there
On top of my thumb
“Please stay for a while,
For I’m feeling quite glum.”

“You tickle!” I giggle
- A pause in real time -
I could sit here forever
And I’d feel just fine.

So beautiful and tiny
A shell that’s so red
Your little black dots
That match your black head.

“I love you,” I whispered
“please never leave.”
I watched your wings open
And you land on my sleeve.

“I know that you hear me,
Don’t fly away home,
I don’t have a mommy,
And I don’t have my own.”

Then the Ladybug did something
I found quite strange
She fluttered and fluttered
As if was in pain.

I worried so hard
That I started to cry
And it got the attention
Of a passer-by.

“Don’t cry little girl,”
She said very hurt
I’ll take you home and
Knit you a nice shirt.”

As I got up to leave
I glanced back to see
If the ladybug died
Or was just fast asleep.

The Ladybug watched me
As I turned to say
“Thank you Miss Bug”
And she then flew away.

Why do I feel

          Summer time hits
       and I feel like s.h.i.t
Can't control this feeling inside of me
           I feel out of place
I can't keep up with this race
      I'm constantly falling backwards
        Nothings happening
Why does this always have to be me
I'm just a scared little girl
        being force to grow up
I have to face this world
       but they've denied me entry
and it seems like everyone else
             has made it
everyone knows exactly what to do
and here I sit so out of place
and I don't know what to do
           So why do I feel
          So useless inside
It's how you made me feel
              when my access got denied
               I got denied the world
Everyone keeps telling me I have to do something
               I can't just sit on my a.s.s
            and expect things to happen
But how am I suppose to
                  make miracles
                        by myself
                     I need your help
                       Why do I feel
                          So alone?

Llama

Nothing rhymes with llama
Nothing rhymes with lava
HEY! Llama and lava rhyme
I guess I knew that the whole time
When I see a llama, I shout
But when I see it not burning in lava, I pout
Ok, so that's not true
But I'm sitting here quietly with nothing to do......
I just realized that I've never seen a llama in the zoo.
I'm really starting to hate llamas now
I really wish they would all burn in lava
Still not true....
Still with nothing better to do...
