Soldier

I saw a burial with a bugler playing taps;
I turned to my father, “what happened?” I asked.
He clutched my hand and with a quiver in his voice,
he began to explain and his eyes became moist.

“My son,” he said, “this is rather difficult for me;
for an old veteran like myself this is tough to see.
In that coffin lies a genuine patriotic warrior,
an honest-to-God hero, an American soldier.

I appreciate that soldier and the service he gave,
and I honor his sacrifice as he’s laid in his grave.
He was honorable, selfless, courageous, and bold;
please remember him son, as you grow old.

The value of his service, I must explain,
if not remembered, will be lost in vain.
As a nation we’re nothing without soldiers like him;
and failing to remember would be a terrible sin.”

I listened in awe as my father spoke,
it seemed as if his heart were broke.
I suddenly remembered when he went to war,
and when he returned I thought nothing more.

I never asked why he walked with a limp,
and I didn’t care about why he was sick.
I was too busy enjoying the life that I had,
to realize that I had it because of dad.

I finally understood what my dad was about,
and it hurt so bad I cried out loud.
He sacrificed so much so I could be free,
and his battle scars were suffered for me.

It was my father’s spirit that spoke to me that day;
thank God I finally understood what he had to say.
I saluted his coffin as they laid him to rest,
and I thought about the medals pinned on his chest.

That I didn’t honor him sooner, I will always regret;
and I pledged that day to never again forget.
I’m proud that my dad was a patriotic warrior;
I’m honored to be the son of an American soldier.

I'm my Daddy Made Over

Dedicated to my Dad Jerry W. Niday 3/20/1952 - 6/18/2013

I am who I am because of him
He’s the reason for my son’s name
He gave me my courage & my strength
To stand tall even when standing wasn’t easy
Stand for the ones who can’t
To think and fend for myself
I’m my Daddy made over

Taught me to fight back
To never back down
How to pick myself back up
When I’ve been knocked down
Fight for what I believe
I’m my Daddy made over

He gave me my stubbornness
Gave me my pride
Gave me my temper
Taught me not to take crap
To speak my mind no matter who
Work for what I want
I’m my Daddy made over

How to keep my emotions in check
How to handle large amounts of pain
When in trouble he always had my back
He knew how my mind worked better than anyone
I got it from him
I’m my Daddy made over

Even though he’s gone
I’ll stand and continue on
I may stumble I may fall
May even get hurt along the way
But I’ll pick myself back up
I’ll dust myself off and stand tall
I’m honored and proud to say
I’m my Daddy made over

No Greater Hero

Struggling through the Great Depression
Growing up fatherless in the care of a loving aunt
Losing her husband, his weary mother could not cope

Working for the Civilian Conservation Corps
Trying to support his family
Attending school at night to provide a better life

Playing his sax and clarinet
Resounding notes of joy cast blessings
Filling our home with happiness many children never know

Loving eyes and deep, gentle voice
Drawing admiration from all who came to know him
Speaking softly, never in harsh tones

Accepting life’s challenges
Forgiving when his children seemed ungrateful
Nurturing, caring, standing by our sides

Picking us up when we fell
Offering support in every endeavor
Being the kind of father he never had

Teaching us to work hard and achieve
Reminding us that life offers no guarantees
Encouraging us to rebound from challenges as “come-back kids”

Gathering at his hospital bedside New Year’s Day 2009
Astonishing nurses with the depth of our love
Never leaving his side, three grown children rested hands upon his

Lingering six days in a coma, perhaps his soul already in heaven
Speaking to him, hoping he could hear
Wanting him to feel our love one last time

Siblings who rarely agreed
Concurring just this once
Feeling blessed by our father, the brightest star we see in heaven

* Dedicated to my father, Arthur Schwarz, who died January 6, 2009

GRATITUDE'S FLOW

' ''''''''' ''''''''' ''

most times, i wander past troubled winds of shore
when dark sighs heave upon a hazed door,
the crux of crosses seems to welcome me
listening to whines of own stories seeking plea,
and the wings of gray clouds immerse in cries
pausing, i carry gratitude with grace still in my eyes,

when moments are lid covered, like mourning shawl
my senses stoop ever weary as they begin to fall,
then I hear a chuckling of street kids spilling the day
as if hours are given by a Maker to strum and gaily play,
by then; I hold His LIGHT, a sliver of it begins to bloom
erasing crumbs of doubt in shades of twisted gloom.

A man i'll never be

Growing up
My father and me
He did the best he could
Because once we were three

Events happened
And then we were two
His rise and demise
As his life withdrew

Looking back, to the memories we had
They never lasted for years
Some great, some sad
For an ill man he did his best
And in me, I have his zest

He never recovered from the loss of his son
To say goodbye to the elder one
He was hospitalised for months and years
On the day he was taken, uncontrollable tears

The years we shared
Fifteen in all
In every one
He helped me grow tall
To appreciate, what life will give
Remember your past, let your future live

He's all around me every day
For on the wind I hear him say
Enjoy your life, live happily
I hope you get to the land of the free

My reply to you Dad
As you look down on me
The Aura around you
The man I hope to be

" Happy Fathers Day to you Dad, I still miss you, your loving son James "

All Things Come From Above

All things come from the Father above
Our hopes, our dreams, our love
Our purpose in this life
Our toils with daily strife
We are nothing without Him
Our lives would be insignificant and dim
We need something to believe in
So we can live without sin
All things come from the Father above
He shares our hopes, our dreams , our love
He shows us the glory of His ways
So we can follow all of our days
He leads us down the right path each day
So we will no longer stray
He will not let us stumble and fall
It's simple all we have to do is call

Father's Day Prayer

Dear merciful and gracious God
The Supreme Father of wisdom
The One who provides knowledge and understanding
The guiding light of all creation
Leader, provider, and shepherd of our fathers

I call upon You today in a mighty way
Please shed Your love of intercession on our fathers
Guide their feet while they run this race
Strengthen their hearts as they walk Your way
Cleanse their thoughts as they strive to stay on Your path
Provide them with hope as they learn to pray
Sustain them with Your love from day to day

Touch their total being as the family’s foundation
Show them wisdom to provide wise counsel
Open their hearts to impart Your values and the Gospel
Walk with them and guide their feet around sinking sand
Listen to their pleas all across Your land

Mold them as You are the potter and they are the clay
Teach them how to kneel with children and pray
Talk with them as they would with their child and family
Impart divine wisdom, knowledge, and understanding upon them
Wrap them in Your mercy and surround them with Your glory

These blessings I ask as Your humble servant
In the name of Your begotten son Jesus
The Morning Star of all creation
Singing praises to His name
Henceforth until everlasting
Bless all fathers today and always,
Amen!

Author’s comments: I thank God for my father, Kenneth Spence, a great father. He was the
kind of person when the dinner table was set you don’t want to be late. His stories were
entertaining and victorious. His instructions were always helpful and meritorious and his
praises uplifting and glorious. May he rest in peace!

Fatherless Child

There once was a day I would watch every airplane.
Praying you was on it to come take me away.
As a child I wanted you around until the day, you actually came.
The day you came is the day my life forever changed.
I remember as if it was yesterday when you physically violated me.
Mental visions as early as the age of eight, but old enough to vociferate.
Visualizing mental pictures in my mind while I am awake very aware of the improper abuse I take.
Your body on me feels something like an autopsy of a dead body.
While you lay on top of me as you press aggressively on me.
Against my will your force kept me still.
I am trying to understand if you recognize who I am.
I try to say no hoping you can comprehend; I am weakling as you apprehend.
Mentally and physically I became involuntarily your property.
A main character in a horror story, and you were my predatory.
I asked “God why?” as I bare to stare into his eyes.
This is not thee love I seek; all I wanted was my father to love me, but not like this injustice of violation of my rights.
This love is not real; not the love I wished to feel.
As he tries to stick his tongue into my mouth too young to know what this is all about.
I grip my lips painfully tight as he tries to slip his tongue inside.
I close them tighter with all my might, as he whispers, “let me love you right”
I beg him to leave as he pried my legs open with his knees my insides scream “somebody please help me!”
As he whispers how much he loves me I’m praying for God to just kill me.
I rather be dead then a man’s punching bag.
As I lay there my body was dead, and I laid my soul to rest.
I looked around the room and seen the Old Spice on the desk the same fragrance he wore around his neck.
The sun began to rise as he began to close my thighs.
In that moment in time I had made up my mind any man that ever say they love me was just telling lies.
I learned the hard way that love does not kill your inside; love does not take your pride.
A fatherless child I shall forever reside.
Every day that passes that little eight-year-old girl dies slowly inside.
Asking Jesus,” Why permit this?” and he slowly whispers…as I gently whimpers, “faith is the light that guide you through the darkness, my words reflecting as a lamp unto my feet.”
“Walk unto my path I’m here to carry the weak, come into me you are weary and overburdened. I will carry the pain you have obtained.”
“I am your father and you are my child you are never fatherless because I’m always around.”

Forever Radiant

Radiant hymn's of morning sun
of Godly words O' how I run
to and fro
I traipse in search
in love I rest
still my spirit yearns

I will sing of the Lord's great love
forever...
forever..
forever...

I hear the call upon the hill
in shallow breath my heart lie still
O' trial O' fear
I march ahead
I call my king
on Zion's perch

I will sing of the Lord's great love
forever...
forever..
forever...

To proclaim everlasting the prize
onward and bestowed to rise
O' anointed one
I march ahead
in love I rest
each day of toil

I will sing of the Lord's great love
I will sing
forever..
forever...

forever...

O' how I bear in my heart
in completion just to be a part
with sinful flesh
my spirit cries
I call my King
to shun desire

I will sing of the Lord's great truth
I shall sing forever
forever...
forever...
forever...

Amen......

I'm Your King

A burst of white light gamma rays, overbearing a flash of brilliance burns through to my soul everything is like hell the world starts to melt in the blink of an eye just the cold blackness of night I don't care if I am not again what I once was, for at this moment I am greater now than ever before I took the path between teetering, tight roping walking right up to my right divined in my unholy state I thought I told you I am your king still you sit there, hesitating I know you hate me what does that mean? I hate just about everything still I'm chosen I did not wish before now bow down to me refuse me no more for I shall always be your demon until you accept me as your King. I don't even know you though you say we used to be best of friends, you and me the day you ditched me I remember now exactly how it played out back when we were just tiny things even back then I still was King you thought me stupid just a ruse I would laugh inside, you see? not one of you single, mean people ever even knew me in a world, mostly seen to me that is why only I can be your true King and bring forth a new source of light everlasting. As two worlds collide slowly aligned one wrapped in shadows one bathed in white evils swirling in the clouds above I'll always be the king you love to hate or despise as in your blood I thought I told you, I am the one I am the way, the way out shall be shown breathe in my spirit as it carries you away breathe in my faith it shall carry your empty space and deposit you gently on a cloud just enough higher than you've ever dreamed of for I am king now, and your in my hell your in my imagination, I'll just never tell you'll feel as though dreaming, you'll feel now if you try and see you were always found the most shared in the light cast upon me the last bright star in heaven. Denounce my name, if you may One year later, still not afraid A black sheep, a darkened spade That's just life, I'm not right I'm in the wrong, follow along Like a piper, I'll pitch a song Mesmerized, the weak wills sing I thought he told you, he's still our king.

Surprising Kindness

I came upon an old man,
A homeless, wretched soul.
He looked so sad and helpless,
In his hands, he held a bowl.
He was propped against the building,
So, his weakness would not show.
He saw the world through glasses,
With hair as white as snow.

I heard my father whisper,
As my eyes filled with tears,
“One need much more than money,
One needs his loved ones near.”
My father loved his family,
Does this old one feel the same?
With my father’s soul beside me
I asked the old one’s name.

His name, he said with feeling,
Was lost with all he owned.
A thief assumed his identity,
Then, all he had was blown.
His wife died in December,
The vulture, then closed in,
Pounced while he was grieving,
Then, his life changed again.

I gathered the frail body to me,
Spoke kindly, acknowledged his need,
A home and a heart full of loving,
My family would plant the seeds.
Love is the first to be planted,
Followed by trust in their care.
My father’s spirit surrounds us,
His example taught us to share.

The old one lost all his pallor,
With love and trust he gained
More than he ever hoped for,
Another family, who gave him a name.
Grandpa, we decided to dub him
As we fought for all he had lost.
As he won the last legal battle,
His life was the price that it cost.

The old one wanted cremation.
My mother did not and she prayed.
Next thing we knew came a lawyer,
And the Last Will and Testament played.
My mother, for once, became speechless,
And I drew in no better air.
Grandpa was there in the picture,
Leaving us undisputed heirs.

No Fear

There is a place inside my head Where thoughts of other worlds will tread When I awaken from a dream Standing alongside a purple stream With a lime green cast upon the skies And a twinkling glimmer in my eyes Moons and stars that look so queer And a rushing sound within my ears I wonder if I should be afraid To be in a place quite so strange Roots of trees lying all around Whilst comes a rumbling from the ground There beyond the shivering leaves Many eyes staring back at me Out of the shroud of thickened mist On my hand is placed a gentle kiss The nerves of steel begin to fray With a restless feeling akin to dismay As a darkening shadow draws so near And yet still. I feel no fear. Suddenly aware of fields of green The most beautiful place I've ever seen A carpet of turquoise flows through the hills Mine greedy eyes can't get their fill With windows wide open to a soothing breeze Finding it's way through the forest of trees Leaving resonating echoes loud as a train As I felt a tremble inside my brain I hear whispers there upon my ear And yet still. I feel no fear The origin of such a beautiful song Grabbing my hand and pulling me along Oh it's the One who gave me life Father dearest with all your might Giving me the strength to let you go And become a part of the superlative show With a gentle hand once again to dry my eyes While I watch you capture such a glorious prize Deep down I can feel the time is near And yet still. I feel no fear Scattered pieces of a great full life Flash before mine deep inside A heart string is plucked to the tune of love Played by an angel sent from way up above While brilliant rays of light abound There I see you safe and sound Traveling back alone from where I came Crying buckets of tears like pouring rain Recalling the soft whisper you had to say "Be happy my child. We'll meet again one day." Feeling a presence always so near And yet still. I feel no fear

Whispers Within

I am the spirit of satin stardust and the antiquities of golden memories alive I call to you from the rising warmth of the sun and greet you in the misty morning light I am the steady and rolling drum beat echoing from the jagged heights above I am the mysterious curves of the raging waters' and the freedom birds of love I rise above the white summer clouds in lilting songs of grace and roam with the western tail-winds to take you home again I am a Spirit of our gracious Lord God Almighty of love hope and faith I have come to tell

Battle of the words

Bravery is the father of fears
Dreams are distant cousins of nightmares
Hope is the sister of prayers
Every night shame lays down and gets screwed by despair
Pollution abuses Mrs. atmosphere
It's a battle between personality and reality
But obviously nobody cares
Maybe it's because big tough is the uncle of little scared
Planning is deeply in love with prepared
Procrastination is the biggest enemy of determination
Ignorance is jealous of realization
Sometimes strength can get sneak attacked by temptation
Silence can never defeat a great proclamation
When the brain disagrees with the heart
The body dies of complications

Love your self...

Grandpa's Wink

One night I was trying to put a wide-awake and unruly child to bed.
She slipped, and slid, and giggled as she ran everywhere else instead.
But then I finally caught her as she climbed upon her Daddy’s lap.
He ask her why she wouldn’t go to sleep and monsters is what he got.
So Daddy told her a bedtime story that calmed her down at last.
His chair sat by the windows, where he could see the sky.
She’d noticed that he sat there nightly starring at those stars.
He told her to look for one that winked for it was Grandma saying good night.
Another one would be Grandpa who would take her cares to heart.
And one would be her Guardian Angel to keep her safe at night.
But the best of all would be God who would be there to plot her daily course.
Then look at all the twinkling ones…. They are the Angels as they rejoice.
And the Aurora Borealis is the music to those stars.
Now listen very carefully, and watch with all your heart…
And you will see you’re not alone in your bedroom late at night.
For how can you be alone with so much going on just for you?
Then Daddy gently picked her up and took her off to bed.
Now she wouldn’t go to sleep unless the curtains were open this night instead.

Then years later I was listening as she put her own precious wee one to bed…
And you will never guess… She said exactly what her father had said…
I went back to that old chair and thanked her Daddy for his wisdom thru the years…
And as I looked upon the stars… he winked good night to me, I’m sure…

Climbing Levels Of Spiritual Enlightenment

learning from the past turning the dark into light grasping a lesson from our Father climbing levels of enlightenment The Almighty presents us with lessons each and everyday it is our job to acknowledge the lessons and grow from them Although presented in different ways we all go through the same lessons in life I call it "climbing levels of spiritual enlightenment" if you grasp the lesson presented and live by that lesson you will begin your climb if you fail to live by that lesson you will tumble back down over and over hence the lessons will be presented to you once again until you achieve them The lessons are not always pleasant as the flesh cries out in pain as I climb and fall throughout my life the agony is soon replace with delight a little pain to receive a blessing from our King What appears to be a failure or a loss with no way out is simply a hidden blessing , a gift from our King...... It's time to start climbing!!! lets grow strong..........

Gratitude

The pool grows green through the leaf cover.
Large pears hang upon ancient tree.
Mocking Bird sings chanting to his lover;
As the dew sparkles, like water in the sea.

Crepe Myrtle has turned red how time has passed.
Moma admired some trees said they were pretty.
Daddy dug up a few runners, oh! memories from past.
In most things, think of daddy how witty__

Daddy brought (them) here to brighten moma's life
To give her something pretty to enjoy.
Today I enjoy them, this is reallife.
Now as I look at them they are my buoy

Clouds are coming in hiding the sun rays
But their light and life brightens my days_

It's Time to Change

How did you feel when you woke? Were you frightened or lonely, or was your heart broke? Do you feel alone or sometimes afraid? Is it clear that your life’s not meeting the grade? Do you feel uncomfortable in your own skin? Do you feel that you’re losing, but just want to win? Are you having remorse about what could have been? If so, then it’s time to grab paper and pen. Jot some things down you’d like to achieve. Then read them each day and start to believe. We cannot go back and change the past! Standing still today, just won’t last. So get ready, prepare, and take care of your needs. It’s time to firmly plant His seeds. Start with yourself and the rest will follow. I know right now it’s hard to swallow. Be gentle and patient, for there is no doubt, you’ve been hurting so long, both inside and out. If you know in your heart that something’s askew, you must be willing and ready to start anew! There’s help for you along the way. You’ll receive it for sure, so start to pray. Dear God, Please show me where to start. To You, I know I must open my heart. So say each day, “Thy Will Be Done”, and you’ll see it, I’m sure, but just don’t run. Be open and willing to hear and see, all that He is calling you to be. Follow His signs and stay on the road, and when you ask He’ll help bear the load. Don’t bring excess baggage for this trip. Keep it simple, you see or you just might slip. You need to remember to stay on track. Once you start, hold nothing back. For the new road you find is the only way. You’ll get there soon, if you just don’t stray. Now is the time for discipline and prayer. You’ll start to believe you’re in His care. As you practice and try to do the right things, you’ll be eager to see what the next day brings. Your life will be flooded with joy and gladness, and you’ll know he’s there in times of sadness. Life is still life, but just stop and think. Nothing is solved by making a stink! So put all your worries in God’s hands today! There’s no reason to keep them, let go and just pray. I know that miracles do come true. Have faith and His promises will be given to you.

YOU BROKE ME

What makes me human is You
You who broke me and push me through
Yes,though You know I was not strong
You caused me to cry or so long
So many times I ask if You really exist
Though many times also You heard my pleas
I was so wrong to blame You for all my sadness
For truly it is You who brings gladness

So many times You tried to break me before
But I was so hard and rebelled more
Yet You never stopped breaking me
Coz You were concerned of what my future could be
You never wanted me to go the wrong way
That's why You wanted me to pray
So You could guide me everyday
Until into my bed i lay

From a frozen heart You broke me to become human
For my heart never melts though put under the sun
You changed my whole being
I was changed by the grace of Your loving
Because You care so much about me
You wanted me to live with you in heaven for eternity,
For the chance to be with You forever
YOU BROKE ME to become a person much better

Thank You Father or breaking me to a new person
I didn't understand at first for I didn't know the
reason
Thank You for the tears that have poured out from
my eyes
Thank You for the sorrows that have made me cry
For now I know I'm a new being
Changed by the trials You have given.

Serenity

As a peaceful wind pushed long and free
simple love had arrived in perfect time
with a song of jubilation rolling pure through the valley
a seed of love took flight in summer winds free

simple love had arrived in perfect time
as I lay naked upon ancient rocks of graceful light
a seed of love took flight in summer winds free
Gods grace in delicate strokes touched me

as I lay naked upon ancient rocks of graceful light
with a song of jubilation rolling pure through the valley
Gods grace in delicate strokes touched me
as a peaceful wind pushed long and free

Only God Can Answer

When I was very young,
Dad and I would fly my kite.
So one day I finally asked him,
"how does God make wind and light?"
"Only God can answer that."
He told me with a smile.
"So ask him when you get there!"
I nodded, then played a while.
When we first turned sixteen,
my best friend got a brand new car.
We had plans for Friday night,
but Wednesday, she didn't get far.
I cried when I hung up the phone,
"Daddy! Why my best friend?"
He came and sat down on my bed,
as we talked about the end.
"Only God can answer that."
He told me with a smile.
"So ask him when you get there."
Then I laid and cried a while.
Further down the road,
I stood dressed up in white.
The night that I'd been waiting for,
I'd found my Mr. Right!
I asked, "Daddy why am I so blessed?
I seem to have it all!
When some just have no luck,
they don't have much at all."
"Only God can answer that."
He told me with a smile.
"So ask him when you get there."
Then he walked me down the aisle.
Then thirty years flew by.
Two jobs, Dad's cancer, and my baby.
and Daddy's time grew shorter,
and every day became a maybe.
Then sadly the Dr. said "its time to say goodbye "
and by his bed I stood.
I just couldn't believe it,
that he'd be gone for good.
"Daddy why do you have to go?"
I asked him as I sobbed.
I knew it was his time,
but still, my heart felt robbed.
"I'll ask him when I get there..."
he told me with a smile.
"If I even care! I'll meet Jesus in a while!
I know you think that this will hurt you,
but these days are grains of sand,
and heaven is the Ocean!
We'll be together once again."

Stone Flowers

Posted - 08/18/2005 : 16:22:45

In north-west Indiana
on a meager patch of ground,
stone flowers greet the morning,
stillness there, no other sound.

I walk among the headstones
taking note of those I knew,
thinking about their loved ones,
how their courage saw them through.

There is no stone to guide me
to the one I came to see,
his ashes had been scattered
on a hill of sapling trees.

Thirty years have come and gone,
he would surely be amazed,
little trees, now fully grown,
all aglow in autumn blaze.

I stand in awed silence
as the sun comes streaming through,
my Father was my best friend
and the greatest man I knew.

Thinking Only Of His Hungry Children's Pleas

Thinking Only Of His Hungry Children's Pleas

Treading down the path to massive stand of trees,
dedicated father with worries in his head.
Thinking only of his hungry children's pleas,
he rose early from his warm and cozy bed.

He raced onward a sharp Axe in his right hand,
hard work and sweat would not stop him.
Ready to gather up part of this abundant land,
he whistled, softly singing a bible hymn.

His only rest, was stopping to eat around noon,
his mind again turned to his hungry kids.
Harvest this bounty and bring home food soon,
saddened how their life had hit the skids.

House fire early last year had taken all they had,
still recovering, he prayed for relief.
He had loved ones, his life was not so bad,
almost gone was his self-pity and grief.

Sunset, now he could go collect his day's pay,
race to a store to buy his family food.
Thanking a merciful God,stopping only to pray,
sweetest blessing came changing his mood.

At home at last, food cooking on the stove,
this father mused about his lot in life.
Living in a new home in a beautiful oak grove,
he thanked God for family and dear wife.

A Little Hill in Arlington

A Little Hill in Arlington

There’s a little hill in Arlington
Where no bodies are interred
Yet crosses dot the hillside
And Taps are sometimes heard

Unlike the Unknown Soldier
With “unknowns” in the ground
This little hill in Arlington
Is for soldiers never found

I grew up without a father
He was gone when I was four
Flying for the Air Force
Back in the Korean War

His plane was ore’ the Azores
When communications ceased
The search went on for days and days
They never found a piece

My mother raised four children
Each day she learned to cope
She said until a body’s found
We’d never give up hope
The years went by just waiting
And my mother, bless her soul
Held on until her very end
To a grieving widow’s role

For fifty years we children
Had no resting place for Dad
No gravesite and no marker
No closure ever had

Then on little hill in Arlington
Where no bodies are interred
We raised a simple white cross
Dad’s Taps were finally heard

My big sister got the folded flag
And we all shed the tears
That had been bottled up inside us
For all those fifty years

Now Dad, he has a resting place
With other fallen sons
On a quiet little hillside
Right here in Arlington
